While the climax of Dunmesh [here’s your warning for spoilers] gives us an extremely thorough look into Laios’s psyche and his own desires, we don’t actually know that much about Falin, despite her “death” kicking the entire story into motion. The only bits of Falin we get to see are through the lens of other characters, who inherently show us their own biased perceptions of her. I’d go as far to say that Falin is actually the character in Dungeon Meshi who’s true desires we know the least about!

We know with absolute certainty at least a few things: Falin is gifted with powerful magic, wants to follow behind and travel with her brother who she deeply respects, loves her friend Marcille, likes fruits and creams, loves insects and is curious about monsters, once again like Laios… most of the things we learn about Falin are things that she has in common with her brother, but what does SHE want, deep down? How does she feel about everything? I don’t think we’ll fully get an answer to that question before the manga is over. This is definitely on purpose though, and has even been hinted at in the text (which I’ll get to later).

In my opinion the main difference between Falin and Laios is that Falin doesn’t want to hurt anyone besides herself (for the sake of others, and she barely knows who that self is) and Laios wants to hurt anyone who he “doesn’t like” (anyone who endangers him and those he loves). Both of these feelings stem from the same shared events of their childhood where they both began to feel “disconnected” from humanity so to speak, but they reacted to it in opposite ways.

Where Laios stubbornly ran away and refused to deal with being hurt and surrounded by hurt, Falin, who we rarely see making choices based on any desires for herself (staying in the academy for 8 years after being sent by her father despite not thinking it’s for her, nearly agreeing to marry Shuro just so that she doesn’t have to deal with being asked later, etc.), doesn’t object to anything she’s subject to because the only person being “hurt” in these scenarios is herself, which to her is acceptable. She accepts the fact that she’s considered “othered” extremely easily, and this reflects openly in both her behavior and in the few things we know about her: she connects with and cares deeply for spirits despite being ostracized, admires insects and monsters like her brother, and is even fine planning to take on a job that’s revered in her hometown. To Falin, being “othered” is more normal to her than the alternative

The only people in Falin’s life that make her feel like *more* than just an outsider are Laios and Marcille. As a result Laios and Falin end up with similar sounding mindsets on the surface; "As long as [the people I love] are okay, I don't care about anything else" — but underneath, they actually manifest completely differently! Where Laios “doesn’t care about people”, Falin cares deeply about them despite barely being treated as one.

The only *active* decision from Falin we see that most obviously reflects her deepest desires is her choice to die for those she loves, which I think says a lot about her.

I think that if Laios is “a human who wants to become a monster” because he hates humans due to his past, the most obvious foil to him is Kabru, “a human who wants to destroy monsters” because of his past in Utaya (and feeling like a monster himself). Thinking of them as two ends of a spectrum, in the grey middle ground of this is where I think I’d put Falin.

She’s simultaneously a human made subhuman, a monster made to follow Thistle, a “ghost” of her former self haunting Laios and Marcille — she really IS the absolute epitome of a “chimera”.

The Lion cursing Laios was the “hinting in the text” I talked about earlier: forcing his deepest desire into something seemingly impossible to achieve, a chimera. The surface level conclusion when reading this is that Falin won’t be revived, but I seriously don’t think it’ll be that simple in the end. After all, a chimera is multifaceted.

My hope for the final chapter of Dungeon Meshi is that, *if* by some chance Falin is revived, she will finally have to grapple with not only having to look deep within herself to answer all of these things for her own sake, but also with having the one opportunity in which she chose to use any sort of agency to act upon her deepest desires not only be completely reversed, but also hurting so many people in the process. When Falin is revived in the Red Dragon arc, she doesn’t even remember sacrificing herself for her friends — but she promises Laios to never do it again, falling back into her typical submissive obedience. How would she react the second time? Will we even get to know? Something tells me, probably not.

incoming: another fucking voltron rant because i watched a langst edit and now i wanna cry😭😭

they did not take time. they did not slow that show down for a little bit. especially for lance. cause he did not getting a fucking moment to find himself again after he FUCKING DIED. we saw him homesick, we saw him missing his family, we saw him insecure about his position on the team, we saw him insecure about himself, but we never actually saw him go anywhere else but being sad. he really did get barely any character development.

and tbh i feel like in a way just all the characters didnt have a moment to slow down. and i know, i know, its a kids show, its about fucking robots for fucks sake, theyre in the middle of a war. which, yeah. youre right. but there couldve been so much more, for him, for all of them. what about them? as people, with feelings. where are there emotions. why is it only sadness and happiness and not the enitre confusing spectrum of emotion between. does pidge not feel lost after she finds her brother? yeah, hes back, but i bet she didnt imagine she would be fighting an intergalactic war, and now matt is too. she imagined family dinner, brother barging into her room, dad making corny jokes, house happier and full of life.

hunks family was put in a fucking work camp. he had seen this across the galaxy, zarkons army imprisoning people, making them work, killing them. did he imagine that for earth ? did he imagine that for his family? how the fuck did he cope fighting a war, anxious as he is? how did he cope at all?

shiro isnt even in his fucking original body. thats fucking weird. im not saying that in a rude way bc like yeah, organ transplants are a thing irl, and a major life saving thing they are ! but like, how odd it must be to have someone elses kidney or heart in your body. nevermind to have your entire soul and conciousness put into another body, you but not really you.

keiths life,,, dude probably just doesnt even give anything a second fucking thought anymore. but like, could they not have shown him showing some more emotion. fair enough if he doesnt always cry in the moment but rather late on, but you'd think seeing allura die, they wouldve at least put some tears in his eyes. he had fucking no one before he had voltron. only shiro, and even then he was alone for so long when shiro had been on his mission. you cant tell me he didnt want to think of voltron as his family. they bonded :(

and lance, gosh lance. i feel like, if we looks at this as it is, lance would be the character that people think back on and go "oh yeah, he helped me accept my emotions, he helped me become the best version of me and gain confidence in who i am". in the fandom hes seen as someone with big emotions that he wears on his sleeve, but also someone who will put everyone else and their needs before himself.

he's a story of self-sacrifice, quite literally. he's the story of sincere love, of casual admiration. he's the story of the most wonderful friend, of loyalty, of no, I'll step down because there's a cause bigger than me, and im not the one for the job when there's people like my friends and you on the team.

and no one wanted to explore that? no one wanted to see him do more than just, what? flirt and literally die and fall in love and barely find his place on team voltron? that was it for him. it shouldn't have been, but it was.

