L I L I T H
The Osculating Lunar Apogee, also known as True Lilith or Black Moon, is a significant point in astrology that represents a deep and transformative aspect of the self. Unlike the Mean Lunar Apogee, which is the average distance between the Earth and the Moon's apogee, the Osculating Lunar Apogee is the actual point of the Moon's farthest orbital distance from Earth at any given time.
This is an in-depth post covering True Lilith. It contains the following sections:
Brief explanation of what True Lilith is.
Meaning of True Lilith.
Significance in a Natal Chart.
Alchemical Significance.
How to find True Lilith.
Tumblr media
Figure I.
It is important to remember that this is not a physical body like some say. This is a point. For instance, those who have their Moon conjunct True Lilith means that their Moon was the furthest away from the Earth at the time of their birth, thus conjunct this point.
It is also essential to note that True Lilith is distinct from the asteroid Lilith (1181 Lilith), which is also used in astrological analysis but represents different themes related to feminine power, independence, and assertiveness.
However, True Lilith, as the name says - is the "True" point of Lilith.
Tumblr media
In Astrological terms, True Lilith (Osculating Lunar Apogee) is associated with themes of hidden desires, primal instincts, and subconscious drives. It represents the shadow self, the aspects of our personality that we may repress or deny but which hold immense power and potential for transformation once acknowledged and integrated.
Depending on what sign your True Lilith falls into will determine how it manifests in your chart, as well as if True Lilith is direct or retrograde.
True Lilith's natural ruler is the sign of Cancer. Cancer is ruled by the Moon, which governs emotions, instincts, and the subconscious mind—all areas strongly linked to Lilith's themes. Cancer is a sign that represents nurturing, sensitivity, and the home, reflecting Lilith's association with deep-seated emotions, maternal instincts, and the darker, hidden aspects of the psyche.
Additionally, Cancer is known for its protective nature, especially regarding family and loved ones, resonating with Lilith's themes of protection and defense of one's authentic self. The nurturing and intuitive qualities of Cancer align with Lilith's role in guiding individuals toward emotional healing, self-discovery, and empowerment.
Tumblr media
When someone has their True Lilith in the same sign as their Sun or Moon, it intensifies the influence of that sign on their personality.
The reason why the luminaries, Sun and Moon, conjunct or in the same sign as True Lilith is considered the most powerful is because the Sun represents the core essence of the individual's identity, vitality, and life purpose, while the Moon symbolizes emotions, instincts, and subconscious patterns.
When either of these luminaries is closely conjunct or in the same sign as True Lilith, it amplifies the impact of True Lilith's energies on the individual's psyche and life experiences. The combination of conscious identity (Sun) or emotional expression (Moon) with the raw, primal energies of True Lilith creates a potent and transformative influence that can profoundly shape the person's life journey, challenges, and evolution.
When it comes to luminaries, because of how sensitive and personal these two planets are in addition to the nature of Lilith's movement, Lilith does not need to be conjunct. Being in the same sign is more than enough. However, for the Ascendant and other personal planets, True Lilith does need to be exactly conjunct especially since birth times are not always accurate.
Natal Sun Conjunct True Lilith:
This aspect indicates a strong connection between the core identity (Sun) and the primal, instinctual energies of True Lilith. Individuals with this placement may have a deep awareness of their authentic self and a strong drive to express their unique identity without conforming to societal norms.
Natal Sun conjunct True Lilith can also suggest a person who is fiercely independent, rebellious, and unafraid to challenge authority or traditional values. They may feel a constant tension between their need for personal freedom and the expectations of society or family.
Creativity and self-expression are often heightened with this aspect, as the individual may tap into their raw, uninhibited creativity and channel it into art, writing, or other forms of expression that defy convention.
On a psychological level, this aspect can indicate a journey of self-discovery and empowerment, where the individual confronts and integrates their shadow self (represented by True Lilith) to fully embrace their authentic nature.
Natal Moon Conjunct True Lilith:
This aspect highlights the emotional and nurturing aspects of the Moon in conjunction with the primal, instinctual energies of True Lilith. Individuals with this placement may have intense emotional experiences and a deep connection to their subconscious mind.
Natal Moon conjunct True Lilith can suggest a person who experiences emotional extremes and may struggle with integrating their darker emotions or desires into their conscious awareness. There can be a sense of inner conflict between the need for emotional security and the desire for freedom and independence.
Family dynamics and childhood experiences may play a significant role in shaping the individual's emotional landscape with this aspect. They may have experienced early disruptions or challenges that contribute to their complex relationship with emotions and intimacy.
