Premise: MC's perspective on the day that rocks Ethan to his core and threatens to change his life.

~ Monday, 8:20am ~

"Good morning, Mike!" Serena greets the security guard right inside the door.

"Hey! How are ya? How's that Dr. Ramsey?"

"We're both doing well, thanks! How about you and the family?" She asks as she puts her phone in a cubby and unplugs the Wi-Fi enabler from her laptop.

"It was the wife and I's anniversary this weekend! We went to Martha's vineyard and saw the most beautiful proposal! You and Dr. R gonna get going on that soon? Aly has been talking about going to y'alls wedding since she met ya!" Mike gives a playful wink.

"Oh, congratulations! That's wonderful and send Aly my best wishes. But you'll have to talk to E on that one," she laughs before opening the door to a stairwell that leads to a classified area.

After keying in her pin, the door clicks open. She grabs a static protection lab coat, walks through the entrance, and is met with a plethora of state-of-the-art equipment. Floor-to-ceiling grey switch panels, curved monitors as far as the eye can see, and countless probes, clips, and wires.

She walks over to a few familiar faces. “Good morning! How’s it going?”

“Nice of you to finally join us! Dr. Ramsey keep you this morning?” Isla, one of the engineers, jests.

“I saw your check-in on the monitor — you walked in two minutes before me!”

“Those diagnostic skills at work, I see,” Isla retorts and they both laugh.

Isla had become a fast and faithful friend since Serena joined the project. They bonded quickly over both being minorities in the world of science and supported each other in every work facet. They had lunch together everyday and gradually, their work bond grew into a personal friendship as well. They’ve become so close that Isla now also regularly spends time with the original Edenbrook gang.

“Alright, enough chit chat. Let’s get this show on the road.”

The team nods and responds, “Yes, Doctor.”

~ 12:00pm ~

Serena exits the classified area with some colleagues and they all make their way to retrieve their phones.

"No new patients. Stuck in meetings and doing paperwork. I miss you and wish you were here."

She immediately breaks out into a large grin after reading Ethan's text and hits the dial button.

"Hey, ready for lunch?" Carmen, one of the lead scientists, asks.

Serena nods and moves her phone slightly away from her ear. "Be there in a minute. You guys go ahead."

She waits for a few more rings. He’s probably busy, I’ll call again later. She hangs up and makes her way to the cafeteria.

~ 12:40pm ~

"We did all the necessary prep work this morning to begin testing after lunch. Everything is looking good. We can begin running our tests since everyone is here. Are we all ready to begin?"

"Yes."

The system engineers are sitting at connected computer stations, inputting the required credentials to start. The rest of the team is standing behind them, waiting and nervously watching the screens. After a couple minutes of tense silence with nothing but the clack clack clack of keyboard keys, Vincenzo, one of the lead engineers, speaks up.

"This is weird… we're having some trouble accessing the necessary data. Did someone put up a firewall?"

Everybody looks around at each other, shaking their heads and muttering "no."

"Isla, are you seeing this? Can you get through?"

Isla continues to type, not saying anything. After a few more seconds, she turns to look at Vincenzo with a concerned expression. "I don't recognize some of the items in our system."

Just as she finishes her sentence, everyone's attention is pulled abruptly to a wall monitor on the right as it starts showing nonsensical images and patterns. Two seconds later, an alarm goes off and a red warning light begins flashing within the building. Everyone's eyes go wide as realization dawns on them: they've been compromised and shelter-in-place has been activated.

~ 12:55pm ~

Everyone begins to evacuate the classified lab area, grabbing their phones on the way out, and peering through the one-way windows. They can occasionally hear Mike speaking rapidly into the phone with a 911 dispatcher, when he's not being drowned out by shouts from colleagues.

On the descent to the bunker, the tension is palpable. Individuals clutch onto each other, others try frantically to reach loved ones, and some are in complete disbelief and shock. As they all descend the five flights of the winding staircase to the basement, windows are no longer available, but the ceiling bulbs keep flickering on and off. Each time it happens, everyone stops in their tracks, ducks down on instinct, and picks up the pace when the lights come back on.

~ 1:15pm ~

The entrance to the Harvard labs bunker is protected by a vault door that has a counter system. When the system is in place, the door can be opened once for people to get in. Once it's been closed, it can only be opened when there's one person on either side working together — it's futile with only one person. The only other way it can be opened is by shutting down the counter system from the outside, with the correct override pin, which only a handful of the most trusted team members know.*

As the vault door comes into sight, the wheel on the outside is turned, and the door opens with a whoosh. People slowly start filing in and head towards the back. However, not everyone can stay in the safety of the bunker. In case of an emergency, the project they’re working on must be erased, to protect it from falling into the wrong hands. Certain people have been assigned particular instructions to delete specific portions.

Serena is one of them.

She's walking next to Isla and their arms are looped together. As Isla enters the bunker, Serena lets go of her arm, stopping at the threshold. Isla whips her head around.

"What are you doing?! Get in here!" She reaches for Serena’s arm.

Serena shakes her head. "I'm the only one currently here who knows the medical codes."

Isla's eyes are frantic in realization. "I'll go back with you! I'll be your lookout! You're not going alone!"

"You'll be safe here. This is my responsibility."

Serena reaches behind her neck and unclasps her gold necklace for the first time in 7 years. She grabs Isla's hand and places the jewelry into her palm, closing Isla's fingers around it.

Serena stares at their clasped hands. "In case anything happens," they both flinch at another flickering of lights. "Promise me that you'll get this to E."

Their eyes are locked now, having a silent battle: Isla begging her to stay and Serena finding the strength not to.

"Isla, promise me. Please." Serena squeezes Isla’s hand that much tighter.

Isla realizes that there's no use in fighting Serena. Risking her life to delete the project is part of the job. They all made a commitment and if the roles were reversed, Isla would be the one fighting to go back.

Isla slowly nods. "I promise, Serena. I promise. But do your best to keep yourself safe. Try and stay near the corners, away from any large equipment that could have aftershock effects, and—"

Serena shakes her slightly. "I know, Isla. We did take the same training," she smiles, trying to make a joke to lighten the mood, but Isla just stares gravely at her.

A booming sound rattles the building and Serena knows it's time to go. She gives Isla a quick hug, before pushing her backwards into the bunker. Before Isla has regained her footing, Serena has closed the bunker door with a resounding thud.

~ 1:30pm ~

On the way back to the classified area, Serena takes out her phone. Ethan hasn't returned her earlier call. Her heart is pounding and with trembling hands, she hits the call button on Ethan's contact card for the second time in less than two hours. After a few rings, his voice comes through.

"You've reached Dr. Ethan Ramsey. I apologize for missing your call. Leave a message and I'll get back to you."

