you cannot fight against Animal Rights Activist bullshit for only certain circumstances and spew ARA rhetoric when a situation pulls at your heartstrings.
Agricultural animals can be kept and produce eggs, dairy, fiber, etc. ethically given they are provided proper housing, water, food, vet care and enrichment.
Given proper housing, water, food, vet care, and enrichment dogs can live fulfilling lives outside of the interior of the home. Extreme weather is NOT dangerous for specific breeds of dogs (this goes both ways for hot and cold temperatures).
Given proper housing, water, food, vet care, and enrichment wild animals can live full lives out of the wild and in the care of conservation focused zoos.
Anyways.

uzuL [Evil Luzu]: Luzu, Luzu, Luzu, your heart is broken to pieces, you have been betrayed. Haven't you noticed that Quackity has replaced you with Rubius? When you could have helped in the elections.
Stop trying to justify his words, things are clear. Don't try to play blind, let your heart expel evil and blow up Quackity's house. You will feel the best relief for your heart.
[Later]
Luzu: I don’t feel good about doing bad things to Quackity. uzuL tricked me into confronting a friend. What am I saying? Friend?
He’s so much more than a friend.

i want to make one thing abundantly clear: i absolutely do not fuck with Animal Rights Activists. every single ARA ive encountered has been viciously ableist to me because i am a disabled person who cannot survive on a vegan diet. they've all tried to guilt trip me for eating meat when i have no other options.
i have had several doctors and nutritionists tell me that vegetarianism is basically off the table for me. i would not be able to get the nutrition i would need and i would die. when i say this, i am not asking for your advice. i am not asking for your opinion. i am stating a fact. i could not survive without consuming animal protein, and i have had DOZENS of animal rights activists tell me that if that's the case, "good riddance."
i have been told if i can't go vegan i am "not trying hard enough." i have been told i'm evil and disgusting for needing animal products to survive. i have been told that i am an animal abuser and murderer, and the only way to make up for it is to starve myself to death. i have been told, "if you really cared about animals, you'd kill yourself."
so yeah, no, if your ideology aligns with Animal Rights freaks in any way, shape, or form, let me know so i can block you. i am not interested in a debate. i do not want to hear your suggestions for my diet. i do not want to hear about your miracle cures. i am not interested in even greeting you on the street.
i do not fuck with ARAs. as far as i am concerned, they're all ableist, racist, hateful assholes. on my blog we are pro-hunting, pro-indigenous lifestyles, and pro-science based land management. this will not change now, nor will it ever.

Reading The Terraformers by Annalee Newitz is like, yeah okay its about cool space park rangers. Yeah okay, we still hate capitalism.
..okay so they figured out how to talk with animals, including moose. Cool
...okay so the moose can fly
...
Okay so the moose are having one night stands in the underground volcanoe of the secret society of people. Yeah okay.

Animal rights activists will have you thinking that if an animal goes into a shelter then it’s basically done for, and that, my friends, is a very effective propaganda tool.
You’ll find people talking about how all these animals are killed every year because there’s no room, and while that may have happened in the past, these days the numbers are much better and most animals will see their way to a loving home.
But what happens when there’s too many animals? They go to foster homes. They get transferred to credible nearby rescues and sanctuaries. They get adopted on waived fee adoption days.
The animals that get euthanized are either sick to the point where the resources to save them can’t be outweighed by how badly the sickness is affecting them, or have behavioral issues that haven’t been able to be changed through multiple homes and outlets. Feral cats can be trapped, neutered, and released; you can’t do the same with a stray dog that has a history of attacking people.
90% animal save rates are considered no-kill. That’s the way large city shelters work, at least from what I can tell from two large west coast cities.
I saw people complaining under an animal welfare propaganda video that they’re being turned away from adopting. Have you tried fostering the animal first? If the animal isn’t good with children and you have children then of course they’ll say no. If you don’t have the space for a working dog that loves to run then how is that fair for that dog? You can’t gift an animal to somebody the same way you can’t adopt and gift a child to someone. Can you commit to this animal or will you surrender it in a year because you no longer want it? These are questions we ask on our end because we want the animals to have loving homes. And if you can’t answer the most basic ones and don’t have the necessary experience to handle, say, a resource guarding dog-reactive canine then why would we just hand the dog over even if you have the money?
We have had several 10+ animal hoarding cases recently. You’re not saving them if you’re keeping them confined in your home with 11 others in a mess you can’t clean up. People abandon their dogs everywhere thinking that’s a good idea and then they end up in a shelter wondering where mom and dad went. People abandon their bunnies and Guinea pigs and their bearded dragons and their what-have-yous.
That’s why we have animal shelters in the first place and that’s why we NEED animal shelters because where would those animals go otherwise? They’d be hit by cars. Freeze to death. Starve to death.
I’m not saying all rescues are good— there have been instances of masked hoarding cases. But if you go to a humane society or a shelter, talk to the people who work there. Try volunteering there as a foster or as just a helper. Seeing the difference people make firsthand can really show you the work that goes into taking care of that many animals and helping them through to good homes. And your donations always help.

