I think the thing that feels really revolutionary about Gideon Nav's lesbianism is that she's not a lesbian in opposition to anything. She doesn't like women instead of men. It's just that her entire sexual world is female.
A lot of time having a gay character seems to necessitate a scene in which they confirm emphatically that they do not like the opposite gender. Gideon doesn't need to do that. She just talks about women all the time (and, lesbian character who is openly and unashamedly horny and actively pursuing women in general outside of once-in-a-lifetime romance, that's its own post entirely) and the absence of any mention of men makes it obvious that she's not interested in them.
And, as a queer person constantly having to explain WHY I don't want this or that, it's really refreshing to see a queer character who is so totally focused on what they DO want and not what they don't.

Yeah Mr L is cool and all but Imagine a Mr L AND a Mr M being partners in crime, like Mario accidentally gets brainwashed along with Luigi, what would be even funnier is the two trying hard to rizz up Peach and Bowser in they’re brainwashed state, it could be pre-established relationships and it would basically go down like this:
Mr M: Hey there blondey, happy to see that pretty face roll back around here, what finally got the courage to ask for my number?~
Mr L: Do you guys come here just to fight again or did you just wanted to see us?~ I mean we couldn’t blame you, we are sights to behold~
Mr M: Hey maybe if you two decide to play nice and finally join us we could give you the pleasure of taking you out~
Peach/Bowser: FOR THE LAST TIME WE’VE BEEN DATING FOR THE PAST YEAR-
*throws this into the crowd and runs*

I can’t be the only one who finds L’s inconsistent eyebrows in the manga really funny, right?
Like, one panel they’re there; the next, they’ve vanished. His eyebrows just… come and go as they please.
Eyebrows?
No eyebrows.
Eyebrows again?
…No eyebrows again.
AHA! Eyebrows.
…aaand they’re gone. (Must simply be a trick of the Light, eh?)
But… seriously. His eyebrows are either raised or nonexistent, and that’s very funny to me for some reason. In the anime, he doesn’t even have them at all, but they seem to pop up as they please in the manga.

#MiniatureMonday
Fairy Tales From Grimm / by Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm with introduction from L. Frank Baum
The Fairy Tales from Grimm is a collection of children's stories written by the Grimm brothers, many of which have been popularized by Disney. This miniature book includes several stories such as the tale of Snow White.
Although the stories were originally published in the 1800s, this copy was produced in 1905. What makes it fantastic is the illustrations in both color and black and white. These drawings beautifully help bring the stories to life.

“I miss them so much,” Light replies, and this, too, is unlike him; typically, getting emotional truth out of Light is worse than pulling teeth. His voice is so small. He feels so small in L's arms, even though he’s almost as tall as L is. “My family. I miss them so much. I miss my house. I miss my parents. I miss my sister. I miss my room.” He makes a wavering little noise. “I miss — everything. I miss trashy konbini food. I miss the city noise when I was falling asleep. I miss getting on the subway at rush hour and being crammed in against everyone's disgusting sweaty bodies and wanting to die even though I did it every day. But I miss them the worst. I feel so alone here. Everyone hates me. I want my mom.”
“Okay,” L says, petting Light’s hair awkwardly. He’s not good at this. He is, in fact, actively bad at this. “That’s understandable,” he continues. “It’s normal to be uncomfortable in a new place. And it’s normal to miss your family.”
“I’m never going to see them again,” Light says, and his voice is so tiny and miserable it’s almost a whimper. “Never, never, never.”
You might have thought of that before becoming the most prolific individual serial killer in the history of the entire world, L thinks but does not say. Instead, his hand trails down to rub Light’s back. Light is trembling, clinging close to L like L is the only thing tethering him to Earth.
“No, I don’t think you will,” L murmurs, low and gentle. — By the brilliant @dykelawlight
