#of course kaito would be pissed at them for wanting to die
Text
RECORD OF RAGNAROK CHAPTER 4 EGO VS MODESTY PART 2
*as the battle started the god started jabbing in a circle pattern to pressure the young slayer into dieing of course even with his skills and speed Kaito got hit once or twice recoiling everytime and hearing Heimdall yell about his condition was just annoying him now he saw he couldn't hit the god himself and was getting more and more mad bit soon one swing did manage to cut his ear and bangs Kaito stopped and his fear and anger turned to oddly peaceful glee.*
*See he was happy this god could be hurt. As it meant he had a chance. He had hope. So he kept going of course he used the rules to his advantage as several crows dived and flew around the god as he let out another round of his attack Wrathful Wave but…he got a crow's talon to the finger. He growled at the sheer gall to humiliate him by suggesting a crow could best him*
Poseidon:how infuriating.
Crow one:Helps to have friends!
Crow two:you should know!
*he of course tried to swing at them only to get hit in the abdomen with the hilt of Kaito's sword who used a thunder breathing technique in fact it was thunder breathing first form six fold. He was starting to see why that crying child liked this form so much. As to be expected the hod blocked the other five hits but each hit he got closer and closer.*
Poseidon:how sad. We have no such need for the herd, no scheming with lower beings and no supporters. Such are the gods. Support holds no meaning to those that reach perfection. Now! Die—
*he was interrupted by a rather pissed Kaito punching him in the face with enough force to knock a tooth out. In an odd move he picked the tooth up and dangled it like he was mocking him. Hirst mentally was smiling because Kaito might not be a Yamamoto in blood but his family taught him everything. And well mama did always say to quote 'break a bitch's ego'. Of course the 'Perfect' god managed to get a hit in which cut his whole arm off even though he blocked with his sword. As he fell back he recalled all his achievements throughout his life. And his life. It was odd really. Abandoned as a newborn at a doorstep to a temple. Raised by monks who had no belongings and even denied him a name. And when a spider demon came and destroyed the temple he took a sword and a book across Japan learning he was oddly good at hurting others. Then he was found by a family of demons. The same demons many would tell him he should have taken out as a slayer. And soon after he became a slayer. Slowly raising in ranks before becoming a student to the stone hashira. He was there when upper six fell. He helped fight upper four. He was with a squad to fight upper one. And it was there he was somehow related to that brother betraying backstabbing power hungry ex-slayer. But of course he wasn't much help when muzan was in the battle he tried and tried but failed. As a result his friend got possessed, he almost died and his teachers died. And after 100 years he soon died. It was really funny. 100 years and he was the last Yamamoto. If he recalls correctly his family married into others. He's not sure where but they did. And in his time in the afterlife he kept training. He was going to protect the good and banish the evil of the afterlife. And soon he had somehow at some point surpassed even Yorrichi THE sun hashira himself but he kept going. Was It a drive to help? Or to protect? Maybe he wanted to finish what he failed to finish. Whatever was the reason he was here now. And he will end it. He soon regrew his arm and in a rage swung his arm turning it into a copy of the gods trident and stabbed him in the foot with it. As the God jumped back Kaito grabbed Hirst and swung the clash broke the sword in two but soon he grabbed both halves and while apologizing he growled and put the two halves away and he clenched his fists activating 'Total Concentration Breathing' and 'The See-Through World' with his demon slayer mark activating the god would see a large intricate moon symbol grow across his whole abdomen as Kaito had Hirst use the ritual again to reform herself as he charged the god unknowingly wearing the 'Yamamoto trademark manic face.'
(Think a mix of these two.)

DRV3 Girls with an S/O who's like Mikan
Warnings: Mikan's personality/actions
Mod Ibuki: JSISJDOSJD OF COURSE YOU CAN!! Thank you so much! I'm so happy it was a comfort for you! I know I must sound like a broken record but thank you so much for the compliments!
Tumblr media
Kaede:
Kaede thinks you are "an angel sent from heaven"
She adores you
But like the others she doesn't favor how you are willing to please anyone
"S/O! Get on all fours and bark like a dog or else!" "O-Okay!" "S/O doesn't have to do anything! So why don't you take your request and stick it!"
Kaede doesn't mess around when it comes to you
Like if someone ever bothered you she'd smash their head over her piano no hesitation
The one time you offered to take your clothes off for her, she was very upset
"S/O...? Why would you offer to do that? I don't want you to take your clothes off just to please me. That's not how a relationship works! I love you for you! Not your body! Though it is beautiful!"
If you ever thought she was mad at you, she'd be even more upset than when you offered to take your clothes off
Tumblr media
"I-I'm s-sorry!! I d-didn't mean to hurt y-your f-feelings!" "You didn't hurt my feelings at all, S/O! I promise! I love you far to much to be angry at you, okay?"
Kaede gets a little overbearing sometimes, but it's only because she worries and wants to make sure you are alright
Miu:
Okay, at first, Miu used your gullibility
She thought it was funny how you would offer to please her
But after you started doing the same for Kokichi, she got a little upset
"Hey, asshole!! Leave her alone!!"
She realized after that there was a problem with what you were doing and that it wasn't something she should make fun of
If you ever took a fall in front of her, she would laugh a little at first, but she definitely helped you
She wouldn't leave you hanging
If you fell in a suggestive position she'd get start screaming and kinda just, throw herself on you
Not in a sexual way, more like she panicked and tried covering you up
If you ever thought she was mad at you, she'd get a little annoyed
With herself and the situation
"Babe, I'm not mad. I'm pissed at Kokichi because he was bein' a little shit again. Are you bein' a little shit? No, you aren't! So you shouldn't act like you did something wrong when you know you didn't."
Tumblr media
Miu may have laughed at first, but she really does love you
Maki:
Maki got annoyed at first
She thought you were weak
But when Kaito brought you to training as a method to try and break you out of your shell, she went into protective mode
No one even glanced in your direction because she was always there
If someone ever made fun of you, they might actually die
"S/O! I always wanted a dog! Can you show me what one looks like?" "Alr-" "Do you want to die, asshole?"
If you ever took a fall in front of her, she'd act annoyed, but she'd be worried
She would take your hands and help you up while asking if you were alright
If you fell in a suggestive position, you'd see a slight blush on her face as she tried to help you
Anyone who looked would get glared at
You thought Maki was mad at you after you fell because she seemed angry
"No, I'm just a little worried. I'm not mad that you fell. Everyone falls once in a while. It was an accident. Why would I get mad at you over an accident? That's stupid."
Maki may be stoic, but you definitely broke down her walls
She loves you so much because of that
Tumblr media
Kirumi:
Kirumi immediately went into mother mode
She doesn't let anything happen to you
On the rare occasion someone made fun of you, she'd make them feel so guilty
"You know, that is very rude of you. I don't understand why you'd say such things. As a result, I suggest you keep to yourself and mind your own."
If you ever took a fall in front of her, her reflexes are very fast
She's sees it happening I swear
So more often than not she catches you, but if she doesn't she immediately picks you back up and covers you if need be
Once, you offered to take your clothes off for Kirumi because you thought she was bothered by you
"Dear! Don't do that! I do not want you to take your clothes off just for the sake of entertaining me. You're body is far too beautiful to be used like that! Only show it to me if you want to, not because you feel obligated."
Because of that conversation, you thought she was mad at you
"Dove, I promise, I am not angry in the slightest. I am just, scared. I am scared others will use you and I don't want that. So let's try and work on this together, okay?"
Tumblr media
You are literally Kirumi's world <3
Angie:
Atua told Angie that she must befriend you
So she listened, of course
"Hiya! Atua says Angie should be friends with you, so Angie will oblige! So, what do you say?" "O-Only if y-you want..." "Of course I want to!"
If someone ever made fun of you, she'd get very mad
"I'll use your blood as a sacrifice to Atua... Don't say another thing to them."
Yeah...terrifying
If you ever fell in front of her, she'd immediately pick you back up and pull you into her chest
If it was a suggestive position you fell in, she'd do the same exact thing except she'd cover you up if need be
"It's okay, my love. Don't cry, it's okay."
If you ever thought she was mad at you, she'd be a little confused
"Why would I be angry? I have no reason to be! So, I promise you, I am not angry with you. Why don't we cuddle for a bit, yes?"
Angie thinks you're precious and just wants to hold you all the time
Tumblr media
Tenko:
PROTECTIVE MODE IMMEDIATELY ACTIVATED
Tenko immediately yelled at any male who came in a near vicinity to you
If someone ever made fun of you, they better pray to whatever god they believe in
Because she will throw them
"Don't you dare! If you say another thing to my S/O I'm gonna knock you out so hard! Degenerate!"
If you ever fell in front of her, she'd pick you up immediately
Like full-blown bridal style
If it was a suggestive position, she'd do the same thing with a blush
And if anyone said anything, she'd make a mental note to wreck their shit when you weren't around
When you offered to take your clothes off for Tenko, she freaked out
"S-S/O! Don't do that! No, no, no! Beauty like that should not be shown so easily! Especially if it's just for pleasing someone!"
If you ever thought Tenko was mad at you, she'd immediately shut that down
"I could never be mad at you! I'd never! You are far too adorable to get mad at! I love you!"
Tenko would kick anyone's ass if it made you happy, trust me :)
Tsumugi:
Tumblr media
Tsumugi was worried for your safety
She thought you would get the same treatment Gonta got from Kokichi
If you did, she'd try her best to keep them away
"Hey! Leave S/O alone! They did nothing wrong!"
She's not very intimidating but she tries
If you ever took a fall in front of her, she'd do her absolute best to help you back up as quick as possible
If you tore a bit of your clothes from the fall, she'd fix it for you as soon as she saw it!
When you offered to take your clothes off for her, she got very confused
"W-What!? Why would you offer that so easily!? S/O, you have the perfect body people could only dream of having. Please, only show it to those who you know are worthy of seeing it!"
If you ever thought she was angry at you, she'd immediately disagree
"No, S/O! I'm not! I'm not mad at all! Kokichi was just getting on my nerves today. Nothing new! You did nothing wrong!"
Even though Tsumugi is a little shy, she'd try her best to protect you
Himiko:
Tumblr media
Himiko thought you were kinda cute
She found your shyness to be very adorable
But when someone bothered you, oh boy
"I'll cast a spell on you that'll turn you into a pig! Maybe you should practice your oinks to prepare!"
If you ever fell in front of her, she can't really catch you because she's tiny, but she'd help you up
"I'm sorry that my magic couldn't help you. My mana is a little low..."
If it was a suggestive position you fell in, she'd screech and cover you up while covering her eyes
Speaking of screeching, if you ever offered to take your clothes off for her, she'd start screeching again
"No! That's n-not what I want at all! Don't offer to do that! It's not right! Y-You're body is the most beautiful thing ever! S-So, don't show it to m-me if you don't r-really want to!"
If you ever thought Himiko was mad at you, she'd freak out
"N-Never! I am not mad, S/O! Pinky promise? My pinky is magical, so you know it's real!"
Himiko will use her magic to protect you, don't worry

Breaking in pt.2 w/ Aizawa, Shinsou and Bakugou
Request: Hi!! SoooOO I recently found your stuff and it's safe to say I am ✨obsessed✨ I LOVED the post you did of the BNHA reacting to someone breaking in with Hawks, Dabi and Todoroki. I was wondering if you could do another one with like Shinsou, Bakugou and Aizawa. I feel like Baku would throw mad HANDS. love your work stay stuff and have a good day x - anonymous
Okay I too love rescue fics and being kidnapped or held hostage is one of my favorite tropes. Throwing your kids in the mix is immaculat at least for me because I’m a die hard fan of domestic AUs. So of course I’m gonna write this trope again with these three idiots. I enjoyed writing the previous one so hehheehehehhe. Love ya. 💖💖💖
masterlist II rules
warnings: some descriptions of violence, some crying but fluff/comfort in the end.
Aizawa Shota II a son (Kaito)
Tumblr media
-He was running late.
-He hated running late.
-Today the class had extra training hours and it lasted longer than he expected, so much so that he had to call for someone to fill in his spot on patrol tonight.
-In reality he really wanted to spend the night at home with you and your 2 year old son, canceling his patrol because the kids didn’t finish training was just an excuse.
-He had shot you a text informing you that he would be home tonight but a little later than usual.
-You had just picked up Kaito from his aunt when you got Aizawa’s message.
-You were excited to spend some time with your husband.
-Between your time teaching and his midnight patrols, the only moments you truly got to spend with him were in between the classes or when he came home for dinner and then immediately left.
-You knew he felt bad leaving the two of you alone for so long and you knew he beat himself up for missing precious time with his son.
-Opening your apartment door you were met with complete silence which was odd.
-Usually your three cats, Mochi, Mocha and Coco would meet you at the door, mewing and purring at your feet, Kaito always wanting to be put down so he could pet them.
-Now though none of them came and you immediately knew something was up.
-Your spidey senses were tingling.
-Setting your stuff down you held Kaito closer to you as you slowly walked around your living room and kitchen.
-Nothing seemed amiss.
-Kaito let out a small whimper and shifted in your grip as something moved behind you.
-Just because you retired from being a hero doesn’t mean your skills have disappeared.
-Oh no, as a new mom you were hyper aware of your surroundings and you easily dodged the blow that was aimed at your head.
-Whipping around you came face to face with a hooded figure that seemed more like a burglar than a villain.
-The dude's eyes quickly landed on Kaito and he let out a shaky breath.
-They definitely weren’t villains.
-People were aware of Aizawa’s family and any villain who tried to get to him through you would have known about Kaito’s existence.
- “Shit…. Yo she has a kid!”
-Another one came pounding from the hallway, eyes quickly landing on the baby you had clutched to your chest.
-Letting out an exasperated sigh the second intruder rolled his eyes, grabbing an umbrella from the hanger and slowly making his way towards you.
-  “Just knock her out and tie her up, put the kid in a crib or something.”
-You weren’t about to let them touch your son, they wouldn’t even be able to come remotely near him.
-Activating your quirk, thrumming filled the air as you were prepared to fight them, to keep them away from the crying child in your arms and that’s when you saw him.
-He is always so silent, his footsteps so gentle on the marble floor of your apartment that you have convinced yourself that he is indeed half cat at this point.
-Aizawa was burning holes at the back of their heads, hair up as he activated his quirk, cancelling theirs.
-You kissed Kaito as Shota let his capture tool fly across the room successfully trapping the two burglars.
-In six strides you were next to him, checking for injuries on each other while simultaneously trying *and failing mostly* to calm your 2 year old down.
-The police were called, naming this whole incident as a random burglary and not a scheduled attack, relieving both of you; you didn’t wanna move again.
-That night Kaito slept in your room, cuddled on Aizawa’s chest as you were nestled under his arm.
-Three fur balls were curled at the foot of your shared bed, purring away lulling you to sleep.
-You found those three locked in your bathroom.
-Apparently Mocha had scratched the living hell out of one of the burglars and they had locked all of them in the bathroom for safe measure.
- “I’m sorry for this.”
- “Burglaries happen Shota, it wasn’t your fault. I’m glad you came when you did, fighting while holding Kaito would have been kinda difficult. I think I might be getting kinda rusty.”
-He stroked Kaito’s plush cheek before letting out a sigh.
- “I have never seen him cry like that. When he sees me he always calms down but now-”
- “He was scared, Shota. He saw them before I did and the whole situation shook him up. But he’ll be fine, he’s got us.”
-Giving you a kiss and then placing another one on his son’s forehead, he closed his eyes, arms tightening around the both of you a little.
Shinsou Hitoshi II a daughter (Kei)
Tumblr media
-Hitoshi had been to every single pharmacy in the area searching for Kei’s medication.
-She had gotten sick and you had asked him to fetch some antibiotics your pediatrician had suggested you give her if her fever didn’t go down.
-Now, Hitoshi was getting desperate.
-It was the flu season and almost all the pharmacies had emptied their shelves from this particular antibiotic.
-He was ready to pull his hair out.
-Apart from that, he also hated leaving you alone like this.
-You both needed him at the moment and he wasn’t helping at all.
-Kei was suffering from her fever while you were about 7 weeks pregnant and he was out here running around like a maniac.
-In one last desperate attempt he entered another pharmacy and to his surprise they had what he was looking for and he was out the door in a flash, leaving the store without giving the clerk enough time to say a single ‘thank you, come again.’
-Sprinting home, he dashed into your apartment complex and up the stairs, fumbling for his keys as he neared your door only to find it already ajar.
-Slowing down he looked at the open entryway; he was sure he closed it on the way out.
-Why hadn’t you closed it?
-Pushing it open he came face to face with a disheveled living room, Kei’s toys scattered everywhere while one of your armchairs was knocked over.
-A small whimper suddenly pierced the air and Hitoshi would recognize his daughter’s cries from anywhere.
-A deep voice told her to shut up which was answered by your angry voice threatening to beat the living shit out of them if they touched her.
-With silent steps, Hitoshi tiptoed to your daughter’s room where he could hear the talking only to stop dead in his tracks when shuffling came from your bedroom.
-Another figure emerged from your bedroom halting once they saw Shinsou.
- “What th-”
- “Sleep.”
-Without bothering to check if the intruder passed out, Hitoshi pushed open the door, his anger radiating all around him at the very thought that someone had touched his family.
-The second person whipped around at the sound of the door opening, eyes wide as they met Hitoshi’s, fumbling to activate their quirk.
-They made the fatal mistake of speaking though and soon they were unconscious just like their friend, laying on the pastel carpet of Kei’s room.
-In one swift motion he had Kei in his arms and untied your wrists, rubbing the irritated skin and checking for injuries.
-Kei wouldn’t calm down, her grip on his shirt turned to iron once the police dragged them out of your house.
- “I wish I could beat their ass.”
- “You know you can’t use your quirk right now kitten.”
- “Yeah but they pissed me off.”
-Your doctor had forbidden quirk use during the pregnancy and that’s why those two morons had managed to catch you.
-The scowl on your face had become almost permanent and Shinsou couldn’t decide if he should find it cute or terrifying.
-Kei became attached to Hitoshi’s chest.
-Hitoshi refused to let her go just like she refused to let him go, staying in his embrace for the rest of the day, any attempt to get her away from him resulting in tears.
-You are kinda salty but some ice cream will fix that.
Bakugou Katsuki II A son (Tatsuo)
Tumblr media
- “Okay kids, you have a nice weekend and don’t forget to finish your family portraits for Monday. Tatsuo and I would love to see them.”
-A multitude of goodbyes came through the screen as your kindergarten class, some of your students even opened their cameras to wave at you and your son who was sitting on your lap.
-Tatsuo babbled back at them, little byes leaving his lips as he too waved back at your laptop.
-Being in quarantine wasn’t that bad for a kindergarten teacher.
-Your online classes weren’t difficult to manage and you got to spend more time with your two year old son.
-The class loved seeing him and would ask if he was joining them each morning.
-Closing your laptop, you hugged your mini Katsuki as you started heating up his milk.
-You were humming, gently rocking him as you waited for the milk, giving him stray kisses here and there just to see his little nose scrunch up reminding you of Katsuki more and more everyday.
-Checking your phone for any new messages, you let out a sigh at your husband’s message saying he was coming home; that was thirty minutes ago.
-Hero work didn’t let up despite the quarantine.
-Bakugou was as busy as ever, leaving first thing in the morning and most of the time returning home late in the afternoon sometimes staying out even after midnight.
-Today though he had managed to get off earlier than usual, promising to cook for both of you tonight.
-You knew he wanted to spend more time with Tatsuo and the fact that he was gone for the majority of the day was eating him up.
-He was so worried that he was neglecting his son; he even convinced himself that Tatsuo would soon come to hate him.
-Your son on the other hand was attached to Katsuki’s hip, always searching for his dad in the morning and beaming when Katsu came home.
-He could never hate him.
-The sound of the door opening snapped you out of your little Katsuki infused dream state.
-Turning around you expected to see your husband in the living room, arms stretched out as he smiled at the two of you.
-But you were met with three strangers; three hooded strangers holding a crowbar and two bags.
-It was a staring contest for a solid five minutes before either of you moved.
-One of them noticed Tatsuo and nudged his “coworker” who then informed the leader of the trio.
- “Better not make a sound sweetheart, I’d hate hurting that pretty little face of yours.”
-He took a step forward only for you to take a step back, until your back hit the cupboard.
-He let out a chuckle and motioned for his rookies to search the place as he continued walking towards you.
-Tastuo was gripping your shirt, eyes trained on the man, his brows downcast in anger.
-Your phone lit up on the counter and in one swift move you grabbed it, pressing your emergency call button as the intruder rounded the counter.
-You sprinted for the front door just as Katsuki picked up only to be grabbed by one of the other two and dragged back inside the house, Katsuki’s yells echoing through the phone.
-Now you are aware that your husband is one of the top pro heroes.
-You know that in order to rise to the top charts in this industry you need to have certain attributes like strength, tactical thinking ….speed.
-You felt him more than saw him.
-You were wrestling to get the hands of the intruder off of you when you felt the windows rattle.
-And before you knew it, your husband had tackled the man holding you to the floor, knocking him unconscious with a single punch before pouncing on the other two.
-Tatsuo was letting out small hiccups as tears rolled down his cheeks, his grip on your shirt never wavering but he refused to sob.
-He had his father’s pride okay? Even at the age of two.
-Katsuki had you both in his arms in a flash, calling the police before checking both of you over for injuries and what not.
- “Did they hurt you? I swear I’ll kill them if they did.”
-  “We are fine Katsu, just a little shaken.”
-The moment Tatsuo was in Katsuki’s arms he began to cry, burying his face in his dad’s chest still holding on to your shirt.
-It took an eternity to calm him down and even longer to put him to sleep, even though he was sleeping in your bed.
-The next morning Katsuki was on the news for marching to the police station and beating the living hell out of the burglars.

