Oooh this is a good question! TYSM for asking! So, first, I don't think I'll include any of this in the stories (we'll see!) bc the reader is a civilian, which means that most of their school/personal life won't involve any known characters. I always get nervous adding OCs to these stories because most people are reading for the batboys obvs. Even if y/n is interested in someone who is a vigilante/villain and she doesn't know it, Bruce and the rest of the fam are on top of keeping them out of her lives. However! I do have some ideas about what her life looks like outside of the bat fam under the cut!

School Y/n, even though she's adopted, is still considered Bruce's daughter. She's the richest girl in Gotham, even among the kids at the academy. She's popular by nature and often gets a lot of invites to parties and events. She doesn't usually accept those invites because a lot of these events are unsupervised, and she's afraid of scandal. Y/n gets good grades. Whether or not she's a total academic superstar/genius is up to you, but she's an A-/B+ student at least. She's not out fighting crime so Bruce is really strict about her doing her homework and having things completed. Dick was a C student when he was in school, Jason and Tim are dropouts, and Damian doesn't do any homework. Even though they're all smart, you can't always pass by acing your tests. Especially if you're absent for some of those, too. Bruce is on her back about going to college and stuff, since he's grooming her to be in charge of the family's image if that makes sense? He just needs one kid to be normal and show up to things tbh She's for sure got extracurriculars. Not being a superhero means she has a lot of free time! The specifics are up to you! -if she's academically inclined, she's probably in debate or robotics -if she's socially inclined, she'll be in student government or prom court -if neither of those are appealing, she could do some volunteering, although you will pretty much always have to run it by Bruce and he'd make Damian go with you. Damian is a good guy but he is pretty abrasive and a little socially inept. He'll end up making some people uncomfortable in the process which is kind of antithetical to the gesture haha Relationships Y/n has had one or two relationships, but they were undoubtably somewhat juvenile. Going to diners/getting ice cream/walks in the park/carnival dates. They wouldn't have spent much time alone in private. I think Y/n has fooled around with these partners but not often/ has not had penetrative sex until Silas. She has a lot of anxiety over being a young woman in this setting, and has probably witnessed a lot of her more notable female classmates being shamed for sexual promiscuity in gossip rags or like online. I feel like y/n probably saw a few of those creepy 'countdown to her 18th birthday' things for herself when she was 14/15 and ever since then has been hyper aware that whoever she ends up dating/having sex with could have some incentive to publicize it. Which is socially fine if you're a dude, but can be damning for a young woman. This is why she decides to lose her virginity to Silas before the story starts. He's another wealthy kid from her school but moved there from another city two years ago. He rejects his family's wealth and thinks it makes him deep, which is why he genuinely didn't know who reader was when they met.

He doesn't care about money or popularity because he already technically has both, and up until your party you'd had no reason to believe that he'd tell anyone. Thanks for letting me info dump about my silly little series!

this guy.....i have given him the most amount of trauma At The Start. he's already gone (and is still going thru shit) and b/c he's already had it tough he's gonna end up being the wisest person by the end of the story most likely (in his own way)

fuckin this guy's a tech nerd and if i knew more abt computers n junk i would be more specific but thats rlly. all i can say. he makes funny programs, he can code, he makes robots, aaalll that shit!!

fun fact: angie is a relatively new character that ive created for two! he (along w/ness) were not in the original story, but.....kat had like....NO friends and w/all the shit she was gonna go thru she really needed them lol. it also didn't make sense w/her character ta have her have no friends?? at that point in time i was revamping kat's personality cuz i realized she was too much Like Me and I didn't wanna create a self insert lol 😅

ANYWAYS- angie's got the worst of life w/in the last 2ish years, dead dad, depression caused from dead dad, struggling family b/c of the sudden loss of income (at this point in the story his family is more stable, but that's the reason he originally started working at kat's parent's cafe), anger issues caused by depression from dead dad, and on toppa all that, he's in honors classes!! man's has got it tough!!

he's also the eldest sibling in his houshold n has got 5 siblings!! (here's a wip of them i never finished. this would've been his fam 2 yrs ago)

him n the sister he's smirking at are at eachother's throats a lot lol. she's sorta similar ta ness but a lot more blunt. they shoulder the burden of being the eldest, sort of a team but not really? angie takes the brunt of the burden. eldest siblings (me) understand.

