Anyway here's my breakdown of the ffxiv jobs, my opinions on playing each, and the tier rank of how good their story was
TANKS
WARRIOR - warrior is so fucking funny why did they make it able to solo heal itself and the entire party in 90% of the content in the game. Raw Intuition/Bloodwhetting is so broken in dungeons its hilarious. And then they have like 3 additional healing skills on top of that. And they kept buffing it throughout Endwalker. So it is currently the easiest to play, does the most damage (i think...?), and has the best healing of any of the Tank jobs. 2nd fave probably.
Story Tier: C, it's ok, Curious Gorge is a good name. i have like nothing to say about it it's a generic AF story
PALADIN - I used to hate PLD but I think the partial rework they got halfway through Endwalker helped it a lot. It's much less clunky now. Probably still my least favorite Tank though Hallowed Ground is fun and it's pretty close to Gunbreaker for me.
Story Tier: F, this is the worst class storyline in the entire game. It's so stupid. The writing is so bad the writers acknowledge it makes no sense at all and I'm like. Yeah, thanks, I am experiencing this shit. Perhaps write a story that makes sense next time instead of pointing that out.
DARK KNIGHT - Unfortunately this is my favorite Tank 🫡 which is rough since it has the worst survivability out of any of them. But I love how you use MP and the silly number of OGCDs. The Blackest Night is such a fun ability and it's a crime that it's not a baseline skill you get from the start. Why do they have so many DRs that only cover magic damage. I must ask.
Story Tier: S, there's a reason it's the most popular and well regarded class storyline. It's really good, also the only questline I know of that uses the quest log text as part of the narrative. Outside maybe a few of the very late Endwalker quests. And, well... same writer lmao
GUNBREAKER: I think GNB looks cool as fuck and I like that it has 2 DPS rotations. The Gnashing Fang combo is so fun. Superbolide memes are always fun. My main issue with it is a skill issue because I am just constantly misaligning its burst windows.
Story Tier: C. It has some interesting lore but I found it pretty forgettable as a story.
HEALERS
WHITE MAGE: I hated White Mage for a while but something clicked and now I totally get it. I find it fun in dungeons cause you get to Holy spam and stun lock everything. As uh. The healer. That's fun. Once you get Afflatus heals (and then Afflatus Misery) it clicks. It's fun maximizing damage and playing chicken with the tank's HP.
Story Tier: B, you get a lot of lore around the Padjal, and I think the Stormblood story where you find a padjal living in hiding with her mother is pretty good! Also it's not technically the job storyline but there's a WHM side quest to get a unicorn mount? i guess it's technically a CNJ quest but same diff. no one else gets that shit. so that's cool
SCHOLAR: probably my least favorite of the healers... it just feels super clunky. You can tell a bunch of different design philosophies went into it over the years and none of them mesh very well. They've made it so the Fairy Gauge controls literally one spell. Why have the gauge at all? It's also a huge missed opportunity that there's no tie in or interaction with the fae in Shadowbringers. I love the idea of a battle tactician healer but I think it needs a rework.
Story Tier: B+, I liked the characters and its the main way to get backstory and lore on what happened with Nym.
ASTROLOGIAN: While I think AST has a similar issue to SCH (lots of different design philosophies over the years) I find it way more fun to play. I like the card mechanic and how it interacts with the rest of the party. AST is basically the only job that has its own like. Minigame? As part of its rotation. And I know a lot of people don't like the RNG for it but personally I find it fun. I know AST is getting a redesign in Dawntrail so hope it's good.
Story Tier: C? I think? I'll be honest I don't remember it super well but I didn't find anything objectionable about it. And I like the tarot aesthetic and lore and how it's healing based on manipulating luck.
