at first, the idea of sharing your relationship with the world terrified you. the things people might say, what they'd think. but, you realised, as time progressed, that the idea of not sharing and people not knowing about your relationship seemed even scarier; you were becoming somewhat desperate to let the world know that charles leclerc was your boyfriend.
the only issue was gaining your father's approval. you had convinced yourself it would be easy to obtain, but the harder you thought about it the less you agreed with that sentiment. but, you couldn't hide forever.
˚₊‧꒰ა ☆ ໒꒱ ‧₊˚
the formula one season had flown by you in a rush of lights; you blinked and it was almost over. it had been a thrilling title fight between max verstappen and charles, and this race was the decider.
you're pretty sure that you didn't take a breath for the whole race, closing your eyes on multiple occasions. no one knew what had you so invested in this race in particular; being the mercedes team principal's daughter, you had come to many a race and tended not to be that interested in the sport. in truth, you did enjoy it but it had been your whole life, you assumed it was normal to become somewhat burnt out.

you had never ran quite like it; from the mercedes garage to ferrari. all you knew was that you had to be there for him when he got out of the car. in that moment, you didn't care who saw or what they thought or if they found out the truth about your relationship with charles. all that mattered was him.
and when you saw him, you knew he felt the same as you did. you broke out into a grin as his eyes caught yours and, before you knew it, his lips were on yours and your face in his hands. shutter sounds and flashings of cameras surrounded you, your head spinning, your heart swelling with pride; your boyfriend had won his first drivers' championship.

The fact you think someone who's most recent DNFs were crashing in the last lap through driver error is better than Lewis is hilarous. Not to mention Mercedes are experimenting their tractor on Lewis, like they did in 2022 when everyone also thought Russell was better when he wasn't. Literally as soon as the announcement to Ferrari happened, everyone said knew that Lewis would suddenly be 'struggling' when he was best of the rest last year. Because think about it, it's in Mercedes' interest for Lewis to look washed. He dumped them in a humiliating way, they don't care about anymore.
Just say you don't like him? Or don't understand his value? Signing him is similar to the decision Williams made with switching Sargeant for Albon, harsh but a no-brainer. This is for any team in F1, including Red Bull. Because of one thing - hype. No other driver generates as much hype as him, and that's something that can't be replicated with any other driver. This isn't to say he isn't one of the top drivers talent wise, he is. But as we've seen with Bearman and Sainz, put any driver in a good car and they'll perform well. Ferrari's barrier to the championship is the car, not the drivers. If they have a championship winning car next year, they'd win it with both the current drivers and with next year's drivers. The only difference is that the story will be much bigger with Lewis instead of Carlos. And one more thing, this is the last opportunity for Ferrari to have Lewis in their car. I know there's lots of talk that the veterans should retire, but trust me, Fernando and Lewis are still at the top of the game, and when they're gone they will be greatly missed in F1. Instead of questioning why he's been given someone else's seat you should appreciate him while he's here, appreciate that the legendary names of Ferrari and Hamilton have in fact joined together when for so long most people thought it's impossible. Please do more research because you clearly don't understand F1.
One thing first: I never really made a secret about the fact that I'm not a big fan of Lewis Hamilton, I once wrote that in a post already, but I also always said that he is one of the best drivers ever in F1 history and I respect his accomplisments and performances.
I'm also a bit of a fan of Fernando, so it's not that I just don't speak for the drivers that are a bit older, I actually like the idea of Alonso becoming a champion again, 20 years after his last championship, if he should get a top car next year.
Oliver Bearman did a very good job at the Saudi Arabian GP, but he surely wasn't on the level of Charles and probably Carlos, that's for sure. So that wasn't really a good example. But no one was thinking that he would be as good as both of them, because of the circumstances that it was his first ever race and he has never driven the car before.
Lewis is surely still a good driver, but is he still the same that he was in the 2010 years? I really don't think so. And what reason would Mercedes have to let him be worse than he could be? It would only harm Mercedes, because they would get less points and bad publications in the media. Also it wouldn't make Ferrari or Lewis slower next year.
It's true that Ferrari hasn't the car to win the championship, no one except for Red Bull has it right n ow. But I think no one thinks that they'll drive for the championship this year. So it's still about the performances of the two drivers, which are pretty much very close to each other.
It's just my own opinion and how I see it, for me there are these minimal signs that (at least recently) Carlos would be the better decision. Maybe Charles can prove me wrong, then I'd be the last one not t say that I was wrong and Ferrari did the right thing (especially if Lewis will perform great next year.
The hype about Lewis is actually the only big reason for me to sign Lewis to Ferrari, but as Ferrari, a team that is the most famous, even without signing one of the biggest stars on the grid, that demands from itself to drive for the championship, I don't think it should just be the media hype that decides who will drive for them. And no, I'm still not saying Lewis is a bad driver, I'm just saying he isn't at the same level anymore that he had when he was winning one championship after another.
A thing iI want to let you all know, is that I will deactivate the anonymous questions, because i get many reactions that aren't very friendly or objective/impersonal, and I won't answer such stuff, because I want this to be a friendly discussion about the F1 amongst F1 fans who can also respect the opinions of others and don't feel personally attacked if someone does say something that they don't like to hear about a specific driver or team.

