MANY THINGS ABOUT LANGLEY ! i will tell you some fun facts

- When OK Computer began taking over their body a few years after they awakened it. Its presence started altering their physical appearance and essentially giving her the cosmetic changes she'd wanted (being trans) by manipulating her body. Since some parts were missing OK essentially gave her bottom surgery reconstructing her. 👍

- Her blood is blue . Looks like this basically

- The city OK Computer created is underground and therefore has a ' ceiling ' but it perfectly matches the actual sky because Langley reconstructed it with electronic panels. It doesn't match the weather outside because she doesn't know what's going on on the surface, but is accurate for time. At night it looks like a sky with 0 light pollution which is peace for those that live in the city and want to see it

- Before voice training she originally sounded like HAL 9000 but now theyre more a GLaDOS

oh hi um I'm VERY INTERESTED in the guy trapped in the floor.. even powering a small town would doubtless be draining and that's such an interesting concept really so uh. can i hear some things about them

THANKYOU FOR THIS ASK ^_^ I love langley so much so its langley lore dump time !

You're quite right! even powering a small town would be very draining, even if it's your own stand. however, OK Computer is an underground city spanning the entirety of S City (including morioh; its a suburb of the city and all) . and they're the sole one keeping it up and running . that's why they're sleeping for exactly 20 hours of the day, every single day, and cannot be woken up except during that 4-hour interval .

Not just powering, but they rely on OK Computer for their survival because of how their stand came to be- it would crumble entirely and trigger a massive earthquake if they were ever severed from the ground, and even if they were healed by a stand like Crazy Diamond, they would still slowly die without it . Even without any present injuries. They manage this entire city, their presence allows it to keep its structure . and so they sleep

Langley is in their 30s (around 32), and has been trapped in the chamber of OK Computer for 8 years; since 1997, since they were 24. This has been their life for nearly a decade. Because of only being awake for 4 hours of the day, collectively, langley only LIVES for 60 days out of the year: since 1997, they've only experienced 480 days of life. Just over a year. To them, time is both slowed and stretched out - they don't know its been a decade, or damn close to it .

Now there's alot about Langley so I'm gonna break it up. their stand their experiences . how their body is now. I feel that's important.

OK Computer is.. Complicated. It's a Bound stand, in a way, but also more of a Phenomenon than anything. A massive underground complex spanning all of S City, entirely self-sufficient, with its own secret entrances like Burning Down The House- unrecognizable to non-stand users. That may be true. However, that's only its main ability.

OK Computer appears to have an anomaly that has occurred over the time that Langley has been trapped within its confines. You see, Langley used to be entirely human. It seems, though, that they're transforming into a Sub-Stand of their power, confined by it for so long that they're starting to become one.

Langley is essentially a cyborg now- if you were to rip them from the ground, there would be nothing but inhuman blood and cables linking them to where the ground splits and merges with their flesh . Their skin has changed, their eyes have changed, their voice has done the same.. One day, maybe they'll be nothing more than a robotic husk. But they don't seem to mind . They're happy. But that's mostly because of M (their vrenna...), and Their Seperation From The Floor.

Every single day for 8 years, M has visited their chamber to see them to keep them sane and happy, bringing them all they'd need and news from the outside world. Though they've forgotten to walk, or even how they became like this, she keeps them happy. Keeps them from forgetting more. Without her, they probably would've gone mad years ago.

And its absolutely no secret theyre in love. Despite all the transhumanism triggered against their will and their virtual-imprisonment within their own stand, rendering them unable to ever leave.. Vrenna loves them. and they couldn't be happier really.

Vrenna, in turn, loves them so much that she was willing to risk everything to give Langley the chance to move again

You see, there's a tech kid in this awful, godforsaken organization. Rihito happens to be an incredibly skilled mechanic, one with skills that top those of a professional, despite his age. When he joined the Org, Vrenna spent weeks discussing with Langley to debate whether or not to bring in Rihito to sever them from the ground - leaving their most vital tubes and cables intact to keep ok computer from crumbling. And they decided that it was. And. well . I cant explain it any better than these messages I sent

" vrenna having langley relax for a few days beforehand while she plots the disconnect out . and doing it while langley is sleeping so that they don't get nervous and sever the wires

langley waking up suddenly laying fully on their back . feeling more free than they have in years . rihito is down by their legs still connecting a few stray wires back in and attaching prosthetics so they dont just have open stumps to cables where their legs cut off

vrenna is there looking on so happily. langley doesn't know how to process they're so excited they could cry

nothing went wrong. theyre still attached to Ok Computer by several thick cables at the center of the room but now they have enough space to MOVE . all the way to the corners of the room even. they're not trapped anymore . "

These days, Langley has more room to move. they can't ever leave that chamber without killing hundreds and themself, but atleast they have Vrenna. Atleast they can hold her. It tormented them that they couldn't wrap around and cradle her before; the limits of their body made it awkward to try and cuddle, made most physical contact difficult .

And. Langley doesn't exactly need the affection. but they crave it. they never wished for a world outside those walls until they fell in love with Vrenna, and this is the closest they can get

additional extra facts too because why not;

- blue blood . quite literally. when they get all flustered from vrenna's affection or even get injured, the bloodrush is a deep teal

- I know I posted this already but they sound like hal 9000 and it makes me crazy