I'm awake in the middle of the night still thinking about how Unusual the romantic subplot is in Tron 1982.

So, when I was growing up there was a formula most movies followed. If there was a romance, it would usually go like this:

Main character is single at the beginning. He's a regular guy, not particularly book-smart or serious or responsible, just a relatable dude. He likes women but doesn't currently have one in his life.

He meets the love interest. She's conventionally attractive, not particularly interesting personality-wise, and in most cases she's single too. If she has a guy of her own, he's clearly shown to be a Bad Guy.

Main Character and Love Interest fall in love. This follows one of a few common tropes. Usually either Instant-Mutual-Attraction-then-Fight-then-Makeup, or He-Likes-Her-She-Hates-Him-and-he-Persistently-Wins-Her-Over. If she has a boyfriend, this will involve a breakup and probably a fight where Main Character triumphs over him.

Then they live happily ever after, and the movie closes with the satisfaction of having shown the Relatable Regular Guy Getting The Girl because he's the Main Character and deserves it.

Now, contrast this with the love story in Tron, and see how I'm blown away:

Main Character is (sorta) the Regular Guy trope: he's said to be a computer genius, but too fun-loving and irresponsible to get very far in life with it.

Love Interest is conventionally attractive, yes, but more personality and intellect than you usually see, and also… she's NOT HIS love interest. She's his ex. And without any real animosity on either side! They're still friendly with each other, and she and her new boyfriend start events in motion by going to visit him and offer help.

New BF is an absolute NERD. He spends his leisure time at home balancing his checkbook with an abacus. The angriest we ever see him is when he gets told he can't go to WORK for a couple of days. Love Interest experienced Main Character's fun-loving immaturity and then picked someone on the absolute other end of the intellect and responsibility spectrum.

And they clearly are happy together! There is definite friendliness and flirtation between the exes, but her commitment is 100% to her new guy.

New Guy is the ONLY one who shows some real resentment about that previous relationship. And that evaporates in the course of that one visit to Main Character's place.

Now, even if you manage to ignore the rainbow flags decorating Main Character's apartment all over, and the seductive striptease that TOTALLY appears to be WORKING on New Boyfriend…

…even then, you're STILL left with a very unconventional scenario at this point, where Main Character has made ZERO progress toward breaking Love Interest up with her current guy-- and in fact has bonded with him to the point of getting him to agree to help with a crazy scheme that's gonna kickstart the main plot.

Which, of course, takes place in a world inside the computer system where the Programs written by people on the outside are living entities who share their faces and personality traits, and… this, too, messes with the usual course of the Romantic Subplot, in amazing ways.

Ex Love Interest and her New Guy have programs living inside the computer, and those two programs are also in an established relationship, although they've been separated by Guy Program getting captured, locked up and made to fight as a gladiator. When he escapes, with Main Character and another friend, he gets separated from them and thinks they've been killed and the first thing he does is find Her-- because 1. he is overwhelmingly in love with her and 2. she is the only one who knows the route and all the devices he'll need in order to get where he's trying to go.

Main Character is the only one who's entered this computer world. Ex and New Guy's real-world selves are on the outside, and from this point on, their part in the plot consists of New Guy having to be there to receive a communication from his Program. Which he does, like the best and most loyal friend, enabling a happy ending for the whole team.

Meanwhile, Main Character's involvement in any "love story" consists of one moment when he's in the computer system, alone with his Ex's Program and about to pull a stunt that might get him killed, and they kiss.

Now, she meets him at least halfway, and seems to be very much INTO this kiss, although it also seems that kissing is not a thing Programs usually do and she may not have any idea what it means to him.

So, I wouldn't say Main Character has noble intentions here. He's not sure he's going to survive, he's with someone who closely resembles his Ex that he still has Feelings for, he WANTS one last kiss from her and he can easily take advantage of the fact that she doesn't know what kissing even means. Definitely not his most ethical moment.

But her response shows just how free she is-- perhaps how free her entire world is-- from human hangups and taboos involving romance.

After clearly enjoying the kiss, she also clearly realizes that it's an expression of affection. Later, when she's reunited with her own partner, she immediately tries it out on him, to their mutual delight-- and with no sign of anger or guilt about how she learned it! She is ecstatic to be together with her soulmate again, but she also has only good things to say about Main Character's last moments in the system. From her perspective, all that happened with the kiss was "This weird awesome stranger showed me a new way to touch someone I love, and now we're gonna have so much fun with that!"

Back on the outside, Main Character doesn't "get the girl," or fight and triumph over the Other Man. Instead, he gets a scene reuniting with BOTH of them, in one big group hug.

Just IMAGINE if this had been the norm. If it'd been the sort of romantic subplot we all saw most commonly in our formative years, shaping our whole idea of how love works.

Just freaking IMAGINE.

All in the Family: ACOTAR PART II

Welcome back to our multi-part lesson on ACOTAR and Family Systems! Today’s topic is family roles, the interplay between them, and their combination’s influence on the nuclear family emotional process in the Inner Circle.

Pre-requisites: Part I

Creds: license and mf master's degree in counseling babyyy. and unhinged enough to write it all down.

No content warnings, just garden variety family dysfunction.

oh my god what the fuck does that mean

Let's back up and start with the structure of the IC pre-Archeron invasion. We have Rhysand, Cassian, Azriel, Morrigan, and Amren in a found family. This is where we have to suspend our disbelief a bit, because you’ll notice there are no parents in this family. However that doesn’t mean no one functions as a parent, because in any system there is a hierarchy, at least in an emotional sense, and the power vacuum will always get filled.

