It actually hurts somehow that I really literally can do nothing for Halloween this year...
(╥_╥) I can't even take advantage of post-Halloween sales for like. Cheap decor or a little bit of candy. I have Zero Money.
Nobody else in the fam seems to understand how important this stupid holiday is for me either...aaa..."there's always next year" is not reassuring, it just makes me cry, i legit want to fucking crawl in a hole and die knowing i can't recharge and enjoy any of it before everything becomes ~holiday season~ hell and i become unable to go anywhere for 2+months until stores stop playing xmas songs

At last, some details!
(A while back on @srmthg we had a zine interest check, and it remains open for any additional suggestions/feedback about what you'd like the zine to be (you can also shoot this blog an ask) but I don't plan on doing a second interest check. If enough people feel this is a mistake, there's still time to do one, but as it stands I don't see the point. I will continue to accept feedback and take it into account moving forward!)
By the way, my name is @netbug009 and I'm your friendly head mod for this project! This will be my first time running a zine, but I've been helping run projects in this fandom for 18 years!
The Format
SRMTHG Zine (cooler name tbd) will be a free PDF zine scheduled to release on September 18th, 2024, AKA the 20th anniversary of the series' first episode!
I know a lot of folks (myself included) like to have nice, shiny, hard copies of zines, and I hope to get the zine onto a publishing on demand site such as Lulu to let people buy them at-print-cost if they'd like, but a free digital edition will be the first priority. Since this zine is a celebration of the anniversary of a relatively small fandom, I want as many people to be able to access and enjoy it as possible! Plus, this is my first time running a zine, so I think it's smart to keep it simple. This also lets us worry less about page counts - if a lot of cool people contribute cool stuff, a PDF can be a chonk as we want!
The Content
The zine will include both fanart and fan fiction (and maybe even a few QR codes to some other digital goodies like AMVs and fanmixes if there's enough contributor interest!)
Light shipping will be allowed, with a few exceptions - no adult x child and no monkey x human ships will be allowed. (This was THE overwhelming request in the interest check and is not open for debate.)
We're going for a general vibe and love the idea of getting copies into the hands of voice actors/staff, which should give you a rough idea of the type of content we're going for - if it's too creepy/fetishy to hand to Ciro at a convention, it's too creepy/fetishy for the book. (That said, Monkey Team is a very silly and weird show with a love for classic horror tropes so I hope people don't let that limit their imaginations too much if they wanna do something spoopy!)
NO AI WORK WILL BE USED OR ACCEPTED IN THE CREATION OF THIS ZINE. I hope that'd be a given but just to be 100% clear, no.
The (Rough) Timeline
March 2024 - Contributor Applications Open!
April 22nd - Zine members selected and invited to Discord
May 1st - Zine members finalized
June 1st - Zine check-in 1
July 1st - Zine check-in 2
August 1st - Zine pieces due!
September 1st - Zine layout finalization due!
September 18th - ZINE RELEASED!
You might notice this is a pretty long timeline for a zine and we're starting pretty early; because this fandom is fairly small and this is a big occasion, I want to provide extra time so that as many people can hear about the project and participate as possible.
If you're looking for something to do until contributor apps open, SIGNAL BOOST, SIGNAL BOOST, SIGNAL BOOST! Reblog, post to Twitter, tell your friends, get the word out so this can be the biggest celebration it possibly can! If you make any graphics in your quest to help get the word out, PLEASE tag this blog so they can be shared!

