I’ve gone on and on about how Leo wants to be who Splinter finds is the ideal person (which just so happens to be Splinter’s ideal version of himself) but I have yet to really touch upon how Donnie is the one who most directly parallels Splinter himself to an honestly shocking degree, Raph’s taking from Splinter’s teachings and parenting has resulted in an unhealthy mixup in the different dynamics of a family versus a team, and Mikey is the one who is simultaneously the most focused on family and the most intrinsically himself which both leads to his better grasp of mystics and honestly what just might be the healthiest dynamic with Splinter.
#rottmnt#rise of the teenage mutant ninja turtles#rottmnt headcanons#it’s late so I’m just speaking from the top of my head haha#anyway yeah#the Donnie Splinter parallels are crazyyy tho#I always see ppl say Leo is just like splinter but no Leo WANTS to be like splinter but he’s more a Karai#meanwhile Donnie exhibits many of Splinter’s traits and behaviors#basically Leo has taken on many perceived Lou Jitsu attributes#including his stance his most flaunted skills and his overall demeanor#while honestly being more of a quiet and determined soul at his core that is most like Karai - with the same hope and love for family#we see the more Karai aspects of Leo throughout the series but most blatantly with Future Leo’s portrayal and how Casey Jr talks about him#Donnie though - rather than Lou Jitsu he has many Hamato Yoshi attributes#it’s funny too because Donnie ALSO parallels Draxum in many ways#(you know who else does albeit to a much lighter extent? Mikey)#make no mistake I super wanna get into Raph having a hard time separating team and family and just sorta jumbling them together#but that mindset can be unhealthy!#SHOULD I GET INTO HOW RAPH ALSO PARALLELS HAMATO SHO IN SOME WAYS AS WELL AS ATSUKO#not to mention his direct parallels to OROKU SAKI HIMSELF#and Mikey - I actuallly have a touched briefly upon how his individuality and sense of self has led to his greater control of mystics#but I do think it’s interesting that he has arguably a more healthy relationship with splinter than the others as well?#idk it’s late#and I may be talking about nonsense BUT#I gotta stop here bc I’m very sleepy but I’ll probably be back in these tags rambling more later lol#would just like to add that splinter loves them all very much he is just a flawed and depressed man with a lot of untapped trauma#which unfortunately ends up affecting his boys to different degrees

Something that I’ve been wondering about is whether or not the Krang know what Yokai are
Tumblr media
Krang Prime: You’re not human. What are you?
When the Krang capture Raph something that was kind of interesting was the Krang wondering what Raph was since they recognised that he wasn’t human but something I was wondering about was why they didn’t assume that Raph was a Yokai instead.
Tumblr media
Draxum: My plan is coming to fruition. My bugs are hard at work turning humans into Yokai
It’s been shown in Rise that there isn’t really much difference between mutants & Yokai and the Rise team have said that mutants are basically more or less, enhanced Yokai so if there isn’t much difference between mutants & Yokai, part of me wonders why the Krang didn’t ask Raph if he was a Yokai.
Tumblr media
Big Mama: We Yokai have existed for thousands of eons
Tumblr media
Krang Prime: Forgive my sister. She’s got a bit of a temper and being in prison for a thousand years hasn’t done her any favours
In the episode Bug Busters, Big Mama says that the Yokai have existed for ‘thousands of eons’ & considering that the Krang say that they were sealed for only a thousand years, unless time moves considerably slower in the Prison Dimension, Big Mama was most likely exaggerating or otherwise the Krang should recognise what Yokai are.
Tumblr media
Something that might be possible is the idea that the Krang themselves created the Yokai as during the final episode of Rise we found out that Empyrean originally came from the Krang & the Rise team have said that Empyrean is the source of the Yokai’s mystic powers
Tumblr media
Draxum: So nice of you to return my vile
Considering that the vile that Draxum took from Mayhem in the first episode to finish his ooze is said to be Empyrean it’s possible that Empyrean was the original Mutagen in the Rise universe & was what created the Yokai in the first place when the Krang first invaded meaning that the Yokai that we know of in Rise are descendants of the first mutants.
