During an interview, the manor guests suddenly get a question about you. (Part 2)

hello hello! here is part 2 as promised. there are less characters than I hoped to write, but in exchange each blurb is a little longer than pt.1 !

Q. Could you describe your relationship with (Y/N)?

🦌 Bane rubs his chin, tracing his memory. "Hm... Indeed, I'm familiar with that name. I'd suppose that's someone I knew when I worked for the DeRosses." He crosses his arms with a low, contemplative grunt, as if struggling to remember anything else. "I'd need a photograph." I happen to have a couple on hand, and he takes them gently. A long period of silence follows. After leafing through the photos for some time, he says: "I remember. They were always talking about marriage." With you? "Mm. I was never interested, but I never said no. Eventually I made them a ring from a scrap of iron. I hoped they'd stop visiting me if I satisfied them... It's too dangerous to come to the forest everyday." Then he reaches into his pocket, pulling out a ring of his own. "In exchange, they gave one back." He's been cherishing it all this time, even when he'd forgotten its origin.

🪼 Ivy - "I'm no stranger to feeling like I'm missing my other half, you know. That sense of loss is one of the only constants I have left. (Y/N) fills my emptiness, and without them it increases twofold." I open my mouth to ask, Do you think you could be soulmates? but then my eyes dart to the Yithian and I realize my mistake. Sorry, was that insensitive? Ivy is not amused with my implication that she might be interested in claiming (Y/N)'s soul. "My dear interviewer, I am a scholar, not a monster. Whatever you're insinuating, you're gravely mistaken."

🤡 Joker's face suddenly hardens, in spite of the fragile, twiddling-thumbs demeanor he'd shown me thus far. His hands ball into shaking fists and his lips purse, as if he's psyching himself up for a fight. Are you okay? I ask, preemptively guarding myself with my clipboard. Tears brim his eyes and the strength falls from his shoulders. He mutters out, "All I wanted was to be their sword and shield, their angel of light, and they left me out of my mind. Hahaha... Wanna know the biggest joke of all? I'd let them drive me crazy all over again."

🦎 Luchino's mouth stretches into a lazy grin. "That one's a cutie, eh? Had the pleasure of meeting them yet?" I shake my head, reminding him that (Y/N) is the focus of my current investigation. I guess his laidback attitude fooled me into saying too much. He promptly straightens his back, the smile fading. "Yeah... Yeah, from one researcher to another, I get the intrigue," he says. "But I can't say I fancy another guy using my love as a test subject."

🪞 Mary - "Do you take pleasure in nosing around a lady's private affairs? I'd expect more tact, even for an interviewer." The chill in her tone startles me. I sputter out something in my defense, but Mary huffs and waves me into silence. "(Y/N) is enjoying the privilege of being my right-hand. They're my favorite one so far, too. I dismissed the others without a second thought."

🤕 Naib - "On good terms." Wringing out any insightful answers from this man is tougher than I thought. In hopes of inspiring more of a reaction, I tell a small lie: When I interviewed (Y/N), they described a rather colorful affection for you... Almost immediately, Naib breaks eye contact and crosses his arms. But I still only get a guttural "Hm." in response. Can you confirm if this is true? I press. His answer is, once again, a curt "Hm." (Slightly more affirmative, I would say).

🕯️ Philippe - "My work has always stood as a testament to my love," he caresses the wax figure grafted onto his shoulder, "but shielding someone in life is a far greater challenge than honoring my losses. My worries are endless." Suddenly reminded of his sister's tragedy, I offer a sympathetic smile. Do you believe (Y/N) is in danger? Philippe returns my smile, though I can't make out the intent. "Of course. Evil lurks around every corner. At the very least, it won't reach them while I'm around."

🎭 Sangria - A fond smile graces her face as she recounts her memory. "It was clear to me after some time that I had disastrously entranced them." Then she adds, lightly, "I hadn't meant to, of course. At the time, I thought, I'm not looking for love—no, I'd had enough of it all—but soon, their smile would appear in my mind every time I sang. When someone gives you that much inspiration? You'd be a fool to let them go." She has a playful tone of voice, but I can tell (Y/N) means a great deal to her.

when taehyun suggested that you watch him at soccer practice, he hadn't exactly predicted that you bring your studying materials. now, was it nearing finals? yes. did you still dedicate time to see him? also yes. so to taehyun, it was a win-win solution that–quite honestly–made his heart melt at the way you were so quick to agree that you wanted to see him practice but also prompted him that you were going to study, too.

a couple of hours fly by with occasional cheers and sounds of excitement that erupt. occupying the front-row bench with your textbook and notes out, scattered pens and paper, you look up whenever you feel like it just to smile at your boyfriend who's just as enthusiastic to see you here with him. 

an idea sparks in taehyun's mind when he has to change into another shirt after drenching his current one. he mindlessly goes to remove it considering the rest of the guys were doing the same but he decides to approach you with a smirk on his face. he's able to succumb to the success that he surprised you with him being shirtless with his toned muscles on display; strands of hair sticking to his forehead from the sweat.

he smiles at you sweetly, pointing at his towel next to you, "help dry me out?"