Hi! Could I request the V3 boys reactions to their s/o becoming the blackened because they were trying to save them.
Yesssss more angst! These were fun to write!
TWs: Blood, Death, Suicide Mentions, and Major DRV3 Spoilers
..............
Ryoma
No..it couldn’t be true..could it?
Ryoma couldn’t believe you’d actually kill someone, though your reason came as a shock: It was to save his life.
Kirumi was plotting to murder him after the second motive came out. And she obviously panicked when you showed up instead of him, so she tried attacking you.
But you retaliated, leaving her body in the bathroom and altering the crime scene to make it look like she slipped while cleaning it.
You didn’t want to kill anyone, but you were terrified she might target him some other time if you didn’t stop her.
Yet Ryoma vehemently denied you did anything, arguing with Shuichi up until he pointed out incriminating evidence.
He was crushed, knowing he’s going to lose another loved one.
He can’t understand why a criminal like him was worth saving.
But the deed was done. And as your final wish before being executed, you plead for him to survive and see that life’s worth it.
While he’s never been good with promises, he’ll try to keep this last one...for your sake.
Shuichi
He learned the truth earlier than anyone else.
Someone knew he was too smart, always leading the trials and making the swift deductions.
So they believed eliminating him would guarantee them escape from the academy, as everyone would arrive to wrong conclusions without him.
However you put a stop to their plot, accidentally killing them with their own weapon they prepared.
Shuichi didn’t want it to be you--not you, of all people--so he’s far more reluctant to accuse you of murder.
He’s pretty much mute throughout the trial, but you take notice fast and see him slipping back into that cowardly detective persona.
“Shuichi, don’t you dare go back into hiding. Don’t you dare look away from the truth again.”
“..but...”
He just absolutely refuses to. He can’t....not this time.
So instead, you reveal the truth about your crime. Every last detail--from when the motive came out to how you disposed of the evidence.
By the end of your explanation, he’s in tears--realizing you saved his life..in exchange for your own.
Every night since then, he cries as he hugs the Helping Yacchi plush you gave him the day before the body was discovered.
It hurt so much to condemn you, someone he truly loved.
Kokichi
You learned very quickly that Miu was plotting to kill Kokichi, after noticing her put a bottle of poison in his seat before returning to hers and logging in.
That made you livid. But more scared than anything else.
So you formulated a plan after learning everything (or almost everything) about the virtual world.
You overheard Miu and Kokichi planning to meet on the mansion rooftop, and you didn’t like that idea one bit.
Little did you know, he and Gonta were conspiring to murder her, too, but you beat them to the punch.
Obviously he was pissed someone foiled his plans....but imagine his shock when it turned out to be you.
The two were suspects for a long time as they explained the “Killing Game Busters” scheme.
But since Miu died by your hands--their names were cleared.
Kokichi was in frustrated tears, yelling at you for not telling him sooner.
But he ultimately breaks down when your punishment was announced.
He clings to you, crying and begging you not to leave him--he even pleads with Monokuma to let him die with you.
This time it’s not an act.
He feels genuine sorrow and heartache for a long time after the trial.
Gonta
It’d be impossible to think anyone would try to kill him.
But someone tried taking advantage of his gullibility. And you happened to be there at the exact same time, attacking the assailant while your entomologist boyfriend ran off in fear.
You cleaned as much evidence as you could before finding and consoling him, lying that you just talked to them.
He believes you and is relieved---until the body discovery announcement plays later on.
Even though you lied, he doesn’t blame you. Not even during the trial where you made up an alibi.
But when Gonta himself is questioned...he clams up, knowing exactly what happened and being too scared to say the truth.
He doesn’t want to condemn you! Gentlemen don’t-
You reassure him it’s okay. Shuichi has you in a corner and there’s no point in letting the trial drag on.
So he eventually admits what he saw, and he can only cry as he votes you as the Blackened.
You two share one last hug, and he says he’ll never ever call you a killer, thanking you for protecting him even if he failed to protect you.
Korekiyo
It doesn’t come as a surprise that someone would try murdering him. He could see the hatred in their eyes whenever he looked at them.
His menacing appearance seems to be more than enough of a reason to target him.
However, after finding their body and signs of a struggle surrounding the crime scene, he arrives to the conclusion that the culprit knew he was in danger and killed to protect him.
Ah...how beautiful that realization was.
Or so he thought.
When it’s revealed you carried out that deed, using his golden sword to swiftly kill the victim, his heart is completely shattered.
‘No..no, no, no, no, no!!’
He feels anger, sorrow, confusion, and..so many other unpleasant things at once as you confess to the crime.
Not even Sister calms him down. He becomes belligerent, trying to steer everyone away from the truth and claim he killed the victim in self-defense.
You have to step off your podium to console him, as he was screaming his head off and scaring everyone.
When the trial is over, he just holds you close, begging Monokuma not to take you--his one true love--away from him.
But alas, it’s all for nothing as you’re sentenced to your execution.
Though you remind Korekiyo of what he’s taught you about death, as you didn’t fear it, and you promise you’ll watch over him in the afterlife.
Kaito
He’s incredibly outraged when everyone suspects you as the culprit in spite of the evidence that piles up.
“Shuichi, you're not actually gonna believe their crap, right?! Stop screwing around--!”
“He’s not, Kaito. It's the truth."
Stunned, he looks at you. Since your podium was conveniently next to his, he didn’t have to look far to see the guilt in your eyes.
Learning your motivation, however, is what ultimately crushed him.
You killed...to protect him?
No..
That couldn’t be right! He was suppose to protect you! Didn’t he always tell you how killing was wrong and-?!
But the truth was you did try talking some sense into the victim...but they attacked you instead, and you retaliated in self-defense. So it was purely accidental.
Kaito is pissed when Monokuma jests that “murder is murder” no matter what and he actually tries fighting the Exisals.
You insist he doesn’t interfere, and plead for him to use that strength to help protect everyone else instead.
His spirit is broken for a while, but...he’ll recover and keep fighting on. For your sake.
K1B0
Something in you snapped when you overheard Kokichi taunt your robot boyfriend for the last time, actually hurting him physically as well as emotionally.
K1B0 went to you in tears, not understanding why he hated him so much.
After comforting him, you’ve finally had enough. You were sick of him being harassed nonstop.
So you sent him to see Miu while you met with Kokichi to “talk”.
While the Ultimate Supreme Leader seemed suspicious, he let his guard down...sealing his fate as you strangled him with his own scarf.
Then you inflicted numerous wounds on his corpse to disguise the true cause of death.
But when the truth was revealed, K1B0 was in total shock at your motive.
He couldn’t believe you’d do something so barbaric.
Even if Kokichi bullied him relentlessly, there’s no reason you had to go as far as murder him!
However he understands anger can be a powerful emotion--one that throws any and all sense of logic out the window.
Still..it hurt to watch you get executed. He went into shutdown for the rest of the day/night.
And here he was, thinking you two had finally torn down the wall of “forbidden love” between human and robot for good.
Rantaro
You managed to kill Tsumugi before she had a chance to murder Rantaro and Kaede’s final part of her plan went into motion.
The shot put ball’s sudden appearance startled him into forgetting about the hidden room and running out of the library..
And up the stairs as the obnoxious music stops and one of the girls yelled for everyone to come into the bathroom--where Tsumugi’s body was.
At that point, the game should’ve ended since you actually killed the mastermind.
But of course, Team Danganronpa had backup plans and thus the game kept going.
You had rearranged the crime scene to make it look like a suicide, leading everyone to assume the time limit’s pressures are what killed the cosplayer.
But eventually your crime was unraveled and Rantaro was utterly devastated.
You’re the first Blackened in yet another killing game he was forced to participate in.
You only killed Tsumugi because you found it suspicious she suddenly ran off on her own near the time limit’s end.
In doing so you unknowingly saved Rantaro’s life in exchange for your own.
He was upset you did something so rash when he clearly told everyone not to, but...at the same time he’s grateful to be alive because of you.
He swears your death won’t be in vain. He’s gonna escape this game with everyone else.

i hate kaito momota
now that i have your attention, i really want to delve into some of why i don’t like kaito, and what his character represents in relation to kokichi. (this turned into more of just a kaito hate post and i got rambly towards the end so if you don’t like hearing kaito hate i’d recommend not reading)
kokichi is deeply paranoid, and refuses to trust anyone. his distrustful nature leads to his plan to save everyone failing, and a lot of other needless pain and suffering for those around him. it is also not very productive for him, as kokichi constantly lying and doing everything he can to avoid vulnerability and airing his true intentions leads others to hate him, and it becomes very difficult for anyone else to follow what he is doing which would have led to a bigger possibility of them being saved much higher. also, kokichi’s lying is mostly self serving, save for a few large instances, he risks everyone else’s safety for his own comfort and security. (this is all coming from someone who adores kokichi to bits btw , fellow kokichi lovers and kins please don’t take this personally!)
now on to kaito,,,,,,,, kaito is characterised by a blind faith and optimism, directly opposing kokichi’s ideals and values. he immediately trusts everyone and anyone, and this endangers the casts lives quite a bit. he is quite literally willing to kill everyone just to prove he believes in his friends, proving his ideology to be far from perfect and just as dangerous as kokichi. kaito often disregards logic and common sense because his friend said something and of course it must be true. he gives people false hope, and confuses the whole cast often. he also ends up on multiple occasions forcing his flawed morality onto other characters, such as shuichi, widening the scope of impact his actions have, especially concerning with the fact that these actions are ill informed. kaito also did nothing in trials besides confuse people and lead them further from the truth. lots of people accuse kokichi of this, when kaito does the exact same thing but worse. at least kokichi was smart enough to figure out the truth first and try in a roundabout way to lead everyone else to it, while kaito just believes whatever hes told and has shuichi string him along. he resorts to fists and violence way too easily, while kokichi hates violence and usually only uses words to hurt people. kaito acts extremely immaturely and in ways that harm the others greatly. i mean, he was willing to let everyone die for his stupid ideals and the fact that he was pissed at kokichi. honestly. instead of getting over himself, he ignores shuichi for half a chapter because he was right where kaito was wrong.
i also really dislike how the creators treated him like some sort of hero, and clearly favoured him, instead of forcing him to confront his mistakes and wrong-doings, and tried too hard to paint him as the ‘good guy’ when in reality he is just as morally corrupt as kokichi. they both have harmful, extreme, ideals that nearly kill everyone they’re working so hard to save, so it is annoying to see kokichi’s wrong doings over exaggerated and upplayed, and beside that to see kaitos wrong doings brushed aside and downplayed. neither of them is a good guy, neither is a bad guy. they’re both morally grey characters.