Just as she’s about to start speaking, the lights go down for good. "Hey E," she tries her best to keep her voice from shaking. She puts the call on speaker, places the phone out in front of her, and turns the flashlight on. "I don't know when this will hit the news, but we're currently under cyberattack. I don't know from who or what, but they’ve already gotten into our mainframe and power supply. Everyone has sheltered-in-place and is awaiting further instructions." She takes a deep breath as she inches down a corridor.

"Everyone except me, Vincenzo, and Carmen. We’re the only three here right now trained to completely delete the project in the event something like this happened. I'm walking back to the lab as I speak."

Serena rounds a corner and the lab comes into view. Thinking about what she has to say next, silent tears stream down her face.

"Ethan, sweetheart, I need you to know that the last eight months by your side have been the absolute best eight months of my entire life. You are the light of my existence and mean everything to me." She lets out a deep breath. "I wish I could hear your voice right now… I'm really scared. But I made a commitment, so I need to go back in and finish the job. If something happens, know that you are unequivocally the love of my life and the one for me. I know we haven't talked about it yet, but know that I want to spend forever with you as your wife and have you be the father of my children." She sniffs and continues, "you would be a fantastic husband and dad."

She comes to a stop in front of the keypad located right outside the lab and swallows past the lump in her throat. "But if the universe has other plans for me, I'll be waiting for you and I can't wait to spend forever with you in the next life. This isn't how I wanted to tell you, but until next time, whenever that is, I love you so much, Ethan Jonah Ramsey, more than words could ever properly convey."

She ends the phone call with tear-filled eyes, stashes her phone on a nearby workbench, punches in her key, and enters the classified area one more time.

An explanation of recent events

Hi all. I am posting a timeline of the recent events that have ended up with me inviting some of the mods I trust from @advicetotraumasurvivors to this blog. It is incomplete; as of this posting (4pm CST, August 23, 2021), nobody has admitted any wrongdoing, but I know a lot of you aren't really sure what happened at all. I apologize in advance for the verb tense shift midway through. I unfortunately don't have the spoons to edit it.

Hayden does not plan to stay with the blog. Olive plans to stay at least for now. I will likely stay. I'm not sure about Henrie or Berry at the moment. Those are the only mods that currently have access to this blog. (Edit from Mod Henrie: I’ll be staying.)

The timeline will be under the cut as it is fairly long. All times are in Central Standard Time.

Around 5:30pm CST last night, April messaged the Discord telling us she was leaving the blog. She left both the Discord and the blog shortly thereafter. We got some anons asking about why she'd left and I directed those towards her @traumasurvivors blog because I didn't feel comfortable trying to speak for her, One of them felt my answers was dismissive. That anon ended up being a mod in the Discord who was triggered by my tone. We received more asks from them, one passive-aggressive and one outright guilt-trippy.

At 7:30pm CST Henrie made an announcement that everyone who participates in the blog is a volunteer. Several mods offered in the Discord to mediate since the mod who was upset didn't feel comfortable addressing the issue with me directly.

Around 9:00pm CST we started getting some positive messages to the blog. I started to think maybe the situation had blown over. I tried to answer one of the positive anons. Tumblr gave me an error code.

We discovered the upset mod had deleted all of our inbox messages.

At 9:30pm CST Berry noticed posts were disappearing from our blog. I had noticed some weren't showing up for me, but because Tumblr is a Hellsite I figured they were there and it was just a glitch. Even the pinned post got deleted.

I panicked and asked what if the Carrd got deleted. Unfortunately, whoever the mod was, saw that and changed the email and password to the Carrd.

At 9:36pm I started adding Henrie, Hayden, Berry, and Olive to this side blog. This ended up taking several hours because we were all disoriented and triggered pretty badly by then.

At 9:45 pm I noticed they deleted my mod tag. We kept trying to encourage them to stop. Henrie reblogged all the asks that were still there to their personal in case they got deleted.

At 9:55pm I left the server and asked Berry to invite me to the new one they said they'd make so the handful of us could discuss the situation while feeling a bit more safe. There's a gap of about 20 minutes in the timeline here but I'm not sure anything super important happened during it.

Olive rescues most of the info from the Carrd by 10:21pm. April offers to transcribe the pinned post that I managed to screenshot on my phone.

Hayden makes a post around this time saying we've moved URLs. The upset mod deletes it.

I ask April if she will write down the URLs of all of our followers on advicetotraumasurvivors and send asks to them one by one to let them know what's going on. An extremely inefficient method, but at this point I'm at a loss. Henrie starts sending the asks to our followers. April finishes transcribing the pinned post at about 10:30.

At this point I have taken my sleep med and am losing reading comprehension rapidly. I say I'm going to bed but end up not sleeping until something like 4am.

At 10:31 Olive discovers that the upset mod has password-protected the blog. Henrie copy pastes the only ask in the inbox. It came in after the others were deleted.

At 11pm Olive announces she has a download/export of the blog in progress to hopefully preserve some of the posts and information on it. I ask April to boost the new URL. Henrie asks Tumblr's customer service system about uploading the file to the new blog.

At 11:10 Berry notices the queue is being messed with. Several mods go back and forth with the saboteur mod changing how often the queue posts. I suggest that we reblog ask games to the new blog so people can get to know us better once this all dies down.

At 11:21 Hayden announces the blog title has been changed to DON'T TALK TO US. A few minutes later Olive says some extremely tasteless tags are being added to queued posts, including the r slur and the n word. We won't go to any more detail about any of the other things that were said because they were extremely triggering, but we are deeply sorry to any followers (and mods) that may have seen those tags.

11: 38pm: Henrie makes posts on both blogs saying it's not us typing these awful things and to block advicetotraumasurvivors.

11:40pm: We decide to delete all the posts on the blog and the whole queue. April starts mass deleting.

11:53pm: I screenshot all the asks in the drafts. We delete all the drafts. The upset mod continues to change the blog title to triggering and inflammatory things.

1am today (Monday): Henrie asks if it's okay to announce to the original server that we moved discords and blogs. I ask if we can avoid adding people to the new discord until we know who the mod is that's upset. We eventually agree to hold off on adding people into the new discord.

2:44am: April gets an anon apologizing for their poor/inflammatory actions on her traumasurvivors blog and posts a response separate from the ask. We wait, hoping that the anon will message April.

3am: We get a similar apology on the new blog. It gets screenshotted and sent the new Discord so everyone can see it. I delete the ask from the inbox with everyone's permission because it feels very guilt trippy to me.

3:23 April gets more anons blaming her for the situation spiraling out of control, presumably from the upset mod.

12:22pm: April has more anons when we all wake up. All of us in the new server agree that we're tired and just want the situation resolved. No one comes forward.

Edit from mod Henrie: This is a timeline of all of the “major events”, but it doesn’t convey how frantic we all were. We were all feverishly working on deleting triggering tags/deleting posts/trying to find out who was doing this/etc. in between each of these times. It was chaotic and messy and incredibly exhausting for everyone involved.