he's got ta deal w/being held ta such a high standard n he's constantly under pressure ta succeed, ta do great ta make his family proud, n now that his dad is dead he feels like he owes it ta him ta do well by him.

beyond the sad stuff he had a major caffine addiction that his mother put a stop ta. he had a habit of procrastinating and then pulling coffee fueled all nighters, except now that he cant have coffee anymore he supplements it w/soda (his mother will NOT allow energy drinks he sneaks some anyways tho. ((his mother is not happy abt him drinking sodie)))

he's a meme king and irl shitposter and a very Big Boi (6ft!) he's got a new york accent as well!

fun fact numero dos: angie is one of the several characters who i am completely unsure of their orientation. i feel like he could be the queerest person on the planet and yet also be the straightest most cis-dude ever. idk ik he likes girls thats the most ive come up w/so far.

he loves his friends so much dude!! they've helped him thru so much and he's done so much dumb shit w/them (like The Bruisehouse, of which the trio of kat, angie, n ness is named after. they're still quite famous from what they did in elementary school). honestly he just wants ta relax. you can see that reflected in his clothing choices (yk besides being a sans kinnie n liking utdr) he's one of those kids in middle school who dresses in shorts n short sleeves no matter the weather n is like, "im not cold"

YESSS YOU GET IT!! Cyborg is such a teen titans character like why is he in justice league? He's much more interesting as a character imo in the teen titans like someone put him back with his fam

I honestly think there was a push to make Cyborg a more prominent character post new 52 because he's one of the most developed black characters in DC, but like once again Cyborg is his connection to his friends. Cyborg literally had an entire comic where after slowly losing his humanity over time, he missed his old friends so much he turned into a giant robot satellite and kidnapped his old friends and tried to give them all perfect lives in a simulation. And it was called the Technis Imperative. And it's one of the best comics ever.

The new 52 is just a bad idea in general, but like you had Wally West move to the justice league without losing any of his relationships to the Titans. You can't really take a characters friends away from them and move them to an entirely new environment and expect them to be the same character. Especially since the group dynamic of the Justice League is way different from the Titans. They are not really a close knit group or even a family, they're just a collection of individuals. Cyborg is not the tech guy, he's developed by his human relationships amongst a group of outcasts who accepted him when he was at his angriest and made him a person again. He just doesn't work if you take him away from all of that. It's funny b/c a lot of new cyborg content and adaptations don't really even act that much like Cyborg, like Cyborg is a pretty short tempered guy, he likes to make fun of people and razz people, he's extremely insecure which is responsible for a lot of his underlying issues. He's actually a pretty good disability representation because he needs his prosthetics to live but everyone treats him different because of it. Cyborg's grandparents did vaudeville!!!! There's just a million little character details he has besides being "the tech guy."

Clio (of Hesiod) Just shining some light on another of the Muses who hasn’t already been listed. Someone else hunting for Merlin’s artefacts? An amazing historian? Part of a weird secret order organisation? Whats not to love!

MAJOR rant below, so be prepared (and spoilers for Operation Survival vol. 24-26)

To the peeps somehow invested in the manhwa side of Cookie Run, there is no way I can express in words how there is so much potential packed in a bunch of goofy gingerbread men by adding in legit moral dilemmas into its story. Of course its outside its original source material and the comics are canon in their own universe, but I have thrived with the potential of Aloe (and Vera) in vol. 24-26. While the idea of Aloe being chosen to be a faceless dictator to the entirety of Blue Star at the ripe old age of 10(ish) is extremely questionable enough, it still fits her character perfectly when a.) She's smart enough to know how corrupted the system is and works to change it a little bit at a time, and b.) She can barely handle a spoonful of responsibility when faced with the consequences of her actions. It may seem like a stretch, since in OB it takes a robot uprising and Cyborg screaming in her face about how much pain they've been in does she realize "Oh, this is my fault…I need to fix this"; and she does the fixing by lots of hugs and kisses for the robot fam, working herself to the bone to get a laureate, and actually listening to what Cyborg wants and needs in their upgrades.

