Beau Arlen:

As his car stopped in front of your house, Beau could see the lights still burning brightly in the garage, knowing you were still hard at work.

“Hey,” he greeted you as he stood by the door, watching you with a warm smile.

Your gaze drifted from your canvas to him with a smile before spying the brown paper bag in his hand.

“Brought you something. Figured you were gonna burn the midnight oil and needed some fuel,” he said with a knowing smile.

“You’re a godsend,” you said with a happy sigh and took the bag from him, inhaling the smell of its delicious contents. “I’m sorry I’ve been locked up here so much. It’s just… I’m really nervous about the gallery opening this weekend, and it’s stressing me the fuck out and–,” you rambled before you were stopped by his large palms on your cheeks.

“Hey, it’s okay,” he soothed you, chuckling, and pecked your hairline sweetly. “I get it. You’re gonna do great, alright? Amazing, in fact.”

You let out a deep, calming breath and smiled up at him. How did you deserve such a good man? And where the hell have you found him?

“I love you,” you said and draped your arms around him, crashing your lips against his and entangling him in a searing kiss that showed your gratitude. But as you pulled back, your eyes widened in shock. You clasped your mouth.

“What?” Beau looked at you confused before he caught your gaze locked on his shoulders and saw the red-painted handprints on his jeans jacket.

“I’m so sorry,” you gasped, embarrassed. You’d been working with paint everywhere all day. Of course it was all over you at this point.

To your surprise, though, Beau broke into loud laughter and shook his head at you. “Honey, it’s okay,” he told you before his freckled face was overtaken by a mischievous look. “In fact…”

He leaned over to one of your paint cans and dipped his finger inside a white one before booping your nose. You could feel a wet, cold blob on your tip as you gaped at him.

“You did not just do that.” You were speechless, but his playful laugh was contagious and intoxicating.

“Oh, it’s so on,” you announced and dunked your hand in a shade of blue, splattering it graciously on him.

“Oh yeah? Hope you’re ready ‘cause this means war, darlin’,” he countered with a wide grin, his hands finding green and yellow.

He chased you through the garage until he caged you in his arms, your mouth erupting with giggles until he filled it with kisses. Paint was everywhere, your clothes soaked and his beard and hair sprinkled like a cupcake.

“We’re never gonna get clean again,” you noted through giggles, looking at the beautiful mess in front of you as you brushed your fingers through his locks.

Beau lifted you up on your workbench, your legs locking around his waist. He kissed you deeply, feeling his excitement growing between your thighs.

“Guess we’ll just have to stay dirty then,” he said with a smirk and claimed your lips.

Soldier Boy:

You were curled up on the couch in your apartment, your eyes flickering between the bowl of fruit on the coffee table and your sketch pad in your hands.

Your concentration, however, was broken when a loud thud echoed off the walls and almost shattered the coffee table in a thousand pieces, sending the bowl of fruit flying across the room.

Your eyes lifted from your sketch pad and to your boyfriend in front of you, propped up with one muscular leg on the small table, elbow resting on his thigh with a bulging biceps and a painfully hard cock.

Annoyed, you huffed a sigh but weren’t surprised. You had been working on your assignment all day and wondered when your needy-ass, attention-seeking supe boyfriend would get bored with watching TV and smoking weed in your room.

“Ben, what the hell are you doing?” You looked up at him and saw the broad and proud smirk on his freckled face.

Cocksure didn’t even do him justice.

He wiggled his eyebrows. “Figured I’d give you something better to draw than a fucking boring-ass banana.”

“Uhm… that is so sweet and considerate of you. But I really need to draw fruit this week. That’s the assignment,” you said wryly before pushing him out of the way.

Well, as best as you could. He was a supe after all, but he budged and bent to your movement.

Pursing his lips, he threw his arms up in upset. “Oh, really? And what the fuck is all this shit, huh?”

Dramatically, he tossed one of your art maps on the table and crossed his arms over his broad chest, waiting for an explanation. As you peeked at the scattered sketches of naked men (and women), you knew what this was about.

You rolled your eyes back with a deep sigh. Of course he snooped through your stuff when you left him unsupervised in your room. “Ben, I told you already. We were drawing human models last month.”

“You never fucking said they were naked!” he argued, his deep voice trembling with jealousy and fury. “So, what? You’re just off, drawing cocks all day at that art school of yours?! I won’t fucking allow it, Y/N!”

You stifled a snort and tried to remain calm. He was honestly cute when he was greener than his suit. “Honey, you don’t have to be jealous. You know I love you... and your giant-ass dick.”

Biting the insides of his cheeks, he blushed slightly as he calmed down. “Yeah, well, you fucking better. ‘Sides, I’m not jealous. My cock’s way better than whatever those crooked-ass dicks are. Can’t even see them without a fucking magnifying glass…”

“Oh, yeah, for sure,” you feigned your agreement and hid your amused smile, nodding heavily. You stood up from the couch and locked your arms around his broad shoulders. You pulled his lips to yours, kissing him passionately until all his worries faded. His dick twitched between your legs. “You know, sometimes I’m surprised how you don’t explode with that giant ego of yours, welling from every pore.”

“Oh, you want me to explode?” Ben looked challengingly at you, smirking. “I can arrange that. In fact, how about I make you my fucking canvas and splatter my paint all over you, huh?”

“Ben, what–…” You burst into laughter, which was swiftly turned into a giggling shriek of protest as he grabbed you and threw you over his shoulder, carrying you to the bedroom.

