Descendant's Character List Part One: AK's

I have been asked to make a list of characters who appear in my fics, both book canon and ocs, so... I apologize for how long this is going to be. (The only characters excluded on this list are those who appear in the movies).

This is everyone born before the first Descendants movie. I may add on to this list as time goes on and more characters are created. All ages are the ages at the time of D1. I headcanon that the first movie takes place in March-April of 2015, or A.C. 20

Alice:

"Ally" Allison (Canon) - First seen in Wicked World. I made "Ally" be a nickname. Longs to be a detective, and works at her mother's tea shop. 15

Aladdin & Jasmine:

Prince Aziz (Canon) - First mentioned in The Isle of the Lost. 17

Prince Amir (Canon?) - His name is said during the Tourney Game in the first movie, spelled Amir according to subtitles. His jersey says Emir, but I went with the "A" spelling and made him Aladdin and Jasmine's son. 15

Princess Jamila (OC) - The baby of the family. 12

Anastasia and Dimitri:

Princess Alina (OC) - 18

The only reason she hasn't taken over her parents kingdom was at King Beast's request to wait until Ben became High King. 32

Princess Abi (OC) - She is older than Ebba by only 6 minutes, but unlike her sister she doesn't have as strong of a call to the sea. With that said, she is still a mermaid. 16

Princess Ebba (OC) - Ebba loves the sea and everything to do with it. 16

Princess Elle (Canon-ish) I believe she was confirmed by Kenny Ortega. She was born without the use of her legs, but thanks to her grandfather, is able to transform into a mermaid. 14

Aurora and Phillip:

Prince Pierre (OC) - Audrey's older brother and heir to Aurora and Phillip's kingdom. He is dating Ruby Fitzherbert. 20

"Cinderella" Ella and Kit:

Princess Karine (OC) - Chad's younger sister. She's best friends with Reiner. 14

Maisie (OC) - The youngest of the girls and the most "lady-like". 15

Li Shang Jr (Canon) - Mentioned in Rise of the Isle of the Lost. 19.

Rapunzel and Eugene:

Princess Ruby (Wicked World) - She's in her last year of school and dating Pierre. 18

Prince Reiner (OC) - The heir to the Dark Kingdom. He's Elsie's fraternal twin, and his best friend is Karine Charming. He's also good friends with Aksel and Ben, partially due to his sister's friendship with them. 15

Princess Elsie (OC) - Reiner's fraternal twin sister. She's a lot more bubbly than her twin brother, and is best friends with Aksel and Ben. 15

Princess Edeline (OC) - She's not quite as friendly as her siblings, and is focused on ballet. 14

Princess Rosalind (OC) - She was a surprise baby and has her older siblings all wrapped around her finger. Along with most of Corona as well. 5

Aladdin dating the Avatar of Khonshu would include...

Pairings: Aladdin x Avatar of Khonshu!Reader

Warnings: Slight angst, but at least there's fluff! I'm still bad at writing headcanons, possibly OOC Khonshu (OH MY GOD DAD!KHONSHU)

A/N: Let's pretend this is set after the film and Aladdin and Jasmine decide to remain friends, okay?

How you met:

The first time he sees you, it's late at night.

Aladdin can't sleep and goes to grab a cup of water when he hears a commotion outside.

You're running across the rooftops in Agrabah, decked out in the ceremonial suit from Khonshu's temple not psycho Colonel Sanders and Aladdin is MESMERIZED.

So, he makes it a habit of staying up very a little late every night to get a glimpse of you.

Khonshu catches on to this and warns you to be more careful. When you ask him why, Khonshu's only response is: "Someone is watching."

On the seventh night, Aladdin can't seem to find you. He's sad...

...For a few seconds, until Abu freaks out and warns his human of an intruder, pointing to you just chilling on the couch (Aladdin and Abu can't see him... yet, but Khonshu is just standing there looking at you with disappointment)

In time, you two get to know each other and eventually fall in love.

Hell, y'all even learn about each other's cultures.

It takes Khonshu a while, but when he finally reveals himself to Aladdin, this is the street rat's reaction:

"Why are you so scared?" "THAT IS KHONSHU."

How it's going:

Y'all are too cute together

Aladdin calls you "Hayati" (Arabic for "my life"), and you call him "Habibi" (Arabic for "my love")

You stay up with him at night to look at the stars and he can't help but notice how beautiful you are. Khonshu yells at the both of you to go to bed after a few minutes.

MAGIC CARPET RIDE DATES 💓💓💓💓💓

Khonshu is pretty much your overprotective dad, while Genie is your chill father-in-law.

Genie and Khonshu are the grumpy/sunshine in-law duo no one expected... oh and Jasmine and Dalia are Aladdin's wingmen 😜😜

Lian and Omar (Genie and Dalia's kids/Aladdin's younger siblings) are in awe of you and ask so many questions.

"What's it like being an avatar of a scary bird god?"

"Exhausting" you half-joke, to Khonshu's dismay.

If Genie asks about grandbabies, Aladdin will blush.

For Fun: Here's My Favorite Disney Songs That Were Deleted/Changed in the Final Film (Part 3)

"High Adventure" would've seen Babkak, Omar, Kassim, and The Genie of the Ring on their way to rescue Aladdin from Jafar. This was also restored in the Broadway version.

