LET ME EXPLAIN.

She's been in hiding. As Lady Cadence.

See, it all adds up. Jolie was dead for 17 years in the beginning of the series, and Lady Cadence was also living with the ogres for 17 years before becoming Sophie's Polyglot mentor.

Jolie was also a Conjurer. Lady Cadence is a Conjurer and a Polyglot. Polyglots often have two abilities, so it wouldn't be impossible for Jolie to be a Polyglot too.

Also, when Jolie's room in Havenfield was being cleared out, they found a bottle of Raven Lovelylocks elixir. LADY CADENCE HAS BLACK HAIR!

Day seventeen: A variety of object recolours!

First, some Sailor Moon painting recolours; This gorgeous still from the Sailor Moon R movie on Two Dogs and an Olive, three manga illustrations (scans via SailorMusic.net) on “How Eloquent” from Apartment Life plus a bonus white gold frame recolour, and then one of Naoko’s iconic melting-face panels edited/redrawn to remove text and slapped on Grilled Cheese.

Second, I was taking a closer look at the Tush Hugger chair from Uni one day (the not-a-beanbag-chair chair) and I realised the textures/patterns on it were really quite nice and I wished I had more opportunities to use them. So, I turned them into curtain recolours. By default these should work for the 1 and 2 tile drapes.

And lastly... some very silly handpainted retextures of the Mr. Bearlybutts chair from basegame. Four cutesy Care Bears/Lady Lovelylocks-inspired colourful teddies, two tigers, a shiba dog, and a red panda.

No meshes required. The paintings require Nightlife and Apartment Life.

Top 5 doll brands? (Based solely on the dolls themselves, not on associated media like films or books)

hmm, good question. it is a bit difficult, i’m less personally familiar with dolls than i am with something like ponies, so i don’t have as much hands-on knowledge to do comparisons of purely the products with. do ponies count…? wikipedia has them in the doll category… i’m assuming they do since you didn’t specify fashion dolls, but if you want me to do a bonus round without including the obvious plastic horses i can lol.

honorable mention: barbie and bratz would obviously normally be up there, but my feelings about those toys are very heavily influenced by their media, so they’re going unranked.

5. moondreamers

i almost put this line a spot higher until i remembered… how only about half of their product lineup actually got released. still, the ones they did get out are aesthetically great. admittedly a lot of my (and other pony-adjacent collectors) interest in it comes from the animals, but the funky space kids have really fun designs. i… don’t actually own any of the kids, but i do know they’re based off of the MLP megan/molly dolls, which i do own, so that’s… some degree of familiarity with the quality. they’re smaller and have thinner rooted hair than i’d prefer, but their plastic definitely seems to age better than the next brand.

4. lady lovelylocks

honestly. the pixietales gimmick is a nightmare these days, and their plastic doesn’t tend to age well, but the dolls themselves just look great when they’re complete with all the different pastel colors and shiny textures. good scale too, not too small. and, well, they made more toys than moondreamers…

3. fashion star fillies

fsf’s are in my opinion the only other brand that’s ever come close to approaching my little pony’s level of design appeal and variety. their molds can be hit or miss but they always use colors well. i’d really like to get more than the one i have.

2. dream beauties. i’m kind of cheating since this is a spin-off of my little pony, but hasbro doesn’t acknowledge them, and they deserve a spot.

dream beauties achieved the perfect balance between the simplified designs of my little ponies and the occasionally uncanny-looking realism of fashion star fillies. they’re big, their sculpt quality is fantastic, they’re beautiful, they don’t have as many aging problems. my little ponies are the best but i think dream beauties are the peak, you know what i mean. i desperately want someone to start making new toys with these molds like HQG1C.