"could i use your body?" you ask, tossing the towel onto the bench and his eyes widen. he'd be lying to say he wasn't completely bamboozled but then again, you did have your way of being honest. something he found quite endearing. he stammers a reply, but he manages nonetheless, "s-sure."

"okay, stay still," you gently tug him to stand by your side as you sit down, reaching for a marker and...

"what the hell is going on there?" yeonjun snorts, after taking his sip of water and now noticing one of their star players is currently hogged up by a bench, where his partner is drawing lines and marks on his body while holding up a textbook. beomgyu nearly dies of laughter watching the scenario, but doesn't say anything directly.

when taehyun glances over and meets eyes with them, all he does is shake his head and shrug, motioning for them to play the next round of games without him.

((taehyun can't even be mad when he sees how hard you're studying. knowing very well that one day, your goal is to help save people's lives and to better society for the... better, his heart warms at the thought.

Summary: He remembered the echoes of those very few lives that had been dear to him, and he wished she could come back and whisper to him and tell him how to cradle a life the way she did.

Lilia always carried himself with dignity when in the presence of royalty, but today, he grovelled before the Queen, with both his knees on the ground and his eyes facing down, shut tight, and he wished, oh how he wished this fate could’ve fallen on some other poor soul, some other poor souls. 

“Queen Maleficia,” he said, where others would have been frozen in fear, his throat was burning in guilt, “They are dead.” 

He felt the air pulled into the room. He heard her sceptre violently struck against the ground once. And his weak, weak arms only wrapped more tightly against the egg in his embrace while her emerald flames spread throughout the chamber silently, hauntingly, as if a mindless wraith extending its curse to drown all that is living. His legs were burning inside his armour, he was kneeling in hell, and still he only held the egg tighter, and tighter. 

Oh how he wished he could simply lie down and speak not a single word and let the flames claim him and be at rest. But the moment he had chosen to bring this unborn life back home still haunted him whenever he closed his eyes. It haunted him, she haunted him. She was cold and ashen before he could get to her yet he could still feel her fingers on his neck, her breath in his ears. He could still see her embracing her only child with all her love and strength and protection and hope, waiting for someone to find her, find her child, bring him home, and as the child was passed onto Lilia, he thought he must raise the child to the light, as she would’ve done, as she would’ve commanded him to do, if she could’ve, if he had gotten to her in time. 

“Her child is still alive,” his voice rose from the silent flames. 

The flames stopped. They did not disappear, they only stopped. 

“Give him to me,” the Queen was right in front of him. 

For the first time since Lilia peeled the child from the mother’s grasp, he allowed his arms to loosen, and with all the gentleness he remembered of her, he stood up and placed the child into the grandmother’s arms. 

The Queen held the egg close to her cheek, closed her eyes, and pressed her forehead against it. In ten heartbeats, the flames began to retreat into the ground. 

Lilia remembered the mother doing the same. He remembered flying over her playfully and glancing at her gentle visage and picturing the long years ahead where she would continue to clutch her child tight because it was a hope that she had waited for hundreds of years for it to arrive. 

He felt his lips tremble, and he covered it with his hand. He had raised the child to the light now, there was no more he could do to honour her now, he thought, now, he could finally rest.

“Lilia,” her voice caught him. He looked up at the Queen’s face and he saw a ghost of her beautiful daughter, “Thank you.” 

Now he dropped to his knees, his armour clanged against the ground. And now everything hurt, the burn wounds hurt, the cut wounds hurt, the loss hurt. Of all the things she could have said to let him rest with the dead, she said one thing to make him heal with the living. 

The Queen left one kiss on her grandchild’s egg before giving it back to Lilia. “Stay with him,” she said. Her hands were cold. She should have been trembling, and for the same reason as him, she didn’t. She held herself together, she turned around. 

“Leave me.” 

He bowed and left. He needed to as well. He walked along the hallway. He didn’t bother healing his legs. He walked along the hallway, along the candlelight. He saw ghosts walking before him, a father and a mother cradling a child, a king and a queen cradling an heir. He thought about chasing them, chasing her. He walked along the candlelight, and in the silence of the flames, he remembered the echoes of those very few lives that had been dear to him, that had mattered to him. He remembered her eyes flickering with joy when she had stood right here holding the same child he was holding right now, and oh how he wished she could come back and whisper to him and tell him how to cradle a life the way she did, how to shower the child with hope and joy again the way she did, after all the lights were gone and the hallway was silent. 