Despite the challenges, this aspect can also bring profound emotional depth, intuition, and psychic sensitivity. The individual may possess a strong intuitive understanding of hidden truths and a deep empathy for others' emotional struggles.

In Alchemy, the process of transformation is central, where base elements are metaphorically transmuted into higher states of consciousness and being.
When it comes to True Lilith, there are various ways it can relate to Alchemy and the alchemical process at large. Such as:
Alchemical Shadow Work: True Lilith represents the shadow self in Astrology, reflecting the aspects of our psyche that we often repress or deny. In Alchemy, the shadow is seen as the unacknowledged and darker aspects of our personality, including fears, traumas, and repressed desires. Working with True Lilith involves engaging in alchemical shadow work, which is the process of consciously exploring and integrating these hidden aspects to achieve psychological wholeness.
Nigredo and the Black Moon: In Alchemy, the Nigredo stage symbolizes the initial phase of the alchemical process, where the alchemist confronts the darkness within themselves. This stage is often associated with the Black Moon or True Lilith energy, representing the dissolution of old patterns, illusions, and limitations. Just as the alchemist undergoes a process of breaking down the prima materia (raw material) in Nigredo, individuals working with True Lilith delve into their deepest fears and shadows for transformation.
Integration and Transmutation: As the alchemical process progresses, the Nigredo stage leads to the Albedo (whitening) and Rubedo (reddening) stages, symbolizing purification and spiritual enlightenment. Similarly, integrating True Lilith's energy involves transmuting the darkness into wisdom, healing, and empowerment. This alchemical transformation aligns with the journey of confronting and embracing the shadow self to achieve greater self-awareness and inner balance.
Integration of Opposites: Alchemy often deals with the integration of opposing forces or dualities within the self. True Lilith embodies the tension between the conscious and unconscious, the known and unknown, the light and dark aspects of human nature. By embracing and integrating the energy represented by the Black Moon, individuals engage in a process of psychological and spiritual integration, harmonizing the polarities within themselves.
By viewing True Lilith through the lens of Alchemy, we can gain insights into its role as a catalyst for inner alchemical processes, urging individuals to confront their inner darkness, transmute it, and ultimately attain a higher level of self-understanding and spiritual integration.
Tumblr media
I prefer to use astro.com as I find their software to be the most accurate.
However, other astrology software can show True Lilith as the Lilith glyph with a "T". Figure 1 on the top of this post shows the example in the bottom right corner.
Tumblr media
I will be posting more content in the future regarding Lilith that will include data and real world examples to give more thorough details and information about the nature of this point in both the natal chart, synastry, composites, as well as transits.
This is simply an introductory post to help as a stepping stone into Lilith.

ᴀꜱᴛʀᴏ ᴍᴜꜱɪɴɢꜱ 2: ʟɪʟɪᴛʜ - ᴀɴᴄɪᴇɴᴛ, ᴡɪʟᴅ ᴍᴏᴛʜᴇʀ
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
TW: themes of abuse, power dynamics, sociology, misogyny. Astrology + politics mixed, I'm leftist after all, if that's not your cup of tea, skip this one and save yourself the rage quit lol. Women/femme presenting is an all inclusive term in this post!
Tumblr media
So since a long time now I've been very intruiged by Lilith (mean, true, asteroid and waldemarth) but since we're most familiar with osculating Lilith and Black Moon Lilith, I will focus on these two specifically.
Keep in mind that there are multiple stories (even if it's just the tiny details that alter the story) and thus interpretations about Lilith, Lilith is also still very much unexplored in astrology.
But the stories of Lilith all do unite in the themes of demand, oppression, shame, morality, breaking free of limitations, isolation/ostracization, rage and autonomy. It’s about power dynamics, you and your raw self, all the desires and needs in relation to others/society. Lilith is described as dark and hidden because that’s exactly what we are taught to do with Lilith energy: hide it. Lilith is therefore often described as off putting, because nothing can be as uncomfortable as going against all reasoning and what you were told was ‘good’ and instead going by instinct and impulse. Lilith deals a lot with survivial. It can be both, a blessing in disguise or at times, a snake biting it’s own tail.
And before we dive deeper into Lilith, I want to say a few words on the practice of astrology, so you can get familiar with the way I use and practice it too:
Astrology is a tool to research our society/world and self, thus Lilith is a reflection of our societal circumstances and therefore you can't discuss Lilith without getting political and talking about misogyny/oppressive systems.