HELLOOO I'M BACK ok ok remember how I said in Jax's analysis that the zapping scene could actually have a lot of information into it?? Let me elaborate:

There are two things that mainly caught my attention in that scene:

1 - How the lightning bolts that come out of the collar are yellow

2- How the shock is really quick (literally just a snap)

"Oh that must be just a stylistic choice right? don't look too deep into it-" WRONG!!!

In the Jax's Doodles, when Caine bites down Jax's head, we can see that he started bleeding in black. Why can I affirm that his blood really is black and it's not just because the comic is in grayscale?

For this reason:

During the Teatre Shenanigans, though it was all an act, it's implied that Ragatha does bleed in red, since, you know, the color is there, and because if it was any other color Pomni might have not believed it.

Also, let's be real, Gangle would not mess up something as simple as someone's blood color - her plays need to be >perfect< I love her so much omg

Still using the Theatre Shenanigans doodles as information, but with the addition of the new comic of Pomni taking the shortest stick, we can see through Gangle's ribbons that if there are colors that are portrayed, even when the comics are in black and white, those colors are red and yellow, so if his blood was actually red, it would've been painted as such.

So with that in mind we can pretty much say that his blood is, in fact, black.

As we can see in the part 2 of the neck pieces, his speaking bubbles are also in black and white, and, through an ask made some time ago, it was confirmed that he can only see in grayscale, and that's the reason why Gangle is the one in charge of coloring his animations.

EVERYTHING, literally EVERYTHING about Jax is monochromatic, grayscale, black and white, 50 shades of gr- you got it. He is NOT supposed to be associated with any color AT ALL

And that really highlights how out of place are the yellow bolts that come out of his collar. Jax is not supposed to have any type of color. The shock emitted from his neckpiece does not match with the way his level is supposed to be, doesn't match with his room, his character, his code, but why would that be??

Is there the chance that the chain wasn't his original collar? It does make sense if you look at some of the theories, especially regarding Kinger's role in the bigger picture. In the Imgur image, Kinger does mention to Queenie that he found a code that could free everyone from their collars, but, the main catch here, is that he could NOT disable it after it was done.

Well, we know that he did disabled it, and as a consequence, Queenie abstracted soon after

After it happened, Kinger probably was really desperate to put the collars back on the other AIs, he didn't want his friends to have the same fate his wife had,

But he couldn't disable the code that took them off, so what could he do now??

Simple answer:

He created a new code, so there could be new collars

That ties up with the ask answered with "it's hard to put a chain on someone if they have a scarf on", Jax's chain was probably not part of his design originally, it was not made for him, it was not part of his code in the first place,

Pure speculation, but this might be why Jax's supposedly new collar doesn't follow in every aspect the whole monochromatic idea that his design was meant to have. The yellow lightnings stand out because Kinger probably didn't put a lot of effort into the new collars, he didn't make sure that they matched with the quirks and characteristics already coded into the characters, as he was too desperate to put them back on and just made the code as quickly as he could.

At most he just made the neckpieces blend in with the AIs designs, so they wouldn't stand out. They just match at a superficial level.

(funny part is that Jax probably didn't even notice the yellow coming out of his collar, he can't see colors 😭).

This is why I imagine that his original design never had a chain to begin with, both because of this information, AND, because in Jax's room, we can see him wearing the scarf in the ripped out poster.

Was the scarf supposed to be his original neckpiece? But why would he still wear it after everyone had taken theirs off (as seen in the restarting scene, in the same comic)? To be honest I think he just liked how it looked, he did seem to have a fashion sense back then.

But, by that theory, of the chains not being his actual design, he has also chains on his feet, was his whole design altered?? Why would it be?? I still don't have any clue on why, gotta wait a little for more information.

I like to think that his current design reflects on his character, being a prisoner of both the game and his mind, and quite literally stuck in the past, being unable to move forward.

OK Now for the second part of the analysis

Remember my comment, saying that the shock he received was really quick? That stood out to me because during Ragatha's reset, when she also received the shock to avoid her abstraction, her shock was actually longer than his, being a "ZPPPPPP" instead of a "SNAP". Something I've also noticed is that both times when Jax got shocked, it seemed to be at a less intensity then when Raghata was, because there was a difference in line thickness and size of the lightning bolts shown.

After Jax's restart, in his room, we can see three centipedes, that's the most bugs we've ever seen in the same room until now, since we had only seen a single ladybug in Ragatha's garden, right after her reset.

Ok, so, I did talk a little about how Kinger might be the one responsible for the collars, and I also made an ask this one time to know if he was using the bugs as a way to keep an eye on the others (that was me!!! Hi!!)

If you pay attention to the relationships between the cast, we can see that Ragatha and Kinger are actually pretty close. They trust each other, while Jax seems to have a rocky relationship with everyone.

That might be the reason why there were more bugs than usual in Jax's room, because Kinger doesn't trust him and is aware of his rebellious nature, so he must feel the need to supervise him to a higher extent when compared to others.

Besides that, while Ragatha is really unstable, she doesn't seem to need to restart that frequently, therefore it's possible that only a small shock is able to make her restart. Jax, on the other hand, has already been shown being shocked twice, both with a bigger intensity than seen with Rags.

I believe that if Kinger truly was the one responsible for the collars, he also must have set the potency of the shocks in a way that it was only used the intensity necessary to reset them, so they didn't need to suffer more than needed.

Since Jax does behave in a more erratic manner when compared to the other AIs, the potency of the collar must have been set in a way that it would be able to restart him as quickly as possible, which means it must be in a higher setting,

On the other hand, Raghata probably needs less power for her to reset, because, while unstable, she's not as rebellious as him, so her settings are lower. In the comic used as a reference, however, she is shown to be extremely stressed, so for her to restart it might have been needed for the shock to be at a higher intensity.

