Surely please!
WIP Wednesday 2/28/24 (CLOSED) | Surely
"Yeah, it really doesn't." Neil confirms for a third time.
Andrew nods, "Go check on Kevin." he says. "I'll meet you both at the checkout." he adds.
Neil nods, this is standard for them. Andrew mans the cart, and Neil tries to wrangle Kevin. He gets there and finds Kevin torn between a larger number of blueberries or organic. "You always pick quality over quantity." Neil reminds him knowing this whole song and dance before.
Kevin looks at him and then at the organic blueberries, "I guess I do." he says and with that he's done. He's settled on what vegetables and fruits he wants for the week for his salads and smoothies.
They go through the check-out separately. Andrew and Neil together and Kevin right behind them. Andrew puts the Cherry 7UP on the belt and hands it right to Neil once the cashier scans it. "If you don't like it, I'll finish it." Andrew says.

🌹🌹🌹 more for the hoarding
Thank you love! Dutch Courage Ch4 (the penultimate chapter!) is coming and hoping to have it done by the weekend and I am once again stumbling into background Jan Maas facts and here I couldn't help myself
“I thought you were trying to make me feel better,” Jamie’s voice little more than a whisper.
“I am trying to get you to fight. The police are doing everything they can, the team security is doing everything they can. If you want to stay in your room then fine but if that is your decision then be honest with yourself.”
The silence that followed Jan’s declaration stretched on for an age.
“I’m fucking scared alright,” Jamie snarled. The feral animal analogies had never been more apt. The only way Jamie knew how the protect himself was to yowl and scratch until no one wanted to get close, then no one would be around to see him crumble. But when Jan Maas was seven he decided that he wanted to be a vet focusing on wild animals and animals who didn’t have a home and so in that year he gained plenty of experience approaching and tending to animals who did not want to be tended to. He also gained plenty of tetanus boosters, the full set, but that wasn’t relevant to the Jamie of it all. The point was that Jan wasn’t going to be deterred by the prickly outside his friend was retreating into.

January: We really want to thank for you for coming out today, Jacob. I know it's been a really tough day.
Jacob: Honestly, I blame myself for getting involved with Felix. I knew he was non-committal from the beginning.
January: We can't help who we fall in love with, believe me, I know.
Jacob: When he accepted my proposal, I thought maybe he'd changed. We were planning our wedding . . .
January: And he gave you good reason to believe he had.
Jacob: He said he met someone at the wedding. He said their name was-
*A soft knocking is heard coming from the front door*
Mitchell: That son of a llama . . .
January: I'm guessing his name was J, J Huntington.

i am usually very unaware of my physical body. all of "me" is just in my head. and "me" is not something i have a solid sense of.
'tis a strange and confusing experience, floating through life as a barely-aware autistic

To illustrate this post by @mayahawkse I would like to visualize to you the difference:
A post in 2023:
A post in 2014:
A zoom out of the same post:
This is what a community looks like.
See how in 2023 almost all of the reblogs come from the OP, from their few hours/days in the tag search. Meanwhile in 2014 the % of reblogs from OP is insignificant, because most of the reblogs come from the reblogs within the fandom, within the micro-communities formed there. You didn't need to rely on tags, or search, or being featured. Because the community took care of you, made sure to pass the work between themselves and onto their blog and exposed their followers to it. It kept works alive for years.
It's not JUST the reblog/like ratio that causing this issue, it's the type of interaction people have. They're content with scrolling and liking the search engine, instead of actually having a reblogging relationship with other blogs in their community.
Anyways, if you want to see more content you like, the only true way to make it happen is to reblog it. Likes do not forward content in no way but making OP feel nice. Reblogs on the other hand make content eternal. They make it relevant, they make it exist outside of a fickle tumblr search that hardly works on the best of days.
If you want more of something, reblog it.

AU where Jason gets his revenge by becoming a lawyer and getting joker sentenced to the death penalty
Bruce is conflicted about it but any time he tries to say anything on the subject Alfred just talks over him like "oh we're so proud of you master Jason you finished college and you didn't even use your father's extensive resources that could've easily gotten someone in this family a degree aren't we so proud master Bruce that Jason got himself a respectable profession--"

while i get where this comes from and it’s true to an extent, i reeeaaaally don’t like how people try to explain “trans men don’t [necessarily] have male privilege” with things like “some trans men don’t pass”.
like sure that’s the most obvious example (someone who is seen as a woman won’t have the privilege that comes with being seen a man) but you’re still acting like being a passing trans man is just a free opt-in to male privilege which is………kinda the issue.