This does not (!) mean Lilith and its effects are limited to gender by any means, but because gender is a social construct, Lilith and it’s effects are influenced by the way we are socialized and by who we are politically. This is why people constantly find these weird power dynamics between men and women who share strong Lilith synastry in the first place.
Gender as we define it is not inherent in the stars and astrology, but our socialization will direct or at least set off the tone in which way certain astrological facts can develop potentially. This is why - very different to my usual approach - I do in fact want to highlight the performance and construct of gender in this take, because the themes of Lilith represent in the different roles and scripts that exist for men and women in our heteronormative society. It shows in the power dynamic that is created between those who are politically men and women or rather said those who are straying away from the script they we're ought to follow by those who hold more power over them. This is an universal experience that can be experienced by everyone, but I want to say that private and political self intertwine and it’s very much present in the stories of those who have experienced strong Lilith influence in their life. If you want to read further on my reasoning and understand my approach to astrology, you can read it here.
⇨ Sociology and politics aside, let’s get back to Lilith:
Naturally, because there is still a lot of mystery and complexion around Lilith, she is a very hot topic in synastry. But the assumptions of steamy sex and kinky encounters aside, and from what I've seen and studied, right now I'll go so far to say that when we deal with a (perceived) hetero relationship, it can only truly work out if the man involved absolutely sees the woman as an absolute equal and treats her as such. Even if difficulties arise and are set off by Lilith, both need to remain an be seen as an independend being with agency and acknowledge that at all times, no matter the decision. It's a choice both should commit to at the very beginning.
You think this is common sense in partnerships (should be at least) but Lilith has a very unique and personal relationship with ostracization, shame, humiliation, oppression and anger.
I often read that prominent Lilith contacts in synastry (but I'd add composite to that too!) need both partners to be healthy, functional (or at least have an idea of what that should be and look like) and communicate effectively and clearly, be vulnerable and honest. While this is definitely true, any strong Lilith energy in relationships between a woman and a man needs the man to dissect his views and held notions of women, I believe. Not that anyone should dissect and deconstruct what their internalized held beliefs of what gender, and what femme and masculine is, to begin with (duh), but I repeat my previous statement about Lilith’s themes: Lilith ultimately finds itself battling and dealing with power dynamics, because it represents you and your raw self, all the desires and needs in relation to others/society. Lilith is described as dark and hidden because that’s exactly what we are taught to do with Lilith energy: hide it.
The woman in the connection, especially if she is Lilith, will be the woman that will mentally have the man on his knees because her mere existence can challenge his previously believed authority he has on her/women, as well as the way people are wired and set in position in society. We see him questioning the ‘script’ or holding close to it like a dogma. There is (sometimes watered down) anger and resentment a man will channel towards the woman he has Lilith contact with. It can often be thoughts of ‘how dare she’ and ‘I’ll stop her before she even gets the chance to start’. As much as the escapism we search for online think this might turn out in an overly romanticzed femme fatale fantasy, reality often hits us hard when we see dysfunctional relationships unfolding right in front of us.
She will be the announcement of a possible challenge, a test of character, which he'll fail or master. It's a question of morality, for both. Because Lilith here can be the person he always dreamed of, but always has been too afraid to engage with. There is something uttrely objectifying happening when talking about lilith and it's effects, even if you don't want to, it is bound to happen living in the world we are in right now.
And this has all to do with what Lilith stands for. Especially those who have strong Liltih influence in their chart (doesn't matter which Liltih you use) - I'm talking in angular houses, on the angles, in contact to personal planets or to the chart ruler - have undeniably an interesting relationship with and effect on those people who want them to 'follow the scrip' in the way society wants it. And very important (!!): just because someone has strong Lilith influence, doesn't mean that they are in any way better or worse than other women. I want to highlight this because women with Lilith energy will get shit from anyone (!!) who has strong internalized misogyny in them. Think about the way women are raised to compete with each other and follow the script in order to survive and get by in a patriarchal society. Of course someone who's very 'Lilith' will trigger them. Same with men who encounter someone who's very 'Lilith'.
Lilith can join the club of the outsider that you'll find at the metaphorical table that is placed in an imagined highschool's cafeteria: finding her place right next to Scorpio, shaking hands with Uranus, Neptune and Pluto, nodding acknowledging to Cancer, Aquarius and Pisces.