Since her collar is not programmed to give such strong shocks, the solution found was for it to last longer, at least in that moment. That can also be the reason why Kinger appeared in the loading screen, because he got worried with the possibility of the collar not being able to stop her from abstraction, so he went to check on her.

That's everything for now!!! It did take lot of work to transcribe the stuff from the theory board to here (it's pretty disorganized ashuhuash) ,but I think I managed to express most of my analysis/theory!!

Summary: It was love at first sight, a cute little human taking care of them? What more can they ask for.

They were soldiers, hard muscle on the outside and hard brains on the inside. They showed no fear, death was their middle name, they never gave mercy and shot who deemed worthy of meeting the end of their guns.

But when they first met their personal doctor they became whipped. It was embarrassing, big macho men and women folding at the sight of a little human woman.

General Ardmore was showing Deja Blu around the main control centres, giving them all the information they lost within the fifteen years they were dead. She strolled into one of the medical centres, it being filled with gurneys, high tech equipment and avatar related items. “And this here is where you will specifically be patched up since no other medic wing deals with anything Avatar”

The team looked around in wonder, there was stuff they’ve never seen even on Hellsgate. They admired the hologram projections and cool lab equipment, touching them with big hands and picking them up to look closer. Zhang held up a Na’vi skull model, twisting it around and raising a brow.

“Excuse me!” a little voice cried out to the right of him, the man tilted his head and spotted a human woman in a laboratory coat, a stethoscope around her neck. He squatted so he could be eye to eye with her “you might wanna put that model down, it’s quite fragile and you might end up breaking it”

Zhang’s tail swished behind him “oh yea, sorry” he gave the too big model to her, it looking huge in her little hands. She thanked him and placed it back onto the table, turning around at the General’s call.

“This is Dr ___, she specialises in Na’vi anatomy and has numerous degrees on medicine. She will be your teams doctor from here on out” ___’s eyes widened, she did not recall this in the job description.

Quaritch turned to her and analysed her form, nodding his head in approval. She was timid but if the General approved then he can’t say no “She’ll do general”

“Good. She’s the best there is. Now if you’ll excuse me” Ardmore turned on her heel and started to walk out “get yourself familiar with one another, I got a meeting to attend” but before she could walk out the door, the little doctor rushed towards her, asking to speak outside.

Wainfleet shared a look with Zdinarsk behind the colonel, raising their brows. She was cute, the human woman. But she didn’t seem to happy to be with them. ___ walked back into the medbay and sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose. She had no choice but to work with them, no one else could or would.

Ja walked up to her and kneeled to her height “so..I’m Alexander Ja, I’m the squads medic. Nice to have another doc around to help” he raised a hand for her to shake and she took it, five fingers barely wrapping around only two of his and his ears perked. So small. So cute.

“It’s nice to meet you, although I would’ve hoped a heads up beforehand” ___ took her hand back and walked to a table, taking out a folder that was under one of her arms and opening it. Ardmore gave her some information on the recombinants and their mission. To kill Jake Sully. But before then, the aliens would have to stay at Bridgehead for a while and get used to their new bodies.

“You weren’t told you’d work with us?” Mansk stared at her back, yellow eyes raking up and down her figure behind his shades. ___ placed the file down and nodded, turning around to face the team.

“No I wasn’t. But I wont complain. If Ardmore says I have to then I have to” she shrugged, looking at Quaritch “why don’t you guys follow me. I’ll show you around the rest of the place” they all nodded and stood tall, following behind her and taking in their new home, occasionally breathing through their regulators.

“And this is your dormitory. The rooms are specifically designed for your bodies, so bigger beds, bigger showers, taller ceilings. You won’t need your regulators inside the bedrooms since we have a special filtration system, but you’ll need it for the main area” ___ took a keycard from her pocket and swiped on one of the locks on a door, opening it and stepping inside the room.

“Woah.. pretty rad” Fike spun in a circle looking at their new home. The recoms all shared an apartment, but with separate rooms and en suites. They will share a communal area, it was like being back on Earth.

Zdinarsk agreed, opening the fridge and seeing it stocked up to the brim, ears wiggling. They had all the good stuff. Lyle looked at the little lady and asked where she was staying, just in case they might need her for the future.

“I’m just down the hall, apartment 342. You can either knock for me or page me if you need me while we’re off duty” she tapped a device on her hip to show them it’s on her at all times, she was a doctor, of course she’s on call 24/7.

“Thanks for this ___. We haven’t had much…hospitality from the other folks” Quaritch squatted to look at her and patted her head, tail swishing behind him. The other recoms sounded out their agreement, the other members of Bridgehead gave them cold and disgusted looks when they walked past. Much different to the time they were human. But ___ went out of her way to help them, despite showing reluctance at the start. “We look after our own here, you’re apart of our team now”

___ flushed slightly at the affection “thank you colonel”

“Miles, or Quaritch. Whichever you prefer darlin”Wainfleet nudged Brown next to him and wiggled his brows, both of them giggling like little girls. Quaritch rolled his eyes at his soldiers, giving them the finger and smirking when they immediately turned their backs to him. “These two ladies are Lyle Wainfleet and Steve Brown” they both swivelled their heads and waved at the human “that over there is Alicia Zdinarsk. We call her Z-Dog”

“Yeah she’s an absolute hound in the field” Mansk piped up, Z kicked the back of his knee in retaliation but puffed up her chest when ___ smiled at her. “I’m Kevin Mansk, that’s Sean Fike, Andrew Prager and Kim Zhang”

Quaritch grumbled a little, ears pulled down. He wanted to introduce his squad. “It’s nice to meet you all. I hope we’ll get along well” ___ giggled and patted the colonels arm, noting the pouting face. Miles tail swished and repetitively slapped Lyles legs.

