I had a dream that it was December 27th and for some reason, and Mooned had NOT came out yet and it didn't air in movie theaters in the U.S and was being gatekept across countries and I woke up crying because I thought it got cancelled in the U.S release only to find out it's the 12th and it's still before it's release and I'm fine.

in case anyone wants to do anything with this idea.

I had a nightmare last night where the community i had been a part of had been having attacks in the night from people breaking in. It seemed like they were under direction from a specific person or entity.

Jump forward, there's a sporting event and everyone is gathered. One young woman is murdered as she's leaving by another. The killer gets away but is tracked to a dilapidated mansion out in the middle nowhere.

As we investigated the place, we realized there was a puzzle. And upon solving the puzzle, we found documentation of murders. Well over a hundred murders. Each one with different methods, different staging, no connection between victims.

it became apparent that this serial killer thought of murder as an art form. After further investigation, another puzzle is there in the mansion, and upon solving it we came to the realization that not only was this place a twisted art gallery, it was an invitation. The master was looking for an apprentice.

One of the investigators decides to go undercover to try to identify and take down the man behind it all and so joins the newest class of potential apprentices. They slowly become warped by the tutelage.

At that point I woke up. do whatever you like with this idea have fun y'all

Nightmare story:

In the far flung future where the Sun has the surface turned to a crisp, all that lives is underground in a solar punk utopia. The citizens are all animals, those that walked and crawled on all fours, after a self replicating technology gifted their ancestors and their children with intelligence. However, Science built this kingdom underground, but the magic of death maintains it. They call the process of death Foundation, and it's practitioners: Fundamentalists. Death isn't the end for these creatures, for when they touch the Foundation, they can speak with powers beyond them and pass that knowledge onto a Fundamentalist.

It's a slow process for the Foundation to become dissatisfied with Its as docile as dreams. Soon, the biotech that keeps these upright sons and daughters of nature from slaughter begin to fail. In a creature's last moments of speech before they're pulled into darkness, they all express the same wish; to hear the Songs of Fear to inspire the appetite for Blood and Flesh.

We follow an Otter with no name, living to the best of his ability under such circumstances. He drinks a potion from the last Fundamentalist Visitor, fights with his best friend to survive the area just below the surface, to obtain fortune and love, only to have it all ripped away in the wake of the Foundation.

The dream never progressed further from this point. How do you think it ends?

Drew the monster that haunted me in my dreams. Unfortunately, it doesn't capture the true scariness of her appearance. Also, she's supposed to look more feminine but I can't draw that well so this is the best I can do.

Maddie and Jack Fenton get a wake up call, and it's in the worst possible way.

Their son got caught up in a plot via a Supervillain, and he and a bunch of other teen heroes are trapped in a room slowly filling with water. The Supervillain is broadcasting the footage to the world, and just letting it play. Forcing heroes to watch their mentees die.

The teen heroes can't get out.

Until their own son, Danny, takes a deep breath and orders them all behind him. That he can do something. But they'll have to handle the rest.

Then, Danny screams.

The wall is blown clean off.

The teen heroes swoop in to drag him along, and they leave the room.

What the teens don't know, however, is that the cameras throughout the entire facility are recording and broadcasting as they come into view. Apparently, the Supervillain had accounted for this and wanted to broadcast them dying from other traps.

But the professional teen heroes are doing a great job clearing everything out.

Danny is...looking unwell.

Jack and Maddie are concerned. They didn't know he was a Meta, so he definitely didn't practice that power; had he pushed himself too hard?

Then the teen heroes notice and start asking.

Danny answers.

He's terrified of his parents finding out he's a Meta. He has a contingency to run away if they do. He says his parents are only focused on their inventions and hunting a certain group of interdimensional beings. That because of his abilities and Ecto-contamination, their weapons keep hurting him and they refuse to get rid of them, so he clearly knows what they value more.

That they might think he's possessed and harm him to "fix" him.

That he has nightmares about waking up on the operating table in their basement, cut open with his organs missing.

That whenever he sees his mother holding a knife or his father holding a gun, he has to fight the urge to run for safety.

And Jack and Maddie, being stared down by Black Canary and Green Arrow (who had been sent to comfort but are now bracing to protect their own son from them), feel like someone has carved out their own organs.

They have to be better.