Thanks for the tags @dcbbw​ , @queenjilian​ @phoenixrising308​​  you’s guys are prompting me to throw a wip together for today.  Since I didn’t get to do one on Sunday.

I’m not going to tag any one to ask what they’re up to as I’m late to the party, and if you were going to post a WIP today, you probably already have at this point.  

It is the end of the fiscal year  for my pharmacy so we had to do inventory today.  Super fun.  

Here’s what I got.  Sorry It’s not more.  Told you all some of these would be wips for a while!

Unfurled The Days The Earth Stood Still Part 3 Riley x Nico  (Riley x M!OC)  with past pairing of Liam x Riley Status: Still in the writing Process

Riley took William into the Hall of Remembrance.  In it were pictures of all Cordonia's Kings and Queens of the past.  

"William, it's time I tell you something very important about who you really are. I want you to listen to me very carefully."

"Yes Mama."

"When you look around this room you see the great Kings and Queens of Cordonia, that were great leaders. You are a descendent of the people in this room."

She led William to the last picture on the wall that had been added to the wall. The eternal flame illuminating the picture.

"This is a picture of King Liam Constantine Xavier Rys. This is Uncle Leo’s brother. He's your father."

William studied the picture in silence, and he didn’t seem surprised at all.  

"I look like him."

"You do."

"Did you miss him?"

"Every day."

"What was he like?"

"He was kind, loving and brave. He was funny, and chivalrous. He saved us."

She pointed to another picture.

"This is the only family photo that exists of us."

It was a picture of Riley and Liam standing together, early in the night of the Homecoming Ball.

"Where am I?"

Riley smiled.

"You were in my tummy then. I didn't know you were there yet. Neither of us did."

"Did you love him?"

"Yes, and I still do. I wish he was here."

"Can I tell you something Mama?"

"You can tell me anything, Will."

"I've seen him before."

"In pictures around the palace?"

William slowly shook his head.  

"When I'm sad, really sad. He comes to me. Do you believe me?"

In that moment she felt as if she was his age, and younger, the first time she had told someone about Jaiden.  That part of him was just like her.  She could feel he was afraid of what her answer would be.  She was just like her dad, Jason Brooks.

She smiled at him and stroked his cheek.

"I believe you baby."

Coupling The Meet: Chapter 7 Liam x Jillian (Liam x F!OC) / Leo x Bebe (Leo x F!OC) Status: Still In the writing Process

"Breakfast is ready."

They walked into the kitchen in their matching robes.  

Bebe was surprised by the table. There were even flowers.

"Leo… this is so much…"

"Why do you think you're not worth it? Because you are."

There was a dopey smile on Bebe’s face.  He liked seeing her a little awkward the way she was in that moment together, not knowing what to say.  So he took the lead.  

“Let’s eat breakfast.”  

They laughed and talked during breakfast.

“What time do you have to be at work?”  

“I’m not today, I’m totally calling out with a 24 hour case of death or something.”  

“So I get to hang out the day with you then?”  

“If you’d like?”

“As long as after this breakfast we wind back up in bed for a bit.”

“Um you have to wait at least 30 minutes before you go back to bed after eating.”  

“Says who? I’m pretty sure you’re confusing food and swimming.”

“Maybe you’re right.”  

They were laying in bed together  when Bebe got a text.  She glanced at her phone.  

“We’re like laying next to each other Leo.”  

“Read it.”  

Bebe glanced down at her phone.  It was just one sentence.

‘Will you be my girlfriend?’    

Steps Towards Home Just The Way You Are: Chapter 15 Liam x Riley / with past pairing of Riley x Nico.   Status: Still in the writing process

“Did you want a snack?  I have some juice and cookies.”  

Nic nodded.

She handed Nic an apple juice and a pack of cookies.

He was about to open his package of cookies when he noticed no one  else had anything.

"You're not having snack time too?"

"No."

"My Mom likes to eat, she always has snack time with me."

Carmen laughed.

"I don't think she'd like you telling people that."

"Oh no, Your Honor, she'd tell it herself." Dontae laughed.  "Riley Brooks is a very honest woman."

Carmen passed out snacks to everyone.

Nic smiled.

"Was it important to you for all of us to have snack time together?"

"We always eat together. Mom is just like my Giagiá. She loves me."

"Why do you want to live with Ms. Brooks?"

"Because she's my Mom. She tucks me in at night. And I like that. When I'm sad, she hugs and sings to me. We ate ice cream for breakfast one morning just because."

Dontae laughed as did Judge Carmen.

"She's my and Papa's forever Valentine. She was there when Papa….."

Nic's eyes filled with tears.

Dontae rested his hand on Nic's shoulder.

"When Papa died.  She said she wouldn't leave me, and she didn't. We talk about him. She gave me some of his things."

"What kinds of things?"

"Papa's pajamas.  She said they would fit me when I grow up.

"Did your Papa ever tell you anything about your Mom? Not Ms. Brooks."

"Yes."

"What did he say?"

The Past

"Papa!" Nic screamed as Nico walked into the room.

"Remember your inside voice Nicolai."

"Yes Miss Raven."

Nico adjusted his tie. "I apologize, I had come directly from work."

"No it's alright. We're glad you made it. You can join us in the sharing circle."

Nico contorted himself to sit in the child size chair next to Nic.

As Nic stared around the room, everyone else had their Mothers. Nico was the only father in the group.  The kids shared their family drawings. Nico was proud of his son. But he saw how he looked at the other Mothers in the room.

"Papa, why don't I have a Mommy? Everyone had one today but me."

Nico sighed.

"You remember seeing the family pictures and had Mommy's and Daddies, Some had just a Mommy, and one had Two Mommies?"

Nic nodded.

"Every family is different. Sometimes Mommies and Daddies make promises they can't keep. And it's better they are away from each other."

"Why?"

"To not hurt you. Mommy thought I could be a better Papa to you than she could be a Mommy. That does not make her bad.”

A/N: I’m pretty sad that no one told me that it’s Shinso’s birthday today. :( i’m glad i saw a post about Shinso’s birthday. 

Reader: Female

"Hitoshi! Please come with me to prom." You pleaded. "No." His comment was short but dull. He didn't want to go to prom, there was no meaning to prom right? "I don't want to go to prom alone!" You cried. "No means no, Y/n."

"Pleaseee?" "Y/n, just go with your friends.." "But i want to be with you! My friends are going to ditch me sooner or later in prom." You came closer to Shinso's face. Nose almost touching, "Hitoshi, i want you to have fun. Please?" He blushed at the closeness, you noticed that too. So you backed down. Sitting back to your normal position in his bed.

"I-i'll think about it..." Shinso rubbed the back of his neck. "But prom is in a week!" You whined.

"I'll think about it Y/n. Just be patient."