I noticed women who have strong Lilith in their chart have had prominent themes of isolation, autonomy, exclusion and conflict in their life. Either born or forced in positions that has them relying on themselves and their gut instincts a lot (!) and the rest of their charts backed that up too. But whatever is touched by Lilith is bount to become fierce and brutal. Doesn't matter if it's natal, a transit, in composite; Lilith forces you to look within and unleash something inside of you, it works like a catalyst of some sort. Lilith also talks about demands. Think about how she demanded a different treatment, before she left the Garden Eden. Lilith's needs are that strong, that she is willing to face the brutal consequences of it. If anything, Lilith's pursue can be just as brutal (metaphorically, but perhaps phyiscally as well) as her will.
Tumblr media
Pop astrology makes Lilith out to be solely about the physical act of intimacy, and sexuality definitely is a theme for Lilith, but not in the way people think it is, I believe.
There is an undeniable generational trauma and influence Lilith has on those who are politically a woman (all inclusive term)/femme presenting.
I will be even bolder in my claims and say that we still view Lilith through the lense society views women that ultimately choose to abandon societal and cultural prestigue and status by choosing themselves no matter what will occure, especially if it also means having to play with those societal expectations or finding their own niche in those roles and scrips they have to follow to get by. And this is not me trying to #girboss Lilith, but rather me saying that our studies still integrate and reproduce held harmful beliefs of women.
Deciding to work with Lilith is deciding to choose yourself because you see beyond the oppression and injustice, no matter what you think that might be in your life or in the life of others. The reactionary nature is most of the times caused by pushing and pulling from those who want her to follow the script. But Lilith often wants to write her own script, or at least edit what people have been given to her.
This is why, for example, women with Lilith in contact with their Juno will be known as partners that are demanding in the eyes of those who want them to act as we expect women to be in relationships. They expect commitment that borders on obedience but these individuals will eventually combust under the pressure. They will find their way to assert their own role, but at the same time they can end up with people that are inherently lilith to them in the best or worst ways. Likewise, we see celebrity men with Lilith Juno contacts that are known to be immoral lovers, not caring if the spotlights are on them or not. The whole world is gonna see, how they want to have commitment and what it requires. (not to say that you are doomed to be a horrible partner just because you have Lilith-Juno contacts, this is just one way it can manifest!)
I believe that at it’s best and it’s very essence, Lilith is not about choosing hate over love, glorifying destruction over peace and community. I truly believe that at it's core and very best, Lilith is ancient and wise, she knows - because she has wisdom that is inherent to her - what is right and wrong for her and she downright rejects the status quo because she can see beyond the limitations and power plays people have put on each other. She is the link to our gut feeling, I believe. And it acts out, whenever something doesn't sit quiet right with us, or something might feel incredibly good (for better or worse). Again, Lilith was ostracized and forced to be alone, she had to be and sit with herself. That doesn't mean Lilith is the ulterior good, but rather the 'what if you would choose to not follow the script - what if you become mindful of your own and listen within yourself.'
She is very much wild and raw and instinctual as mother earth herself is (the sadow of the moon). Remember, after all, she is according to the stories the very first woman. She is following a very deep rooted beat of a drum, a melody, that will always guide her through life, she wants to connect to her own, inherent eco system.
When I research Lilith in astrological texts and read about her, no matter which Lilith it is, it most of the time feels almost like a caricature, oddly enough. If she's not 100% girlbossyfied, she is mostly only seen as the 'evil one' (or at least very constroversial figure). Despite the fact that she indeed can be bad, it's also a role Lilith was pushed to take on too, because after all, there hasn’t been any cooperation with her. So she doesn’t cooperate and rather does her own thing (for better and worse, but as long as it feels good to her, there's probably no one who can stop her). Looking at it from a more psychological and sociological lens, Lilith's story inherently integrates the idea of 'I play the villian you always thought of me as'. Which is in itself an (unfortunate) self-fulfilling and isolating prophecy. It's not inherently a cool, but rather a cruel thing, but she had to work her way around that too, I guess.
Growing up 'Lilith', I do want to talk about the many facettes she has. I don't think that the reduction of Lilith as a mere 'sexual' indication does her justice, even if the sexual part does play a role after all. Picking up the previous point about astrology and sexuality, I wonder how the extreme sexualization and fetishization of anything a woman does plays into the sex-focused interpretations of her (but I think part of the credit has to be given to the way sexuality - especially in women - is also used as a method and commodity).
I also often read about women that are Lilith and feel very wise and mature, being a spiritual teacher to their lovers. I personally agree. I feel the wisdom and knowledge of Lilith can get twisted - either she becomes the 'crazy one' or people take away her agency and personhood and reduce her to the (sexual) magnetism that she possesses by being deeply involved and concerned with her sexual energy (aka creative energy, it's the force we connenct with when we create ANYTHING). Thus, often resulting in her being very much in touch with it.
