I was recommended by a friend, a Pokemon fan game called Pokemon Sweets! I absolutely loved the adorable pixel art but I unfortunately I wasn't able to finish it because of the well.. very confusing typings 😅
I have no hate towards the creator of the game! After all making your own Pokie ROM hack game with all new sprites, stats, moves, abilities, and such is super difficult!
I just have some slight recommendations for the PokieSweet typings! This is just my interpretation of what flavors can go with which types!
Normal = Vanilla (pretty obvious lol)
Fire = Cherry or Orange
Water = Blueberry or Watermelon
Grass = Lime, Mint, or Matcha
Flying = Apple (cause of apples being high up on trees and Issac Newton's apple falling and such) or Cloudberry
Ground = Yams (yams can be considered sweet and are burried in the ground) or Beetroot
Electric = Lemon
Fighting = Cinnamon (since it can be both sweet and spicy!)
Dragon = Dragon fruit
Dark = Dark chocolate or Devil's food(?)
Fairy = Bubblegum, Angel's food, or cotton candy(ie FAIRY floss)
Steel = Toffee (since steel is like ground but refined and harder)
Psychic = Strawberry or raspberry
Ghost = Lavender, Soul food (cause ghost eat souls pretty obvious), or black licorice
Poison = Boisenberry (cause ya know..it sounds like poison) or Grape
Rock = Rock candy or Rocky road
Ice = Mint, blue raspberry, or Spearmint/Peppermint
Bug = Coconut, Honey, or Banana

Something about the Leagues I find interesting is very rarely do newer trainers make it far. Yes, we’ve seen Ash get in top sixteen since Kanto. But honestly he is an outlier to most normal trainers who only go on one or two journeys…
How many trainers with only an almost year of experience make it past the preliminary rounds. Take the Kalos League for example, Alain was the MVP of the arc and he had almost three yet it’s experience against the other trainers. Trevor got knocked out without talking down any of his Pokémon. I have a feeling this is a pattern where new trainers get taken out early.
(Though I am still salty about Cameron, the clueless Unovan trainer with a Riolu/Lucario, winning his battle against Ash.) Trainers who make it far in their first year must become kinda famous. Especially those who aren’t sponsored by anyone like Pokédex trainers.
ngl one of the main reasons why I don't like Unova is because the fact that Cameron won against Ash and absolutely new trainers would definitely be boosted up in popularity if they aren't sponsored by anyone.

Gym leader WAKE?
Listening to my younger brother play Pokemon on his good o' emulator on the laptop is funny because you KNOW he hasn't played a single video game in the genre. The rage quitting every 10 minute, the one battle that's still taking him like half an hour to do.
It does seem like he has some knowledge of how it works, but I'm possitive that the more complicated stuff like the full type chart or how abilities and rng work is beyond him. Which is fair honestly, he's still in middle school. He'd be like " I have a plan on how to beat that guy now." only to complain about the npc wrecking his team and spamming potions minutes later. He's visually shaking in his seat.
Then there's also him complaining about the fact that his Pokemon "doesn't get any new skills" after leveling up. IDK what that says about him but he also doesn't know how to pause the emulation so I constantly hear pokemon music in the background which might be a plus...... if it isn't the battle theme because apparently Bro's stuck at GYM LEADER WAKE.
Destroyer of a 6th grader's dreams.
I tried to help him but he has no healing items and is underleveled. He does have 1 luxray but that's not nearly enough. His plan seems to be trying to 1 hit ko everything or put stuff to sleep but the waterfall spamming gyarados won't allow that, it outspeed his entire team. Plus it wouldn't work anyways, you don't just ko everything consistently with that moveset
Doesn't stop him from being confident anyways, so carry on then my guy.

Dream Journal: dreamt the world was being invaded and "Pokeformed" by an other dimension villain team, "Team Outer." Meaning they were using something to transform various things and creatures into Pokemon.

Can I get your opinion of stories that start pre-canon—whether it’s the games or anime? How authors try to fill roles for gym leaders makes me want to read more of them. It’s always very interesting when they try to explain how certain characters become who we know them as. Did the OC change something fundatamental, were they the motivation (positive or negative) for a character acting a certain way? Has one of them every managed to get Kukui in a shirt?
eijroif the last question really threw me off guard.
I honestly love a little bit of pre-canon. I have a few small OC's just for that like the Chairman before Rose is named Chairman Thorn in - I believe - my Found Family!au. the main part is the fact if the pre-canon is written well then I'm more then happy to read it.