TLDR: Danny almost gets got by a Supervillain plot meant for others teen heroes he was around as a civilian, he knows he's being recorded in the beginning and uses the Ghostly Wail to break the walls to escape, and kinda sorta trauma dumps on the teen heroes not knowing he's forcing his parents to watch and listen to him list all their failures in 4k.

can i just talk about this rlly traumatizing dream i had when i was around the ages 2-4

im surprised i remembered it. so, i was in a daycare and i heard children laughing from another room. it was pink. like a pastel pink, softie pink, cutecore pink, you know. excited to join the other kids, i took my shoes off and put it in the shoe holder thing youd find in a trampoline park or something. a few lights were out. i went into the room in front of me, the one to the left. also i was wearing those rlly cute socks that itched rlly bad hold on lemme find a picture

these fucking,,, ruffle socks. they itched so bad i hated them ong. but anyways, i ran to the room on my left (or. in front of me). whenever i entered the room, no one was in there. i go to the room that was on my right when i woke up in the daycare. there was nobody there. shit im crying now, but i always cry when i think of this dream. or, nightmare, if you will. when i entered that room, nobody was there. i was like 3 or so. i didnt know what to do. the hall that lead from room to room was short. there were no doors btw. the laughing sounded so far. i just wanted to join them. i was only 3 or so... at the time, i wasnt in kindergarten yet. in kindergarten, everyone ignored me when i spoke. im extremely extroverted sometimes, but other times im really introverted bc in kindergarten everyone ignored me. but ive been extroverted all my life and i wanted to talk to the other 2-4 year olds. and since i was ≈3, i didnt know what to do when no one was there. so i sat down. and cried. i cried. until i woke up. on the brown couch that still sits on the right side of my living room (if youre viewing it from the table). my brainless mind thought nothing of it. i dont even know anymore. it just doesnt feel real. its impossible. what was going through my mind? i hate remembering that dream. i hate remembering it so much. it hurts so fucking bad. it doesnt trigger that often. the only times it triggers is when i see a pastel pink daycare and when i start thinking of it. i dont know. it all just feels made up when i think of it...

please tell me this is normal...

ok this sounds insane but in 2018 i went to a few carnivorous plant talks at the botany conference in minnesota. i got caught up in conversation with one of the guys there who was a huge nepenthes guy who told me a story about another collector in the pacific northwest who'd been buying poached plants, like a huge amount, and eventually got staked out by the fish and wildlife service and arrested and had all his plants seized and went to prison for it. idk if i ever talked about this on this blog before-- i know i liveblogged a lot from that conference but cant remember what all i posted-- but ive avoided talking about it since then because i was never able to find like, news articles or anything covering it, but behold.... we now have proof it was real, and im like 80% sure this was this guy he was talking about. the raid happened in 2016 and they'd been staking them out since 2013. he had nearly 400 plants and had been sourcing many of them from poachers in indonesia and borneo.

remember folks: poaching happens with plants too! it's a huge problem not only in carnvirous plants (nepenthes especially, which this piece is dedicated to talking about) but also in native plant populations in the US, including native carnivorous plant populations (north and south carolina's venus fly traps, california's darlingtonia, and sarracenia from the east coast), native orchids (historically one of the most poached categories), desert plants/cacti/succulents, and slow-growing woody ornamentals (cycads, for example). never buy bare-root plants off ebay or facebook! your best bet is local nurseries (which usually purchase farm-raised plants that do well in a wide range of conditions, and as a result have a healthy population in the wild) or specialty greenhouses (more expensive, but at least in the case of carnivorous plants offer young plants bred from established adult plants in-house, raised in captivity).

4. A character you rarely talk about?

I don't think I've talked about Alto on here. This is a really important KM character - he could be called the main love interest - but I keep sort of quiet about him because frankly, he upsets me. He is a fascinating little geode full of spoilers.

Briefly - Alto was a ghost hunter & paranormal psychologist, along with his twin, Nero, before the Plot Thing hit. He's been studying the Plot Thing ever since, and is the leader of the group the main character joins up with. I realized at some point that I unconsciously modeled him, just a little, off early Griffith from Berserk; he's beautiful, disarming, charismatic, and has a powerful dream he's following that he will suck people into. And I mean, Alto is genuinely very kind and caring. And fun! He's got a lovely personality. But... even so. He is also - in the context of a story where everyone's got something specific wrong with them, directly related to the Plot Thing - critically wrong about what's wrong with him. I don't think I have a character who's wronger than Alto. He's great.

5. If you could make only one of your OCs popular/known, who would it be?

Oh that's hard... that's really hard. Most of mine belong to ensemble casts, which belong to self-contained stories, so everyone around a given OC would end up known. So I'll avoid that, because that's cheating. Popular, though... let's give that to Lily, Nightmare Story part II protagonist, trans witch nightmare-wrangling sad girl. She deserves it.

15. Do you like to talk about your OCs with other people?

[teakettle noise] I do!! It can be hard with the brain gremlins like, this cannot be as interesting to others as it is to me/I shouldn't talk so much about them until I manage to actually *do* something with them/etc., but I love them! & I like to share.

It's safe to say I've been screaming, crying, throwing up thinking about it alot

Next, MAMD has no puppet's

And AVPS has sorty and scarfy! (<3)

Now obviously... Starship, with an incredible amount of puppetry

And (in my opinion) starkids most incredible puppet to date, Pincer!

AVPSY does have a puppet! They have the basilisk puppet (technically scarfy and sorty again)