This is not going to be easy...
Plague Dogs is one of those films that that leaves an distinct impact on you after you watch it. Very few films leave you so emotionally drained after seeing it. And the book has also been praised by pretty much everyone who has read it, and it is also hard for reviewers to properly review it without having an emotional breakdown.
I two, struggled to write a review, not because of the emotional impact. It's because... I don't like the original novel...at all.
Yes, I said it. The film adaptation is better than the novel, and there are many reasons why the film succeeds and the novel falls by the wayside. And no, it's not because it was a sad novel. I have read much more darker and depressing novels than this (E.G. NO.6 by Atsuko Asano).
The reason I hate this novel is for reasons that are shocking and makes you wonder how propaganda like this still runs rampant even to this day...
The Story and Characters
The story is about two dogs that escape an animal research centre and try to survive out in the wild.
But the novel doesn't focus on the dogs, only less than a third of the book actually follows the dogs. No, the main part of this book is to describe backgrounds in the Lake District and to make humans look like the worst thing in existence.
I am not kidding when I say that none of the human characters are likeable. Not one are redeemable in any way. One of the Characters, Digby Driver, is one of the most Despicable characters I have EVER read about. If your curious, read his backstory on Wikipedia! The novel makes his actions 10x worse here than a webpage can describe it.
The dogs are given no memorable traits. They are just blank slates that the readers can project their dogs onto. Which gives the novel a sense of manipulation.
From the very first page when the dog drowns in the tank, the reader knows that this is not going to have a happy ending and that it clearly has a left-wing, PETA-Like agenda against ALL forms of animal testing.
Yes, some animals are poorly treated in these facilities, but most of them are given suitable habitats, and other than the test that they will go through, they live relatively normal lives.
Before you PETA fanatic go at me and call me an animal hater, let me make one thing clear...
I have lived with a lot of animals since childhood and I am currently taking an animal care course, and a science GCSE. I have read a lot about the different experiments they have given to animals, and all the animals have one thing in common...
They are healthy test subjects.
If the scientists had cruelly treated the animals and they were already sick, how would they know that the test (in this novel's case, medicine and disease control) was successful or they need to go back to the drawing board and try again.
Would I rather see other means of testing medication, of course I do. But until that day comes, we need to preform this necessary evil for the good of all. Clearly Richard Adams didn't do his research!
The entire novel only gives you one side of the argument without actually giving any viable reasons to agree with them. The author is so immature about the subject of animal testing, that he gave the animal research centre the acronym, A.R.S.E (a British slang for you buttocks!).
The fact that a reader complained about the ending of this novel speaks VOLUMES about this novel and how happy he was to give the work a "happy ending", people say that the first printing keeps the original ending. Luckily, my library has the first edition, and it is simply not true.
I did a bit more research and it was at the manuscript phase that the novel was changed to give the dogs a happy ending and add a scene where a girl who is seriously ill talks about the good of medical research in a childish way with her father.
The worst thing by far (other than the clear manipulation through guilt) is the character, Tod. What have they done to you, Tod? He is the only reason I read as far as he did, but the final nail in the coffin was his death.
The film gave The Tod a heroic death when he is trying to lead the police dogs away from the two main leads. In the book, he is killed by the gunman who gets eaten by the dogs.
It is the most disgusting scene I have ever read, not only did Rowf go out of character and eat the man in explicit detail. The Tod is captured and killed by the dogs, the gunman looks at his body, and throws at his hunting dogs to tear apart...
I am the only person disgusted by this novel? I mean, I know where Richard Adams is coming from, and I'm sure he had only the best intentions in mind, but why did he let the dogs die?
Well, if (and when) the dogs survived, they would of stopped being a construct and started becoming actual characters. They would of had to go through survivors guilt and Snitter recovering from his brain operation. It would of made it harder to project their own animals onto the two dogs. It would become Snitter and Rowf's story, not the reader's beloved animals. So the two dogs drown and all their troubles in life die with them.
The fact he wrote a "happy" ending angers me. He doesn't focus on the dog's recovery or what happened after they were rescued by the boatmen. The ending focuses on a father and little girl reading DR.Dolittle.
Richard Adams didn't care about the dogs, all he cared about was the message, and it isn't a good one.
The Illustrations
The illustrations are the only redeemable thing in this novel, the detail on them is beautiful. But later prints are removing the illustrations in later prints is confusing.
Even though they are only backgrounds and don't really fit into the story all that well, it is respite from the slog that is this novel. But now they are gone unless you hunt down an old copy, and they are getting harder to find for a reasonable price.
Final Thoughts
I am amazed that the film became a masterpiece despite the odds, and I still enjoy the film even after reading this novel.
The novel is a stark reminder how even today, people can easily manipulate you. And with a controversial topic like animal testing, we need someone with more of a neutral opinion about this topic, and not a left-wing activist preaching the word of PETA and god outside of these facilitie, harassing the workers who look after these animals...