MEET SIMON!
Seems like someone new came into town. From a place far far far far far (far 200x) away, Silky invites a friend by the name of Simon.
Simon isn’t his real name, but it was the best she could give him
What is Simon? Good question.
He is a Ice-walker. Using the skin of any an ice animal with blubber skin, he prowls around keeping warm and snug. Under that blubber is his real fur, soft like Silky, but not as gorgeous and plush. Somehow, he is able to use the second layer of skin limbs, making him like some sort of spider.
Personality
Simon is one shy fella as well as neurodivergent. Life isn’t the easiest for him as it takes him longer to understand things and to communicate. Mostly he lets Silky talk for him as he becomes so nervous he begins to cry. Silky doesn’t mind it however, she understands it ain’t easy for him.
Spooky Month lore
Now how did he end up in Spooky Month? Silky wanted to encourage him to meet new folks but he was too scared. So with help from Nina, she made a cake to cheer him up!
Simon adored this and followed Silky to meet Nina. On the way there he encounters Eric.
The big fella is amazed and curious to see Eric wearing his demon costume. Simon believes Eric must wear it to keep warm or better; Eric must be an Ice-dweller too! (But extra tiny and probably some long distance cousin)
For better context: Ice-Dwellers are extremely rare so seeing another one is like winning the lottery for other Ice-Dwellers.
Simon: “o-oh! N-nice t-t-to meet you!! P-paw-please don’t be a-afraid-!”
Poor Simon is confused why Eric is scared as hell, Silky just says.
Silky: “eh, he probably just intimated by your epic look.”
After meeting with Nina and getting use to the town, he resides next to a tree for the time being until he finds a suitable home. As he sits there he finds a couple of new friends…
Simon: “Spoopy month?!”
Long story holy crap.
Anyway, here is Simon. His design is mostly inspired by My singing monsters, especially Bowhead and Bona-petite.
I’m still getting used to to Spooky Month, planning on watching the first episode tomorrow morning!

THE SIDES (+ extra) & THEIR PACIS ! (headcanons)
Not all of these will have images! Some of them will if I can find an example of what I am imagining :)
Under cut because it got super long!! -_-;
Roman - obviously, very disney themed or prince themed. He'd prefer red pacifiers, because it's his colour !!!, but will make an exception if it's a character he likes.
The 1st 1 is a Queen of Hearts themed paci, but I think Roman would love all the red details and especially the little crown. I also think Roman loves lilo & stitch (more than usual when he's regressing) & would have a blue paci if it means he can have stitch on his paci.
(Also I think stitch reminds him of his brother Remus and he loves his brother! Even if big him denies it)
(1 & 3 - bellesbinkies on IG, 2 - kittycat.crafts)
Orange - we haven't met him, but I think he loves orange juice and probably has a paci covered in oranges. (Big him is so upset everyone keeps comparing him to an orange and gets even more upset that little him loves oranges).
Janus - has to have a snake on it. If it doesn't have a snake on it he cries and cries and cries until Roman/whoever summons a new one/adds one. Unfortunately, I cannot find a paci that has snakes on it :(
It can be any colour and decorated any way, but it has to have a snake (or multiple, preferably). He also loves when his pacis are the colour of his caregiver(s)!!
I did find this one by bellesbinkies & I think it's right up his alley anyway :3 just imagine there's a snake on it, or janus will wail.

Remus - bright green and covered in as many charms and jewels as he can put on it. Once it becomes unusable and he starts all over with a new one!! I think he has a gir from invader zim center piece or a skelanimal (most likely lolita the dolphin).
He also 100% somehow chews through the all rubber pieces of his binkie . No one knows how he does it.
Patton - FROGS !!! He most likely owns like 20 pacis and theyre all different. One has a frog centerpiece and another one has a dog and another one has a rabbit and another one has a cat— he needs a million (even if logan tells him its impossible to own a million). He likes to switch out through out the day, he doesn't want any paci feeling unloved !!!
I bet he also loves pacis with shakers!
Logan - probably has around 3 or 4 pacis that he switches through, but his most used is something that looks like the one below. He also has his CG (or himself) glue on little letters that spells out "little star" :)
The rest of his pacis are dark blue with various themes, like doctor who and ocean animals! He has a bingo paci too (He loves bluey!)
Virgil - i found this one and this is SO virgil. He probably goes all out for his binkies !! He wants his binkie to be "spoopy", but not super scary or else he gets really scared (remus once tried gifting him one that was just a little too much for baby virgil & he couldnt sleep alone for weeks).
He uses one paci at a time, usually for months, but once he gets tired of it, he will swap it out.
EXTRA !!
C!Thomas - has a steven universe paci. It's red with a yellow shaker full of little stars (like steven's shirt)
Emile Picani - a snoopy paci that's black and white with little charms
Remy/Sleep - all black paci, covered in little "z"s with the words "sleepy baby" on it.

