Okay so I am actually REALLY happy that RWBY’s knowledge from Jinn came into play here. Like for anyone else (including even Jaune) those two statues would just be ‘oh hey, two dragons. that’s weird’
But for Team RWBY it’s “Wait a minute, those are the fucking GODS. What the FUCK are they doing here?!”

I mean we’re screaming but we did get confirmation that the Ever After was sort of a prototype Remnant huh?
“I need to know why my makers left me here. Only to leave and make all of you.” That’s what the Cat was going to say. It’s what they wanted to know.
The Brother Gods created a world so sectioned and divided and rigid that even they deemed it a failure. And then abandoned it to it’s dysfunction while they created Remnant.

Ozpin: So Darkness brings me back, and then Light kills me again, and then Darkness brings me back again, and then they agree, and Darkness kills me, only for Light to turn around and be like "I'm bringing you back after all but in a reincarnation way so it doesn't count.". I'm starting to wonder if Darkness ever showed up to the afterlife looking for me after I was gone.
Jabberwalker: Annoying. Painful. Sympathize.

So... who did have "Summer's goodbye to Yang and Ruby", "Rosebird crumbs" and "more God Brothers and lore" in their bingo charts?
Because I sure as Hell didn't.

Muffled screaming. Everyone has it backwards
Oz is Darkness and Salem is Light.
Something something destruction is just the cycle of life. It's to clear out the old and replace it with the new. It's to learn and live and die and be reborn. Oz is Darkness, because he lives and he dies and he is reborn. He tears down the old (abolishing monarchies and militaries) and replaces it with what's new (the Academies, a council). He is demonized every time he does his best to help. He believes humanity shouldn't be punished for his mistakes. He offers choice and even knowledge (but not always; but choice is one thing he values above all else). He offers magic as a gift and a tool to use. He learns and grows from his mistakes. He's willing to concede and admit when he's done wrong.
Salem is Light. She is unchanging, undying. She does not age. She believes humanity is lost without Gods, that humanity, while strong, is a fraction of what it once was. She brings life (creating and modifying Grimm). She heals those who need it (Cinders arm, telling Watts to give Tyrian a new tail). But she's stubborn. She's cruel and terrifies people. She manipulates when deemed necessary. She wants to create a new world, one where she's the sole goddess. She hates Oz's gifts to humanity (possibly aura/semblances if my theory is right). She encroaches on Oz's territory and terrorizes those who side with him, and even those who aren't affiliated with him. She's petty and angry and a hypocrite.
I just. Sits down. They're Darkness and Light. They do hold qualities of the other (Salem is Grimm and destructive, Oz is Light and creates things), but it's like how Darkness can create life and Light can destroy.

For those of you who have watched RWBY what are your opinions regarding the brothers and their actions? I am asking for science.

So, I’ve seen quite a few comments on the RWBY Beyond episode about Somewhat speculating who came through the portal at the end, and quite a few people seem to be speculating it’s either Ruby or Neo. Now, I get why people think that may be the case for both of them - Ruby was their friend and Neo stayed in the Ever After to be reborn, but personally I think both have bigger reasons why it wouldn’t be them (no shame to those who think this, I just wanted to put my two cents in). For Ruby I just think her arc in the Ever After was just wrapped up too well (in the case of her being there and why, that is) for it to really make sense for her to go back. Same reasonings for really any members of team RWBY to go back or even Jaune, despite his personal issues with how what happened to him there is affecting his life now on Remnant. And for Neo, it’s solely for the fact that it wouldn’t make sense for her to come back specifically via the portals created by the staff. I’m just pretty sure that's not how the Ever After’s process of rebirth really works/looks like. Now, for who I personally think IS coming back through the portal, it’s really very simple. It’s the gods.
No one else on Remnant has been to the Ever After, and I don’t really see the purpose in anyone who has returning unless it’s like Jaune having some mental break down, but that would require a hell of a lot for him to have that breakdown and then go through the process of getting back there. Now is this theory really underbaked? Yes, yes it is. Do I fully believe it’ll be the answer? Not necessarily. But of the characters we know of and know about it just makes the most sense to me. They're from there after all, and I personally don’t see the ending of RWBY involving them bringing the gods back and just living in harmony with them again. No, what I could see happening is the gods coming back, getting rid of Salem in some way or another, Ozpin getting to move on (hopefully before he’s fully merged with Oscar my poor boy), and for whatever reason, the gods don’t end up staying on Remnant after all. With this in mind, them returning to the Ever After does seem quite plausible to me.

Oh my god...
The Ever After, we've been thinking it's another world the gods made prior or after Remnant
But what if it's a prison?
For a creation who was too powerful to be allowed loose

I feel like grimm weren't REALLY Dark's way of making something to destroy his brother's creations, he was just trying to make a new pet to replace the old one his big brother wouldn’t let him keep.

“These brothers were the tree’s earliest blossoms. And the first to inhabit the Ever After.”
So uh... turns out we had things a bit reversed when thinking the gods created the Ever After...

I really love how they framed the birth of the Ever After and the Gods. It starts as an act of creation, as any true beginning must — presumably, that’s why Ambrosius is the one who’s power and creations are tied toEver After most closely, why he could access this world at all.
But even if their lives were an act of creation, the first POWER the Brothers learned was destruction. (So, you know, the God of Light is full of shit for calling himself the older one.) They learned to destroy first, and they got sick of being the ones to help and heal in due time.
It was their job to be curious, to find what needed fixing or could benefit from improvement. But what they created was exactly the kind of world a child would create — strictly regimented, everyone with a part to play whether they want to or not. They left out the aspects of eventual humanity that actually let them grow on their own - knowledge and choice. Because it’s clear the Cat never really got either.
And so, in the end, the entire world of Remnant exists because they decided to…pass the buck. To make it someone else’s problem, to create the Cat to be Curious and make their own world instead.
All that to say…just as I’m sure we’ll see the Brothers someday, I think the Cat will put in a reappearance. And that perhaps there will also be a look at what the Brothers created after they left Remnant.

I like how we all thought the Ever After was created by the Gods, but it turns out the Tree is their God. And then Light did a stupid and started messing things up.
Don't be unfair, it's clearly shown that they both created both the Curious Cat and the Jabberwalker. The difference was that Light was like "oh shit we made a bad thing let's nuke it" and Dark was like "no we should keep it it didn't do anything wrong". And somehow, Dark got labeled as the God of Destruction.

Does Salem just not think the brother gods will simply wipe out humanity again and keep her immortal? They aren’t exactly known for accountability; so, whose to even say they’ll keep their own word on things.
