Hi BPP,
I've been wondering about this for a while now. Why is twt army so hell bent on not sharing airport photos? I understand not sharing saesang pics and videos. But what's wrong with pics taken by media outlets? Doesn't Hybe literally inform them and pay them?
Celebs and idols do so much brand promotion on airports. The clothes, the accessories. I feel that it's meant to be seen. Sometimes reporters ask questions and celebs tell what are they travelling for, hence creating hype for their future work. Please correct if I'm wrong.
I do feel that given how bad the airport situation gets with fans and stalkers, shouldn't Korean airport authority make it illegal to film/photograph people unless they are a registered media body? Unless.....it is actually a publicity thing. The bigger the crowd and chaos, the bigger the celeb impact- people talk about it, compare crowd size for different celebs and so on. (Sadly, at the expense of the idol's safety)
And celebs and idols do go for private trips, using private entrance/exits. Labels can pay media to release photos later. I feel it's intentional if media is present at the airport.
I'm against stalkers and feel they should be de-platformed, but I don't see the problem with sharing photos by media outlets.

"But what's wrong with pics taken by media outlets? Doesn't Hybe literally inform them and pay them?"
Not always. A lot of flight information is gotten from airlines and airports. I'm making this point because it seems there's an impression here that someone within the company is always the person behind breaches like this. And while company leaks do happen, oftentimes travel leaks originate with airlines/train lines etc.
Recall for example how a KORAIL employee was discovered to have illegally accessed and leaked Namjoon's travel details for 3 years. That worker was recently reinstated in her job and rewarded with backpay, for breaking the law and violating Namjoon's privacy. There's more incentive for employees at these other places to sell this information, than there is for HYBE employees who are liable under several NDAs, so it's often airline employees selling travel details that typically makes its way to tabloid/local media newsmen. Saying this just as an FYI.

You're right. Idols go to the airport expecting to see a crowd, or at the very least, some media guys. Unless the group is extremely nugu there'll be a crowd waiting. And the idols/companies keep this in mind when styling for their departures/arrivals. It's a real part of idol culture. But so is mobbing. And that doesn't mean it should continue just because it's part of the culture.
That's why ARMYs are so against using/spreading pics/clips from sasaengs and fans at airports. Using those pics can be seen as validating and rewarding the stalker for creating a potentially unsafe environment for BTS. And this is besides the fact that some people who go to such lengths to see and try to touch BTS at airports, are mentally unstable. Putting it bluntly.
There's also more fans recently since k-pop has gotten bigger globally. Meaning there's also more people at airports, in more places inside and outside Korea, than ever before. And all that does is create more risk. Crowd crush accidents are painful and traumatic for everyone involved. All it takes is one idiot in a crowded place for it to start too. And the way things are going, if there aren't legal consequences and safeguards around airport fan send-offs at least in Korea put in place, it's only a matter of time before there's a horrible accident.
You're also right in thinking it makes no sense to demonize official media outlets given the idols do make an effort and expect to be photographed. It would be best for everyone if having media outlets present was just standardized somehow, but that also would do less to solve this issue than implementing legal consequences for showing up at the airport to send-off an idol.
Personally, I have little problem using or sharing airport pics. Because most of the time, I don't actually share anything. I don't seek their pics out but when I inevitably see them if I like any, I save them. And if I use them (like, say, on this blog) then it's probably because I don't care. It's possible I'm a hypocrite or I've rationalized it to myself by saying it's not like the person who took the pic is getting a dollar from me anyway. Or something along those lines.
ARMYs go overboard with everything. Including policing airport pics. I don't mind it because they're right and anything that discourages crowds of people from going to the airport gets a pass from me, and I'm honestly glad ARMY is one of the least tolerant fandoms, even though I also don't mind the pictures when I come across them.