There’s also the concept of motherhood that I keep thinking about. After all Lilith made sure to revenge her killed children by.....kiling other children? Uhh, don't know really about that move but sure, you show them that was fucked up ig.
Since Lilith is the shadow of the moon, I wonder how much our upbringing, our mother figure and motherhood influence Lilith’s energy.
And of course: the other woman. Lilith came back to the Garden Eden just to find Adam with another chick!!! After she had to leave when she wanted to be treated with basic respect. And yes, she did take revenge on Adam too, but point is that Lilith also deals with betrayal and distrust.
There is so much I could write about Lilith. I feel one can't discuss and learn about lilith without getting sociological, political and a bit psychological as well. After all, she is one of the most complex and intruiging figures out there. Controversial. The dark side of the moon.

Hello! I hope you noticed me this time because your Lilith observations sparks interest in me. 🙏
Would you mind if you could help me interpret a lilith placement of Osculating Lilith in Aries in 6th house quintile moon, trines pluto, oppositioning my ascendant and squaring my mc. Black Moon Lilith (True Osculating) in the 1st house ✰
Part one. **TW/SA**
Tumblr media
When Lilith is positioned in your first house of self you embody her. You are the Lilith archetype.
As a child she was exiled and shamed for her physical body, her mannerisms, and especially her autonomy. Often proclaimed to be selfish, overtly sexual, or even overall evil. Some call her a witch or a home wrecker. The reactions to her are nothing less than intense. Some are fanatically immersed in all that Lilith presents in her. Others repelled in utter disgust. These reactions are due to her raw and earthly femininity and sexual being. She is primal and unapologetic. Suitors are innately attracted to her. Her pheromones intoxicate and draw them in like flies to honey. Women are jealous and catty with her and though do what they can to emulate what she is.
Childhood ✰
Tumblr media
In childhood and adolescence they shunned her for her vitality. And as a result she internalized this rejection and created a profoundly deep emotional wound. She feels deep inside that as she is, is not to be. One is shamed for their body at an early age. All while simultaneously being sexualized, again, prematurely. She is perceived as a rebel child. And treated as a grown, self conscious, adult. Sometimes in the most insidious ways. Trauma involves being beaten, r*ped, or otherwise coerced into submission. They believed she was too outspoken and hardheaded. Too inappropriate. Too Mean. Too scary. The sign will show you for exactly all she was ridiculed for.
Coming of age ✰
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In adolescence this may manifest as her beginning to repress herself and express others projections outwardly and truly rebel. She shows off and she does her own thing, seemingly “with a chip on her shoulder”. Her Lilith is now fiercely independent and may result to violence if you threaten her autonomy. Now leaning in, to taboos and no no’s. She says fuck you to anyone who dares tell her who she is, who she should be, or what she does. Still victim to the abuse of masculine figures attempting to tame the Lilith individual. They want to put her in “a girls place”. There may be feelings of androgyny. As she may attempt to repress herself outwardly as well. This is seen by her only feeling comfortable covering up in clothing and being extra shy and reserved. Still she is called a whore and bullied by women who are uncomfortable with their own raw feminine. She is catcalled in the streets and her body objectified by peers. She is perceived to far from innocent and disobedient which she very well may be.
Wound ✖️
Tumblr media
She rejects her identity and even becomes uncomfortable in her body and ashamed of her own body. She internalizes her rage as well as her fears. Her perception of self is altered as she looks in the mirror and is ashamed of what she sees. Though she would never admit this. A victim of self harm and abuse from others. There are themes of androgyny. As she may be told that she sits like a boy. Or because she simply presents herself as masculine and suppresses her femininity. At times Lilith may purposely be sexual overt to claim back ownership of her body. Has the attitude of “well if they’re going to stare. ill give them something to look at”. She ruffle feathers and says fuck off to anyone who dares threaten her autonomy. She will turn to violence if she is denied her freedom. She may rebel in primitive ways like inappropriately spitting, urinating, defacating, or sexually. Obsessed with self and presentation. Hates anyone who comments on the body, compliment or not. Often she is catcalled and her body objectified.
Body & Aura ✰
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The body is used as protest. Her sexuality is gooey and traps many. Bewitching. Earthly sensuality. Insecure women intimidated by her basic state of being. Fragile masculines attempting to get her to submit in one form or another. May have an overall “dark” look to her. She wears black or dark clothing to protect herself. And she is uncomfortable and embarrassed by compliments. Rejection will be experienced forever. Victim or self harm. Physical (sexual) abuse from others. In attempts to maintain her independence she may add something to her appearance that is taboo or non feminine or “wrong”.