When a parent is missing from a nuclear family, very often one of the children will step in to fill the role and rebalance the system. Older siblings caring for younger ones, female children picking up housework, even phrases like calling someone the “man of the house” confer symbolic authority and responsibility to someone theoretically on the same level as the others. The dark end of this road is emotional incest, when parents rely on a child emotionally in the same way they would a spouse, a dynamic that is deeply inappropriate and incredibly damaging for a child.

Okay, so let’s talk about sibling position to see who is most likely to step up. This is a found family, so obviously none of these are based in biology, but if we look at the core four, they have a pretty clear birth order layout in terms of both power and personality. 

Rhys: A textbook oldest child - responsibility-seeking, serious, tending toward leadership roles. Oldest children often feel the burden of setting a good example for others. Prone to relieving anxiety via control.

Az and Cas: Classic ends of the middle child spectrum (invisible to hyper-visible). Middle children are flexible, adaptable, and competitive, and often struggle with questions identity. They may seek to meet needs for connection and validation in unhealthy ways.

Mor: Baby of the family energy through and through. Youngest children are more likely to be outgoing, creative, and rebellious, and struggle with inferiority and self-centeredness. Interestingly, they’re also more likely to abuse alcohol and are overrepresented in psychiatric populations.

Amren, hilariously, comes across as an only child - they tend to be wise, independent, and private, struggling with social skills and receiving criticism. (1)

So who’s filling our parental roles here in the IC? Who has power over the others? Rhysand is an obvious choice - he regularly makes decisions for the group as well as individual members on the basis of his feelings and his political position. I think you could even argue Rhys sees the people of Velaris as his children, too, though he definitely plays favorites lol. Amren also emerges as a person with power, given everyone is afraid of her and she has influence over Rhys. Amren has some authority over the others, though she is less invested in their personal lives and so functions differently in the system than Daddy Rhys.

So Rhys is one parent, and Amren is like a weird aunt. It’s very normal in systems with a parentified child (PC) that the other children feel resentful - they’re all supposed to be on the same level, and yet one of them has been exalted above the rest. The PC can respond to this so many ways - force, charm, control, bribes, threats, ignoring them - it’ll depend on the person and the individual system. But the PC will also feel that counter-resentment and leverage the power position to create balance in the family (Cassian, Azriel, stop trying to kiss your sisters). The irony is that, in this system, no one asked Rhys to be in power over his friends - he decided he wanted them in his court and blurred those lines himself. I suspect this was intentional, though likely unconscious, because it gives him a nuclear option if he ever needs to reestablish order and control in his family. We see him pull rank in tense personal moments that have literally nothing to do with politics despite his excuse they do.

(I do think, though, that there’s an argument to be made here that, for people in certain positions of prominence and influence, all your choices are political. Your image is part of your power and so, by extension, the parts of your personal life that become public have an effect on your ability to rule. Rhys and Feyre use this rationale with Nesta in ACOSF, though my babe isn’t exactly a Hunter Biden. More of a Claudia Conway, I’d say.)

Let's go back to our scary image from the beginning.

Bowen believed in the importance of visualizing this structure, so he advocates for family mapping or construction of a genogram (2). Given what we’ve unpacked so far, we can roughly plot the individual connections and hierachy. I’ve created this one to show the basics of the relationships and power structure in the IC, and we’ll get more specific from here.

If you remember from my last post, one of the most important forces in a family is the triangle. Take another look at the triangles above, and see which ones seem unstable to you. The one that immediately stands out to me, even just visually, is the Cas/Az/Mor triangle. Each individual relationship has a different tenor, which creates a lot of instability. You can see how Mor needs that closeness with Cas to balance the tension with Az, but in order to keep their relationship stable, Cas and Az have Rhys as a moderating presence. Because what is the one thing they all have in common? A close relationship with Rhys. And Rhys has Amren to reinforce his power and responsibility, keeping the whole system in balance.

In this way, the IC’s system, while dysfunctional, is relatively stable pre-Archerons.

To understand how that’s possible, we have to talk about anxiety. Anxiety is the main energy that moves conflict through the family and sets off the nuclear family emotional process (NFEP). Anxiety must go somewhere. In enmeshed systems like this one (members’ emotions and security are highly dependent on one another), members relieve their anxiety through the system instead of resolving it individually or in dyads. In cut off, emotionally distant systems, anxiety gets internalized or displaced outside the family.

Given the sheer variety of relationships in the system, the most likely source of anxiety is Morrigan. She has a different relationship to every person in the system. She’s in the middle of the power hierarchy between the “parents” and the “kids”, and floats around inside the relatively stable triangle of the bat boys, with individual connections to each one . She also has a pattern of internal conflict that she moderates externally via alcohol and relationships. Despite not having the most power externally, Mor’s actions and reactions often cause the rest of the system to shuffle around her, giving her a great deal of power.

But don’t just take my word for it - let’s look at this in action.

Say Mor, Cas, and Az go out together bc apparently that is something they do regularly. Mor feels Azriel getting too close, which triggers her anxiety because she does not want to talk about whatever is between them. In response, she communicates her displeasure by leveraging the triangle and focusing her intimate attention on Cassian. But this creates conflict for Cassian, who wants to moderate Mor’s anxiety without rupturing his relationship with Azriel. Hence, we get the weird overfamiliar platonic besties routine, threading the needling of giving Mor the protection she’s asking for without out-and-out antagonizing his brother. Azriel buries his hurt feelings and retracts emotionally, despite wanting to be connected, and they go back to how they were.

So we can see how Mor has generated the anxiety, and it follows down the chain: she passes it off to the boys, who deal with it through emotional cutoff (Az) and enmeshment (Cas). Cassian steps in between the conflict at Mor’s unconscious request and takes inappropriate responsibility for Azriel’s feelings of rejection and Mor’s anxiety, while Az puts his feelings away and reestablishes emotional distance. This is the NFEP in action.

