This might sound like I’m trying to kick a hornets nest but I don’t think Shiv loves Tom more than he loves her, nor do I think Tom loves her more than she loves him…. Only because I don’t think love is measurable, but the corruption of power and wealth is what makes or breaks those bonds of love, as well as trauma and miscommunication that can prevent that love from flowing freely. I think they love each other just the same and I more so agree with the theory that it’s their different modes of expressing love as well as the both of them being sidetracked by jealousy, power lust, and mistrust that only grows more and more. And J say this while keeping in mind that Shiv feels a lot more than she lets on and Tom likes to pretend he is the obedient loyal husband when it serves him right, but I think they both have equal amounts of love for each other, even when they either neglect the other for their desires or manipulate and betray one another to get ahead. Idk it just irks me sometimes because I genuinely don’t think love is measurable, just something that is or is not there and can be obstructed by other forces or motivations. And there certainly is love between Shiv and Tom, there’s no denying that