Black Moon Lilith is personified in this house. Thus meaning the person with this placement with forever has Lilith energy accessible. In other parts I hope to explain how to accept and harness the power of Lilith in the first house. This is placement that I have in my chart personally.

Is it possible to have multiple black moon Lilith in your birth chart? Just curious because I have black moon Lilith in 7th and 8th house 🙂
Hi! I don't think so, as it can only be in one place at a time. Is it possible you're talking about two different liliths?
There are five main ones:
Asteroid Lilith 1181
Black Moon (Mean) Lilith h12
Osculating (True) Lilith h13
Dark Moon (Waldemath) Lilith h58
Interpolated Lilith (Lunar Apogee) h21
Asteroid lilith is the only lilith placement with a physical body, the others are only theoretical points with differences in calculations.
Tumblr media
Black moon and Asteroid Lilith are probably the two most common ones and since they're all technically 'lilith' they often get confused! To figure out which ones are showing on your chart, look at the catalogue number it's under (1181, h12, h13, h58, h21).
In terms of which one is more important/accurate, I am not sure... Many people have different opinions and there's a lot of general disagreement and lack of consensus. I'd suggest looking at each one and seeing which one sounds more accurate to you personally.

Black Moon Lilith
The astrological sign Black Moon Lilith is the skyward representation of The Dark Goddess. Beyond Her other planetary correspondences such as Venus and Saturn, this celestial body and occurrence is a lunar apogee, by definition. Merriam-Webster defines "apogee" as "the point in the orbit of an object (such as a satellite) orbiting the earth that is at the greatest distance from the center of the earth." Here, the word "satellite" takes on the astronomical definition meaning "a celestial body orbiting the earth or another planet." With all that being said, the phase of the moon in the occurrence of a lunar apogee may seem irrelevant. Afterall, an apogee doesn't need to be in any one phase to become an apogee; the moon will keep moving regardless. It's not entirely irrelevant, however. The moon phase in which it occurs may hold astrological and personal meaning to the practitioner.
Tumblr media
Black Moon Lilith is also known as "Mean Lilith." The black moon is calculated based on the average elliptical orbit of the moon at its farthest point (distance) in relation to the Earth. In order for you to understand this concept better, I will explain True Lilith first. True Lilith, also known as "Osculating Lilith," is a point in reference to the furthest point of the moon from the Earth on an unsteady ellipse due to its perturbation. The "wobble" of the moon is the conventionally accepted simplification for a "nodal precession." According to Wikipedia, "nodal precession is the precession of the orbital plane of a satellite around the rotational axis of an astronomical body such as Earth. This precession is due to the non-spherical nature of a rotating body, which creates a non-uniform gravitational field." The "non-spherical nature of a rotating body" is referencing the Earth's equatorial bulge. "The Earth has a rather slight equatorial bulge: it is about 43 km (27 mi) wider at the equator than pole-to-pole, a difference which is about 1/298 of the equatorial diameter." I don't necessarily like to use Wikipedia as a source, but these sentences were worded too perfectly for me to leave them out. Taking all of this into account, the furthest point in relation to the moon's precession, or "wobble" in its elliptical orbit is True Lilith. Mean Lilith, or Black Moon Lilith is a theoretical point farthest from Earth within the average elliptical orbit of the moon, if the Earth were a perfect sphere. Neither of these points are right or wrong, they both simply take a different mathematical approach.
The well-known Black Moon Lilith symbol (or sigil, depending on how you see it) refers to Mean Lilith. Although it is most commonly associated with Mean Lilith, there are people who associate it with True Lilith. I personally believe it's associated with Mean Lilith by default and in my case (meaning it resonates with me). If True Lilith resonates with you, then go with that. Having Black Moon Lilith in the different signs and houses can have different meanings for an individual as well. Furthermore, it is possible that if you have Black Moon Lilith in your ascendant in your natal chart, you are more likely to be in Her favor and have a relationship with Her. I say possibly because whether this is true or not, I know my matron isn't so rigid (but then again She could be since there is no defining the powerful being associated with immeasurable freedom). If you don't have Black Moon Lilith in your AC (ascendant), don't let that stop you from reaching out to Her. In fact I'd say you're stupid if you did. She does as She pleases and a theoretical point won't stop Her. The placement isn't some key you need to somehow just have in order to be able to work with Her. She calls Her own whoever She wants. I genuinely do believe astrology and the zodiac to an extent, but I would never let it dictate my life. If you do have the black moon in your AC, don't let your ego in, it does not serve you. Evidently, She doesn't work with everyone with the placement. There are people with the placement who don't even know it or care to know it. These are people who couldn't be further from this path and have it. There could even be people on the path that have it and can't work with Her because She doesn't want to. You have to respect Her.
