I am so interested to see your take on Yandere Chan! You write yandere so well!

Yandere!Chan…. I’m gonna do a spit take on what he’s like as a boyfriend.

Personally, I see him much like how my ex was. Never anything physical (unless he needs to resort to these tactics.)

A lot of how Chan is will be purely emotional and mental manipulation/abuse. Chan will constantly play the victim in his own games, the games that he starts and forces you to play. If you don’t play the way he wants you to, he automatically gets upset and blames you for him “losing”.

Depending on the yandere AU we’re looking at, if he’s an idol, I can see him becoming even more possessive than you will comfortable with. He’ll ask you constantly where you’re at and what you’re doing. In the beginning you’ll assume it’s because he cares, but as time goes on you’ll start getting annoyed because those questions will soon come along with assumptions.

Ex. “How are you? What are you doing right now? I bet you’re happier that i’m not there.” “What’s up? Going out on a date today?”

If it’s an AU where the two of you work together, the possessiveness won’t be too bad, but he’ll be very OPEN about your relationship which, at first, will be cute to you until the first argument. Then you’ll realize that he’s telling everyone about the relationship so that when things go bad he can try to “recruit” people to be on his side. He’ll try to turn other coworkers against you so that HE’S the only person you feel like you have, while also staying on those coworkers good sides.

If you try to leave him, he’ll resort to ridiculously hurtful measures to get you to stay with him. Everything that he knows upsets you, he’ll use it against you as a ploy to guilt trip you into staying.

Ex. “Do you want me to k**l myself?? It’ll be your fault!! This is all your fault!!”

Ex 2 if you’re someone that wants kids : “I’ll just pay for an ab***ion for you since you won’t stay with me! I hope you misc***y.”

He’ll constantly message you even when you tell him to leave you alone, and when you tell him to leave you alone, he’ll get even more mad.

Basically, he’s the “Victim Yandere”. Your life will be a miserable, living hell.

10/10 would not recommend being in a relationship with someone like that.

(Yes, I used my ex as the entire basis of this headcanon because honestly, like I see Chan, he was the best guy BEFORE we started dating, but once he got me it became pure chaos and I hated it.)

yeah i got some recs! i'm gonna assume you mean less talked about titles rather than more well-known but quickfire popular recs i have are: chainsaw man, fullmetal alchemist, jjba, fruits basket, jjk and hell's paradise. but onto my other recs:

seinen

children of the sea**: a troubled teen named ruka embarks on the summer adventure of a lifetime after meeting two boys raised by dugongs at her dad's aquarium in the middle of a mysterious event taking place in the ocean.

the summer hikaru died: it's been months since yoshiki's childhood friend and secret crush, hikaru, went missing in the mountains for a week. hikaru's the same as usual, with his jokes and silly rambles and yet, yoshiki can't shake the feeling that whoever came back from that mountain, it wasn't hikaru. much to his horror, it wasn't. but rather than face reality and grief, yoshiki decides to play along with "hikaru's" act (body horror)

and if you like manhwa or would be down for some manhwa recs these are titles i don't see getting recommended enough

concubine walkthrough: a scifi & philosophical spin on the otome isekai genre that asks 'what is reality truly?', 'is your life any less real if you found out all your experiences were a simulation?' and 'what is reality to you?' where protagonist lee yona finds herself stuck in a VR edition of a game she only played once

a wicked tale of cinderella's stepmother: usually when someone wakes up in the body of a villainess, she's the same age as the protagonists. mildred, on the other hand, is stuck in the body of this story's cinderella's stepmother. with no husband and three daughters to take care of, there's only one thing she can really doー build up her daughters' sisterly bonds with one another and make sure they marry into good families (or that they can at least live lives they're happy with)

tricked into becoming the heroine's stepmother: at least mildred got the body of an important character, daisy on the other hand? she's in the body of an NPC you never even see in the story. bright side? this is a story she helped write and after meeting the presently six year old protagonist's father, she and father of the year decide to team up for the ultimate mission: making sure his daughter never meets any of the love interests

inso's law: ham dan-i is in a bit of a pickle when she wakes up and her new school uniform is completely different than the one her mom bought weeks ago. there's a drop dead gorgeous girl next door who claims to be her childhood best friend. even worse, like something straight out of a drama, there are four heavenly kings that rule her school. by the end of the day, dan-i has no other choice but to accept the fact........ her real life has somehow turned into a web novel. even worse, she's a side characterー the main character's best friend

plum: in a world where fruit stacking is a major sport, little plum decides to be the very best like no one ever was and moves to the big city to compete in the fruit stacking games along with making some friends and rivals along the way

Hi, how do you feel about yandere ot8 skz manipulating their love into staying with them? Like which ones do you see using mental/emotional manipulation tactics to keep control vs who is going full blown restraints and fear even manhandling to absolutely just  decimate their SO’s mental state and keep them close?

