so i just found your youtube channel like a few minutes ago and I really enjoyed your video talking about different types of social media and your own personal experience/opinions on them because ive been bouncing back and forth between social medias. I personally miss the old twitter and instagram format but ever since instagram has been turned into a reel-obsessed platform it is very difficult to get reach there so i think twitter has been my most safest/casual posting experience for me. i felt like on instagram i had so much pressure to post reels and i never gave in but it was just super frustrating, sometimes really wanting to just completely leave it entirely, but for now i guess im trying to just post more. im not a tumblr user really but i had this tumblr acc ages ago so i decided to log back in just to message here, but i wanted to ask, if theres any way we can talk further abt this privately i would love to go more in depth ! i dont check tumblr often so im not even sure if you will ever answer this haha, or how i would know if you did or not, but i guess a question that also comes to mind is, how do you post without overthinking? i have so much art i make so many doodles and unfinished wips, and people post wips all the time ! and its like, i cannot bring myself to do that either... im scared of someone either tracing over my art/stealing my art /ocs and just im not sure i guess posting wips makes me not want to finish the art, but when i dont post often i often feel pressure to post fully rendered stuff and sometimes ! i just wanna post a cute furry oc with thigh socks is that so much to ask !!!!!!! so my input on avoiding overthinking b4 you post is to start sharing your work in smaller places to build up your confidence! if you're worried about tracing/stealing, i don't want to say that's not a legitimate concern, bc it IS, however i will say it really doesn't happen too often! ive been around for years and i dont think ive...ever had anyone trace me, the most i've seen is heavy referencing and usually if you bring it to their attention, they instantly stop - when this happens i say it's 70% of the time just young kids that don't realize what theyre doing is wrong or didnt realize youd find out. you can also watermark your work! theres nothing wrong with watermarks, even if its just on a sketch! while it cant necessarily guard against tracers, it can guard against blatant theft. you dont necessarily have to post your work in progresses if doing so demotivates you; but you dont have to exclusively post fully rendered art, either. try to get into a habit of making doodles n more simple art in between your big pieces, and get into the swing of posting those! if you feel like you havent posted in a while, just make a quick doodle or something along those lines and share that! you can build up your confidence with posting online in general by starting small - you could start by sharing your art in discord servers or with your friends so you get more confident about sharing your work regularly. "ill do this when i'm good enough" is a SUPER detrimental train of thought...bc there will never be a point where you'll admit to yourself that you feel like you're ready. that's just a part of the artistic progression :') if you have that mindset, you'll ALWAYS have that mindset, and you'll never actually do the projects that you want to! if you think its outside your ability, it probably isnt really, and you should give it a go anyways! even if it doesnt look perfect or turn out exactly how you wanted it to, you'll probably still be happy in the end bc u gave it your best effort :]

if you know how to code w html, all you have to do is press "edit profile" on a character and you can code directly into the big box field! if you're not seeing that, it has to do with your settings (which i can explain more in depth if need be) if you ARENT familiar w html, thats fine too! you can find a TON of free to use toyhouse code templates, and a lot of them even explain exactly how to use them! basically you can copy and paste their code for free into your character profile, and just change the text so it fits your character :3 i have a favorite folder for all the neat free to use codes i see, here's a link: https://toyhou.se/Qwizz/favorites/79962 *my toyhouse is kind of eyestrainy btw!) carrd is a seperate website: https://carrd.co you can make a carrd for free and its much more straightforward, you basically just drag text boxes/images in and customize the site how youd like :3

So there’s this film... The Critic is the title. It’s based on a book by Anthony Quinn. Here’s like the three articles I found on it at Deadline, Collider and this lil piece by Heather who is clearly into Benny! All of them articles are putting Benny aside and as supporting character but like lookin at other actors involved Imma not surprised he’s pushed more to the back. So I checked IMDb and what the book is about, and what it says is that Benny’s character is named Stephen, and the book has a character named Stephen Wyley. From the couple of reviews I seen it’s hard to say how big his part in the book actually is but yeee I’d say not extremely big. And there are going to be changes to the material anyways cuz Mark Strong’s character, from what I can tell, is not in the book? Or at least he is not mentioned in any of the pieces I looked through. 

ANYWAYS! So Stephen is a painter, he is also a married man with kids! And he has an affair with Nina (Arterton’s character). He is also beardless. A crime as the film is a thriller or crime something something. Checks out! ALSO would say that life imitates art but that’s..................... Boy was doing some method acting I guess x.x

So to celebrate (lol) Benny took his lil ass to Wimbledon, cuz as we all know Benny has four character traits (one more than a TS4 sim!) and these are Queen, When Harry Met Sally, his shitty degree and... TENNIS! So it’s weird alright? Cuz he posted a selfie (on July 3rd) and then another boy’s definition of cute diy collage three days later. The latter was SUPPOSEDLY a thankies to Ralph Lauren. What I could spy with ma lil eye was what Imma pretty sure are the exact fucking same rags he wore before. I'm pretty solidly a Sequels fan, but I have a special place in my heart for the Prequels. I'm a fic writer who dabbles mostly in canon universe AUs, what ifs, that sort of stuff. Primarily my fics have Rey with a tendency to focus on the First Order characters and plots.