SAGE: I think SGE is tons of fun, I'm not sure if I like it or WHM more. I love all the skills SGE has for preventing damage and the gimmick where your DPS heals someone in the party. Visually the hi-tech laser shooting healer is a lot of fun. IT HAS A GAP CLOSER. The only thing i wish was it wasn't so MP negative and that it did more damage. It's a little sad its DPS output is so low compared to the other healers (even AST when you factor in how it buffs the party). Since SGE is supposed to be a healer that heals through damage it's silly its damage kinda sucks.
Story Tier: A, I loved this storyline. Both the Endwalker job stories are very self contained and interesting. While the twist is pretty obvious it's still an interesting exploration of uh. Scientific ethics. Yeah
PHYSICAL MELEE DPS
MONK: I've probably played MNK the least of the phys melee but I like the whole adaptable combo thing. Not much else to say since I have played it so little. Might bring it back out and try again. It DID have the funniest guide in the Balance discord for a while.
Story Tier: D. I think? I remember thinking it was dumb, lmao. Sorry.
DRAGOON: MAN I wished I liked DRG more. It looks so fucking cool and I like how it interacts with the dragon lore. But I find it very punishing to play. To do good damage you have to align so many different cooldowns... and snapshot your DOT correctly... and screwing one thing up just fucks your DPS output forever. Like AST I believe this is being reworked in Dawntrail so I hope it feels better to play.
Story Tier: C+. I think it starts strong since you get to meet Estinien pre-Heavensward and it melds nicely with that story. But I found it pretty directionless post-HW which is a shame.
NINJA: I remember finding this one fun. I like that there are different combos you do that have varied finishers depending on the situation. I am just... bad at remembering which combo to use to get which finisher, lol. So I haven't played it as much. NIN gets a lot of flavor other jobs don't get with their unique run and jump animations. And you get a Bunny of Shame on your head if you fuck up a combo, which is incredible.
Story Tier: A. The Rogue story is probably the most memorable of the basic class quests. Ninja just has great characters and a fun story. What is with that one guy. Karasu? If you know you know. I also like how the Rogue characters show up later in the Ninja story. That's fun.
SAMURAI: I had a similar experience to WHM here because I initially hated it then really came around once it clicked. SAM seems very complex, it has a ton of buttons and different combos. But it is actually quite intuitive once you figure out the general pattern. And it does INSANE damage. I think it's the highest DPS output in the game? I love building the combos and then doing a huge finisher for a bajillion damage. The guaranteed crits and constant OGCD weaves make me feel unstoppable. I think this is tied with RPR for me.
Story Tier: B+. I found the exiled samurai character and his journey toward redemption very compelling. I won't spoil beyond that. However it does fall apart a little in the second half. Still fun but not as good.
REAPER: I love RPR, the teleportation is a lot of fun, and I love finally unleashing the demon form and going ham on the enemy. The weapons are the coolest looking in the game. Every scythe design hits. I probably played this the most in Endwalker. My main critique is the Death's Design mechanic. I hate having to keep a stupid debuff on the target to do damage. It's like a dot but without the optimized snapshotting. If they want to keep this idea i think it would feel better to change it into something like SGE's Kardia where you apply it to one enemy to do increased damage to it without having to worry about reapplying it. not sure how they would balance this for aoe but that's not my job. But even with that caveat I still really enjoy the job.
Story Tier: A+. While it doesn't reach the highs of DRK's story it comes close. I love the badass old lady main character. Her hunting a voidsent that possessed her grandfather would be cool enough but making her a Garlean exile in hiding who grudgingly agrees to train you just adds an extra cool factor. I really enjoyed this story. As a bonus theres a lot of incidental dialogue in the post-6.0 Endwalker story if you completed the RPR story because it ties in a lot.
PHYSICAL RANGED DPS
BARD: It's a bit clunky, its got some outdated design elements, it has one of the lowest damage outputs in the game... and i LOVE IT. this was technically the first job I ever played? totally different character like 8 years ago. and i was so so bad. I think i am actually pretty good at current BRD. the animations look cool. i like that it's a class you really need to work for and optimize to eke out that last bit of damage. and boosting everyone else's damage by existing is kinda neat.