"But you'll just say no before the day of prom."

"Ugh fine." He whined. "I'll come."

"Really? Thank you!" You tackled him, Hugging him tightly. His ears were red, but he hugged you back. "Just as buddies?" He asked, his heart breaking. His voice cracking a bit but you didn't realize it. "Just as buddies." You repeated.

The next day in school:

"You got a prom date?!" One of your friends excitedly said outloud.

"Shhhhhh be quiet." You pointed your finger infront of your friend's lips. Checking left and right then looked at your friend. "I'm here ya know?" Shinso replied, arms crossed. "Oh. Right." "How about we all go to the shopping spree? Boys with boys, girls with girls? Later after school." Your other friend asked. "Sure." The boys agreed with you.

After school: (sorry for time skipping)

You and you're friends came to the mall. Shinso and your male friend were together then you and your female friend.

"Hey hey! Slow down." Your friend was gripping your hand. Dragging you to the nearest shop. Your friend ignored you, still dragging you to a shop.

"Hey stop it!" You yanked your hand. "Heh sorry, i was distracted. I was excited about prom!" "But it's 6 days left!" "Well I don't care! It's so near!" She whisper-yelled in excitement? "Your just excited in prom just because he's there right? As your prom date?" She blushed. "Well yes!" She said determined. Beep beep- A Notification buzzed to yours and your friend's phone

4:35PM ~Today~

Friend 1: Hey, bought anything yet?

Y/n: No not yet, Any luck?

Shinso: Mhm. You know we can see you at the other side right?

4:40PM ~Today~

You looked through the other side. You saw shinso and his 'companion' at the other side, who was already looking at both of you. You sheeply smiled, then got pulled again.

"Eh?! What is it now?" "He looked at me!" She fangirled. You knew they both liked each other. They just won't admit it. Shinso liked you which you didn't know since you were dense.

After shopping. You all planned to meet to the food court.

You were drinking you f/d, while they were eating snacks. "So watcha got?" You asked the boys. Eyes locking on them. "Clothes?" Shinso answered. You hummed. "How about you?!" She asked. "The same thing, clothes." She laughed. "So original." You rolled your eyes. Shinso smirked, holding his laughter. "See? Even Hitoshi believes in me too." You grinned. "N/n. Don't say something stupid." She said. "And i thought she could do a 'and that's how friend 1 and friend 2 got together! The end. End of story'" Shinso replied for you. "Wow, you had red my mind." You giggled. "Welp got to go. It's getting late." He said. "Ok bye." You and Shinso said altogether.

Few days later, a day before prom:

"So whose excited?!" She asked. "Definitely not me." Shinso exclaimed. "Hah? I thought you were going to prom." He said. "She forced me to." Shinso looked at you, who was on their phone. "Huh me?" You asked. "No her." Shinso joked. "Haha very funny." You faked laughed, rolling your eyes. "I'm going to go to the bathroom." She said. "Didn't you just got to the bathroom 5 minutes ago?" He asked. "Yeah yeah whatever." Then she left.

An hour before prom:

"Are you serious?! Isn't this a bit tight?" You curiosly asked. "It's just a red dress. Plus i made you more beautiful than me." She replied. "Yeah thanks for boosting me a bit." You said sarcastically "Welcome!" She shouted.

30 minutes later...

'30 minutes before prom... Kinda scared right now.' you thought.

Another 20 minutes later...

"10 minutes.." you muttered. You were... Nervous?. Well i guess that's how you say it..

7 minutes had passed. 3 more minutes left. The school was already open. You had to make an excuse.. “I need to.. Go to the bathroom!” You exclaimed, at the school’s entrance. “Ehhhh really? fine but don’t expect me of waiting you here, im going inside.” She exclaimed “Deal.” Then you just left, going to the bathroom. 

A few minutes had passed. Shinso has not seen you yet. “Hey, where is Y/n?” “Waiting for your prom date?” He quirked an eyebrow. “Prom buddy..” Shinso corrected. Shinso hid behind the two lovebirds because random girls kept popping out of no where and asked to dance with him and calling him ‘hot’ or ‘cute’. but he politely said no. 

Then you came. “Sorry i was a bit late! i went to the bathroom.” Shinso just nodded then as expected. the two lovebirds from earlier had already left you two. You looked at the suited boy, blushing a bit.

“You look cute in a suit Hitoshi.” You complimented

“Heh thanks, not bad yourself.”

Last book I read: Children of Time by Adrian Tchaivosky, a really really well done (if kinda unsettling) sci-fi novel, but ngl i want to talk about the book i read before that which is An Absolutely Remarkable Thing (and its sequel) by Hank Green which was FANTASTIC like hands down one of the best books i’ve read in a long time and if you’re looking for something fun and easy while also tackling serious real world problems (like the dangers of social media) then i HIGHLY recommend it, like honestly even if that’s not something you’re looking just go read it anyway!!!

Top 3 fictional universes I’d love to live in: 1. Harry Potter. kinda goes without saying haha, i want to be able to do magic 2. ATLA, (like only if i’m a bender tho lol) 3. hmm Chronicles of Ancient Darkness. It was one of my fav serious as a kid and I always longed to live in that sort of intelligent pre-historic age, and the world michelle paver creates feels so damn realistic, and i just feel like i’d thrive in that sort of world, tbh (i think the adhd would help lmao)

NCT 127 – “Neo City: The Origin” in San Jose (Fan Account - 190509)

Left work at 5:40pm, arrived in San Jose at 7:10, bought chicken nuggets from McDonald’s, and entered the concert hall at 7:50.

Hall feels kind of like a high school auditorium. Was expecting something a little more memorable.

I was kind of nervous and wondering if the $160 would be worth it, but I was excited about it too. Texted BFR and MKT a quick photo and both replied with excitement for me.

Concert begins.

(Cherry Bomb) Took me a little bit to get energized, but the smooth glide, backward fall, and leg split were everything.

NCT lightsticks are bright af. Every time the girl next to me waved hers to my side, I think I went just a little bit more blind lol.

(Chain) Taeyong’s absss. I was trying to fix something on my phone and, BAM! Front and center on the big screen. That shit came out of nowhere >.<

Didn’t have a lightstick this time, so I was just kinda awkwardly standing there. People around me must’ve thought I was the quietest kpop fan ever. But in my head I was hyped xD

(Ment #1) Taeyong really knows how to pump up a crowd—from his stretched out “Ohhh yeahhhh” that reclined into a sexy, throat-deep groan to his vocalized sports tournament siren after introducing his name. And his little fumble when trying to say “lifetime memories” was cute.

(Fly Away with Me) Ugh, this song put me in a mood. And Taeyong’s bouncing dance moves. He does them really nice.

(Back 2 U) Yuta’s vocals o.o And Taeyong’s soft swag throughout.