ignore me, i’m archiving this thread bc... i love it. DO NOT REBLOG.
kid ( @kaivoleur ) & conan.
kid:
“ Have we talked about the moral implications and-or ramifications of putting infants in consistent, casual proximity with criminals and corpses yet? ”
conan:
conan tilts his head, almost birdlike, to the side upon that remark, briefly uncertain whether or not kid is making a joke about his stature and the rate of which he sees homicide cases or if he’s talking about the shōnentantei-dan and their current propensity to witness murders even WITHOUT conan in the direct vicinity.
deciding to take it as the latter, he remarks with much self-recrimination, ‘ the kids are pretty good at bouncing back now – better than they did even a few months ago, but, yeah, i do wish they weren’t quite getting so used to it. dad used to take me to crime scenes when i was their age, but i definitely didn’t see the variety and intensity of crimes at the same frequency they did at their age. ’
a wry grin touches his lips as he states, ‘ – y’know, they’ve even taken to talking about murder cases they’ve witnessed over lunch now ? nothing’s quite like hearing those three talk about the best ways they’ve seen a body being dumped – either through hydrochloric acid, chopping the body to pieces, or even just dumping a body into a river – while the other kids and our teacher are hanging onto their every word. those kids are going to be scary once they’re our age. ’
( he’s also continuously widely surprised that their parents would still let them go onto trips with him and agasa-hakase. conan’s pretty sure most parents would have IMMEDIATELY told the kids never to talk to conan again. he’s glad they didn’t because as much as the kids annoy him, he does genuinely like them, but… still. it probably would have been better for them to have been cut off from conan earlier on when witnessing one crime would have been in a once in a blue moon experience instead of literally every time they went on one of their weekly outings. )
kid:
KID hadn’t expected a serious reply, but that isn’t to say he’s not prepared for it. He quirks a brow at ‘ our age ’ and debates the merits of correcting the detective — on one hand, quipping about Conan’s current state is never not funny, but on the other, he’d really prefer to try and complete the night without getting a soccer ball power-kicked to his face, so.
“ Detectiveness must be infectious, ” he says instead, because he’s not in a particularly dodgy mood. First officers, then teens, and now children; he’s never going to be free of them, huh? The thought brings a smile to his face — he wouldn’t have it any other way, of course. The chase is pointless if it doesn’t attract attention, and ( even worse ) boring if some do-gooder isn’t trying to get in his way. “ I’m not going to have to deal with them on a regular basis, am I? I think even one tiny detective is grating enough on Nakamori-keibu’s nerves. ”
The thief doesn’t even want to think of what a group of five infuriatingly sharp children would do to the old man. ( Wait. Five? He pauses for a split instant, turning the detective’s words over in his head — he’d definitely said three, and three-plus-one… is one short. Hm. A thought for later, then. )
“ Hopefully, by the time they reach my age, we’ll both have everything… figured out, ” KID muses, a hint of a grin reaching his eyes. “ Not that I don’t enjoy all you young detectives making valiant attempts to slow me down, of course, but you know how it is. ” Probably not, but KID makes no further effort to explain.
conan:
‘ a “regular” basis ? probably not. your heists usually run too late at night, and their parents tend to be pretty good at setting a bedtime for them. ’ he’s pretty sure ran’s given up on setting him a bedtime considering all of the cases he takes and how some of them may last into the middle of the night. ‘ and i think nakamori-keibu is getting used to me. ’
he hadn’t been at first – in fact, nakamori-keibu had been downright hostile to the occasional addition of conan to the ranks, but, well, one can’t deny constant results. he’s pretty sure nakamori-keibu likes conan better than shinichi, at any rate, but, to be fair, shinichi only appeared once and immediately assumed control of the officers. conan’s only just come the closest to catching kid and getting jewels back as quickly as possible.
conan rolls his eyes at kid’s unsubtle emphasis of separating their ages ( and, as such, picking fun of conan’s current predicament. if it wasn’t for the fact that he’s pretty sure kid doesn’t know the full story, he’d get a lot more pissed than he does ). ‘ just for that, i’m making sure the others get new watches, belts, and shoes, ’ he threatens.
but, after a pause and the amused look crossing his face, it’s clear that conan has realised what an interesting and entertaining idea it would probably make. after all, the shōnentantei-dan were getting better at traps all the time, and, well, their soccer skills have also gotten better too just by playing with conan all of the time. hm… he might owe haibara a purse or something, but it might be worth it just to see kid having to dodge five high speed soccer balls.
kid:
“ I’m surprised you haven’t taught them your curfew-eschewing ways yet, ” KID remarks blandly, tucking his hands into his pockets. He’s been tempted multiple times to push the heist back further into the night — mostly because a sleepy Task Force is an easier to handle Task Force — but he really needs the crowds of an accessible hour to pull off some of his best tricks. ( Besides, much as he declines to admit it, he does need sleep too. Sometimes. When he doesn’t have anything else to do. So never, basically. )
Maybe if he got more sleep, he wouldn’t be accidentally inspiring his critics with awful, no-good, very bad ideas. One tantei-kun is enough, thank you very much, he doesn’t need an entire entourage of children power-kicking soccer balls at him. KID manages to suppress a shudder at the thought, merely letting his grin ice over a mere degree.
“ Don’t even think about it, ” he says with just a hint of dourness, although it’s obviously a little too late for that. “ Holding heists at reasonable hours is not worth getting pelted by a hail of weaponized sports equipment. Don’t make me push heists back to 3 AM and cheerfully let Nakamori-keibu know it’s your fault he’s not getting his much-needed beauty sleep. Hakuba would probably actively attempt to murder me, too, ” he adds as an afterthought. Especially if he did it during finals week — ooh, but now that thought’s tempting. Kaito doesn’t particularly need to excel, he just needs to pass, and he could do that in his sleep; Hakuba, however… Well. He can’t imagine the detective settling for anything less than his own best work. “ Hey, if I ever get murdered at my own heist, would you still investigate it? ”
It’s a question he voices with the light-hearted tone of a joke, but something in his expression — shifts, his gaze sharpening. As though halfway through the question, he’d realized what had actually come out of his mouth, and for an instant it’s not Hakuba on mind but Snake and a sniper’s scope. But the words weigh too heavily for his liking, so he pushes on with somewhat less-than-natural joviality, “ Or does being a criminal excuse me from your jurisdiction or whatever? I don’t know how you detectives work. ” ( A lie, for the most part. )
conan:
conan waves a hand as if to wipe the idea from both of their brains. ‘ you already know about it, so it wouldn’t make for such a good trap anymore anyway, and you’d be careful to look out for new watches, belts, and shoes for the kids. ’ now, the task force, on the other hand… that was definitely an idea to save for later.
( he also notes the slight familiarity of kid calling him “hakuba”. nakamori-keibu gets, well, “nakamori-keibu”, and conan gets “tantei-kun” and, on occasion, “meitantei”, so why does hakuba get called by his last name ? it may be nothing, but he notes it either way. ).
“hey, if i ever get murdered at my own heist, would you still investigate it?” the question seems light-hearted, coming from kid’s lips, a laugh at his own morality perhaps, but there’s something in his expression that shifts. conan’s eyes immediately narrow at the clue – it’s genuine, that shift of expression, judging from how kid tries to falsely lighten the air with, “or does being a criminal excuse me from your jurisdiction or whatever? i don’t know how you detectives work.”
he had heard rumours of unidentified criminals moving around at kid heists, but he hadn’t personally seen any sign of them, so he had just dismissed them as rumours. now, conan wonders if he shouldn’t have. something to look into, definitely. if someone was trying to kill kid, in a way that he apparently thinks is possible given the question, conan needs to put a stop to it yesterday.
‘ idiot, ’ he deadpans, affecting an annoyed appearance, as if insulted by the question. ‘ if someone – however unlikely – managed to kill you, i’d hunt them down and make sure they’d get arrested. it doesn’t matter to me if you’re a thief or not – murder takes precedence over thieves any day, and criminals don’t deserve to die, no matter what th – anyone – might think. ’
the slip comes from remembering asō seiji… they had murdered so many people, and still… conan had tried so hard ( and failed ) to save them.
( he has to close his eyes against the sudden memory of heat, and the same haunting tune playing in his ears. it’s a failure that still tastes bitter in his mouth, ash and smoke from the fire choking his lungs. shinichi thinks, for however long he’ll be alive, he’d never listen to moonlight sonata in the same way ever again ).
kid:
A laugh bubbles up to KID’s lips but doesn’t quite make it out of his mouth ( he could not say why, himself; relief? exasperation? he doesn’t know from where the laughter rises but he refuses to let it breach the surface ), and he wonders for a moment what the detective had been about to say before ‘ anyone ’ — but he lets him have his secrets, in the end. The thief lets only an amused breath escape, rocking his weight slightly, as though to leave, because this is already too much exposed in a single confrontation and he should leave before he lets himself slip too far. Or farther; maybe this is already too much.
But when the little detective closes his eyes, the thief holds himself still, because all of the sudden it is not the hilarity of his own possible doom that lingers over his thoughts. Rather, abject horror sours his amusement because if Conan goes after the crows at his heists, if he tips the balance so carefully maintained in the heists and manages to corner them…
Snake may be incompetent, but he’s still got BITE, and wild things are always most vicious with their backs to a wall.
( Meitantei is brilliant.               But so was Toichi, before he burned. )
“ Mm, good to know. But don’t hold your breath, ” KID says breezily, tearing his mind away from the old, old memory. “ I don’t plan on dying anytime soon. Try not to jump at shadows too much in the meantime, tantei-kun ~ ” He waits and makes sure to meet the detective’s gaze as he speaks, trying to convey the unspoken warning; just because he’d nudged a bit of confirmation about the… dangers associated with his moonlighting, doesn’t mean he wants Conan diving headfirst into it.
This is KID’s territory, and he’s got first dibs, so to speak. His way is a bit of a balancing act, trying to slowly key his critics in on what’s going on without alarming them or alarming Them, but maybe with this step, he can get a little closer to that end goal.
With a flick of the wrist, he reveals a grey marble in the palm of his hand. He lets it slip from his fingers, and when it hits the ground, it erupts in a cloud of smoke — and by the time that clears, KID’s gone.

heya long time no see! remember that time i made a request but the requests were closed?, welp now that they're open again, im here to re-send mine as i promised owo; how would rantaro, kokichi, shuichi, kaito and kiibo react when they see their (S/O) escaping from her execution, and when everything is over, she appears behind them all tired and exhausted saying "did ya' miss me?"
Tumblr media
HeY GUYS, sorry for the long absence lmao, but it’s one in the morning and I need some ANGST. Anyways, I’m glad you’re back hun! I was really excited to do this ask!
~ Mod Hiyoko
Amami, Ouma, Saihara, Momota and Kiibo’s Fem! S/O escaping her execution!
Rantaro Amami
There was a dark aura in the trial grounds as everyone’s chatter continued on. Rantaro had a feeling since they first exited the elevator that you were hiding something, and as the trial went on, the sinking feeling in his stomach only got worse.
He didn’t really care so much how or when you committed the murder, he just wanted to know why.  He wouldn’t even have imagined his dear S/O committing such an atrocious act.
You began to grow more and more nervous as you felt his stone gaze beat into you… Like he was staring into your soul. Finally, you just admitted it was you.
Rantaro let out a sigh. Definitely not one of relief. More like a weight he had been carrying was now off his shoulders, but in the worst way possible.
It was a particularly messy kill, so people didn’t have too hard of a time believing it was you. The vote was cast swiftly and everyone stared at the screen as your portrait appeared. You were the Blackened.
Your classmates looked at you in a mixture of pity and remorse. They demanded you explain your actions in minute detail, but the only voice you could register was that of your boyfriend’s.
“Why?” Rantaro asked you simply. “Why did you do this?”
“B-because…” It was hard to speak with everyone’s gazes upon you, but you managed to choke out your explanation, and everyone appeared satisfied, aside from a few snide remarks from Miu and Kokichi, but Rantaro shut them up with a harsh glare.
You couldn’t tell if he was disappointed, sad, angry, or a mix of the three, but all you felt in that moment was shame so heavy that you felt like you deserved whatever Monokuma had in store for you.
Rantaro approached you, and you braced yourself for harsh words, but instead he gently wrapped his arms around you in a loving embrace. His hugs were always the best, but this one was tighter than usual, and he was slightly trembling.
“I love you S/O. I’m so, so sorry.”
He tried to grab you again when you were dragged off to face your execution, but there was nothing he could do. He felt empty. The anger and depression wouldn’t sink in until much later, all he could think about was that you were gone. Or else he thought.
“Did ya miss me?”
He stared at you, mouth agape, but he nodded in response. He gently placed his hand on your cheek and caressed it with his thumb before leaning in to kiss you.
 “Yeah, I did.”
Kokichi Ouma
For once, Kokichi almost lost his composure. He knew it was you from the very beginning, but a part of him thought maybe, just maybe there was a chance he could be proven wrong.
He kept his arms carelessly rested behind his head, he had the same mischievous grin, and he still toyed with your classmates like it was all a game to him. But inside, he was panicking. He finally found someone he could trust, and she had to go and kill someone. He felt betrayed, but the common sense in him told him not to jump to any conclusions just yet.
To your surprise, Kokichi barely acknowledged you at all throughout the entire trial. But then again, you knew him long enough to know that he probably had connected all of the dots long beforehand. Was he pissed off? Did he not care? There was no way for you to know.
Everyone else came to the same conclusion he had, and trial ended with you being voted as the Blackened. Since you were dating Kokichi, everyone had assumed that you were as nasty as him by default, so no one was really surprised.
“Why did you do it?” It wasn’t Kokichi who had asked this, but Shuichi. Your boyfriend was still actively ignoring you.
“I…” You explained to the best of your abilities. Your motivations came to a bit of a shock to the others. They expected something more… Sadistic.
You knew every second drew you closer to death, and you wanted to break the silence between Kokichi and yourself before you left him for good. You spoke his name, but he cut you off before you could say anything else.
“Wait!” He turned towards Monokuma with a desperate look on his face that surprised even you.
“Execute me instead! You want someone to die, right? Kill me in her place!”
You stood there blankly, unable to process what was going on. Kokichi, who had been ignoring you for the whole trial, who hadn’t even reacted to your confession, was now pleading for your life.
Monokuma just laughed at him. The black and white bear pulled a lever and the chain gripped your neck in a tight hold and yanked you backwards.
Kokichi screamed out your name as you disappeared. Shortly after, you reappeared on the large screen, and everyone watched as you withstood indescribable torture. Kokichi couldn’t even watch the end. He turned away, a dark shadow covering his expression. You were gone. The only person who had ever truly loved him. The Mastermind would be put through hell. He would see to it personally.
There was a tap on his shoulder, and he whipped around to see your triumphant smirk.
“Miss me?”
“W-what?”
Not much time was spent before he tackled you in a hug. His heart pounded in his chest, and he fought to hold back tears. His stance on the Mastermind still stood. They would pay in their blood for what happened to you, but that would have to wait awhile. Kokichi didn’t plan on letting you go any time soon.
Shuichi Saihara
Shuichi couldn’t believe it. It was Kaede all over again, but this time worse. At that point, he was convinced God wanted to see him suffer.
It hurt him immensely to do so, but as the Ultimate Detective, it was his job to root out the truth and save his fellow classmates from impending doom… Even at the cost of his lover’s life.
The entire time he followed the trail towards you, he felt the lump in his throat getting ever bigger. He knew without a doubt you were the killer, but he couldn’t bring himself to flat out say it. You both made direct eye contact, and though your lips were in a straight line, and your eyebrows rested comfortably like you could care less about the world, your eyes spoke to him in a way that said “it’s okay. You can say it.”
And so he did.
“…and my deductions have lead me to believe that… S/O is the killer.”
Everyone gasped. Partly at the fact that he thought you were the killer, but also because he could accuse his girlfriend of murder so calmly. It was a whirlwind of emotions in the trial room, but no one’s shock could outmatch the pure despair you and Shuichi felt in that moment.
Before he voted, Shuichi insisted you explain your actions, and internally begged that you at least killed them on accident, and not in an act of cold blood.
After you had explained everything with tears in your eyes threatening to spill over, everyone cast their vote, and all that was left to do was wait.
Shuichi didn’t waste anymore time on talking, tears fell from his eyes like a waterfall and he solemnly walked up to you and pulled you into his arms. He didn’t even care why you did it. He was about to lose the most important person in his life, and it was going to be shown on a huge t.v. like it was some sort of joke.
“I’m so sorry Shuichi.” You felt like you had to say something, something to calm his nerves, and to atone for the emotional strain he was put through, but he just shook his head and squeezed you tighter.
“No, I’m sorry. I should’ve prevented this from happening, I should’ve-”
“Let’s give it everything we’ve got! IIIIIIIIIT’S, PUNISHMENT TIME!”
In the blink of an eye, you were ripped from Shuichi’s grasp and pulled onto the execution grounds. It happened so fast Shuichi couldn’t even react. He just watched in silent agony as you went through your death. It was torture. There was no way he would be able to bounce back from this. But… maybe God didn’t hate him as much as he thought.
“Ya miss me?”
Of course he would ask a million questions once you got out of there, but at that moment all Shuichi did was hold you while the sobbing started up again.
Kaito Momota
Kaito was yelling throughout the entire trial. It wasn’t unusual for him to be vocal during trials, but this time there was unadulterated anger and frustration lacing his words as everyone began to accuse you of the murder.
“W-What the hell are you guys saying?! S/O would never kill anyone! Shuichi-”
But even his sidekick wasn’t there with him this time. Kaito desperately looked over at you, inwardly begging you to show any sign of innocence, but the look of guilt in your eyes said it all.
Even after everyone had voted and you were revealed to be the Blackened, he was still in denial. He tried to run at Monokuma, yelling various insults and curse words while Shuichi and Kiibo both held him back.
Nobody would ever catch him cry, but the sadness in his eyes was enough.
“S/O, why?”
You explained everything, expecting Kaito to be furious with you. He was furious, all right, but not with you; with the Mastermind.
He panicked when Monokuma announced that it was time for your punishment, and ran over to you, wrapping you in a protective embrace. But the chain grasped your torso, and even Kaito’s strong hold wasn’t enough to keep you from being yanked backwards.
He watched your execution, gritting his teeth the entire time.
“DAMN IT!” He yelled, pounding his fist on a nearby surface. It wasn’t fair. You shouldn’t have been forced to kill. He was going to stop this killing game. For you, and for-
His thoughts were interrupted by a voice coming from behind him.
“Did ya miss me?”Surprisingly, his shock didn’t last long before he pulled you into a hug. Like I said, nobody would ever see him cry… But at that moment, he was pretty damn close.
K1-B0
Kiibo couldn’t understand it. He couldn’t wrap his head around how you could get yourself in this position. Whether you killed on purpose or by accident, he was just… dumbfounded.
The entire trial he was silent. Normally he would chime in, as eager to solve the murder and get back to his life as everyone else. But now he could only watch in depressed silence as the trial continued on. You had told him beforehand exactly what happened, and though Kiibo did have his own sense of justice… he still couldn’t send his lover to her death.
But once the trial came to a close and your face appeared on the large t.v. signifying your guilt, his silence came to an end. There was a flood of emotions he didn’t even know he could feel. Sadness at your impending death, fear at what said death would hold in store for you, and anger that you were forced into this situation in the first place.
Everyone asked why you did what you did, Kiibo included, and you answered honestly. Monokuma’s shrill and ugly voice rang out, saying it was time for your punishment. You ran to Kiibo to share one last hug, and kissed him gently on his cheek, apologizing for leaving him. Kiibo assured you he held no hard feelings, and himself apologized for letting it come to this.
He broke down in tears when the chain yanked you backwards into the black abyss; into the trial grounds fit only for the Ultimate (Talent) herself.
You two were always together… How could this happen? You swore to protect each other, and he lost you. Throughout your execution, he was thinking of ways he could destroy the Mastermind and end the killing game. Kiibo couldn’t allow anyone else to die.
He didn’t even notice the amazed gasps coming from his classmates as you stumbled up behind him, at least, not until he heard your voice.
“Did you miss me?”
“S-S/O?”
Kiibo wasted no time in rushing over to you, wrapping his arms around you, which, needless to say, was a little painful, but at the time you didn’t care; you simply hugged him back and cried with him. As emotional as this moment was, you would have a lot of explaining to do later… As well as a very pissed off Monokuma to deal with.