Story Tier: B. I'll be real I barely remember this but I do remember it was gay as fuck so immediately gets an extra tier for that.
MACHINIST: MCH is really funny right now because like. It's phys ranged, right. The design behind phys ranged is you have 100% uptime cause you can freely move around and not have to worry about cast timers or melee range or anything. So the trade off is that they do less damage than other classes. Endwalker MCH did not get the memo and does insane damage anyway. My controversial opinion is that it has similar burst DPS to RPR. No i will not elaborate. I'm also bad at doing good damage on MCH which is impressive since it is easy.
Story Tier: B+. Some Ishgard noble's gay son wants to build machines instead of killing dragons the good old fashioned way and has to prove himself to get taken seriously. A tale as old as time. See I haven't done this quest in like years but I still remember it. He is a memorable character. It's just not like. knockout wowza compared to the A tier stories.
DANCER: Dancer is the second easiest DPS job in the game behind SMN. So if i am sleepy it's the one I like playing. You play simon says. you do a lot of damage when you play simon says then do almost no fucking damage otherwise. I think it's the lowest direct damage in the game? for a dps i mean. You have high stakes sexual tension with a DPS of your choice via Dance Partner. I wish other DNC players knew how Dance Partner works. YOU CAN DANCE PARTNER ANOTHER DANCER. THE BUFF STACKS. BUT YOU CANNOT DANCE PARTNER THE SAME PLAYER AS ANOTHER DANCER. THOSE BUFFS DO NOT STACK. ok i'm good. anyway
Story Tier: C. there's some shit about negative emotions and purging them? in theory i think this has some interesting implications with Endwalker lore considering Dynamis and its role in the story. Very similar mechanically to what's going on with the DNC story. but i really don't think the writers made the connection so it's like pure speculation and not the actual story. It's meh. fine i guess. i did like all the flashy dancing sequences.
MAGICAL RANGED DPS
BLACK MAGE: I am so so so so so so so bad at BLM. i pull up the guide. i read the guide. it all makes perfect sense. i go into a dungeon or trial or something. somehow i always get like Zeromus or some shit. and i drop Enochian or something and everything goes to shit and i'm yelling and i'm not even like slide casting or teleporting or anything i just run around crying. then i remember i have like 10 more buttons i haven't been pressing and oh god the dot fell off. people play this? for fun? i admire it. apparently they do a ton of damage if you can play it. could not be me.
Story Tier: B? There's some voidsent and Thirteenth lore. all the black mage characters are Lalafell because it's funny i guess. OH YEAH it has like the one named male Keeper of the Moon Miqo'te NPC in the entire game and he's fun. look at this twink:
Tumblr media
sorry i don't have anything to say about BLM i am bad at it
SUMMONER: easiest DPS job in the entire game. they redesigned it for Endwalker so it is practically a new job. i have no idea how it played before. but it is super streamlined. maybe too streamlined? it's another one to play if you want to turn your brain off. i like that at 90 you summon The Actual Primals instead of little representations of them. and i like the way your burst phase switches between Bahamut and Phoenix. it all looks very cool. they should add Leviathan as a summon in Dawntrail.
Story Tier: C.. i don't remember a single thing about this questline except you interact with Y'shtola's half sister. i think you go to Cartenau at some point. idk
RED MAGE: RDM is one of those jobs that looks really complicated when you start then you actually play it and it is just super super easy. that being said i think it's really fun. I like balancing the white and black magic gauges. Dualcast is a great gimmick and it feels cool to lob two big spells in a row at something. Dualcast Verraising a chain of dead players is so fucking funny. it's a shame that the existence of Verraise means RDM does shit damage to compensate for its utility. It and DNC just sit at the bottom with BRD barely scratching ahead of them. i think? i don't remember LOL
Story Tier: A, I really like the story and characters. I like that you have a middle-age world weary catboy (catman) as your mentor. and i like that he canonically trained Alisaie too and you chat a little about that. it's a fun story!