A classic Reylo fic from an old friend - Beneath the Facade. It technically has a prologue fic before it in the series, but this piece was the one that I really enjoyed way back in the EARLY days of Reylo.

Where do I fit into the SW fandom?

i liked the prequels as a kid (still do kinda), rouge one, i do like clone wars tho i havent finished it and the sequels (well tfa and tros tho only one of them is good imo) i reblog stuff mostly and read fanfic, tho i write some stuff too. finn is my fav and pretty much my center character (ie the one i focus on the most) and i like most finn ships (favs being finnhux, finnlo, finnrey)

Where do I fit into the SW fandom?

I‘m in my thirties and an OT fan since birth, because my dad was obsessed with Star Wars and we watched it a lot as kids - they are the go to christmas movies in our family. Even as a very small kid I loved Vader. I didn’t like the ST quite as much when it came out in cinemas but still watched them multiple times. I’m much more fond of them now. But my love for Star Wars really got renewed with the ST. I really liked TFA and TLJ a lot. Not a great fan of TROS though, but to each their own. I recently started watching TCW, if you haven’t go watch it! The Mandalorian is also great and feels more like the OT for me, which I love. Oh, and R1 was awesome, I loved that one! Solo also was good. I think I will be a lifelong fan because it’s such a rich universe and everybody can pick a favorite. I’m also good at ignoring the parts I don’t like, lol. But I‘m mostly exhausted about all the drama on social media, so at the moment I take a bit of a break from social media and only post from time to time. And I’m of the firm believe to ship and let ship and if the art and fics are good, you can also find me enjoying ships outside of Reylo (honestly, some Kylux art out there, woah... and Finnrey is always so tender but Stormpilot has two hot guys in it... and don’t get me started about Finnrose! You probably get the gist)

Where do I fit into the SW fandom?

It all started with the prequels which I fell in love with and even wrote my first fan fic on. (I dragged it from fanfic.net to A03 for my own form of personal torture) I dropped out of star wars until I was in Japan and a close group of friends got me to watch Roque One and play a star wars based table top role playing game, which dumped me back into this fandom hardcore. I fell in love with the sequel trilogy and now I'm stuck forever. Lol

I have been writing on A03 for around 2 years now for star wars and it's been the most productive and progressive work I've ever done thanks to ya'll.

Also, hey, I created this multishippers discord, because multishipping rocks and everyone should do it. :P I know I've never active enough but I love this space and the people in it! My fav part about multishipping is how I'm always discovering yet another ship that is awesome. It never ends. ^^

i have no idea if this is actually a broader trend bc i know nothing about dark academia beyond being forced to read secret history in high school, but i do wonder if the Aesthetic side of the genre stems from the fact that many authors seem to be american? (im thinking donna tartt, when we were villains lady, etc) Theres a really frustrating romanticization of European-style education in the US which here only occurs in Elite Private Schools and so that results in the whole... classism thing XD

yeah quite possibly, esp considering US college fees and stuff as a factor, also like... with more obscure subjects there's a certain implication that the people studying them are people who can afford to spend a lot of money on something out of passion and not necessarily for vocational purposes, like classics which does not have a particularly robust college-to-high-paying-job pipeline in most scenarios, so if those are the kinds of subjects you're looking at... well, the characters follow

but honestly idk if it's because I did my undergrad somewhere where it would have been very EASY to pursue that aesthetic considering my surroundings and I very consciously didn't, or what, but I just find the whole thing a bit baffling lol. and impractical as an aesthetic. you know old buildings are COLD and old library books are dirty and they smell of damp and you're not allowed candles in most uni accommodation and knitwear shrinks in college washing machines and murder is not actually a good way to procrastinate on your essay

but also I was reading a totally different kind of series recently -- well. i was going to say totally different because it's MG and so on but. it's murder mysteries set in an english boarding school and is that not just dark academia except for twelve year olds and with more biscuits involved?? there are even some gays eventually and they are only moderately repressed about it

but whatever the point is all the characters are posh and omg, they're just kids and it's set in like the 30s so it's a bit different anyway and I know it's meant to evoke those old school stories but ahh!!! so many of them were so aggravating!!! and so incredibly entitled! and i found it actively difficult to like one of the main characters (who i think is not always meant to be likeable, but not necessarily for the reasons I found her offputting...)

so it was actually THAT which got me thinking about how I'm a bit frustrated with stories about rich people, but... yeah...

(and then I saw something about dark academia on Instagram earlier and it irrationally annoyed me so. here we are)

My day just started so I'll tell u about yesterday, it was very cool, we had a kofte night? I'm not sure what the words is. Basically the teachers grilled us some meat and we made semi-sanlndwiches with them (I actually wasn't invited cuz I'm an 11th grader but like aye free food?? Heyyy😋 good thing my teachers love me). Some of us played Uno while the others decided to do something else, I dont quite remember.
