Negl I'm absolutely desperate for more fem (main) characters in BL but sadly, you're right, there aren't many main characters who fit the description. There aren't even many side characters who fit the description (and even fewer fem side characters who aren't primarily there for comedic relief).

Like, I loved Green in 2Together. I wish the story had treated him better and I still follow Gun Korawit on ig hoping he'll get more roles soon because he's so lovely (the same goes for Bruce Sirikorn who I just adore and who finally FINALLY got a lovely side role in Step by Step).

It always makes me really sad when I browse the comment section of MDL or the hellscape that is x (or even reddit) and people are just so dismissive and cruel when it comes to fem BL characters or even actors - calling them annoying or unattractive. They want their "ukes" not to be too manly (whatever that even means) but never in a confident or unapologetic or flirty way. And let's not even go into what they think of fem characters who don't fit the stereotypical "bottom" cliché...

That being said, there's probably a spectrum here for what makes a BL character fem. Some people might include characters like Yai in Big Dragon or Pete in Love By Chance (or Fluke Natouch in pretty much every single one of his BL roles - most of which I actually disagree with lmao) but let me give you a few examples of feminine main characters in (Thai - because that's most of what I watch) BL that I'm really vibing with:

PP Krit as Oh-aew in I Told Sunset About You & I Promised You the Moon. Because if you're not at least a little bit in love with Oh-aew then I don't even know. 🥰

Tootsies and the Fake and its series prequel Diary of Tootsies - this is more a queer comedy than BL but I absolutely adore it. Very funny, very cute and heartwarming too. 💜

James Supamongkon as Uea in Bed Friend - if you like your fem characters confident and sexy (with an incredibly upsetting backstory - be warned) then this series is for you.

Pak Naphat as Namnuea in Wedding Plan - Nuea is the softest, thirstiest, cutest boy. This Mame series is often overlooked because it isn't as dramatic as her usual stuff but I liked it a lot when I watched it.

Earth Katsamonnat as Seeiw in My Only 12% - because Seeiw in the latter half of the series is the most confident we've seen Earth since Until We Meet Again (but personally I'm still waiting for the day when I can see Earth play someone in overknees and a cute skirt 🥰)

Turbo Chanokchon as Anda in Love Stage!! (the Thai remake) - so what if I needed to lie down for a bit when Anda wore that wedding dress and wig etc. That's a completely normal reaction. (Turbo also had a small side role in Nitiman and he looked so elegant and confident there that he totally stole each scene he was in).

Fluke Natouch as Krit in Make a Wish - this one never had an international release but if you can track it down with fansubs then it's a cute little watch and Fluke looks amazing in it. This series also has Pon Thanapon (Jeff in Pit Babe) in a side role and that's always a plus.

Tor Atagorn as Nail in For Him is simply GORGEOUS! The series is still ongoing and recently lost some of its steam but Nail's styling remains meticulous!

ok I’ve put together a list of disability-focused books for me read while I have the Seattle library ebook card. I’m not sure what order I’m going to read them in, yet. and obviously this list is non exhaustive, it’s just what I could find & deem worth reading from a surface level glance at the blurbs right now, while I have a migraine. i fully intend to explore other topics and revisit other titles im unsure about/prioritizing lower, I have them tagged separately on Libby.

Care Work by Leah Lakshmi Piepzna-Samarasinha — I don’t think I can do this one justice in a couple lines of tumblr text. read its blurb yourself, it includes: “a toolkit for everyone who wants to build radically resilient, sustainable communities of liberation where no one is left behind.”

My Body Is Not A Prayer Request by Amy Kenny — appeals to my experience living as disabled and intersex in a rural part of the Bible Belt in an evangelical household

Disability Pride by Ben Mattlin — gonna be honest, I threw this one in without reading its blurb. regardless of its quality, I believe I should read it based off title

Crip Kinship by Shayda Kafai — this book is based around an art activism project called Sins Invalid, exploring some of the messaging of it in a disability justice framework

Against Technoableism by Ashley Shew — from what I can gather, this book touches a lot on the social model of disability

Decarcerating Disability by Liat Ben-Moshe — prison abolition and decarceration with a disability focus

QDA by Raymond Luczak — QDA stands for queer disability anthology, also threw this one in based on the title

Don’t Leave me (unfinished TR vore fic)

A/N: Just not into TR anymore but wrote this back when I was hyperfixating bad asdsggg. No thoughts, just Manila Mikey. Takemichi is tiny bc reasons. “‘Mitchy,” Mikey tilts his head, black bangs sweep over his eyes. He holds the shrunken man closer to his face as his empty eyes seem to bore into Takemichi.

“Why did you leave me?” His voice bears no tone. It’s a simple question, though Takemichi is well aware of the implications behind those words. Why did you abandon Toman, abandon me?

Takemichi felt the beginnings of tears well in his eyes as he opened his mouth, yet no words were able to escape.

“I wanted us to stay together.” The tattooed man drones on. His blank gaze doesn’t leave Takemichi.

Mikey is waiting expectantly. The same carefree smile he wore on his face in his Toman days stays plastered on his face, the one remnant that Mikey wasn’t completely gone. Yet that smile didn’t reach his cold, barren eyes. The longer Takemichi stared, the more he felt as if he were being swallowed up by those eyes.

“Mikey, I know you. I know nothing has really changed. So...so stop that bullshit, and let’s go home.” It’s all Takemichi can say before that familiar smile quickly fades.

“Takemitchy, what part do you seem to not understand?” He leans close to Takemichi, unconsciously tightening his grip on the shrunken man. “I can’t go back home. There’s nothing left for me back in Japan.” He says knowingly, almost disappointed with Takemichi’s urging.

His fingers squeeze the 26-year-old’s tiny frame tighter. Takemichi pushes against the encompassing fingers, trying to shove past the suffocating feeling of his ribs being crushed, before Mikey’s palm goes flat again.

Takemichi stumbles back, doubled over as he catches his breath. He is suddenly well-aware of how comparatively small he was to the normally shorter man. Rational talk wasn’t going to get Mikey to return, especially not after what he did to the rest of Toman. He was the only person left who had a connection to Mikey’s past.

Mikey sighs and sets Takemichi down on the pile of concrete and bike scraps. Takemichi’s heart jumps to his throat as Mikey reaches down beside him, worried that he would be snatched up against his will once again; but instead, he pulls out a handgun.

“You know, I called you here to finally end it all,” Mikey says softly, staring wistfully at it before looking back down at Takemichi. “But since you can’t kill me at that size, I’ll just have to drag you down with me.”

Takemichi freezes as Mikey’s words sink in. What? His mind didn’t register Mikey leaning down to wrap his hands around his tiny form.

It all happened too quickly. Takemichi found himself from the ‘safety’ of Mikey’s hands to the warm cavern of the other man’s mouth. He couldn’t think, he couldn’t breathe. Was Mikey really going to kill him like his?

Naoto! His saving grace! Takemichi pushed against the warm walls, trying to call for help while Mikey’s calm voice filled his prison.

“He’s already gone, Tachibana.”

Dread seeped into Takemichi’s veins, no, this couldn’t be it. He had to do everything in his power to prevent this future, he had to save Mikey, save everybody.

A resounding shot of a bullet filled the air and Takemichi’s prison came crashing down.
