"Esteemed journalist (Reader L/N) has gone missing while covering the.."

The radio was drowned out by the vehicle hitting a rock, earning an aggravated groan from one of the men. Angrily, he slammed his fist on the dash board, as though he could intimidate the radio into working better. A couple of his brothers chuckled while the rookie squirmed nervously in his seat.

"Fucking, shit ass-" Adrian "Clank" Muigg muttered, quietly releasing a stream of curses in a very thick accent towards the machine.

(Most nicknames in the military were neither cool, nor had a badass backstory, most had fairly humorous or demeaning origins; Muigg, fresh out of boot camp, murdered an innocent television set in an attempt to fix it, which changed his name from "Big Bastard" to "Clank".)

The youngest man there prayed he wasn't visibly sweating. "Is everything alright, sir?"

Boston, the bushy browed man at the wheel, laughed with his entire chest. "That radio lady's talking 'bout the love of Clank's life!"

Clank felt the back of his neck heat up, and had to redirect his anger into tapping his foot to prevent himself from whacking Boston.

"I didn't know you had a partner?"

"He don't! HA! It's a one-sided, puppy love!" Boston joyfully mocked his best mate. "He's got that reporter-person's picture 'bove his bed, and has every article they've ever written. It's very sweet!"

Bright blue eyes warned Boston of the danger he was playing with, but Boston payed him no mind, causing more anxiety in the new recruit.

It was true, however, that Clank had a star struck crush on the journalist. They were brave in a way Clank hadn't seen before, the kind of bravery that made an unarmed civilian put their life in danger to expose the world to the horrors of war. This wasn't the first warzone (Reader) had willingly gone into, but it was the first time their mission overlapped with Clank's.

They were covering the battle Clank was involved in.

And it enraged him.

While their bravery is what initially drew him to them and their work, the longer he followed (Reader) the harder it got for him to read about the danger they got into. Weren't they fearful for their own life?? Why didn't they care for themselves as much as he cared for them??

The nearly six foot eight man had fantasized many times about what he would say and do if he got the opportunity to meet (Reader). He had an entire monologue prepared that exemplified his adoration for their work without ousting himself as a borderline obsessive fanboy.

However, that entire speech was forgotten when Clank burst into the room three hostages were being held in after killing the hostiles within the building, and found himself face to face with (Reader) in the flesh.

They stood defiantly, arms outstretched to protect the two other reporters behind them, not even wearing a bullet proof vest, ready to sacrifice themselves to save their coworkers.

Clank lowered his weapon, numbed by the sudden influx of confusing, and conflicting, emotions.

He was hurt, because he finally got to meet (Reader), and they were prepared for him to kill them.

He was enamored, because even with dirt clogging their pores, hair matted with sweat and drying blood, skin bruising and swollen, they were still the single most radiant being he had ever laid eyes upon.

And he was angry. Why wasn't (Reader) cowering like a good little civilian? Didn't they know that they could die? Why didn't they care about their life?

"I'm here to rescue you." Clank's voice was robotic, and unattached. It didn't feel like he was the one saying it, as the three frightened adults relaxed, scrambling over to his side. "Follow me."

He watched his object of affection as they obliviously helped lead the other two hostages down the stairs to the military vehicle. Their right eye was nearly swollen shut, but they were supporting a grown ass man with a slight limp. Clank imagined blowing the man's brains out.

As they made it down to where the group could see Clank's team, (Reader) released their friend and attempted to go back up the stairs. Still experiencing his out of body conundrum, Clank grabbed their arm forcefully, hard enough to earn a yelp from his favorite celebrity.

"Where the hell do you think you're going?" He seethed, hissing the question between his clenched teeth to prevent himself from screaming it. The other two greedily ran outside to Boston's embrace, leaving them alone in the building.

"My footage, they kept it upstairs." Professional as always, the diligent champion of justice kept calm despite the feeling as though their arm would snap in Clank's fist.

"That is not important!"

"You don't know what I saw! It is, and I need the evidence, the proof, of what I saw!"

"Clank, where are you?" Boston's voice on Clank's radio distracted him enough for (Reader) to snake out of his grasp, bolting back up into the building.

"Shit-!" He pulled out his walkie as he ran up behind the surprisingly quick journalist. "Everything's good, I'll be down in a few minutes, start taking the others back."

"Uh, no? Excuse me-"

"That's an order."

"Clank-"

"I said; that's an order."

The violently pissed off man holstered his radio as he charged up the stairs three steps at a time.

His precious (Reader) had taken it too far this time.

Even if they didn't care about their own life, he cared. He loved them, adored them, worshipped them, so how fucking dare they continuously put their life in danger like this?

If they were to be wed one day, their life would be his. And that was downright disrespectful.

(Reader) could be heard rifling through cabinets and cupboards through the door of the first room on the floor above the one they were held prisoner on. Clank attempted to cool his rage before entering, wishing to not scare his future spouse again.

Glancing up only briefly, the adult of smaller stature offered a meak smile before going back to searching. "I'm sorry for that.. I don't mean to make your job difficult, but this is really important. We almost died for this footage; hell, LeDoux had his knee cracked open by one of those- his knee must be killing him."

Their words repeating in Clank's eardrums played over the exclamation of (Reader) finding their equipment. (Reader) almost died, for what? Nothing was more important than their life.

"I'm sorry?" Bloodshot eyes stared wide with confusion from under pursed eyebrows.

Without realizing it, Clank had spoken his thoughts out loud. But, perhaps this was for the best. They would have to learn the truth sooner or later. "Nothing is worth your life." He doubled down as he slowly approached (Reader).

It took a lot more energy forcing himself to smile than he wanted. Clank had never been so stressed or angry or conflicted in his entire life.

"That isn't for you to say." Sharp words responded with a huff, thrusting the camera into a duffel bag.

Clank released a humorless laugh. "You are like a small dog, aren't you, my dear?" His muscles were tensing under his uniform, and although (Reader) couldn't see it, they could feel the dangerous shift in his mannerisms. "You do not know of the danger you are in, so you bark loudly."

Although a pit of fear weighed down their stomach, the much weaker of the two hid it well, scoffing, and moving to stroll past Clank, praying that he was bluffing.

A harsh slap to their cheek confirmed that he was being serious, sending the already injured (Reader) to the floor.

Before they could scramble to their feet, a heavy, steel toed boot was placed firmly on their chest, pressing the air out of their lungs.

(Reader) could feel the blood rush to their head as they struggled to breath.

Clawing at Clank's shin and calf didn't move him.

"It is not your fault, that you are such a little dog. But, like all little dogs, you must be trained. Yes?"

Not a single word could be uttered. Black spots bounced around (Reader's) vision.

Clank eased up on the pressure just enough for oxygen to fill his love's deprived lungs. Between coughs and sputters, (Reader) only got out "Stop-" before his heel was digging into their sternum again.

"Tsk tsk tsk.. Now, I don't want to do this, but I have to. For us. So you must obey me, little puppy. Now, what do dogs say?"

(Reader) glared up at him in pain and hatred, sneering as angry tears welled up in their puffy eyes.

"Woof.." The pitiful bark was spat out.

"Ah ah ah." He wagged a finger at them in a chastising fashion. "Be nice, little puppy." His weight increased warningly, squeezing out a pained cry.

".. Woof."

Seeing the person Clank had loved for the past four years under his boot, writhing, flushed in the face, glistening eyes staring up at him and only him.. Clank could feel himself stiffening, and it disturbed him. Why did seeing his beloved cry in pain give him a hard on?

No, it is not because they are crying in pain.

Clank smiled, warping the situation to rationalize his hard cock pressing against his zipper. It was that they were being obedient for him.

Another cry rang out, louder this time, as Clank accidentally put too much weight on (Reader's) ribcage, lost in thought while admiring their pathetic face.

Their resolve to do as Clank said to avoid more pain was immediately forgotten when they felt his large hands tug at their pants.

"What are you doing?" They yelled in fright, whipping their head back to look at him before having their skull smashed into the floor, holding them down.

"Training, remember? For someone known for their intelligence, you sure are a moron. Bark, bitch."

Tears mixed in with snot, as (Reader) snarled "Fuck you!"

Clank removed his hand from their soft hair to firmly grasp their hips with both of his hands, pulling (Reader) onto his dick. "Incorrect."

"No!" (Reader) screamed, feeling Clank's bare member as it entered them painfully all in one thrust without lubrication. As they cried out, a slap to their ass rang out through the nearly empty room.

"What do dogs say?"