Ashman and Menken set Aladdin aside to finish work on Beauty. By the time they got back to work on it, the script was already in the process of being rewritten. Ashman only finished two more songs before his death. "Prince Ali" and the first of what would end up being several attempts at a Jafar song, "Humiliate the Boy". (Note, in the early drafts, Genie could grant unlimited wishes, hence why this song is the way it is.)

After Ashman's death, Menken wrote both the music and lyrics for a new "I Want" song for Aladdin entitled "You Can Count On Me". Given the context of when he wrote this, this makes me tear up.

As the script came together, Menken teamed up with Andrew Lloyd Webber's former collaborator, Tim Rice to finish the songs for Aladdin. They kept "Arabian Nights", "Friend Like Me", and "Prince Ali" from earlier drafts, and wrote "One Jump Ahead", and "A Whole New World" to round it out. Menken and Rice tried two more times to write a villain song for Jafar. Their first attempt was "Why Me?" which almost made it into the Broadway show, before being cut after tryouts.

Their next attempt was "My Finest Hour". This didn't work, and they settled on a dark reprise of "Prince Ali" for the final film.

For The Lion King, Mufasa had a song called "To Be King" which I cannot picture James Earl Jones singing at all.

Timon and Pumbaa's original song, "Warthog Rhapsody" is pretty fun (I actually kinda enjoy this one more than Hakuna Matata). Its tune would be repurposed for "That's All I Need" from The Lion King 1 1/2.

Timon originally also had a verse in Hakuna Matata. This would later help inform the plot of Lion King 1 1/2.

Timon and Pumbaa also almost sang "Can You Feel The Love Tonight?" which would've been really funny in hindsight.

Most famously, Scar's reprise of "Be Prepared" where he hits on Nala was slightly repurposed i. the Broadway show as the song "The Madness of King Scar"

Apparently, there’s a deleted Aladdin song (now used in the Broadway musical) that featured Aladdin and his three friends. Yeah, Aladdin had friends in an early draft. And now I’m imagining Raine, Amber, Katya, and Derwin singing this song back when they were known as the BATTS. Like TELL ME THAT’S NOT THEIR SONG IT FITS THEM SO WELL

Aladdin couldn't help but chuckle as he watched Mozenrath's retreating back. "'You won't like what happens otherwise,'" he parroted at his friend Omar, who was standing behind him with his head in his locker. "Like he's gonna turn me into a toad or something."

"I don't know Al," Omar said, voice almost echoing, "I'd be careful. You know that kid's kinda creepy, right? He's got like, straight A's and he's really freaky. Plus there are all those rumors about his... y'know. Experiments and stuff."

"Pfft, please," Aladdin said, rolling his eyes. "The day Mozenrath successfully blows up the school is the day I graduate, Omar. It might never happen, and if it does it'll be a miracle."

Omar shook his head, grabbing his history folder. "You're gonna be late to chemistry," he said instead of responding, and Aladdin rolled his eyes fondly, shoving Omar's shoulder.

"Late, schmate. I'm skiving off."

"What? But you can't! Moze will tattle for sure since he's just seen you!"

Aladdin sighed. "Are you gonna be anxious about this all day?"

"Yes!"

Omar looked just desperate enough for Aladdin to believe him. "Alright, I'll go," he conceded. "But only because of my deep fondness for you."

Omar smiled brightly. "The goodness of your heart knows no bounds," he said, and Aladdin laughed.

Chemistry was understandably Aladdin's least favorite subject: the teacher there had it out for him, he was sure of it. Still, he'd promised Omar, and if there was one thing Aladdin prided himself on it was keeping his promises. So, with another sigh, he shuffled off to class, chemistry book tucked beneath his arm.

When he reached the classroom it was full; the bell rang just after he'd managed to get both feet in, marking him on time... if only by the skin of his teeth. Unfortunately, now it was too late to back out, something Aladdin fervently wished he could do because the only seat available...

was, of course, next to Mozenrath.

Omar owed Aladdin. He owed Aladdin big.

Aladdin didn't look at Mozenrath as he slid into the seat beside him, though it was a tough thing to avoid. Mozenrath generally drew the eye, if only because with his long hair and pale skin he stuck out to Aladdin like a sore thumb. Maybe he'd ignore Aladdin for most of the period; maybe they could get through this without a fight.

firmly convinced myself today that Omar was being set up for a route (as i’ve already mentioned) but also that his plot was going to be pretty dang interesting, actually.

maybe it’s just me, but it seems they really tried their hardest to make him seem quite ordinary and to make us all but overlook him. if so, that might have been the point (or just who the character is, self-effacing boy that he is), but then they deliberately draw your attention to him in Lavinia’s s3. Omar helping along the relationship between FMC and Lavinia, him wishing for a romance of his own, Lavinia labeling him as the mysterious type.

though there were hints much earlier that there was more to him than meets the eye. we can infer from his tussle with Edward that the vizier is after him for his lamp. so, presumably, this “Aladdin” is still a thief.

and then you think about why a man with a magic lamp that can grant him just about any wish, essentially warping reality... would be living out his life in anonymity in ruralish New England. he might be sincere when he says he just wants to be normal, but also? the guy’s gotta be in hiding. and hiding something—something big.

i don’t think anyone could be at fault for overlooking Omar—i certainly did, for the longest time. and i certainly will have to wonder forever now what his route would have been like.