I’ve seen a lot of people genuinely and sincerely wondering why the Federation can’t heal Empanada back up to two lives using the Egg Hospital, and that just means that the Federation Propaganda is working.
So let me explain how the Eggs work within the lore of the QSMP:
The Eggs, in the beginning, were supposed to be a one or two week event. The parents with the happiest egg would get a prize. The parents with dead eggs would be punished.
Within Lore, these original eggs- Dapper, Leo, Chayanne, Ramon, Tilin, Flippa, Bobby, and Trump(et)- were the children of a “dragon mother” who had flown away from the island after the islanders blew up the wall. Tallulah was a later addition, but she is “biologically” (we’ll come back to the quotation marks in a second) related to the og eggs. So is Pomme, who had been stuck under the adoption center for over a month waiting to be adopted. Our outliers are Richarlyson- who wasn’t even supposed to exist yet, Sunny, Empanada, and Pepito.
And then there are the other Eggs. The dead ones. Like “Hope”, the egg the Federation left to die in the middle of nowhere waiting to be adopted. Or Egg A1, the egg ElQuackity was experimenting on that burned to death. Or the several dead eggs mentioned in the Maze Book, the ones who would be Sunny and Empanada and Pepito’s siblings if those three really are the three surviving eggs from the Maze Book.
You see, the Eggs aren’t real. They’re artificial. We’ve known this since May/June when SOFIA analyzed “Richarlyson’s placenta” (don’t ask) and found, wow! The Eggs are essentially artificial, inorganic lifeforms. And then we see ElQ experimenting on A1, and then we hear about the Maze Experiment, and then we find out about Egg Island and how the Federation technically owns it, and we realize, oh. Huh.
The Eggs have never met their supposed dragon mother. That’s because she doesn’t exist. The Eggs were created solely for the purpose of the experiment the islanders are unwillingly part of. They’re tools, and the Federation doesn’t care about them.
The Eggs, to the Federation, are more or less expendable. The Feds’ primary focus is the islanders and keeping them under control. The Eggs still being alive now is only because the Feds quickly realized that their test subjects would fucking lose it if the Eggs were taken away like they were supposed to have been.
But if the Eggs happen to die on their own, so be it. That’s fine. They’re kids, they’re fragile.
Tilin and Flippa and Trump and Bobby are all dead, and it’s been shown that the Feds could have brought them back permanently by putting them in the hospital they canonically have, or by bringing them back “by magic” like how Sapo Peta revived Flippa after the trial. This is why Cellbit infiltrated the Feds in the first place and it’s a HUGE part of why he hates them now! He knows that they could keep every egg safe and alive, but they choose not to because, again, the eggs are expendable!
If the Federation had their way, the Eggs wouldn’t have been retrieved at all when they disappeared. But the islanders started going berserk and rebelling and the Feds went “Oh, shit”, and thus the Eggs’ return was made a priority.
The Eggs are a form of control, and everybody even remotely questioning the Federation knows it. Keeping the Eggs around and alive serves to keep the islanders in line. If they rebel, the Eggs could die. This is why the Eggs were brought back in the first place, and it’s why the parents of dead eggs and those without eggs in the first place were the ones assigned to Sunny, Empanada, and Pepito. Those people couldn’t be controlled, but now they can be. People like Tubbo won’t mess with Cucurucho anymore because they don’t want their kids dead; it’s why Cellbit only started lashing out after Richarlyson had been gone for almost two months.
So… why don’t they just keep the Eggs alive?
Easy. Because the Eggs are expendable. Them living is the easiest option, but them dying isn’t really a huge issue. People like Jaiden have been easy enough to manipulate after losing their egg. Grieving parents so far haven’t had huge explosive reactions (except for Maxo, who very notably did have a huge explosive reaction.) Slime and Mariana fell into depressive states, Jaiden became easier to manipulate, Quackity was able to be kidnapped and brainwashed. Roier and Maxo kept their illegal rebellious activities under wraps, and neither really made any big huge moves against the Feds (again, outside of the nuke.)
If the Eggs die naturally, it’s fine. It’s the parents’ faults for letting their child die- just look at how nobody blamed the Federation for permanently taking Bobby away, but people both on the server and off blamed Roier for “getting him killed”, or how Mariana is the scapegoat for the Federation not bringing Flippa back to life when they easily could’ve done so.
Eggs dying naturally turns islander aggression inwards… with the exceptions of Cellbit, Roier, and Maxo, and now Bagi and Mousey. The Feds don’t want anyone getting angry at them, they want the islanders to get angry at themselves. That way, nobody can organize against them.
So the Feds won’t reverse a life lost. They won’t revive a dead egg. They don’t need to. The Eggs aren’t the experiment here. They aren’t important.