Okay, so I should write stuff about what I’m planning to do this month, for art. It’s not going to start today or tomorrow, but yeah.
First off, it’d be for mutuals and half-mutuals. “Half-mutual” is a term I came up with, because I didn’t know of any other term, and it just seemed to fit. It’s for when you follow my blog, and I follow your sideblog. (Or the other way around, but I don’t have sideblogs that people follow, so that wouldn’t apply to me.) I know there’s at least two different half-mutuals I have, one where I follow their cat blog and another where I follow their art blog; there may be more, even ones that are regularly active, but this is just off the top of my head.
I’m limiting it to mutuals and half-mutuals because I don’t think I could handle it unlimited; therefore, it logically follows that I think I CAN handle it with the given limitations. Which leads back into the perennial problem of people going “I don’t want to impose” or “I don’t want to give you extra work” or “I want other people to have a chance”. STOP WITH THAT.
Let’s take it in order. “I don’t want to impose.” If I’m asking you to give me something, and you give me the thing that I ask for, that is like, the exact opposite of “imposing”.
“I don’t want to give you extra work.” I’m not on salary. I’m not some minimum-wage employee getting paid the same amount regardless of how much I do or have to do. Heck, I’m not getting paid at ALL for this; it’s something I do because I WANT to do it. And if I feel like I can’t finish all of a thing in one day, you know what I do? I carry it over to the NEXT day.
“I want other people to have a chance.” This is actually a valid concern, but don’t worry, I have a system for dealing with that, and it’s worked very well in the past. Basically, you can only make a second (or third, fourth, etc) request once your first request has been done and posted; and that new request goes to the bottom of the list, like all new requests. I can explain it in more detail if needed -- either because you don’t get what I’m saying (totally possible) or because you don’t see how it solves the problem -- but it boils down to that the only way someone can monopolize stuff, is if nobody else makes a request.
If you keep following me, you’re prolly going to see the above stuff a LOT, as it keeps being a problem for every damn request-based art event I do. So like, just trust that I know what I’m doing, and I’m capable of making my own choices, and don’t try to make those choices for me.
Okay, rant over, what’s the other stuff I’ll need to talk about....
Subject matter. It’s “drawing pets as monsters”. Last year I got a lot of “vampire” requests, and I don’t know whether that’s because I put ‘vampire’ in the list of examples, or if people just really want to see their critters as vampires. I’d rather not, in general. Mostly because there’s only so many different ways to represent “vampire” and it can get boring after a while. I mean, I’m not OPPOSED to drawing critters as vampires, but I’d prefer that either a) it’s something you really want, as in “oh boy I can’t wait to see this critter as a vampire”, or b) you give me something more descriptive than just “vampire”; doesn’t have to be a vampire from a specific folklore or anything, “cute little vampire like you’d see on spoopy decorations” or “monstrous blood-sucker” would also work quite well for purposes.
Duration. Uhhh I have no idea; I think I’ll start with requests open for a week, and then see how that goes. And I’ll have to remember to put that in the post too; that it might be open for just a week, and it might end up as more than a week, I don’t know.
OH something else I need to make sure everyone knows, although I might not need to put it in the post itself. That once requests close, that does not mean that the EVENT closes; I’ll still be drawing requests that came in. This is something that people keep getting wrong and worrying about; is there a better way of phrasing it, that’ll be easily understood?
Also, my normal rules wrt the definition of “pet” will still apply; that is, a critter you have some type of connection to, past or present, and you can give me their name. The “name” thing is important because that’s what I do for file names, so without a name I can’t get past super-rough sketching (because I’m only going to put actual effort into a piece once I’ve saved it, which I can’t do without something to name the file, and I refuse to depart from my naming scheme).

There's a certain way some people do fluffy fur that is so interesting to me, like long and silky looking with several branching fur strands, its very cool
Unique twists or bits on cat breeds, like looking at a cat breed and saying ill take (cat breed) with some extra interesting trait! If you were like ordering it at a resturant
Two colour cats with interesting patterns are nice :) just nice that's all i have to say about them lol

