LU Star Wars AU: Part 3
Got a theme of noncanon characters for this one, this time we have Spirit and Warriors! (It doesn't feel right having a Star Wars AU without including Spirit)
PART 1 | PART 2
Tumblr media
Spirit
Spirit isn't actually related to Wind, but the two of them are so alike in appearance that many mistake them for twins. While Wind loves to pilot, Spirit's interest lies more in tinkering directly with the spacecraft itself. He personally works on Tetra's, Linebeck's, and Wind's ships, and ended up also working as a mechanic for the Alliance for a brief time before moving on.
Spirit has had his own adventures with Spectre (AKA his Zelda); he is one of the rare few people alive to venture into the chaotic Unknown Regions of the galaxy without a wayfinder or star compass and return to tell the tale. That adventure involved an encounter with a ghostlike being named Malladus.
Spirit is also especially in tune with the Force and spirits, just like Wind. He also has some skill with a blaster, and is extremely handy in space combat, but he has no interest in combat and would rather work on his personal projects and ship designs. His personal favorite is a prototype set of powered armor he designed for Spectre, but unfortunately it got wrecked in the encounter with Malladus.
Tumblr media
Warriors
Warriors is an active military captain in the Alliance. He is also a close friend of Artemis, who is a high ranking general and a current member of the Imperial Senate. Their home planet has widespread anti-Imperial sentiments and secretly hosts a base for the Alliance, and Artemis does her best to keep it hidden from Imperial eyes.
Warriors actually inherited his saber from his mother, a former Jedi Knight from the days of the Jedi Order, and was taught how to wield it by her before she passed. He grew up on stories of the old Order and is determined to uphold the legacy of being a Jedi Knight. Part of that is looking out for his men and protecting those who can't protect themselves, and protecting Artemis in her efforts with the Alliance.
He has a certain amount of pride in that legacy and the skills and stories he was taught. He quickly rose to the rank of Artemis's personal knight, and his achievements make him stand out among Alliance forces. It took a few particularly close calls with Imperial Forces to temper his pride.
One of those encounters involved a Sith Lord named Cia, whose attention he unwittingly caught. The only reason he escaped alive was due to someone named Lana, who he later learned was Cia's twin sister. Cia still has a one-sided obsession with Warriors in particular and is determined to hunt him down.
Warriors has also met plenty of people across the galaxy during his time with the Alliance; among these people were Wind and Spirit. Wind had a brief stint with Warriors as a pilot and Spirit ended up tagging along for the ride.

so glad I'm not alone in how i feel about fanon Link versus canon with botw/totk. i don't think it's wrong for people to write him how they experienced the games, but like. that's not his actual canon personality ya know? and sometimes meta posts kind of ignore that distinction and it's so frustrating. (i think you already know this but i feel the same way about other noncanon stuff like the warriors games and the manga, including the skyward sword oneshot in the hyrule historia)
Right?
I don't have a problem either with making light of the game mechanics and drawing silly comics or writing funny scenarios; everyone has a right to do whatever the fuck they want.
But I can't help but feel a little... irritated when they portray BOTW/TOTK! Link to the other Links as this feral little gremlin who wants to cause mass destruction in nothing but his undergarments in comparison to the OTHER Links.
They act as if the other Links are more noble and honorable than him, the child who took up the sword even though it meant that he would no longer be seen as human but a war god in his people's eyes, the child who died a mortal all the same in his last stand against a beast of metal designed to protect him and his princess, the child who was given a chance at life AGAIN and still ran headfirst into danger for friends he could barely remember, because that is who Link truly is.
He was disabled at the start of BOTW due to the guardian attack and had to learn how to fight again; even then, unless you were an experienced player hell bent on fighting like lore-accurate Link, he never could surmount to the abilities he had pre-Calamity. That was something huge he ultimately came to terms with.
And then he becomes disabled AGAIN from the malice attack, losing an entire part of himself (physically and mentally) and has to learn how to fight with a stranger's arm that has been surgically attached to him without his consent. But he doesn't let that deter him. Doesn't let himself give up. He doesn't cry, "why me?" or get extra agitated in the dialogue with other NPCs (cough cough looking at you Skyward Sword Link). He gets up, and understands that there are people that need his help, and he's going to help them, regardless of what may come.
Also, he can literally see dragons, creatures that are deemed mythical in HIS world. That's not even the crazy part; the games confirm that typically children see dragons due to their pure hearts. If that doesn't speak volumes about Link's true character, I don't know what does.