But he walked. 

“I will raise him to the light.” 

He walked. 

“I will raise him to your light, Malecia.”

Hello and thank you for asking me this!!

🤡 I am incredible bad at humor lmao i think it's bc English isn't my first language, i struggle a lot with dialogue in general. Humor is SO HARD. That being said, i usually make myself laugh at how stupid my characters are while pining. 😆

Wander 🎩🪕(Wander Over Yonder) - Bugs Bunny level antics that waste about eleven minutes of everyone's lives and leave every single person convinced he couldn't do it. It would be the cleanest and easiest top surgery on record and I would walk away unscathed.

Commander Peepers 👁💥(Wander Over Yonder) - He'd take it deadly seriously and spend the whole thing nervously sweating. He would get it done but it wouldn't be flawless. Gods help me if Hater walks into the room during the surgery.

Jack Skellington 💀🎃(Nightmare Before Christmas) - A scientific and analytical mind bodes well for surgery. However. He is a skeleton and I'm fairly certain he doesn't understand how human bodies work or that we can't dismantle ourselves like some monsters. 0/10. Love him to bits. Wouldn't trust him as far as I can throw one of his rib bones.

The Trickster 🪄🎁(Koozå) - Wouldn't even need to go under. I have seen this man summon people out of nothing, my chest would be flat before I could blink. He'd make a performance out of it though and probably make me feel not entirely safe because he is peak moral ambiguity.

The Doctor ⏳️🌌(Doctor Who) - One would take it seriously but I wouldn't trust his unsteady hands. Two would probably have an anxiety attack so that's a nope. Three, Four and Five I trust to get it done safely and seriously. Honestly Six is... well he's certainly the most eccentric regeneration so probably not. Seven I'm not sure would do it properly even though he could take it seriously. Then again he could surprise me, he's more compitent than he appears. Eight and Nine? Ah shit I dunno honestly. Ten's a yes, Eleven is a huge nope, Twelve is a very safe yes and Thirteen is also a safe yes. Fourteen is just Ten repeated so also a yes. I don't know Fifteen well enough to say yet.

James "Jamie" McCrimmon 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🗡(Doctor Who) - He's got the steady hands and seriousness needed, yes. Unfortunately he is from the 18th century and about sixty years before anaesthesia was invented.

Sebastian 🖥🕸(Stardew Valley) - Yeah, actually. I think he'd take it seriously and have steady enough hands for it. I'm in safe company there 👍

I have seen the face he makes when he kills someone. I wouldn't trust this lunatic within one mile of me while I am fully conscious and he is unarmed. Especially considering he has been unarmed every time I have seen him kill.

The Phantom 💀🎩(Phantom Manor) - Quite honestly I couldn't say. This man was adept at murder but only when given a reason, like his victims wanting to marry his daughter. I can thankfully say that I am queer enough for that to not apply to me. Doesn't make me trust him though.

Captain Rex 🪖🚀(Star Wars: The Clone Wars) - While I'd like to say battlefield first aid would give him some experience - which is true - surgeries are left up to droids. But even so I would say I'd be in safe hands. I trust him to get the job done well.

Phantom 📜✒️ (Natewantstobattle) - If you know Phantom you're probably expecting a no, but he holds up his ends of any deal he makes! I absolutely trust him to give me the easiest, cleanest surgery ever. What I don't trust him to do is let me enjoy it for long because whoopsy-doopsy I'm now trapped inside his cane forever.

1. Are you named after anyone?

my first name’s from a non recurring character in a soap opera my mom had watched since she was like 14. she swore that’s what she’d name her first girl and kept it a secret so no one could steal it for That Long (and i have 2 older brothers and i’m rly glad they weren’t girls cuz idk who i’d be without this name) // my middle name is after a close family friend that i rly don’t know much about, other than seeing a photo of her holding me as a baby. she passed when i was super young so i never met her when i was any older. i should ask my dad about her.

2. When was the last time you cried?

i’ve started coming off my ssri so i been at least tearing up if not full on wailing every day of january so far hahaha effexor withdrawals are no fuckin joke

3. Do you have kids?

i could see myself fostering kids some day. otherwise being the cool aunt is perfect for me (and i just got a brand spankin new niece on the 12th!)

i did gymnastics/dance, basketball, track, and cheerleading growin up. i wanna get back into gymnastics/dance classes tho (i wanna do pole dance so bad) cuz my muscle memory and flexibility without practicing or stretching is still crazy