asking in genuine good-faith; why do so many people not take issue with fur farms? most of the reasoning i see from people who are pro-fur farms is that real fur is more environmentally friendly than faux fur, which is true. however, it is also difficult for me to understand how keeping animals like foxes in a fur farm environment provides any real quality of life for them. i also feel that comparing things such as injuries occurring from overcrowding foxes or them being culled by farmers to death/injury from natural causes from life in the wild isn’t logically sound, as those are two completely different situations. i don’t understand how people who are against foxes being kept as pets or used as props out of concern for their welfare, can then be alright with them being kept in fur farms. i would really appreciate hearing your perspective.
I'll go ahead and say this but I'm sure you're aware @/is-the-fox-video-cute has plenty of resources backed with sources to explain why fur farming is not an inherently bad practice. Because of that I'm just going to talk about my opinions on the subject.
I share properly researched information about fur farming is because PETA and other Animal Rights Activist groups are full of shit. They are constantly spreading misinformation about animals in general, but their anti-fur propaganda has been so successful it's nearly impossible in the US to find actual scientific or first-hand sources talking about fur farming. ARA propaganda about fur farming has done more harm than good for both the industry and the animals. This includes ARAs staging footage of animals being abused and killed. They will literally do anything to spread their propaganda.
I'm not a fan of commercialized animal agriculture in general, but it's more of an issue of wanting better standardized welfare regulations for the animals and employees then the actual practice of raising animals for food and other resources. In places where proper welfare standards are met, the foxes are very well cared from start to finish. They have to be because the quality of the fur is directly dependent on the health and wellbeing of the foxes. But the constant push from ARA groups and anti-fur lobbying hinders progress. It makes it difficult to improve the industry when half the time you're having to fight just to be able to run the farms in the first place. I want to see the welfare standards improve more and more over time (and they defiantly have), but ARA groups are actively preventing that from happening on a larger scale.
Fur is much more environmentally friendly than faux fur, but fur farming also keep pressures off the demand of fur from wild populations. There are wild red fox subspecies and other furbearers who's populations are threatened due to overhunting and commercial trapping of the animals. Again, in farms where proper welfare standards are met, animals are regularly checked by the farmers/staff and given regular veterinary care. An injured fox in a fur farm is far more likely to be treated than a fox that was injured in the wild.
Most pet foxes descended from fur farms and even now Save A Fox purchases her (very poorly bred) foxes directly from fur farms. So what I don't understand is how people are ok with having animals from fur farms as pets, yet choose to spread lies about the fur farming industry and lie about their sources. Like you wanted a pet fox so badly you bought multiple ones from an unethical fur farm??? Gross. Again, if the industry had better overall welfare standards, it would help improve the lives of these animals. Theoretically, that would make it more ethical for people to own pet foxes, but as things currently stand it's only promoting bad business practices and directly financing bad fur farms. The reality is that fur farms that follow proper welfare standards take better care of their foxes than most private owners, and yes that includes SAF.
I'm not trying to convince people to be 100% ok with the practice without thinking critically about the issues it does still have in it's current state. I just want to lobby for better welfare standards in the fur industry. I want to see the industry improve because that improves the lives of the animals involved and could help with setting better welfare standards in other parts of animal agriculture. Spreading misinformation isn't going to help in the slightest, especially when people are out here actively harming the animals to do so.