Round 2 Poll 12: Purah from legend of Zelda vs Harrowhark Nonagesimus from the locked tomb
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Entry propaganda:
Purah
Fellas is it mad science to throw the chosen hero into the air so he can just get an okay view of the land
I just think she's neat (and gay) (Btw she's also in Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity as a teenager, and in Breath of the Wild as a child (experiment gone wrong, she's over 100 and was trying to make herself younger). In Tears of the Kingdom she's an adult again, so that would probably be the best game to get art from, if she gets in, as aoc is a noncanon game)
Look, I have no evidence she's a lesbian or not but she's the 'recent hot mad scientist' in my current media orbit and I know lots of people including several queer women thisting over her new design so I thought I'd throw her hat in the ring -- or her big clunky lab goggles as it were 🤷
Harrowhark Nonagesimus
Did you ever love a girl so much you lobotomized yourself of all memory of her?
Almost killed herself with the intensity of her studies. Multiple times.
canon lesbian and a prodigy necromancer. once gave herself a lobotomy.
Lesbian necromancer in space sciences real good

Hello!! I hope you're having a good day :) I just have a couple questions about things since these are very new systems to me! Firstly, would you be able to share any more details about being assigned an age range based on experience? Mostly I'm curious on what the age ranges are / mean (for example, are senior characters retirees or are they just older warriors?) I'm also wondering if there's any flexibility with that - for example two characters that would fit great as littermates but one person was assigned the warrior age range and one was assigned senior...! I know you said these are large ranges but I'd love to know more about them, almost every rp I've been in before involved making characters prior to joining the server so I'm super curious.
Also, this might be looking way too far into the future haha, but how do kits functioning as adopts work in the event that someone isn't able to remain in the server? Like, would people be able to keep the designs they're given or are they only to be used in the server since they have traits based on their parents. And would their be an option for former members to let their characters be adopted by new members or members without characters if they don't see their story ending just yet?
Apologies for the wall of text!! I'm super curious about these systems especially since it seems like you've put a lot of thought into them! Excited to see where this rp goes :)
Hi there! I am, and I hope you are too!!
First, age ranges:
Youngans are cats between 2 and 18 months of age. (this covers summitclan's equivalent to kittens and apprentices)
Warriors are between 18 months and 6 years of age.
Seniors are between 6 and 12 years of age. (for now, 12 is as old as you can make your character!)
Regarding the littermates question, I think we were on the same wavelength because I spent an entire Target trip obsessively thinking about this hoping someone would ask about it. AND THEN THIS HAPPENED!
The age ranges given to players are loose - if two cats in side-by-side age ranges (youngan/warrior or warrior/senior) are compatible as littermates, you can totally doink down or up a peg to unite them. But youngans & seniors can't swap for each other! And if the age you made your character needs to be adjusted for that to happen, just let me know so I'm aware of the change! (and as a reminder, everything is open for editing until the character's first post!)
Seniors are defined as cats that are old enough to be  considered wise and experienced; this can be a perception ranging from a well loved uncle/teacher to the village grandmother. They aren't really considered retirees until 9 years, but if they're doing the Creme Puff thing they don't always have to. Between 6 and 9, they're mostly looked to as secondary mentors, pools of field-wisdom and folks to come to when you need advice.
Life in the mountain is as full of love as it is brutally hard at times, and by 9 years cats are pretty worn down. But they spend their golden seasons being celebrated and served by the younger cats, and advising those they are surrounded by.
And hey, looking into the future makes the now more secure! I love far-flung questions! I actually answered a similar question just now, but repetition is key --
As long as a cat is active in Summitclan's canon, they need to have their canon design in depictions considered canon. But once they die or leave permanently? It's free real estate. Do what you like, change whatever! Or you can keep everything the same and mould them to the roleplay they join next. They're your kitty!
... But something I didn't mention in the last one (see why I encourage repetition? Even I need it!) is that if you're doodling something noncanon you can be as bonkers as you like. This is how I was sketching Arrowseeker for one of the ads:
Tumblr media
About adopting characters... that's difficult to say, because anyone that knows the character particularly well would already have characters of their own. Anyone without a character would be a newcomer and not know them very well.
But I don't want to give that answer prematurely. I'm going to wait until it happens, and discuss it with the people involved!
NO PROBLEM on walls of text!! I love talking about Summitclan and what it entails! I love that people are interested, it makes my heart full of happy!!!