Pls elaborate I’m so intrigued by this opinion!!
I DELTED IT BAHAHA I GOT SCARED OF PEOPLE COMING AT ME
i just think pierre is a stronger driver, no he didn't perform well in red bull but red bull doesn't prioritize their second drivers and the car was literally built for max that year so
first race he showed that he knows how to overtake he knows how to start last and finish in the points like he is genuinely a good fucking driver, alpha tauri just screwed him over
jeddah showed he has good pace, no there wasn't much of a battle but he wasn't creating a gap behind esteban he could consistently keep up whereas carlos in his ferrari WAS dropping back he didn't have the pace he didn't have the same control
i think if you were to put pierre in a ferrari, he would know what to do, same as when they put george in a mercedes. george knew how to make the most out of what he had (i.e. williams) he knows how to drive a bad car so when he moved to mercedes, he excelled whereas lewis didn't because he expected more, therefore struggled more. i think george and pierre are similar in that way, they're patient, they're smart, they can make the most of a shitty situation. if pierre were to be in the ferrari rn instead of carlos i think you'd see more of a battle and a driver who actually knows how to fight for a championship
on the other hand, if carlos were to be driving the alpine i just think he'd be like a bull in a fucking china shop i don't think he'd be able to get a good grip on the car i think ferrari drivers are used to their car working FOR them (ideally) whereas alpine drivers have to work WITH the car
i hope this makes sense, these are just my thoughts
im also a die hard pierre girl so maybe im biased

I wouldn't say your post rattled me, at least not in the way you're probably thinking. I try not to personally reference the people when I write my own posts or comment on theirs, I may disagree with the opinions but I don't criticize the person writing it. You said something along the lines, "They don't know what a fact is", which I see as you calling me a liar, or even crazy and delusional, that's why I sent you a message. I have never used the anon button, I think it's pretty cowardly when people do, I stand behind my opinions and don't feel the need to hide.
Nicknames? Okay, honestly I've heard "carshmilton" as many times as "crashtappen", of course there's also "mv0" and "mv00", "human error champion", "mickey mouse champion", "costcappen" and so on. There's also "crymilton", "PR63", let's not forget all the memes and videos. I don't really see what this proves apart from the fact we as fans have too much time on our hands and can be immature.
Illegal? I mean Michael won his first two titles in a Beneton that was illegal, Lewis won his first in a car built with information stolen from Ferrari, Mercedes worked with the FIA for several years on the hybrid engines before 2014, they had an advantage Lewis benefited from for years. I don't really think that's a can of worms anyone wants to open. Every team will always do anything to win, that shouldn't be blamed on the drivers.
Crashed out other drivers? Most of the races Max "crashed" with Lewis, Lewis went on to win, and Max didn't gain any advantage by being aggressive. He was crashed out too and it cost him much more than it ever did Lewis.
Helped by his teammate? Pretty sure most drivers (champions) get help every now and again, it's not like Checo was actually a contender for a title at any point, let alone on those rare instances he helped Max. Let's be honest in most races Max was running in P1 or P2 while Checo was down in P4, P5, P6.
Owning up? Imola 2021? When he first criticized Valterri for being in P9 in a Mercedes but then conveniently changed his story after speaking to Toto. We all know he was just kissing up to Toto to get the Mercedes seat he wanted. Austria and Austin? Honestly I didn't know he took any responsibility for those situations. I mean I wouldn't say even that quote is him owning up since according to your screenshot he didn't actually say it was his fault but okay. Did he take any responsibility in France or Singapore or Silverstone? Yeah of course no drivers are going to list excuses on the radio and not accept responsibility. Except when it's George you say it's normal but Max is "crying on the radio".
Max had a hole in his car, it's not something any driver would've brushed off especially since he said he didn't know until he got out of the car and saw it. It also severely compromised his race, I don't think it's reasonable to expect him to "brush it off" just because he was ahead of George, he could've won the race, instead he couldn't even fight. Max didn't storm towards anyone, George literally said he thought Max was going to congratulate him, would he have expected that if Max was "aggressive" with him? Max didn't have his helmet on, we could se his face, he was smiling, calling George "mate", yes he was annoyed but he wasn't angry. It wasn't throwing hats around the cool down room or storming towards Esteban, or Vettel confronting Daniil. We've seen angry reactions and today wasn't it. I don't remember Max putting holes in peoples cars any time recently, George didn't touch the barrier, he had enough space. Also Max when he does touch other drivers gets penalized, or at least investigated, none of that happened today.
Threatening him? I don't think it's a threat, he just said next time he's going to do the same as George, if George was in the right today, then there's nothing wrong with Max saying he'll do the same. I've seen other drivers make the same kind of statements. I think it was just a reaction to George dismissing him and walking away that provoked Max to react and say that.
Pretty sure it's still you and George who are the hypocrites. If being condescending to me is making you feel good since let's be honest you're driver isn't giving you anything to celebrate and probably won't for a number of years, I'm glad you at least have something that makes you happy in your life. Enjoy your dinner, I'm going to enjoy my two time champion and support him on his way to becoming a three time champion, probably before your driver gets his second win. Bye.

AMuS race analysis Hungary on Ferrari:
What did Ferrari do wrong?
Far ahead on the hot Friday, brought back down to earth in Qualifying and ripped out of their last championship dreams during the Race: Ferrari misjudged the temperature dip starting on Saturday, struggled with the tyres, messed up the timing of the pitstops and on top of that chose a tyre combination that did not work during the race. At least not on their car.
But Mattia Binotto didn't view the wrong decisions as the reason for why the didn't win in Hungary. The team principal instead focussed on the, in his opinion, missing performance. "For the first time the car didn't work like we wanted it to. And that on all tyres. Our speed wouldn't have been enough to win. And you can see that with Carlos who started ahead of Hamilton, was on the same strategy and ended up behind him in the end". But Carlos Sainz also did not have his teammates speed.
With his statements Binotto is shielding his strategists, who have to deal with being accused to have gotten it wrong once again. It began at the start as Ferrari sent both their drivers off on the mediums instead of splitting the strategy, to get Pole-Setter George Russell who started on softs. He didn't have the speed of the Ferraris and therefore an opening for Leclerc happened.
The Monegasque overtook the Mercedes during his second stint just before half time and drove of. Then the Ferrari pitwall drew a blank with the second pitstop. The Italians called Leclerc in on lap 39 even though his second set of mediums was only 18 laps old. "This has a simple explanation. We wanted to cover the undercut of Red Bull.", explains Binotto. Verstappen had pitted a lap earlier.
The Problem: With 31 laps there were too many laps left for Leclerc to pick the soft tyres. Ferrari chose the hard tyres and fell flat on their faces. "Our simulations told us that Verstappen's medium tyres would be better for 10-11 laps, but that we'd have the advantage over the 30 laps left", explains Binotto. The foreboding examples of slow Alpines and Haas were not enough for Ferrari.
The strategy program played Ferrari. Leclerc found zero grip on the C2-tyres, because he never got them up to temperature. Verstappen overtook him. Instead of driving for the win, Leclerc was pitted a third time in lap 54 to get rid of the C2. Thus, the championship runner-up ended up in P6. "My pace on the mediums was really good. The hard tyre killed us", curses Leclerc. He wanted his team to extend his second stint on the mediums and to then switch to softs instead of falling into Red Bulls trap. He believed in himself to catch Verstappen in the closing stages on fresher tyres.
Simple maths: After the chequered flag he was 16 seconds behind, the extra stop cost him around 20. Ferrari was able to win.