BLUE MAGE: what the fuck is a blue mage
Story Tier: ???

Nymrod is currently going through a bit of a rewrite and revisions / retcons to his backstory, but you can read and find more about him here because it is still mostly relevant;

We don't bodyshame in this house. (Haarlep is not invited.)
Simple: I'M GAY. ''Haha bottom'' or jokes regarding someone's incompetence in bed just does not strike me as good humor in a game that prides itself on being queer/sexuality friendly. It's also- If Raph was a woman this joke wouldn't even exist.. It's used in a misandrist, homophobic context everytime I see hate for this character. You should know incubus means ''to lie on top'' pretty much right? Haarlep is just being a jerk about it in one throw-away line... Raphael has ego, but so does Haarlep.
You can literally fuck a mind flayer in this game... But ppl wanna romance the half devil and people lose their minds over something an npc says about another character. Let people be gay. When I was in highschool, gay and bottom were insults. This attitude is homophobic. Stop using it as a ''joke''.
BG3 is an amazing game, it's not perfect- some of the writing in act 3 is pretty flawed in comparison to act 1 and 2.

Hey! Do you have any thoughts on the Alleras - Sarella theory or what that might mean for the story going forward? I recently came across the theory and it looks very mysterious with the whole “the Sphinx is the riddle, not the riddler” quote but I am not sure how it will play out. Obviously, if Sarella is Alleras, she might have a big hand in the Dorne- Aegon plot, but in what way? But if not, what could be Alleras’s story? Because he is clearly mysterious and knowledgeable and has more story to be in.
Hi there!!
I think it's a pretty foregone conclusion that Alleras is Sarella. <3
There otherwise no accounting for the fourth elder Sand Snake when the presence of Obara, Nymeria and Tyene is so emphasized in AFFC, while their absent sister is described solely through these lines:
"As my prince commands." His heart was troubled. My little princess will mislike this. "What of Sarella? She is a woman grown, almost twenty." "Unless she returns to Dorne, there's naught I can do about Sarella save pray that she shows more sense than her sisters. Leave her to her . . . game. Gather up the others. I shall not sleep until I know that they are safe and under guard." (AFFC, The Captain of Guards)
"My uncle brought me here, with Tyene and Sarella." The memory made Arianne smile. "He caught some vipers and showed Tyene the safest way to milk them for their venom. Sarella turned over rocks, brushed sand off the mosaics, and wanted to know everything there was to know about the people who had lived here." (AFFC, The Queenmaker)
Nym would sometimes join them in their sport, and Sarella was forever pushing in where she didn't belong, but for the most part they had been a company of five.  (The Princess in the Tower)
Inquisitive, determined, bold Sarella, who is busy at "games" and...
Nym laughed. "Yes, she wants to set the torch to Oldtown. She hates that city as much as our little sister loves it." (AFFC, The Captain of Guards)
Nymeria is not describing Tyene who has no stated connection to Oldtown, so... that leaves the widow-peaked, slender "riddle", who describes themselves as "no lord's son" whose "mother was a trader".
Not to mention, she would be following in Oberyn's footsteps, who also forged links at the Citadel.
(That said, the riddle of this sphinx is so easy to solve that it mostly points to the presence of a similar, different riddle in the books. The Sphinx being the creature who posed a riddle to Oedipus, a prince who did not know his true parentage, killed his father and married his mother. Something that metaphorically works with Jon and his paternal and maternal Houses.)
I suspect GRRM has several aims with Sarella. He's managed to give her connecting points to almost every single plotline outside the Riverlands. She could be relevant almost anywhere.
But since GRRM made her the key insider that Samwell can trust at the Citadel (and immediately removed Marwyn from the premises after rounding out the Targ Prophecy Exposition), she is likely going to be the westermost point of an axis of information, connection and travel for our little politician Samwell in the South. From the archival riches of Oldtown (and the Ironborn threat) to his home in the Reach, to the way Dorne and Aegon's reconquest interact with it, to Jon's probable interaction with the South in the name of the North, which is where that riddle will come in handy.
