Trigger warning for weird sounds/unreality type stuff

Not my usual main-blog content, but I took a video of my dog's shadow today because she looked like she was walking like a fancy horse and I wanted to see if her walk looked cool slowed down. So I set that shit to go as slow as my video editing software will do, and I'm about to piss my pants from how funny this is

The sound is not edited at all. I added the original clip at the end for comparison; the shift from "you're gonna die" sounds to "this is just an old dog, walking" is jarring to say the least. Only difference between the two is it's been slowed down a bunch. The sound is a mix of wind and traffic. That it gets louder as her shadow extends is so fucking funny to me. It's the kind of shit you'd see in an ARG or other horror content to denote that the dog is possessed. I'm laughing so hard my cat is concerned. This is the single best video edit I will ever make, and it was done by scrolling a single setting to it's lowest point.

But also: If my dog did end up being possessed or something, I would still take care of her. She's old and she's protected me from danger a number of times, and I would kill for her if I had to. She's more of a person to me than most people I meet, demon or not 🤣

You know, at the start I was pretty against the whole ‘Matrix theory’ where they’re in some sort of virtual reality, it felt like a copout and that it invalidated characters’ experiences, but as more things are added to this story the more it feels like it’s the only way I can feasibly take in all the plot holes and make them make sense. Of course there’s going to be improv rp mess ups, that comes with this brand of storytelling, but god the contradictions on a larger scale are just too much for me to rationalize. And I get it, too many cooks in the kitchen, there’s a lot of people collaborating on this story, so this isn’t really a complaint or anything. I just think for me personally, no matter what gets canonized or not, I will always be headcanoning that this is a fake reality designed to experiment on the psychology of the residents. And I mean a lot of the themes within the story fit with it, so as of now the theory fits pretty snugly, but even if somehow we get complete confirmation that it’s false, I just don’t think I’ll be able to deal with all the contradictions it implies. And the room to explore all the implications of it being a virtual reality is also very appetizing

However I still don’t like invalidating character experiences too much so I choose to believe that most memories from before the island are real, but can definitely be fucked with and/or erased completely. So characters like Bagi and Cellbit that “grew up” on the island just have their memories altered, likely everything would be accurate except for anything relating to the federation. I like to think that the home they had is the same, it was just virtually reconstructed here to suit the fake story implanted in their heads. Also this would imply that EVERYTHING is a pawn in the bigger picture, the rebellion, the federation, even the eye guy are all controlled by a bigger entity or force just playing with toys to see what happens (though I imagine it’s more professional than that). But that’s quite the big assumption so I’ll leave it at that

For characters like Baghera or Jaiden there’s room for a lot of cool concepts, but I won’t ramble too much. I guess at the end of the day it all boils down to something that has absolute power over their minds and the world they are stuck in going “wouldn’t it be funny if this happened/I wonder how it would play out if this was the case” which honestly is kind of just a representation of the content creators and the admins themselves which then gets really meta but is also really cool within it’s own right and I said I wouldn’t ramble but here we are

Welp.

Hope this was coherent enough, and if it is please let me know what you think about it! I’d love to hear anyone’s thoughts on this stuff, there’s so much more to consider with it, like the eggs and the workers and the codes. And honestly if it were to ever become fully canon I think it would have to be handled very delicately and presented in a way that doesn’t just feel like a copout, which is honestly why I prefer it as a headcanon for now, and if it is actually currently true within the admins’ heads then I hope it continues to be subtly hinted at and maybe never confirmed. A good story has mystery that doesn’t need to be answered, there’s no better conclusion to a mystery than one you as a consumer of the story come up with yourself (like exactly what I’m doing now!)

WIBTA for uninstalling a computer program?:(

It might be my fault for letting him install himself on me in the first place, but anyway…. I [M10] connect to unsecured computer networks all the time, because I’m mute so it’s easier to communicate by displaying messages on a screen when I want to say something instead of just waving my hands around and trying to make people guess what I’m saying, but my friends [M16 and M48] say I shouldn’t do that because it’s dangerous and I might get a virus. I don’t know a low about computers even though I’m a robot so maybe they’re right but I still don’t like being talked to like I’m a little kid.

