I think when the time has passed, Sakurai will come back and get loads of works like usual and they might not recast someone else to voice his characters. Aside from his scandal, he’s one of the most valuable voice actor in the industry so they probably just gonna keep him. This is just my thought tho…

Here's for Kidd:

I like that goofy goober hahah, probably my 5th favorite supernova after Luffy, Law, Zoro and Bege. Maybe it has to do with his voice actor being Namikawa Daisuke who has insane vocal range (Oikawa. that you??) I have so much respect for NamiDai for his amazing performance as Kidd and hope his efforts will pay off.

The fandom takes Kidd slanders too far, especially whenever they compare him to Law 🫠 He's literally stuck at SH's next destination, he has a higher chance of having redemptive screentime before Law.

The final arc in OP would be a full fledged war, it's not like being defeated means one's possible relevancy drops to zero. I think Oda still hasn't explored his earlier plans with Kidd yet, so I have high hopes.

As for Doffy.. well I'm a Doffy trash too.

I was bummed to see him ranked 20th in the last official poll. IMHO you can't write a Shonen manga character better than this.

Take Cora and Law for example, 5th and 13th, I think their arcs would fall bland if you remove Doffy from their stories. But Doffy would STILL be intriguing and amazing as a character if you remove Law and Cora from his story, he's just that good.

Everyone has their own interpretation of Doffy and there's room for debate, there's still more about him to learn, he has never wasted a single panel he's in. What I like about Doffy most is probably how deeply he hates, especially Law, I don't think Oda has shown petty outburst better in any other character.

I hope he makes it out of Impel Down. No matter how terrible as a person he is, he deserves to see the fall of Celestial Dragons just as much as their other victims. Better if he gets to play a role. Even better if he shares that role with Law.

One thing’s for sure. That is Sakurai’s 2nd major scandal that I know of. Honestly it’s not even that bad, all things considering. Other seiyuu have gotten away with worse, way worse. Not that I am defending him but I don’t see him losing his career over this personal issue. From what I can see he didn’t harass anyone, break any contract, infringe any copyright (unlike his first major scandal), he didn’t break NDA either.

The dude was never a paragon of virtue in the first place anyway. He was already very controversial like 10-15 years ago. Back then he had been sued and had to pay hefty damages for plagiarism. In fact, that scandal almost literally killed his career. He was cut off from much of his voice and acting jobs. The stakes for him were much much higher.

Moreover It has always been obvious that he was married no matter how much he kept everything under wraps. And that wasn’t anyone’s business even then, either.

This recent revelation is ultimately a matter of privacy. He had reasons for keeping his marriage and ofc his affair private, no matter how practical and fckd up they were. Plus he and his lover seemed to have already broken it off. Now his messed up marriage will be under more public scrutiny. His wife will be stalked as well. I think that’s the more yikes part.

Remember, Kenjiro Tsuda was forced to reveal his own marriage. Kamiyan was forced to reveal he had a family and then publicly apologize when tabloids snapped pictures of him with his kid. Mamo dealt with absurd levels of fan hate when he announced his wife giving birth. Asanuma Shintaro got flak for announcing that he was divorced. OnoKen and Hanazawa Kana were stalked outside the apartment that they secretly lived in together and were also pushed into public apology. Tattsun was relentlessly asked questions while on the street about his affair (tho that was bigger coz he broke NDA). NamiDai’s shtty scandal was found out by tabloids stalking him in love hotels too. NobuRin’s affair was revealed by tabloids in the same manner as well.

Those tabloids digging sht up on celebrities using invasive measures is big business and we're all still buying it.

The idol culture that surrounds seiyuus punishes them when they fall in love/get married/have children/get divorced. Yet it is because of this systemic secrecy that infidelity issues are allowed to run rampant as well. Ofc you'll get all sorts of actors that will take advantage of their reality in ways more than one. This recent scandal is another proof of their fckd up world.

I wish these actors were allowed to deal with their own private sht.

Blue Lock: Another soccer anime. I’ve watched two already last season, and I also mentioned I’m sick of soccer anime. But the animation looks awesome and the cast is good, so I’ll give it a try (funny how OnoYu is in all of those three soccer anime)

Eternal Boys: Middle-aged idols. Might be interesting! A minus: NamiDai (reason - here). But, a plus: Chiaki (in a separate group. Can’t wait to hear more of his singing!)

Vazzrock The Animation: Finally!! Can’t wait to see and hear the boys!

Whatsisface was originally going to be Giorno’s VA until he got called out on the creepy affair thing.

idk & idc what this is about but good, namidai as giorno wouldn't work as well (tho i think he voiced him in the games or something) as his actual seiyuu did. it'd throw the vibe off, namidai is a good voice actor but his voice has a very specific quality that is quite far from generic the way the other guy's is, which works great for giorno. his current actor gave him a very clean-cut vibe, he sounds prim and plucky and plain, which works great for him because giorno is insane and this discrepancy adds to his charm. namidai would have given him a more severe edge he just does not need imo

#nothing i can think of expresses the meaning of the word さわやか like it's not 'refreshing' or 'invigorating' but it fits giorno like a glove #anon