In OS though…Oh boy, it's a ride. To make this easier for everyone, here's a step-by-step process of all the fuck-ups she's done: -Made a clone (Vera) to escape her responsibilities of being chancellor. -Not visiting said-clone regularly after months/years of studying to be a robotics engineer. -Keeping her identity as said-chancellor a secret in order to avoid any negative clout (for many reasons). -Kickstarts a industrial revolution with cybernetic prosthetics and full-body implants (foreshadowing). -Saves a complete stranger from a traumatic accident (pre-Cyborg) by putting them on life support in the palace, even if they were barely conscious or alive. -Keeps said-stranger in agony as she tries to find family/friends/associates/etc, making Vera bare the brunt of their "treatment" since he studied to be a doctor on the side (or spite). -Finally agrees to turn them into Cyborg to save their life, at the cost of losing their memories and/or becoming violent if ever put back in a public setting, agrees to hide them in a undisclosed location in stasis until the technology for memory implants is perfected. -Works together with Vera in creating a world-sized cryogenic freezer to combat rising pollution levels. -Vera finally snaps after years of emotional/physical neglect and banishes Aloe from the palace, blackmailing her with her identity as chancellor in order to expedite the creation of the freezer. -Vera takes the reins in mass-capture of every Cookie in Blue Star to the Freezer, replacing with cybernetic copies and ostracizing those with partial implants into the underdeveloped slums. -Aloe goes on the run with Ion Cookie Robot (hotwiring its fucking core in order for it to feel emotions) and evade capture from the space-police. -Tried to convince the lovable egg-bot that Vera, the "real" chancellor, is an emotionless unfeeling robot, and the only way to save Blue Star was to locate Cyborg and tag-team kill him. -Traumatizes Ion after shocking her into unconsciousness in order to gather intel on Cyborg's location implanted in her heart (don't ask), promptly stopping said-heart as she gets shipped off to the Freezer. -Wakes up in the Freezer for who knows how long to Ion and Cyborg being tortured and Vera threatening to shoot the OS Brave Gang after they destroyed the Freezer's main controls. -Discovers that Vera only saved her life after concocting a DNA-harvesting scheme to make Blue Star a world run by both clones and robots, all so he didn't feel alone after his entire life was marked by isolation and indifference from his original self (ie. Aloe).

And only after all of that does she finally realize "Oh…This is my fault. I need to fix this"; with hugs and pats for Ion, breaking the news to Cy that they would've died a loner if she didn't save their life, and beating the absolute crud out of Vera and locking him in the freezer indefinitely. All in all, fun times all around :)

Now the reason why all this happened was because of Aloe's strive to become a scientist, actually figuring out how to solve the root of the problem as an equal and not a spectator. It was simple at first, making prosthetic so Cookies can move properly again or replace a missing appendage, then it moved up to full-body transplants for critically-wounded individuals. While there isn't a lot of information on what Vera's role was in all this, but it's safe to assume that he managed Blue Star in a more legislative fashion, focusing more on dictating laws and regulations without thinking much about public opinion. And why is this important? Consider this: If Aloe never abandoned her position as chancellor, she would've been just as cold and heartless as Vera, maybe even more. And even when she fixed her moral compass, she built her entire career on lies and emotional manipulation.

She and Vera were the goddamn chancellor(s), no matter how horrible it is to give a kid that amount of power, they always had everything handed to them no matter what, and with their only source of company being robots and machines, they would've lived with the assumption of Cookies and robots were one and the same; cold, unfeeling, and following every command without a fault. Aloe figured out the truth later in her life, and if she was a lot smarter as a kid, she would've gotten a heavy dose of reality when she finally figures out how the modern world works; changing her personality and moral compass in order to help those in need. On that note, if Aloe didn't take the chance to explore her own passions, they both would've been too sheltered to realize how corrupted Blue Star was with its overall system nor would it have gone through the industrial revolution that caused it to become a polluted and robot-infested dystopia in the first place.

As for the robotic implants/transplants, Aloe eventually discovered the long-term consequences of the augments; stripping away a Cookie's emotions, feelings, pain, or even memories the more drastic the upgrades had become. Those with full-body augments or cybernetic copies of themselves become confused about which Cookies are real or made of metal, which in their point-of-view saw the OS Brave Gang as "deviants" from the status quo or something malfunctioning from their programming. Even the security Ions in the main city asked about serial number, coding, program, etc. without a second thought because of how technologically advanced Blue Star had become…Normal Cookies were becoming the cold, unfeeling, obedient machines Vera believed them to be, and the ones Aloe regretted and dreaded.