Not as many Taeyong stans as I thought, but definitely one behind me. I relate to her every time she screams for him when he does something remotely sexy and the crowd is quiet in obliviousness xD

(City 127) Slower song and Taeyong’s still not able to sit still. He was the only one who stood up and danced around for his part, and he continued to wiggle around in his chair after that xD :3

(Angel) So. Much. Skinship. Taeyong scooting his chair over to Jaehyun and being all squishy, touchy, and adorable with him. More with Yuta & Doyoung, and Jungwoo & Haechan. The line, “I’ll be your morning star” gave me all the feels. I eventually found myself swaying along.

(Jet Lag + more) Yuta’s slow, emotional hair flip and his unrelenting cuteness. If Taeyong doesn’t do it first, this kid might just kill me >.<

(Ment #2) Yuta being cute af and possibly throwing some random Japanese in there? xD

(No Longer) Definitely falling for Taeil’s voice.

So many Taeil, Haechan and Jaehyun stans.

(Regular) Taeyong’s sex faces live are killing me.

(Wake Up) The bars have come out. Hyped by Taeyong’s “Are you ready San Jose!” and subsequent ‘yeah’s and ‘whoo’s and arm pumping dance.

(Baby Don’t Like It) Taeyong literally coming in like a pimp on top of the bars. Sunglasses, posture, attitude, and all lmao.

(Mad City) The vibrations man, the fucking building was shaking.

(Good Thing) Taeyong’s outlandishly flamboyant paint-splatter suit, wtf xD Also his moonwalk is so fucking smooth. Yuta is adorably bouncy in his cute yellow sweater.

Seeing Taeyong’s sex faces in person is ridiculous (part 2).

Chipmunk voices on the mic… (Started with Mark’s mic during Mad City and continued randomly throughout)

Changing lightstick colors with the music. Didn’t expect that to happen here. For some reason I thought it was only a Korea/Japan thing lol.

(Superhuman) The superior song. Always fall for that head snap in the beginning.

I was watching Taeyong for most of the concert, but I swear I saw Taemin’s face flash by for like half a second. I think the desperation to see Taemin live is getting too strong xD

(Ment #4) I fucking looked up and Taeyong had taken half of his sparkly jacket off during the ment. Guns fully loaded. Biceps at the ready. But my poor heart wasn’t >.< Haechan speaking Korean for the first time during the concert kind of made it more real that I was watching Korean idols who had traveled halfway across the world to perform in front of me. Taeyong and his backwards visor and casual black clothes is fucking hot. Taeil getting embarrassed when Johnny told him to growl and flex his muscles one more time, adorable :3 Taeyong did clapping push-ups, aegyo-ed, and fucking dabbed in the span of 20 seconds >.< Jaehyun asking if we’re ready to “get hot.” Boy, I’ve been steaming for an hour now (both literally and figuratively lol. Couldn’t find the time to take off my coat xD)

(Summer 127) The resonance and vibrations from the bass line had me shaking (in a good way). Taeyong’s front group seemed a little lost in the music when they finally went back into choreography—they kept looking at each other like “uh…” and wiggled their arms around aimlessly until it matched everyone else lol. Taeyong went HARD during this song. His panting had me thrown, and he rapped so hard his fucking vein popped out.

(Ment #5) Doyoung’s adorably cheesy fortune cookie story. Fortune cookie read, “You will touch the hearts of many.” Generic but absolutely true ^^ Taeyong’s pouty face before his ending speech. And he put his hands together, almost in prayer, when thanking his fans. It was so heartfelt and sweet.

(Pre-0 Mile) Taeyong’s switch from his soft voice when correcting the crowd’s move for “mine mine” to his deep, loud, crowd-pumping voice at the final “girl you’re just mine mine!” I love his duality. And the way he turned around to walk to the back of the stage for 0 Mile. Hot.

(0 Mile) Taeyong being a mom and picking up Doyoung after he fell to the ground trying to protect his abs xD He’s such a sweetheart <3

For the last three-ish songs, Taeyong was super energetic and hyped for the performances. It got me hyped too.

Their “San Jose is a real vibe-killer~~” xD

Someone threw a rose at Taeyong when they were walking from the left side audience to thank the right side, and he got adorably flustered. He fumbled with the rose a little bit, but he did manage to catch it.

Taeyong picked up the rose he had put down earlier to hold his members’ hands and bow. He was being such a tease with it, putting it sexily in his mouth, tango style, and turning around and pausing every two steps to pose with it. He also put on an adorable “San Jose” beauty pageant sash before posing with the rose and heading off stage. He was the last member to leave and he kept dorking around and teasing his fans, it was so freakin cute >.< (Side note: Found out later he was recently crowned “in charge” of their San Jose stop, which is why he had the sash.)

That ending^ was all I needed to make that whole concert worthwhile. I love you Taeyong <3

Concert ended at 10:40pm. Walked back to my car and drove home listening to nothing but NCT songs.

Post-concert thoughts: In the beginning, it felt like I was just watching another random concert. I was also hesitant about going even before that because I only really listened to about half the songs on the setlist. But I realized there’s something about concert settings that just makes everything sound amazing. The concert eventually evolved into something more meaningful and that I was super spazzy about and into (probably triggered by something Taeyong did lol), but it got so much more exciting after that and I loved it.

P.S. Taeyong’s shirt was sheer????

The Slender Man's story is not a narrative one, but a pseudo-historical look at this monster's history with humanity that is tied into several other creepypastas.

Typically, the Slender Man preys on children and those who become obsessed with his existence, though no one knows exactly what happens to the bodies since no one has ever escaped from an encounter with him. Suggested stories featuring the Slender Man include The Tall Man and the Marble Hornets videos.

In the real world, this creepypasta figure became a key figure during an assault and subsequent criminal case in 2014 involving three 12-year-old girls. Wisconsin teens Anissa Weier and Morgan Geyser, lured their friend, Payton Leutner, into the woods during a game of hide-and-seek. In an reported attempt to appease Slender Man, the duo stabbed Leutner 19 times and left her at the scene. Leutner managed to drag herself to a nearby road where a cyclist found her, and she was immediately taken to a hospital where she recovered from her injuries.

Soon after the attack, Weier and Geyser were arrested and tried for attempted second-degree murder. In 2017, Weier was sentenced to 25 years in a mental institution, while her accomplice Geyser was sentenced to 40 years in a mental hospital in 2018.

Like those who nostalgically recall the adventures of Dora the Explorer, Mister Rogers, and Sesame Street, some adults rediscovered their favorite show from the 1970s, Candle Cove, on a television forum in this creepypasta. Slowly, their memories of the show grow darker and more disturbing until one of the adults asks his mother about the true nature of the show.

The forum format of the story adds a spooky realism to the tale, also making it easy to recreate and share on other boards. If you find this story particularly compelling, watch the first season of the Syfy original series Channel Zero, which is based off this creepypasta.