Sarella and Obara are the Sand Snakes more likely to survive, since they don't openly advocate for the murder of children and have emotionally significant maternal backstories, and both connect to Oldtown in contrasting ways. I expect there to be some kind of arc of healing on Obara's end, which may or may not end up connecting to Sarella's political/diplomatic potential in the larger picture of the humanitarian crisis shaping up in Westeros.
(If my sentences are unintelligibly long, please forgive me. I am Very Sleepy today.)

Was the Olyvar concept / storyline something that you had planned from the beginning when you started the Weirwood Queen, or was it an idea that you came up with right around when he was introduced to the story? I've never been so invested in what is for the most part an original character before!
Oooh, fun question!
So, when I initially got the idea of Sansa yeeting Joffrey, there were a few other elements I knew I wanted to do. I wanted to have Sansa somehow become a queen, but I also wanted to save Robb and give Catelyn a badass death. Problem is, with Robb around, Sansa can't be QITN, and besides, there's already tons of great QITN stories.
Well, that meant Sansa needed a king for a husband. Joffrey and Tommen were obviously out, as were Renly and Stannis, because hell no. I still veer back and forth on whether Young Griff is legit or not, and I didn't want to use him either way, partially because I didn't want to give Varys and Illyrio a win for their convoluted, inexplicable scheming.
Which then led me to the notion of Elia and her kids surviving. Because 1) fuck Tywin, and 2) because while their horrific, tragic deaths work on a ton of levels to set up the backstory of AGOT, the fact that we learn very little about Elia has always annoyed me. Elia mostly exists to be a passive figure, a sickly, kind object upon whom others act. First she is beloved by her brothers, then impregnated before being scorned by Rhaegar, then raped and murdered at Tywin's command. Oberyn could have talked about her more in ASOS, or Doran or Arianne in AFFC, or Young Griff in ADWD; instead GRRM leaves her as vaguely defined martyr.
The notion of Elia having the agency to save herself and her kids was very compelling to me. But how/why could she do that? From there I got the idea of Sansa warning Elia via weirwood, so there is this fascinating interplay where Sansa saves Olyvar before he is even born, and then he saves her (not knowing the debt he owes her) during the trial by combat.
As for timing, I'm not sure if I figured Aegon/Olyvar out before I began or at some point after the first few chapters? I do know it was before chapter 28, because that's where I drop the first hint of his coming in Sansa's vision:
A knight with black hair knelt before Sansa in the yard of the Red Keep, his leathers bloody, his sword at her feet, smallfolk cheering, lords and ladies staring in shock.
Doing a twist on the Mountain v. the Viper was irresistible as a character introduction for Olyvar, only he doesn't volunteer because of revenge like Oberyn, he volunteers because he's a good kid and *this is not justice.* And he doesn’t swagger in and win easily, because that’s obnoxious and unearned. Nope, Olyvar is cautiously barely holding his own, then losing, until Sansa accidentally intervenes via birds, and Nym also helps save his ass by making him put extra knives in his boots.

𝙈𝙚𝙚𝙩 𝙢𝙮 𝙩𝙖𝙫/𝙙𝙣𝙙 𝙘𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙖𝙘𝙩𝙚𝙧~
「 ✦ 𝙉𝙮𝙢𝙡𝙮𝙣𝙣 𝙍𝙖𝙫𝙚𝙣𝙨𝙪𝙣 ✦ 」
Nymlynn is a human born Tiefling who was born in Luskan to a prostitute. Now since every good character needs a tragic backstory she was obviously unwanted and neglected. But in the alleys of her dirty home she knew where she wanted to be. Somewhere fresh and full of life…a dandelion growing in the cracks of cement. so her Druidism was born. With a natural talent for nature magic she got into all kinds of shenanigans. Whether she wanted to or not. She was a soft soul, prey to most. Naivety in her eyes and only true good in her heart, Luskan was no place for a small child like Nym. Physically assaulted and scarred, she ran away at 14. Living her life on the road, where she soon met another Tiefling man. The first Tiefling she had met besides herself. He turned into a brother for her. Maverick and Nym, a Druid and a fighter. But when things went to hell and her party fell apart Maverick got into hot waters. Running away to protect her, his wife, and his unborn child. Now Nymlynn, a fresh faced legal adult adventured out, chasing after her long lost brother. Not willing to be abandoned again. She chased him all the way to Baldurs Gate.