No not ever, fuck this! Fuck her wish of games becoming reality, this was a nightmare disguise as a dream.
But to be far she was using the rare ability of hopping between the real world and the pokemon world so she can have that selfish wish of seeing these train conductors.
The white one-! Wait where was his counterpart?!
"Ї'ӎ ѕөяяұ ӎұ ԁєдя бҵꚍ ұөҵ ҋєєԁ ꚍө ҫдꙇӎ ԁөѡҋ-!!!!"
Y/n shoved the conductor as hard as she could, she needed to stop being so damn predictable, zigzag and random sequences of methods should do it.
The first time when she discovered this ability was when she fell asleep after stopping by the battle subway station and saving the game before sleeping after a tiring day of work.
When she woke up, she was in a different person, almost the same look as her player but much more older and mature as Y/n's age.
Y/n first looked around in awe before going to the restroom and looking at herself.
After lamenting on why she couldn't be this good looking she got out and look through her devices and the devices seemed to match up with when they were released in the early 2000's.
But then she had the misfortune of bumping into Into, after profusely apologizing and wallowing in shame of possibly making a bad impression on one of her most beloved characters, Ingo forgave her and after a bit of talking Ingo asked if she could be interested in becoming acquaintances, Y/n politely accepted.
Of course when Y/n woke up it was at the worst possible time, she left when she was about to exchange phone numbers with Ingo!!!
Y/n proceeded to go into a sad state for a few hours before forgetting and hang out with her friends and go to work, being a waitress is taxing, but at a high rate one was definitely taxing, smoke from the kitchen carrying the fumes of foods that want you to simply turn into a glutton and devour it whole, customers, some wild kids asking personal but blunt questions.
Yup work was the best in a crooked way, it was entertainment at its finest. Hearing sometime juicy gossip from both staff and customers and seeing comedic action like it was a from a comedy movie or drama.
After the long, hard days Y/n was tired but didn’t feel like sleeping, so she played her game, she finally defeated the 15th opponent but suddenly she slipped into unconsciousness, leaving her game.
When she opened her eyes, she was on the battlefield with the partner she was paired up in the game and right in front of her was the defeated opponents, now knowing what to do, she paused her battle streak, after confirming she decided that she wanted to wander around the station, wanting to see the actual battle subway.
It had everything a subway had, vending machines, workers giving tickets to the customer while other customers were waiting like they were going out of town. But it was different, being the various partner pokémon right by their owners.
But soon enough she saw that Ingo was right in front of her, asking if it would be alright if she would meet with his brother.
Y/n was ecstatic and agreed, meeting up with Emmet and going out with them was amazing, getting some merchandise, talking about some things like their daily life and how they had been.
She even got to be on the Ferris wheel where her player and N met up.
But of course she woke up and was upset for a few hours before being back to normal, working until going back home, and not playing with her game, putting it up.
There was no dream of Ingo or Emmet, Y/n was confused but didn’t question it.
But things were starting to get weird after she began dating a coworker of hers, they were kind, affectionate, and everything you could ever dream of.
And that would be your downfall, instead of not having dreams about ingo and Emmet, there are now nightmares tormenting you.
Their figures were taller, their uniform would appear bloody, their eyes would shine to look for you as you ran through the streets crying out for help, and those nightmares would end up with either one of them trying to tackle you down only for you to wake up sweating profusely.
And speaking of which, that is now what is happening, except that you weren’t waking up, everything you felt wasn’t triggering you to wake up.
The brothers that were once your idols and favorites were now tormenting you in your nightmares.

Y/n entered the building only to see nothing but a ds on a lone table, it’s screens changing color but a text appeared.

Weekly post-Maggy Propps post: episode 5 Personal Screening:
Oooh spoopy.
Spoilers obvs
I liked this one, I love the references to real world stuff, really helps ground it in culture when the culture is real. Using actual horror cliches, in a horror podcast, about horror? Metaaaaaaa. Super fun. I have a feeling that this theater/man/movie/something will potentially come back and become a plot thing. More so than anything else so far, this gives me a vibe of "this is a situation that might require further investigation". Having said all that, I think it might be my least favourite so far. Not saying much because I still really enjoyed it. The standard is SO high.
Now that I'm more used to the format of the casements, I'm really really into it. Perhaps more so than Archives. Really gives it an uncanny/future-bad vibe, an extra edge of something. Blog posts being read by a spooky voiced man, with spooky music underneath, just absolutely works super well. Immense credit to Jonny and Alex etc for making something so different, fit SO well into the previous format, and remain as scary and enjoyable as before.
I've been re-listening to Archives recently and I think I'm ready to suggest that Extinction might be explored here. I LOVE the concept of a new fear manifesting and extinction is a beautiful, very explorable and very real fear. One they didn't really get to explore too much in Archives.
We're also getting to a point where the characters now have... characters. Obviously Alice is wonderful, Sam is a little blank still but is absolutely likable. Colin is creepy man. Idk why but he gives me super-bad (not the movie) vibes
So far it's 5/5 for enjoyable episodes.
I fucking love this show already.