V3 Boys (Getting Embarrassed Infront Of S/O)
um, can I get a imagine of the v3 boys embarrassing themselves in front of there s/o? and the s/o is laughing at them. how do the boys react? please and thank you!
First V3 BOYS since opening the ask box! I’ll add in different ways to get embrassment, as per usual! Haha!
Tumblr media
Kiibo
Did you know? Robots can get embrassed, they can make mistakes like anyone else can! S-So laughing at him, like that... s-stop it! I-It’s so mean- robophobic- gaaah!
Kiibo has... well, you found him watching “Bug Rangers” in the middle of the day, singing along to the theme song- adorably might I add... his face went bright red- as you chuckled at his reaction than the implications here...
He was on the verge of scolding you for being so mean about his interests, then on the verge of... crying, if he actually did have tears...! *Hic...!* D-Don’t laugh at him like thaaaat!
... Oh, your boyfriend? Now letting out choked little sobs as he says it’s not his fault the show is pure genius, well... you should have known Kiibo be emotional about a show this dear to him...
You have to explain you were only joking around... and watching the finale with him, he was right! It... is a pretty good show.
Shuichi Saihara
You were out to this cafe that Shuichi recommended for the both of you, he thought the coffee tasted good so you both brought something for yourselves and made small talk with eachother with a few laughs and chuckles...
When the order came by Shuichi had gotten too relaxed, sipped at his burning hot coffee and screamed in the highest pitched “UUUWEEEH” imaginable, he almost dropped the cup but put it down... before he could spill it over himself to make a bigger mess.
You giggled at the noise he made “UWEH?” that’s- how, who does that?
Shuichi apparently, who pulls his hat down over his head his face beating up as he silently begs using his eyes that you don’t dare tell a soul.
You kiss his cheek. “It was cute.” His blush intensfies, you get on with your day.
Ryoma Hoshi
Ryoma Hoshi? Embrassing himself? Wow, he thought it was impossible but here he was... his hair a mess after pulling his hat off for the first time in what seemed like decades, it was puffy and all over the place. It was laughable, two tiny messes of hair stood up just like cat-ears.
Ryoma never had the insatiable need to die more than right now, you were laughing- holding his hat above your head on the verge of tears from laughing so damn hard.
“It’s not that funny.” Hmnnnnggggbnh,,, not like he admit it... but he thought he couldn’t feel shame anymore, guess he’s wrong. He seriously wants to just jump into a hole, never ever come back out.
“I-It’s like cat-ears! Oh my god, let me take a picture Ryoma!” You take our your phone, taking some pictures of Ryoma trying to snatch his hat back only getting a sigh of annoyance (and utter embarrassment) back in return.
“Hmph... yer’ sense of humor’s pretty dry, isn’t it? Teasing ’ a guy like me just for the thrill of it.” Ryoma couldn’t even pull his hat down over his face to cover that faint red blush that cast over his features, heh... he still has a ways to go.
Kaito Momota
Kaito Momota Luminary of the Stars doesn’t make mistakes! He makes happy accidents, this is a GOD DAMN happy accidents....!
So... S-So when he makes the small mistake of letting you into his room, yes, him room which has a teddy bear in it- which you actually noticed he tells you he’s NOT sleeping with toys still! He- He’s a god damn YOUNG MAN but he’s not a kid!
You hold the bear delicately in your hands noticing how it’s in a spacesuit of it’s own, dressed as a tiny astronaut- it’s kind of old too from what you can tell.
“So you won’t mind if I throw him out the window?” You ask, grinning when he violently reacts.
“DON’T DO THAT TO MR BUZZ LIGHTYEAR! H-HE CAN’T FLY! H-He hasta’ use a spaceship for a reason, y’know?”
When you laugh- Kaito swipes the bear from your hands and tugs him close, grumbling as he goes to explain you can’t just diss his first EVER assistant ever! Even if... they are a snuggly soft bear, screw off!
... He’s left in a grumbling mood for the rest of the day, kind of pissed off from what you can tell, did... you actually anger him by dissing a stuffed bear? You’ll need to apologize later... to both him and Buzz Lightyear.
Rantaro Amami
His makeup. Rantaro usually knew how to handle it... he did it every day of his life, decided he needed to buy the mascara that doesn’t run that gets wet later, he used it all up so that be later- right now he’d improvise, it’s not like he’s the type to cry!
... He’s the type of person to get a bucket thrown at him as a prank from Kokichi Ouma, a bucket filled with water, it was almost hilarious how quickly he saw ink dripping down his face- you were already snorting and laughing at his face right now, he could only imagine how silly he looked.
So he laughed along, asking you to take a picture- he’s brought more make-up along this is easy to fix. But wow! The one day, who would of thought right?
Maybe he’s the Ultimate Unlucky student, it’s not that big of a deal! You got a laugh out of it, didn’t you? That makes him happy enough, haha! Happy enough to forgive Kokichifor throwing water on him, he’s all wet now too...
Wait don’t take that out of context-!
Gonta Gokuhara
“Embrassing”? What’s embrassing to Gonta’s standards well... actually, that would be... this! Miu’s pickup lines strike again, he got told they be a “really good way of making you happy!” So he tried using them on you...
Only to be told that he was conplimenting dirty and wrong places, his face flushed and he was instantly apologizing for the sins he commuted which stop him from being a gentlemen!
You were laughing all the way trough trying to get it through his innocent yet thick skull that it wasn’t his fault nor was it something to apologize so much over.
“G-Gonta can’t ever become a gentlemen now although, S-S/O! O-Only way to redeem Gonta is apologizing... Gonta sorry! R-Really sorry! H-He still doesn’t get why the number 69 is bad... but-!”
While choking on your own laughter you accept Gonta’s apology and comfort him, it’s hilarious how pure your boyfriend is... now time to wait to get your revenge on Miu for making Gonta feel such agony.
Kokichi Ouma
There’s no explanation other than this, Kokichi Ouma laughed so hard at a joke MIU IRUMA made to the point he fell out of his chair. It was a crappy joke at that one, something something- we’re keeping this PG!
You began to giggle under your breath, but Kokichi carefully picked himself up trying to make it look like a pure lil’ lie! “Wow! That joke was soooo bad, I fell out of my chair cringing! Neeheehee!”
Yet you still giggled at him, underestimating him, are you? Well... he knows a way to shut you up. Of course he pouts, glares as hard as he can at Miu for ruining his reputation like this... Then goes to make his next move! Heehee.
Kokichi moves in to kiss you on the lips to hold you in place, right, Miu’s still in the room to see this occur and cringes at the entire show infront of her- but that’s not important... he leans in, close to your ear- grinning ear to ear.
“Just to prove Miu’s can make all the dirty jokes in the world and yet she’ll never get some.” He sticks his tongue out at her, revenge at it’s finest.
Korekiyo Shinguuji
Sometimes even he doesn’t understand how his own complicated mask works, it was yet another day of observing you, eating breakfast together... yes, you were quite stunning then, he didn’t notice such an obvious oversight.
“Korekiyo?” You were snorting, he didn’t know why. Well, that is until he looked down to find himself pouring burning hot tea on himself, his mask zipper completely closed, ah. His pain tolerance was higher than he expected, honestly that felt quite nostalgic.
“... Is something the matter?” And it’s all over himself now, Korekiyo puts the tea down. “I don’t believe there’s anything that needs to be discussed.”
“... K... Korekiyo it looks like you should go get a change of clothes- pfft- oh my god-“
“Everything is fine.” No it’s not, but he’s not admitting a thing. Despite how harshly you try to explain how that might stain... you can’t convince him, what tea? He doesn’t know about any tea, oh my, he is rather parched although- look at that, some totally fine tea he wasn’t pouring onto himself.
Nothing is wrong here.