There are two additional Liliths in astrology. One of them is Dark Moon Lilith, also known as "Waldemath Moon," "Ghost Moon," or "Sepharial's Moon." It was and still is an obscure hypothetical second moon which hasn't ever been proven to exist. It was "discovered" sometime in the 17th century. The other Lilith in astrology is Asteroid Lilith. Numerous sources indicate that Asteroid Lilith was discovered February 11, 1927 by Russian-French astronomer Benjamin Jekhowsky and had been named after the French composer Lili Boulanger.
Tumblr media
You may be wondering how to find the Liliths in your natal chart. I used the website AstroDienst (https://www.astro.com/h/index_e.htm). The website had undergone an intensive update simplifying it. For me it only increased complications since I had already known how to use it when it was 'mechanical.' Luckily for me I had created and saved my natal chart before the update. In other words, I can't tell you how to do it; I tried it once with the new version and it was pretty rough. One thing you will need though are the object codes. They are as follows: 1181, H13, H21, and H58, for Asteroid Lilith, True Lilith, Mean Lilith, and Dark Moon Lilith, respectively. Be certain to get every detail down to the minute, approximate location, and whatever else for a precise and accurate result.
Darkest blessings, ⛧DivinumVentus

LILITH ⚸
i. BASICS
Polarity: Yin and Yang Element: Water and Fire
Rulership: debatable. Scorpio is generally associated with Lilith. I personally believe that she is ruled by Scorpio & exalted in Sagittarius.
-- What is Lilith?
There are four Liliths (or technically three -- one with two calculation methods) but Black Moon Lilith is what I will be referring to in this post; this is the “primary” or “most important” Lilith, which is most closely associated with the myth and traditional archetype. The other Liliths have separate connotations & require different interpretations.
Black Moon Lilith is essentially (equal to) the lunar apogee. In other words, the Black Moon is the point in the moon’s orbit when it is farthest from the earth. There are two ways to calculate it -- “True” Lilith refers to the accurate calculation, and “Mean” Lilith refers to the average (smoothed) calculation. True Lilith is used most commonly, as many astrologers believe accounting for the wildly oscillating orbit of the lunar apogee reflects the uncontrolled nature of the archetype & energy of Lilith itself.
ii. ARCHETYPES
The Rejected Eve. The Dark Mother or anti-mother, the “Shadowed” (corrupt) Madonna. The Harlot, the Provocateur, the (sexual) Pariah, the Unwoman, the Woman King. The Vampiress, the Demon-Goddess or Demon Queen, the Mother of Monsters. The Witch, the Enchantress, the Mistress or Temptress.
Lilith is not about “evil,” Lilith is about deviance.
She represents exactly what we are not supposed or allowed to be, particularly if one is punished or rejected for being it. She is the “Joan of Arc” of social and sexual roles -- for everyone, but especially women. She is the untamed subversion of female limitations, and the mother of feminine rebellion.
Above all, Lilith is a symbol of self-ownership and self-creation, regardless of stigma, standards, & rules. Shamelessness and defiance define her.
iii. ORIGIN
The figure of the “Dark Mother” or “Demon-Goddess” is one of the oldest archetypes; there have been many different impressions of her throughout history -- all incredibly rich in detail, diversity, and significance. Many astrologers subscribe to the Biblical mythology of Lilith, which affirms that she was the first woman created by God. She was produced the same way Adam was (from dirt or clay), but she refused to submit to him as God had intended. As a result of that, she was exiled from the Garden of Eden, and God replaced her with a new woman (Eve, this time created from Adam’s rib). Her eternity would be spent wandering the earth. In some versions, she fled Eden of her own volition, and God sent angels to retrieve her but she refused to submit to them as well. She then “became a demon who murdered infants and gave birth to monsters.”
The majority of the myth’s manifestations are highly negative in that way. She is almost always depicted as a demon or a witch, with destructive connotations where marriage, sex, and children are concerned; some romanticize the idea of her, some are deeply afraid of it, but the foundation of Lilith remains relatively consistent: she denies or is denied something, and this changes her radically. More importantly, it changes others’ perception of who she is. Whether she found freedom or corruption in her decision is not the point -- what matters is the fact that her choice is the crux of all that she is defined to be.
iv. MEANING
Lilith’s energy is raw, self-motivated, willful, subversive, tempestuous, and wild. Impulse and tact are unified under a singular all-important goal: liberation. Nothing matters more to Lilith than personal freedom.