“Colonels got a crushhh” Fike dragged out to Prager in a whisper, only to get yelled at by a big, buff angry cat man.

___ grinned at them. Yeah, they’d get along just fine.

So, imagine BSD charecters like Dazai,Chuuya, Fyodor and Nikolai (you can add other charecters if you want to) with a s/o whose eye color changes based on their emotions. Like red for anger, green for happiness, pink/ purple for love, grey/ blue for when they are upset and Brown is like a neutral color for them.

"Pink is more like j-joy! Yeah! Joy!" You try to cover up the true meaning behind the color, sending Dazai an awkward smile.

"Oh? But I've never seen your eyes pink on any other occasion? And Why is your face so red?" Dazai takes a step closer and cups your face with his right hand, teasing you. "Perhaps pink means embarrassment? Or perhaps... Love~?" He whispers seductively in your ear.

"Y-you know purple is love!" You defend yourself, slapping Dazai's hand away as a pout crosses your lips.

"I was referring to romantic love, dear." He winks. You groan at the cheesiness of the situation, yet are incredibly flustered at the same time. Dazai's shit-eating smirk only gross as he hears your silence. "Not talking now are we? Why is your eyes turning a deeper shade of pink? It means joy right? Are you perhaps... Enjoying this?"

The your eyes start to turn yellow (yellow = embarrassment) as you turn your head to glance in the opposite direction of Dazai, not wanting him to see the redness of your cheeks. Dazai chuckles at this action, taking your face in his hands so your face is infront of yours before pecking your lips.

"Your face gives me all I need to know how you feel about me, and what pink eyes REALLY mean..."

jellyfish bg is weird maybe i didnt put enough thought into it

maybe i could have put some yellows in the sweater?? u also cant see wtv is going on in the pants i put too much dark shadow i think

i can fix all of that rn before posting but im lazy

Uhhhh okay, how to explain this one. I was rereading “Logically Lucky” by PinkSweetSmoke and some of the visuals in the earlier chapters really struck me. The way that they write this relationship is pretty dynamic, and I wanted to see if I could use colors to talk about how Hajime and Nagito feel for each other and what they’re going through emotionally? So this is fanart for that fic, directly inspired by that fic based on the established vista(s) and also the style of writing their relationship, but it doesn’t really make sense unless I say all of that lol? But it wouldn’t exist if not for that fic, so I’d feel weird not mentioning it.

Brushes used (Clip Studio, Free):

Main: “ラフペン” from gyuukotu’s “Fill Set (塗りセット)”, content ID 1695210 Fill: Default India Ink brush pen - the rough pen is a little unpredictable, so I used this to flat the image and make sure that there were no gaps Cloud Flat: "荒筆" from gyuutoku's “Fill Set (塗りセット)”, content ID 1695210 Cloud Blender: I downloaded it from the internet instead of the app 2 years ago and cannot find, with certainty, where it came from, since I get rid of everything on my hard drive that's not art every year :( there are lots of good cloud blending brushes out there for free, though, and I typically use the gouache blender Misc. Techniques: Screen Distortion: I used CSP's free cloth texture clipped above the "blue" layers and then liquified it in places for the screen distortion effect Gradient Mapping: I cannot overstate how helpful gradient maps were for minor color corrections, you guys PLEASE try them on a finished piece of your own if you haven't used them yet. Click Layers > New Correction Layer > Gradient Map and then choose from the premade gradients before adding your own so you can see how they worked. I used a few different ones clipped to specific areas w/ lowered opacity & hard/soft light settings where I felt like the color was falling flat and it was SO helpful at giving it just that little bit more depth. Hearts: I've discovered that you can cheat at hair and clothing rendering by just making hearts. Try and see how many you can find lol Color Theory in General: The whole point of this piece, after it stopped being fanart (lol rip), was to be a color study focusing on the contrast between shadow and light and what I could do within the blues & the yellows to make them appear as if they're actually different colors. In the blue section, everything is p much blue, nothing is any other color. In the sunny section, a lot of the stuff is warmer variations of the standard colors, since I wanted it to be more vibrant and didn't feel like I could achieve that if everything was shades of yellow and orange. That being said, I stuck as closely to that as possible. But ANYWAY, juxtaposing the two starkly different color profiles also helps the blues in the blue side read as colors that they aren't, which was part of why I did this study. Sneaky sneaky: I just modified the diner a bit in order to get the colors I wanted, i.e closing the blinds bc I can. As an artist it's important to remember that YOU have full control over every single part of the piece, you just should ideally have a reason to create inaccuracies/ break rules or else it can end up being a bit messy and disorganized & details/ your vision can get lost.

Ghost seer Mirabel is super cool! I imagine she'd be the golden child of the family instead of Isabela, since she gives Abuela the chance to communicate with Pedro, what do you think her room and outfit would look like? I feel like she'd have a lighter shade of blue with more white and gold, giving her an almost angelic color palette, the people of Encanto would definitely consider her an angel in the same way Isabela is in canon, maybe her room could have similar angelic theming?