And yet Cassian and Azriel are still shown to be close, so where do these feelings go? I mean, they do physically fight each other all the time lol. Azriel banks a lot of repressed resentment he has to discharge elsewhere. Cassian feels the burden of peacemaking and internalizes the unresolved conflict as his own fault, doubling down on his commitment to making it better. Mor avoids contending with her own feelings because everyone else is doing it for her.

And here’s where Rhys becomes a moderating presence for all of them. Rhys has ultimate decision-making power over who is in and who’s out of the family, and sets the rules of engagement. He decides who gets respect, who’s allowed to initiate conflict. Rhys hold’s the power in the bat boys triangle, the strongest alliance in the system, incentivizing Cas and Az to get along with each other. He also incentivizes Mor/Cas/Az to keep their shit together because Amren has influence over him, and they need their alliance to leverage power against her. Rhys doesn’t have a problem with the buffer, so they rest of them “don’t” either.

The best question to ask when it comes to dysfunction is this: who benefits? We can see this in larger systems, too: who benefits for housing disparity, patriarchy, systemic racism, ableism, homophobia and transphobia? People in power. If a system is balanced via dysfunction, it’s because whoever is in power wants it that way. With families, this is often more unconscious - perhaps Rhys is just as afraid of family disintegration as Mor, and believes addressing their issues will cause them to split. Perhaps there is a more generational pattern at play. I think it’s worth considering not just how this family functions, but what conscious and unconscious choices are being made given their individual families of origin.

And then the Archeron’s come, and all these cracks will be exposed and the system will get blown to shit. See you next time, class dismissed!

Names!

My name is Storm(y) but I also go by Charm and Fiction. I go by she/they/he/ it!!

The reason I go by multiple names is due to me having been on the internet for... since I was born, practically.

Both of these names have a special place in my heart, though Charm has more of an explanation and Fiction is what I prefer to be named online.

The name "Stormy" comes from my middle name which is just the word Storm. It holds no significance more than just me disliking my birth name and chosing my middle name felt like it would be easier on those who do know me. I have also used this name on a self insert I made of me (not for me, of me. Trust me it is very different to make a self-insert that was made in your image than one you made just to project onto.)

"Charm", however, was a name i fell in love with because I am apart of the Fnaf Fandom. This name was made for a "self-insert" oc i made for satire, the thing is, I ended up expanding the OC's lore so much, but since it was "self-insert" I guess I just stopped taking it as a joke when my brain hyperfixated on the OC. The name has applied to me only because I still consider that OC a "self-insert", truly made for my Indulgence.

"Fiction" is my last name, no, not my actual last name, just my last preffered name. Fiction was another self indulgent name I made for another OC, this was made during a time of major depression where I would spend my day projecting onto my characters and enjoying parasocial relationships with them. Its not a name that means anything good, but this is the reason I use the internet, so I kept it.

I have said above that Fiction is my preffered name online, yet I would truly be fine and maybe happier if you do use my other names as well, especially for more lighthearted conversations. My names may change depending on the circumstance.

Also, I have certain personal depending on the name, Storm is what I draw most commonly as I based the design off myself truly, Charm is technically a furry, but like, robot.... fnaf. Thats my only explanation. Fnaf like Freddy. Except its a fox. Idk. Uhm. Fiction doesn't have a design, but they have alot of emotions behind her, so I'll probably draw them but she is gonna change... alot. No depiction of them is gonna stay the same. Ever.

In conclusion:

Storm is just a name I use for convenience and with family/close friends and in a way that connects to me as a person.

Charm is a name I use for self indulgence purposes and for happier/lighthearted conversations.

Fiction is the name I chose to express my thoughts and is used in a more depressing/serious type of conversation.

These names will switch alot however, sometimes storm or fiction will be the self-indulgent ones, sometimes Fiction will actually be happy and not just my "damn, depressive episode!!" name, sometimes my names will just have no meaning but usually I feel I prefer them during specific circumstances. Plus... sometimes I might find a new name I like for a bit and sometimes ill try testing out a new name.. ice been thinking Mimic for a bit and the name Allen has crossed my mind a few times... but for now sticking with the names above would probably be best.

Everyday I am more convinced that I am in the ace/aro spectrums. I just don't seem to be into romance as much as most people around me. It's weird and confusing even though I am already in my 30s.

I can count on one hand the people I had romantic or sexual feelings for and apparently it is not common to be that few.

I just watched a video where the person was commenting on the dating scene nowadays and how it's hell, but at the end there was a personal account and questioning about that they might be aromantic and I found it mostly relatable. Especially when the person said they did things in the past mostly out of curiosity and because it was expected from them instead of actual desire.

It is especially confusing to be in the middle and all my life I seemed to figure out things later because of that middle. I am not in any extreme. I am interested in sex, but not often enough. I seldom like people romantically. I don't like just one gender. I am somewhere between extremes in every aspect and it's tiring trying to label exactly what that middle is so I guess I can just say that I am somewhere in the middle, romantically and sexually.

The video also made me think about how I see my future and I remembered my friend (that started thinking she was bisexual and eventually figured out she is a lesbian) saying that she couldn't see her future with a man. In my case, I honestly can't see myself having one fixed partner. Living together with someone sure, but I want to keep my freedom and them to keep theirs. Everytime I thought about my wishes for the future I am having my own place, a cat or two, a beareable job, painting in my free time, going out and meeting exciting people and exploring new places. When I think about it it's odd how I never imagined a relationship ever since I was a kid and society was telling me that is what I should aim for.

Yeah I never vibed with the "second gender" thing. (No shade here either, I have sure READ it!) An old old old friend came up with the term "endotype" so that's what I go with and that's the vibe. And the roles are kind of more flexible in my system because the endotype is a spectrum.