"Fuck you!" Another painful slap left a welt that would certainly bruise.

"You want to act like a bitch, putting your life in danger as though it doesn't matter, you're going to be treated like a bitch!" Clank raised his voice, terrifying his victim. "Now, what do dogs say?"

Whereas for (Reader) this was a nightmare, joy was already melting away Clank's anger.

"See, this will be better, for both of us. When we get back, you'll quit your job, and I can finally take care of you."

I kind of love that we're all picking up on something new and indefinable with Lando and Oscar and it makes our hearts do a little squeeze without fully knowing why. I'm basically finding myself repeating everyone else's tags on landoscar gifsets. and it made me think about why and how Lando has had two main support systems in terms of friendships up til now. there's the F1 alphas/extroverts and then there are his childhood besties.

F1

so like every guy or group of guys I've seen with Carlos somehow admit he's in the alpha position and rotate around him as the leader. it's very much like Daniel even though Carlos and Daniel aren't much alike outside of that (Daniel makes noise to be the leader, Carlos just exists as a leader). for an ambivert like Lando, Carlos and Daniel are great places to be when he's getting pulled under. they're typical straight alpha types who don't believe in getting stuck in their heads or feelings (Carlos' 'mental health' ad basically being go to the gym and stay productive to not feel sad lol) and they exist in a kind of nonstop monologue. so little Lando can just bob along in the current and know that he'll laugh and forget whatever ails him. very much like what he needed Carlos for after the Mexico race when he looked so drained and ended up magically chipper again in Brazil (in reality bc of friendship and not a solid dicking down as I have tagged in a lot of places). or that private plane ride with Daniel where Lando looked twelve years old and so happy. Lando clearly needs to feel small again sometimes and these are the guys who can do that.

Childhood

Max F obviously has that role of truth-telling and soul-baring that honestly I could see Lando not being able to live without. the friend/soulmate you can't hide anything from. I'm absolutely projecting at this point as someone who feels verrrry simpatico with Lando's personality (as we're allowed to see it) but having that person who can love you while being honest and real with you is so SO SO needed. but! there are times when it's too much and they know that you need to just float for a while. I feel like there's that core group of guys in the Max F circle who are all to different degrees like this with Lando. they're much more his equals in power dynamic too.

Oscah??

I think this is where Oscar exists in like a third, unexplored space. he's been caught in 4K as a Lando fanboy but he's also got sleepy cat personality so you can only tell from the internet evidence and from the way his eyes track Lando every time they're in the same rough vicinity that he's still fairly starstruck.

to me it's like Oscar hasn't quite shaken the norm of watching Lando on his phone screen and he almost forgets that he's supposed to be the one interacting with Lando in the challenges etc.

now if you've watched the Prema content on YT you'll know that Oscar, while still sleepy and placid, absolutely knew how to play up for social media content. sure the pressure wasn't that high and he'd known some of those boys for years by then. but his timing was solid and he adopted a sarcastic voice-of-reason role to bounce off the other guys. but what's so endearing about the McLaren content is that Oscar has basically positioned himself as guest star in the Lando Show. it's like he's so relieved at how good Lando is at media content that he spends a lot of his role in it watching what Lando is doing. I'm serious when I say it seems like he forgets he's not watching Lando on a screen like he always used to.

I do however think it's a confident and conscious decision that he made to not even bother trying to be another Carlos or Daniel - or to try and copy paste a little of the banter he'll have seen Lando have in Quadrant videos. I really love that Oscar's said you know what I'm being me and it so happens I'm nothing like those other people in Lando's content.

but !! you know who's personality and sense of humor Oscar most resembles? Max F. dry humor, sleepy but can get riled up and fun when they're feeling it. sort of fondly exasperated with Lando a lot of the time. I loved the stream of Max watching the Most Likely To with Lando and Oscar because he sided with Oscar so many times and appreciated Oscar bringing up the birthday issue.

and I think that's where for Lando he's still pretty damn thrown by Oscar - not in a bad way, just still uncertain. Oscar doesn't fit with Lando's extroverted F1 world. Oscar's plenty friendly with the rest of the grid (and obv Logan) but he's choosing to largely go under the radar and he runs his social media very lowkey even during some of the major highs he's had his rookie season. he's there to race F1 cars and when that's over he's got a very good brain in his head and plenty of options. he doesn't have the same insecurities that a lot of the drivers admit to having. Lando can't rely on Oscar being a typical F1 driver to understand him.

to finally come around to some kind of point I think what we're seeing is Lando and Oscar tiptoeing around a friendship that would probably develop very fast and easily if it weren't for the F1 pressure and expectations. we're seeing Lando unusually flustered by how easy he gets Oscar's attention and how he seemingly can't annoy or inadvertently piss off Oscar even if he tries to wind him up in videos or if he gets lost in admiration for his own trophy while Oscar shrugs off his own P14 finish and smiles at Lando. I genuinely think that level of undemanding affection has Lando sort of squirmy in an adorable way.

and Oscar clearly went into the personal side of his relationship to Lando of just enjoying whatever he gets and not trying to be someone he isn't. rookie seasons are already so pressure packed and the drama with Alpine followed by the rough start McLaren had won't have helped. he's just trying to do his job and prove his place and honestly isn't bothering to hide that he's baffled and flustered at finding himself interacting with Lando Norris the way Carlos Sainz and Daniel Ricciardo were. it's easier to just let people see that Lando can wrap him around his finger.

when all the time, if they'd met via Max F or mutual non-F1 friends, Oscar would fold right into Lando's group like butter on toast. I think that's what we pick up on with either or both of them getting shy and crushing on each other like new best friends at school. F1 has picked them up and put a camera on them and we're watching them slowly learn if it's okay to put an arm around each other or sit very close or touch the other person's hair. because they know this is very Real FriendTM friend potential and they don't want to spook each other and their feelings could so easily be hurt if they thought the other person didn't want to be friends as much or if they'd turn their back on them in front of their other friends.

they're not interacting as Typical Blokes by horseplay or teasing or being loud and they're not Just Guys Bein Dudes using humor and sarcasm to figure out the pecking order.

most of the time they're so shy or Lando's in a mood and Oscar finds it adorable and they're watching each other so closely the whole time like this and aauuuuhhggggg it's so vulnerable and sweet.

that's how it feels to me anyway and why I'm so ???!!! watching them interact. and sidenote I'm so so glad Oscar is so steady and can celebrate Lando no matter what. bc Lando admits he struggles with that in turn and after the many times it's been tested it's clearly never going to be something that breaks them before they can continue to get closer <3

I'm glad you watched another playthrough of the devil in me bc sgfs run made it look so bad I wondered if he had missed some absolutely crucial game choice but no I guess it really is just like that

the shit makes no sense. im going to "spoil" it rn but like. you can't spoil this game. theres no twist theres just a fucked up guy who walks at you. the killer was killerman. you win prize money.

like lets do a quick list of what was good ("good") and what wasnt. most of these are just going to be moments or isolated plot elements

THE BAD:

it wasnt as accidentally funny as their previous games. accidentally funny i mean.

it had the audacity to end with someone picking up the h.h. holmes mask (not a thing that exists btw. no one is making these except like custom on etsy. its so fucking suspicious) like "oooh hes going to do it agaiiiin!" but he got chopped up by a boat propeller. no he isnt

the areas and parts where certain players were "supposed" to die were REALLY telegraphed and detrimental to the pacing of an already artificially bloated plot

why was there a dog that hated the murderer living on the island waiting to bite the shit out of him. whose dog was that. why was there dog. cheap emotional fodder tossed in at the end.

the opening kill is legitimately unpleasant to watch. they forgot that the kills are supposed to be gruesome and not stomach churningly sadistic or remind me of holocaust movies

the characters are genuinely awful and boring people who hate each other. not a single lifeline to be had. even the dog shows up too late for you to establish any kind of friendship

the reason why no one has cell phones is because a guy who is tricking them into taking his place as the murder victims just takes them as part of the "experience". they're a fucking film crew lol. theres no way

i legit thought it was going to end up being a team of people bc he was somehow everywhere at once doing the slow jason walk

instead it's one man, an ex-FBI agent who was abused by his mom and gets talked into doing serial murder by the single lamest serial killer monologue ive ever heard in my life. its just a guy who decided to try something different one day. and then i guess he built a murder hotel after faking his death so he could do more murder. this sucks. i dont care about this.