I fear that the LEWIS x MAX mess is back and I don't want it.
Nothing makes me happier than seeing Mercedes back competitive after the initial mess they were experiencing, but hand in hand with this also comes the toxicity between them and Red Bull, which no one needs. And I repeat, no one.
Also, note how this competitive toxicity only goes between Red Bull and Mercedes, there have so far this season never been problems like these with Mercedes and Ferrari...
Aside from all the "teasing comments" that are already being made between Lewis and Max (and then of course good old senile Marko, who always drops a bomb full of sh*t when he opens his mouth and talks about Mercedes), unsurprisingly, it is once again the fans causing most of it.
Cheering on someone crashing is not cool, it is not funny, it is pathetic and it applies to both the fans at Silverstone booing Max for a good performance and to those, who were today in qualifying at Red Bull ring cheering wholeheartedly when both Lewis and George crashed.
The fact that one side does something disrespectful or downright rude, doesn't mean that yours have to drop that low as well and do the same. Instead, try to have a bit of dignity and respect towards others and show the other side that you are decent human beings, not a bunch of d*ckheads.
At this point, I am literally scared to open the comment section under any F1-related post, let alone those announcing something like Lewis crashing or not having a good weekend because I always know that there will be a bunch of Max fans talking sh*t about him, which in most of the cases is not even welcomed constructive criticism, just pure hate or envy worthy of an elementary school kid with anger issues.
Do I like the "orange army"? No, to be honest with you, they are getting on my nerves in an indescribable way (of course only those, who I see as problematic).
Do I go out and bash them on every single move, ridicule Max under every possible post? No, cause I strongly stand behind the opinion, that even fans should have at least a basic human respect for each other, just like the drivers do.
If you don't have anything nice to say, or don't have respectful constructive criticism to share, then don't say anything and keep your mouth shut, darling, it is not that hard.

i think it came from some rando on twitter. provided literally no evidence except that alpha tauri is worse than expected this year. while at the same time ignoring that this is the first time alpha tauri has had to design their own car instead of using old red bull parts from previous years. also ignoring the fact that mercedes’ and ferrari have both brought more upgrades than red bull has.
yeah critical thinking isn’t some peoples strongest asset

F1 DRIVERS AND THINGS THEY
ONLY DO WITH YOU
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
including mclaren, ferrari, mercedes + verstappen, ricciardo & gasly
warning : none
note : not my fav one but i guess it's still okay
!! english not my first language !!
ᦈ OSCAR PIASTRI 81
turns into an extrovert guy. usually, oscar is an introvert person. he is very calm, and not extra energetic. maybe shy sometimes, but he's definitely a pure introvert. but when you're here, oh it's not the same anymore. he would become so extrovert, because he feels literally so comfortable around you. he shows only to you his funny and weird side and he even enjoys it more because it makes you laugh a lot. his race team would probably tease him about it. but oscar doesn't care, he'll continue to change into an extrovert person only for you.
ᦈ LANDO NORRIS 4
hugs you. lando doesn't much like hugs. he just doesn't like contact, when people touch him. of course, when fans or close people would ask him a hug, he'll do it. just a simple hug of barely 2 seconds. but when it comes to you, he literally loves hugs. you're the only one he loves hugging and would never refuse you a hug. he's simply the happiest man alive whenever you wrap your arms around him, as he pulls you even closer because he loves your touch. and it's not just a quick hug like he would do with fans. sometimes he would stay in your arms for minutes, stroking your back as he enjoys fully your embrace.
ᦈ CHARLES LECLERC 16
let you sit in his racing car. only drivers and reserve drivers are allowed to drive the cars. and charles loves his car more than anything. he doesn't let anybody sit down on the seat. he doesn't let anybody touch the steering wheel. except you. you and only you. one day you asked him if you could sit in the car and he was so happy that you asked, so he didn't hesitate to say yes. he would giggles seeing your little body seated in the impressive car. and he would also takes pictures of you, probably choosing one of them for his new lockscreen.
ᦈ CARLOS SAINZ 55
lost games on purpose for you. carlos can be very competitive. he doesn't really like losing. whether races or games or golf, he doesn't care, he needs his victory in everything he does. but if you're playing against him, you can be sure you'll surprisingly always win. because carlos would let you win on purpose. he's totally okay with losing if you're the winner one. he also loves seeing your proud and happy face every time you win something, so he just keeps losing on purpose to admire your smile crosses your lips as you get excited and give him a fist bump.
ᦈ LEWIS HAMILTON 44
passenger privilege. lewis is such a good driver. when he needs to transform into a taxi driver, he makes sure his passengers are comfortable. mostly driving slower and following safer routes. also he talks with them, maintaining a pleasant conversation. but that carefulness doubles when you're the passenger. sitting next to his seat, he would gently stroke your thighs. he drives carefully and smoothly, he doesn't want bumps or short stops. he'll hitch small cushions to your seat so that you can be comfortable, and he'll buy some drinks so that you can enjoy fully the ride.
ᦈ GEORGE RUSSEL 63
private hairdresser. george's hair is often messy. and sometimes he's too much lazy to take care of it. but he doesn't like when people would touch his hair. it's is little precious thing, you have to be very important to george to actually touch his soft hair. and you are the only one. you're the most important person to his eyes, so of course you have the privilege to touch and even style his hair. whenever he needs a retouch, he would call you and let you play or style his hair as you want, it doesn't even bother him a bit.
ᦈ MAX VERSTAPPEN 33
give you his podium trophies. this guy has such an incredible amount of trophies. and, well, he doesn't really know what to do with them anymore. exhibit them ? throw them ? no, absolutely not. instead, he thought giving them to someone could be a good idea. and he directly thinks about you. every time he wins a race, he retrieves his well deserved trophy and runs to offer it to you. because for him you're the only winner of his heart and you're the only one he trusts to take care of them. and you're not a f1 driver, so you're always happy to carry an amazing trophy. especially when it's max who won it.
ᦈ DANIEL RICCIARDO 3
gives you a special smile. daniel is such a joyful guy. he's always smiling or laughing and it's rare for him to not be in a good mood. if you're feeling bad and need some comfort just call for him he will makes you laugh in ten seconds starting now. his smile never disappears from his face. but when you are around, his smile changes dramatically. for the others, he would give them a simple but still warm smile. but for you, it is all special. a soft, sweet smile crosses his face as he makes eye contact with you, adoration weaving in his eyes. he just become softer with you.
ᦈ PIERRE GASLY 10
buys you gifts. pierre likes to please his friends or his family. it's like a part of his personality. he has the need to offer to his loved ones gifts or things they like. but it would be more for special occasions. like christmas, birthdays... but you're kind of the exception. for you, he would buy anything. even though you don't even need it, he would gift you everything you want. something you really need, a pair of shoes you liked, or a random object he would buy you because it reminds him of you. yeah, whatever, you just need to watch a bit too much longer a thing and he's already offering you it. yes, he probably likes to spoil you.