The core of the concept is that you have a spectrum with Omega on one side and Alpha on the other and Beta dead center, but it's not a trinary system. It's more common to be somewhere between Beta and Alpha/Omega than to be Just Alpha/Beta/Omega. Though "True" A/B/Os do exist. Given how it works, they may slide on the spectrum over time though.

Okay one fun detail from this AU: Dirk has a fairly rare condition that causes his endotype to yo-yo between Alpha and Omega pretty regularly. Instead of a slow year or years long process, Dirk will wake up one day like "..... aw fuck" and know he's sliding the other way again, and in like a month or two his endotype will flip. He finds it really annoying. Jake is very sympathetic but deep down is fistpumping bc it means Jake gets whatever he wants. The universe bends to Jake English's whims, even in AUs.

I have yet to nail down how I want endotype to manifest anatomically. I'm not personally vibing with the idea of "male omega and female omega are different" so perhaps endotype is linked to anatomy while your gender is... just your gender. It's presentation and choice above all else? Maybe.

As far as roles, these are BROAD STEREOTYPES but:

Alphas: The Service Top endotype. Alphas are predisposed to taking care of everyone around them and seek to create emotional harmony and prioritize what's best for the group. They can be depended on to do tasks for pack cohesion but aren't as comfortable making decisions. Carrying out decisions, awesome, cool, but they are the person who will drive everyone out to dinner but do not ask them to choose where to go, for god's sake.

Omegas: The Soft Power Boss endotype. Omegas are the territorial ones, they want things a certain way and prioritize direction. They're super aware of the emotions going on around them and will poke and prod things to go their way. They will choose where the pack is having dinner, and everyone is relieved someone here can make a fucking decision. A pack without omegas or low betas would lack direction probably.

Betas: Middle of the road! Most betas are close to one of the two sides of the spectrum, so inherit traits from that side. A True Beta so to speak functions best on their own, getting shit done. Best example: Roxy, in my AU, is a true Beta, and she and Dirk trade off being the pack leader, but Roxy is also the main breadwinner for the pack with a really lucrative programming job, and having the thing she contributes the most be not linked to pack cohesion makes her happy. She'd LOVE to rope someone else into being Pack Leader already, god, its so exhausting.

You're very smart and protective of your friends, plus you're nice to your friends, which include a lot of people

Yumeko admires how you never let anyone intimidate you or insult you, you always keep your head up high and for that, she finds herself falling more and more for you

She definitely reads gothic literature that you recommend and she loves seeing you rant about outfit choices, it's fascinating to her and she just likes seeing you excited about something

Definitely wants to try some goth outfits on sometime since it doesn't fall under one label, it's a spectrum and she'd love to learn more

Here's a question for you--which cats do you think come from really big families, and how well do they get along with their siblings?

Jennyanydots came from a really big family for certain - she was one of 13 total kittens. She was somewhere in the middle-ish of 8 queens (5 elder and 3 younger) from her mother's first mate. After her father and mother parted ways and her stepdad came into the picture, she got a whole new four younger siblings, three of them being the only toms in the whole bunch (a set of twins and the baby). Jenny gets along with her siblings to the extent that most cats do - she favours some over others, some are more annoying than others, etc.; but she would drop everything and anything she was doing for any of them at any time (she was very much a "Hey, only *I* can make fun of them like that, watch it, buster" type of sister). Home life was very loud and very chaotic, but in a way that was about as organized as you can make a group of 13 kittens at various stages of development). Being the big lady in charge meant that there were plenty of cats available for her to boss around (including her older sisters), and that was often the sound that first greeted visitors to the Junkyard when Agrona's brood was hanging around the clearing.

Skimbleshanks' family wasn't particularly *large*, but he had four older sisters (three from one litter, and then the fourth was born a few years before him). He was treated very much as a doll as a young kitten, with his triplet eldest sisters doing the cat equivalent of pushing him around in a pram (I supposed carrying him around by the scruff) and dressing him in their doll clothes and putting his hair in ribbons. He didn't particularly mind the doting when he was very young, but when he got a little older, he was struggling out of their grip and running from them when they asked if he wanted to "play" (which just meant getting him involved in more of whatever they wanted to do in ways that were, frankly, humiliating). They also used to try and persuade him and Madeline into doing things for them so they would take the fall if it went sour (Everlasting forbid their grandmother caught them doing anything). His favourite sister (and by favourite, I mean she and he basically grew up together at the same time so fire-forged friends) was Madeline - they used to chase chickens together, and she was the one who tagged along with him on his first train ride.

Technically speaking, Tugger and Munkustrap come from a relatively larger group of scattered half-siblings, though they never particularly met many - if any - of Deuteronomy's older children. They had long since moved up and on when they were born, so relationship wise, they're pretty much non-existent in their memories or their acquaintanceship. The relationship between the two of them specifically is...complicated.

Also on the technicality spectrum, Jellylorum has fostered dozens of kittens, so Etcetera has considered nearly half the Junkyard youngins her "siblings" at one point - she is a very responsible sister and Junkyard guide and takes her duty very seriously and only holds them upside down because they are slippery and teaches them crocodile tears *for emergencies*, obviously (she's obsessed with her big brother Mungojerrie on the other paw and would trail after him all the time, everyday, until he started branching off from the nursery and then the Junkyard altogether).

Rpg Anon: At this point, Natsumi will at least be 3-4 years older than Genji. I see he likes older woman. And humorously, you'd think I'd imagine Genji and Natsumi being together as more or less Hinazumi x Fuyupeko, but I kinda see it more as Hinazumi x Ibuki x Fuyupeko. Cuz you know, Natsumi totally gonna be a punk rock gal now. Akihiro is totally the one who gets scolded a lot by Mahiru, isn't he? Also, if he's a playboy, tell me about his escapades of charming gals and possibly even guys. If the typical anime trend is gonna follow, he's gonna end up with the tough gal. If Sayu has Mahiru's short temper, I can see her being a bit of salty rage quitter at times. Compared to Chiaki and Hajime, she's probably not on their level yet so I assume she gets really pissed when they kick her ass in games.