To that prove me right now, Anon.
Hey, it's not Ramen that gets cooked and served within 2mins span.
You have to build connections and trust, which will lead to info ain't no one gonna give you tea just like that. These admins have been here for years and years ain't who have built proper connections and have authentic info. So before asking to serve tea on this table, first show us what you bring to this TABLE. till then, be thankful and enjoy the stuff you are getting for free 👽
Yes. And also! These people who give you info arent online! You have to have lived with them or at least met them few times through concerts or fan-café events or during Fansigns etc... they should trust you're a real EXOL they should see you in real life supporting Exo unconditionally no matter what their sexual orientations or real personalities are!
And when they give you proof they show it to you on their phone ! They never share you photos that you can screenshot or download!! This is what you guys don't understand. And after getting their trust and building a relationship with them if you're not sitting with them face to face in a Fanmeet or a fan café event or a concert after building a friendship, when you ask them for news they video call you for some tea and show you photos or videos from their phone in a video call and tell you "If you take a screenshot or record the screen we will never talk to you again and you will pay" , most of them are scary and rude and very much stronger than you think! They can hack you and ruin you. And they did that a lot to Sasaengs such as Sehun's famous Sasaeng "Iridescent boy" and Suho's sasaeng "Rion " and Baekhyun's "Polar Light" ExoL ruined them and hacked their accounts and got them suspended on Twitter and insta and even hacked their bank accounts and their phones and threatened them to expose their photos and take their money and they even Beated "Polar Light"and "Rion" and threatened them that if they ever come to any Exo event or concert they would beat them again to bleeding. To the level that Both Rion and Polar light had massive plastic surgery to change their features completely and they hid their faces with masks and glasses and changed their style completely to be able to attend a concert or fansign without being recognized by the ExoL Mafia! But unfortunately they recognized Rion again and beated the shit out of her until she bled and they sent her back to Japan and told her to never come back again.
So who wants to deal with all of that? Why would I risk all this to give you a photo of Kadi that you will not even appreciate and you might spread to the internet and expose them and me and ruin the both of us? Why would I lose my sources'trust ? Why would I do this sacrifice for you? If you wanna believe then believe it if you don't , DON'T.

