Me rewatching Prince of Egypt and being reminded how much I love the relationship between Moses and Tzipporah. It’s not given a ton of focus but the little moments that show how they love and care for each other are perfection.

Plus, they have a forehead kiss and I’m biased towards pairings that have at least one forehead kiss. Or a headbutt of love if a forehead kiss is not available.

3 ships: I don't find myself shipping in media as much as I used to, but here are some that won't let me go -clenches fist and cries-

Narumitsu: Phoenix Wright and Miles Edgeworth from Ace Attorney; the power these two hold over me... I haven't read fanfiction in YEARS but I read a handful of them last year and I can't get them outta my mind. These two are meant to BE, even if you looked at them in a purely platonic lens

Dorothy x Laurent: from Great Pretender; they are so tragic. ESPECIALLY WITH THE ENDING OF RAZBLIUTO... I can't get over them. They didn't get to have their time in the sun and they let each other go before they could ever get to it. No I'm not sad you are T_T

Howl and Sophie: from Howl's Moving Castle; I remember the first time watching the ghibli movie and I was just WRITHING and GROANING at their build up, it was so good!! I have the books; they're different from their movie iterations, but in the book they're funny and stupid and dramatic. Howl is way more dramatic and stupid lmfao. They're a nice, feel-good easy ship

Prince of Egypt

Things I noticed/feel like need to be talked about more while watching it on the plane.

I. Miriam and Yocheved

When Moses first meets Miriam, he pushes her away and denies that he is her brother. When Moses turns to leave, Miriam sings their mother’s lullaby. Both Moses and Aaron recognize the song and turn to look at her, but what Aaron cannot see that Moses can is that Miriam looks like Yocheved. This is one of the most noticed parallels, but also one of the most meaningful.

II. Moses and the Hebrews

When the film starts, Moses obviously doesn’t noticed the slaves very much, only ordering them around. After he meets Miriam, he starts to notice how tired and defeated they look. When he returns with Tzipporah (his wife) the Hebrews have obvious whip marks and are worn thin.

III. Moses and the Midianites

When Moses is first welcomed to the feast with Tzipporah’s people, her father (Jethro) gives him his own coat. From then on, Moses is always wearing Jethro’s coat. I see this as him being welcomed into the people and their community.

IV. Moses and his nephew Rameses’ Son

When Moses fully interacts with Rameses Jr., the boy interrupts his and Rameses almost reconciliation and drags Rameses back into despising Moses. The boy also stands under the drawing babies in the mural, something foreshadowing his death in the next thing as Moses warns Rameses of God’s next punishment. When the boy dies, Moses tries to comfort Rameses and breaks down in tears for the boy who would have been his nephew. Tzipporah and Miriam both notice this and comfort him when he needs it.

V. The March of Freedom

When the Hebrews are finally freed, many are cautious when leaving and weary. Later, during the song “When You Believe” they are showed to be dancing, singing, and playing instruments with each other and at random in celebration, showing that they are now more light hearted and relaxed. It illustrates that they now believe their freedom.

VI. The Overseers

When the Hebrews leave, many overseers and soldiers toss down their weapons and their headdresses and join them. They are shown throughout the March, and the Hebrews seem to welcome them as one of their own, as refugees.

VII. River of Blood

When God turns water to blood through Moses, the water stays clear and fresh around him. I’m not sure if it’s talked about in the Bible or any other religious text, but to me it seems like the blood is that of the innocent babies (I don’t think the guards even bothered to check if they were just boys like they did in the Bible, even then I doubt all of them checked.) thrown into it.

VIII. End Scene

When Moses comes down from the mountain with the Ten Commandments, the theme playing is his but it’s overlaid with Miriam’s rendition of “Deliver Us” and Yocheved’s final note, signaling that Moses has returned and delivered them and is now safe.

IX. Miriam and Tzipporah

Throughout the film, Miriam and Tzipporah grow closer and support each other more. Going from smiling at each other, to squeezing each other’s hands and shoulders, to fill out embracing in happiness.

X. Tzipporah’s Sisters

When Moses and Tzipporah talk about leaving after God speaks to him, and then when they leave, Tzipporah’s sisters and father are shown in the background. The girls have obviously gotten taller, their hair has changed, and their outfits have changed too (though not drastically, you can still tell who they are). It’s a great minor detail.

okay that’s a super hard question. Im gonna go with Top 5 Current Ships:

Clary Fray & Maia Roberts - Shadowhunters

I think everyone knows it at this point. Clary and Maia are one of my major OTPs. They are a wonderful team. 