Joey hid behind her, looking around at the seadweller club the humans disguised as trolls found themselves in for jeevik week. The venue seemed to change just as they had gotten used to Cridea's hive party and were mingling with some trolls with Xefros' help. Of course, everyone's favorite friendly clown Marvus made sure that they weren't getting in trouble at the party, mostly he just wanted to look out for his lowblood friends.

Jeevik week day 2 had brought them to a club, Finz, located somewhere in the seadweller district. Everything was so fancy. Sometimes there were things made from solid gold. Cridea had handed them a bunch of cash before she disappeared into the partying crowd, apparently the dollars marked high were the only thing worth trading. Xefros was more anxious about the hundred bills, making Joey take them because she was so laid back about it.

"Omg! Cridea told me about You guYs! Love the horns bY the waY, theY reallY are blending in prettY well!"

"What! These- These aren't fake!" Xefros' eyes widened. He looked petrified.

"Dont worrY! Trust me when I saY this, no one cares. At least not here, people care about paryting and the music. It's not like in Outglut where You have to worrY about the heiress bombing us." She looked so laidback.

Isabel stole a look around the room noticing how all trolls from the hemospectrum mingled with one another. No one was terrified, no one was scared. It was convival.

"Even if someone causes a problem, we have some people to deal with." She giggled and put her hand on Xefros' shoulder. "MY matesprit is prettY strong." She nodded at the bar behind them. "Oh, You can call me Zilvie bY the waY. I'm a co-owner of this fine establishment,"

"Oh! I'm Joey, and this is Xefros, and my friend Isabel!"

"I... Still don't understand half of the things happening around us right now," Isabel whispered to Xefros, idly playing with the ends of her pink hair.

"Wait, co-owner? Does that mean the heiress owns this too?" Xefros asked.

"No, sillY! MY moirail and I own this place together, our whole deal was to create a place where people could mingle and feel safe,"

"Wow, that's not what I expected..."

"Wait, what did you expect?" Isabel looked around at all the grey-skinned trolls with candy corn colored horns. "Was something supposed to happen? Is this where we actually die?"

"Well... No one really knows what seadweller's are like, violet and fuschia kind of stick to their own crowd." Xefros was sweating and fidgeting alot, glancing at Zilvie every one in a while. Was he expecting her to cull him?

"The culture is fairlY different between the lower bloods on the spectrum, let's be honest." She chuckled. "AnYwaY! I hope You enjoY the partY," As quickly as she appeared from the crowd she had disappeared into the crowd again, although she was taller than most trolls she still blended into the sea of colors. With no idea where Cridea went Xefros and Joey looked a little lost. The trio were standing there, just standing without doing anything else.

"hey, wazz up lil rusties"

"Marvus!" Joey's face lit up and she relaxed.

"(oh no we're going to die)" Xefros whispered to Isabel.

"I ain't gon cull u wym" Marvus chuckled and ruffled his hair, towering over the three of them. "I saw u three bored so I figured I'd say hi lol :o)"

"It's just a little overwhelming is all, I mean, all these... trolls everywhere."

"Crowds get a lil easier more u be with 'em" Marvus shrugged. "Don't worry tho I could get you some seats" It surprised Isabel when he flashed finger guns and then waved for them to follow him.

For a juggalo and a purpleblood Marvus was the kindest they've encountered so far, even if he let Chahut hold Xefros and Isabel while Joey played his murder game. He was still very kind and very forgiving. The larger than life troll had sauntered over to table quite literally in the middle of the club. It was situated to face the stage where some lowblood seemed to be performing.

At further inspection there was someone sitting at the table. Another troll-- obviously cause why wouldn't they be a troll-- with violet colored hair. Their horns leaned toward another with a piercing connecting them at the pointed end. Red sunglasses covered their eyes and headphones hung around their neck. They wore a black hoodie over a dark violet turtle neck. Like the rest of the trolls there was a violet-colored symbol smack dab in the middle of their hoodie.

"/\Mmarvus I told you I'mm busy with sommethinng here./\" The troll didn't look up, just typing away on their husktop.

"yea I kno" The clown sat down and his eyes flickered to Xefros, Isabel, and Joey. "jo an her friends need somewhere to sit an this is the only open table"

"Oh, hey, that's the guy with the eye patch thingy up there." Isabel pointed at the mustard blooded troll. "What was their name..."

"Cirava." Xefros answered all too quickly, following suit as Joey sat down with the violet-blooded troll.

"So, I'm Joey and this is-- "

"/\Yea yea. I donn't have timme for mminnglinng./\"

"So, you're like some fish DJ?" Isabel asked.

Marvus' still looked pretty laidback but she noticed he tensed up a bit, looking the other way rather quickly. Xefros also looked like he was silently panicking, but he always was silently panicking.

"/\I amm nnot just a *fish DJ* actually callinng mme a fish is also derogatory./\"

"Well, aren't you a fish? I mean you have the webbed ears and I can see the gills poking out of the turtle neck." Isabel looked at Marvus and Xefros for a second, confused, then turned back to the other troll.

When the troll finally looked up they sported angel bite piercings and some pretty prominent fangs. The light of the husktop glinted on the red shades occluding their eyes from view. It was impossible to tell their reaction, mostly because the shades also covered part of their eyebrow. They really were too big.

"/\Get inn linne if you wannt to fill out mmy black quadrannt./\"

"I'm sorry what- "

"(I Xplained this to you on the train)" Xefros mumbled.

"Yeah, okay? I still don't get it." She said offhandedly to her companion. "There's no need to get worked up over some stupid nickname, you are literally a fish."

"Ok ok I kno things be getting rough especially bcause of the high energy but y don't u take it down a notch Chekrit"

And just like that Marvus was somehow able to smooth things over.

"Cehkrit? Like Cehkrit Fiahes?" Xefros' eyes lit up. "The faceless DJ that has been blowing up all over grubtube?"

My Doug related theories

1) Doug Funnie shows signs of insanity.