Danganronpa V3 Commentary: Part 6.10
Be aware that this is not a blind playthrough! This will contain spoilers for the entire game, regardless of the part of the game I’m commenting on. A major focus of this commentary is to talk about all of the hints and foreshadowing of events that are going to happen and facts that are going to be revealed in the future of the story. It is emphatically not intended for someone experiencing the game for their first time.
Last time in trial 6, everything became terrible in a hopefully-mostly-deliberate way as Keebo took over as protagonist. Tsumugi pandered to the audience by trying to twist the story to be all about them and not this story’s actual goddamn cast, then completely forgot about that moments later as she forced an arbitrarily cruel final vote on the students that has nothing to do with actual hope and despair, apparently Kaito’s efforts in trial 5 suddenly mean nothing because it turns out the audience is totally okay with unfair executions after the mastermind broke the rules, and Keebo kept spouting a familiar meaningless buzzwordy hope that didn’t address any of his friends’ actual reasons for being in despair, which the audience lapped up because they’re morons while Keebo utterly failed to consider that maybe what they want from him isn’t actually a good thing.
Keebo’s already chosen to become the first arbitrary pointless sacrifice of the vote, and the Mass Panic Debate we just finished was supposedly him trying to inspire one of the others to do the same, even though he wasn’t even shooting his hope at them.
“Nekomaru”:  “Even if you won’t give up, as long as you don’t sacrifice someone el—”
Not giving up is the definition of hope! Doing anything other than that should not be necessary for hope to “win”, you arbitrary fucking murderer!
But one way or another, whether due to Keebo’s nonsensical Hope Bullet efforts or not (I’d very much like to think not), Maki chooses to sacrifice herself.
Maki:  “If Keebo and I sacrifice ourselves… then Shuichi and Himiko live, right? Then they can… survive this absurd killing game…”
Of course it would be her. Her backstory meant that she’d never cared all that much about her own survival or her own suffering, so if she can die to let at least Shuichi and Himiko live, then that’s no real loss, right? Kaito only helped so much with her sense of self-worth… and maybe his influence has been dampened right now because of all the bullshit Tsumugi has been spouting.
Shuichi:  “Maki…?”
There’s a very subtle wavering to Shuichi’s voice here beneath his surprise. He can’t bear the thought of losing her too, and it’s this pain that’s going to lead to him figuring everything out and fighting back.
Maki:  “I don’t want this killing game to end with despair. That would just… piss me off.”
Tsumugi:  “Even if you only feel that way cuz I wrote you like that? Just like with Kaito…”
Tsumugi’s still bullshitting about the Kaito part, but otherwise what she’s saying is not entirely wrong. Despair being bad is self-evident and you don’t need to be written a specific way to think that. But the feeling of needing to “defeat” despair is something that’s still a part of Maki being manipulated, not by the way she was originally written, but by that Flashback Light in chapter 5. Maki still can’t quite see that to its fullest extent, despite having long since realised that the main point of that Flashback Light was to manipulate her into killing Kokichi.
Maki:  “Even then… I’ll choose that ending if it means I can kill you. Even if I have to sacrifice my life, I will kill you!”
Now that’s something that’s how Maki’s always been written. Deal with problems that have no easy solution by killing them, and definitely kill the big evil mastermind no matter what you have to sacrifice to do so. Maki Roll, can’t you see that this is exactly like what you were trying to do for the first half of Kaito’s trial?
This would at least be Tsumugi’s writing backfiring on her, if this “punishment” she was going to receive was actually death. But since it’s not, she’s quite happy with Maki choosing this, and guh.
“Makiiii”
“my darling assassin T_T”
“That’s my Maki.”
“Assassiiiiin”
Maki has fans. Her fans seem somewhat possessive of her (although at least she doesn’t have the total sicko that Shuichi has). It also seems that some of them are hung up on the idea that she’s an assassin and don’t see her as so much more than that, as if the only reason they like her is a shallow “hurr durr schoolgirl assassin hot”, rather than any of the many things that have been compelling and interesting about her character and her arc. She deserves so much better than this.
“ALL OF THESE TEARS”
“;_; i’m gonna cry…”
At least a few of them are actually having meaningful, human reactions to this – a character they love is going to sacrifice herself for her friends! This is sad! …or, well, it would be if the sacrifice was at all meaningful and not completely arbitrary, but, you know.
“Another hope loop?”
This might finally be a vague allusion to other seasons we haven’t seen. I can kind of imagine a “hope loop” becoming the fandom term for one particular way in which the meaningless arbitrary hope ending was once resolved, but it doesn’t sound like it’s referring to DR1 or 2 specifically.
“Shuichi looks yummy <3”
I’m going to keep giving you updates on this one person just so you can keep seeing how much of an absolute creep they are.
Tsumugi:  “I told you over and over there’s nothing for you out there.”
Keebo:  “No, once the audience sees this ending, I’m sure they’ll help us.”
Oh, poor naïve Keebo, thinking that the audience is a force for good and actually gives a fuck about any of his friends when they’ve been watching them die. When they’ve been doing this for fifty-three seasons and keep wanting more. This ending right now is not meaningfully different from any of the previous ones and is not going to change anything about the audience’s behaviour at all, Keebo.
Shuichi:  “It’s because of hope that this whole thing is happening!”
But Shuichi gets it! He’s figured it out! I also love the emotion in his voice here. All of Shuichi’s (English) voice acting in this last part of the trial we’re entering is just fantastic.
The music used for Shuichi’s Rebuttal Showdown here is Clair de Lune again, which is lovely. It’s like that’s become less Kaede’s song and more just a song for Shuichi’s sadness over losing his friends.
It’s a neat twist that the last Rebuttal Showdown is against the game’s actual protagonist. This is possibly the easiest one in the whole game, with Shuichi’s words coming in completely horizontal, unmoving lines. He’s just explaining the plain truth of the matter. He’s not wrong and he’s not trying to get in anyone’s way; he’s about to fix this whole ridiculous mess.
Keebo:  (Shuichi… why? Is this the power of despair? Or…)
Yes, Keebo, despair is clearly so powerful and so evil that it dares to make Shuichi not talk like hope is the best thing ever. It couldn’t possibly be that Shuichi’s actually making complete sense and isn’t in despair any more and you should listen to him.
Buuut, Keebo’s only bullet (or, well, blade) is still just “hope”, so he still thinks that’s the only possible solution to this situation.
Keebo:  “Despair takes everything from people! Even their strength to press onward! That’s why it’s not possible for despair to be better!”
Keebo, you absolute moron, this isn’t about which one is better! Obviously Shuichi knows that hope is a better feeling to have than despair, because he’s not an idiot! But no matter what Tsumugi’s trying to make it sound like, this isn’t about proving any kind of point like it was in DR1; this is about what happens next. This is about whether the outcome of the vote, regardless of which meaningless label is slapped on it, is something we’re actually okay with, including the fact that the killing game will keep happening if we do this.
“Shuichi is the cycle of despair?”
“What are you saying, hat boy?”
“What if Shuichi is the mastermind?”
“You’re slipping up, detective.”
“Fire, Keebo! I’ll allow it!”
Aaaaaand the audience has suddenly completely stopped caring about Shuichi as a character because he dared to say a bad word about hope. This is again not remotely what an actual reasonable, human audience that’s been enjoying this story up until now would ever do, and this time it can’t just be the cherry-picked minority of despair lovers, because this is the people who are rooting for “hope”. A reaction something like “well, he’s kind of got a point, but I still want more killing games…” would be reasonable, but not just immediately denouncing him the moment he questions them. Did they not even care about Shuichi at all during the five chapters they’ve seen of him and the arc he’s had?
Shuichi:  “The people watching probably feel the same way… They want hope, too.”
Oh, Shuichi, you are giving them far too much credit. You’re assuming that the “hope” they’re obsessed with is actual hope that will inspire them in their daily lives. It sure would be realistic and understandable and relatable if that was the actual way the narrative was portraying this, but it really isn’t.
Shuichi:  “Even if it’s fiction, everyone wants to feel hope… It gives them… courage.”
That should be how this works. And I love that Shuichi clearly understands this on a personal level. Now would be a very relevant time to remind everyone that Shuichi’s Likes in the report card are listed as “Novels”. Which means that, most likely, he always used fiction to give himself courage, especially when he had so little courage on his own in the first place! Shuichi understands better than any of these one-dimensional morons in the audience exactly what gaining real hope from fiction really feels like!
Shuichi:  “While they ignore all the tragedies that we had to suffer to get there!”
Keebo:  “Shuichi, that’s—”
Monokuma:  “Then let’s start the Voting Time!”
Hah, Monokuma sure does jump in quick. He’s afraid of Shuichi pointing out what’s really going on here and how real all their suffering is and making the audience realise that maybe they shouldn’t actually want this after all, isn’t he.
Shuichi halts them to ask what the “punishment” for this vote will be, because he’s already figured out what it is. If we’d been playing as him, we’d have seen plenty of inner monologue of him slowly realising this and piecing it together as Tsumugi rambled on and on. But since we’re not seeing inside his head right now, all Keebo has seen is Shuichi being almost completely quiet and then suddenly jumping in with a fully-formed theory explaining exactly what’s going on and why this vote is bad. Shuichi really does look like a hero from the outside.
Shuichi:  “That’s what Rantaro was talking about.”
Rantaro:  “You wanted this killing game, so you have to win no matter what. …No matter what.”
Shuichi:  “Something similar must have happened in the last killing game, and he was given a choice. He sacrificed himself… and was forced to participate again.”
See, Rantaro wasn’t the only survivor of his killing game. There were two actual survivors who got to escape into the outside world just like Shuichi and Himiko hypothetically would here. Rantaro just sacrificed himself to allow for that. (In my headcanon, those two survivors were both girls and kind of reminded Rantaro of his sisters and that’s why he chose to do that.) It’s still a stretch to think that Rantaro would ever have thought of that as “wanting” this killing game like his message said, though, so I still think that line was mostly there just to make chapter 4’s opening stinger mysterious.
But man, spare a thought for Rantaro’s two friends who survived and escaped, dreading to watch Rantaro go through this again while having forgotten about them, but watching anyway because they have to know what happens to him… and then seeing him be the very first one to die. That has to have been awful. I hope that when Shuichi, Maki and Himiko do escape, they find those two and every other pair of survivors from each past killing game and start some kind of big therapy group to deal with their trauma together and share stories of their lost friends and reassure themselves that they’re all still real.
Shuichi:  “Tsumugi will still be the mastermind, Keebo will still represent the viewers… and Maki will be the new Ultimate Survivor. The killing game will begin again.”
Even if Maki wouldn’t necessarily die in this outcome, the fact that she’d lose her memories of everything in this killing game and forget about Kaito and Shuichi and be reset back to the guarded, lonely, self-loathing assassin she was at the beginning would still be awful and unacceptable. Especially since Kaito was one-in-a-million and the next game probably wouldn’t have anyone willing to help her out of it again.
It’s a little odd to think that Tsumugi would still be the mastermind? I always assumed Tsumugi wasn’t the mastermind of Rantaro’s game, simply because if she then also masterminded this game as well, it’d ruin the mystery for the audience. Unless she usually cosplays as some made-up character and this is the first time she’s ever played as herself (or at least someone who looks like herself and superficially shares her nerdiness but is less terrible and murdery).
“Izuru”:  “Then it’s despair? You’re going to choose despair to end the killing game? …How boring.”
“Celeste”:  “But this is fine. Our audience loves despair, so this will please them too.”
Will it? I mean, maybe it would if it were actual despair, since there’s emotional investment you can get from that even if it’s nothing but painful emotions. But what’s actually going to happen with the “despair” outcome of this vote is simply Shuichi, Maki and Himiko (and apparently Tsumugi) continuing to live isolated, boring lives in the academy without any more killings. That’s not a despair ending, that’s a boredom ending. Precisely the kind of thing the audience shouldn’t want.
Keebo:  “Then… hope has to win this game, too. If we continue to win for hope, then this killing game will surely end someday!”
Keebo, dude. You’re going to continue doing the thing that Shuichi has just explained is exactly what causes more killing games to happen… and then you’re just going to hope that eventually they’ll stop happening anyway? You are not being very smart right now. If you’re going to hope for something to happen, you should also at least act in a way that might help make it come true, otherwise your hope is useless.
Shuichi:  “When Maki said she was going to sacrifice herself just now, I thought… Why? So many of our friends have sacrificed their lives. Why Maki? Why now? Why do we have to go through it again…? The sorrow of losing Kaede… and Kaito… Why do we have to feel that sadness over and over and over again…? Why do we have to bear that burden…?”
I love Shuichi here so much. I love that he’s realised what this means and that it’s cruel and unfair and wrong.
Shuichi:  “Well, I don’t care how much the audience wants it, I’m not gonna feel that way anymore! I don’t want anyone to feel that way anymore!”
I love that he’s realised that the audience wants this from him and how fucked-up that is! I love that he’s thinking that not just for himself, but for every hypothetical character in future seasons who’d ever have to go through this same pain if they don’t end this right here!
I just… really wish that that actually seemed like what the in-universe audience wanted at all. Some people were sad when Maki offered to sacrifice herself, but not a single person was thinking “oh man Shuichi’s going to be devastated to lose another best friend” and empathising with the pain Shuichi’s feeling here and enjoying doing so in that immersed, in-story way. Instead, they just immediately stopped seeing him as a person the moment he spoke out against them and their precious “hope”.
The thing is, I’m still enjoying Shuichi’s emotional pain here! Of course I am! Because I care about him and I’m empathising with him, and all of this is making me want him to succeed and get what he wants and never have to feel like this any more, even as I’m enjoying that he’s feeling this way right now.
And, see, while the in-universe audience are obviously inherently more twisted than an out-universe audience because the people they’re watching aren’t really fictional and they know this, that doesn’t have to automatically make them this kind of one-dimensional asshole who can’t even empathise with the characters or engage with this like it’s a meaningful story at all. Things could still have been made to work while having them basically respond to Shuichi and his story like those of us on the other side of the real fourth wall.
Enjoying actual genuine fiction requires suspension of disbelief, compartmentalising away and ignoring the knowledge that it’s all made-up, so that you can get invested and care about what happens. So in a similar way, it might be just about believable if we could be shown that this in-universe audience has instead been suspending their knowledge that it’s real, compartmentalising away and trying to ignore the fact that real people are suffering, so that they can still enjoy this and keep watching despite knowing that people – uhhh, characters, definitely not real people – are going to die. Then they could have been reacting to this approximately like a real person watching genuine fiction would (you know, with actual investment in and empathy for the characters), until Shuichi blows the lid off their wilful ignorance right here and forces them to confront their awfulness.
Shuichi:  “Even if this is fiction, even if we’re all fictional… The pain in my heart is real! The sadness I feel when I lose the people I love is real!”
I am so, so glad that he’s realised this! This is one of my favourite moments in this trial and completely restored all the faith first-time-me had lost during all the ridiculousness of last post. This is exactly what we need to be talking about and really should never have stopped talking about – the fact that of course they’re still real people regardless of how fake their memories were. They still really felt all that pain, and they still really meant everything they did for their friends, and they still really died, regardless of the “writers” that were sometimes pulling strings behind the scenes.
And I adore the way Shuichi calls them “the people I love”. He’s not talking about specifically romantic love here, because he doesn’t have to be. Of course he loved them anyway regardless of what kind of love it was; they were his friends and they gave him all of his strength and meant everything to him. If anyone tries to use this line as proof that Shuichi must have had romantic feelings for Kaito as well, they’re completely missing the point. Using the word “love” in a platonic sense will always melt my heart and it’s especially so in this context here.
Although, while Shuichi is using this pain of his to prove to himself that he’s still meaningfully real, I do wish there was a little bit of time spent on the realisation that, since they all must have felt the same way as him, his friends must have been real, too. Being deceived into thinking they were just lies was what caused Shuichi to fall into despair, and there’s no way he’d have been able to climb out of that despair and talk so passionately about losing his friends if he didn’t truly believe once again that their lives were worth exactly as much as a “real” person’s. He has definitely figured this out by now, but it’s kind of a shame he never directly mentions it.
Shuichi:  “I won’t forgive this game that treats us like toys. And if this is what the world wants… then I reject that world! I’ll fight the world that inflicts suffering for entertainment!”
Shuichi is being such a hero and Kaede and Kaito would be so proud to see him like this!
And it’s still inconceivable that seeing him like this isn’t what the audience wants. This is a far more inspiring and meaningful story than any of the nonsense Keebo has been spouting. They should be cheering Shuichi on, not Keebo – even if that means cheering Shuichi on against themselves.
“What are you saying, detective?”
“Forget about Shuichi.”
But nope. The audience doesn’t care about him. Now that he’s speaking out against them, they’d rather just drop him entirely.
“You’re in despair, right?”
“It’s okay to feel despair sometimes…”
Yes, clearly the only reason Shuichi is saying this is because he’s being controlled by that super-evil force known as “despair”, not because he’s right.
“C’mon, Keebo! Attack!”
“hurry up and refute it!”
“Force hope through!”
And of course, they just want Keebo to yell more words about hope at Shuichi, because doing that will totally change his mind and make him think inflicting suffering for entertainment is okay. Yelling emptily about hope can achieve anything, right?
“The big reveal, at last.”
Uhh, no? What does this person even think the “reveal” is supposed to be – the fact that these characters aren’t actually fictional and that watching them suffer for entertainment is fucked up? That’s not a reveal, that’s something that should have been apparent from the start but everyone has been wilfully ignoring. (And it’s something that everyone should now be forced to confront whether they like it or not, but apparently almost nobody is.)
“mmm… shuichi’s eyes ^q^”
This “fan” of Shuichi’s is still here. And they still don’t actually give a fuck about him and haven’t been paying attention to anything he’s been saying or feeling at all.
“Why have we been doing this…?”
You! You, right there, are the one sensible actual human being in this whole stupid audience! This is what everyone should be thinking right now – realising that Shuichi has a goddamn point and that this whole practice is vile and that if they actually care about any of these characters at all then they should want what Shuichi wants, which is to end all this and never have another killing game again!
“something’s different, right?”
“Are they blaming us?”
These ones are more ambiguous, but it is possible that these two people are also vaguely starting to realise that what they’re doing is not okay. Maybe.
Tsumugi:  “It doesn’t matter what you do. No matter what a fictional character does or says, it’s just fiction to the outside world.”
See… based on the audience’s current comments, it’s really seeming like this is actually true, in this world. Those three just now are the only comments during this part that give any sense of people actually listening to Shuichi’s words. The overwhelming majority are like the ones I quoted at the beginning, complaining about Shuichi’s outlook and wanting Keebo to “fix” things for them.
Shuichi:  “I… refuse to vote.”
Tsumugi:  “Refuse to vote…?”
Keebo:  “Monokuma said that if we don’t vote, we’ll be killed for breaking the rules!”
Shuichi:  “Yes, I know. That’s why I’m doing it.”
And here’s this rule which has been vaguely a thing in the background of all the Danganronpas but was pointedly highlighted at the beginning of almost every trial in this one, making it kind of obvious it’d somehow be important later on. It’s also quite relevant that Monokuma’s declarations of this rule always explicitly said that not voting would result in death, not just “punishment”, because it means Tsumugi can’t suddenly pull a loophole and pretend this still just means they get forced into another killing game.
(Although that’s only assuming that the audience still cares about her following the rules, which, ha fucking ha.)
Shuichi:  “If this ends without a single vote being cast for hope or despair… The audience would hate it. They’d never accept an ending like that… So I abstain! I refuse to give the outside world the ending it wants!”
I appreciate Shuichi’s determination and willingness to give his life to end this killing game for good and give a huge fuck-you to the audience… but honestly, it’s kind of flimsy that this would actually achieve that. It’s hard to believe that, over fifty-three seasons, there haven’t been a few kind-of-disappointing endings here and there (even accepting that this audience laps up meaningless buzzwordy hope-versus-despair nonsense like this). But surely the occasional boring ending would only make people shrug and hope the next season is better, and it’d take several in a row for them to finally think things will never get better and the show might as well just end.
Which, to be fair, might have been happening already if this season took longer than usual to come out and some people weren’t sure it ever would. But that apparent fact was buried in some obscure audience comments and wasn’t something Shuichi seemed to notice, so he shouldn’t be nearly so sure that this would work.
Plus, it shouldn’t only be about the ending – the rest of the story is a part of the story too. The other trials in this game have mostly been fantastic and there should be no way the audience wouldn’t want more of that kind of thing, no matter how disappointingly it ends!
…This should also still not actually be a disappointing ending at all, because look at what an amazing hero Shuichi’s managing to be! He’s willing to give his life to stop the real villain behind all this – not some meaningless concept of “despair”, but the people who actually wanted him and his friends to suffer! This is still something that it should be possible for the audience to accept makes a good story, despite the fact that they themselves are the villains in it.
Keebo:  (Hope… won’t end the killing game? If that’s true, then this feeling that I must win for hope is…)
Geez, Keebo, glad you’ve finally caught up with us. It really should not have taken you this long.
It’s pretty neat that the “lying” mechanic as used here with Keebo isn’t actually lying – hope is just a concept, it’s not even a fact that you can lie about. Instead, it’s representing Keebo finally choosing to ignore and go against what his inner voice is telling him to do. The only weapon he has is hope, but that doesn’t mean this is the only choice he has.
“What are you doing, Keebo?”
“Hurry up and side with hope.”
“COME BACK HOOOPE”
“it’s hope again, right?”
And of course, the majority of the audience is not happy about this. Really, though, Shuichi has already ruined their hope ending by pointing out that this “hope” is arbitrary and cruel, and no amount of empty yelling about hope from Keebo could change that now even if he did keep listening to them.
“show us maki roll!”
This single comment here is the closest anyone in the audience ever gets to even vaguely acknowledging Kaito’s existence, since they’re using the nickname he gave her. And the utter lack any other mention of Kaito from the audience is quite clearly another thing that is completely Unrealistic and Wrong. Kaito was the best, and a significant amount of the audience should have been invested enough in his story and his influence on Shuichi and Maki to still be occasionally mentioning him here.
“i wanna break Shuichi’s fingers <3”
I sincerely hope that when Shuichi gets out of here, he ends up absolutely nowhere near this person and they never figure out where he’s living. Geez. Go and re-examine your life, you sick creep.
Keebo:  “I may be a robot, but the thought of my friends dying still fills me with sadness. I don’t want anyone else to feel this way!”
You know, if they’d actually done anything at all with Keebo’s issues about being a robot, it could have worked pretty well in this trial. He’s always been struggling to fully understand the feelings of “real” humans, and so he should have also struggled to justify to himself that his own feelings matter even though they’re just being “simulated” by computer software. But he still feels it, so it still matters, robot or not. That’s exactly the kind of argument Shuichi had to make to himself to justify that he’s still real. Keebo could have been the perfect person (among those still with us) to help Shuichi and friends come to terms with the existential issues that this trial has given them! If only Keebo had had an actual proper character arc about accepting himself as just as much of a person despite being a robot, and also if only he’d ever been trying to give his friends actual hope during this whole deal. His character has so much wasted potential.
His protagonist status wears off here, which is an appropriate moment for it to do so. All he was ever meant to do as the audience’s protagonist was to keep the cycle going and keep more killing games happening, and now that he realises that, he doesn’t want to be their protagonist any more.
“gonna dismantle you, Keebo.”
Oh boy, here’s some foreshadowing to what they actually end up doing, because apparently none of them ever really cared about Keebo as a character or a person.
“WTF? You already killed each other?”
As if the fact that the murderers were all participants of the game makes everyone in the game a bad person and therefore it doesn’t matter if they suffer and die? As if most of the actual murderers were even bad people and not good people desperately trying to save everyone and/or being manipulated into it? Yeah, no, sure, this was all just a meaningless slaughterfest and so it’s totally okay for them to all continue to die.
“the questionnaires were pointless?”
I mean, it’s not like you guys ever affected Keebo’s actions in any meaningful way up until now anyway; I don’t know why you’re so disappointed.
“Shuichi has a point.”
Hello, sensible person! I don’t know if this is the same person as that one from before, but it’s nice to see at least a tiny, tiny fraction of the audience getting it. It really is such a tiny fraction, though – the vast majority of people are still just complaining about not getting what they wanted. And I’d like to just put this down to the fact that the people who are realising this are also nice enough to then stop watching and stay out of the comments section – but, no. The comments section is exactly where these people who’ve realised this should be, because they should be trying to persuade everyone else to agree with them and realise that this is fucked up and no longer want this!
Shuichi:  “New characters are created just to show the outside world a fictional hope. They get written into these killing games, forced to betray one another…”
I appreciate how Shuichi is describing them as being “created”, because it proves that he now understands that this is exactly what happens. This has nothing to do with the pregame assholes who auditioned and wanted this; they just donated their bodies. The characters who are actually in this killing game never wanted any of this, yet they were literally created to suffer. That is not fucking okay and Shuichi will not let it continue. No-one else will ever be created for that purpose. He and his friends are the last.
Shuichi:  “To end this killing game, and end it forever… We will reject Danganronpa!”
This whole speech here accompanies Shuichi’s protagonist status switching back on, and it has pretty nice dramatic effect. He’s being a hero!
Shuichi:  “Tsumugi… you were right. I’m weak. I’m weaker than anyone else… If I didn’t have my friends, I’d be useless. That’s true even now!”
It’s lovely that Shuichi is okay with this. He realises that this is the character Tsumugi wrote him to be… but that doesn’t mean that it’s not still who he is, and it doesn’t mean he’s not real.
But he’s still not giving himself enough credit at all. Yes, he’s only able to be strong when he has friends to rely on and inspire him, but all that potential strength is still right there inside him, ready to be brought out by the right people! All he needs is a little nudge in the right direction, from the right kind of heroes.
Shuichi:  “If Keebo and Maki didn’t stand up… I would have ended it all right then.”
It’s really sad to think what Shuichi probably means when he says “end it all”. Kind of like the way he once said that Kaito “saved his life”, without ever properly elaborating on what he meant by that.
But still, Shuichi – Keebo and Maki may have chosen to sacrifice themselves, but you’re the one who used the pain of that to realise that you’re still real and figure out what everything meant. They weren’t trying to encourage you to do that, or even to be strong at all, when they made their choice. That all came from you, and from your own strength that you’ve built up through Kaede and Kaito’s belief in you. You’re not as weak as you were at the beginning, not by a long shot!
Shuichi:  “But it’s because I’m weak and because I lost my way… that I finally realized. I finally realised how cruel this “hope” really is.”
It’s cruel because the best way to write a good story is to have characters that are weak and suffer like Shuichi has been. The most inspiring type of heroes who give people the most hope aren’t the ones who are perfect and invincible, but the ones who struggle and suffer and yet still manage to win in the end. Shuichi has realised, because of his own suffering and the fact that he’s managed to claw his way through it anyway, that this is the kind of thing the audience should want to see, because it gives them the hope that they can overcome their weaknesses and struggles in the same way. A storyline like Shuichi’s should be exactly what the audience wants and exactly why this has happened so many times to so many real people who didn’t deserve to suffer for this.
I say “should be”, because this isn’t even remotely what the in-universe audience actually wants to see at all. It’s honestly bizarre how obvious the divide is between what Shuichi is describing as a genuinely inspiring engaging fiction that should be the reason the audience keeps wanting this, and the one-dimensional idiocy that this nonsensical audience apparently wants instead. If the out-universe writers are able to write Shuichi talking about the audience wanting this kind of story, they should also be perfectly capable of writing the audience actually wanting it! This shouldn’t be difficult.

