Gotta say, I'm not usually into the magical it-girl main character trope, but violet sorrengail kind of slaps? She wants desperately to be a nerd, but her mom forces her into jock school? She can handle a knife like it's nobody's business, she has chronic illnesses, everyone in the story would either die for her or wants to kill her or both (looking at you Xaden...I'm not very far but I'm getting the vibes). She nearly cuts the balls off her bully, she gives her special boots up to save the life of a girl she literally just met, she poisons her classmates so she can win fights. She knows the world is basically out to kill her and has accepted that she will die young, but also refuses to go quietly. Like, Violet Sorrengail will absolutely rage, rage against the dying of the light. Idk man, normally I'm like, "why do people actually like this girl" when it comes to the main character in fantasy stories, but Violet Sorrengail has it.

Just realized something; you know how Edelstans will say that so-and-so suffered because of their Crest/Crest family? And that's why Edelgard HAD to go to war? Isn't it the case that the overwhelming majority of Fodlan... DON'T have Crests? Or are otherwise unrelated to them? And it's not even a universal truth that everyone with a Crests suffers any trouble at all because of them. So according to these people, Edelgard is declaring war on behalf of a fraction of a fraction of Fodlan's populace - most of whom are otherwise SUPER privileged.