But I’m. Yes, probably. I’d guess. I mean she can literally talk to Pedro, who is virtually Alma’s whole reason for all this. But hey, at least Isabela isn’t forced to be perfect, and thus not forced to be married to Mariano. So, that means Dolores can get with him. Also, I guess since Isabela isn:t perfect, Dolores isn’t necessarily in her shadow anymore either lmao. Camilo would still probably be close. I also imagine Mirabel went to Bruno a lot (cause he has no reason to leave lmao), cause seeing all those dead people kind freaked her out when it really settled in. And Bruno’s got bout the closest gift to her.

And yeah⁉️ I think when she was younger, she would have a lot more white over gold. Like her dress was made to make her look like she was a little cloud almost. She also only had her gift on her clothing. But as she got older, she had more candle motifs put into her clothes (Julieta and Agustín refused to let Alma put pressure on a small 5 year old girl for being the next candle holder). Mirabel really wanted to embroider her skirt, but Alma heavily suggest (insisted) she do it in gold/pale yellow. Worked for Mirabel.

I??? Don’t know why I chose closed eyes, but yeah. Open eyes kinda freaked me out, so I closed them. Gives it a more gentle, approachable feel. Also, she begged Alma to have pink earrings and pink shoes. Sure, she kept the green glasses (her 5 year old logic was that the blue was for her side of the family, yellow/gold was for Pepa, her green glasses for Bruno, and the pinkish shoes was for her abuela. Alma let it slide 😭)

Also since her gift involves one of the senses, sight, I think her door might have open eyes. You know, like how Dolores’ is hearing, and Bruno’s is also sight? Yeahhhhh sumn like that.

Her room is like. Above the clouds. Imagine an airplane flying above the clouds; that’s basically what it’s like. You might think creepy cemetery vibes with all the dead people, but it’s the opposite. You’d be surprised how calm and relaxed dead people are. Coming from heaven to visit family members vibes.

Y’all, I’m not an architect or an interior designer so. Don’t look too hard. The depth is probs off 👹

Obsessing over the idea of painting the BSD men's nails

Painting Dazai's a teal to match his bolo tie (he'd want to paint yours too (they look bad and he hates having to wait for them to dry, they're already smudged before you finish his other hand

Doing an entire skincare routine with Chuuya, he gets a nice cunty red (has to be bribed a bit, but he'd love it after)

Atsushi with a yellow or purple to match his eyes

Painting Kenjis with cow spots

Fukuzawa doesn't get it but he sees everyone else with painted nails and wants to join in (he gets a forest green to match his clothes <3)

Tachihara with a red or olive green (Red for HD Tachi and olive green for PM to match his coat)

Convincing Oda with the kids' help and it's a huge mess, but he gets a pretty burgundy

Fyodor getting a dark purple almost black (He hates it and needs so much convincing, gags every time he bites his nails and makes you take it off after a few days)

Nikolai gets a different color on each finger because he can't choose just one (it looks horrendous but he loves it)

Sigma with a white base and purple iridescent flakes (He'd love it and paint your nails in return, and unlike Dazai's they'd look absolutely perfect)

Bram knows what nail polish is and that it's pretty but??? Why do you want to paint them??? He lets you and Aya do it and they look gorgeous

Jouno cringes and shivers every time you put a new layer on (the polish is cold) so he makes you do something simple and you just do some pretty red french tips (To match his hair)

Tetcho just vibing and doesn't mind it, black with nice pink accents that match the color of plum blossoms for his ability name

Summary: You two and the morning sun.

The sun pierced through the windows of your house, 6 different shades of pink, yellow and orange hitting the objects shattered around your room. Nothing could beat the sunrise in Wakanda, and both you and Okoye could account for this, having compared many sunrises together.

You woke up, and soaked in the scent of your shared bedroom. It smelled like the one place you always loved being.

Home, it smelled like home.

The two of you hadn't been in this bedroom for months now, with both of you either staying in hotels and rented houses when you left Wakanda, or having to sleep in your headquarters in the palace for your duties.

Today was the first of 7 days where you both were excused from work and had no official plans made. After 6 months of hard work and dedication to your jobs, Shuri felt that you more than deserved it.

You laid there, unwilling to open your eyes before having fully woken the rest of your body up. You always did a quick inspection on yourself before and after you slept, just to make sure that you were in top shape.

Yesterday, you remembered almost going to sleep with a really bad ache in your back, but Okoye had stopped you. Seeing the clear expression of discomfort, she made you sit up and turned you around facing away from her.

She went to work on every knot and tension built area on your back, and after the most soothing massage ever, she gently hugged you from the back, kissing the nape of your neck, before coming closer and kissing your cheek.

You turned your head, kissing her passionately while turning around to face her. You hugged her firmly, removing your lips from hers and allowing her head to lay on your shoulder while you laid yours on hers.

It was a peaceful moment, this. Hugs and kisses in private were your favourite thing to do with each other. You loved when she kissed you because she did it with such care and intention, every place she chose to kiss lighting up inside the moment her lips touched them.

She, on the other hand, loved when you hugged her. Your hugs were never too hard, or too soft. They were always just perfect and the way that you let her know that she could stand down, even if only for a few moments, always left her feeling so safe.

When the two of you were alone, it wasn't like when the two of you were in public. In public, you were two warriors that happened to be in a relationship. Two warriors who were clearly in love, and would die for each other, but still, warriors. Never showing signs of weakness.

When you were alone, however, you were just two women. You were two vulnerable women, who craved love and needed to feel all of the things they couldn't while working. You were two women loving each other in ways that no one from the past ever had.

These moments were the ones that kept you going when you had to be warriors. Knowing what waited at home when all was said and done is what kept the both of you moving.

