Tay had been warned about strange men, taught that if something sounded too good to be true, it probably was. It's no matter. After all, she was smart enough to pick a neutral place. Something tells her it wouldn't be enough of a safety net. Despite it, she hangs on to his every word, and the drink she'd ordered warms in her hand.
After pushing the glass away, she tucks her chair in further. Her fingers knit together when her hands come to rest on the table. Tay should be thinking about his offer, though his presence is far too distracting, as is his unreadability. His scent, even with an explanation, continues to confuse her.
But she's shown her willingness, not having torn her eyes from him for the past forty-five minutes.
@imbalanceofpower: I can give you everything you want.
They soften then, before she casts her glance down to disguise it. She doesn't look back up until she's unlaced her fingers, and she doesn't speak until she's wet her lips.
"Everything?" She asks, innocently. Freedom— to a degree, no pain— she would never have to break a bone again, and immortality— she'll mourn motherhood another time. "Everything," she repeats, this time to herself, like she's testing the weight of his word. It's heavy, it's tempting, and it takes far too much willpower not to tell him yes.
The corners of her lips twitch, "promise me."