There are a few similarities between Rise & the 2012 cartoon due to a lot of the same people who worked on the 2012 cartoon also working on Rise so it is possible that another similarity between the 2012 cartoon & Rise is that mutants or Yokai are just as much a product of the Krang in Rise as they are in the 2012 Cartoon.
But I don’t think that the Yokai were created by the Krang that got sealed away in the Prison Dimension, I kind of think that the Yokai were created by the Krang that got left behind.
Tumblr media
Karai: Oroku Saki made a deal with a powerful oni, this demon offered him a suit of dark armour
It is possible that not all the Krang were sealed away & that there was at least one Krang left on earth when the Krang were sealed away the first time as in the episode Shreddy or Not it’s revealed that the Dark Armour was originally created by the Krang (which would explain why the Foot Clan is said to worship the Krang in the first place).
Though we don’t know when exactly the Krang made a deal with Oroku Saki we do know that Karai & the Shredder were sealed away for 500 years.
Tumblr media
Casey: Master Shredder you have returned to us, after five hundred years the Foot Clan can finally fulfil our mission and do your dark bidding!
Tumblr media
Karai: Please I have just endured five hundred years of misery
Considering that the Krang were said to have been sealed away for 1000 years they should have been sealed away 500 years before Karai & Shredder were meaning that either time moves faster in the prison dimension making the Krang experience being imprisoned for 1000 years when really it was only around 500 or not all the Krang were sealed away.
Tumblr media
If at least one Krang had been left behind on earth after the Krang were originally sealed away that would possibly be kind of an interesting parallel to how there is at least one Krang left on Earth after the Hamato Clan seals Krang Prime away at the end of the movie.
If there was at least one Krang left behind on Earth then it is possible that the Krang that got left behind could have possibly created the Yokai & if the Yokai were created after most of the Krang were sealed away then it is possible that the Krang that we see in the movie might not really have any idea what Yokai or mutants are.

How did the turtles become villains in your villainess brothers au?
Buckle up time for some lore >:D
Admittedly however, I’m still working on it, so what I’m about to write can change over time, other than that enjoy my infodump
————
It’s actually not a matter of the turtles starting as good guys and ending up as villains, they’re the villains of the story to begin with
How so tho?
Let’s say the Krang didn’t stop at corrupting Oroku Saki
Karai’s story is pretty much the same, of her starting her own clan and calling it the Hamato clan, she banishes Shredder and herself to the twilight realm
That however leaves the rest hopeless, an opening the krang took to strike to corrupt them as well, so instead of the Hamato becoming a clan of Honor that keeps watch for the Shredder and keep peace, they’ve technically become another Foot clan that seeks destruction
So while Splinter’s story is mostly the same, he gets raised under completely different circumstances, instead of being raised to defeat Shredder one day, he’s taught that Shredder could become a valuable ally if released, or their enemy that they should destroy, and by extent destroy the Foot with him, whichever Shredder chooses (if you’re not with me you’re against me mindset between the Hamatos and the Foot)
Splinter story is pretty much the same afterwards, he becomes a star, gets kidnapped by Big Mama then Draxum, sees the turtles and his hearts warms up to them, immediately adopting them, eventually leading to his and the Turtles’ mutation
He raises the turtles the same way he’s raised, still a loving father, but not a great role model or a great teacher when it comes to what’s morally correct or wrong, and with Draxum’s genetic engineering of them to eventually become warriors, and their situation of being mutants, as well as the fact Big Mama is still out there, Splinter taught them to do what it takes to protect each other even if it means taking the lives of others
Teaching them that only the strong remains, and that subconsciously makes the turtles’ outlook towards life and the world negative, that the world is out to get them, so they should be out to get the world first, that eventually leads to their moral values to mush and the line of what’s good/bad or right/wrong very fuzzy to them
That obviously influences their personalities in negative ways, hence why Mikey is a lot more aggressive and openly angry for example
Cause to them? As long as they keep each other safe/ happy and get what they need/ want, then there’s nothing more they care to do
In short, the Krang may have lost the battle but they won the war
———
Anyway I’m actually pretty happy someone asked about my villainous brothers au so as a thank u here’s these sketches I made a while back that I haven’t at all shared
I actually really adore this au 😔❤️🌷✨

31DOD Day 23
Hear me out. So we've all seen the Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comic
Tumblr media
But Dick Grayson has never been too involved with these events. Some of you may even know who Karai is, and I'm not talking about 2012 Karai who was Splinter's long lost daughter kidnapped by the foot or 2018 Karai who was a sweet grandma. I'm talking about the IDW 2011 comic book Karai.