That night, your hug lasted much longer than usual, both of you not wanting to let go, and eventually, you decided to just sleep like that. You both got under the covers, and then proceeded to get into the same position as before, you hugging Okoye with all of your heart.

Now, in the morning, you laid in the same position. Opening your eyes to see yourself wrapped around your world. She was still sleeping comfortably in your arms and you were still holding her with the same intensity that you had remembered falling asleep with.

You thought about everything that you might need to do over the next week. You wanted to change a few things in the house. You had to visit family, and at some point there was a wedding happening. You'd need to get up soon, breaking the moment to go ahead with your lives. But you decided that all of that could wait, so you continued where you had left off. You kissed her head, then her forehead.

There was a scar from an accident on her head from years ago, and although it usually wasn't visible, you knew it like the back of your hand, having been the one to fix the wound. You'd had to stitch the deep cut after your first mission, when you two had just gotten out of training and on the field.

You'd been together even back then, and although you'd never admit it to anyone who asked, you'd both cried that day. Okoye, from the shock of seeing what being a part of the Dora Milaje was actually like, and you from seeing her hurt. To current day, you still felt a tug in your heart whenever you looked at it.

You proceeded, kissing it too.

This must have woken her up because the moment you aimed for the next kiss on her cheek, she moved suddenly and your kiss landed on her lips.

You hummed good morning through the kiss, and she did the same, tightening her grip on you, as you indulged in each other's presence.

When your lips finally separated, the two of you held eye contact. You two were like the moon and the stars. Beautiful both alone but only truly complete together.

You couldn't compose your smile around this woman, and it drove you crazy.

"I love you."

"I love you." She replied, her voice still hoarse, much like yours.

This wasn't just a normal I love you, like some of the couple's you'd see on TV. For the two of you, I love you was an affirming statement that you never went far into the day without saying.

Since the first day that you had both said those 3 words, you hadn't gone even half a day without saying it. On days where you weren't together, you'd use your kimoyo beads and send short messages that only the two of you knew meant I love you, while other times you would just mouth the words to yourselves as if you were next to each other, and then say it a bunch of times when you reunited.

It was a promise that you made to each other everytime that you said it.

I love you really meant: I'm yours. Forever and Always.

The two of you looked up at your roof, with its large open window centre, where you could see the sky. You watched the sun start to wake the rest of the sky up.

"What do you want to do today?" Okoye asked suddenly, running circles on your shoulder with her fingers.

"We can go around the city, or we could go shop for what we want to wear at Rishe's wedding, or-"

"Can I just lay here with you?" You asked, interrupting her train of thought.

You got a smile and a kiss in return.

"Okay, then I guess we're laying here."

So you spent the morning in bed, barely talking, but rather just enjoying the morning sun, and loving each other.

of course!

the 2018 regent's park open air theatre little shop of horrors production is pretty standout visually because (while they didn't change the script by updating it) they did move away from the typical 1960s historical fashion for the characters and instead played with modern outfits and a blend of textures. the whole show had a strong colour scheme of black and white, neon green, pink, and blue. costumes & scenic design was by tom scutt.

we'll start with seymour, as played by the lovely marc antolin. his outfit is all blue, down to his glasses. (why are the curtains blue? you could say for his boyishness, or that he's kind of a melancholy character, or that white guys always wear blue, take your pick haha)

the main bit is a boiler suit made of different patchworked denim in various contrasting stripes and tied around his waist. his short sleeve button up continues the patchwork vibe with the painted brushstroke-esque check pattern. he also wears a shacket at certain points, and while hard to see in the above image it also had a thin pinstriped pattern. seymour is all about pattern mixing. a fun detail to note is that audrey ii's main colour is obviously green: in the centre bottom photo you can see he wore green band-aids on his fingers :')

also: while in these above photocall pictures that were used in promotion here had him in yellow socks, it's important to note that, at least when i saw it, his socks were pink. who's main colour is pink? it's audrey.

actually, her first outfit is also mostly blue. seymour and audrey have the most similar colour scheme so that gives them a strong visual link. so her first outfit is very much giving sexy: she's got a frilly top that we can see her bra through. we have a nod to vintage fashion with her cigarette pants. also while these photos show her wearing fluffy slide slippers, when i saw it she was wearing the little clear plastic kitten heels shown in the design sketch - we can tell this is her 'im trying to look sexually appealing to my boyfriend' look. she's showing it all off.

but notably, her hair is this adorable bubblegum pink shade, so i thought it was extra cute that seymour had socks to match. just a little hint of who he's thinking about.

anyway, during act 2, when audrey & seymour's relationship is blossoming further, audrey debuts a different look entirely:

(concept sketch shown along with a photo of understudy rosalind james.) in dramatic constrast to her 'sexy-for-orin' look, now she's in dungarees and a cute sweater, and she's swapped the heels out for sneakers. also, she's got on a pair of pink glasses, suggesting that contact lenses were part of her sexy look. this look is all about comfort: because she's happy and in love with seymour, who makes her feel more comfortable than orin did, and this outfit looks nicely like the 'partner' look to seymour's outfit.

so this is her 'sominex' outfit, the look she wears when she encounters audrey ii just before she dies. the clear raincoat is honestly just fun. i think if i recall right the stage directions in the script do call for her to be wearing a yellow rain-slicker, but pink is this audrey's colour, so she's rocking this. the glasses are still on too.