the plot elements are completely random. the animatronics made out of PEOPLE (they apparently did not get the news that they were beat to this idea by a solid near decade) have nothing to do with anything at all. not h.h. holmes, not murder hotel. they're just there for no reason. they barely even get used.

and they had the audacity to show him MAKING animatronics OF THE 5 FILM CREW MEMBERS after they arrived on the island. this game takes place over the course of one day. he did not do this. there is no way. this game stretches the player's suspension of disbelief too far.

the writing on the mom and the serial killer is pathetic lol. its rough to see evil attempted by people who can only conceptualize it in terms of physical violence

THE "GOOD"

the ending is so bad that its ballsy. it cuts to a news reporter talking about how they are still finding bodies in the hotel where 5 person groups were tricked into staying so that they could be murdered. the ppl watching the report are interrupted by their friend who tells them her viral video won a contest (dog its 2022 lol) and the prize is that 5 of them get to stay in a mysterious hotel owned by a man with the same name as the guy they were just talking about.

then it zooms into the email the girl got telling her that she won and that one image of h.h. holmes is just in the window

did he make the little graphic announcing she has won? did he deliberately include himself? did he not notice somehow that he was in the picture. did he set up a timer and run up to the top floor so he could be very spooky and mysterious

HOW could he POSSIBLY afford another murder house. the invoice for the first one on the private island is IN THE GAME and its an eye popping amount. he does NOT have another house like where is he getting the money? or getting it zoned? or tricking ANOTHER construction team into building death traps that are suspiciously like the ones on the news

theres a part where a woman is stuck in a closet having an anxiety/asthma attack and the scary murder man gives her her inhaler. for some reason. this is never explained

why did he have ultra specific recordings of his mom commenting on what time he arrives and what page of his baby book he looks at. or what time it is.

theres phonographs and creepy music playing everywhere and no one turns them off like "what the fuck!!!" they're just like ooooh no im being menaced SSOOOO much

why was one of the crew members friends with someone who was strangled by "the campus strangler". as far as i can tell this adds nothing to the story, it just freaks her. as the player i dont care bc the the killerman just finds this out somehow and finds a copy of the paper where they used a photo taken of her, her friend and the strangler. guess which one is the strangler:

how could they identify his fake dead body from "dental records". they explicit say this. did he fucking glue a set of teeth into the guys mouth. is he toothless throughout the whole game. is he wearing fake teeth. im laughing just typing this up. what the fuck

Light CORRUPTION ARC and we return to a more typical Magical Girl plot by having L save him from the corruption of the Evil Black Magic and stuff.

also I think Light's Magical Girl costume should become increasingly black during this arc and when L asks why he's like. "I spilled a pen on it."

it's important to note that in Show Form we see Light's POV as this happens but if I were to write a fic (which. so sad! I don't think I'll be able to) it would only follow L's POV -- one would only have hints of what was going on with Light up until the Big Reveal

maybe a flashback then? I like a big villain monologue though while L sits there thinking "damn! my one friend!"

but yeah speaking of turning this to prose... still working on my last big fic project, so not gonna happen on my own. It'd be cool to work together with someone on it but if you want to do something with this idea just make sure to send it to/tag me! Fallout Bebop

Alright before I get started, I'm not trying to ruin anything or retcon Fallout or Cowboy Bebop for that matter, this is just something that I want to write about off an on as long as I am still committed to my playthrough of Fallout 4. (New Vegas requires a ton of space on my PC which I don't have right now sadly) It's not the greatest of writing but I'm not hear to write a masterpiece, just whatever comes to my mind. I will get the next chapter out by tomorrow maybe. I'm still trying to continue with where I left off on Saturday when I completed chapter. Anyway without further ado, let's get started. Btw the "tall skinny individual in the intro is not Spike lol, it's supposed to be me but as the main character in any Fallout game so it can be whoever. I don't spend much time making my character, I just play around with their appearance a bit and just give them a normal look to them. Anyway let's start.

War. War never changes. Nearly 200 years ago after decades of conflict over Earth's last resources, the world was plunged into nuclear fire. The atomic conflagration between the world's nuclear powers ended in a span of only two hours but in those short few hours, the world was reduced to ruin and billions of lives snuffed out by atomic fire and by the aftermath of this nuclear holocaust. Though civilization as humanity knew it ceased to exist on Earth, the tale of humanity still preserved despite many challenges and trials ahead. Thanks to years of false alarms and the cry wolf effect, very few took the warnings seriously and those who were fortunate enough to make it to the safety to the underground Vaults, their fate was in the hands of the overseers who either delivered the survivors a new life from war and death or a life of hell at the hands of their new mad scientists. In the many decades since the Great War in 2077, societies that some how managed to escape the ravages of nuclear war and the societal collapse, have colonized much of the solar system thanks to the help of the Intersolar Brotherhood of Steel who have dedicated their lives and their mission to colonize other planets. Thanks to the technological advancements made by the IBOS, the very few humans left on Earth have managed to make space their home free from the horrors of the atomic wasteland and the constant struggles that plagued humanity since the bombs fell. Amid rising crime, the Intersolar Brotherhood of Steel have created a legalized contract system similar to prewar bounty hunting who are dedicated to capturing criminals not just on Earth but throughout the solar system. With the help of the Inter Solar System Police, the official police force of the Intersolar Brotherhood of Steel, bounty hunting has expanded beyond the atomic wasteland on Earth and into the stars above.

*Atomic Wasteland, unknown location in the former United States of America*

A taller somewhat skinny looking individual equipped with combat armor and old military fatigues and a trusty Pip-Boy 3000 courtesy of Robco Industries, was prepping for a long haul to a great unknown. Next to him was a skinny and lanky looking androgynous teenage girl with fiery red hair and a goofy looking grin that seemed constantly in one mode and that was happy, giggly and bubbly all the time. The strange man didn't mind and often was happy to see her with nothing but endless content regardless of the world that he and she are forced to grow up in. He met this strange child a few months ago after he found her wandering endlessly in nothing but open wilderness and the harsh atomic wasteland. One would have to wonder if this child was part ghoul or was naturally immune to radiation as no child would be sane enough to go out in the wasteland without proper protection.

"Rad X?

"Radaway?"

"Purified water, bandages, and extra food?"

"I'm afraid not kiddo and besides that stuff is bad for you, I don't know how prewar society could handle such a sugary concoction."

The young girl proudly beamed proud of her statement of fact. The strange man smirked at her before continuing with the checklist.

He made sure that he was armed enough to go out in the wasteland. He was tasked on a secret mission by the Detachment, a paramilitary organization that provides extra security for anyone that has the caps for it. Truth be told, it was a pretty insignificant faction that had little to no name recognition other than the fact that they were well armed, and they provided security for any organization out there that wasn't just comprised of degenerate raiders. Originally the strange man was going to drop off Edward at the nearest settlement and not have to deal with her but overtime he grew protective of her and considered dumping her at the nearest settlement one of the last things he wished to do given the dangers of the wasteland. But he also argued that this child was capable of taking care of herself without adults but child or not, raiders would not care.

"Alright I got my gear ready, take the chem but only once we don't want any side affects causing problems for you. You're how old again Ed?"

"13, 13, 13!"

"Let's try one dose for now. It says on the bottle that it won't cause any addiction but I don't want to risk it."

"Hehe, you worry too much."

"I just...I just don't want you to get hurt".

"I'll be fine!"

She giggled as he gave her the one chem of Rad-X, sure enough after she took the dose, nothing happened. The man took his dose of Rad-X and off they were to the great unknown ready for anything. He debated whether or not he wanted to stay with the Detachment or if he wanted to just keep going his own way with this child. He had plenty of caps and was perfectly capable of plowing through the wastes though having a NBC suit on would be more ideal, he thought.

"Alright let's go kiddo."

"Right!"

St5 byler speculation

This is some st5 speculation based off of will and mike’s last heart to heart in st4.

This is the scene I’m referring to btw:

First things first I just have to say that the Duffer brothers have said (don’t know if they were lying or not) that we would be able to figure what happens in season 5 from what’s given to us in 4. Ok now for the actual theorizing:

The first thing that happens is Mike tells Will him and El aren’t speaking and haven’t really spoken much since the love confession. Obviously this means El and Mike are still going to have relationship problems in season 5, but more importantly this means that El is definitely done with Mike’s bullshit. I’m assuming them not talking, even after Mike said ily in that horrendous monologue, that El is going to break up with him. Maybe she’s not breaking up with him because of his inability to say I Love You. Cause I mean literally this whole season was about that and we do get mike saying ily in the love confession. maybe its because her new sense of independence let’s her know she doesn’t need Mike’s (or anybody’s) opinion of her to make her feel good ab herself. And also she probably feels like she needs to focus on Max and Vecna but that’s for a whole other day lol.