Hey love your PMM DRv3 au, I was wondering who do you think out of the magical people would witch out first? Additionally, assuming Kokichi wasn't the first and learned that he would one day become a witch, do you think he'd handle that well? Love your work~
Okay, so first, thank you so much! I love hearing when people like my work!
Second, sorry for this novel I wrote in response, but whatever, I had a lot to say!
Short answers: Ryoma or Kokichi would probably witch out first, then Kaito. Kokichi never handles things well.
Long answers under cut.
Wildcard option: Kiibo already witched out from the start and Miu “brought him back” a la Kazumi. Not sure if this is “canon”, but I kind of like the idea.
---
Putting that aside, probably Ryoma. I assume Kyubey would approach him after his family and girlfriend were already dead, right when he was looking for revenge, so his killing spree would probably be magically-assisted. If he still went to jail for it, then he’d witch out really fast with no access to Grief Seeds. If he wasn’t caught or went on the run, then he’d still be in bad shape considering the massive trauma, lack of a support system, and suicidal thoughts.
I think his low self-worth and general lack of motivation would lead to him either not seeking out witches to fight or pulling a Sayaka and running himself ragged in a self-destructive rampage. Either way, his days would be numbered. If Miu’s group managed to pull him in (probably after Kaede joins/takes over) then he’d do better, but considering the way he tries to push others away…
---
The other top choice is Kokichi because he’s fighting alone and thus using lots of magic and at constant risk of injury, but also traveling with DICE, so he can’t move freely and has to worry about collateral damage and others targeting them to get back at him. So, the worst of both worlds. (And don’t even suggest that they should contract too or he’ll–) He’s nomadic, so he has no safe home base, and he’s constantly poaching off other people’s territories, so he definitely ends up fighting them and wasting more magic.
He’s also way too paranoid to have made a wish in any circumstance but an utter emergency, so he knows he got a raw deal even if he tries to pretend otherwise, and there’s no way he wouldn’t notice stuff like the similarities between Soul Gems and Grief Seeds and the way certain magical people just seem to disappear right as a new kind of witch appears. I think he’d sort of treat Kyubey like Monokuma (pretending to get along and have complementary goals, not openly working against him) and avoid directly asking him for confirmation so that he can keep on living in denial. But eventually he’d run into someone desperate, someone who’d really needed that Seed he took or someone who had nothing left and just wanted to take out their emotional pain on an intruder, and then…
How would he handle this knowledge?
Badly.
Specifically, I think he’d keep repressing his feelings, but even harder. It’s not like he didn’t know before, but now that he knows…. Well, his Soul Gem probably isn’t looking too great.
He would absolutely never tell DICE about this (just like he’s not telling them about the Familiar thing, or the literal Soul Gem thing, or how he can’t seem to keep his Gem as bright as before, or…), but he might end up mockingly telling another magical if they got him pissed enough and kept asking questions. He hates being cornered, especially about something he genuinely finds upsetting.
If confronted by someone else who already knew or just found out, he’d fake having always known and totally not caring at all. Just keep faking it even harder, hiding everything better, and escalating to more outrageous and insensitive behavior until everyone wants to fight him on sight. So, basically a time bomb.
Despite all this, I’m not sure he’d actually witch out.
He really dislikes murder, being controlled or forced into bad situations, and other people messing with his head, not to mention that DICE would probably be the first people caught in his labyrinth, so turning into a witch would be like the ultimate nightmare scenario. The clear better option would be to destroy his Soul Gem before he transforms.
But I also see him as afraid of dying and only willing to do that when all other options have been exhausted. He’s also totally willing to let or make others hurt him, but doesn’t tend to directly hurt himself. So, he’d be running at the Soul Gem equivalent of 5%-20% battery for weeks or even months, trending downwards but not willing to definitively say that this is the point where he has to give up and die.
Of course, living with your Soul Gem clouded impairs your thinking and makes all your negative emotions worse, so he’d get more paranoid, more secretive, more confrontational, more out of control…. Eventually he’d be avoiding everyone, and then just realize in some back alley that he has no Grief Seeds left and he’s at the point of no return.
I think at that point it’d all depend on who, if anyone, found him and how quickly they reacted. He might get them to kill him, kill himself, get caught/distracted and witch out, or even get out of it alive if someone is really fast with a Grief Seed (or relatively clean Soul Gem, if you go for that headcanon…) and good with rapid-fire, improv therapy sessions.
---
Kaito is probably the next most likely to witch out because he also tends to repress his emotions, keep up an image for others, and try to handle things on his own. He’d probably be dealing with some jealousy over Shuichi’s growth and some stress over keeping up with school while hunting Familiars and Witches, but I think he’d manage right up until he starts to learn the kind of stuff Kyubey didn’t mention.
He’d persevere through the ‘Soul Gem is your soul, body is essentially dead’ thing (especially if his body was previously not that healthy….), but not the witch thing. I feel like he would stubbornly insist that witches come from “curses” and refuse to even consider any other options right up until someone witched out in front of him. So, a huge, ideal-shattering revelation followed immediately by a surprise fight against an enemy he doesn’t want to kill, then guilt over not saving that person, guilt over killing all the other witches, terror at the thought of telling Maki and Shuichi, fear of transforming and hurting more people…
He would absolutely pretend the person just died fighting the witch, and avoid mentioning the revelation to Maki and Shuichi at all costs. I think he would honestly delude himself into believing he could just hold out and magically make everything better right up until he broke down and witched out in front of them.
(New timeline Kaito would probably be fine with the Law of Cycles thing as long as he can frame it as a heroic sacrifice/reward kind of thing. Maybe even a little tempted by the Godoka cult stuff?)
---
Kaito witching out might just take out the whole group, but if the others manage to not sink into depression (or just straight out get killed by his witch…) and to follow what Kaito tried to teach them (Not what he did, mind you. What he told them to do.), then they’d probably end up forming a permanent group with the HimiTen duo.
They’d do alright as long as Tenko realizes that she can’t always prioritize cleaning Himiko’s Soul Gem over her own and stops trying to hide when she needs it more. I think Shuichi and Maki would actually tell them about the origin of witches, and it would be really upsetting and stressful, but not totally devastating like finding out right as someone you love becomes a monster you have to kill.
---
Meanwhile, the Kaede, Miu, Gonta, and Kiibogroup (Kamigoki?) is shockingly stable. They have enough people to not send everyone to every fight, so they can manage the other parts of their lives, and they have a wide enough territory to support all of them Grief Seed-wise. Also, strategy-wise, they have close and long range plus whatever tools Miu invents, and Kiibo can fly to gather info or get a better angle to shoot.
Kaede is pragmatic enough to accept that sometimes you have no options besides killing people and Miu prioritizes her and her own over strangers, so I think they’d be able to withstand the witch revelation even if they weren’t happy about it.
Kiibo tends to go along with the group unless he has major objections, and he kind of has this stubborn belief that things will turn out fine in the end if you can get through all the terrible things happening now, but he was already sensitive about being perceived as non-human…. He might go no-antenna mode and decide to destroy Kyubey to end the system or even pull a Mami and try to take out everyone’s Soul Gems before they witch out, but I honestly think the others could stop him and talk him down before any major damage came of it (Killing Kyubey is a group project!)
Gonta would be really upset, but could probably be convinced that defeating the witches is the best they can do to honor the people the witches used to be. Also, fighting witches and familiars is still tangibly doing something that stops people from being killed, so he wouldn’t feel useless and get desperate like in the game.
Ryoma wouldn’t be that affected because he already saw himself as a killer (plus blunted affect from depression). I mean, he wouldn’t be in a great place mentally, but it wouldn’t necessarily be a worse place than usual.
---
Angie’s cult (Angie, Tsumugi, Kirumi, Rantaro, and Korekiyo) already know about the witch thing, and the Familiar thing, and the soul outside of body thing…. And probably the entropy thing? They’re really co-dependent and groupthinky, but stable. I also see them as having really useful special powers (something like Oriko’s for Angie, illusions or transformation for Tsumugi, finding/tracking things or people for Rantaro… maybe healing for Korekiyo if he wished to cure his sister?) and getting paid in Grief Seeds to use those powers for other magicals.
They generally believe that witching out is just part of the balance of life. Every wish has a curse, you hurt as many as you save, etc. (New timeline beliefs are probably more along the lines of proving yourself worthy to ascend from this world and join Godoka). Rantaro is a little unhappier when thinking about how that applies to his sisters, and Korekiyo is very, very interested in other people’s reactions when they find out, but none of them is in danger of experiencing it first-hand unless they get separated.
I feel like the group could withstand one or two of the members witching out (as long as they weren’t Tsumugi and Angie) without losing faith, but any more than that would permanently destabilize them. None of them could actually last on their own at this point, although it might be possible to join another group.

Tumblr media
The trial had come so swiftly that it felt like static is what moved Shuichi’s body and soul from place to place. An ever-reaching numbness, and a weight on his shoulders that stifled him, pulling him into the earth beneath his feet. He wished that it could--that the elevator leading the precious few lives that remained would simply crash into the void below and end it.
He’d never say it. He couldn’t utter a word beyond staring at the passing hues beyond the metal cage.
The trial started off emotionally, of course. Nobody was prepared for this, and it took a lot of effort to get any answers from anyone. He had to wrap his head around what he knew--so very little, but making a coherent tale was like pulling teeth. They were tired, angry, and scared. Just like he was...
And when he thought there was no further to walk the discussion toward, the massive Exisal appeared from the elevator, almost sounding happy to be here. The voices shifted seamlessly between Kaito and Kokichi’s, dizzyingly and deviously, and for a second he almost wondered if neither was in there at all.
That wasn’t the case however and he knew it. The smell of oil and electricity was strong, but so too was the blood. Nobody would’ve known about it--he didn’t see any sign of it on the exterior of the mech. It was a mixture, however--two people, indistinct and covering up any scent of more. It might have been simply one person, coated in the crushed student’s blood... and the thought of that terrified him. There were no certainties. Nowhere he looked could such a sweet salvation hide.
Within the cockpit, Kokichi suffered through the bullshit, doing his best to hide his pain for nobody’s sake except for Kaito. To play their role the astronaut needed to focus... and with his own voice too damn weak to use the microphone, he almost felt like a genius for rigging the voice masker. Almost. Mainly he just felt annoyed when the sound of his voice rang out, mocking and chiding and playing up the field. He’d have to whisper to Kaito constantly, trying to ad-lib and explain so much despite the wheezing breaths... The antidote had worked, although his lungs hadn’t recovered. And neither had he when pain seared from his body.
“Damn it you walking meatstick, don’t tell Himiko that you hate her! Ham it up!” Or, “Stop moving so much! God!” Or his favorite, “If you put the arm behind you one more time I will piss on you.” Because damn it, that was really obvious of a tell!
For Shuichi’s standpoint, he’d noticed it after the first few times. The voice acting was spotless and even if it was hard to imagine Kaito or Kokichi playing the other so well, it wasn’t possible to know if both lived. And he did his best to avoid explaining anything that would give away his own secret, the vampirism, but as the case drew closer...
...He changed his course. “Neither of them died. I know that is the truth.” This didn’t sit well, of course. Tsumugi questioned it immediately and the confused gazes of the others prompted more, more, from him, and he squeezed his jacket. “I spoke with Kaito last night through the window. What I did would have countered the Strike 9 poison and left the only person to need the antidote as being Kokichi. No way would Kaito have chosen any different... I know he wouldn’t have wanted him to die.”
In the cockpit, Kaito could see half of Kokichi’s face in the dimly-lit space. It appeared blank... save for how his hand was clutching Kaito’s pants leg. He wouldn’t want to let him know that those words meant a lot to him.
“Uh oh, I think he’s hallucinating.” Tsumugi unhelpfully responded, followed by murmurs of approval from a few others. Kiibo just looked concerned, as if he was contemplating running over to check on Shuichi.
“No. I’m beyond certain. You’ve trusted me this far with everything, just... trust me a little bit longer. Monokuma himself has no idea who died.” And yet for all his pleading, they still didn’t understand. How could he have done something to nullify the poison? Without proper explanation, he was left with circling arguments and a countdown to Monokuma’s patience.
....His power, it wouldn’t work on Kiibo. He couldn’t use it as a last-ditch attempt, even if it was for everyone’s sake. He was backed into a corner, panicked and his thoughts racing too much to make any further argument. But when the timer came down, and the vote was cast...
...Nobody voted.
Of course, from inside the mech, Kaito would have to put up with Kokichi thrusting his arms in the air wordlessly in victory, nearly hitting him in the face. “Alright, time for the big reveal! Ready? And also, I still can’t really stand or anything so if you knock me out of the cockpit I’m suing you.”

So I’m in chapter 3 and WAIT WHAT THE FUCK DO YOU MEAN THERE’S NOW A CULT???
So... what’s up with the meteors? How does this relate to everything? Seriously, if this ties to my tragedy theory then what even is this? Did Kazuichi engineer meteors or something to hit the Earth??? Also... translators, why the fuck did you need to use “invalid” to mean disabled people? That’s pretty fucking ableist. Even if the equivalent was still in Japanese (which is still BS of course, ableism should never be tolerated, don’t make me go Monodam on you)
Okay so everyone’s now suspicious of Maki, but Kaito wants to see the best in everyone so he believes that there’s more to her than just being an assassin.
Holy shit, so Monodam not only killed his fellow Monokubs, but now he launches a coup and disposes Monokuma from running things. Now Monokuma is just a silent husk of his former self. :v Honestly it’s intriguing but also hilarious. Monodam wants everyone to just get along, but he’s now forcing it. Poor guy was obviously treated like shit by the others (especially Monokid of course), so he clearly wants revenge and thus is on his power trip. He almost sounds like he doesn’t want the killing to continue, but I can’t tell TBH. To you I say... Monodam is still best Monokub.
Tsumugi... you’re rude to Gonta for saying he’s suddenly a coward and you make a comment about scary asylums full of “lunatics”... don’t test me young lady, you already made perverted comments, don’t push it.
Lol, the empty rooms have the ghosts of Monokuma and the dead Monokubs.
Okay, Kiyo seems like he’s orgasming at the stuff in the anthropology lab. Also his threat to Kokichi was amazing. But yeah, that was fun. Also wow, stuff talking about communicating with the dead, that’s creepy... and Shuichi even has a brief moment of “well I WOULD like to talk to Kaede”.
Angie’s lab was I guess a thing. I’m sure the locking will come to play in the murder. Oddly not much to say here, unlike about Miss Yonaga herself as you’ll see...
Okay this fourth floor in general is pretty creepy, but in a cool way (not like a CERTAIN SOMEONE I’ll get to). The computer was something, IDK what that was about, though I guess the “new world” aspect does sound like the Neo-World. Wonder what the heck this is gonna mean in the future.
So Tenko has a lab now, and she can train there, cool. Also wow, she got real for a second.
Okay so... what the fuck was that Miu and Keebo scene? Like yeah it seems like Miu was cleaning Keebo, but they were also clearly attracted to each other. It almost looked like an actual sex scene (or was it actually one?)???
So the memory flashlight only shows that weird funeral we saw in chapter 2, but now with everyone instead of just Kaede. From what I’m guessing, the whole “erasing their memories to live normal lives” thing required them all to fake their deaths and that’s what the funeral is about. IDK why they’re all together, were they all a class before? Were they just remaining Ultimates? Did they all fake their deaths in the same event? Of course, this could be more deception too...
Okay wow, Kaito is really concerned about Maki. He brings her out to train with him and Shuichi, and even though she resists for a bit, she decides to give in. She doesn’t stay around for long, but it’s something.
Okay so the morning... we still get a motive, though is this now all to get along given Monodam is in control? Or are we still doing the killing game? Anyway... this motive claims to allow resurrection of the dead, specifically one of their four classmates.
Okay so... ANGIE WHAT THE FUCK? When I noticed Tsumugi mention Atua I got suspicious, but then Keebo mentioned Atua too... and then we see fucking Tenko has joined them too. Angie then seduces Gonta with her shit and welp. Now half of the class has been brainwashed into Angie’s “student council” (read: Atua cult). Tsumugi, you’re no longer fave, you’re cancelled for being an Angie puppet! :v
So it seems like Angie seduced them all. Gonta is simple and believes whatever is told to him, Himiko needed someone to look up to, Tsumugi feels insecure and plain so a “higher purpose” probably is seductive sounding, Keebo sounded jealous that Miu was with the New World computer more than him so Angie used that to convince him that authoritarianism was best for stability. Tenko I’m not so sure about, but it feels like she wanted to be with Himiko so gave in. And of course, they’re all trapped in the school so Angie’s alternative idea might be appealing.
I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I actually like Kokichi a lot more now. I’ll take the annoying prick over the creepy cult! Obviously as a liar he sees through Angie’s BS. As annoying as he can be, he certainly knows his shit and of course is fun to try and deduct what he’s up to. Kiyo as an anthropologist would also know how cults work and see their BS. Miu is too sciencey, and you could argue Kaito is too but for him it also becomes more about the rampant authoritarianism they bring now as well as him not wanting to give up and truly survive (which Kaede also helped inspire in him). Maki and Shuichi also feel the same (as do the others, Kaito is just really strong in his love of freedom), but Shuichi also feels indebted to Kaede to get everyone out alive.
I also tried a free time with Kokichi, but I fucked it up. I guess Shuichi did briefly learn a bit about how people brainwash others though. :v
Because I hate myself, I saw the goddamn man’s fantasy scene. It becomes even more uncomfortable when you realise this is Angie’s organising. Monokuma showing up was funny though.
Kaito feels really uneasy, I’m not sure if it’s just the cult stuff or also the idea of resurrecting the dead. Maybe he wants to resurrect Kaede, and despite how scary and impossible he finds the idea he can’t get the idea out of his head?
So because Tsumugi is cancelled, I am now hanging out with my weird anthropology buddy Kiyo. His free times are still pretty interesting with the anthropology stuff, though him mentioning his sister and how she inspired him was a nice backstory. Also if she’s only friends with girls, is that a part of why he makes himself look and act so effeminate?
Kaito doesn’t even go out to train at night. I’m worried about him. Maki actually comes with Shuichi and they just do it together themselves. From the sounds of it, Maki didn’t choose to become an assassin, but was made to be one, and now feels detached from her humanity as a result. It’s also why she’s so good at pushups, lol.
Okay wow, the council stopping Maki was really creepy. As if the prejudice wasn’t enough towards her, Angie’s authoritarian streak now forbids anyone going out at night. If she was annoying before, I now hate her.
Well the morning was really creepy. The student council announces their preparations for resurrection, and it sounds like they’re even considering human sacrifices. Yeah, we’re getting pretty out there.
So the Monokubs bring a memory light to try and create some peace... but Angie destroys it. Of course her minions agree with her because their council is organised so that Atua decides everything... and as point it out, it just means Angie is running everything. Kaito is mega pissed off (also because the exit hole is blocked off, but this is the last straw), and honestly I feel him.
Monodam, Angie stopped them from getting along by destroying the flashlight. I’m just saying, you COULD punish her, maybe whip out the Exisals or something... YES I WANT ANGIE TO DIE, SHE’S REACHED A POSITION ONLY TERUTERU HAS: “I hate you with all my guts and I hope you die.”
I’m up to the free times now, but gosh, things were so intense I had to stop. Cults and brainwashing like this really get under my skin. Like, if Angie were simply a creepy cult leader, I wouldn’t hate her as much... but she’s clearly Polynesian. So basically: not only do we have a racial stereotype of someone who acts simple and naively kind and a whole host of other Polynesian and Indigenous stereotypes... but now she’s deceptive and untrustworthy, sucking people into her cult to grow power for herself. Seriously, fuck Angie, and fuck her creators for thinking it’s acceptable to have your resident foreigner for the game be a Polynesian who’s weird, primitive and now obsessively religious to the point of authoritarianism and brutality.
Okay, so... where will things go from here? I’m not even sure at this rate. Angie is obviously going to play a central role in the next case. Whether she’s murdered or is the murder is a question though, though if you look at Mikan revealing she had Despair Disease and remembered her Despair self and Celeste being found out as Taeko Yasuhiro, I won’t be surprised if Angie is the killer. It’s arguably predictable, but it’s satisfying too. :V Because I mean, Angie is clearly using the Atua religion as a means to gain power for herself, and in the first investigation Kaede when talking to her notes that her religion sounds like some kind of scam, I forget the exact lines but I think it mentioned guys on the internet too? So basically: Angie’s a hack and she’s gonna be exposed.
That being said, Angie WOULD be predictable as the killer like I said. I COULD see Kaito snapping and killing her as a self sacrifice on his behalf just to remind everyone of what Kaede wanted and that giving up isn’t living (wow, that’s like Makoto at the end of the first game... but with dying).
So the third chapter is always the double murder one... but worst case scenario: we get a Jonestown massacre situation. Not just two murders, but as many as five: I’d be surprised if we went that far, but the worst case scenario is Angie ordering her followers to kill themselves for the resurrection ritual to work. Of course, if they’re not ruled as suicides then that’s a problem - I’m PRETTY sure the two or more rule was in it, but I admit I’m not entirely sure, so maybe there’s leeway. Regardless, we’re in dangerous waters. I mean, Angie DID mention human sacrifice as a possibility. Maybe Angie could also order the defiant ones to be killed because they’re disturbing the peace (in other words, she makes the others kill FOR her), I mean this IS a clear allegory for the dogma of organised religion and even authoritarianism in general. It’s literally a cult.
Also like the second game, people’s minds are being fucked with in the third chapter, it’s just now someone instead of something. :v
So... what if the whole resurrecting the dead thing is just bullshit? What if it’s just to see how far someone would go to do this, even if it means killing someone? And of course this would be a failure of getting along, so Monodam will be mega pissed off, and the blackened failed the test.
That being said, what if the resurrection IS real? Obviously there will be a weird explanation for it (maybe the New World computer ties to it, especially if it’s a Neo-World thing?), but Rantaro being back would obviously be a big deal. That being said, what if instead of him it’s Kaede who comes back? Angie dismissed her as a murderer, but Kaede just got her target wrong and fucked up. And I mean, I’m sure Shuichi and Kaito would be happy to see her at least (provided they can believe she’s really back).
Angie and Monodam share interesting parallels. They claim to want the same thing, but their methods are different. Monodam is taking control through fear, while Angie brainwashes people into following her with promises of love and peace. That being said, Monodam, please take care of Angie. She IS the core of why they’re not getting along. ;P