He has serious blankouts in bad moments, even in the middle of the traffic. He had almost died more than once!

He acts his fantasies, not seeing reality around him. In "Doug to the Rescue", it's the worst since he starts to act like Quailman in the middle of the class.

In "Doug's Older Woman", he cannot make a difference between fantasy and reality since he thought fantasizing about Cassandra asking him out on date with her until Skeeter pointed out it did happen.

There is no way the things Porkchop does actually happened!

Even psychopathy, if you think about it.

He got angry at Cassandra for using him, and yet he hypocritically did the exact same to her.

He had a fantasy in "Doug's Career Anxiety." Connie was nowhere to seen. Did she die?

He had a fantasy of pixelated Roger being shot in "Doug's Lost Weekend."

He wished death on Guy in "Doug Gets It All."

In "Doug's Fair Lady", he had a very creepy smile on his face.

Since Quailman villains are based on people Doug antagonizes, it only means Dark Quail is based on Doug's dark side.

Since Doug is stalkerish towards Patti, I bet things won't end up well. If "Doug" was for mature audiences, he would be collecting everything from lost pins to used tampons.

2) Roger Klotz has autism.

Roger's not doing well in school. He's repeated the 6th grade three times for not understanding the material given to him. He's immature for his age, and causes troubles for everyone else by being a troublemaker.

He has difficulties with socializing. He has showed clear signs of wanting friends, like in "Doug Vs. The Klotzoid Zombies", but doesn't know how to make them.

In "Doug's Secret Admirer", "Doug's Worst Nightmare", "Doug's Runaway Journal", "Doug's Big News" and "Doug Graduates", it's confirmed he has dyslexia. His handwriting is big and child-liked like most disabled people have.

In "Doug's Cookin'", he got panicked and tried to "solve the problem" by himself, not understanding what "6-8" means.

In "Doug's New Teacher", Roger clearly struggles with reading. When he read text out loud, it's clearly heard he stumbled.

He's fixated in art. In "Doug's Mural Mania", he's that talented he can paint a breathtaking picture only using a one color. His hobby is ballet, confirmed canon in "Doug Wears Tights." "Doug's No Dummy", "Doug's Pet Capades" and "Doug's Sour Singingbird" show Roger also has a great voice and can play guitar. He also loves joining the school plays.

Vitamin D deficiency isn't only linked to rickets, which fans also speculate him to have, but also to autism and other intellectual disabilities.

Billy West, the voice of both Doug and Roger, is in the Autism Spectrum in real life.

Now I have a reason to think why Mrs. Klotz got a divorce and why Mr. Klotz hasn't visited him until they became rich. (In Nickelodeon series, it's subverted he's abusive or negletful.)

3) Guy Graham isn't a bad person.

Guy Graham is described to be "a very handsome but rather selfish and inconsiderate kid", and also "serves as a secondary antagonist and is Doug Funnie's (one-sided) rival for Patti Mayonnaise."

But is that rich spoiled brat really scummy? Or does Doug only make him sound like that, because he hates him?

Quailman and Quaildad: Guy got surprised, when he saw Mr. Funnie playing the drums like a professional. After he finished, he clapped with everyone else. Since Guy is confirmed to be a fan of disco music, he could've bought one of the vinyls. It's assumable the music The Psychedellic Fuss played is similiar to Abba's.

Quailman, The Un-Quail Saga: Just like Chalky Studebaker, Guy might also suffer from inferiority complex. In a journalism contest, Guy wanted to make sure they win. He accidently said how he wants to make sure he wins the contest. Maybe he's pressured to perfection by his parents and told how he has to be perfect, no matter what it costs.

Doug's 1st Movie: Everyone got angry at Guy for attempting to kill Herman. No one have ever seen Herman. Patti and Guy didn't even meet him before the ending of the movie! How he could've known is the monster harmless or not? Maybe he actually thought Herman was a threat and tried to protect everyone from the certain doom. He tried to capture the monster in secret, because he wanted to avoid mass panic.

Doug has a tendency to demonize Guy, because he's also after Patti. In his Quailman comics, Guy's either a villain or a coward. In "Doug Gets It All", Doug makes an animation of Guy getting squashed under the anvil! What a little psychopath! Guy probably saw some of Doug's sketches and got offended how he's portraited in them. Maybe he did recognize that donkey but said nothing specific about it. Maybe he actually wants to be part of Doug's friend group, but he doens't give him a possibility. He's not even trying to get to know him. No wonder Guy hates Doug, even though he still remains polite to him.

4) Guy and Roger are boyfriends.

Anyone who've read this, know where I'm going after.

This theory gives some Doug episodes, like "Doug, Quailman VI, The Dark Quail Saga", "Doug's Midnight Kiss" and "Doug Plays Cupid", completely different interpretation if you believe Doug being an Unreliable Narrator.

5) Roger's mansion in Disney series used to be Beebe's playhouse.

It looks like a princess' castle, something little girls in princess phase would love.

It has a garden surronding it.

One of its colors is pastel pink.

The lobby has stairs you can easily imagine Cinderella walking on them.

It's been deserted for a long time.

It's right next to the Bluff mansion.

6) Guy's real father is Mr. Bluff.

Thinking about it for a while, this would actually make sense.

Guy has facial features similiar with Mr. Bluff's.

He's as ambitious and arrogant as Mr. Bluff.

Guy has a good relationship with him.

He belongs to the club which admires Mr. Bluff and he's the most enthusiastic member of it.

He can ask money from him, whenever it's a dance in Funkytown or having a band in the school consert.

He helps him to cover his tracks about him polluting Lucky Duck Lake.

We never see Guy's parents nor his relationship with them, so it's assumable he visits the Bluffs often.

He's allowed to attempt in exclusive meetings.

How would Beebe, Mrs. Bluff, Ethan and Mr. Graham react if they knew? Does even Guy himself know?

7) Skunky Beaumont was a role model for Roger, Boomer, Ned and Willy.