everytime ppl start talking abt corvuskatana/flightfootwarrior n their white veganism, i have to remind myself that not everyone has spent multiple years in the animal welfare vs animal rights trenches n therefore arent aware of what actually goes on in vegan/animal rights circles n how deceiving their talk n theory are vs what they are in practice. like these ppl dont say ‘animal agriculture is just like slavery/the holocaust/native genocide’ bc they actually believe that or even care abt those subjects, they say it bc its edgy n gets attention easily. misinformation n propaganda served with very dramatic and edgy language n visuals is like, the Thing for these ppl (look at anything peta has posted for example, bc no matter how much they wanna deny it everything in the animal rights shit comes back to peta n shit that peta has funded n ‘researched’)

Tumblr hates links but the issue of pit bulls has definitely been aggravated by groups like PETA, who have historically allied with groups who push for euthanizing pits and other pit-crosses. Quick Google search on PETA's history with pit bulls brought up a decade of articles and papers on it, go ahead and search it yourselves. And... a lot of *those* issues stem from decades old racism, as it wasn't uncommon for people of color in the southeast and other areas of the US to have pits and pit-crosses in the 1950s and 60s before the breed popularized elsewhere (at least, as far as I've read). The rest of the bullshit falls in line. Like, for fucks sake, goldendoodles and german sheps maim more often than pits, should we euthanize all goldendoodles and german sheps for aggression? Like c'mon. Wish people would do some research before parroting the same PETA and Carlson-worshiping bigot talking points.
I did mean to mention the racism inherent in anti-pit propaganda in my long tirade but I don’t think I remembered to really get into that so let me finish that thought here.
Pit bulls are very common pets in low income areas. They are also a breed heavily associated with black and Latino people. Breed bans are often used as a form of gentrification to prevent “undesirables” from moving into certain areas. But they can’t say that’s what it is, so they spread tons of bizarre myths like “pit bulls have a ratchet lock mechanism in their jaw so when they bite down it’s impossible for them to let go until they tear something” and such nonsense that makes them sound like the terminator or demons when they’re legitimately just a generic large breed that builds muscle readily.

Poor Simba is tryna pull an Alex the Lion on a tasty-looking fawn, only to be lectured by a white whiney nerd with PETA propaganda.
And man... You know where it's aching. Well, not a king, but three "soon-to-be-one" of them. Little do they know is that if Simba does end up eating Bambi, all of them will simply vanish into oblivion. Because we all know that Bambi, is the source of the universe, and time itself.

Gravity Falls/Hunger Games
This is my idea/outline for a Gravity Falls and Hunger Games crossover/AU.
If anyone wants to write this for real you are welcome too, just be sure to give me credit and tag me!
----------
The Pines family is all from district 7; The Lumber District.
Stan won the 40th Games at the age of 16.
Ford won the 42nd Games at 18.
Mabel won the 66th Games at 16.
Dipper won the year after his sister at 17.
The Pines Family is very well known in the Capital as being the 'Family Of Victors.'
Pacifica was raised in the Capital and was a intern stylist during Dipper's games, they hated each other at first.
After getting to know him and watching him compete in the games Pacifica came to slowly realize that maybe the Capital isn't the best.
After a few years the two started dating in secret.
The skill Dipper picked up after his games was writing and publishes his own books and poems. However, he only releases about a 3rd of what he writes because he doesn't want to anger the higher ups of the Capital.
After the 74th Games (the year Katniss and Peta won) Dipper recklessly wrote and published a poem about the their games with a bit of a hidden message about rebellion.
Snow decided to rig the 75th games so Dipper ends up volunteering for Stan.
Stan and Ford work with District 13 along with a former game maker, Fiddleford Mcgucket.
Dipper is part of Katniss alliance.
When Katniss breaks the Quarter Quell arena Dipper is captured with Annie, Peta, and Johanna.
Snow lies to him that his family is now all dead and makes him write propaganda speeches with the threat of removing his tongue, using Dipper's words against him.
Stan, Ford, Mabel, and Pacifica are all safe in sound in District 13.
Dipper and Mabel join Katniss' strike team against the Capital.
Thanks to Mabel's quick thinking (and her grappling hook) she saves Finnick's life.
Once the war is over Dipper and Pacifica go back (or move in her case) to District 7 where they get married and raise a family together.