Imagine this, Dick Grayson as Batman with his Robin the prickly Damian we know and love. Now, we know that Damian's grandfather, Ra's al Ghul, is an immortal leader of an assassin clan that bathes in mountain dew to maintain his flesh or whatever. And then Damian is searching for a nobler way through working with Dick!bats to make up for his past mistakes with the LOA.
Now enter Karai, the granddaughter of Oroku Saki, AKA the Shredder, who in the IDW version was the leader of the Foot Clan in feudal Japan. Shredder was then pickled in some sort of demonic juice until modern day where he was brought back to life so he could take over New York and have sex with his sexy immortal fox girlfriend. Sound familiar?
Here's Karai using her blood to bring back her pickled grandpappy in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Secret History of the Foot Clan #4
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Batman (1940) #243
Tumblr media
I'm mean look at this loser getting it on in his mountain dew.
Anyway, so Dick is Batman and Damian is Robin and Karai ends up in in their universe somehow. Now Dick is dealing with two grandchildren who were raised to be assassins. I just think it would be real funny.
In Batman Unlimited, Damian ends up taking over the League of an Assassins. Karai ends up taking over the foot clan. I think they would get along in the strangest passive aggressive but also polite way. Then Dick is there being the responsible one keeping them from committing crazy murder. He would probably end up fighting Ra's again which I always enjoy:
Nightwing (1996) #152
Tumblr media
I want more of Dick kicking this crusty dudes ass.
I think this would give him a chance to eldest daughter syndrome it up with Leo as well as trauma bond over the fact that there are crazy assassin psychos out there obsessed with controlling their brains.
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (2011) #29
Tumblr media
Lookit my poor baby who can barely recognize his own brother after trying to murder him. Ring any bells with Dick Grayson?
The IDW TMNT comics are pretty darn violent. Not for kids my friends.
Unrelated, sort of, but people are always trying to compare the robins with the four turtles. They always say that 3/4 is good enough but I think they are missing the obvious solution here. Stephanie Brown is a Michaelangelo. I think they would be fast friends! Stephanie is a robin too so she should get to hang with the turtles.
I think Damian would get along with Jennika though :)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
They are both sweethearts.

It occured to me that I should probably post a picture of the goobers I entered in the goober comp. So have my babies, the siblings ever. The are in the same au btw, I just don't have an official name for it so they're labeled by their defining factors.
Tumblr media
Raised by the Foot Casey Jones:
Casey has been in the Foot as long as he can remember, training along side the Master's daughter. Raised as Cassandra, he trained at the same time as Oroku Karai due them being similar ages though he only saw her occasionally as he was in the New York lair and Karai lived in Japan with her Father. As he grew up, he realized he just wanted to be Casey, but no one accepted that. The Lieutenant told him he was confused, he was girl and that's what he'd always be. At 15 he had grown to hate it, the Foot's motives, the way he was forced to wear the female uniform, all of it. So he started leaving, seeking time away. He finds an empty watertower on a roof miles away from the Foot's lair After about year of doing he starts hearing whispers throughout the Foot of strange men in suits roaming the streets. One day in the midst of April he goes out, and meets a girl, shorter than him but close to his age none the less. She introduces her in broken English as "Experiment A". Finding this "name" horrible Casey offers to give her a better one amd be her friend. She agrees.