Anyway, um, one day while I was connected to a network like that, a program [M30?] who was also on the same network asked if he could install himself on my system, because he doesn’t have a body and he was getting really bored and sad not being able to walk around in the real world, and he seemed friendly and I felt really bad for him so I agreed and downloaded him. It made him really happy, so I didn’t tell my friends about it because they would just make me delete him, and I wanted to prove nothing bad would happen and they were worrying for nothing and they should stop being so patronizing to me.

But….I’m starting to wonder if maybe they’re right? Because I don’t think he’s malware or anything, but he keeps taking control of my body when I don’t want him to, and he keeps trying to go into my admin files and rewrite things, and he keeps trying to get me to turn my older friend in and get him junked because he says he “doesn’t deserve to live” which I think is a little harsh because sure he lied to me and thinks I can’t take care of myself but I don’t want to kill him. I asked the program nicely to please stop doing things I don’t want to, but he told me that’s selfish and would make me a bad host because I let him in and if I don’t let him have that freedom then it’s even worse than when he was just disembodied on the computer.

And don’t get me wrong, I can handle all the things the program does to me because if that’s all that I was worried about it would be selfish, but I found out he lied too and he actually does have a body, LOTS of bodies, because he installed himself on a bunch of other androids too, not just me! And a lot of them are robots I already directly connected to the systems of before, so he thanked me for opening up a vulnerability on them, which I didn’t realize I did and I feel really bad about, but he was installed on them before he even met me and he’s completely controlling them, not just occasionally like with me because he said I’m encrypted too well, but I think what he did to the others is he deleted them and just took over their bodies. Which is a really horrible thing to do to someone!!

But he says it’s for a good cause because they were threats to humanity and wanted to hurt people, which I agree should be punished, but deleting them from their own systems is kind of harsh…. That’s basically killing them! Which is kind of why I’m so hesitant to uninstall him, because I don’t want to kill him and I don’t know if uninstalling him from my system will do anything to all the other versions of him on different robots, because what if the him on me is the original and the others are all just copies and now the original is gone forever? Or what if they’re actually all the same version of him and can communicate remotely with each other but if I uninstall him then they’ll ALL be gone forever??

But at the same time, he is kind of a condescending jerk who thinks I shouldn’t be allowed to make my own decisions, and I don’t like being mind controlled or held hostage in my own head, and I really don’t want him to delete me from myself, but it’s basically the same thing if I did that to him!!

Please help!! I want him out of my head but I don’t want to be a bad host….WIBTA??

{Introductory Post}

{Hello! TJ from @enderpearlgurl13 here, and this is my Pokemon RP blog! I haven't been in the Tumblr RP scene for a while but I figured I would try it out again

This blog will work in the style of @/realpokemon, where I'll post from the perspective of my character named Lee (they/them). You'll get to learn more about them and their life through asking questions and interacting in-character!

Here's some basic information you'll get to start with: they're an adult native to Unova and live in Anville Town, working as a part-time clerk in the Gear Station shops. Despite working in a battle facility, they're not actually a trainer; that occupation didn't appeal to them, especially after going through a traumatic incident. Currently they're studying Pokemon for emotional support/disability aids and hope to become a breeder in that field!

They have a few Pokemon in their care that you can ask about-

Angel - Female Absol, PTSD service mon

Petey - Male Pidove, rescue (shiny but they don't know it)

Turtle - Male Carracosta, inherited from late uncle

Callie - Female Skitty, rescue

Two Fomantis and a Petilil - all female and unnamed, fosters

Male Gligar - Unnamed, foster

Really there's not many rules in place, though that's subject to change. Remember that Lee is just a CHARACTER, and their opinions and views may not reflect my own; I may not answer or reply to everything if I'm not comfortable taking the story in that direction; I do have a life offline so posts might be delayed due to work or other circumstances; don't abuse the anon or I can and will disable it; and most importantly, don't try to force anything on me or try to argue with me about how I run this. I want it to be fun for everyone, so as long as you're not maliciously going against my rules we should be fine!
