~ Oct. 5th ~ Today was a very productive day. I met with the admissions rep from University of Redlands this morning and have been on top of all of my AP Statistics HW these past few weeks. I have to study for a quiz on Tuesday next week but I'm feeling confident! (also sososo sorry i haven't posted anything in weeks, senior year has been stressful but i'm managing) :)

~ Aug. 5th ~ Today I finally got my crap together and started working on my actual Common App during my breaks at work. I also started reading Empire of Storms by Sarah J. ~July 17~ I went to New Orleans for 4 days to visit Xavier at Louisiana and Tulane which has been super fun. I honestly love Tulane but it's gonna be a reach school and I'm not going to get my hopes all the way up!

~ May 25th ~ Yesterday I went to a college fair to make first (and for some, second) impressions. I collected a lot of pamphlets, sheets and information and when I got home, I organized what I had from this trip and other trips into 6 categories. 1. Very Interested 2. Not as Interested but Still Interested 3. Somewhat Interested 4. Not Interested but Not Uninterested 5. Not Interested 6. Need More Information I'm really looking forward to narrowing down choices and starting my Common App.

It’s been a slow week. I’m getting certified to be a life guard this week but I have Tuesday and Thursday off from class. Although, tonight my mom and I are going to see a performance of Gypsy. I’m actually pretty excited about it. Tomorrow I’m having some friends over for a bonfire but other than that my week isn’t full.

I’m trying to read more in my free time rather than play games on my phone which is why I checked “The Body in the Library” by Agatha Christie out from the library!

~ May 19th ~

It’s been so long!! I’ve been quite busy with AP tests, college visits, the hectic time of spring semester junior year, and just I’ve also been lazy about capturing my studying and note-taking.

I’ve created a lot of art in the last couple months and my most recent piece is the “Pear and Grapes” (acrylic still-life) and my next adventure is the medium of oils. My project is to recreate a small detail of one of the “Great Oil Masters” so I’ve chosen a small portion of “The School of Athens” by Raphael. I also created a mask based off of a Sepik Mask. The Iatmul people make beautiful carvings, canoes and masks (among other things) and my birth father was from a village on the Sepik river so this is a small tribute to that part of my ancestry.

~ Mar. 27th ~ Today I visited and toured Oxford at Emory and then Emory itself and can I just say that I'm in complete love. Emory would be considered a reach school based off of my sophomore GPA which is a little disheartening but also great motivation. I love the campus, the people, the opportunities and the small handful of faculty I met. This is the first school where I really felt like I could completely imagine myself at, UNCW is also a college that I really enjoyed but it's nothing to how I feel about Emory.