Second thing that happens is Mike and will sitting down on the couch; this is where the rest of their convo happens. Now a lot of people have pointed out that the couch is upside and this could mean that Mike and Will will be in the upside for the next season. However, I would like to add this: Mike is the first one to sit on the couch…Mike is the first one to end up in the upside down. Will follows him onto the couch, and has to put the cushion down to sit…Will chooses to go into the upside down to save Mike. I think if Mike is the first to end up in the UD, then he is getting Vecna’d. That’s really the only plausible reason why he would be in there since there are no more gates. The Duffer brothers have said that st5 is going to circle back to st1 and it’s going to have a lot of the same character pairings. Wouldn’t it be crazy if instead of Will being lost in the upside down, it was Mike, and instead of Mike looking for Will, ITS WILL LOOKING FOR MIKE. i wouldn’t think, if this is true and Mike does get stuck in the ud, that they’d have him in there for a week considering most seasons have been set within a weeks time span. But the idea of them flipping they’re dynamic from season one is chef’s kiss.

Moving on to the third thing: lighting. Will is bathed in sunlight and Mike is pretty much in the shadows—except when he grabs to will. There’s dozens of analyses on the lighting in this shot, and I don’t really want to resay what’s already been so heavily spoken on. But I will say this as my own little spin on the lighting’s meaning: what if the light being almost like a spotlight on Will means that he is going to be the one to save the day? I mean think about it like this. In media and literature, there’s always a parallel between good and bad and light and dark. If Will does chase mike into the ud, or is trying to save him, Will would be mike’s light in the darkness. Mike is shown all the way out of the light, it actually kinda looks like Finn was told to position himself out of it. This could mean that Mike is stuck in that negative ass headspace while in the ud, he’s going to struggle with not letting Vecna get him. But Will is his light, and just like in this scene, mike will reach out for that light. For the goodness that will save him from being vecna’s next victim. You can also note how Mike’s grip on this scene is extremely tight (ik Noah’s shoulder must’ve hurt after that lol) and a lot of bylers have used that as byler evidence, but I’m going to use the death grip he gives as symbolism for him reaching out to Will for safety for dear life.

Fourth thing: Will talking ab his connection to Vecna. He hasn’t been in Hawkins for even a day and it has all flooded back to him. The being able to see through Vecna’s eyes, hear his thoughts, feel his presence. The connection is just as strong (if not stronger) than before he left. If Will ends up in the ud looking for Mike, this will obviously play a disgustingly huge role. I mean I can see us getting scenes where Will is talking to Vecna through his mind, getting a zoom in on the back of Will’s neck and then HEARING VECNA TALK TO WILL, and just so much more. Like can we pleaseeeee get Will doing a full on Harry Potter v. Voldemort battle?? This isn’t even me speculating that this is me wishing. Oh and I am going to make a post regarding the parallels between Will and Harry because everyone loves doing it with El but I feel there’s so many more with Will it’s insane. I have completely gotten off track let’s move on.

Idk what number we’re on now, but I was rewatching the clip and forgot to discuss them talking ab el. Now there are a lot of things through out the season that point to el not defeating vecna, and it being someone else (I will also be doing a post ab the d&d game because HOLY SHIT does it have some juice to it) but when talking about specifically this scene, mike says that she’s never lost like this before. Ok actually I’m going to have to rope in the d&d game a lil bit for this to make sense. So in the d&d game Eddie explains how vecna has returned from the dead even tho it was believed he was killed. We end st4 with everyone thinking Vecna is dead (dare I add how both in the d&d game he is missing a left arm and in the fight between him and the three older kids Nancy and robin both aim for his left arm). But in the game we watch a bunch of players die (to reassure those who think I would say st5 everyone is going to die but two people, no. That is absurd) and they’re left with only two chances to kill vecna. it’s not the 11 that kills him it’s a 20. Going back to this scene with mike and will (I am sorry for how messy this paragraph is it’s 1am and I’m just waiting for my goddamn script) Mike says El’s never lost like this. We can parallel El to the person that had supposedly tried to kill vecna but didn’t. Then Will goes on to say “she’ll have another chance” mike says “let’s hope not”. Now, this is kind of reaching but I think this scene with mike and will in regards to el is solidifying the idea of El not saving Hawkins. If the d&d game is true, and it’s not 11 but 20 (I have searched throughout this entire fucking season for even an inkling of a 20 being even AROUND a character but no hope so far) then mike saying, after Will says she has another chance, “let’s hope not” could be the writers telling us “El isn’t going to be the hero”. Also love that Will goes into brother mode when Mike talks ab her doubts, he is such a lovely brother.

Final thing I noticed: mike repeating “we will. we will”. I don’t care if I’m wrong ab what those words mean, but I don’t think I KNOW these words hold weight and tell us something ab st5. Think about it, Mike only ever repeats something if he is really trying to put emphasis on it. He did that with “we’re just friends”. The writers are telling us to pay attention to these words. And I think that it’s just such an odd sentence to begin with. It’s one of those sentences that only the writers would write with the intentions of it alluding to what’s to come. (Edit: I’m sorry to add it here but I reread this and I need to say that OBVIOUSLY THE WE WILL MEANS THEYRE GOING TO WIN. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to figure out that at the end of the show the bad guy loses. I’m talking ab more so “who” is doing the “will” so to speak… who will kill vecna 😐). I’m just going to throw out the idea of this alluding to will and mike fighting vecna, but it’s Will that ultimately kills him. Because if you break it down (analyzing a two word sentence is so fun! *said sarcastically*) the “we” mike is referring to could really only be two possibilities: it’s either him talking about mike + Will, or him talking ab the entire group. It’s not just a singular person that’s killing vecna. So to make that statement work with my “Will is killing vecna” theory. In the ud, mike and will hatch up a plan that involves both of them killing vecna. However, when it all comes down to it, it’s going to be Will that kills vecna. Even this little theory I just cooked up in three seconds works with the sentence. “We (mike and will as a team destroy vecna) will ( will kills vecna by himself)”.

So hears my little st5 theory based off of that scene (and this is really only in regards to Will + Mike obviously): Mike gets vecna’d, but instead of dying he, he like max, gets trapped in the upside down. I’m going to throw this in here for fun and because I really want it to happen, but Vecna first gets mike by making an illusion of him at the quarry and vecna is basically harassing Mike for jumping off. Anyways, Will finds out (maybe he’s with mike? Idk it’s 2am leave me alone) that Mike is stuck in the upside down and goes after him. Will is in contact with vecna and scared of it but he knows that with this connection they can find him easier and can learn his weaknesses. Will does find Mike and their reunion would probably make byler shippers have a full on exorcism (I’m thinking the reunion scene would probably be a parallel of their reunion at the airport, but instead of the awkward side hug, they’re like crying and holding each other for dear life). Mike and Will will create a plan to kill good ole vecky. While on that journey they most definitely would have a heart to heart and I think this convo would make byler cannon. Also while on the journey Will would probably be seeing some crazy shit from Vecna and the closer and closer they get to him the worse it’s going to get. Once they actually do meet vecna mike and will begin their plan. Idk what the details of the plan would be or how it would lead to this, but it would lead to Will being the one to end vecna’s life. With or without mikes help, Will is killing him. I think while all this is going down throughout the season (can you imagine if all I just said only happens in like one episode Jesus Christ that’d be crazy) El is trying to figure out a way to gain back her confidence in her abilities, El and mike definitely break up before he gets vecna’d, and (PLEASE DONT MURDER ME THIS IS JUST A THEORY) in el and vecna’s final batte El loses….and dies. IK NO ONE WANTS HER DEAD I DONT EITHER I LOVE HER CHARACTER. But there’s just so much that shows her death and like not to mention story telling wise, going with the story of the whole show not just the final season, it makes sense. And like if they’re alluding to her not winning the final battle, how tf do y’all think that’s gonna play out? What she’s just magically gonna live because she said pretty please at the hands of vecna’s mercy? I don’t think so. Anyways this concludes this EXTREMELY long analysis. I’m going to check if I got the papa script now lol.

what exactly happens when the sibling dies btw? i needa envision this correctly - 👹

Okok so in my head it’s during an assassination attempt (I have no idea about like. The assassin’s aims, who hired them etc yet. Maybe they’re the same people who got Hollow kidnapped and led them to meeting moth bf??? Idk yet)

SO it’s an ambush, probably happens outside of the palace, maybe during the trip to PK’s tomb??? Like on the way home??