Okay, this is the second time you reblog my post with takes I vehemently disagree with. The first time you did it, I sent you a message that you refused to reply to, you probably won't answer this one either. If you refuse to talk to me, but keep on reblogging my posts to criticize them, than I will block you. I understand people will and should disagree with me, I am open to discussions always, but the way you do it, is simply petty.
You have completely missed the point of what I was trying to say, you have twisted my words and my meaning, talking about things I didn't even mention. I wasn't "making Redbull the victims", I was actually questioning why Sky treats them the way it does, when no other team gets treated this harshly. I listen to Ted often unfortunately that's why I know that he was being incredibly underhanded and sarcastic with his remarks. I also in my years of listening to Sky don't remember them talking about Mercedes and Lewis like this when they were the ones dominating and winning, nor were they constantly bringing up other teams as their rivals. It was Redbull's launch, there was no reason to talk about Mercedes or who someone's best friend is, he could've talked about this man's achievement instead of his friendship with Lewis. There is no expectation of Redbull to talk about any team in particular, they are launching their car and talking about their new sponsors and partners.
All of your criticisms of my post are from what I can see based on the notion I am talking about fans, I am talking about international broadcasters, who have shown worrying levels of bias in how they conduct themselves when it comes to Redbull.
To be honest with you, I didn't refuse to answer, I simply forgot because of my exams and me just being me + the flood of notifications I got. I wanted to get back but it has just not been a priority of mine.
Please block me, I don't mind at all. In fact, if my opinion annoys you that much I encourage it. After all, the experience we have an Tumblr is whatever we want it to be and if that negativity is bothering you, then don't let it be part of that! This is not meant to sound patronising and I hope it doesn't come across that way. I have lost followers before, probably been blocked by many too for my opinions and that's complelty fine. I realise that not all negativity is tolerable and that it can be exhausting. He'll, I even had some mutuals I adored unfollow me because I was in such a rant about a driver that they deeply adored. I regret that since I have realised my hatred was mostly stupid but I understand them and I would probably have done the same.
Glad we both agree that words were twisted. If you didn't think you were making RedBull the viticim or that wasn't your intention that is one thing. However by singling out or making it seem like RedBull is the only team that has been affected by commentary bias you kind of fell into the easy mentality that I have seen many teams on F1blr where the victim mentality is so prominent.
I honestly think any other team would get the same treatment where they an actual threat to Mercedes. I think it has been easy on Ferrari this year since it was clear they were no threat even with the great car as they kept fucking up strategy etc.
I think it's normal that especially after 2021 it the focus will lie more on RedBull. I get that they are very borderline and out of the line with their comments sometimes but I don't think this is one of those times at all and I would argue that it has definitely been better this season.
I disagree about Ted but I guess people interpret tones of voices differently and without any specific comment or explicit mention whatever he might have been trying to do, we are both as wrong as we are right.
Oh no, I think there's a definite bias from the British media towards any threat to British drivers. Seb was literally so hated and still is quiet often by commentators such as Brundle.
I mean, the season is approaching, reporters want to stir up drama. It's literally what they do. They will keep digging about Mercedes and RedBull, it's their job. I agree that it's dismissive towards this man's accomplishments but any opportunity will be picked up.
Oh no, RedBull don't have to talk about anything but also, the not mentioning Mercedes bit might be mind games which teams are all great at playing.
I still think my point stands and I still think that a certain bias is normal. Commentators are also just human and will prefer one driver to another. They're human. And while I agree that there's borderline times, sometimes going into unprofessional but I still don't see this here or think it applies in this case