But now it makes more sense about her act of sympathy for Cyborg; out of every tragedy plaguing their life, living without a home to go to or a family to remember them by, she wanted to give them a second chance at life; even if they couldn't remember the very Cookie that saved their life and left them all alone until she can completely restore their memories. Everything Aloe did was for safety, improvements, and happiness for everyone and anyone she met. But just from the long list of grievances before, it's not like she has a sound mind in all of it; everything she did still caused Cookies harm either directly or indirectly, still lied to everyone she met about her true identity, still abandoned Vera to fend for himself and she took so many drastic and life-threatening turns no sane person would do without a second thought in order to prove herself right. And even after breaking the news to Vera that he was a clone to whole time, she doesn't fully recognize how much pain and misery she put him through being her shadow and not giving him a chance to live life to the fullest. She never truly apologized, not in front of everyone really, all that she did was paint herself as the victim despite causing all those problems in the first place. Even if she learned how to empathize and love others, Aloe still used and manipulated those who cared about her for her own gains.

And if you thought that was horrible, it's not like Vera's the odd one out. He was never given the chance to experience what it was like to have a normal life, keeping himself trapped in the rules of the autocracy and was more than willing to make Aloe's life hell in order for her to realize how truly powerless she is to change anything. Both of them grew up with the idea that everything should be given to them; while Vera believed it was absolute just for him existing as chancellor, Aloe simply internalized the need to stay on top with a couple extra steps: Become a prodigy in robotic engineering, gain recognition and praise from everyone in Blue Star, and concoct a scheme of her two prized inventions (Ion and Cyborg) to get back her rightful place on the throne without lifting a single finger. (And says the one who told Ion that Vera was a cold unfeeling robot in order to justify indirect fratricide…Hypocrisy much?)

Despite all those flaws, by adding the real and horrifying consequences of her past behavior, Aloe has become the loving and caring scientist she was in Operation Survival as well as fleshing out all the fascism vibes in Ovenbreak and putting her rap sheet of mistakes on the down-low. Even if she couldn't iron out all of her bad habits, there would've been another heartless dictator under Cookie Run's belt if she didn't learn about real life; or on the other side of the coin, Operation Survival would've been so close to confirming Aloe's villain arc if she was more than 5% unhinged. Seasons. 

Seasons don’t really exist in the Sorcerer World. One-third of the year is relatively warm, one-third is kinda cold. Weather isn’t really a thing.

Ton runs cold, hence the jacket year-round.

When the Crosseye fam starts living in the Hole post canon, they finally encounter seasons. Spring’s too rainy and its gonna take years for the Hole rain to stop carrying its curse. After the novelty of snow wears off Ton isn’t a fan of winter, it's cold as shit. Is a fan of summer, nice and toasty. Actually takes the jacket off and gets lots of nice comments on how fucking jacked he is. Fall is also fun with the nice warm drinks and the concentration of feast days, especially now that bitches actually have money for food and aren’t starving.

Hobbies.

Jara Hamee tinkers. Takes machines and devices apart and puts them back together. Splices them into new things. He also collects and exchanges stories with all the hork-bajir he meets and gets the time to converse with. This is an important thing for the conservation of oral history for horks. But telling stories to kids is the absolute best b/c they don’t know anything and are always super excited about hearing a new story.

Ket Halpak enjoys martial arts and dance. Hork dance, taxxon dance, human dance. It’s all very expression of self and honing the body and mind and just plain fun. Also loves combining the stuff she’s learned like why not combine ballet and kickboxing? Or breakdancing with kung fu? Also loves watching martial arts movies. Especially Jackie Chan movies.

Spider Noir Colorful Headcanons

So I mentioned in another post this headcanon I have that Noir CAN become colorful and it's in my head, so here are some random plot bunnies and ideas of how that can happen. Cause reasons.

1) There are a couple of different reasons and ways for Noir to gain color. It's very rare for it to be a full body thing though, so he kinda just gets splotches of color that "bleed" into the black and white. Like he got covered in paintballs or something.