Not for the faint of heart, Robert the Doll really exists. The myths surrounding him vary, especially since it became so popular on the internet. The doll was given to artist Robert Eugene Otto in the late 1800s or early 1900s by a servant working in his family home. The doll, which he named after himself, then took on a life of its own and began to terrorize the family.

Otto is said to have kept his doll into adulthood and it subsequently tormented his late wife to insanity. When the doll was found by another family, the girl to whom it was given was terrified of it and refused to have it in her room.

The doll is currently residing in the Fort East Martello Museum in Key West, Florida. Visitors must ask Robert politely if they want to take his photo. If they mock him or take his photo without permission, Robert is said to lay a curse on them.

4. Anasi's Goatman Story

Based on a Native American legend, this creepypasta was originally found on 4Chan's paranormal board /x/, where some of the best creepypastas can be found.

The story follows a teenager who goes down to Alabama to be with his extended family. While he, his cousins, and their friends are camping out in the woods, they see a strange figure — the Goatman — jerking and spouting gibberish as it follows them. They spend the rest of the night in fear as the Goatman slowly infiltrates the group, terrorizing the teens into a frenzied state of paranoia.

This mix of pre-existing lore and new narrative is not rare for creepypastas, but it's the strength of the writing that really makes this particular story worth sharing. There are variations of this story, but most follow a similar formula where a group is stalked by the titular monster with different outcomes.

5. The Russian Sleep Experiment

A staple of best creepypasta lists everywhere, the title of this story itself carries with it a sense of dread and horror. Shortly after World War II, five political prisoners are subjected to an experiment in which they have to remain awake for 30 days in a tank filled with an experimental gas. As with most science-gone-wrong stories, the test subjects begin to lose their minds among a number of other gruesome symptoms. The horror does not end when the experimenters try to save their subjects — far from it.

Just know that this story may not be appropriate if you are squeamish or dislike gore, as the narrative goes into graphic detail about the physical state of the patients. Thankfully there are no pictures, or this would be the ultimate nightmare fuel.

6. Jeff the Killer

If you've never laid eyes on the infamous image of Jeff the Killer before, consider yourself lucky. The basic story concerns Jeff, a serial killer who hides in the closet and whispers "go to sleep" to its victim before slaughtering everyone in the household. Even more disturbing than his M.O. is his appearance — his face is smooth and stark white, a huge grin and small lid-less eyes. He is one of the most easily recognizable creepypastas, with his eerie stare posted across forums.

His origin story involves a fight that resulted in a chemical burn on his face and caused him to suffer a mental break. Soon after, he murdered his family and disappeared into the night to make guest appearances in your nightmares.

7. BEN Drowned

Hacked video games are often found in creepypastas, but none is more infamous than BEN Drowned, the story of Matt, a college-age boy who picks up a hacked cartridge of The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask at a garage sale. 

As the boy plays, he captures the strange occurrences in the game and real life until it ultimately culminates into a full haunting. The narrator and BEN's fates are left up to the reader's imagination, but the tale implies that a happy ending is not in the realm of possibility.

This creepypasta is one of the few that integrate multiple types of media into the story. There is the text of the story itself — both a formal post version that went up on 4Chan's /x/ forums in real time and a diary included on the final post — and videos of the disturbing gameplay under the YouTube channel Alex Hall (originally Jadusable). The footage includes a warped soundtrack, terrifying glitches, and a creepy statue that is supposed to be BEN following the player around. 

While the story is clearly fictional, the level of dedication to creating this eerie story makes it worth the read.

8. Persuaded

Zombies definitely have a place in creepypastas, especially after having taken over the majority of pop culture. However, in the spirit of keeping readers on their toes, these zombies don't need frenzied biting to increase their numbers, which elevates this tale above and beyond other zombie-inspired creepypastas.

After a massive oil spill, all those touched by the substance begin to viciously attack other creatures, causing mass panic across the country. The nameless protagonist holes himself up in his apartment, waiting for the screaming, violent horde to come crashing through his door and tear him limb from limb. If only that had actually happened, instead of the two day-long nightmare that really unfolds.

9. Smile Dog

If there's any story on this list that best captures the message "be careful what you wish for," Smile Dog is it. The creepypasta deals with an image posted on an old bulletin board system back in 1992 called smile.jpg. Those who saw the image either disappeared or died, save for one Mary E., who the narrator goes to interview. What he eventually learns is that some things, even simple pictures, are better left as mysteries than dealing with the horrifying truth.

In case you were wondering, the story does come with an accompanying image, but you may not want to see it after reading the full story. Though, in the end, you may not have a choice.

This tale reminds us that it's best not to Google yourself, no matter how tempting it may be. Annora Petrova was one of the most promising figure skaters in the United States, until she discovered a sentient Wikipedia page about her. After trying to selfishly alter her fate by editing the page, her life spirals out of control in the most unexpected ways, until she is a friendless orphan (which isn't even the worst part).

While the Wikipedia page does not actually exist, it's a harrowing tale about messing with the unknown forces of the internet. If you do check this story out, make sure you click on the image at the bottom of the email for an extra layer of spookiness.

NoEnd House promises $500 to whomever can survive a trip through its nine rooms of torture, a challenge that our narrator David readily accepts. The rooms begin to grow increasingly sinister and evil, pushing the limits of David's psyche and humanity. Are nine rooms really worth such a small monetary compensation that won't even pay for one therapy session?

His logic tries to defy his gut feeling, but he falls further into the belief that something has gone horribly wrong outside, and it's coming for him next.

One night, the household is attacked by a mysterious figure that our intrepid protagonist tries to chase out. Giving any more of the plot away would ruin the surprise, but this story proves that brevity can be an effective tool when used to properly horrifying and amaze.

14. Gateway of the Mind

Ever wonder what would happen if you couldn't see, hear, smell, taste, or touch? Well, this creepypasta is here to put that theory to the test in what is honestly the most terrifying science experiment.

The story centers around a group of scientists who wish to make contact with God, and they believe that this could be possible by removing the body of all five senses. After performing a complex sensory surgery on a test subject, the poor person is completely disoriented and begins to hallucinate and "hear" people who have passed away.

What happens at the end is extremely meta, but the grueling details involving the pure mental torture the subject goes through is enough to absolutely creep anyone out.

15. The Rake

This monster may not be as famous as his cousin, Slender Man, but he sure is just as creepy. The Rake is a humanoid creature that is completely pale, hairless, and has a thirst for human flesh.

According to Know Your Meme, this creature was originally created in 4chan's /b/ board where someone opened a "make your own monster" thread. The description that eventually became a part of The Rake was, "no apparent mouth, pale skin, six feet tall when standing, but usually crouches and walks on all fours, no nose, no mouth," and many other disturbing physical features.