as cheesy as it sounded, you had quite literally fallen for him when you first met. you had been at the Silverstone track as a guest of the mercedes team, and in your haste to reach the back of the garage, you hadn't been particularly observant of your surroundings.
withing seconds of your frantic walking, your body collided with a more muscled one, and you had found yourself nose to nose with the one and only lewis hamilton.
many flustered apologies and breathless words later, you found yourself on a stargazing date with the 7x world champion. yes, he took you stargazing on your first date. it was literally written in the stars that you two would end up together.
hundreds of dates laters, after realizing that you were indeed what was missing from each other's lives, you found yourself getting married in santorini, and what do you know, 9 months later you had welcomed your little girl.
which brought you back to here. in your lovely home that you shared with Lewis and little isabel carmen Hamilton.
isa was an absolute little bundle of joy. with her big brown eyes like her daddy's, and the same curly hair, you often found yourself tearing up at how much she looked like her dada.
it was summer break, which meant that lewis had time to spend with both his girls. and there was nothing you loved more. mornings meant cuddles and soft kisses pressed to your bare shoulders and lips, your neck, your collarbone, while his fingers traced intricate patterns on your bare skin. it meant you could wake up to the scent of his cologne everyday, and instead of hugging a pillow for comfort, you had his strong arms wrapped around you tightly while he slept.
for little isa it meant that she could play all day with her dada, and when she woke up and saw that lewis was still there in the morning, you swore not even the stars had shone so bright on your first date together.
this morning was no different.
you had awoken to soft kisses being pressed to your shoulder blades, and warm hands running up and down the bare expanse of your thighs, and you had basked in the warmth of the moment before waking up to start the day.
lewis, being lewis, (the ultimate baby daddy) had bathed isa and pretended to be a shark for her entertainment, unaware of you recording him with a gentle smile on your face, wondering how the hell you got so lucky.
breakfast passed smoothly, with isa eating her morning fruits and baby food, and then singing nursery rhymes with her mama and dada. isa was the calmest baby you had ever seen, and her pleasant nature meant she got along with everyone. it had also clearly become evident that she was lewis hamilton's daughter, when you had taken to her to a toy store to get her a present for christmas.
when isa saw the cars, her excited squeals has filled the store and she had tugged on your finger for all she was worth, not resting till the little Ferrari car was tight in her grasp. after lewis' dramatics over isa not wanting the mercedes toy, you had eventually bought the car for her.
it was to date her favourite toy to play with. it was a great deal of amusement to people in the paddock that isa's favourite car was the Ferrari. but as charles joked, "if little isa does decide to become an f1 driver, any team would be lucky to have someone with those genes"
as afternoon approached and you got ready to put your little angel down for a nap, you heard her excited babble of "val-eri!" making you chuckle.
valterri had very quickly become one of isa's favourite people. was it his resemblance to her favourite teddy bear that was also blonde? you wouldn't know. but she adored him and clung to him like a koala bear when she could. so it was no surprise when she sounded so excited to talk to him.
valterri's excited reply was unclear, but what was not unclear was lewis' joyful shout of your name.
"baby! come here right now!"
dropping whatever you had in your hands, you rushed into your living room, to see your baby girl standing on both legs, walking towards where lewis sat with his phone.
she had done it. your little girl had taken her first steps.
gasping, you flung yourself down on your knees next to her, clapping your hands to encourage her. "oh my god isa, are you walking Bubba?!" you cried, watching as a sweet laugh left her mouth and she took another shaky step towards her dad.
you could feel the tears spilling down your cheeks with pride. and as you looked up, you could see tears spilling down lewis' face too.
with another soft cry of "dada! val-eri!" your little girl closed the distance and managed to collapse on her dada. crying happy tears, you joined them to give them both a bear hug.
"can you believe she just did that?" Lewis asked, the emotion heavy in his voice as he spoke. 'no, i still can't believe we actually made a little human" you cried back in response, a watery chuckle leaving your lips.
laughing, he pressed a soft kiss to your forehead.
you watched as isa continued babbling away to valterri and he humored her back, until something clicked in your mind.
"you coffee loving porridge eating finn, how come my child was willing to walk over to you but not to me!"