@storyweaverofgondor‘s Cats-pril Day 3: Junkyard! I am aware that it is April, but it’s Halloween in my heart. This one was actually based off this post by @uppastthejelliclemoon :D
So have a not-very-spoopy tuggoff! Also on Ao3 here.
September had blended into October and Tugger was officially excited. October was what the humans called “Spooky Month”, which culminated in the “Hallowed Ween”, where they all dressed up like they were in one of Gus’ plays and roamed the streets demanding sweets and chocolate from all the houses. His and Misto’s humans always made a big deal of decorating their house with pretend bats and cobwebs, and made arty pumpkins to sit outside the door. This part was weird, but they often baked up the pumpkin guts for him and Misto to eat, so he allowed it.
The humans had done something different this year, though, and transformed their house into a “Haunted Mansion”. They had made it like an interactive experience for other humans to come in and get scared in a fun way. This had meant a high number of unknown humans and their kits in the house, so he and Misto had slipped off to the Junkyard for the rest of the night. Tugger didn’t mind at first, but the constant poking and prodding and even attempted pickings-up from strangers was too overwhelming for Misto, who resented even their own humans lifting him. He got it. Even for him, a constant stream of touchy-feely sugar-hyped humans was too much. So, the moment they arrived in their Junkyard den, Tugger had made a cosy blanket fort for them to relax in. Right now, he could feel the stress oozing out of his mate beside him as he finally began to relax.
He groomed Misto’s ears for a little bit to help him calm, making sure to do extra scratches on that one spot that made Misto melt, until his mate was purring into his side. Then he deemed it a good time to make conversation.
“We should go to a haunted junkyard next year,” he mused. “It would have been fun to stay at home if there weren’t so many people, and you do like spooky things.”
“I do enjoy spooky things when there are less humans, but what’s wrong with the one we live in?” Misto yawned, resting his head on his paws as his eyes began to close.
“Excuse me?” Tugger yelped. The junkyard they lived in was haunted? That was brand new information!
“Goodnight, darling,” Misto murmured, his eyes closing fully.
“MISTO! YOU CAN’T JUST SAY STUFF LIKE THAT THEN JUST GO TO SLEEP!”
No answer was the loud reply.
Well, then. There’d be no sleep for Tugger tonight, would there? Terrific. Not that he was scared! He would simply need to stay awake and watch over his exhausted mate while he slept, lest any ghosts or ghouls decided to attack! But the Hallowed Ween was the last night of Spooky Month. Come tomorrow, the normal months were back, and the spooks banished for another year. Then, it would be future Tugger’s job to secure their den for the next one.

{{ Hello! I saw on a reblogged ask that you'd figured out a timeline between the TTG issues and the TT'03 cartoon? Might I ask if you've ever shared how that timeline goes? Could you point me to it? And if not, I'm still super curious about your thoughts on how that goes! 8O
RIGHT! So.
What I did to figure out the rough timeline was use the TTG! issues that are explicitly set on certain holidays (Valentine's Day, Christmas, Halloween) as reference points for time passage.
We have three Valentine's Days issues (#4, #27, #39), two Christmas issues (#25, #37), one Halloween issue (#13). So right off the bat we have a rough period of about three/four years for the duration of the show and the TTG! issues that explicitly happen afterwards.
From there it was a matter of figuring out where certain episodes and issues fell based on context clues--”Revolution“ obviously happens 4th of July and seems to be Starfire’s first, “Date With Destiny“ is most likely April or May since it takes place at Prom and most high schools do prom at the end of the school year, TTG! #27 mentions the True Master so it must be set after “The Quest”, etc. etc.
I did wind up having to move a couple of the TTG! issues around since they didn’t fit but only three, #13 (the Halloween issue), #40A (two-story issue, second story recounts from a time when Jinx was still with the HIVE) and #45 (since Cyborg and Sarasim get back together in that issue but were shown already back together in TTG! #39).
Everything else can be presumed to proceed in chronological fashion.
I’ve included my little timeline graphic, plotted with the episodes/issues that have “hard” dates, as in we know exactly when they happen.
And here’s my rough approximation of a couple key significant episodes/issues and the overall seasons, as well as those few shuffled exceptions I mentioned.
Red: Season 1
Yellow: Season 2
Blue: Season 3
Purple: Season 4
Green: Season 5
Orange: “Extra” season, TTG! issues that continue past Season 5