ok so I have NO idea when sksw's part of hw happens. like. I know this is a noncanonical game, it's not trying to be accurate.
(but! this will not stop me from theorizing about when it happens, and most of this is probably rendered useless by whatever bullshit the ending pulls off to not have the universe explode from Too Much Time Shenanigans)
so, we already know this is before the events of sksw, as evidenced by the goddess blade. impa and zelda's crystal are nowhere in sight, so this is shortly after Demise’s imprisonment (however, there doesn't seem to be any sign of war other than the keeps, which i will explain momentarily)
there is a gate of time, presumably the one from the temple of time in lanayru, as the one link summons with the goddess harp is unfinished. why or how it was moved? I don't care, we're not here to discuss trade routes pre-Demise.
the obvious, more war-like design of the temple. I doubt hylia carried demise's limp body to the temple (or carry it very far, at least), nor would he go along willingly, so the obvious answer is that it was either a fortress changed into a temple, or a temple changed into a fortress (im going for fortress to temple). this happens soon after the war, as changes are not complete, and it's not in ruins yet.
the imprisoned has the flying ability only seen in its third fight, so it could be a) strengthened by a deliberate breaking of the seal by ghirahim b) stronger from recent imprisonment/a weaker seal since zelda isn't there yet or c) a game mechanic
in conclusion: this is directly after, or very close to, Demise’s sealing. or just, yknow, inaccurate.
(oh also the groosenator is there. we're just going to ignore that one.)
this has been an unnecessary (and probably wrong, given i havent finished the game) analysis of the sealed temple in hyrule warriors, brought to by someone who cares too much about skyward sword. I wrote this somewhat quickly as well, so if you actually read it and couldn't understand me, apologies

"You're obsessed with Clan loyalty. If you could see beyond your nose, you'd realize...there's a lot more to life than what we've got in one little Clan. Graystripe is a great and worthy warrior. If the warrior code can't deal with this...then maybe the warrior code needs to change. I know you're worried because you love me. And I love you too. I'll always be your daughter. But you have to let me choose my own future." -Silverstream to Crookedstar
shes definitely grown on me since i first read the books <3
Bonus: wanted to see what she looked like with her canonical black stripes, i dont know how to feel about it lol

Hi hi! I’m Cloverspring (or just Clover), and I’m the lone mod of this blog! My pronouns are she/they and I’m a minor.
This blog is here to help you with your warriors ocs! Whether you need help with names, designs, Clans, roles, or personalities, I’ll do my best to help you out! What I can do for y’all will be below the cut so this isn’t too long of a post ^^
I’d appreciate it if you could spread this around so this blog can reach people who may need it!
Names are honestly the thing I’m most excited to help out with! If you give me a cat’s description, personality, or just a prefix/suffix you have for them, I’ll do my best to give you some name ideas! I only pull canon prefixes and suffixes, though I’d be glad to work with noncanon ones if you supply them.
Designs are also one of my favorites to help out on. For this, if you give me a character’s name and/or Clan, I’ll let you know what I think they’d look like! I may also add a small doodle or two for inspiration.
Clans are also a fun one to help with! If you tell me a bit about a cat, I’d be happy to help you figure out what Clan they fit best in! This also applies to FanClans, if you give a little bit of info about the Clans you have for me to work with.
Roles are similar to Clans - if you’re struggling to decide if your cat should be a warrior, apprentice, medic, medic apprentice, elder, queen, deputy, etc. I’d be happy to help! All I’d need is a bit of info about the cat and if your Clan has any original roles or occupied roles and I’ll tell you what role I think would fit them best!
Personalities are probably the hardest for me, but I’ll still do my best to help! If you give me a cat’s name, I’ll tell you what kind of cat I think they’d be!