Raised by the Kraang April O'Neil:
Experiment A doesn't remember the horrible day when the Kraang took her and killed her parents but she remembers everything afterwards. She was taken to the head, Kraang Prime, he was so cruel. The Kraang never respected her, always sticking needles in her and making her use her powers to the point she was pass out. At one point, after being trained for many years, they took her to a facility on Earth. It was apparently her home planet. She didn't like what her superiors were planning, so she started escaping. The Kraang scientists in the lab never paid her any attention so snuck out and watched the humans. They didn't have a pink tinge to their akin of tendrils on their head like she did. Nor did they have teeth or nails as sharp as her. Experiment A didn't understand them, everytime she tried to say hello they screamed, called her a freak. So she stayed away, just watching and learning. Then one particularly chilly day, she met a human boy. He didn't scream at her, or call her a freak. He offered to take care of her, and give her a real name like his. His name was Casey, she thought it suited him.
~~
After their meeting both began meeting up on the same rooftop they met. Casey found a new name for Experiment A. "April", after the month he met her and it started with an A, so it wasn't too much of an adjustment for her.
They've only known eachother for about five months now. Casey gives April all his old feminine clothes to wear(she insists his are better than new clothes, they smell like him apparently and scent is important to her) and April helps him steal masculine clothes. Casey teaches April English, though getting her to spell correctly is difficult, and he showed her around New York City and gave her anything he could afford. April was never needed at the lab(Kraang Prime would make it known if he needed her) so she was always at the water tower, filling it with old blankets and pillows, stolen clothes and books. She makes it feel like home.
They have yet to officially meet their version of the turtles so the Hamatos aren't important right now. But they meet them soon.
Thanks for reading! I appreciate reblogs and thoughts on this!
(I'll go ahead and tag the comp since I posted this cause of it. @goobersforlife)

Small opinion I had while showering: It could have been better if maybe they established Tiger Claw starting to see Shredder as a father figure or the closest person he can to a parental figure. Since Shredder took him in and gave him a place to stay and seems to have some kind of favoritism towards Tiger Claw. So him bringing Shredder back to life would make a bit more sense I guess?? Or even better, bring in Kitsune from the IDW comics. Something I decided to rewrite regarding the Kavaxas arc is that we finally get introduced to Kitsune. In IDW she works for the Shredder so her story is somewhat similar to the one in my version. She is a loyal helper and long time friend of Oroku Saki who also has various abilities and powers she obtained over the years. So she finds out about what happened to him and decides to avenge him and bring him back to life. I'm still working on her character but uhhhhh- seeing the crap she has done to Leo and the others in the comics, she is VERY unhinged in my 2012 version of her, is the lightest way I can put it- and to establish more of how unhinged she is and a terrible person in general and would definetely top some characters in the Pure Evil characters wiki she causes some of the worst psychological, mental, physical and emotional damage to the gang. Idk, just something I wanted to share with someone because I'm pretty passionate about my version of Kitsune in 2012- Wait that sounds like I love her for the damage she causes to the characters and all of the horrible things in general she has done... Yeah I love me some very deranged characters! ^^
I already have my own version of 2012!
Tumblr media
I've talked about her a little bit on here, but basically she is Shinigami's mother and old friends with Splinter, Shredder and Tang Shen. As kids and teenagers they are a team, always hanging out together, but Kitsune left the group and did her own thing after getting sick and tired of Yoshi and Saki's rivalry. (note: she left before Shen married Yoshi)
Years later she has a fling which results in her being pregnant. The father of her child abandoned her so she raised her daughter, Shinigami, on her own (with the help of her mother aka Shini’s grandmother). Kitsune is a master of the dark arts and witchcraft, and she taught everything she knows to her little girl. Eventually, when Shini was around 7 years old, Kitsune reunited with Shredder and he offered for her and her daughter to join the Foot Clan. However, Kitsune is smart and a tricky woman. She knows Shredder only sees her and her daughter as pawns in his game, but she's willing to play along. That's what makes the game fun, right? The game gets even more fun when she meets Karai. Kitsune knows the truth that Karai is not Shredder's daughter as he claims. Ever since she first met Karai as a young girl, she knew just from a glance that she is Yoshi's child. Should she tell her? No. It would be more fun for Karai to figure it out on her own.