The carriage they’re in (gijinka equivalent to stags ig??) gets knocked over and they tumble down a hill, Hollow grabs their kids and shields them as much as they can and ends up being the only one injured (save for some scrapes and bruises on the kids) and they’re super disoriented from the fall

While they’re righting themselves, the attackers start to close in on them and eldest kiddo, seeing his mum isn’t about to get up any time soon, grabs his nail (it’s his first real nail he got for his most recent birthday) stands in front of his mum and sibs and tries to defend them

He manages to slash across the leader’s chest, which gets a “you liTTLE SHIT!!” And a kick in the gut that knocks the wind outta him. I don’t wanna make his death TOO violent so from there the leader grabs the kiddo’s nail (which may as well be a dagger in his giant fkin hands) and stabs him with it

At this point, Hollow has managed to shake the stars outta their eyes and got the ringing in their ears to stop enough for them to turn around and check over their kids, when they hear the “YOU LITTLE SHIT,” and turn their head just in time to see their kid being stabbed with their own blade

U know the drill with angry feral Hollow, except now this isn’t their ancient, powerful father being injured. No, this is a child, their child.

So u can only imagine just HOW violent the next 5 minutes is.

The leader looks up, starts monologuing, and his speech is cut off a few words in as the area around them goes deathly silent.

Hollow tells their kids to cover their eyes, and reassures their eldest that he’s going to be okay via voidspeak (they’re part void so they can hear and speak it)

And then just fkin massacres them ALL, making sure to leave the leader till last.

During his monologue, the leader mentioned something about an “employer,” so they pin him to the ground by introducing his hands and legs to some soul daggers, then slices their own hand and pours void straight into the wound on the fucker’s chest so they can demand who exactly this employer is thru the void (something something if u get stained/poisoned enough by void u can hear voidspeak) but all he manages to do is beg for his life before succumbing to the blood loss.

They rush over to the oldest kiddo and say something like “it’s okay baby, it’s over, you can open your eyes now,” but it’s too late

Cue guttural scream and that entire area of the queen’s gardens is covered in a layer of frost, and will be for years to come. It’s like. A physical manifestation of the king’s grief (magic god made frost doesn’t melt easily lol)

They stay there cradling their child until one of the other kiddos manages to work up enough courage to step up behind Hollow and hug them from behind, which kinda snaps them out of their grief and puts them in mum mode™️ and they put that shit aside until they can make their way back to the palace. They wrap the kid in their cloak and try to explain to the other two that he's just super tired right now, so mum has to carry him home, and he has to be wrapped up like this so he won't get cold.

The other two are twins and are like 5ish (subject to change, I've literally just this second decided that lmao)

My response: I mean they're kinda right? Mike had to be pushed and encouraged by Will to say those things in first place. He couldn't say it when El was literally being choked to death he had to be reminded of the painting that he thinks El commissioned. (she didn't) "You're the heart mike"

Person One (Talking to me) : If Mike didn’t love El, how would the idea that she thought he was the heart change that? The reason Mike needed help to say it was because of his own insecurities, not because he didn’t mean it. No matter what pushed Mike to say it, the fact of the matter is that the contents of the monologue are all about El, to El. A huge monologue. Mike doesn’t tell her because he thinks El helped with the drawing, he told her because Will made him see that his love is valuable

My response: Not what I meant lol. My theory is that he didn’t love her as much or in the way el wanted him to or maybe that he was falling out of love, and the way that Will described it to him resonated with him and helped him gain confidence to say I love you, whether he meant it or not. Imo, I think that Mike doesn’t love el the way he’s supposed to and he’s recognizing it and maybe feels guilty about it so saying “I love you” is like lying to her face. Plus I doubt it’s bc he’s insecure El has told him time and time again that she loves him. She’s told him in letter after letter after letter. Told him in S3 and kissed him while he just stood there with his eyes open not touching her, just being completely still. Which is..weird, considering he was making out with her at the beginning of the season. If he was really insecure and his whole thing about saying it and admitting his feelings would make the day that El realizes she doesn’t need him anymore hurt more is strange bc that just exposes him for thinking he’s nobody while El’s a “Superhero” El herself didn’t want to be called a superhero she wanted to be recognized as her own person, a normal person, like Mike. And those insecurities of hers are shown when she says she’s different, and she doesn’t want to feel like that. And yet mike keeps saying it?? In short he’s basically saying, “I’m insecure because I think I’m dating literal superman and I’m a nobody who just happened to find her in the woods that day.” That makes El feel like her and Mike are too different and just “a superhero” and nothing else, and mike can’t see that.

Person Two (Talking abt my first response) : In that moment it didn’t occur to him because his main priority was making sure she could breathe. Plus don’t forget the fact that Mike was about to tell her he loves her right before Argyle interrupted. He had already attempted to twice before but was always interrupted. + It does feel a little cheap though that Will had to prompt it. Idk I feel like that wasn’t the best writing. Mike should of said it on his own since he’s always felt it.

My Response: They could have easily made them cool and a power couple at the end, and set up for S5, make Mike have an actual good monologue, and a kiss at the end.. but they didn’t and it’s either they have no Idea what to do with them or they’re trying to set something up.

-not to mention the time skip, it happens right as the climax is finishing but we don’t get to see it? Why?

Person two: Imo the Duffers just aren’t that good at writing romance tbh. They thought him saying it while El was in danger it would be more impactful. Which in a way it was but Will shouldn’t have had to prompt it. Unpopular but all the couples besides Lumax aren’t written well this season. Even Lumax at points as well. I love them but most of time they are broken up and they just feel like friends. I know lovely dovey isn’t them but I honestly can’t tell if they were officially still together or not last season besides like the first episode.

My Response: They have so many relationships to fix up that I have no idea how they’re going to fix it all in 12 hours or less? If just a dumb decision on their part. Especially with Mileven, they could have fixed that relationship if they chose to keep Argyle out, but. They. Didn’t.

Person Two: I heard season 5 might be shorter maybe like 9 or 10 hours. Idk why they like to push everything to the last minute. That’s why everything feels so rushed. Jopper is definitely the most solid couple atm.

My Response: Exactly, and they have so much to repair with Mileven so I question their decisions and their writing skills atp.

Person 3’s response to a Byler: one thing bylers are going to do is somehow make mikes monologue about will.

My Response: Lol Mike probably wouldn’t have said those things without Wills encouragement just saying.

Person 4’s Response to me: He was about to tell her i love you in season 3 before he was interrupted and when they were eating pizza before he was interrupted.

My Response: You realize that the van scene was before that right? Also we don’t rlly know that I’m sure he was going to but the duffers didn’t do that. It doesn’t make sense to me, it would have felt more meaningful if he said it on his own, without being encouraged in that moment. Which is just confusing? Why save Mileven for later? They could have easily had that convo, have El know that he already loves her and have her fight on her own. They could have ended it like they usually do and have then say I love you and kiss.. But they didn’t? Imo, If they rlly wanted Mileven to be as good as ships like Jopper and Lumax then why? It just doesn’t make sense and neither does mikes monologue. They ended it off with, “???” With Mileven. They could have easily had a set up where Mileven was a cute power couple by S5. 🤷‍♀️

Person 4’s response: He opened up and that takes time? He’s struggled with his experiencing for opening up. If you haven’t experienced struggling with your emotions in a relationship, don’t speak on it. He took his time and that’s okay.

My Response: Lol I do, I hate talking abt my feelings personally. Which is why I kinda relate to Mike. But if I knew someone loved me that much, when they show it and tell me, then I would say it. And if my insecurities were causing the other pain then maybe we need time away. In a realistic stand point that isn’t healthy. You shouldn’t be in a relationship with someone who makes you feel insecure, especially if it isn’t their fault. That’s problems that you have to figure out yourself. And mike always wanting to be with El and being over bearing Like that is not healthy at all. I used to ship Mileven but the way they started to portray it in S3 & S4 is not it. If they want them together they shouldn’t have written it like that and waited all season to repair their relationship in the last season in which they plan to be Shorter makes no sense at all. If anything with the amount of ships they left in the dark ST5 might just turn into a drama romance scifi if they aren’t careful. Imo, Mileven is beyond repair, and if they do it’ll probably be poor writing, and undermines their characters like hell.