Eventually this creature played a central role in many creepypastas. Most of these stories primarily involve documented encounters with the monster, and more often than not, the person dealing with The Rake never makes it out alive. 

16. Lavender Town Syndrome

A classic video game creepypasta that hits a little too close to home for those of us who grew up playing the original Pokémon Red and Blue during the late '90s. This creepypasta centers around the game Pokémon Green, which was only released in Japan in 1996. 

According to the legend, rates of illness and suicide in children in Japan between the ages of 7-12 have reached a fever pitch. The common connection between all of them? They all played Pokémon Green and had reached an area known as Lavender Town whose theme music had extremely high pitches. 

After conducting studies on this phenomenon that became known as "Lavender Town Syndrome," scientists realized that there was a certain tone in the town's music that only the ears of young children and teens could hear. This had essentially drove this demographic who played the game to insanity, causing them to have headaches, ear issues, and die from suicide.

While this sparked many theories and creepypastas surrounding Lavender Town and the original Pokémon games, this creepypasta is actually loosely based off a real-life incident involving a Pokémon episode that only aired in Japan in 1997. 

During the airing of the 38th episode of the original Pokémon television series titled Electric Soldier Porygon, a scene that made use of extreme flashing images gave hundreds of children epileptic seizures.

In this creepypasta classic, a woman wearing a white gown that was covered in blood stumbled into a hospital in 1972. According to the nurse who is recounting this event, she said that this woman had the appearance of a mannequin, but was very much human-like in her movement and mannerisms.

After throwing a kitten she had clamped in her jaws on the ground, doctors and nurses rushed the woman into a hospital room for evaluation. Little does the hospital staff know that they have no idea who, or rather what, they're dealing with.

Porsche Paradise: Rennsport Reunion IV

Starting this Thursday at WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca is the return of Rennsport.  The Rennsport Reunion VI returns to the rolling hills of Salinas in what will be a full sensory overload of all things Porsche.  It is a living and breathing display of Porsche history for four full days that will by all predictions, rival and surpass anything in the automotive and motorsports world.    We covered the last Rennsport Reunion back in 2015 and were blown away at the size and atmosphere of the event.  We live and breath cars and car culture, but we left the last one in utter silence taking days to process what we witnessed.  It was so much we wrote about it in two separate post here and here.

This time around, Rennsport could be even bigger, if that’s even possible.  This year is also the 70th anniversary of the brand, creating what is sure to be additional motivation to make it an unforgettable weekend.  The theme this year is “Marque of Champions” which will highlight the legends of the brand: championship-winning Porsche race cars, the engineers who designed them and the men who drove them to victories around the world.  Approximately 50 legendary drivers, 500 historic and customer cars, including 350 cars in competition, and the full Porsche Factory racing team will be in attendance. As a highlight, the original 356 “No. 1” Roadster will be on display, giving all Porsche enthusiasts a look at the car whose shape, dynamic design, and lightweight construction has inspired all Porsche sports cars. 

This year will also feature a historic line up of Porsche drivers.  Hurley Haywood, the most successful American endurance driver ever; Brian Redman, co-creator of Porsche Rennsport Reunion and racing driver extraordinaire, Vic Elford, who is celebrating the 50th anniversary of his legendary 1968 season, Norbert Singer, lead engineer known as the father of the Porsche 962 as well as the man behind the Carrera GT V10 engine; and Jacky Ickx, six-time Le Mans winner.  Overall, there will be 50-plus legendary drivers on hand.

Twelve current Factory Drivers will also be at the Monterey track, including Patrick Long, Earl Bamber, Timo Bernhard and the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans GTE Pro winning trio of Kévin Estre, Laurens Vanthoor and Michael Christensen. 

Porsche will also demonstrate something unexpected, Tractors.  Porsche manufactured tractors until 1963 in partnership with industrial firm Mannesman, and on Saturday and Sunday two Porsche tractors will take to the track, Le Mans style as drivers will run to their tractors and start the engines in a race over the first five corners of the track.  The race is expected to take 15 minutes.

Erxs....it’s hard for me to feel sorry for her when she isn’t doing anything she can to help herself. She isn’t applying to any other jobs, she’s just complaining. Currently she’s on top of the medica website, when instead she needs to be on top of that indeed account. Im giving advice, I’m trying to be motivational but right now she just wants to complain and make excuses. I’m so tempted to give her some tough love but she won’t listen. There’s an excuse for everything. To the point where I’m like what do you want me to say? I’m not a person to sit and complain about what’s going on around me, I’m more of a take action kind of person. She just wants to complain and feel sorry for herself. She hasn’t applied to any other job since getting the news from Medica and I don’t understand why BUT like I said I’m not about to let her energy be transferred to be. Lol especially when you’re not doing anything about it.

I have more. She keeps sending me job postings and when I ask did you apply, she says not yet. She hasn’t applied to the United health group job, and hasn’t applied to whatever little rinky dink job she sent me this morning or any other job for that matter. I’m just sitting here thinking like, I took time out of my day to redo a completely new resume for you, an amazing resume and you won’t even use it. I have to enter the text thread just for proof and support.

My last message to her says to use this a motivation to go harder instead of letting this discourage you and she didn’t respond. It’s so frustrating. Here’s the run down, she told me about the position around the beginning of July and she inboxed me the link for the position on July 12th. I applied on the 15th and was contacted about an interview on July 17th (they move pretty fast.) This is when I told her how the guy says they’re looking for 100 people or more. Immediately I begged her to apply. I was offered the position on 7/22, immediately after my interview. I recommended she apply again and I offered to update her resume. Around this time she was saying things like, I don’t wanna start a new job in the middle of the pay period, changing jobs would put her in a bad position financially etc...At this point, they’re were 2 training classes scheduled according to their website. The first started on 8/9 and the other on 8/16. So the pay period fear could be put to rest. She sent me her resume on 7/23 I updated and sent the resume back to her on 7/25 and she applied to the position on 7/27. In the corporate field when a recruiter is trying to fill positions, 10 days is a long time and there were 10 days in between me applying and her applying. Also, when I was offered the position originally, the recruiter emailed me asking for me to apply for a different job title because the training class for the original listing was full. BIG RED FLAG. 🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩🚩To wrap up this story she waited too long to apply, and now she’s waiting too long to apply for other jobs. She needs to stop sitting on her hands. When I think about the reality of things though, she puts off everything until the last minute. She’s a mess but a beautiful one. Her house is a mess, her car is a mess, I’m sure she’s all over the place at work. It’s just a lot and she needs to take some time to come up with a plan instead of beating herself up.

Sturino, founder of the 12ish style blog, and mother of the late Toast the dog, and Dziadul, founder of Extra Extra Style, frequently team up to recreate famous photos, but this one takes the cake, or should we say crown?