Brocedes time line for a very patient anon
Lewis quotes in orange, Nico quotes in pink, everyone else is blue.
okay first some background knowledge:
Nico is rich as fuck. only child, born in Germany, brought up in Monaco. son of world champion Keke Rosberg
Lewis was born on a council estate in Stevenage and his dad had to work multiple jobs for him to start karting
Honestly I think the difference in their backgrounds is one of the things that pushed them together, they were both isolated from the rest of the kids, but I’m keeping this purely facts rather than speculation.
2000
They’re both 15 years old and are karting teammates for MBB (Mercedes Benz McLaren) in Formula A
Robert Kubica: “there was always competition. But they didn’t fight. It was friendly competition. There was always laughing afterwards.” // “they would even have races to eat pizza”
They often shared hotel rooms at the races which was a “scene of many wrestling matches between them”
Dino Chiesa (their karting boss) – “many times I was called by reception about some problem in the room. It might be noise, or they might have broken something. They would never sleep so they were always tired the next morning”
“they both liked ice cream so much, particularly vanilla. During the night they wanted to eat ice cream always, so I had to go out everywhere to find some and keep them happy”
Lewis would often persuade Nico to buy him sweets
They would have competitions over LITERALLY EVERYTHING
Lewis: “we always had great competition whether on the racetrack or computer games or playing football”
“probably the first bit of competition we had was when Nico used to ride a unicycle everywhere so I thought, ‘I’ve got to learn how to ride this unicycle. Ive got to be better than him.’ I spent all my time outside the go-kart learning to ride this unicycle”
Apparently it only took Lewis 2 hours to teach himself how to do it
In maybe 2013 ish (when they were still friends) Lewis reflected with– “I have never laughed so much than when we were racing together. Nico was kicking everyone’s butt at that time. We had so great races together and built a great relationship”
“we were just arriving and enjoying go-karts and eating pizzas every weekend, fighting all the time and just having fun, whereas now it’s all business.”
many times they would talk about what they would do when they got to f1, made plans hoping to be teammates and become world champions together.
“Nico would say ‘when I’m in formula one’ and for me it was always ‘if I ever get to formula one’. Because obviously Nico’s dad was a formula 1 driver- he knew he was going to make it.”
F1
Nico joined f1 in 2006 with williams, Lewis 2007 with McLaren. And man I WISH I knew what went down with this two when Lewis nearly one his rookie season (missing out by one point to mr fernando alonso) and then WON THE CHAMPIONSHIP in his SECOND SEASON (again by one point thank you mr alonso)
2008 Australia
Nicos gets his first podium, and ofc Lewis is there (he won it) and they are jumping around in the cool down room. Just, two kids who are literally living the one thing they have spent their whole lives dreaming about together. Lewis won the championship that year and oh wow I can only imagine their celebrations together.
Tumblr media
2013
They’re teammates in Mercedes!!!
Nico: “every other day there are moments or things that pop up and I can smirk and thing, ‘that’s exactly the same as it was 15 years ago’”
2013 Malaysian Grand Prix gets an honourable mention. This is the race with red bulls good old multi 21 but merc also had their own team orders, stopping nico from fighting for his first merc podium, but Lewis disagreed with it so it didn’t really spark that much tension between them- more the team.
2014
the start of the turbo-hybrid era so y’all know this was good in terms of performance.
2014 Bahrain Grand Prix
They were both fighting for the win and had a collision which prompted a “mock fight” in parc ferme after the race (which I really hope there’s a video of).
Turns out, Nico won because he had used engine modes banned by Mercedes to get a power advantage in the closing laps. which kinda pissed Lewis off
2014 Spanish Grand Prix
Lewis’ fourth win in a row and took lead in the championship. They were fighting till literally the last second and Lewis crossed the line 0.6 seconds ahead of Nico, who says he could have passed him with one more lap.
Lewis defended using the same banned engine modes that Nico had used in Bahrain. Yeah.
2014 Monaco Grand Prix
This is IT. This is peak petty bitch. This is the one people still cry about.
It’s the end of Q3, both of them are out on a lap, Nico ahead of lewis. Nico’s already on provisional pole but Lewis is pretty close.
And then,, Nico just,, parks his car?? He says he made a mistake but the guy doesn’t even crash he straight up just,, rolls to a stop into a slip road. So the yellow flags come out forcing Lewis to abort a lap that was in the makings of pole.
The stewards say it was a-okay but Lewis was convinced it was intentional (and let’s be honest, yeah it probably was) and he even claimed that merc’s data proved it. (low key surprised he didn’t just tweet out the telemetry but I guess he got a stern telling off from mclaren last time)
But *this* is when Lewis tells the world that they aren’t friends anymore. An iconic interview.
Nico then wins the race too, ending Lewis’s four win streak and putting Nico in the lead of the championship.
2014 Hungarian Grand Prix
Lewis has an engine failure in quali meaning he starts from the pit lane, but he does good to make his way up the pack but THEN there’s a safety car which puts him ahead of Nico but on a different strategy.
Nico asks if Lewis can let him past as he needs to pit again before the end of the race, which will give him the place back anyways. Lewis straight up refuses, he’s on a role here. He started from last, and Nico started from pole, why should he slow down to let his title rival through.
Mercedes strongly suggest that his blocking fucked up Nicos race but Niki Lauda is on Lewis’ side so he doesn’t get punished (We stan a supportive father figure) even though he did blatantly refuse to be a team player.
And guys, this is the last race before the summer break so you know Nico was left seething for four weeks.
2014 Belgian Grand Prix
Second lap, Nico attempts a clumsy move and there’s contact, giving Hamilton a puncture and knocking him out of the race.
There’s a lot of controversy but basically it turns out he crashed with him intentionally, not backing out of the corner to “prove a point”. Nico ended up finishing second but was punished by the team, forced to apologise, and even booed on the podium.
2014 Abu Dhabi
For some reason it ran for double points?? The first time in History??? But idk???
Lewis had a perfect start and went on to win it and take the title, Nico had a problem and was told to retire the car but he kept going anyway and finished 14th. Nico went into the cool down room to congratulate Lewis on the championship win, which. cute.
Lewis claimed his second championship. Which not only was huge because of the inter team rivalry, but also because of the large gap between his first win. This guy had lost out on winning the championship in his ROOKIE season by ONE POINT, and then WON it in his SECOND season, and then there was like a FIVE YEAR gap before he won it again.
Tumblr media
2015
Damnnn this car was fiiiinneeeeeee.
They do more laps in testing than any other car AND do it on a single power unit. And then. Australia. They take a one-two THIRTY FOUR seconds ahead of the third place Ferrari.
2015 Chinese Grand Prix
Nico is second in a one-two but claims that Lewis kept backing him up into Seb, trying to compromise his race (and help out his boyfriend).
Lewis gave zero shits: "It's not my job to look after Nico's race, it's my job to manage the car and bring the car home as healthy and as fast as possible. That's what I did."
2015 U.S. Grand Prix
If Lewis wins here he could also claim the title with three races to spare (you have to remember back then the title fight often went up to the last race so this was pretty cool)
Lewis very aggressively forced Rosberg wide at Turn 1 to claim the lead, and then there was some sexy fighting between the Mercs and Redbull all race. Nico led in the closing stages but made a mistake, running deep into a corner and letting Lewis past with only a handful of laps to go.
Nico finished P2 and had not only lost the race but the championship title. Nico was fuming, saying Lewis’ move at the start was “one step too far”.
This is the infamous cap throw in the cool down room. Lewis throws Nico his P2 hat, Nico straight up yeets it back at him. I tear up just thinking about it. They grow up so fast.
Tumblr media
2016
Nico had came so close to winning and I guess this was just, the last straw. All or nothing. This year he literally gave it everything he had. Lewis and him stopped speaking, Nico gave up literally the rest of his life and even stopped sleeping in the same bed as his wife and taking care of his kids, instead spending every moment trying to get into Lewis’ head. Honestly, I think he might be the only one that could beat Lewis. Just because he knew him *so well*. He literally threw away like 16 years of friendship. But also it’s like, he had to be world champion. He *had to*. His dad was champion and his whole life he’s been preparing to win it too. Tough luck that he raced in the same era as Mr. Best Driver The Sport Has Ever Seen.
Nico won the last few races of 2015, and the first four races of 2016. Lewis had a couple car problems and Nico had a good lead on him in the championship.
2016 Spanish Grand Prix
Gentlemen. A short view back to the past. Nico had made a switch error on the formation lap causing the car to go into the wrong engine mode. So he was running a lot slower than Lewis, who was fighting to claim back the lead.
Nico closed the door to keep him back, and Lewis lost control on the grass, and spins into Nico and taking them both out of the race in the first lap. This is probably one of the most iconic crashes. I’m pretty sure there’s a clip of this somewhere in black and white with the titanic music over the top.
Niki Lauda blamed this one on Lewis (I guess even a supportive dad has to be critical sometimes) "Lewis is too aggressive. It is stupid, we could've won this race".
2016 Austrian Grand Prix
Nico had been struggling with a brake issue all race but was still on the way to win it. But in the last lap Lewis had caught him up and gone in for the overtake.
Typical Nico not taking any shit, refusing to be the guy that backs out and they collide. Lewis took the win and a damaged Nico dropped to fourth. From first. In the last lap.
Both of them blamed each other and tired dad team boss Toto Wolff threatened team orders in future races.
The stewards blamed Nico for the incident, issuing him two penalty points for failing to allow "racing room" and causing a collision.
2016 Abu Dhabi
In the final laps of the race, Lewis ignored team-orders from his race engineer and the technical director.
He deliberately slowed and backed Nico into the pack hoping they overtake him, and there would be enough of a points difference to win the title.
Nico finished second and won the title by five points.
And then,,, Nico announced a surprise retirement during the FIA prize giving ceremony.
Lewis’ response:
"This is the first time he's won in 18 years, hence why it was not a surprise that he decided to stop.” (We stan a petty king)
“But he's also got a family to focus on and probably wants to have more children. Formula One takes up so much of your time."
“In terms of missing the rivalry, of course because we started karting when we were 13 and we would always talk about being champions. When I joined this team, Nico was there, which was something we spoke about when we were kids. So it's going to be very, very strange, and, for sure, it will be sad to not have him in the team next year."
And now they are kind of on speaking terms but not really, they are both pretty private but I think they are at the ‘awkward small talk when we run into each other at the supermarket’ stage of the break up.