My favorite thing about my version of Kitsune though is her dynamic with Splinter. I'd say it's playful platonic flirtation. Kitsune constantly teasingly flirts with Splinter, which makes him uncomfortable. She does it out of her entertainment. She's not interested in him romantically, but the reaction Yoshi makes when he thinks she is is HILARIOUS to Kitsune.

Ghosts of Our Days - Chapter Eleven
Ao3

Next ->
Chapter Eleven: Two's a Company, Three is a Crime
TW: Homophobic language and semi-graphic descriptions of murder.
A/N: Co-written with @theosb0rnway :)
Casey Jones never took the day off, that was a fact set deep in stone. If evil never slept, then neither did she, but this was different.
He needed a day to process the idea that his boyfriend was not just a corpse in an icy coffin, but a being, a SPIRIT, that only Casey could see. He slept mostly, residing on top of the ice box while Raph watched her from afar, hesitant to make a move and not wanting to scare or piss off his lover. He didn't want to be double dead.
The next day was far more productive, and Casey seemed to be in a much better mood after his almost day-long rest. The duo sat at the little coffee table in the middle of the room, Casey writing down ideas for his next moves against Shredder while Raph played with his ghostly sais.
Who knew that whatever you had on your person also went with you to the next life? Raph didn't know much, or used to care much, about death, thinking he was some invincible force that even when battling Oroku Saki as Super Shredder could not be defeated, but now, here he was, thoroughly defeated.
He was dead, and he was spiritually attached to the prettiest lunatic on planet Earth whose only current goal was to kill Super Shredder, not something normal like taking a shower or eating a meal that wasn't packaged. It was an issue, sure, but then again, to Hamato Raphael, Casey Jones was the definition of putting the 'hot' in psychotic.
Said hot lunatic was actually being productive, scribbling some ideas down that Raphael surprisingly approved of.
Ways to get that bastard's attention:
Don't? Nah, that's no fun
Bomb the old mansion
Karai?
Take down Tiger Face
Fish Face
Wolf Dude
Beat the shit outta Hun!
There was a giant scribbled star by the last one, making it officially Casey's favorite choice, despite it loosely having to deal with Shredder. Off to the side, there were little drawings of Casey using various weapons to kill Shredder and his Foot goons, which Raphael tried to ignore as best he could. Then something else popped into the scheming vigilante's mind, a way to get not only Shredder's attention, but the entire city's. A way to make himself truly known. It was a... different idea, but Casey knew she had to throw it out there. For all he knew, Raph might actually like it.
"Hey, Raphie?"
"Yeah, babe?"
"...What 'bout goin' after a cop?"
"A cop?" Raph didn't seem angry, which was a good sign.
"Yeah! Get us actual attention from all the cameras and reporters and shit cause killin' the Foot ain't doin' nothin'."
"Wait, you wanna... kill a cop?" Casey looked at Raph like the answer was the most obvious thing in the world, which it was.
"Duh! Hurting one won't do anything!"
"Casey, I agree that it'll get us the attention we need, but if we do that, it's gonna get us attention from EVERYWHERE. We're gonna have to be way more careful about what we do and how we're see- how you're seen."
"So you're... not mad?" Is that really what Casey was focused on right now?
"'Course I'm not mad, Case! Cops are assholes-"
"Damn right!"
"But we also gotta focus on keeping you safe. I know you can pull off the job, but the hardest part is making sure whatever they send after you doesn't find you."
"I can handle it, Raphie. I hate you always rainin' on my parade, sayin' I can't do things like you can. Not like this is my first time dealing with pigs."
"I'm not 'raining on your parade', babe, I'm just scared you can't do this by yourself."
