needed to come by real quick and just make a note saying how much I appreciate everyone who's stuck by for TuNe The TRanSMiSsion, despite my struggles with updates and all that. Or anyone who's enjoying ongoing fics like Safety in Numbers or Cycle of Hurt, or Pale Case. We really appreciate readers and sharing our work with the fandom. Everyone learns a lot, and I do like to push the limits of what i can manage or even stumble up - I enjoy writing, creating, and interpreting ideas.

It's been nearly 3 years since I started this series and I'm happy to still have passion for it, and still wanna keep going with it. It might not be what I anticipated when I started, but there have been a lot of stories where I just enjoyed the journey above the ending. And I think there are plenty of stories for the Thin Man and his feral child to enjoy.

Birds of a feather

With a panoramic shot or a wide-angle lense, I could have captured the whole gang out for a trot.

There were a half-dozen more outside the frame, on each side. I counted more than 40 in this flock that assembled on my lawn Sunday morning.

This time of year the local wild turkeys (and turkeys everywhere, I suppose) form enormous groups, seeking safety in numbers. Evidently predators prefer smaller, more vulnerable targets.

A turkey nugget: Benjamin Franklin admired the wild turkeys to the extent that he wanted to declare it the national bird. His proposal didn't fly and the bald eagle prevailed.

I'm glad ole Ben lost that argument.

Six sentence Sunday

Sometimes Zuko wondered if there had ever been a time he wasn’t afraid. If he had ever felt safe, here. Most days he remembered that he had, when he was little, felt safe with his mother. Some days he wondered if he had been. Safety hadn’t been something he’d known to trust in since before his sister learned to walk. And he’d certainly learned better since. The fear here was almost tangible, an aura coming from so many people, he wasn’t the only one who couldn’t trust the safety offered here.

Zebras and Ostriches

Zebra have poor eyesight and ostriches have poor hearing. These two have formed a symbiotic relationship through communicating and warning each other of danger.

Zebra's and ostriches look out for each other. Zebra's have a great sense of smell and hearing but they have poor eye sight. While the ostrich has great vision but not great hearing or smell. They often travel together and warn each other when danger is coming. Each animal benefiting from the strength of the other animal. This relationship keeps them safe from lions on the hunt.
