Young Justice was such a wild show. Like. It's based off a 90's comic by the same name. It contains exactly 1 (one) character from the source media, who they immediately change beyond recognition. It used Dick Grayson's Robin and Wally West's Kid Flash, but made Roy Harper the old jaded one. Instead of Wondergirl, they gave Martian Manhunter a niece. They invented a brand new Aqualad. A random 90's villain gets shunted into Arrowette's role, arguably gets the most compelling emotional story of the entire show, and turns out to be related to half the villains they ever meet.
They're a secret black ops team made entirely of teenagers. At one point several of them die onscreen. The martian almost murders several people. There's kind of a pseudo incest plot. There is an episode that takes place almost entirely through mandated therapy sessions.
The show does actually bring in a second character from the original Young Justice, in an episode where Artemis almost dies only to be saved by Secret, the ghost of the villain's sister (who was a member of the original comics team). In the same episode, Superboy and Miss Martian trick a classmate into thinking there's an alien invasion using a Loony Tunes character. Neither of these events are ever mentioned again.
The timeline of the show means that Dick Grayson became Nightwing at 15. They accidentally create Beast Boy because Miss Martian has been impersonating his mom. Aqualad ends up as the leader of the Justice League.
Five years go by between seasons, resulting in a completely different show. I could make the argument that Young Justice was Weisman's OC fanfiction of the comic series. Everything after season 2 is unwatchable. This is the show that got me into fandom. I adore it.

ok we need an e/se asian reader in the taskforce. the first time they get offered tea from price, thinking that it’s hong cha . ends up spitting it out after they take the first sip and realise it’s fucking earl grey . who teaches them torture methods that were simply just what their parents did to them as a kid . who is generally pretty nice, but can scare the living shit out of new recruits if they have to (once again, asian parent skill) . who leans over to price and discreetly asks ‘is that just a white people thing ?” whenever ghost and soap are on their shit .
just them being silly would be funny as fuck should out to all writers who do asian!readers we love you out here
(some of tags r important, please check them)

this is a little au me and @lego-sand came up with (that we are co-owning) called the honeymoon au!
its a fun au and while there is some plot, most of the premise is pretty simple: dying was such a shock to the system for macaque that it actually cleared his head, and he realised that both he and swk were to blame for the fight. he started visiting swk on ffm and they grew closer again over a few hundred years until macaque moved back in to live there. pretty much this entire au is them being sweet and fun and arguing over whether or not death voids a marriage
later on, swk still chooses mk as a successor, only this time he has to listen to his two mentors be sickeningly domestic
feel free to send asks about it to either me or kai sand, since we'll share them in dms!

A lot of analysis of Ray and Sand moments leaves out the huge, foundational, overarching point that informs their story: Ray is rich and powerful, and Sand is poor and powerless. I’ve been noticing this for weeks and I find it so bizarre. And it’s not like the show has been subtle about it—Ray literally calls Sand a whore and treats him like an object that is his to pick up and put down as he pleases.
Why do people ignore it? Is it because the power dynamics of it all makes folks feel icky? Because it makes it hard to keep seeing their interactions as romantic? Because fam, that is exactly the point.

Currently, I’d say my biggest criticism of the Fallout show (that I hope theyll address in season 2) is the lack of focus on actual wastelanders.
You only really see things from the perspective of sheltered youngsters or the Uber-cynic ghoul. All the actual wastelanders they encounter are basically crazed killers or canon fodder.
I get that’s the point, at least for now: to show that the wasteland is harsh and our cast aren’t quite equipped to handle it. But if they want to tackle these big themes, if they want to actually explain why this world is worth saving from the vault tec baddies, or why the ghoul cowboy should value human life, I think they need to do a little more work next season on the people actually living in this world.
Show a settlement that’s gotten together. Or a family that’s nice to the cast. Or just have someone from the wastes who just waves to them and shoots the breeze. The current presentation of wastelanders makes them seem so cartoonish and inhuman, when there can be so much more nuance to how people behave in that kind of world. I just really hope they try to actually dig into that kind of humanity to wasteland life in season 2