"Casey Jones wo-"
"I know, I know! 'Casey Jones works better alone', but you can't work at all if you're caught, or worse, killed!" Casey sighed, but from behind her mask, he looked like he was in thought, chewing at her bottom lip.
"Alright, I'll listen to you, just this once. So whaddya think I should do after I off the guy? Or lady? Or... what's a word for not a dude or a girl?"
Raph did a facepalm. "It's just a cop, Case, Jesus Christ."
"Yeah, you're right. But what should I do after I off the pig?"
"Lay low. Before you do it, we should go out one last time for food and supplies, stuff that'll last us at least a month or so."
"A month? Hope they got those dumb little number puzzles at the store cause I'm gonna need 'em."
"Sudokus, and yeah. Ya know ya' got me too, babe."
"I know, but now that I can't pin ya down, I've gotta find other ways to keep busy."
Raph swore he could hear Casey smirk and blushed a little, not that he could tell.
"I'm gonna need paint too, and I might... I'm gonna try to stop by my place, get clothes, money stash, firepower, all that."
"Alright."
"Raph?"
"Yeah?"
"...C-Can I let her see me? She's good at keepin' secrets, she doesn't know 'bout what we do, there's no way they could tie me to her if we're careful-"
"Yeah. Tell her Mr. Turtle says he loves her, okay?" "Course, baby. I know she loves you too, a lot. Oh god, she has no idea that you-"
Raph put a hand on Casey's shoulder and grimaced at her natural flinch. "Sorry. Look, don't tell her, it'll break her little heart and nobody wants that."
"I wasn't going to, I'm not gonna hurt my baby sis like that, she's everything I've got left! A-and I left her all alone with Arnold... oh FUCK ME!" Casey slammed her fist down on the table and Raph could hear her crying underneath the mask.
"It'll be okay, Case, I promise."
"Will it though?"
"If we get it done right, yeah. It'll be fuckin awesome."
"You promise?"
"I promise, dumbass."
"Thanks, Raphie boy."
"No problem, Casey baby." Raph put his arms around Casey, and even though she couldn't exactly do the same, he still tried his best. Casey broke the "hug" standing up slowly and stretching herself out.
"Ugh! That fuckin table's so low, it's more of a pain in my back than Donnie!" Raph snorted, standing up through the table.
"So where to, master planner?
"First thing's first!" She smiled through the mask, "I need the rest my gear." It seems Raph had more experience breaking into Casey's house than she did, knowing how to climb onto the ledge and unlock the window so they could slip inside. Casey's room hadn't changed one bit, if you don't count the smell being fifty times worse. Given that it was 1 am, Arnold was fast asleep on the couch, and poor Angel was in the room right next to Casey's, no doubt breathing in that godawful smell and wondering when her brother would come back.
Casey opened the door to the living room, sneaking quietly past Arnold and into Angel's room. He closed the door behind her, softly speed walking over to her little sister's bed. "Angel?" He ran a gloved hand through her hair and watched as the young girl opened her eyes. She seemed scared, and Casey realized it was because of the mask. "It's me, Ange, it's me!" He flipped the mask up to show off his real face for the first time in months. No paint, no skulls, no nothing, just Casey Jones.
"CA'EY!" Angel whisper-screamed, getting up and jumping into her brother's arms for a hug.
"Shhh! Gotta be quiet, lil sis! Don't want Dad to hear me, kay?" The girl nodded, a huge grin still stuck on her face.
"I miss you, Ca'ey! Miss you lot!"
"Me too, Angel, me too." He started to cry, Angel's grin dropping as she heard her sister start to sob.
"Why you cryin', Ca'ey? Don' be sad!"
"I'm not sad, I'm happy! I'm cryin' cause I love you, kiddo. I'm so sorry I left you here, I didn't want to, I didn't mean to, you don't deserve this!"
They stayed like that for another few minutes, hugging while Casey cried, before Angel asked, "Where you go, big bro? Can I come too?"
Casey shook his head. "No way. Casey had to go somewhere far away to keep you safe, and I gotta go back again until I'm done with my job."
"Wha' job, Ca'ey?"