The secret organization, D.I.C.E
I have rewatched Kokichi’s FTE to see if he revealed any specific about his organization and why his motive video says he has 10 subordinates but the video shows the group only has 9 subordinates.
I just think this is a possibility,  so I wanna share this.
Tumblr media
“The ‘Ultimate Supreme Leader’ Kokichi Ouma…”
Tumblr media
“He was rampaging around the world as the leader of the secret organization ‘DICE’.”
Tumblr media
“’DICE’ repeats pleasant offenses with the motto [Do not kill people] and [Laughable crime]…”
Tumblr media
“Ouma-kun had 10 excellent underlings working with him.”
Tumblr media
“These underlings were like friends and family… more important than anything else in his life…”
As shown in the picture above, Kokichi is the only one holding his mask with two different sides on both eyes. His underlings are most likely wearing their masks with two sides are the same. Let look at the next picture for more details.
Tumblr media
“But then, a terrible event befell those precious people…”
D.I.C.E members are being tortured in this, which must be the cause that makes Kokichi suffering all the time and hid his real feelings behind a “liar” mask… Except the girl in between and the guy from the second of the right side, we don’t see their full face, most of them wearing their one-face mask. I just made an assumption so since Kokichi is their leader so his mask is suitable for his duality personalities. Furthermore, Kokichi is the second one who received his own motive video beside Kirumi, it is possible that the mastermind want to twist his mind, to spice up the game. Kokichi actually shows the expression of sadness and hurting whenever his friends died in font of him, and he has a deeply hateful feeling towards the killing games toying with people’s lives, so his pacificism is real. D.I.C.E’s wounds have nothing to do with harmful things, the best change is they were kidnapped and being tortured.
We also know Kokichi can be truthful and lying at the same time, so it’s hard to tell his true nature but that is how Kokichi’s character is, its similar to his mask showing its two emotions on each side. He had to lie to himself to survive the death game, in contrast, to throw the mastermind off guard, so his lies are white lies (as white as his costume). If you ask how far in his lies, I think he lied about enjoying killing games and being the mastermind. Everything he does all have a specified purpose.
It is said Kokichi is the Ultimate Supreme Leader. He said he is the leader of an evil secret organization with over 10,000 members, but in fact, this group only has 10 members and causes ‘mayhem’ over the world. And in his FTE, he says he want to ‘trick the entire world, to make it become the truth’. So in reality, his group just wants to make the world believe they are truly evil, who belong to a secret evil organization with over 10,000 members, but that is just a harmless prank, non-existence, leading by their leader. In UTDP, Nagito isn’t able to find where this organization is, despite of his extreme luck, likely it has…no existence. Of course, how such a large organization like that gets no single one know about it? Kokichi’s prank is what misleading people into believe he was some kind of evil, nowhere in his lab contains a single murder weapon. The motive video can’t be a lie, we’ve Monokuma’s words confirming he never lies about motives.
Speaking of the hat and the cloak. We don’t see those things while Kokichi receiving his Ultimate wardrope in the Prologue, which means it isn’t originally a part of his Ultimate Supreme Leader’s wardrope that given by the Ultimate Initiative. Maybe they were the extra stuffs Kokichi added to his wardrobe to make it looks like an evil dictator.  He only wears the hat and the cloak while playing with D.I.C.E, that seems like a kid disguising himself to be a tyrant, to play the game of how a villian should be. But due Kokichi wasn’t willingly playing the part of the killing game, he didn’t wear those things, because it is not like he playing a game with D.I.C.E, the group prefers non-violent games.
Perhaps in among of those 10 subordinates, them including Kokichi as well, so in general, he considers himself to be their Ultimate Supreme Leader and also one subordinate as well. Let’s look at his FTE.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He indicates that he hates lies and jokes but he could also lying about that, and he states his organization doesn’t need a leader, they would be happier with their boss gone. So what I meant is Kokichi in the motive video put aside his identity as the Ultimate Supreme Leader to be D.I.C.E’s boss, to make himself become the 10th subordinate and commit “laughable crimes” with them, in contrast, his true identity as the Ultimate Supreme Leader rules over D.I.C.E at the same time. His group might doesn’t like his role to be their boss but his role as a friend to them. That makes sense to me how D.I.C.E has 10 members but also 10 subordinates, including Kokichi at the same time.
About Kokichi’s talent, Ultimate Supreme Leader sounds massive to you but he is just a leader of a small group. Let’s consider his motive video says “he caused mayhem the world over as the leader of D.I.C.E”. We know Kokichi is pretty smart as though he has an Ultimate Analyst’s skill like Junko, like he could predict everything that is gonna happen, what people gonna do and who the future culprits are before Shuichi exposing them, he even wrote the script and gave it to Kaito because he knew what everyone would say. His talent is related to his intelligence to read through people, his leadership’s skill can drive people to do as his plan, Kokichi actually helps Shuichi a lot in collecting clues and discovering the true culprits from Chapter 2 onwards. He is good at manipulating people, and detecting lies. All of these abilities make him being a great leader, this part is true, he just lied about its core, I don’t have to say much, his motive video tells you his organization is all part of pacifist pranksters group, and his Ultimate Lab expresses Kokichi’s chair is too cliche although he named himself being an “evil leader”, the entire room feels like an elaborate prank with all comical objects around, all of this gives you the straight answer Kokichi lied about his evil organization with over 10,000 members.
So what makes a Supreme Leader? According to some researchs, I’m gonna make some list :
- Have Faith in Their Beliefs
D.I.C.E can’t consider Kokichi being their leader if everything he does is purely “pranks”, he has to be something more than that, Kokichi must have a solid faith in his ideas. And build on it by being a good communicator, listening to others, setting examples. Leadership is all about being passionate about what to do, and having confidence in themself and their followers whom they have to motivate and inspire.
- Make the Hard Choice
There are times when Kokichi makes the hard choice, and self-sacrifice in order to enhance the lives of others around him. As in Chapter 4, Kokichi manipulated Gonta to kill Miu, he didn’t want to die, he wanted to do something more to help everyone, so he had no other choice but sacrificing Gonta for this task, because if he died, his friends might never find out Miu’s actions since she’s intelligent enough to deal all with this. Also, he decided to hide the truth behind ‘the secret of the outside world’, so this secret must be something else terrible more than the ruined world he showing them in Chapter 5, which he meant to control Gonta to give them “mercy kills” without letting them know about it. And he has to sacrifice himself by pretending to be the mastermind, being hated by his friends, to end this tragedy, to stop the killing game with all cost. Finally, sacrificing his own live for the sake of all. That’s how it makes him being a great leader.
I recommend you read a good analysis of Kokichi’s talent here of someone for more info about ‘what makes a leader?’
Just like Junko and Izuru, Kokichi seemingly hates boredom because his talent makes him easily predicting at people, but unlike them, he doesn’t meant to cause anyone in harm. Lies are things he could use for some extreme entertainment and stirring up people, make him overcome boredom in life. He hates despair and killing, as he confessed “a game you’re forced to play can’t be fun” and “the ones who enjoying to toy with our lives pissing me off”. That’s why he had to prevent the killing game even if it costs his own life. Kokichi is a pacifist, this part is for sure.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
How are his pranks harmless? By his words “Trick the entire world, and it will become the truth, the real truth isn’t that great anyway” and “Why do you guys hate lies so much? There’s only one truth, but endless possibilities for lies, y'know? And some of them are only white lies, or lies to be kind to people…” Kokichi’s subordinates lied to a victim in his terminal illness, that they were the culprit in that long case, so it’d become the truth to him. Kyoko exposed this lie and Kokichi accepted that was a lie. In other words, Kokichi meant to help this victim so he won’t leave any regret behind. He lies to help people. He talks about danger and death as if he’s involved a lot in dangerous cases but in the end, it doesn’t have a slightly harm behind those words. For example, Kokichi’s FTE, he threatened he’d take Shuichi’s life, but did he do it for real? NOPE. He stated “I made your heart *die* with worry, didn’t I?” and “I stole your heart, so I’m satisfied! I don’t need to steal your life anymore!”. That’s the different meaning behinds his deadly words and that’s why his motive video’s established his crimes are non-violent and harmless, he never kills people, D.I.C.E explicitly forbid murders.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Izuru is a genius with multi-talent who easily getting bored with predictable things, just like Junko, his Ultimate Analysist’s skill makes him boring with the world. He’s explicitly claiming this evil secret organization is absurd cuz it isn’t as it sounds, like it isn’t “real evil”. Kokichi’s motive video is a testament to that, nowhere states his organization is “evil”, it’s just told to be the secret organization. Although the “evil” word seemingly describes his trickish personality, like confusing and threatening his friends, lied about enjoying them in suffering (Ch4). Only someone as plastered in lies as Kokichi could look at a cruel thing like the killing game enforced by Monokuma and call it “not boring”. He hid his real feelings behind this lie to survive in such situation, he had to play along the game to make himself being hate by others, motivating them trust him being the mastermind, playing the mastermind’s part to confront the real mastermind. All of these doings just for ruining the killing game, he said he wants to win the game, in other words, whatever dangerous situations he’s in, he always think that he’s just playing some game. Izuru knows Kokichi’s organization involved in tough situations but he still finds it’s boring, this links to the high possibility of non-violence exists in this organization, cuz Izuru’s normally interested in escaping boredom from despair and chaos, things that cause unpredictable outcomes. Kokichi’s organization can’t make him seeing that.
If my words aren’t enough, read the articles link 1 and link 2, Kodaka actually confirmed Kokichi is a trickster and his case is completely different from Genocider Shou, Junko Enoshima or Nagito Komaeda. He is NOT a sicko or a murderous fiend.
Just a thought on why Kokichi collected all the evidences from the past incidents to his room :
The hidden camera from case 1 : How did the culprit turn off the sensor on the top of the bookcase without letting one photo of them being taken? Unless they hid their photos after developing all the film from the cameras. Also, the camera takes 30 seconds for the next photo… how was Rantaro’s 2nd photo near the bookcase taken while the interval he reaching to the camera can’t be that long? Or… did the culprit was hiding on the top of the bookcase, touching the sensor to make it taking Rantaro’s 2nd photo?
The inner tube from case 2 : one end of the rope tied on this tube suddenly came loose after Kirumi done with her crime, and made the tube dropped into the pool. But how can a perfect maid who can complete any task without a scrape likes Kirumi made such a huge mistake?
The Caged Child book from case 3 : Kiyo said he memorized the magic circle without seeing the book. However, the magic circle on the book is different from his memory, but why there are some short lines on each side of the circle on the book? It looks like… those lines had been erased from the book. So did Kiyo draw his magic circle wrong or the book did?
The helmet from case 4 : no need to say much cuz you know its error was set up by losing memories if you mess up the cords. Someone had to know what they should do with this… they know Gonta would mix up the cords and lose his memories from the Virtual World in order to extend the class trial.
With all of those evidences in Kokichi’s room, it is safe to think Kokichi got his doubt on those evidences because he realized that the mastermind did tamper on those evidences. Why did the mastermind do that? Cuz they know Shuichi couldn’t solve the cases if they don’t let those evidence presenting at the murder scenes and they had to make sure the killing game working well. They can predict everything.
Addition to this : Kokichi’s group is a secret organization, which is why his lab is burried in the underground and not shown on the map in Rantaro’s Monopad. However, I think they would have a method to go to his lab, it just hasn’t been finished since Keebo was in rampage at the end of Chapter 5.
Tumblr media
There is a faint light radiating from above Kokichi’s lab here, so aside the staircase that is used to go to his lab, there is another way to getting in the lab from the ceiling above.
Tumblr media
Chapter 6
Tumblr media Tumblr media
There is a pillar in the garden at the prologue, but it was revealed to be an evelator hidden inside the pillar later in Chapter 6, there is a green and a red buttons on the door as well, so it’s mostly like an evelator. This evelator might have been built for Kokichi’s lab as the killing game started, but was not accessible until Chapter 6. And its likely to be the entrance going down to Kokichi’s lab, maybe the column and the interior of the evelator have some spaces allowing light to pass through, well, you might say no answer to it, so it’s just my deduction.
The Hope’s Peak History Book was buried along with Kokichi’s lab, which hadn’t been accessed until the last chapter, it’s very likely the Book was put there intentionally from the very beginning by the mastermind and Team Danganronpa. However, the Book has nothing to do with Kokichi himself, as you all know, Kokichi doesn’t get a slightly idea on who Remnants of Despair and Junko are. Otherwise, he should have known about Future Foundation and Remnants of Despair for at least. So Kokichi never touched that Book, it was the true mastermind. Kokichi was just set up to be a fake mastermind from the beginning after the killing game started, the mastermind is someone Kokichi got a lot trouble to figure out their identity, as you all know, he took all the evidences of the previous cases to his room and secretly investigated the mastermind’s motives alone, because, sadly, he got no one to trust him. But in the end, he failed to reach that goal, he couldn’t figure out the mastermind’s motives, that’s why he totally unexpected Maki trying to kill him.
So Kokichi can predict “Hope” but it is useless when comes to “Despair”, the fact that Kokichi never knows how a despair person should be, that causes him falling into a stalemate, because he can’t understand an Ultimate Despair. One more reason for him being a Pacifist. And it’s also why he had to leave the last message because he knows his plan could be failed (you know what I’m talking about if you read my post on it) but they never found out the truth behind that message, unfortunately. And because Tsumugi is just too plain to be suspicious but she’s still the Ringleader of the game show. The best guess Kokichi got is that there is an audience in this show, because he knows Monokuma can’t break the rules whatever he wants, that is pretty much unfair. Monokuma prefers the killing game to be interested, which is why Monokuma agreed on his plan to put the motive in the Virtual World. The whole audience is real, they are an integral part of the Reality Show, the game was meant to be shown, just like Junko’s killing games in the past. The Hope’s Peak History Book was put in Kokichi’s lab from the start for the shocking revelation of the final trial at the end of the game, it is the evidence responses to “your memories are all fake” and the whole fiction twist that they’re all the part of the show after Tsumugi revealed herself to be the Ringleader.
The Hope’s Peak History Book is unrelated to Kokichi, it was the intention of Tsumugi and Team Danganronpa all along.