So What's with Jimin Lately, You Asked
WARNING THIS IS A LONG-ASS POST And please remember that this is a NO SOURCE NO RECEIPTS HOUSEHOLD OKAY. I don't know shit, I ain't confirming a damn thing, anything you read is my opinion based on maybe info or maybe utter garbage. That's my disclaimer and I am STICKING TO IT. I can't be the only one who has noticed our Jiminie looking a bit...like this, recently:
Tumblr media
And I think I may have one reason why.
Scandals are a fact of life among idols. What in the West might be considered a normal life event is, in the world of the K-pop system, often a career-ending event. Like, IDK, members dating actual women. Or men. Or each other.
Tumblr media
In the last couple of months, all of these things have been alleged - one of them in the press. The other two, behind the scenes. We know about Jimin's mail being stolen and the security failure there, and it's not a stretch to believe that security for BTS overall has taken a hit. It was adequate, even excellent, for years. BigHit pays very well.
Tumblr media
But information pays better, and blackmail pays best. Lest you think "NO but that whole Taehyung-Jennie thing was a stunt"... maybe. Maybe not. Tae, actually, is one of the most scandal-proof idols in the business because he primarily or only dates women. Sorry not sorry, I said what I said and I ain't wrong.
I have said privately, if not publicly, that Hybe will NEVER DENY THOSE RUMORS because Taehyung himself will not deny them. They aren't even bothering to keep them out of the press.
Being straight or even passably so is not a problem, for artists on Bangtan's level (is anyone else even ON Bangtan's level? NO.) The Jeon-Parks, though.
See, the thing about being *gaily involved* in Korea is that... it's a problem no matter how famous or powerful you are. Idols are not immune - ask Holland.
Tumblr media
That's Homo Hill, kids - the WeHo of Seoul. The gayest gayborhood in the entire of Korea. And famous unstr8 people are not safe, there, now.
There was a pay-for-info attempt floating around about JeiKei awhile back. And he was alibi'd for the date(s) in question. Wasn't there, wasn't him, the fakes were good but not good enough to put him somewhere he wasn't. You maybe didn't hear about it because those of us who did, didn't discuss it out loud.
More recently, though.... I'm gonna say this in public this ONE TIME and we will not speak of it again. OKAY? Okay. Sometimes people are for sale that shouldn't be. And security failure has happened more than once in the last couple of months - a problem that, I am told, has since been rectified. And I am not saying money changed hands, do not get me wrong. I'll come find you if you say I said that. But there are REASONS that Jimin and Jungkook are currently not sharing vehicles, not being seen as too friendly, are not "together" in public, not even in interviews or photoshoots. Sometimes a bit of perceived distance is necessary. I don't feel like I should or should need to elaborate.
Add to that the depth of emotional and psychological damage, it's no wonder Jimin doesn't trust anyone, very much, lately.
Tumblr media
My favorite couple have not been seen together in public since their off period began and I don't think I need to further expound on why, unless you're completely unaware of the eyes that are currently on BTS as a whole. (Sorry, I keep deleting stuff. This is taking longer than I thought). But Jimin was the one whose security had already failed - enough that Hybe had to clean up after them.
The others have had sasaeng problems and those are constant and pretty normal business. All idols get that. But all of them are not Park "It Boy" Jimin.
So being threatened with a very real tax lien, and immediately following that even a hint of the possibility of being outed, right NOW? I've deleted a lot more than I can ever write on how gross, how invasive, that is. And that when this is his normal commute:
In the West, Jimin gets a lot of hate from cultists and we don't like to talk about that. But within the last year, a small but rude wave of anti-Jimin sentiment has made its way into Korea. Airplanes and money exist. I've been shocked at what some people are willing to do to further their narrative. If your favorite translator can afford to hit every show with their anti buddies but can't seem to remember to support Jimin's OSTs or solo efforts, ask yourself how they benefit from that and who they support and what else they might be up to that we aren't aware of. If you casually see cult-adjacent accounts that seem to somehow be turning a for-profit narrative ask yourself what loyalty that cash might be buying. It doesn't take a lot of people to crowdfund someone's entire livelihood. Maybe 1000 at $5 a month could get it done.
HELL IF I COULD COMMAND $5K A MONTH FROM Y'ALL I WOULD MOVE OUT MY MAMA'S HOUSE NEXT WEEK AND PAY MY MEDICAL BILLS.
If y'all don't have anything else going on I'll just put me up a whole Ko-fi or Patreon and write fanfiction for a damn living and YOU THINK I AM JOKING I AM NOT EVEN. My services can be bought. Most people can, if they like what they're doing and can get paid to do it. I won't lie to you for cash and I mouth off here for free but hey, a girl needs rent all right, my fanfiction commissions are OPEN.
Get up to a quarter, half-million ad-revenued followers and do the math on that kind of income.
Tumblr media
We can't all be Ryan Kaji, Super Spy, but it ain't for lack of trying.
Now imagine a paparazzi journalist with the idea of a second and third source of cash, plus the street cred of breaking the biggest news story in K-pop history, and their neighbor's second cousin happens to know someone with a vacant window view to a certain apartment and this is how careers get shot down and reinvented much later on another continent.
That's the level of stress, I think, for all of them in general but for Jimin in particular. Maybe on a similar level for Jungkook, somewhat less so for Taehyung. The hyungs have it a little easier, but not by much.
Now add to that Schrodinger's Hiatus and other things we never know about - family stress, life in general, maybe Jimin's plumbing went out or his invisible cat got sick, we don't know everything -- how would we begin to look at our lives, in Jimin's place? Would it be worth it?
Tumblr media
Based on his smile at MNet last night, I really hope so.

