I’m not sure what you want to know exactly, but I’ll tell you what I thought of :3

+ It was Jazz who found Jason alive after he died, because she had been at the graveyard and was looking for a specimen. She took care of him for a year, until Talia found him and took him away. Jazz didn’t really mind bc Jason was the one who agreed.

+ The two of them kept in touch until Jason came back to Gotham and then he was too busy to message her back. After awhile, she went to find him and then they rekindled a relationship and started dating. Jazz only recently started doing autopsies on him bc she was curious and wanted to use his body to investigate resurrections and the undead. Jason agreed and Jazz also helps him with the Pit Rage in his brain :)

+ Jason keeps Jazz a secret because he doesn’t want any of his siblings taking away her attention, but Jazz is completely focused on her research, so she doesn’t care

+ Jazz is a liminal in this AU, but the ectoplasm is corrupting her, so she has her own version of the Pit Rage (it makes her mentally unstable). However, being with Jason calms her down and her violent urges are expressed through her medical research (which Jason helps her with by being her specimen).

+ Jazz is lowkey insane in this AU, and entirely focused on research, Jason, and the dead. Jason is equally as insane as her.

+ Jazz uses Vlad’s name to get the money and equipment she needs for her own research. He is, however, dead. Her siblings are still in Amity Park or are exploring the world. They are aware of Jazz’s condition, but they let her do what she wants.

+ Jazz has her shadow friend in this AU! (I drew pictures of it in my blog somewhere)

+ In the future, more and more Batfamily members realize that Bruce was NOT crazy and that something is off about Jason. As they start investigating, they discover Jazz and Jason is forced to come clean. There’s a lot of arguing about the safety of him being around her and what she could do to him, but Jason eventually manages to slowly convince them and they come around. In the end, Jazz becomes their emergency doctor if Dr. Thompkins isn’t available.

Truly great moment was Ryo fresh out the hospital jumping out of his car and sucker punching this poor guy to steal his motorcycle. Imagine having to file that police report about how you got knocked the fuck out and your shit stolen by some shirtless blond severely injured 17 year old freak. I would just let it go. Thankfully that guy didn’t have to live with the shame for much longer though considering how the story goes

Troublesome Tangmere and 249 Squadron Reliable Rebecca!

In an ideal world, we could've had a story where Tangmere causes good old Sundrian Confusion and Delay and then promptly eats shit.

Rebecca as 249 Squadron wasn't my idea, but it's been ingrained into my head nonetheless. I like the idea of a Rebecca that spent most of her life in scrapyards and storage and then still coming out singing- quite literally! But the trauma of it is still very much there, just... lingering. I imagine 'What Rebecca Does' was one of those moments where her anxiety and self doubt got the better of her- she only spent a short while on rails, and while she did pull expresses like The Night Ferry back on the mainland, here on Sodor it seemed that everyone is much more.... experienced and worldly and cool, and most of all, they got modifications and rebuilds to work around their design flaws while Rebecca is still very much an unrebuilt bulleid pacific. Poor girl's not sure what she can really do, after all these years and with her mechanical problems. This isn't even getting into when she WAS in service- her family was fine, and quite loving actually- and the ex SR engines were a decent sort! Everyone else, however...

When did the Animorphs come closest to defeat? All three of “which battle did they come the closest to one of them dying in (not counting battles which got time-shenanagined or the final battle in book 54”, “which battle did they come the closest to ALL of them dying in”, and “which non-battle scenario nearly cost them the war”?

Probably they were closest to defeat in the first few books. Because when they get trapped and surrounded by enemies later in the war, they usually have skills that allow them to get out of peril. For example, they're surrounded by enemies early in #25 — but they escape through skill, coordination, manipulating Visser Three, and knowing they can take any hit that doesn't insta-kill. Early on, they lack that experience.

The kids don't even get their first partial victory over a single yeerk until #6. They barely get noticed by the Empire until #7. They have no real allies until #10 and #13.

So I'll vote for #5 as their nearest brush with total defeat. They're all in a cell on the Blade ship, and don't have an escape plan. Rachel doesn't have a morph that can fight indoors. Tobias can't morph at all. Marco's not thinking straight. All six of them are stuck. The only reason they don't all die is that Visser One wants to embarrass Visser Three. That's it. The kids do nothing to make this happen, and can only react to the Vissers' games.

IMHO that's the closest the Resistance comes to total loss. There's no one else — not rebel chee, not free hork-bajir, not Auximorphs, not friendly andalites — who knows the yeerks are on Earth and is willing to fight them. It's after Ax joins the team, but before they've learned how to work as a unit. Neither Rachel nor Tobias has yet learned to play to their strengths, and Marco's within-Empire political games won't start for several more books. If Visser One had been 10 minutes slower in going "you know what'd be hilarious? If I let the bandits go", then I think that'd be it for humanity.