underneath, she's wearing this fun floaty half-blue half-pink nightie with matching 'mismatched' pompom slippers. she is giving everything in this look honestly. the meeting of the pink-and-blue, because she's wearing both her own and seymour's main colours (she'd still love him, even if he'd never found the plant, and all she wanted was to be with seymour 😭)

i'll do orin next:

absolutely obsessed with matt willis as the dentist. as a busted fan in my childhood, i went to see this production specifically for him :') so he's got a much more dishevelled punk look he's very ghoulish with his white foundation and heavy black eyeliner. also love the detail of him having a blacked-out tooth too, really emphasises how he's probably not the best of dentists. his dentist gear including bloody apron is in a very medical neon blue-green, and i love how utterly sci-fi horror the gas mask harness is. LOVE the ripped off sleeves on his white coat. he also had this amazing leather jacket with tooth design on and the ensemble had matching outfits:

get a load of the teeth print leggings on the backup dancer on the middle left, absolutely obsessed. love the 1980s punky vibe for the 'dentist' number. this production makes great use of matt willis' own tattoos: after seymour kills orin, he came back on stage with some dismembered orin bits, and the creative team had gone to the effort of painting matt willis' tattoos onto the fake arms that seymour fed to the plant :')

okay let's move on and look at mr mushnik, played by forbes masson:

small guy, huge voice, absolute standout. they've gone for 'little greasy man' as the vibe here, complete with a drawn-on pencil moustache. his outfit, much like the ensemble, doesn't have a lot of colour, just a fairly normal grey suit with a work jacket. the most notable thing about his look is that while he starts out in a purple bow tie, once the shop starts seeing success, he wears a bow tie in audrey ii's neon green. like seymour's band-aids, audrey ii's colour (and therefore her influence/impact) shows up in the costumes of a lot of the other characters.

let's do audrey ii next then, as played by vicky vox:

so this production makes use of both the usual 'audrey ii is a puppet' situation plus then having the drag queen performer on stage to interact with the other characters as like, the plant personified. absolute LOVED it. let's start with the puppet:

we've got the baby form and slightly bigger form i think here, it's a fun alien looking plant, love the spherical head with human teeth. for the plant to 'grow', a bigger version of this plant head is placed inside of a 'mouth' that can open and close sort of like an aperture:

and upon opening it, drag queen audrey ii steps out. she kind of comes in and out of it, and mostly just interacts with seymour.

this outfit is absolutely fabulous, and i especially love the 'HERE IT IS' pointing down to her booty on the back of the jacket.

then a notable progression for audrey ii's appearance is the changing wigs. we can see that her first wig shown here below is the direct partner of audrey's, (after all, the plant was named after her) and is styled the same way.

when i saw the show, both audreys were wearing different wigs that i thought weren't really as pretty as the ones from the photocall, these wigs are on the left of the above image. i'll call these the round wigs.

the most important thing to note though is that when audrey ii first appears, she has that strong visual link to original audrey. and this is played up in the way that audrey ii interacts with seymour during 'feed me' - audrey ii acts quite flirtatious with seymour and he seems receptive to it and has to visibly shake himself out of it. then in the second act, audrey ii switches wigs to the style in the above middle. during suppertime, there was more of audrey ii trying to be flirtatious with seymour, but at this point he is much more disgusted by it: audrey ii's wig no longer resembles original audrey’s, and by now seymour hates her guts.

the final look for audrey ii via photocall features what seems to be the original wig but with the curls blown out, styled to be more messy and windswept, but by the end of the run during the finale audrey ii just wore the round wig, with the added venus flytrap headpiece and feathered cape.

apologies for the terrible screencaps: the fabric the cape was made of featured green rocky horror-esque lips showing teeth. it was mega. the wig also featured some long pink extensions at the back.

let's go back a bit to some other characters who have been wearing audrey ii's green consistently, and that's the urchins:

they wear these punky, i would say more 1990s streetwear inspired costumes throughout the whole show, and don't change until the end. the two gals on the left wear pieces that tie in strongly to the set, which is a crumbling grayscale newspaper-inspired city/drive-in theatre set proclaiming 'GOD BLESS AMERICA' across the top.

we can see the girl on the far left has a grayscale US flag top, while the middle girl has grey cityscape patterned sweatpants. then all three of them are wearing the bright neon of audrey ii, reminded us and the audience who's story they're telling. out of the 3, my definite fave look is the girl on the right, with the green jacket and shiny 'FEED ME' print leggings. i need those leggings. but yes what we can notice is that 2/3 urchins' outfits align strongly not only with audrey ii's green but with the same grayscale/cityscape patterns that the ensemble wear during skid row & other scenes:

anyway i like that the ensemble's look speaks to like... the set coming alive to tell the story. it's cool. this comes back during act 2 when the ensemble put on gloves that resemble audrey ii's vines and push around shopping trolleys with bits of building set inside:

not so easy to see that they were wearing the gloves, but basically they had long fingers that looked like smaller versions of these vines.

and with all this green let's get to the finale, where everyone has a different look. we've already seen audrey ii, here's the urchins.

lovely and shiny looks, this time they're all wearing the same thing. these are their sort of... idk i guess this is circus vibes tbh? welcome to this absolute circus: the finale definitely DOES have a circus vibe, making clowns of the cast, particularly seymour. here's a look at everyone with audrey ii lording over everything at the top:

the enesmble have VERY fun alien plant costumes on, with a big focus on toothy mouths and floppy tongues (we've seen audrey ii's cape with its green lips so it's all on the same oral fixation) let's take a closer look at seymour's outfit, which is definitely giving clown, considering he was the great fool of the story.

so it's this great big fluffy clown suit over his blue shirt that now his this shiny blood appliqued on, love it, with the green on the limbs ending at the shirt with the plant lips and teeth at his shoulders/waist, implying that his limbs have been eaten by the plant. this is great to see in action!