Clary, loyal to a fault, reckless, but with a naiveté to her character, a willingness to see the good in people, and a desire to work against the system if she has to. 

Maia, a werewolf who loves the belonging feeling of a Pack, of a family, a woman with so much betrayal in her past that she desperately need for people to be loyal to her, that she sees bad easily in people, who will sacrifice anything and anyone for her family. 

Clary, who desires a sense of normalcy in her life again, after everything that happened, after all the change and the death, 

and Maia, a grounded person, with a job, and an apartment, plans for the future, studying, and a life outside of her role in the Shadow World. 

They fit like pieces of a puzzle. With Clary, Maia gets to be vulnerable and safe, and with Maia, Clary gets to be normal and honest, and not wonder about what horrible thing the future has in store. 

Magnus Bane & Alec Lightwood - Shadowhunters

Do I need to say as much as I did for Claia? Probably not. 

Magnus and Alec, the Warlock and the Shadowhunter, people who have so much pain in their minds, so much hatred directed at them. People who can heal together and grow together, and change things together. They are a couple that opens doors for others, trail-blazers. 

They are beautiful and strong, and they love each other so deeply, no matter their differences, and that’s just... fairy-tale-like. 

Alysha Catherine Gale & Graham Buchanan - The Enchantment Emporium

They are like so fucking cute y’all. 

Diana Bishop & Matthew de Clairmont - A Discovery of Witches

A 1,500 year old vampire who studies the genetics and evolution of non-humans, and a 30-ish history of science professor who is also a witch but unwilling to use her powers? They are huge fucking nerds. Sign me the fuck up. 

Moses & Tzipporah - The Prince of Egypt. 

I cried again while watching that movie last night. This entire thing is a masterpiece.

I love Dreamworks and their red-blue couples.

For anyone confused as to why I put Miguel and Tulio: In the original script, Miguel and Tulio were a legitimate couple, with pet-names and everything. Their relationship was cut out of the final movie, but the pet-names are still in the subtitles of some DVDs. (XXX)

And I put Keith and Lance because they’re an extremely popular ship from a Dreamworks series with loads of chemistry and the audience’s interest has even been acknowledged by the creators (who also happen to have a history of lgbt rep in the things they’ve worked on).

10) Do you ship any characters that have never met?

In Bleach, yes, I do. I ship Abarai Renji, my favourite Shinigami, with Grimmjow Jaegerjacques, my favourite Espada. After all, they both have amazing hair, killer bodies, extremely hot smiles and grins, and they’re both just so alike that just imagining the both of them together is quite hot, honestly.

I also ship Kuchiki Byakuya with the Quincy Jugram Haschwalth, since they’d also make quite a gorgeous pair together. They’re both super pretty and have beautiful hair, they’re both quite stoic, and they both have a hot-headed counterpart who also work well together, so... yeah. They may not have met in canon, but they could be a good ship together.

20) Talk about a ship you feel alone in shipping.

Honestly, I feel a bit alone in shipping Renji x Byakuya. I know that there are fans of this ship, but I wasn’t involved in the ship fandom during its height, and now most of them seem to have moved on to other things. Plus, there are the spite-shippers that hate on Renji and lick Byakuya’s feet, and I want nothing to do with those people, so I do kinda feel a bit lonely sometimes. 

So if anyone else out there ships Renji and Byakuya, please respond!

30) Name a couple of fandoms in which you have no ships.

Oh, I’ve never been in a fandom where I haven’t shipped anything, actually.

40) If you could change one thing about your OTP, what would that be?

Alien franchise (Ripley x Hicks): I’d make it so that they both are able to go back to Earth after the end of the second movie, and they form a little family unit with Newt and Bishop, and none of the events of the third movie ever happen. Wait, I already refuse to acknowledge the existence of the third movie, so... well, that’s my answer, haha!

Bleach (Renji x Byakuya): I’d add a chapter in which we hear just what Renji wanted to say to Byakuya in the infirmary before Ichigo interrupted the moment. Obviously, it had been important enough that it’s changed their dynamic for the better for the rest of the manga, but I do wish to see how they managed to reconcile and make amends with one another, especially with how Byakuya made amends with Renji. In addition, I would have also added a few more moments between them in the Thousand-Year Blood War Arc.

The Prince of Egypt (Moses x Tzipporah): I don’t think I can change anything about them. They’re already perfect.
