Every Race And Tribe

“Get up and go below and accompany them without any doubt [about its legality] or any discrimination or hesitation, for I have sent them.” Acts 10:20AMPC

Initiating going to be with a ‘Gentile,’ (non-Israelite), wasn’t permissible. Isaiah 52:11NIV “Depart, depart, go out from there! Touch no unclean thing! Come out from it and be pure…” Ezekiel 20:41AMP “I will accept you [graciously] as a pleasant and soothing aroma when I bring you out from the peoples…”

From Leviticus 17-26, we find laws about food, uncleanness— aka impurity. Yahweh fostered separation and discrimination for His people, the Israeli (Jews). His people were lustful, longing for all the trinkets, bells, and whistles of the idolatrous nations around them. They just couldn’t keep their love focused on the invisible God Who created all things. With laws in place, they kept a little less company with Gentiles, hence, adultery through Idolatry.

Peter was a ‘kosher’ Israelite, meaning he kept the food laws to the limit. God was telling in Acts 10, now the reverse was important. Rather than separating themselves, they were to ‘go with,’ ‘associate with.’ infect the Gentiles with the salvation message.

Today, when what Martin Luther King fought for has come within closer reach, satan has raised his ugly head with segregation and his critical race theory. I know God hates segregation, it enslaves people. Well, I’m with God on hating all forms of segregation. We’ve got Believers being segregated for believing in Jesus; white being segregated from the black for what reason? Discrimination is wrong. Wrong.

The town I grew up in was a white town. We were taught to look curiously upon all black people. They weren’t supposed to own property in our town, or the man’s family, who donated the land for the courthouse, was to take the land and tear down the building. That’s just so much hog-wash.

My blessing came through my parents having lived in Ypsilanti Michigan in their earlier years of marriage. They lived right on the edge of the black housing area. Dad and Mom made many good friends with their neighbors, with memories and laughter being told to my sister and I.

Plus, my grandmother, with all four of her daughters, made up a quintet which sang on the radio with male quintets from Africa, Ypsilanti and Detroit Michigan. Back in those days, singing Christian music was done live for radio. Living then in Grandma’s house, we had many black people in and out of our house for potlucks, Christian fellowship, and laughter. All this occurred during the time of discrimination and segregation.

Peter was instructed, for all future times, to not allow “discrimination or hesitation” to be a part of his decision making or traveling with the Gentiles. Lou and I took this to heart. We have been blessed to find a small church where color or race are irrelevant, as is our church family in Texas, too. Heaven will be a smorgasbord of every race and tribe of God’s children. What glorious times of sharing His goodness, amazing grace, and testimonies we’ll all have.

Before this segregation garbage completely takes over our nation again, let’s follow Paul’s advice. Get dressed in the full armor of God— Ephesians 6:10-18. Then start dismantling and demolishing this demonic segregation stronghold— 2Corinthians 10:3-5NIV “For though we live in the world, we do not wage war as the world does. The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.”

“No weapon formed against you (us) shall prosper…” Isaiah 54:17NKJV. Will you join me? It’s your choice. You choose.

LET’S PRAY: LORD God this dragon was slain once. Help us to kill it again and dismantle its stronghold, in the name of Jesus Christ I pray.