They both shared photos of their work on Instagram, posting side-by-side images of the royal couple and themselves rocking near-identical outfits. The looks they chose were worn by Markle and Prince Harry on Commonwealth Day, for Markle’s first official appearance with Queen Elizabeth.

The actress was wearing a navy-blue dress and long cream coat by Amanda Wakeley, topped with a matching cream beret by Stephen Jones. On her feet she wore navy pumps. Sturino found pieces similar to Markle’s, including a Rachel Roy coat and an ASOS hat, creating an approachable version of the high-end outfit. The prince wore a navy-blue suit with a maroon tie, and Dziadul did the same. Dziadul and Sturino even had the royal poses down pat, proving that even civilians can reach the style levels of royalty.

A few months ago, Sturino enlisted Dziadul to recreate their first royal look, for Prince Harry and Markle’s first appearance together after announcing their engagement. “They’re a couple the whole world is watching. They’re young, they’re stylish, and I’ve never met them, but they seem like fun,” Dziadul tells Yahoo Lifestyle, explaining why they like to recreate the couple’s looks.

Sturino’s also taken with Markle’s style solo; she once proved that double denim can look good on anybody, especially when topped with a camel peacoat like Markle’s. “Well, who doesn’t have royal fever right now?” Sturino tells Yahoo Lifestyle. “The world can’t get enough of this couple, especially Meghan Markle’s style choices.”

She’s right — the Meghan Markle effect is in full swing.

But there’s more to it than simply fawning over the soon-to-be newlyweds. “Meghan and Harry have the world’s resources at their fingertips — from money to stylists to trainers. But that doesn’t mean they have a monopoly on style,” Dziadul explains. “Regular people, and plus-size people, deserve to look and feel like royalty too.”

As Sturino chimed in, “I would say that Harry and Meghan represent one of the most attractive couples in the universe right now, and if you don’t happen to fit their body-type profile, it’s nice to see that these looks can translate to any size.”

Their followers agree: Sturino’s post from Monday has almost 10,000 likes. “I think we’re so conditioned to seeing celebs and famous people looking a certain way (aka thin!) that people are psyched to see another interpretation of their style,” Dziadul says.

Sturino feels this way about all public figures, which is why her #SupersizeTheLook project exists. She recreates outfits worn by celebs on a regular basis, and she always hits it out of the park — sometimes looking better than the original wearer of the outfit. Some of Sturino’s most successful recreations include Amal Clooney in her red dress and camel coat, a golden Beyoncé ensemble, and Chrissy Teigen in a see-through skirt.

And she doesn’t steer clear of models just because of their slender frames. With the help of fellow plus-size women, she’s nailed the looks of Gigi, Kendall, and Bella.

“Celebrities have access to a whole team of people telling them how to look good, so in general, they are supercurrent on trends and styles, and we’re lucky to have them as a resource!” she says. “However, many people think they can’t pull off so-and-so’s style. I’m just trying to let women know that style has nothing to do with size.”

Her favorite creation was inspired by Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert. For that, she tracked down the exact Gucci skirt worn by the fashion editor and paired it with a similar multicolored tee. “I loved the Giovanna Battaglia Gucci skirt look,” she says. “Personally, she is my favorite style personality to copy, as everything she wears is perfection.”

A recent Kate Bosworth recreation proved to be difficult, however. “I recently did Kate Bosworth in some yellow flare pants. … Those were tough to find in my size for sure,” she notes. But that challenge is nothing new to her.

“It’s kind of hard to find things in my sizes for many of the celebrities I supersize,” she shares. Luckily, Markle’s style is easy to mimic, no matter what your size. “She chooses classic pieces and mixes them in a refreshing and updated way,” says Sturino. “I was excited to see her in the beret look, because it gave me a chance to try that style on myself!”

But even when she’s not trying to dress like a celebrity, shopping isn’t so simple; she describes herself as a “size 12ish in a size 2 world.”

“I’m certainly used to having a hard time finding clothing in my size — it’s why I started my blog,” Sturino says. “To share my tips and tricks with women who have to scour the internet for the closest thing that seems to be readily available for anyone who is above a size 4.”

She has hope that it will get easier. “It’s starting to get easier, though, with the introduction of websites like CoEdition and some of the plus-size brands out there, like Eloquii. There is light at the end of the tunnel.”

New host had issue with previous guest which delayed cleaning, check in. How would you review this?

In my search to find a cheap and cheerful room with certain key features, while sacrificing others, I came across a private room offered by a new host with less than 10 reviews, although all of them 5 stars. Key features include private bathroom, parking that doesn't require shuffling, a desk, kitchen access with all appliances the host's family uses available, all for a low price of $37/ night plus service fees. No cleaning fee. Fold out futon in a semi basement. OK it's not a great queen sized bed with modern kitchen, it's a semi half finished basement, but you can't expect miracles for this price. Note this is about $10-20/night less than I usually choose. Booking: 9 nights, check out next Friday.

Following this sub's advice, I kept all communication on the app, although I couldn't find the host's number so it worked out. After booking there was no welcome message, I followed up and luckily check in instructions were provided after I asked for them. I was supposed to check in at 3pm today. Just 90 mins before check in, the host messages me claiming she was trying to reach airbnb support because the guest scheduled to check in today was supposed to leave at 11am, he's not there but his stuff is. Host asked me what should she do? LOL @ asking your next guest what to do? Claims the room isn't clean, she's trying to reach the other guest. I tell her no problem, I can delay my check in, I'm in xx city now, still 1.5 hours away , here's the support phone number, please call them for advice.

She replies that she removed the missing guest's stuff from the room but they left the keys inside. So I'm thinking the guest locked the room keys inside? Then she goes on to explain that the guest had legal trouble, police showed up (WTF?!) , apparently an officer told the host to put the guest's stuff back in the room and the officer removed it placing it on the street. But that I can show up and wait in the living room until everything is sorted. She needs another hour to clean, am I OK with that?

I replied that sounds nuts, no worries, I'll take my time (I don't want to show up in the middle of the drama), I'll see her around 5:30pm, 2.5 hrs after official check in time. Then the host goes on to explain that the reason the guest wasn't back on time is because they were arrested. WTF again!! I finally check in , but the sheets are being washed and the room isn't ready. There's this moist / cigarette smell, I immediately regretted showing up but I have nothing else, the other hosts I contacted are all booked up for my dates. I go out shopping, eat a late dinner and returned at 9:30pm , eat, the bed still isn't made up...host asks me, didn't my husband make the bed for you? I reply no... well finally at 10pm the host makes up the bed with the washed and dried sheets, but the comforter is still in the dryer until 10:40pm. Bed was finally done some 7 hrs and 45 mins after the published check in time (in the app).

How would you rate this experience? Check in 4 /5 stars? I mean it's not the host's fault that their last guest was a criminal who got arrested. I wonder what for...DUI? Something violent? Drug dealing? Hmmm