My Response: Lmao well that’s rlly bullshit and rlly questionable on their part. In S1 E2 they discuss abt what to do with el bc if you found some lil kid in the woods wouldn’t you take them in? Mike had a whole ass plan of what to do with her and to “Send her back to wherever she came from” And then “we’ll too totally be in the clear and tomorrow night we’ll go out and this time we’ll find will.” His main priority was finding Will and he was just being nice. The only reason why she was kept there was bc the “bad men” were after her. If he rlly loved her then he would have kept her in his house just bc he loved her. Not to mention the ST writers don’t believe in love at first sight and kinda clowned on it with Argyle and Eden in that one scene. So It makes u question if they’re bad writers, Or if Mike monologue’s was lies. Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s both lol.

My Response: Yeah but It would have been better if he confessed without being interrupted and El could have gone into the fight knowing that mike loves her Just like Max knew her friends did.. But they didn’t. In which completely threw away her independence arc. She needed her bf to save her when they could have set it up differently, but they didn’t? Which is why I think if they don’t make Mileven break up or at least work thru their problems then that’s just horrible writing. They sacrificed her whole character dev for a cute scene.

Person 6’s response: I think mikes hug with hopper was pretty meaningful towards future mileven. they came full circle with that duo bc there won’t be young love dramatics next season. The resolved the dumb tropes from s3/4 (hopper not liking mike/Mike’s ILY) and set them up fairly well for s5 Aside from El’s likely internal self hatred after the max/ vecna fail. I’m sure after what he told her, El will consider herself the monster again or at least the one to blame for opening the gate in ‘83. That’s probably the only source of tension mileven will have going into s5

My Response: Yeah that may happen too, there are too many things going on in their relationship and too many conflicts to workout, considering that they left all of the other ships in the dark, Ie, Mileven, Byler, Lumax, Jancy, Stancy, etc. Also a lot of unanswered questions. Also considering that they’re aiming for only 12 hours or less, and the fact that they have to fit in the sci-fi / thriller concept is a lot to grasp. And they also broke from the pattern where one of them says I love you or kiss and the end.. That didn’t happen? To me if they wanted Mileven to be canon they should have stuck to the pattern that they had usually had instead of saving it with the next season when they have a lot of things to wrap up. Which honestly tells me they’re mainly going to be focusing on will and the ships in ST5. If they want to start another conflict in a season where all of the other ships are in a conflict as well is confusing and it makes me feel like it will be rushed and poorly written. I hope that they were planning this and can turn it around, but I don’t have much faith.

okay some thoughts about henry creel in st4 volume 2 that i want to talk about

ok so first of all i’m so glad vecna isn’t dead bc well obviously the henry stan in me wants more of him but also the thought of el defeating him all by herself with just telekinesis alone is kinda lame tbh. basically we’re not resting until we get our Will Has Powers plotline

anyways onto the deeper stuff bc there’s a lot of little things i noticed that i thought could be used in defeating him. this is going to be super jumbled and all over the place so just try and stay with me okay 😅

both in his 4x07 monologue and in 4x09 when el tries to stop vecna by kind of sympathizing with him, henry refuses to admit to himself that brenner has had an effect on him. he claims that he’s always had the mindset he does, that brenner didn’t turn him into a monster at all (though i gotta hand it to him, him calling brenner mediocre was funny as hell 💀). and yet this is the exact opposite of what jamie bower insists about his character; he’s said in multiple interviews that the main reason henry is so fucked up is because of brenner. and honestly? that’s believable, bc that man was an abusive monster and henry, despite the horrible things he did as a child, was just that—a child when he was taken in by brenner. to say that being raised/abused by that man had no effect on him whatsoever is just not realistic by any means

but perhaps this is a weakness of his; he hates to admit to what happened to him. he hates dr. brenner, hates the shit he put him through, but admitting to being a victim is something he struggles tremendously with doing. he wants to be powerful, he wants to be in control. and having been a victim implies that there was a time when he had neither of those things, and he doesn’t want to admit to that, so he rejects the idea at every chance he gets

speaking of brenner, can we talk about the line el said to him about him using her to search for henry all those years after the massecre (side note i kind of predicted that in my head and i was so excited when i ended up being right lol). she said to him something along the lines of “you could not stop; you couldn’t let him go.” we see how brenner fought until his death to keep el with him; he wanted her in his possession, and he couldn’t give her up even when it put his life at risk. i think it was the same for henry. he felt he was still out there, and he wanted him all for himself. think about lt. sullivan’s line about everything that’s happened in hawkins “can be traced back to brenner’s little pet.” we know he was taking about el, but from a narrative perspective it serves a double meaning, because henry, brenner’s first test subject (of the number kids series, not mk-ultra obviously) was the cause of everything. i think he wanted el to find henry not to stop him (because prior to her opening the main gate, he wasn’t posing any actual threat to their dimension) but because he wanted to take him back and use him as a weapon. he viewed henry as his property, and he couldn’t stand the thought of letting this person that he’d objectified so intensely go. it’s why he kept him at the lab, as el says, despite the threat he posed to the other children. brenner saw him as his, and he refused to give him up, even when he’d been banished to another dimension for fucks sake

also i noticed that el referee to henry as “one” or “vecna” when she was talking to her friends, but always called him “henry” to brenner. idk if that was on purpose but it felt meaningful, like she was refusing to give him the comfort of viewing this human being as a weapon or an object, forcing him to call him by a human name. though of course brenner viewed henry as a weapon regardless of what he called him, as one was mostly just the name used to refer to him in past tense once the other kids were brought in. but still i thought it was a nice touch

and despite how el didn’t talk like she sympathized with henry in her argument with brenner (which is valid btw), she still thought back on him being electrocuted when she thought about brenner being a monster. bc regardless of the things he’s done to her and her siblings, brenner was still using inhumane torture methods on him and she still saw that as wrong. she also quoted him, “papa doesn’t always tell the truth,” bc him manipulating her doesn’t make the statement any less true. idk i just thought that was interesting and showed el’s empathetic nature

ok so back to Shit That Could Be Used Against One… did anyone else notice when max first got vecna’d in 4x09 when lucas started talking how he said to her “normal people don’t fantasize about killing people”? max never claimed she wanted to kill billy herself, and of course he was preying on her guilt by exaggerating things, but it made me think about henry because not being “normal”? fantasizing about killing people? that perfect describes him. and to me it sounds like he’s projecting that onto max.

we know vecna uses people’s guilts against them; projecting insecurities onto others implies that those insecurities still exist. it’s a long shot, yeah, but i think it could be worth a try to attempt to use vecna’s own techniques against him. we already saw el using the same telekinetic moves against vecna that he used against her the day of the massacre. maybe now it’s time to go further, to use his psychological moves against him too. (this ties in perfectly with kali making a comeback bc hello? illusions??? no one can fight back against vecna’s illusion powers but her and that would give them a HUGE one up)

ok some less major stuff now… the whole thing with henry creating the mind flayer based on his childhood drawing was such an amazing will parallel i was SO hype when i saw that. also dude is literally trying to take over the world but is using his childhood fantasy creatures to do it. vecna what are you going to do if i call you a little baby? what are you going to do then bitch

finally one complaint i had was the fact that they just made el recognize vecna immediately? like i get she probably just put two and two together but i wish it was a bigger deal, like her seeing his tattoo or something. bc she’d never actually seen him as vecna before so i wish they’d kind of acknowledged that better. still though that first encounter with her lifting him in the air like he had with her and just going “hi” before throwing him into the bleachers was amazing though lol

My Eddie Munson analysis, with points that have already been made, but that I’ll say again:

He was probably not intended to be as popular as he became, hence his death. The Duffers and co obviously regret their decision; cue the kajillion posts, teases, and merch pieces coming out about him. They fucked up by killing him, and they know it. Will he come back? I have no idea.

Joseph was the one who made Eddie as great as he is. He helped shape the character and he gave him the depth and personality (mannerisms, rings, eye fucking Steve in all scenes, other choices, ad libs, etc) that we love him for.

To me, Eddie as a character IS a plot device. He was written to mature the party boys, specifically Dustin. He was written to die, so that Steve could live. He was written to subvert expectations, like with Chrissy, which makes you care about him.