You gonna hate me for this(please don’t block my ip address😭😭) but am I the only one who thinks Mick is better suited not only creating his legacy but carrying on his dads name at merc alongside George instead of going to Ferrari? Like I don’t know how to explain it but Mick and merc look like a better fit to me than Mick and Ferrari. And like I know his father wrote history in red and he could do the same but idk man at this point in time it seems like with the mordere politics of Ferrari and just how everything is set up and going, it feels like Carlos and Sainz are the more suitable combo to bring the championship/s back to Italy. And this is not me undermining Mick, god no, but rather things always seem to go awry when a driver has their main ambition of joining the scuderia(throughout history in general). Like I’m thinking Gio, to a lesser extent seb, fernando, Hill(?), Prost etc. Also this is just me not wanting Mick to be described in the light of his father. Anywho enjoy your day
sfdsfd hey I'm not gonna block you or hate you for an opinion don't worry! This is speculation and personal opinion about a career, it's not life or death.
I see where you're coming from, and I've also had this thought myself several times. Mick's not quite god the, uh, Crazy Wild Stupid Feral 'spark' that Ferrari drivers tend to have. At least not yet, I think there's plenty of time for that to develop! And I think his brand of nice pr would fit in better at merc than the political minefield of ferrari. But I do disagree here are my highly articulate points that are just my opinion!
I rambled a lot so feel free to not read but tl;d - I agree with you in theory, but in practice there's an emotional element there that I can't shake and I don't think Mick or Ferrari can either.
Because I Don't Want It. I want to see The Heir at ferrari. The connection between mick and ferrari is like... literally the only person who has a similarly personal connection to a team on the grid r/now is Charles. I don't think for Mick there is an option that isn't Ferrari. He already turned merc down once, even when they absolutely had the better team and the resources to get him there.
Why would merc take him or even plan to take him? The driver market is very competitive. They have plenty of drivers with more established records they could put in that car. I love mick to death but I don't think he's particularly wowed anyone in F1 just yet - he can't with that haas. I think it's really getting ahead of ourselves to be talking about merc when he doesn't even have midfield experience yet. If expecting him to go to ferrari is nepotism then expecting him to go to merc is just entitlement. It makes more sense to stick with Ferrari, who know what he can do very well from his junior career.
His last name actually damns him in the driver market. No team is going to want to put the resources into building their team around him when they know as soon as he shows the slightest capability of winning a championship ferrari WILL swoop in and he will probably, for personal reasons, say yes.
Mercedes treated his father like shit. They let the press focus their attacks on Michael being "washed" so they wouldn't talk about the car under-performing. They led michael AND fans on and then announced Lewis before he could announce his retirement or plans, making it look like he had been forced out. I wouldn't want to carry on his legacy with them if I were him, because there is no legacy. Just a recurring pattern of mercedes treating him like shit, first in his junior career and then again in his twilight years.
Also I know Mick is his own man. I love him as his own man and I respect him as his own man. But like. His last name is Schumacher. We can't escape it, he can't escape it, and the teams can't escape it. Not even ten years ago, Michael was on the grid. It's impossible to ignore, and I think there needs to be a nuanced way to both acknowledge Mick is his own person and accept that he's inherited a legacy and he and Ferrari have chosen to navigate that legacy together.
IDK I think you have to see that video where Seb has just joined Ferrari and they're talking to a crowd of tifosi and one of the tifosi says something like "Michael gave us hope. I look at you and I see him again, and I hope you can bring that feeling back to us" to understand how emotional that legacy is.It's not Mick being overshadowed by his father, it's Mick inheriting a legacy that holds meaning beyond him to people. He'll build onto it, he'll write his own chapter for sure. But the book still exists, and it doesn't diminish the strength of his writing to admit that.
Ferrari has always been a sucker for history. They're the only F1 team that has been around this long without a single rebrand, without ever once losing that chronological history of cause and effect. There's always an element of personal in their driver decisions - See: throwing sebastian out unexpectedly instead of just retaining him until they had a junior they wanted to promote. If Mick gets a capable car, if he shows he can hack it, Ferrari WILL sacrifice carlos on the altar. I've seen them do it to better drivers and I'll probably then see them do it to mick himself one day.
this is The Great Ferrari Masterplan. It's not wholesome, it's not what might be best for Mick, it's not even what I want for mick some days. But it's more likely than Mercedes imo.
ALSO lewis has literally just started to hit his peak. His goat status is nowhere near under threat. He could easily do 3-5 more years by which point Mick is either in a totally different situation or, well, gone.