now let's take a look at the rest which i'm gonna have to show via very low quality screencaps because seymour's was the only photo tom scutt posted. here's audrey, orin & mushnik's 'plant looks', these guys are more like... audrey ii's put them in drag.

audrey's achieved her somewhere that's green fantasy, in a great swirly dress with full skirt and ruffly sleeves, still in her blue and pink colour scheme, in her same sneakers and pink glases. she's also got white lace gloves on. audrey ii said 'okay girl you can have this as a treat'. hers is the least alien-plant because it's like... audrey's fantasy look, and i love that.

orin's in a gold sequin mini-dress, but still his same combat boots. it reminds me of a brad pitt photoshoot from rolling stone 1999. look it up and i think you'll agree and i'd hazard a guess that it was a direct inspiration for this look.

mushnik's got on the long vine-finger gloves that the ensemble has during the meek shall inherit, and then a spectacular sequined set: blazer, bow tie, and the actor forbes masson said it's specifically supposed to be a kilt, because he is scottish and i think chose this as part of his look. he's also got light up gold sneakers, obsessed, and in the close up you get a look at his gold & green cats eye glasses and green lipstick.

okay i think! i've covered all of the main looks, or at least everything that i could find reasonably clear images of. iirc seymour did have a leather jacket for the scene where he's trying to make himself more like orin because he thinks audrey will like that, but i couldn't find any photos.

Omg thank you!!! I wish I can show you a screen recording but I deleted it for that file because the whole file size got too big (100+ mbs) and the lag was insane… but I do have process!

1. Brainstorming composition. I initially wanted to draw a city wedding scene moments before they are swallowed by a tsunami so my initial draft is towards that direction.. But then I also wanted the environment to be a bit darker (cloudy skies or hanging onto the embers of sunset) and since the main component of this picture is the couple (there are very little space left to fit the tsunami/sunset/cityscape), I just scrapped the tsunami part… I really want to convey a conflict in feelings in the couple, 🔥/girl in the suit is melancholy and leaning into 🚬/the girl in the wedding dress for support, while 🚬 does not care about the end of the world! She lives in the moment in a nonchalant nihilistic way. Also I like the idea of the ‘groom’ finding support in the ‘bride’ … it’s another way to reflect 🔥 and 🚬’s younger stoic, active but doubtful protagonist/older jaded passive mentor figure (whose also dead but not really) dynamic 👍👍

2. Color draft and more finalized sketch. After I got the composition down I began figuring out the colors and finalizing the sketch especially for the buildings. I gathered a lot of references of photos and illustrations and put them on VizRef (iPad app) into a reference board to have it beside my canvas while I draw. (My face ref for 🚬/Salome/wedding dress girl is Elysia Crampton, I like her face a lot)

3. Rendering on top of the finalized sketch… just fuckin do it man… I mainly used a hard round brush for this piece and used the side sliders to control size and opacity (I like it to have size/opacity-pen pressure variations but NOT A LOT!! My hands will hurt 🤕) I switch up brushes a lot but these are the brushes I use most often for rendering in the style of this piece… 🔥 looks way more miserable than after I changed her expression …she’s like the crying cat meme 😭😭

4. Curves and gradient maps!!! Filters!! Wahoo.. After I rendered 95% of it I thought the colors are kinda too boring to look at .. so I fucked around in gradient maps layer modes and curves to try to introduce more hues to the picture… I also check the colors with a grey layer ( as u can see instead of being just monochrome on the purple/blue hues there’s yellow in the sunset/veil and pink in the faces!! Just put a grey layer on top and set the layer mode to Luminosity so every color appear at the same brightness and u can see their hue and saturation more clearly . I am very allergic to saturated colors 👴☠️. For the fourth pic I turned the saturation of the third pic way up so u can see the hue change)

👀: Describe their physical appearance in as much detail as possible. Facial features, colors, height, build, etc.

Gum is tall for a Githyanki, but his face is more oval than square. Similar to laezel he's more green/yellow than earthy or moon toned. His spots are raised and have a rougher texture, his eyes are the topaz shade that's both yellow and purple. He used to be extremely trim but post game he softens up a little bit even if he still is very lean.

👄: How do they talk? What's their vocabulary like? What does their voice sound like? Any accent, verbal tics, etc?

I imagine gith would have an accent speaking common, but he still uses the little tone indicators when annoyed (tsk, chk). He doesn't talk a lot early on so his voice is a little rougher, but the more he warms up he talks more. I genuinely love the voice I picked for him in game so that's his voice in my head.

👃: Do they smell like anything in particular? Why do they smell like that?

This is so funny because I couldn't determine what his scent pallet would be like. The low handing fruit would be yo pick leather since the Githyanki underwear is the strapping but like. I think overall if I had to pick like a candle scent maybe something smokey? Tho I associate Gale with sandalwood so maybe that runs off onto him.

💒: How does your character feel about marriage? Have their feelings on marriage ever changed?

Gum comes from a background where there's no like formal courting or exclusivity. He doesn't understand marriage but he did accept gales proposal and after lots of questioning to Morena (and astarion, and withers, and Tara, ect.) I think he'd try very hard to like understand what marriage means to gale so ge can better understand its significance.

🥰: Who do they currently consider to be their best friend and why? Has their best friend changed over time?

Astarion is his first friend on paper and Gum values him a lot. But additionally even if he bumps heads with Laezel, she's also still a very important person in his life too. Both of them despite being his exes are still very involved with him as friends. Prior to being kidnapped, gum had no friends 😭
