She senses Lancer knows what it’s like too bc even though he doesn’t really talk about it, he wouldn’t have asked that question if he didn’t have a reasonable expectation for her to drop him if he was.

He’s literally so scared to lose her friendship and in within the minute she reassures him that, “dude, it’s all good, you have nothing to be sorry for” when he’s been made to feel sorry for literally existing by everyone for so long I-

Short yandere thing cuz why not.

It knew what it looked like. It knew what effect it has on humans who see it late at night. It didn't mean for that man in 16-something or other to lose his mind and be tried for witchcraft as a result. It was only looking around that nunnery because the stained glass was beautiful, honest. It never ment to become bound and bonded to one particular little human where the only purpose of being there is to drum up fear.

It tried to hide as much of itself away as possible in your tiny room but you always went screaming and crying to your much larger human caretakers with claims of there being a "monster" in your cluttered and claustrophobic closet or under your very mattress. When your guardians had enough of the "stories" and slowly stopped coming to comfort you, it tried to step in. How could they be so careless and heartless to ignore a crying child after all.

It has tried multiple things. Such as engulfing you in peaceful darkness but had only seemed to make the crying worse. The next week it figured that you wanted your guardians to watch over you while you slept so when night fell it had eyes fixate on you from everywhere in the room. That way, no matter where you turned, it would always be there watching you sleep. This once again, to it's bewilderment, ended with tears and cries of guardianship. Maybe it was too many eyes all at once and in too many unexpected places, it decided. So three nights later it turned all of the heads of dolls/action figures/plushies/toys towards the bed so that this child could have their watchful eyes as a comfort instead. Clearly this was the correct solution.

It was not. The child had cried so hard and so much in the past few nights that they had cried their voice raw. That night was the quietest night that household has had in what felt like forever. But for the child in question it was forever until they had eventually passed out in fear when a toys set of lifeless plastic eyes had suddenly snapped towards the child. The creature had not seen that toy and tried to fix it before it was noticed.
