i know someone previously sent an ask warning about this person, but seeing as their posts are getting more and more popular within the fandom i wanted to send another reminder. i know this is a blog for silly discourse and takes, but i wanted to send this where a big portion of the fandom would see it. (for mod courtney: if you feel like this is too heavy to be posted or you just dont wanna post it for any reason that's fine! i understand why you wouldn't want something like this on the blog.)

TRIGGER WARNING FOR suggestive content pedophila and racism @/ scepterno (also known as sugarandmemories or metrix-86) is a proshipper, shotacon, and has a habit of whitewashing and drawing racist art. they were previously in the total drama fandom i believe around 7 years ago? but they've made a comeback and have made a lot of ale/noah art and a fic which has gotten them some popularity but a lot of people don't know about the really shitty things they've done.

they tend to whitewash noah a LOT in their art. you can try to excuse it by saying they just put a filter over their art or something but the fact its been multiple times is worrying. their older art of cameron is EXTREMELY racist, it was a few years ago but ANYONE should know better than to draw a black person like that.

they also sexualize children a lot in their art. they have pages of fanart for a rwby character who is 14 years old, drawing him in suggestive clothing and posing, and shipping him with an adult. i don't know anything about rwby so i can't say much besides that, but it's very disgusting knowing they're a grown adult and draw children like that. they have drawn fanart of other fandoms, shipping a child character from it with adults as well. their weird obsession with sexualizing CHILDREN is disgusting.

I’ve been thinking about this all day since the news dropped and… Yea ok it’s shitty and things look bleak as hell for RWBY rn but this still doesn’t feel like the end to me. Not yet.

I really hope more than anything at this current moment that folks don’t get so discouraged that you quit making fanart and fanfic. I’ve never seen a show with a dedicated group of people that are so loud in their hate and tbh I’ve had enough of folks who are actual fans giving them the time of day.

Put energy into supporting the people within the fndm instead and keep posting about RWBY. Be louder than the people who spread negativity. Block people celebrating this. Delete scummy anon hate you get. It is quite literally not in the spirit of the show to spread negativity like that.

Rant ahead in part due to a recent clash and comparatively reminder of how shit is supposed to be via a YT of all places interaction:

Let me put this out there: don't want your posts getting torn into? Don't put them in main tags. Nobody is obligated to tip-toe around your thin-skinned snowflake ass that thinks you're somehow immune to having your shit torn into or roll over in accepting your bullshit that can be proven wrong. Don't want it to happen? Don't put the main tag or use the tag that is specifically for it "rw/de". Otherwise stfu about rightfully getting torn into when spouting shit. So far RWBY is the only damn place where this shit has to be stated, cause every other media I interact with already knows this.

Oh and for those that will inevitably hurl around "toxic", what's toxic is bringing bullshit into the main tag for everyone else that's just wanting to keep up with fanart or theories or whatever. What isn't toxic is presenting fact and canon that run against x,y, or z that can range from in-show things to out-of-show things. That's the entire idea of social media like tumblr in the first damn place. Its actually amazing how someone on YT did an FF7R vid with their theory on what's going on in that story, I posted with what I agreed with and disagreed with, and they vibed with it in running with what we both agreed on. No accusations of my being wrong on the basis that they can't be disagreed with cause of being thin-skin snowflake; no attempt of calling anyone toxic; no denial of facts/canon; no complaining about "essays"; and no acting like someone was outside their door with a flaming bat. That's how it should go, but again RWBY's HTDM and shitdom are filled with thin-skinned "its impossible for me to be wrong" know-nothing ignorant snowflake shitbags.

You know, before Muskrat took over Twitter, the algorithm over there would sometimes fuck up and give me stuff that wasn't what I wanted on my timeline, but usually you could figure out why it thought I would want it, like if I retweeted someone dunking on some asshole and Twitter thought I was interested in what the asshole had to say so it showed me more of their tweets. It was annoying, but I could at least understand why it was being stupid, and more importantly clicking "not interested" on one or two tweets was enough to get it to stop.

Now, however, I'm pretty sure Muskrat had his team fuck up the algorithm even more, because not only are the connections between what I'm interacting with and what I'm seeing recommended on my timeline becoming more and more tenuous, I can't seem to do anything to make it stop.

