I really wish I could change how I see myself and it’s so hard. Like I honestly believe in another life I was a horrible person so I’m being punished and I’m in this body and having all these bad experiences especially this year and this is my payback living a miserable life being ugly and alone and I wish I could say I was kidding

I’m no therapist but it sounds like you’re focusing a lot on what you don’t have when you should be focusing on what you have accomplished

Like I don’t have a record label or money or unproblematic favs or six cats or my own apartment or testosterone or a family that cares about my wants and needs or the love of my life

But I do have a few nice guitars, a decent understanding of chord progressions, problematic favs who are sometimes okay, one cat, a roof over my head and some nice things sometimes, green hair, friends who care about me, and a decent understanding of what I actually need in a relationship

Sometimes learning to care about yourself starts with learning to care about progress you’ve made. I haven’t made much process from high school to now, but I am in the process of making more progress and it’s been important to my healing and personal growth to recognize the progress I’m making

#my mom never says she’s proud of me #and actively talks shit about me to her friends and out extended family #but I know my dad is proud of me because he says so #I know my cat is proud of me #because she’s not as terrified I won’t come back when I leave the house #I’m not perfect and I still have insecurities #but it’s important to recognize that there’s more to existence than our failures #failure is just a lesson in disguise vestie #and talking bad about yourself doesn’t make anyone feel better #name three good things about yourself right now go #no takebacks #this is a challenge #harley answers
