when steve stood between tony and bucky saying “sorry tony but he’s my friend” and tony fires back with “so was i” as if he can compare. i have to laugh.
like sorry girl but the first time steve thought he lost/was gonna lose bucky he single-handedly infiltrated a huge hydra base miles behind enemy lines bearing nothing but his uso costume and a prop shield. repeat performances included crashing a plane into the arctic, taking on a hydra-infested shield with four allies to his name including some guy he met while running, becoming an international fugitive, fighting you and half his former teammates, leaving the other half on his side behind to get taken to the raft, and now this.
tony, the first time steve thought you were gonna die he told nat to close the portal behind you. if it had been bucky in your place you have to know steve would’ve found a way in after him by any means necessary. you are simply not on the same level.

Hi, I just wanted to make sure if you're okay? You used to post fics so regularly and now you're so quiet. I hope you're doing fine and are just busy with real life stuff?!
Hi, and thank you for checking in as well as your kind words. Same to the two lovely anons who sent me love. Thank you.
A very Happy Lucia to you and everyone who celebrates, or who could do with a bit more light in their life. (physical or metaphorical)
I'm sorry for being so quiet recently. I assure you I'll be back and that all my wips and outlines will be finished. (yes even Ghost!Erik, although I'm not making any promises as to when)
I'm as enthusiastic about YR and Wilmon as I was a year ago and I doubt that's going to change anytime soon. It's just that the holiday season has hit me harder than I hoped it would, and so my writing time has been mostly taken up by blankly staring at the screen and then being surprised when the alarm goes off an hour or two later.
It's the first time in eight years that I'm celebrating without my soulmate, and missing them and our two angels is especially hard right now.
I have a very active support network though and I know things will get better. Right now I'm just ... super lonely while at the same time being surrounded by too many people who mean a bit too well.
On a happier note I'm over 15k into the final chapter of Faroe Gone and still in Tórshavn, with only about 1k being stuff from the outline, so it's going to be a very, very long final chapter.
Also the next chapter of ALaWHEO has theoretically reached posting length about a month ago, but I really want them to actually get inside the palace and not just have a 4k car ride where nothing happens. So uh ... yeah.
Also, also I've been valiantly resisting the urge to write Kings Wilmon's first state visit to movie-rwrb's London snippets. It would be a good distraction, but also I'm not sure it would be any other levels of good. I haven't even finished reading the book.
Also, also, also my muse insists it'd have to be Phillip and James III's pov, and I suspect that'd top even The Getaway's level of self-indulgence, if that's even possible.
Anyway. Happy Lucia. I promise I'll be back, although no promise as to when. All the best! 💜🧡

Happy 97th Birthday to Peter Marshall! Peter worked with Lucy twice on television, once on 'The Lucy Show' (Lucy's Sister Pays A Visit) in 1963, and again in 1974 on 'Happy Anniversary And Goodbye'. He nearly turned down the role in the 1974 special because he had a very negative experience working on TLS a decade earlier, until he learned that most of his scenes would be played with Art Carney. Of his TLS appearance he complained that he was getting contradictory stage direction from all sides: the director, Lucy and even Vivian. In 'The Lucy Book' by Geoffrey Mark Fidelman, Peter remembers what it was like to work on 'Happy Anniversary And Goodbye'..."We were doing the first read through of the script, and Lucille Ball turns to Art Carney and says, "Have you ever done comedy before? Where did you get those line readings?" Carney quit right there and then. The next day, Nanette (Fabray) and I had lunch with Art and talked him out of it. Yet another day goes by, and now Nanette gets it from Lucy and she quits! It takes still another lunch to get them both to get back to work and finish the show. And yet, whatever Lucille Ball did, she was phenomenal." #lucilleball #vivianvance #petermarshall #hollywoodsquares #nanettefabray #artcarney #roughdayattheoffice #actors #happybirthday #nonagenarian #iquit #waynelvslcy #thelucyshow https://www.instagram.com/p/CqaluVTO6P8/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=

But one is a stranger, a woman she notices while she sits on a bench, gathering herself. It’s a type of woman she has never seen before, because there are no old women in Barbieland. When Barbie looks at her, she finds her beautiful and tells her so. The woman already knows. Suddenly Barbie, the fraught aspirational figure, has beheld someone she might aspire to be, and it is a radiantly content nonagenarian, reading a newspaper on a Los Angeles bench, who knows what she’s worth.
“The idea of a loving God who’s a mother, a grandmother — who looks at you and says, ‘Honey, you’re doing OK’ — is something I feel like I need and I wanted to give to other people,” Gerwig says. When it was suggested that this scene, which Gerwig calls a “transaction of grace,” might be cut for time, she remembers thinking: “If I cut that scene, I don’t know why I’m making this movie. If I don’t have that scene, I don’t know what it is or what I’ve done.”

Crossing Guard Comes Out Of Retirement At 95 To Help Kids
A 95-year-old South Carolina crossing guard is coming out of retirement to help the students. Estella Williams made headlines last year as the oldest serving school crossing guard in the state of South Carolina. The then 94-year-old had been helping to keep the students at Westside High School in Anderson safe for more than two decades and at the end of the year, she decided it was finally time to retire.
Well, that didn’t last long. As the beginning of the school year approached, Williams, now 95, got a call from the Anderson School District Five. They were in need of crossing guards, so the twice retired nonagenarian donned her hi-vis safety vest once again to help the students stay safe.
Williams can’t bear the thought of leaving the students without a crossing guard, wants to make sure they’re safe, and the job gives her something to do. “I feel good…I just love it,” she says. “I just don’t like to sit around, I like to stay busy.” And the students of Anderson, South Carolina, are lucky to have her.