He was also written to confirm the re-significance of Stancy, with his explicit “get her back” comments in the UD. This fascinates me because he barely knows these people, let alone what’s going on in their relationship. Why would he feel compelled to say what he said, unless he’s being used as a narrative tool to push Stancy to the forefront? I am into Stancy too personally but like, lol, who told him about what was going on? Did Robin take 5 minutes to be like “hey Eddie btw if Steve and Nancy seem awkward around each other, it’s because they used to date but she broke up with him and he never really got over her and her long distance bf has been incommunicado so I feel like there might be a chance they rekindle their love” like I guess it happened off screen! Did Dustin tell him? And while I wish we’d seen a conversation so it would make more sense why he’s saying that, we didn’t need it, because HE doesn’t exist that deeply on the page. His comment was to further someone else’s plot, not his own. (I personally also love the headcanon that he said all of that to Steve because he was crushing on Steve and was deflecting).

I have no idea what the costume and hair and makeup departments were doing when they developed his final looks, but that boy is queer. The bandana alone, I immediately thought he was going to be the first gay character in the show in s4e1. In his introductory monologue he mentions sodomy, I mean….

Lastly, everyone has already said this, but his death. Are you kidding me? It’s not just that he was another one season semi filler character that’s introduced, who you fall in love with, who dies. It’s the fact that he died so savagely, in what felt like a nonsensical way. It felt almost taunting, like here’s this symbol of what it means to be different and let’s kill him! Get it, he didn’t run away this time! Booooo 🍅🍅 that’s bad writing. He didn’t zip up his jacket! Why? He was written to make all the wrong decisions, because they so thoroughly wanted him to die, almost like his death is an important part of his character.

Whether or not he’s Kas, just haunts Dustin the way Billy haunted Max, or something in between, if he isn’t shown at all in season 5, after all the hubbub about him, I will riot.

I noticed a fellow anon's post here talking about that Smartpass regarding Levi's dream. I too relate with that anon about the fact some ppl really misunderstand his character after reading that short story. For example, Levi tells himself "I just need to protect them. They were prepared to take this step forward and I should at least defend that." , right? I've read manu fans' analysis posts regarding this specific line where they'd be like "Notice how Levi uses 'I should at least defend that?' it looks as if it isn't his dream to free humanity at this point and he done this only for the sake of his friends' sacrifices+Erwin's, Hanji's, etc orders. As if he's excluding himself from having the same wish" I personally find this interpretation very faulty. First of all, it's always been Levi dream to rid the world of titans both for the sake of the rest of humanity. We can see that clearly in the final battle where he fights tooth and nail to defeat Eren. On the other hand, Levi said it himself back in the uprising arc that he's ready do anything to wipe the titans and bring peace because the air outside the walls always felt different than that of which inside them. Lastly, we have Levi's monologue, where again he says The ideal world WE dreamed of didn't include trampling the lives and hearts of others (once again proving Levi compassionate side btw). So yeah, I don't get why this part of the smartpass brought certain arguments in the fandom. I would like to read your thoughts about those fans claims. Well, I feel like I've pretty much already covered this to exhaustion, lol. Of course Levi wishes to free humanity. That shouldn't even be up for debate, and why it continues to be boggles my mind. I've spoken about how I think, because of the harshness of Levi's life growing up, because of the blunt and bleak reality he was faced with from a young age, idealism, and belief in idyllic dreams isn't something that comes easily to him. I think Levi knows, better than anyone, that what they (he and the SC) are fighting for is, in all reality, unlikely to ever be truly achieved. A peaceful world where no one has to die a meaningless death isn't, realistically, an attainable goal. And because of the brutal experiences of his life, I think Levi knows and accepts that, and always has, from the very beginning. What makes Levi so heroic, though, is the fact that he knows these things, he knows how cruel and ugly and violent the world really is, he knows what they're fighting for is an ideal dream which has little chance of truly being realized, and yet he still fights for it anyway. More than ridding the world of titans specifically, Levi wishes for a world in which people are able to live for themselves and decide for themselves. He tells his squad during the Uprising arc that even if people end up killing each other, that's better than them being eaten by titans, because at least then it's their own choice, their own chosen path.

Levi has no delusions about the nature of humanity, he has no fanciful notions about peace. He knows what people are. You can compare him to Jean and Connie and the rest of his squad before and after the fight with Kenny's crew. We see all of them devastated because they've suddenly been exposed to this ugly, horrific reality of having to kill other people. Up until now, despite the combat they’ve seen, they’ve actually lived very isolated, sheltered lives, away from that harsh reality of the world.  And now they're suddenly faced with having to question their own heroism, to question what it is they're fighting for, whether they're in the moral right or wrong. It was simple for them before. They saw themselves as heroes, and Jean specifically made the bold claim that he would never kill another person, no matter what, and condemned and criticized Levi for doing so. But then he was forced to see that the issue isn't anywhere close to the black and white morality he was peddling, and that Levi's actions weren't so easily dismissed as "wrong". Levi by contrast is calm and compassionate as he explains to them the concept of killing. He doesn't try to claim it as right or wrong. He doesn't try to moralize it, or justify it even. He simply states the facts, which is that if Armin hadn't killed that MP, then Jean and all the rest of them would likely be dead now. Levi is intimately familiar with the complex reality of the world, of human nature and violence. He's deeply aware of how moral questions of right and wrong rarely apply to that complex reality, because he grew up exposed to the ugliest that people have to offer.

Essentially, Levi is a realist fighting for an idealistic dream. It isn’t that he doesn’t care about freeing humanity.  OF COURSE he wants to free humanity.  It’s that he isn’t certain of its realistic chances of happening.  He's surrounded by comrades who believe in that dreams possibility 100%, and seeing that idealism, seeing that belief, Levi feels it's his duty to fight for them and that dream too. He wants to use his strength to help them achieve that dream, even as he himself has trouble believing in its attainability. He wants peace and freedom for humanity, and gives himself to that cause completely. Again, what makes Levi so heroic is that he does this even while struggling with the question of whether that dream is truly within reach. The freedom to live their lives as they choose is what Levi wants for humanity, and he deems it worth fighting for, even if it's an impossibility.

Branching Timeline 2

I am once again experiencing brainrot, also before I say anything else, I should mention the quality goes down a bit as the pages go on, that’s because I occasionally have issues with my wrist and it started to flare up near the end so the art quality said good bye and left with the kids.

There are spoilers for skyward sword here, also a little warning there is a major (technically minor cuz I don’t put much detail into it) injury in this.

To help avoid spoilers and stuff Im gonna keep hiding the images under the read more, also this part does include some of my terrible writing, as like I said before my wrist failed and I had 4 more panels planned that I couldn’t do, so supplemented with writing and got a bit more in than what would’ve been in the panels.

Impa: Your Grace

Zelda: Please, Don’t call me that. How is he?

Impa: Ah- The Old woman did what she could but his injury is deeper than we first thought... Whatever Ghirahim did is preventing it from healing properly. The waters from the skyview temple spring could help, but he’s in no condition to make the trip. I can’t leave him unguarded either...

Now for my terrible writing lol:

“This shaking… I fear the seal has been broken,” The Ancient One spoke as soon as Zelda reappeared into the main room, “I suspected it may react to your lingering presence Your Grace, but I never imagined the seal would break so quickly,” Zelda had to stop herself from grimacing, that title has brought nothing but misfortune. “Zelda, there will be time to explain later. Right now, you must hurry to the bottom of the pit outside.” Zelda gave a quick nod in response, shuffling down the set of stairs planning to break into a sprint out the doors when she was stopped by Groose, who’d gone from the quivering mess he was before to what could only be described as a more composed version of a quivering mess. 

He gripped her arm tighter than she assumed he meant to, she could feel his hand shaking as it clung to her.

“You can’t go out there, the old grannie said it’s after you! It’ll,” Groose thought for a moment, he didn’t really know what was out there, other than it was most likely, definitely terrifying, “Well I don’t know!” He spat, “But whatever it is it can’t be good!” He said pulling her back gently, only for her to violently wrench her arm from his hands.

“Who’s going to do it then?!” She practically screamed, anger bubbling inside her spilling over from the encounter with Ghirahim, from her failure to protect Link. From starting this whole mess in the first place. “The only other person who could is in the other room dying!” She cried, taking the sword from her back and flashing it to the knight in training, he backed away from her, raising his arms a bit as if preparing to defend himself from her wrath. 

“So unless you plan to go out there and stop it I suggest you stand aside and let me take care of it,” She spat, Groose surrendered, there was no way he could win this, she was right. He couldn’t go out there to stop whatever was about to be unleashed, he crumbled the second he set foot on the surface. 

Zelda wasted no time charging out of the Temple and down the pit, using her sail cloth to soften her falls. The second she landed at the center of the pit the seal within it began to glow, shifting with shades of red as a black smoke tore its way from the ground. 