Bad Things Happen Bingo! The event where you send me I give myself self-indulgent requests according to this marvelous card!
47-Survivor AU DR stuff in 2019?? More likely than I’ve ever thought. For those who never heard from it before, it’s an AU of mine (originally co-created with someone, though) where everyone but Junko survived out of the DR casts for DR1, 2 and V3, whom after escape Hope’s Peak began working for the Future Foundation as the 14th Branch (directed by Hajime). This fic takes place during their FF days and is, like my first prompt fill for this bingo Corrupted Flower, Maki-centric. (I dunno why, I really wanted to write about Maki. I still want to lmao).
Also, phew, can you believe we’re more than halfway done through this card? It’s weird to mostly have filled spots lmao.
Crimson Eyes
Summary: Trapped in an ambush by Despair supporters, what is a former hirewoman going to do to protect her life and the integrity of her companion?
Fandom: Danganronpa (Almost Everyone Lives AU - V3 cast-centric) Characters: Maki, Shuichi (background), Kaede (background)
Wordcount: 1.1K words
Event hosted by @badthingshappenbingo
AO3 version available here.
“Squad Alpha, HQ here! Do you copy?!”
Maki could have recognized this voice among a thousand others: Kaede, panicked and screaming into her microphone. Usually, she’d have minded: she hated irritated, agitated voices when she was supposed to be investigating on the field. There was nothing more aggravating than trying to be stealthy and have someone scream at you with no concern for how discredited they made you to sneak on people.
As it stood, she was closer to being reassured than pissed about Kaede contacting them with that high-pitched, urgency-filled, yelling voice of hers.
“Squad Alpha here,” she said into her ear microphone, hidden behind her hair and her helmet over it.
“Ah, Maki, I’m relieved to hear you! (Kaede lacked professionalism, when she was concerned). How many are you, down here? Who’s with you?”
“We’re two. We split with Mukuro before that happened. Shuichi’s with me.”
Maki glanced over her shoulder, making sure the bear-masked psychos didn’t start attacking them while she was seemingly looking away. Sure enough, Shuichi was still there, hands trembling from fear but trying to maintain his composure in the face of danger.
“Yeah, Mukuro contacted us back, she told us about the situation. Be careful, we’re sending backup asap!”
Yeah, that was good and all, but they were still trapped among the crazies. Shuichi had no training, as he had tagged along for an investigation in what they thought was a Despair-controlled research facility having long been abandoned. They had been wrong or, more exactly, she had seen it coming: Despairs weren’t the kind to simply flee away from any place they had partially destroyed and inhabited, relishing in the desperation to have destroyed one’s last home and staying there with a bunch of other junkies of the sort.
There was only disgust and contempt in her to seeing it all, the glass shards on the floor, the dried puddles of blood, the browned splashes on the walls, the Monokuma masks torn apart and hung from the ceiling, the beheaded Monokub plushies and those who had had their heads swapped out. It was like looking right into the eyes of a mass-disaster that had claimed the lives of thousands; which was the case, because they were right inside a physical representation of humanity’s worst.
To that, Maki only wanted to spit her hatred and want to destroy them all back, but she had to keep quiet and stay sharp.
She lifter her eyes to make them understand she knew they were all gathered around here, in the shadows, as she forced Shuichi to hold onto her arm. It wasn’t a sign of affection, at least not more than platonically for them: it was just her way to tell he was there, by her side, unharmed and alive. Only living people with uninjured limbs could do that, that was a thing she had been taught about in case she ever had to escort threatened figures to some places while avoiding as much as possible to see everything go up in flames and finish in a flow of blood.
There was nothing weird to make sure a friend was alive, after all.
While most of them had generic masks, one of them had this golden Monokuma head in lieu of their face, a sure sign she was directly facing their leader. It was a battle of stares, to see whom would attack the other first and who’d survive the fight. Maki and Shuichi were a measly force compared to the dozen of Enoshima followers circled around them from the broken parts remaining of other floors above. In any other situation, she’d have sneaked her way out of it and found another way out of the delicate situation to get her bounty from shitty people.
However, she had to do with what she had. She had military-level training in killing and spying, but Shuichi didn’t, having mostly detective experience and very little physical skills in. She couldn’t just give up on him despite the desperate situation, now when she was still convincing herself she was deserving redemption like Kaito was always insisting on (what an idiot…). A new plan, quick, quick…
Perhaps because of all the rotten surprises she had had in her previous years of life, Maki always had some urgency weapons on her. As she watched the followers glare at them with appetized, swirly eyes filled with a will to kill and pulverize anything going their way, yet strangely relishing in the idea that they could be busted and die on the spot from a well-targeted pull of a trigger, she put her fingers on some leftover kunai from an old, old mission. Truth be told, she had never given them back and the blood of the guilty must have still been on some of them, drier than the puddles serving as this wretched place’s décor.
Keen-eyed, trained to murder on sight and on orders, Maki gave herself her own orders now. Kaede had stopped talking, Shuichi’s breath kept hitching behind her shoulder. She was going to go to end up in Hell anyway, so better keep herself and an innocent soul out of a bloodbath and throw her weapons to escape the predicament they had gotten themselves trapped inside of. Calculating a way for six of them to eat the entire pack wasn’t difficult, more like a task she had already had to complete in more stressful conditions.
Reflexes were engrained inside her brain. First, check for their weapons: metal bats. Lethal if used violently against the skull to cast death by blunt force trauma. Second, check for their stances: all crouched and looking upon them. Unpractical to move and run away fast, exposes the back of the neck for some of them and throat for all the pack. Third, check for expressions: the masks hid everything away apart from their thirst to kill, visible in their uncovered eyes.
In all, it was a safe situation to be throwing kunai around, as long as she steadied her aim and knew exactly what to do. All that was left, once she had planned her course of action, was to make sure she wouldn’t hurt Shuichi in the process. Murder the rotten, spare the good: her humanity had survived by repeating herself that motto. She maybe believed sometimes you could save the Despairs, bring them back to normalcy, but there was no way around the issue without killing someone and getting killed if you didn’t act first. A shame, really.
 “Shuichi, crouch down.”
“H-huh?”
“I said, crouch down!”
 She threw the first kunai.

🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟 🌟
Okay this is lowkey long so let me just: Below is a “Director’s cut” of an FBTG Chapter 5 scene :3
When I wrote this scene all I wanted is one thing: for the two purple idiots to get along and talk to each other. They have been avoiding each other for four chapter back then and as someone who’s been writing all about the two of them for the first story “Getting Along”- the distance was driving me crazy. Thank god for Amami for bringing these two together again because I don’t think I can handle that for longer. My boys need to get along or at least stop pretending like the other doesn’t exist because MY HEART.But you know- oumota is oumota and it’s never going to be easy. I had a lot of trouble writing down this scene. Them actually talking about what happened didn’t feel right, didn’t feel genuinely oumota-ish. After thinking about it for a while I realized that hey- they didn’t really have to talk about it, not really. All I needed was go to the very core of their argument- Kokichi was angry that Kaito saved him, and Kaito was angry that Kokichi had the gall to say that he didn’t want to be saved. And so the scene unfolded:
“I liked it better when you called me Kokichi.”
Momota’s heart skipped a beat. He… what? He felt as if his brain short-circuited for a moment. He found himself sitting down on the edge of the bed, disbelief evident in his voice when he asked. “Really?”
There. That’s a good start. I personally adore Kokichi’s words here. He just said something that sounded off and out of topic, but to both of them that was something else- it’s an admission on Kokichi’s part that he valued the closeness they had back in the love hotel, erasing Kaito’s earlier doubts that he just used and manipulated him into being his information mule.
Ouma made a small noise that must have been a scoff. “No, that’s a lie.”
But of course Kokichi just had to pull that back in the last second, because of course he will. XD
No it wasn’t, Momota could tell. Ouma, despite being a self-proclaimed liar, was actually fairly honest… at least, that’s what the astronaut could gather from their time together. The Supreme Leader simply uses his lies to hide his vulnerabilities, to conveniently retract his statements in times like these. He uses them to protect himself. Momota found himself wondering what kind of life he had led thus far, for such a defense mechanism to be so ingrained on him.
Stop protecting yourself. I’ll protect you instead. He wanted to say, but he bit it back. Momota reached his hand out to touch his closed fist.
Kaito’s protective streak for Kokichi is something that gives me life. It makes even more sense here, especially since Kaito almost saw Kokichi die. And this part has actually been praised by my beta at the time, if I do remember correctly... because my analysis of Kokichi is spot-on, or so they said. That made me really happy.
“Kokichi.” He murmured softly.
YESSSSSSSSSSSSSS
Ouma stilled. He seemed to swallow hard as he raised his head to stare at the astronaut, and sure enough, the corner of his eyes were brimming with tears. That was nothing new, everyone has seen him cry once or twice before, but those were crocodile tears. Childish temper tantrums. This was something else. Something raw and delicate. Something… real. Momota reached over to dry the tears with his fingers. Ouma looked away as he silently sat up, shifting so he was cross legged on the bed beside him.
Silence. So many unsaid words hung in the space between them, so many things they needed to talk about. No one dared to break the ice. Because once the dam was broken, they won’t be able to stop it--- torrents of emotion so unpredictable that only god knows what will be left in its aftermath. Sitting close to each other like this in silence was a better alternative. Momota knew they were only stalling the inevitable but fuck if he wasn’t going to enjoy this momentary peace to the fullest.
I live for these moments of vulnerability. This part has been praised too! Yaaaay! I wrote the second paragraph that way because honestly- as I was writing this part I could practically feel the awkwardness between the two of them. Neither of them really wanted to talk about what happened.
Suddenly, Ouma muttered. “Let me hit you.”
Momota was confused for a moment. “Uhh… okay?”
Thump. Momota winced. Ouma swung his closed fist against his chest. It wasn’t too hard, but it was hard enough to hurt, just a little bit. Thump. Ouma wasn’t meeting his eyes. There was a certain restrained frustration in the way he moved, staring at his shirt as if it was the most interesting thing in the world. Thump. Thump. Thump. Ouma’s hands closed around his shirt, bunching some fabric on his fist as he leaned his forehead against him and took a shaky breath.
We weren’t in Ouma’s POV, so I think some people didn’t understand what’s this part for? My beta at the time certainly didn’t, either. But remember that Kokichi was just trying to come to terms with the frustration of Angie’s death- he was grateful to be alive, yes. But that didn’t mean a part of him still didn’t believe he should have died. Kaito was the entire reason he was alive, and a part of him was still pissed off that Kaito saved him. And yet, talking about it would certainly create another fire of anger between them, and Ouma was just so tired of it already. He didn’t want to open it up, and so he decided to keep his mouth shut and just hit Kaito.
Finally he murmured, so low that it was almost inaudible. “Thank you.”
He wasn’t sure if he heard correctly. “For what?”
“Saving me.”
This part, to Kaito, meant a lot. Especially after the mess that is Chapter 10 of Getting Along. As soon as I put these words in I let out a sigh of relief because by then I knew- yep, these disaster boys will be okay. :3

Shuichi Saihara and Kaede Akamatsu For the mene!
GIVE ME A CHARACTER, and I’ll break their ass down:
Shichi Saihara
How I feel about this character
Sigh, so much wasted potential. Like the fandom version of Saihara who’s relatable™ and is nice to Ouma is pretty cool, and people like him because he’s pretty much a typical YA novel protag in a way but I don’t think he’s all that good a protagonist or character. There were a lot of things I had problems with and since the game was mainly from his perspective a lot of fans and lets players that I watched fell into the trap of absolving Kaede for her actions, liking Maki (despite her many many many many flaws) and demonizing Ouma instead of looking at and appreciating the characters themselves. I don’t like how he always seems to cling to someone and puts whoever he’s clinging to on a pedestal and I was really bitter even before playing the game about Kaede being fridged for him.
Like Maki I think there’s a lot of the writer telling you to like a character so most people do but he isn’t really all that good as a person or a detective. It’s always pissed me off how much more Ouma did in investigating and trying to end the killing game than Saihara did. They definitely wouldn’t have gotten as far without Ouma but never acknowledge it, all Saihara does is continue the game through solving the trials and moving to end it at the very very end.
I might have liked him if he hadn’t been the protagonist maybe but he was and there is just so much terrible writing. Writing-wise he and Maki might be the worst written characters in the game.
One thing I want in fiction is a character in some way or another facing the consequences for their actions and when Saihara’s whole deal is he doesn’t want to do anything because he doesn’t want to face any form of negative consequence that frustrates me.
Also I don’t like his design the hat was my favorite part.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
Kiibo? As you probably noticed I’m not a huge fan of his character so I don’t really ship him a lot, I guess him and Kaede if we’re going canon but even then I prefer Kaede with other people consider how she was reduced to Saihara’s love interest when for so long we had thought of her as the protagonist leading up to the game.
My non-romantic OTP for this character
The survivor trio, I like them all hanging out after the game and all that.
My unpopular opinion about this character
If they had made Saihara a girl I think I would have liked their character a lot more, it’s unpopular because of the whole ‘weak girl stereotype’ but for me Saihara’s character isn’t about weakness it’s about learning that if you can act if you can do something then you should even if you might not like the result. If Saihara had been a girl we would have gotten a better design probably. We’ d have a female protagonist like we had been promised, Kaito would be viewed with less toxic masculinity, I would get to deal with Saiouma a lot less because no yaoi fangirls which would personally make me very happy and Kaede and Saihara would be lesbians so you know no downsides to that.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
I actually wish that he had been the second victim instead of Hoshi, 1. because Hoshi is a much more interesting character and I would have enjoyed him living longer 2. it makes more sense for Tojo to kill a detective to give her more of a chance of getting through the trial the actual hard part of escaping the school than going for the person easiest to kill. Also I think it would be interesting to see a character who is dedicated to getting stronger after losing someone close to them only for them to die anyway, it would also be really interesting for Kaito’s development to have the person he just announced he was going to take under his wing die. Also, the fans would keep waiting for whoever was the third protagonist to die only for it not to happen, I personally would have prefered Ouma as the third protagonist because it would have been such a good arc for him because he’s the only one who knows what’s going on so he’d have to try and lead the trials no one else could but to do that he’d have to figure out how to step outside his own comfort zone and his identity as a liar to get them to listen to him which I would have enjoyed watching. We’d also get Ouma insight and actually see someone properly investigating the school which is 10/10 good stuff, I understand that there are some things Kodaka couldn’t show which is why I think the perspective would be good to be switched back and forth between Kaito and Kokichi, it would be funny because the first time this happens everyone would be like ‘oh god they’ve killed off another protag and Kaito’s next’ only for Ouma to show up alive again and the perspective handed back to him again.
Either that or Tsumugi is forced to become the protagonist to keep the game moving but it would be presented as her getting out of her ‘plain girl shell’ only for the reveal that she’s the mastermind which would be a huge trip for the player.
Kaede Akamatsu
How I feel about this character
Really like her, I’m actually really into music so I loved her design and when they announced that she was going to be a protag I was skeptical thinking ‘no way are they going to give us this’ but also really excited. I liked having a more headstrong character as a protagonist and prefer her over Saihara. Super angry about her getting fridged and framed, she deserved better.
I think the fandom is doing her dirty just as much as canon did, not everyone but in a lot of fanfiction she reduced to just the supportive friend type or perky love interest or add on to the training trio, come on give her her own friend group don’t just tag her onto her love interests group. It makes me feel as if Saihara is allowed a life outside Kaede but she’s not allowed a life outside of him.
I love Kaede and her ride or die nature and the fact that she’s straight up willing to kill for her friends 3 days after meeting them and she deserves so much more than being reduced to Saihara’s love interest, Kaede dump Saihara’s bitch ass and date Tenko instead.
All the people I ship romantically with this character
Tenko! Rantaro, I think they have a good dynamic and Komaru Naegi my two underappreciated girl protags together. Other than that I’m not a huge fan of shipping her romantically with people since she was reduced to a fridged love interest in canon.
My non-romantic OTP for this character
Ouma actually, I wanted them to form a dynamic duo where they just snark at each other. Also, I like them being friends because a lot of their character is being reduced to them liking Saihara by the fandom and they both deserve so much better than Saihara honestly. Canon and Fandom did them both dirty in that regard.
My unpopular opinion about this character
Kaemaki while beautiful and gay wouldn’t work. Once Kaede learns Maki’s real talent they would have a falling out and Kaede would have as big of a prejudice as Ouma against Maki. In interviews we’re told Kaede has a strong sense of justice which is part of the reason why she tried to kill the mastermind; I see Kaede with her sense of justice and everything having a fall out with Maki when she learns her real talent. A lot of their friendship is based on Maki the SHSL ‘childcaregiver’ not Maki the SHSL assassin and Kaede wouldn’t just accept it she’d need to go through a lot before being ready to be Maki’s friend again.
One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.
Have you read “I’d Trade My life For Yours”? Because that I want that! God I wish it was an actual game for me to play, who do I have to pay to make it an actual game!? I’m not joking I’m 100 percent serious! I’d really had loved to see her continue on as the protagonist and watch her lose her optimism and grow more cynical and more like her pregame self, also watching someone start out as the leader of the group and them slowly lose that influence is really good. Also it would be so good to watch a protag go from “let’s all work together!” to “Stop murdering eachother you assholes!” just going from Naegi to Hinata through the course of the game, it would have been glorious, we could have had it all.