One last post about JK and this whole stalker situation.
I’m hearing people say that it’s his own fault this is happening because (a) he does lives from his apartment and (b) he’s famous, so he had it coming.
Bullshit.
First of all, we don’t do victim blame in this household.
Second, yes, he breaks the company’s rules when he does unsupervised lives in unsupervised places. He’s rebellious that way, and perhaps a little immature, but - he’s 25. He’s been under the company’s control and constant observation since he was 13. Maybe he’s a little sick of doing things the way other people want him to, and he wants to be under his own recognizance as much as any other young man does. He has that right. Would I prefer it if he didn’t get shitfaced on live? Of course, but that’s his business, not mine. The fact remains that at no point in any of his live streams did he invite fans to come over, ask them to send him gifts, or reveal anything about his address. Some of that can be found in public records, which sort of sucks, but he hasn’t shown anything on his lives that would reveal that sort of data. He hasn’t even really exposed the layout of his apartment. We’ve been in his living room and his kitchen. We sort of know where the bathroom and laundry room are, but that’s it. That’s not enough to say he’s rolling out a stinking red carpet for obsessed fans.
Third, fame is not a license to be dehumanized, stalked, hunted and harassed. I don’t care what your job is - nobody deserves to be treated like this. Celebrities are all still human beings at the end of the day, and they deserve to be accorded with basic levels of respect, compassion and dignity. This is abuse, and nobody - NOBODY - ever asks to be abused.
Also, I’ve seen people saying that he should have accepted the food and eaten it, since turning it away was rude. How soon we forget. There have been attempts made on other idols’ lives (Yunho in 2006 comes to mind) that have involved poison and other toxic/noxious substances hidden in food and drink. He was wise, not rude, to pitch or refuse the food delivery. If someone is capable of going the extra mile to find his personal address and invade his privacy by inserting themselves into his life through a delivery, then they’d be capable of almost anything else. People are crazy. They do things that make no sense, and they do things to harm people they say they love. You can’t govern or litigate crazy. All you can do is avoid it... unless you have help.
And here’s where I think Big Hit needs to come in. Until the responsible person or persons are identified, found, and stopped, they need to put JK up in a different place or give him round-the-clock guards. They need to find out who sent that delivery and then take steps to get the authorities involved. Stalking is illegal in SK, as it should be everywhere. Maybe they need to give that little section of the penal code a bit of an airing.
Lastly, there’s one place JK could go where the sasaengs can’t follow: the military. And I’m not ready to see him enlist just yet.

while on the subject i would also like to point out that all fansites in their very essence are glorified stalkers who bring forbidden material to concerts so really to engage with any of them when both hybe and bts themselves post high quality concert & backstage pictures nowadays is not only disrespectful of bts’ privacy but also completely unnecessary :-)

Hiya, bit of a possibility strange question but seeing as you just reblogged a post about a seriously creepy fansites I was wondering how you can tell the content is from them? I'm still quite new into kpop and still learning but is there like a username or watermark to look out for or is it just a certain kind of content to stay away from all together? I've heard a bit about the specific one/person you mentioned in the tags and it just makes me sick to hear the terrible things so I would really like to make sure to the best I can I'm not supporting it in any way!
hey! i’ve answered this type of question a bunch (not saying you shouldn’t have asked bc i’m glad you did!!!) so you should be able to find a bunch of resources in my /tagged/sasaengs
but also i’ll just say there is an official blacklist of sasaengs by bighit in that tag and there are also “unofficial” lists of sasaengs made by armys. it comes down to the behavior that you find unacceptable but to me generally anyone following bts or filming them at a schedule/location that has not been released as public information is someone to avoid.

One thing that always annoys me about sasaengs/stalker fans is that they're clearly like intelligent dedicated individuals and they're also clearly aware of that and yet they actively choose not to use those skills for good
Like think about the intelligence, energy, deduction skills that a sasaeng has to put into doing what a sasaeng does.
Now think about how beneficial those skills could be if they chose to put them into something good instead of you know, a literal felony.
Like so much wasted potential, you could do so much good with your skills and yet you choose to use them to terrorise innocent people instead.

📝-Isita🧚🏻‍♂️ https://www.instagram.com/p/Cf2sFC4LZW6PF5DI_pzNaBzqhE5Ln9GDwRZk5w0/?igshid=NGJjMDIxMWI=