pity mindflayers had different plans for her.
(Bro she is so sweet, I wish Astarion liked her but nope, Wyll did. Not complaining 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻💦💦💦)

Alright, I want to post about my BG3 characters, because I love them and I haven't yet other than to my family and they think I'm ridiculous. 😂
Tumblr media
My first Tav, Dru. She's a Seladrine Drow Sorcerer. I played her in co-op with my husband in our first playthrough. I also replayed with her in a solo run. She wound up with Halsin in the end (partially because I managed to lock myself out of all other romances 😂). But I did end up liking them together a lot.☺️
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next is my Rouge Half Elf Ella. She has the most fleshed out backstory of any of my characters. She's also the only one I consider actually Baldurian. She's romancing Gale and just adores him, and definitely does not want him to take the Crown. I'm most of the way through Act 3 with her.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Next is my Teifling Bard Nym. She mostly plays the Lyre, no real romance yet (still in late Act 1) but she has slept with Astarion. She's a bit of a chaos goblin.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
And finally my Durge Amelia. She is a high elf sorcerer. I spent some time thinking about what I do know about Durge in planning her class/race combo. I literally just made her last night and so far she has been mostly good, but she did headbutt Astarion, which I hadn't done before and thought it was funny. 😂
My husband thinks I'm mildly ridiculous for having 3 playthroughs going at once, but they're such different characters so sometimes I want to play one or the other. But he doesn't typically replay games while I do. I was really surprised when he actually did start a second Durge playthrough, but I think I've played my Durge that I just made last night more than he's played the one he made months ago so. 🤷🏻‍♀️😂
Those are my girls and I love them.

nymeve! based on fire ants!
she actually knew halesia when they were both younger, but both parted ways and haven't seen each other for many years. nym has since integrated herself into noble society under a pseudonym and a carefully constructed backstory that is always just a breath away from going up in flames. She'd thought that her noble lady con would allow her greater resources to find her sister with, but no such luck....(yet!)

Podcast Girls Week (belated) day one - favorite episode episode that made you cry
In a day late - I thought I would have time yesterday but I did not! I'm also breaking the rules creatively interpreting Monday's optional prompt, because I knew I'd never in a million years be able to come up with a favorite episode (even per show, tbh). The alternative criteria that immediately popped into my head was "episode that made you cry" - I don't cry at fiction often but one podcast episode series of episodes has caused the waterworks, which makes it an easy choice for a category.
Nym's Nebulous Notions is a self-contained, one-season science fiction podcast of short episodes following Nym as she explores the source of a mysterious signal in space. It's a mix of humor, mild suspense, and tragedy both realistic and science fictional, with a tragic but hopeful ending about the power of connection.
After going back to find the episode number, it turns out I'm also breaking my own made-up criteria because it wasn't one episode, it was a sequence of episodes (in my defense, they're short, so in my memory it's one well-written blur of tears). I wibbled my way through episodes eight through twelve, from the recording of the autopsy through to Nym's backstory and on to the ending.
This turned into more of a rec post than a meta post because it's a mystery show and I don't want to give too much away, but yeah. If you need a cathartic cry, want to explore an abandoned spaceship, and like (or hate) the idea of Space YouTubers, this one's for you.