Message to all of Mick’s Fans.
I’m a huge Ferrari supporter, been supporting them since the 80s, and as every tifosi, I would support whoever drove for the red cars. Now, come 1991, and I fall madly, deeply, truly in love with Michael Schumacher and started following him too in spite of the fact that he wasn’t a Ferrari driver. First time that happened.
Then the planets aligned and, not only he switched from Benetton to Ferrari, but what was even better, ended our 21 year drought of World Drivers Championships, winning 5 of them IN A ROW for Scuderia Ferrari.
Why am I telling you this? Well, because after his first retirement (too soon and too abrupt), he decided to grace us with his presence on the grid in 2010.
WITH MERCEDES.
Of all teams he could have joined, he joined the one I would have found it pretty much impossible to support without creating a massive conflict of interests. Guess what? I managed to do it, simply because my love and admiration for Michael Schumacher transcended any team he raced for, even if they were the ones who powered Michael’s archenemy Mika Hakkinen.
I know it’s not comparable but, the same way I managed to separate the team from the driver, back then, it’s the same way I’m going to separate Mick Schumacher, who I support with pretty much the same passion I did his father, from the team he’s going to be driving for.
It helps that his side of the garage will be full of Ferrari mechanics and engineers, they will just be wearing a Haas uniform instead of the all red I love so much. So yeah, what I’m saying is that to me Mick is just driving for Ferrari, heck he’s even getting paid by them. The colour of the car is just a little different than I’m used to.
And I will also pretend that the other side of the garage is occupied by a literal Moving Chicane, placed there to help Mick practice the overtaking skills he’s studying right now. That is, if he ever finds himself behind it, which I hope will be as fewer times as humanly possible.
Just thought of sharing with you my plans, in case you guys need help figuring out how to continue following Mick Schumacher, who I’m sure you all agree deserves our support and love, now more than ever.
And last but not least, if you want to buy merch but don’t want Haas to get rich with your money, here’s an easy solution for you: go to Mick’s shop (you can find a link on Mick’s IG and Twitter profile). A portion of the sales goes to support the Keep Fighting Foundation, created by the Schumacher family to support those less privileged, who with their help, can excel in different fields. So, not only you will be able to show off your Mick merch, but you’ll be helping a good cause too.
Thank you for reading!

All right, salty cunty moment here: so guess Cheatco didn't convince Max to hand him his home race pole and win, right? His times, even though he improved vastly in Q3, were pretty abysmal for someone running in a WCC winning car... Ferrari's pace was pretty bad too, not sure what happened, but for sure some spanish driver is gonna have some bitter pill to swallow tonight while looking at a younger british driver standing at p2 on the grid instead of him...
... With how much MV detests racing and is only there for the wins, are we surprised? All the criticism hurled at Lewis can be literally seen with Max and people ignore it bc racist and white privilege.
All the cars were suffering from the high altitude and Mercedes seem to have made a solid step with their newest floor and wing. Ferrari, at least for this weekend, is not just the team for us to beat, it is who we're fighting and who we're currently (i say that cautiously) overtaking and have been since the summer break, sure it's not always reflected in results (bc aeiou toyed with George in Singapore and Suzuka) and it's been a long way since Spa but the steps this team has taken are massive. Even in America we were a lot closer to them than before (aside from Carlos who got himself yeeted out for driving three lines at once and George who had enough damage to make his team think he'll dnf and still somehow got fastest lap because he's that bitch)-
Really Max is the one to beat because unfortunately he has the most complete package this year: talented driver with the best (illegal) car. Charles messed up too much for Ferrari to be in contention and Ferrari messed up too and we all know miss W13 is a mess.
George could get the same results as Carlos in the Ferrari. But could Carlos get the same results out of the W13? in his first year in the team? After seeing him race for the third fastest team with a pace difference to the front that equates to about a second for three years (bc the ferrari year counts): I'm afraid not.

I was intending to try and sleep again but of course instead downstairs is fucking drilling now (I thought the work was done??) so instead I'm reading up on the regulation changes for next year's F1 season and...fucking hell FIA, just take all the fun out of the engineering yeah??
I mean I'm all for levelling the playing field a bit, it'd be fun to see more teams (remember when we had three backmarker teams and not just Haas trundling along minding their own business?), more midfield fights (Sauber, I miss thee), more open-ended championships (so excited for next year's McLaren, hopefully Ferrari can get fully back in the mix too), but this is extreme. Standardising and restricting nearly everything, removing staples of aerodynamic design, it takes so much ingenuity and fun out of things. If they were this prescriptive in years past we'd never have got the brilliance that was the 2009 season with Brawn coming from absolutely nowhere to dominate with that double rear diffuser, or that ridiculous (complimentary) F-duct system McLaren had in 2010 where they took the fight to Red Bull by having the drivers gain speed by literally covering up a hole in the cockpit with their leg.
Personally I think the only actual technical regulations there should be in F1 are ones designed purely for safety, and as long as a design idea doesn't compromise any drivers, pit crew etc. it should be fair game. I do like the budget limits preventing the big teams from just throwing money at development in a way lower competitors can't, but other than that just let engineers engineer. Mercedes should've been allowed to keep that double DRS system from a few years back, same with last year's dual-axis steering wheel, I mean fuck I wanna see some really weird shit again, remember back in the 70s when Tyrell had a six-wheel car??
This isn't just a sport of competitive driving, it's competitive pitstop speeds, competitive tyre strategy, competitive engineering, a good amount of the fun at the start of every season is seeing what bold, absurd new ideas the teams come up with to gain an advantage and the more we homogenize the cars the less of that we can enjoy.