I feel like the members that would most use mental/emotional manipulation would be Bangchan, Changbin, Hyunjin, and Seungmin. They would be the ones to use guilt trips and heavily victimize themselves. They are extremely narcissistic to a sickening extent. They’ll make you feel like you’re going insane, they’ll put words into your mouth and their constant assumptions will always make you feel like you’re doing something wrong even if you’re not. Their main tactic to keep you to themselves would be turning everyone against you (secretly/behind your back) all while making everyone love them at the same time. They’ll try to take you away under the guise of wanting to take you “somewhere better” because they “love you so much.” Arguing is like a game to them, and lying is just another game to see how far they can get with a lie before they get called out, but god forbid you call them out because then it turns into an even bigger argument. Every day is hell, but when you wake up in the morning it’s like a “clean slate” for them and they pretend it never happened and you better act like it never happened as well or else the argument will just get worse.

As far as restraints, fear and man handling, I can definitely see Jisung, Felix, and Jeongin resorting to these tactics. Strangely enough, I feel like these three truly love you and that’s why they act like this. They want you solely for themselves, and they’re terrified of losing you. I don't think that these three would enjoy having to do this, but in their mind they think that it's the only thing they can do to keep you close to them. I see Jeongin and Jisung as more of the types to use restraints, ex. locking you up or tying you to the bed or something along those lines to keep you from leaving. Felix would be the type to use fear and manhandling. He'd use a lot of violence, not specifically against you, but he'd definitely be the type to throw things and just slightly miss, just enough to scare the shit out of you and keep you from walking out the door. The three of them would constantly tell you that you're not good enough for anyone else, or that no one else would be able to handle you or love you the way they do. They would be the types to break you down and make you feel extremely small, and then in a matter of minutes be the same ones to build you back up and make you feel like the most wonderful person in the world. They'll make you feel like shit, they'll be violent and scary, but they'll do it all under the pretense of loving you.

As far as Minho goes, I can see him being a mix of both of these depending on his mood. I see him being very desperate to keep you in his life so he'd do anything... literally anything. If you talk back a lot, he'd probably have to use the fear/violence tactic to keep you in line. If you're more of the quiet type that thinks a little bit too much for his liking or if you start to figure him out, he'd definitely be the emotional/mental manipulative type. Either way, with him you'll feel like your world is constantly upside down and that you're losing your mind. I think he has the tendency to be the most toxic though because he knows how to use all of these techniques to keep you right where he wants you. He's a master manipulator and that's the scariest part. He can do anything he wants and still get away with it. It's impossible to leave him once you get with him.

Damn, look just how devastated the entire city is during AM flashback, even those giant spikes probably left over from a huge battle that are just left there since there is definitely not resources or people brave enough to try and remove them. One thing is being told that the time of AFO reign of terror was awful to live in, and another is seeing it. And this is probably just the accepted status quo for everyone living at that time.

Just by this conversation alone...

Yeah, Nana and All Might lived in a time of terror that a quirkless middle schooler felt that he should take up a role of protecting people and become a symbol of peace.

Even Nana's attitude here comes off that she has accepted that things will be like this seemingly forever. She fights, she is a hero, but even here she seems sorrowful and hopeless.

Both have accepted that they're living in a time of terror, both are used to living in this time. It's even more so a cruel reality given that they lost their families to this.

However, one is hopeful. And in doing so, Toshinori kinda became that light in Nana's life. This is this first meeting. And with the scenes we seen before when Toshinori talks about her, piecing it together we can figure that Nana started to be more optimistic about the future and believing in him to be a great hero, just as Toshinori does when it comes to Izuku.