So on the last post we briefly mentioned that Nym and Rowl have gotten a few changes. Nym is now Kestrel, and got a new backstory (and brother!) So we'll release stuff about that soon.
Rowl is now Thorne and is getting a redesign, and this is some progress of that~
Both had name changes for backstory reasons; Kestrel's mom had a bird theme going with her first kiddo, and "Nym" just didn't quite fit anymore. Also I have ALWAYS wanted a character named Kestrel... more on them whenever we make that post about Kestrel.
Thorne was named by his dad, who is a fancy lad. And while Rowl is absolutely a name he would pick, Thorne is trans and Lup (Thorne's dad) obviously named him before he transitioned. But Thorne is very proud of his name and it isn't something he is very disphoric about so wouldn't change it... so Yarne figured it was best to pick a more gender neutral name.
For some background though, Thorne is also the name of another character that was once part of Lup and Pepper's backstory (the mom and dad) who was cut and then repurposed when we moved Lup and Pepper to be Thorne's parents. She was their youngest who died, and was a major part of the end of their story in original- a sickly, weak baby who was extremely sweet and died in her Lu's arms... but that plot line just wasn't needed anymore, so she was moved to being Rowl/Thorne's baby. The same tragedy happens, but the association with the name always echoed to Lup and Pepper.
However Rowl/Thorne was also a sickly baby that Lup exclusively cared for. When he was born Pepper wanted nothing to do Thorne because he was unnatural and was surely too sick to survive a world as harsh as the Wastes. Lup, however refused to give up on the baby that easily and raised Thorne practically alone along with adopted brother, Keev who she also rejected at first. Unlike Thorne, she eventually accepted Keev despite Thorne's every effort to be who she wanted.
Eventually Pepper saw how thoroughly she had screwed up, but it wasn't until after Thorne found his mate/partner and decided to leave and feelings had turned very bitter.
So yeah! All that lead to Thorne getting a shiny new name, the design change came from a completely separate discussion about character design xD

Nymrod ''A Silver-y coated Fool''
Tumblr media
Backstory Blurb;
Nymrod was a High Half Elf Silver Dragonic Bloodline Sorcerer who tried to become a fashion designer despite his family's high demands and expectations. He particularly disliked his innate magic as he had the tendency to freeze things when he got nervous.
As a result of his unstable powers and clumsiness, no one would take him as an apprentice so he had to teach himself how to sew. Struggling with what to do with his misfortunes, he briefly joined a band of friends on a few adventures, realizing he really disliked contributing to conflict and fighting. During a tour to Elturel, he got really drunk and passed out.. Only to awaken when Elturel was pulled into Avernus. The sudden shift of planes for some reason changed him into a Dainty, soft looking Tiefling, unrecognizable to himself and his friends. They swiftly abandoned him in order to flee. Left with little else to hold onto, Nymrod is who he became. Acting docile, foolish and helpless, his appearance and behavior gave him his name, a combination of ''Nymph'' and ''Nimrod'' Passed around several devils as a pretty pet to look at. Hiding his intelligence and using his charm to remain unharmed. When Nymrod was about to be sold to one particularly cruel Devil in exchange of dozens of soul coins, Raphael ended up coming to his rescue. The Cambion recognized Nymrod's facade, becoming the only safe space were Nym's intelligence was genuinely recognized. Nym is very indifferent about the conflict surrounding Avernus as he had to prioritize his own survival. Due being abandoned by his only friends in his time of need, he stopped caring for those who do not value him. Since then he has gotten used to his body, still feeling somewhat strange about it. Some inconsistencies might exist in the blurb, but he is an OC, casual oc. He wouldn't exist in the same universe as the videogame per sé, so no tadpole or mindflayer business. He's not an adventurer, so not very experienced in combat- avoids it.
Idk I like the idea of ''very evil half devil has soft spot for a very unlucky dude'' cuz I enjoy fluff as much as I enjoy angst.