2) Once the Fam finds out though, they spend weeks experimenting with it (and smothering Noir in affection) just to see what happens. They discovered:

A) They can "give" Noir color, but it takes time and focus. It's also temporary, versus something more permanent or long lasting like magic. Touching him seems to be the easiest way to "transfer" colors.

B) Because it's "their" colors being used, the actual color palette and aesthetic changes somewhat depending on who is touching Noir. Probably a weird byproduct of dimensional science stuff.

C) If the colors don't come from another person (eg he turns colorful via a magical spell cause reasons), he turns colorful but the colors are all muted and shadowy due to his own dimensions aesthetic.

3) Noir actually enjoys experimenting with the colors, and can spend hours with the Fam playfully poking and hugging him just to see what happens.

4) To be clear, the only thing that changes are the colors. Not the actual cut or design of his clothing or suit. The contrast is part of why it can sometimes look so ridiculous.

5) Since the fam has to practice giving Noir colors, they color combination doesn't always turn out the same every time.

A) Ham's is obviously the brightest one. The black of his spider suit and hat comes out lighter, sometimes gray, or red, sometimes lined with the classic spider man blue. His goggles sometimes come out brown, like old school pilot aviators. They are exceedingly bright and light, with blocks of color versus something blended, like old 1960s or 1970s cartoon clothing, with very little shadowy details. The lines of his suit become bolder and darker, less like stitches and more like ink lines.

B) Gwen's colors, much like her dimension, have an almost cyber punk neon aspect to them. Blues and teals cutting through neon Pinks and purples, with the lines slightly blurred like watery mist making paint bleed together. The coat and suit usually stay black, but sometimes shifts between highlights of a deep neon purple or teal, and Gwen's own white suit. Sometimes the colors streak together in a gradiant. Most commonly, the seams of his clothes turn into pops of brighter colors. The finish of his belt changes, and shines metalic sometimes. It reminds Noir of the lights in old bar signs, staticky bright and electric but blurred at the end with smoky shadows, never a true dark but rather tinted something softer, like sunlight shining through the surface of water.

C) With Peni his clothes are still predominantly black, or dark, since Peni herself wears the color. But it's not a pure deep black, instead turning a blue-black or smoky charcoal gray, something with a hint of brightness and warmth to it. Even the seams of his suit can turn white or red, as if to mimic the stripes of Peni's clothes. There are splashes of color in his boots, belt and hat as they occasionally shift to the bright red and blue of Sp//der or the pinky-purple or red-purple of Peni's shoelaces or skyscrapers. What strikes Noir the most is that light seems to stick to certain parts of the fabric, dappled across the suit and gleaming like the metal of the robot suit or Peni's hair. On Noir it almost looks like the shine of new leather, but it brings light to the layout of the fabric, sofens it and rounds it out in a way he has only ever seen on Peni.

D) Almost everything in Peter B's universe has that classic look to it, the suit and city lights are the boldest color, but scenes with MJ have that pastel background and warm yellow-peach overtone to them. It's why the green toned jacket looks so jarring the first time you see it. When the suit does gain color, it tends to look the most like Peter B's classic Spider-Man suit, red and blue although it lacks the bolder black webbing design in anywhere else but the mask. The coat and mask don't turn the green of Peter B's jacket, but instead come out a lighter brown-green. When the others saw it, they were all starkly aware of how similar the two spiders looked.

E) Miles probably creates the suit most accurate to Noir's own, since his own suit has such a large amount of black on it. Everything about Mile's colors look sleeker, Noir realizes, everything from the bright red lines of his mask, to the frames and glasses of his goggles, even the typically bulky parts of his boots and belt. Given Miles penchant for scarlet hoody's, it's the only time Noir's jacket has ever turned such a bright red. The light doesn't stick like with Peni's colors, instead it shifts in narrow patches, gleaming and reflecting off the silvery-grey buttons and seams, or the milky-white lenses of his goggles. The shadows of Miles colors don't move like Noir's own, even in the dark the details seem warm and visible, and the scarlet seems to cling to patches of his suit, like the thick lines of his vest or the rim of his hat. Noir can't fathom how something can be both black, and so colorful.