A large dark scaled beast formed from the smoke, it’s scales feathered down its entire body, shining red when struck by the light. It was a lot taller than Zelda expected then again she really didn’t know what to expect, the beast was larger than the temple by a lot she estimated. The beast had no arms, but did have short legs which sported strange jiggly white toes, Zelda would have had the mind to be weirded out by that if the beast hadn’t reared it’s head down to roar in her face, showing off 3 rows of terrifyingly sharp teeth. She was almost certain it was going to devour her when it straightened up, taking a few steps forward.

“I knew it. The seal has given way!” The Ancient one called down, “I’ll explain later, but now is the time for action. We must keep that beast from escaping that pit! It must not reach the temple!”

All Zelda could think about the moment she mentioned the temple was Link, if this thing got up there… She readied herself for battle, only nodding in response to the woman’s words, though it was more for herself as she was sure the woman couldn’t see her.

Even if she could she didn’t care, all she cared about was stopping this thing from getting to the temple, getting to her friends. 

Getting to Link..

She wouldn’t fail him again.

Defeating the beast was easier than she thought it would be, as was sealing it away again, despite all that it was still an overall terrifying experience she knew would haunt her for years to come. Pushing those thoughts aside, however, she took a few deep breaths, readying herself to head straight for the skyview temple when she was met by the Ancient One.

“Though the Imprisoned had only just begun to awaken and break it’s bonds, I’m impressed you were able to restore the seal keeping it captive, of course it was not originally your duty to do so,” The Ancient one tacked the last part on most likely unintentionally, the pit of guilt already settled in Zelda’s stomach grew a bit at the comment, “Unfortunately,” The Ancient One continued, “You have only succeeded in buying us a little more time in which to act, the behemoth you beat back into confinement is a horror of unspeakable power,”

‘Could’ve fooled me,’ Zelda thought to herself, glancing back at the sealing spike behind her, the old woman's voice bringing her attention back to the conversation at hand. 

“Judging by what I saw, I would not be surprised if the seal gave way again soon,” Zelda mentally kicked herself, they didn’t have the time to waste on this thing, especially given the condition of her best friend. She ran a hand across her face turning towards the slope leading back up the temple.

“Then I need to start moving,” She spoke interrupting the Ancient One who herself had begun to speak again, she raised a hand in a motion of apology, “If we’re going to make and enact a new plan we need Link, whatever you need me to do can be done when I return, but for now I need you to seal up the temple, every inch of it, I don’t want anything getting in there until I get back.” Zelda ordered not waiting for a response before rushing off letting the vents take her back up the spiral. She realized her tone and actions were a bit rude, but judging by not only the Ancient One’s words, but the condition Link was currently in, she didn’t have time for social niceties, and she definitely didn’t have time to feel bad for being rude.

She could do that later, once Link was back on his feet..

I STAND BY MY STATEMENT THAT VICTOR AND MC ARE THE BIGGEST DUMMIES EVER

Whether it's S1 or S2 LOL~ ✊🤧

I was planning to drop my amateur translations for S2 Victor x MC encounters. I want to do it cause it'll be easier for me to keep track in this way, and I won't have to look through the piles of scattered infos every time I need something lol and I don't have Victor's patience to wait a year and a half and with the current situation being.... well...you know🥲

In case you are interested, here's a sneak peek of these two being dummies LOL~

Note: The selected parts are all from S2 CH 10, cause I just finished reading this chapter. Bullet points are the summary of the incidents and italics are the monologues. (◍•ᴗ•◍)

✧✧✧ PART 1 ✧✧✧

A bit of back story: MC and Victor gets out of Souvenir after dinner and are in Victor's car. MC is reminiscing aloud on the delicious dinner. But Victor remains silent, his expression growing serious all on a sudden.

MC: !?

Looking around MC suddenly feels that Victor might've stopped time.

MC: Victor? The car...

Victor: You sit tight and don't move.

MC: Has something happened?

Victor doesn't answer, gets off and starts checking the car while MC waits inside. After a while he comes back to open the door for her and her suspicion gets stronger that something happened.

MC: Victor, what on earth is going on?

Victor: Get out of the car. Go back on your own today.

Almost at the same time I open my mouth, he coldly utters this irrefutable sentence.

MC: You first tell me what happened.

Victor: I'll tell you later.

MC: Nope. If you don't tell me, I won't get out of the car.

Victor goes from his earlier full on soft boyfriend mode to stone cold mode, hoping it'd work but MC doesn't back off. *insert MC's shouting CG*

MC: There is something wrong with the car, isn't it? Time can't be stopped for so long.

Victor finally gives in and explains that someone tampered with the car. In the present condition, it's impossible to stop the car normally.

*Basically he is planning to die alone.*

Victor: So, get off now.

Blood freezes in MC's body in an instant but she doesn't retreat *and she's still shouting btw*

MC: ...I'm not getting off the car. Victor, I will never get off the car. What will you do when the time starts again? Have you thought of a solution yet? If you've thought of it, I can help you with it. If you haven't thought of it yet, I can think about it with you. In conclusion, I'm not getting off. I want to be with you.

I look at Victor earnestly, there are lights stirring within the dark pupils of his eyes.

Victor: ...You talk too much.

Victor sighs, gets in the car and fastens his seat belt.

Victor: I should have just thrown you out.

as if that would've worked lol

They're driving through the traffic, MC is helping Victor with the routes. Despite being confident earlier, MC is screaming now and then every time their car is nearly hitting another car and the speed is getting more and more uncontrollable as time passes by. But Victor remains as calm as ever. He tells her to think about something else to ease her tension. (They talk about something plot related which I won't explain now). Then MC decides to banter with him in this life and death moment LOL

MC: Although I don't know the hidden agenda behind the assassination, at this moment, I know another thing.

Victor raises his eyebrows.

MC: You just ran a red light, six points gone. *LOL MC*

Note: MC is referring to the penalty points getting added to the driving license due to violating the rules.

After saying that, I can't help but laugh out loud first. Obviously, even under such circumstances, I'm actually in the mood to banter with him.

It’s probably because, the one next to me is Victor.

Even when nervous and scared, I’m still certain that if the heavens were to fall, Victor will be there holding it up.

Later on, Victor admits that he was trying to get her out of the car to ensure her safety but of course~ if they die, they'll die together :<

✧✧✧PART 2✧✧✧

A bit of back story: Victor does something for greater purpose [I'm not including the details cause it'll require his story in the entire season so far LOL]. MC tries to stop him since it's putting his life directly into enormous danger, and it's not like it wasn't already before. But Victor is steadfast on what he wants to do. In the end, MC gives up on trying to stop him, but also insists on not doing anything alone [Part 1 is a demonstration of how willful she can be and it increases ten-fold with both being equally persistent LOL]. She ends up getting on the boat with him. ...And Goldman is very pissed off by the after-effects, mostly concerned though. During one of her visits at LFG for submitting report, MC receives a very cold treatment from Goldman. Naturally, she is very deeply hurt.

In the office, sitting in upright position, Victor is attending to a pile of documents lowering his head down. Hearing me enter, he raises his eyes and glances in my way.

It's as if all the disturbance of the outside world does not affect this place.

I cannot help but look very carefully at Victor's face, wishing to find a trace of evidence that he is feeling tired, and I am afraid that I might really find such a trace.

Seeing me frozen at the doorway, Victor lets out a slight sigh, and holds out a hand in front of me.

Victor: Is your report written on my face?

Although I don't understand what he is going to do, but I place my hand in his anyway.

*Because them holding hands is a very natural thing. Seriously, I'm not kidding, they hold hands a lot LOL*

Victor: ...Your report.

MC: Oh...

*.....*

[Continuation of part 2] MC tries to put on a front as if she's not at all affected by what's going on as a result of their action and also tries to hide how Goldman's attitude earlier upset her. During presenting her report, she boasts on how Victor is looking at the super-producer of the future.

Victor: The ambition is not small. I haven't seen many super-producers. I also don't know before they became this so called super-producers, if they were all like a certain someone who can't even "force herself to smile" properly. It looks silly.

As it turns out, he has already seen through me a long time ago. I finally take off my disguise and breath out a long sigh.

MC: Victor, you're the dummy.

Victor: Weren't you the one who just got scolded?

*Yes, he's referring to Goldman and you can imagine him pouting LOL*

...And...before MC leaves his office, he does hold her hand (/^-^(^ ^*)/ and...