Skunky has gotten detention and bad grades in school more than once. Who wouldn't be a better teacher for troublemakers than an actual troublemaker?

8) There really IS a ride called Suck Face Tunnel.

But it's for adults only…

9) Judy Funnie was on her periods during Doug on the Road.

That's why she was desperately looking for another bathroom, even after she used the one previously. Anyone who gets periods know how uncomfortable it's to sit on the bench blood leeked on it.

Hello and welcome again to my trash blog, today's episode is about how I might be asexual and aromantic- but not at the same time(???) And first a little story about myself.

So, when I was in primary school, I used to have a "crush", he was a guy and I'm gonna call him frog, why? Bc yes.

So, frog was like one of the most attractive guys in the school (at least it was for our little and not fully developed brains), we went to that school since second grade and were together until fifth grade (tha was when I changed schools).

Now, I do know that I thought he was attractive, I do know that I wanted to be close to him, the thing is that it never happened, like I told him multiple times that I liked him in that way, but never really did something about it, like I was fine being friends with him.

Now, there were other conventionally attractive kids, and I very often said "oh I like him now" and I was like jumping from crush to crush only to get back at frog again, I thought it was normal to like two people at the same time (it is if you're poly, I guess) I didn't thought of it as such a big deal, until I stumbled upon wattpad and those silly stories about a girl that likes two boys and she has to choose and it's such a drama...I didn't get it at all, I had this recurrent solution: just choose one, it's not that hard

But what little me didn't know it was that, well, it is hard for people to just choose between two people that they love.

Now for sixth grade, I liked this guy who I'm gonna call building, because he's tall.

So, building had this friend, and I "liked" them both, also, there were two girls who I also liked, the thing is thatone of the girls kissed me and I thought: maybe I don't like girls-

And I also never did anything about those people.

In middle school, well, I don't like anyone rn, and I feel I'll never will, but what do I wanna get with this? Well, I'm not attracted to people in a normal way, like I think I might experience love but not in a conventional way at all, maybe I need to get to know them? Maybe I just like the idea but not the compromise, maybe it's due to my autism, what I know is that I'm probably on the aromantic spectrum, where? Who knows! I just know that I'm there, and I would love that whoever is reading this can give me ideas of what might I be

2. impatient? Nim. She has the lowest tolerance for bs and few qualms about sharing her thoughts. Gets her in a lot of trouble with authority. Lorise and Sylawen are more the type to smile and nod and walk away.

5. caring? This is very close between Nim and Lorise, but I think Nim is more willing to care about strangers while Lorise is fiercely loyal to her small group and pretty much only her small group. Lorise is more willing talk about her feels than Nim is, but I think I'm gonna say Nim. She's more charitable and does a lot for people while expecting little in return.

10. clingy? Nim omg. Girl's got codependency problems 😭 She is terrified of everyone hating her and leaving.

17. fashionable? Sylawen by far. She loves pampering herself and cares more about her appearance than the other two. Growing up wealthy also meant she was exposed to a lot more luxury, the latest trends and styles, and she's quite invested in looking nice. Nim tries but doesn't quite understand the subtleties of *fashion* and she's pretty useless with makeup beyond blush and lipstick. Lorise doesn't really care about appearances tbh, but she has quite a few more years worth of experience with looking nice, and she's quite good at doing so.

22. introverted? Lorise. She's the most well-adjusted and content with herself. She finds a lot of peace in being alone and probably spends most of her time in solitude.

23. extroverted? Sylawen. She likes talking and attention. Even though she spends a lot of time by herself while she's studying, she loves going out, attending parties, meeting new people. Nim is very much middle of the spectrum. She likes her five friends and even then, she'd prefer to drink with them or just sit in companionable silence. Being alone for too long however makes her sad and anxious 😥

39. badass? Hoo hoo hooo, what a question. I mean Lorise is The Grand Champion, and she could crush me like a grape (plus she's a babe). I know Nim is technically a Daedric prince now, and while I think all her accomplishments are more impressive, I'm still tempted to say Lorise just because Nim is a ball of anxiety and sometimes I can't take her seriously lol.

The Magical Underworld pt.1 (Halliwell)

Phoebe, Prue and Piper Halliwell are three sisters who live in Timbiriche.

After the mysterious death of their parents, the sisters inherited the family home. They grew up here, but only recently discovered a secret passage leading to a hidden attic.

In the attic they found a book and cauldron. Here they learned the truth about their parents, both had magical powers and protected the citizens of Timbiriche from magical attackers like warlocks and monsters. The sisters discovered they each had been born witches but their parents had sealed their powers to make them normal. There was a spell in the book to unlock their powers, but under the condition that they must only use these powers to protect the innocent. The girls accepted the responsibility and cast the spell.

Prue, the oldest sister, is the most serious about their powers. She frequently studies the magic book to improve her powers in between her work as a photographer. She has the highest magical alignment of the three sisters, but her dedication to the craft means she has few friends and no romantic relationships.

Middle sister Piper did not have that problem. Around the same time she came in to her powers, she left her job as a line cook and bought the nightclub Quake in Nueva Juarez, later renaming it P3 in honour of her sisters. Owning such a popular downtown location introduced her to a lot of new people, including the non-magical sim Leo Wyatt. Her engagement to Leo led to isolation from many in the magical world who looked down on such relationships, and in Timbiriche laws exist forbidding marriage between magical and non-magical sims. As a result of Piper's isolation from the magical community, she has begun using more spells for personal gain and revenge.

Youngest sister Phoebe has also begun flirting with the dark side, in the shape of her relationship with the notoriously evil warlock Cole Turner. When the two met, neither knew about the others magical abilities.

However, when the truth came out and Phoebe and Cole found out they fall on opposite ends of the magical spectrum, they daringly decided to make it work - each secretly convinced they could change the other.

They weren't the only two tempting fate. Piper and Leo decided to defy the laws of both Timbiriche and the Magical Realms and marry in a secret ceremony. However, neither realized the onslaught of trouble this move would cause.
