I got some cool Julie And The Phantoms merch for my 24th birthday!!!! A JATP backdrop, a JATP blanket, a JATP bracelet, and some JATP stickers. Over all I had a pretty great birthday. Also I did finish reading the second JATP book and it was pretty good.

Ohhhh the HGC... here we go...

Okay but I get how Luke is so easily swept up in Caleb's spell at first, cause this may very well be the first time he's had an adult, especially an adult who is a musician/performer, encourage his performance dreams.

Also, Nick has now seen the 'projector' and turned it on and off. There's no way he isn't gonna have some questions as soon has he thinks about it. The new guy found someone!!!

I feel like every time I watch this first HGC episode, I have more questions about Willie and his background there. Cause like... he genuinely enjoys the show. He has fun jumping in and dancing. He tells the guys they should come back for movie nights. But also... he knows about the stamp, he's clearly seen it in action before. He knows Caleb is dangerous, but he doesn't think he's a danger to Alex and the other guys, despite them having ghostly abilities that he's never seen before. I just... I have so many questions...

YO do the rhinestones on the lining of Caleb's jacket match the ribbons Julie wears in her hair a couple times?!!!

Yup boys suck. Flynn, you are a great bestie and I love you.

Are there any objects or items you see during the day that remind you of jatp or a certain jatp character?

It might be easier to mention objects I see during the day that don't remind me of JATP because that's how my brain works now but a few specific ones:

Almost every day at lunch I end up parked behind a Juke Nissan car and my brain just goes JUKE

We sell beanies at the library where I work so obviously my brain goes LUKE

I love a flannel shirt and I sometimes catch myself thinking "sadness flannel" when I put them on so that's also a Luke reminder

I have a lot of Star Wars items, because of course I do and pretty much every time I walk by my Episode 1 print I think "What's a Jar Jar?" and think of my guy Reggie

I don't think this is what you're asking but I have...quite a few JATP inspired items...shirts, earrings, a hoodie, stickers, keychains, art cards, my printed fanfic, art my friends have done...so yeah, plenty of JATP thoughts in my daily life 💜

just thinking about my first day at my current job I was at lunch with my manager & coworker and they noticed I had JATP stickers in the back of my phone case (they were a gift so I had to display them okay) and my coworker asked, “What are your stickers from?” so I had to explain to my very first big girl job’s manager & coworker about how I love a show about a girl and her ghost band.

(they both told me it sounded cool, so clearly I’m in the right place)

Let's get the band back together

Luke returns home to the town he grew up in, and finds it no longer the place he remembers. Meanwhile, Reggie's enjoying life as it comes, yet can't help but feel something is missing. Bobby's just saving to get out on the other hand, but needs to wait a little bit longer. And Alex would say he's happy if anyone asks, but times are changing. Sometimes childhood friends grow apart and childhood dreams never come true. Sometimes you go back home and find the place you loved to be unfamiliar. Sometimes the world isn't as perfect as people promised it would be in your childhood. And, sometimes childhood friends do fall back together and, even if their childhood dreams don’t come true, sometimes happiness and laughter and love can be found anyway. Sometimes, you come home and sometimes you make a home to come home to.

A JATP fanfic that talks a bit about coming home, a bit about finding people, and a bit about music. But, most of all, I think it's about friends. Some of my favourite quotes are below the line, feel free to take a look if you're interested!

From where he unearthed it, his bass glares up at him, case dusty and faded but still with covered with stickers from all those years ago. Swallowing, Reggie reaches out and smooths down one of the peeling corners. The past feels a lot closer than it has in a long, long time.

Luke hadn’t been like the rest of them. Luke had always hungered for more, chasing the thin line on the horizon that called itself fame. Luke had never really been Luke without the music, and some part of Reggie—even then—had always known that. Except, things are different now. Luke’s back and they’re- Well, Reggie’s not entirely sure. All he knows is that his fingers are sore from the few times he picks up an instrument now, and he’s had meals with both Alex and Luke. Change is coming, but it’s slow and steady. Reggie looks forward to it.

And so, really, all it comes down to, in the end, is Luke sending a message, hope fluttering in his chest and a yearning in his heart. When the others respond, he almost feels like he can fly.

Oh, Alex thinks to himself, it sounds like hope.

Foolishly, stupidly, Alex wants to open his mouth and say: what if we did the impossible and brought the band back together? What if we unlocked those chests and let our childhood dreams fly free again?

Swallowing, Luke drops his bag on his bed, and places his guitar down much more carefully. He looks around, takes in old photographs and old notes. “I’m home,” he says. Only silence answers him.