I retweet some Witch From Mercury fanart? Suddenly I'm inundated with RWBY and Sonic fanart.

I follow some of my artist friends who occasionally post NSFW stuff? Porn, everywhere!

And just generally existing on Twitter has somehow gotten tweets from right wing fuckers like libsoftiktok, Tucker Carlson, "endwokeness", and other shit like that. The only reason I don't get Muskrat himself at this point is probably because I muted him a while back.

And I can't get rid of any of it! It's all under "based on your likes" which a) I don't often directly interact with tweets by liking them, so how and b) it includes stuff that I actually do want to be recommended. So I don't want to say "don't give me this category" but at the same time clicking each post and saying "not interested" or even muting or blocking them does absolutely nothing to stop similar shit from showing up on my timeline! It's infuriating!

Hanging around for RWBY V9 was pretty fun, but I'm gonna be drifting away from the fandom after this week. I'll still be reblogging fanart and reacting to the full OST when it's out, but this week I'm limited to the single dropping on my birthday, the Tuesday feature and the crossover movie (do not spoil that shit to me I'm not from the US and I'm avoiding the leaks).

I'll be posting Genshin, PGR, WuWa and HI3 (despite being on hiatus from the last game) like the usual, along with HSR dropping on Wednesday + going into the Drakenier rabbit hole, so if you happen to be interested in any of these you'll still be fed if you followed me for RWBY content. Talking about RWBY (Along with some possible ranting)

So, I'm going to talk about a show that came on since middle school and had a interest in: RWBY.

If any of my followers don't know what RWBY is then I'll give a brief session. It is a 3D-animated series created (the late) Monty Oum and Rooster Teeth where it features the four heroines: Ruby, Weiss, Blake, and Yang. Now that Volume 9 had ended since early 2023, I should give my honest thoughts about it, to which, may be long.

Now, some of you may ask why I'm posting this privately? (As of Nov 18th)

The answer is that I don't want certain people in the FDMN, that being overly protective types, or people who really REALLY love the show to be overreacting and thinking I'm a part of this RWDE stuff or just someone who loves to target RWBY just because. Better safe than sorry on this one.

I'll eventually make this public soon after. (Public by December 10th)

By the first three seasons, I personally have a soft spot for them since it was the introduction to the gang. I also think that nothing was planned and some things were added as it went along since the maidens and relics. The designs for the group going forward are a bit okay but I still prefer the older versions.

By four to eight, it was like the calm before the storm type deal with volume four kicking off from the volume three finale. Though it had some interesting aspects, like Kali who's best mom, people started to see some cracks in the pavement and this continued with the following volumes. I would like to go in about Volume 8 and how that turned out but that's a "rabbit hole" to go through.

I say Volume 9 is a mix, I believe the first half is good honestly since this is a new world which provides some breathing room from the disaster of a plan. This is also the volume that finally puts Bumblebee to rest, for better or worse. I like Ruby's struggle within herself after the plan didn't go as planned since it caused Atlas to fall, Cinder to obtain a relic, and Salem gaining the upper hand.

The other half is also mixed due to a significant aspect of this volume: the tree. The tree has been mentioned by the Paper Pleasers as a good thing while Jaune views it as the opposite, hence why he halts any of their plans until the successful flood. Now, with a certain theme, feels like a ick to some due to Ruby's decision to sip the tree tea. Also, this may be just me, the notion Ruby takes of "You're perfect, just the way you are" feels unrewarding to me personally.

I mean, Ruby has been dealing with the duty of being a leader from volume one, has the weight of her recent actions on her shoulders, and you mean to tell me that "she's perfect" instead of learning this mistakes and becoming a better self? Nah, girl need some growth! She did not suffer just so the "you don't have to change" shit just pulls her right back up! The tree could've been a symbol of growth and rebirth but was mixed in Ctrl-Alt-Del and then making it okay after the fact Ruby went through a depressive state! Okay, I gotta stop right here before I go any further.

After the little sendoff, the group is back in Vacuo (with no new outfits whatsoever due to the environment being the opposite of Atlas's) where everything seems to be united for how much time has passed. This is where we stop as of now with people wishing Volume 10 getting greenlit although chances may be low but who knows. I feel conflicted about RWBY due to how I still love the fanart and fan creations people put out for this series but don't like what RT be doing with its story at certain point(s).