Despite it being one of my favorite franchises of all time, I tend to agree with posts that call out The Legend of Zelda with some problematic storytelling decisions (such as how it depicts women of color in many games. Even so, this one post irked me because of how blatantly WRONG it was.
Can’t be bothered to go look for it right now, but that “NINTENDO IS A COWARD FOR MAKING IMPA LESS MUSCULAR!” post going around bugs me for two reasons, one petty and the other slightly more important.
1) First, the petty one. The post uses a picture of the noncanon Warrios Impa who was designed by a Third Party (and admitted Fans of the series), and was not directly designed by Nintendo demselves.
This is a small detail, but it does have to do with point number two.
2) The post uses, in this order, a picture of the muscular bodyguard Impa from OOT, then the Impa from Warriors that Nintendo DIDN’T design, and then the new version of Impa from the Age of Calamity trailers.
This tells the narrative that Impa was originally a muscular character of whom Nintendo has slowly been slimming and aging down until she becomes a traditionally attractive character. This is NOT true.
Ever since the first game Impa has been one of the series most varies character designs, and she’s played MANY roles. Her most common role, despite what the post would want you to believe, has generally been as an Old Lady, but even then her role has always been varied.
This is all of the canon Impa’s in order. Spoilers for The Legend of Zelda (Original), Zelda 2, Ocarina of Time, Oracle of Seasons, Oracle of Ages, Twilight Princess, Skyward Sword (ESPECIALLY SPOILERS FOR SKYWARD SWORD!!!), A Link Between Worlds, and Breath of the Wild
(I apologize for the random sizes of each image, I really rushed this)
Tumblr media
(To be honest, this was the only one I didn’t know about before researching for this post)
The original Impa was an old lady that told Link to find the triforce in The Legend of Zelda original game, and then in the sequel she’s the one who tells him to fight to awaken the sleeping Zelda. As you can see she was an old lady in her first appearance.
Tumblr media
Ocarina of Time is the first instance of Bodyguard Impa. She’s naturally muscular as, like I said, she’s Zelda’s bodyguard, defender, and caretaker. This makes sense.
Tumblr media
Bonus, here she is in Wind Waker. Good to know that even years later they never forgot her enormous arms and traps
Tumblr media
Here she is in the Oracle games, still a servant and advisor figure for Zelda. Even more muscular, but also bigger in general (This is tied with another Impa as my second favorite design of hers btw.)
Tumblr media
Twilight Princess gave us Impaz, a more withered and passive version of Impa who has the least active role in a Zelda story so far
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Skyward Sword gave us two versions of Impa, young and old. She plays the role of both the bodyguard and old guide, but differently than how she as in Ocarina of Time. This Impa is skinnier, far skinnier than the one in the new Calamity trailer I might add! But she has a more Battle-Mage look to her. As you can see, even though she plays similar roles, they are still unique designs that differ greatly from her previous counterparts. (This Impa design is tied with Oracle of Seasons/Ages Impa as my second favorite)
Tumblr media
In a Link Between Worlds she is once again an elderly woman, this time a mentor of sorts for Zelda (seeing as this time Zelda is only 15 and yet a ruler of an entire kingdom???)
Tumblr media
And, of course, my favorite Impa, Old Lady Impa from Breath of the Wild. There’s something uniquely grand about this design despite being so petite. Something that demands respect and yet she looks so kind. (Also, if you hit her, she will dodge you and call you a fool, which I respect).
Impa has NOT been slowly drained of muscles, like some kind of Mexican luchador balloon with a hole pricked into it. She has been a wildly evolving character with a dozen different roles. So what if the prequel game is giving us a younger teenage Impa? I’m excited for what they’ll do next with this wild, very absurdly utilizable character.