-- She is associated with:
Seduction, lust, sexual hedonism, temptation. Sexuality, especially female sexuality. Non-traditional sexual acts or orientations, subversive sexual roles, fetishes, controversial or “deviant” behaviors, taboo sex acts, dark fantasies & urges, hidden sexual needs, unhealthy desires, harmful desires, or desires that are deemed unnatural.
Hidden needs in general, unnatural or uncommon psychological characteristics, emotional complexes, mental wounds, unhealthy expression of emotions (or emotional repression). Separation from the original self; trying to remove or defy or transform a part of oneself, changing parts of the self that were inborn or built in childhood, disowning personal structures. Defying or radically changing one’s nature, or radically accepting one’s nature.
Female power, female self-knowledge, female rebellion. Crimes & wrongdoings against women; crimes & wrongdoings committed by women. Oppression of women; structural or personal harm of women & girls.
Dark or toxic motherhood. Unhealthy mother-child relationships. Abusive mothers. Abuse in general, either physical or emotional, especially which targets the autonomy of a person. Manipulation and deceit.
Individuality, self-expression, and unapologetic assertion of identity, especially in the face of oppression, alienation, and slander or disgrace as a result of it. Self-ownership, independence, and free thought. Aspects of a person which are rejected and outcast by society; the components of what makes a person unique but also that make it difficult to integrate; whatever prevents others from accepting someone as part of a community. The isolation that comes from being “irreconcilably” different.
The more broad societal themes of rebellion (especially those which veer into political rather than personal territories) are not very close to Lilith’s core energy, but they do loosely relate to what she represents, particularly when it comes to women’s rights. Some of the most negative associations are less about what Lilith creates, and more about what Lilith has the power, resilience, & strength to endure. Lilith can have harmful manifestations, however.
In the natal chart, the primary themes are alienation/rejection, individual freedom, and sexuality. She is the part of us that is demonized for being different or for not conforming to what is demanded & expected. She is the part of us that questions our priorities when we are faced with two options: stifling integration or lonely individuality. She is the part of us that chooses singularity over acceptance, and which would rather make her own way alone than sacrifice autonomy for the safety found in adhering to repressive social structures.

Note
which lilith should i choose h13,h21,1181,h58??
Hello! It depends honestly on what you’re looking at in your chart. Each Lilith has a different meaning. Each Lilith encompasses a certain meaning.
H13 or “True Black Moon Lilith” (Osculating) and H21 or “Mean Black Moon Lilith”: These typically deal with the sexual empowerment traits of Lilith. It also deals with temptation, vengeance, things that are forbidden, seduction, psychedelic drugs, destruction, glamour, charisma, hypnotism, altered state, radical femininity, and obsession. This Lilith deals with our obsessions and our addictions. It also deals with our subconscious and our sexual energy. As well as our wants and needs. H21 is the most commonly used Lilith.
Asteroid Lilith or 1181: This Lilith is the only tangible celestial object, and people typically have an easier time connecting to this one. This asteroid deals with refusal, non-compromise, repressed anger, personal independence, fight or flight, involvement in freedom movements, and fleeing one’s oppressor.
H58 or Dark Moon Lilith: This Lilith deals with internal conflict, the need to meet our demons, our shadow selves, trauma, fantasies of rage and retaliation, working through feelings of shame, and distorted thinking. It’s associated with our darkest and lowest vibrations and how we act during our worst times.
So I’d say use the one that you connect to the most or the one that you personally want to look into in regards to those traits. If you connect more to your H58 Lilith than your Asteroid Lilith then use that. I personally use all of them, but that’s your decision. Hope this helps!

Mini astrology observation
WHY I'VE SEEN THIS SOO SOO MANY MANY TIMES OH GOSH. people with black moon lilith (h12,h13,h21) harshly aspecting (square, opposite, or sometimes conjunct) or sometimes even trine or sextile their personal planets during their younger years like maybe during middle school or teen years they are the bullying victim or the bully, but i've seen they become the bullying victim the most.
Example :
- I have sun trine my true osculating black moon lilith (h13) and i was bullied during my middle school years. Even i understand this is a positive aspect to have in astrology but it effects harshly in my life
- one of my middle school bully have their black moon lilith opposite their venus in a 0 orb and she was known for bullying people around the school. I am not their only victim. But we are already in good terms now.