*people in the house of hope literally being tortured, screaming in the background* Nymrod: Hmm. I feel inspired.. *sketches outfit ideas* Raphael: *sips from a glass of brandy* The songs they sing in the morning are the most spirited. Nymrod: Oh, should I add some more skulls in this pattern??
I don't think Nymrod is evil, but rather- indifferent? He had no room to care for others, being isolated for so long. He no longer has that passively active empathy he used to before Avernus. Too much shit happened..
Might write some fic later, idk. I don't feel confident in writing Raphael to be honest, but I want to describe Nym's story a bit more. I don't really intend on drawing it actively as I have other projects.
Nym would get along with Haarlep pretty well, sassy bitching.
Some other things about Nymrod.
-Freezing things when nervous still happens, but given that they're in hell- it just turns into water right away half of the time. ''Did you have an oopsie?'' Haarlep would probably joke around that Nym is a bedwetter.. -He sometimes sheds the scales, but they regrow on the exact same locations. Skin gets a little overly sensitive during this time. -He purrs! Isn't sure why, but it happens. -As a Half Elf, his hair was much darker, he used to wear very dark clothing, but after settling in his new form he prefers light colors. Mostly pink. -As a Fierna Tiefling and sorcerer, Nym's charm spell happens mostly subconsciously, it's gotten him out of trouble many times. -He sold his previous name to a Fey who was wandering in the Hells while he was still held captive as a caged pet. The fey gave him a blessing that makes him naturally lucky out of pity in exchange. He doesn't remember his old name or previous personality much, but he does remember his life before Avernus. He has no attachment to his old life. -Nym had no close friends or relatives when he was abandoned by his family. His only friends were the adventuring group, or so he thought.. -He is clingy, bit of a damsel. Would still throw ice at someone as a last resort. Not great at aim though. Would probably die in 2 hits. -Plays with his tail absentmindedly when he's bored, still unfamiliar with the limb at times. -Tailwag when he's excited. -He really really really likes how his body looks after the change, but it did take some getting used to. -His horns have very sensitive nerve endings. -Insecure in the bedroom, but only because he's inexperienced. His only previous sexual encounters were while drunk, has an alcohol problem but isn't addicted. He just doesn't know when to stop drinking. When given the chance he will drink until he passes out. -Whenever possible, he will make or design clothes for Raphael and Haarlep. Has his own little atelier room to work on these things. -Throws little pouty tantrums when his clothing or work gets stained. -Crybaby, very easily overstimulated. Cries when stressed. -Smarter than he makes himself out to be, loves puzzles. Has solved very intricate and difficult puzzles on a whim before. -Raphael exclusively calls him ''Nimphy'' when greeting him. -Settled for being spoiled or treated as a pet pretty easily, has kept the collar with his name on it since he first got it. He feels safer while wearing it. I might draw responses to specific questions about Nymrod actually. Feel free to flood my inbox lol, if you want me to draw this oc in specific situations..

1, 11, and 15 for Tav backstory asks!
Is your Tav Baldurian? If yes, did they grow up in Baldur’s Gate? If no, where are they from? Not by birth! Losson spent most of his formative years living in Baldur's Gate, but he's originally from a small town far south on the Sword Coast, even further south than Murann, west to the Forest of Tethir.
11. Did your Tav know or know any of the other characters?
Yes! Of the companions, Losson only knew Jaheira, but not beyond having seen her around the lower city. As for other characters? Losson, given that he's nearly 400 years old, has actually had relationships with both Zevlor and Abdirak in his past - both VERY different relationships with VERY different dynamics. He's also a former employee of Sharess's Caress, having trained Sorn and Nym when they first arrived to the city. He also has had his crossings with Gortash but. . .There are reasons he chooses not to share this knowledge with others. 15. Do they have any sentimental items?
Just one. His ring. He usually just wears it around his neck on a chain these days. His clients got a lil touchy about it, not really liking the implication of which finger he wore it on.