“Birthmark” (S4E3) reeks of Dangerous Sixteenth Birthday and also appears to be Raven’s first celebrated with the Titans. I like to headcanon her birthday in October (because spoopy season), October 13th to be exact, because it allows the most time between Year Zero and Year Two for four whole seasons of the show. By necessity this means that Season 2 and Season 3 of Teen Titans happen mostly over the summer of Year One.
Season 3 of Teen Titans being in summer of Year One also fits with “Revolution” being Starfire’s first 4th of July with the Ttians.
As previously mentioned, “Date With Destiny” (S2E6) takes place in prom season, so Season 2 taking up the early part of summer of Year One also fits.
"Date With Destiny” marks the first appearance of the R-cycle, which means Robin is 16 by then, as that’s the earliest one can have a legal motorcycle license. (Though Robin has a motorcycle in TTG! #4 it’s an early design, possibly what he was learning on while waiting to take his official test. It would make sense to celebrate getting his license with building a new custom cycle.)
Robin’s birthday (according to DC Comics’s Robin Annual #4) is “the first day of spring”. So either March 20 or March 21. Leaving room for the earlier episodes of Season 2, this means that Robin was 15 when Slade kidnapped him in the “Apprentice” finale (S1E12). What a bastard.
With Season 1 of Teen Titans ending in March, I straddled the beginning of Season 1 back into Year Zero, with “Sisters” (S1E2) happening on or adjacent to New Year’s because of the fireworks.
“Go!” (S5E10) would have therefore happened sometime between October (Raven’s birthday) and December (start of Season 1), to allow time for the Tower to be built. I stuck it nebulously in early November but I’m flexible on this date.
“Nevermore” (S1E6) would be sometime mid January to late February. I put it earlier to allow time for the other episodes of Season 1. For poetic sake I put “The End” finale (S4E11) exactly one year later.
(Also because Cyborg and Sarah’s relationship is strained from lack of contact in the Valentine’s Day TTG! #27 and it would make the most narrative sense for that issue to take place right after the whole craziness of Season 4.)
“Things Change” (S5E13) has Terra in school, enough time having passed that she’s already taking a test, so I put it at the end of August. Season 5 takes the longest amount of narrative time, consequently, most of Year Two. It could theoretically be longer, pushing “Things Change”, Beast Boy’s birthday in TTG! #28, Cyborg and Sarah’s reconciliation in TTG! #45, and the first clear post-Brotherhood unfreezing issue TTG! #33 all back into October/November, but I thought I’d leave some breathing room between TTG! #33 and the Christmas issue TTG! #37.
Valentine’s Day issue #39 takes place literally right on the heels of Trouble In Tokyo. Literally, Larry is so happy about Robin and Starfire getting together that he decides to steal cupid’s arrows and make other Titans fall in love too. So Trouble in Tokyo is mid February of Year Three.
TTG! #50 is called “Graduation Day” so for poetics sake I stuck it late May, when most school years end. TTG! #51 is also therefore late May since it has Terra still in school. TTG! #55, the end of the comic run, has big summer vibes (a barbecue party at Dayton Manor is twice mentioned) so could be anywhere in June/July.
Various Titans we met in “Winner Take All” (Speedy, Wildebeest, Hot Spot) make appearances starting from TTG! #14. Speedy was the first, and his appearance is very much per-assignment to Titans East. So I placed TTG! #14 at the beginning of when Season 3 would start.
I just kind of stuck TTG! #40A in there because it’s after “Mother Mae-Eye” (See-More and Private Hive are on the HIVE Five) and feels like a breather moment between Season 4 and Season 5.
(Whew!)
And there you have it, my rough approximation of the Teen Titans timeline.