"Somebody hurt me really bad and so I'm gonna hurt them really bad too. Remember how I taught you that? If somebody hurts you-"
"You hurt ‘em too!"
"Exactly! That's exactly right, baby sis!"
Angel giggled, smiling up at her big sister. "When you gonna come back?"
"Soon, Angie, soon. I promise. I'll be back as soon as I can be and then I'll never leave again! I pinky swear!"
"You pinky swear?"
"Always." They locked pinkies and bumped foreheads, making Casey's promise something he could no longer break, not that she ever intended to break it.
"Ca'ey? Where's Mista Turtle?" Casey's breath hitched and he quickly looked behind him to see Raph standing there, silently staring at him and nodding.
"He's... he's back at my safe place, he's doin' alright. Want me to say hi to him for ya?"
"Yeah! Mista Turtle gonna come back too, Ca'ey?"
"Of course he is! We're both gonna come back as soon as we can!" He hated lying to Angel about that, but it was the best he could do for now. He couldn't bear to ever tell her the truth, it was too much.
"He told me to tell you that he loves you VERY much and that he misses your stupid tea parties."
"They're not stupid!"
"Hey, tell that to him, not me! I love 'em!"
"Yay! And I love YOU Ca'ey!"
"Me too, lil sis." He paused. "Hey, Angel? You gotta promise me something now, alright?"
"What is it, Ca'ey?" She bounced up and down on her bed with excitement.
"If you see me on the TV, or hear about me from the bad people in blue, you CAN NOT tell them anything about me, okay baby sis?"
Angel nodded seriously. "Ca'ey in trouble?"
"Big BIG trouble."
"Uh oh! I keep Ca'ey safe from evil people! I help you, big bro!"
Casey smiled, a fresh wave of tears dripping down his face. "Thank you SO much, Angel, I love you, okay baby?"
"I love you too Ca'ey! So SO SO SO MUCH!"
"You go back to sleep now, okay?"
"Okay... Are you gonna sleep too, Ca'ey?"
"In a little bit, yeah. I gotta do a few things first, but then I'm gonna go back and get some sleep with Mr. Turtle!"
"Yay! Casey look sleepy, Casey need sleep!"
"I will, Ange, I will. Can you go back to sleep okay or you need me here for a bit?"
"Can Ca'ey stay?"
"Of course. I'll always stay for you, Angel Jones." He sat down next to the bed as Angel tucked herself into the covers.
"Love you, Ca'ey..."
"Love you too, Angel." It took Angel about three minutes to fall asleep with Casey rubbing her back. The vigilante stood up, slipped his mask back on, and walked back into his own room, Raph following quickly behind her.
"Ya gonna get some sleep now, Case?"
"No. Gotta do a few more things."
"You heard Angel-"
"What she doesn't know won't hurt her."
He grabbed a giant plastic bag from the corner of the room and started cleaning everything out. All the rotting food was thrown out the window, the clothes and weapons stuffed into a bag, posters yanked off the walls and shoved in as well. By the time the bag was full, the room looked like it had barely been occupied.
"Let's go, Raphie. We got what we came for."
"Whatever you say, Case."
The duo made their separate jumps out the window and fled into the night. Now all they needed was just to get the rest of the supplies for the murder. Ah, Walmart.
The place where you can go at 2 am and nobody, nobody, notices you, no matter how out of the ordinary you look. At least, the security doesn't notice. If Casey got a few odd looks from some equally creepy old ladies, she sure didn't give a flying fuck about it.
As she picked out the biggest package of Sour Patch Kids he could find and put it in her basket, he noticed a little girl staring at him from behind her father's leg at the other end of the aisle.
He wondered why the hell a little girl was in Walmart at 2 am, but once again, it was none of his business. He smiled and gave her a little wave, watching her gasp and wave back.
"Casey, you don't need that."
"Bite me, Raphie." He muttered under her breath. He walked past the little girl and gave her a wink from under the mask, smiling as she heard her talking to her very disinterested father.
"Daddy! Daddy! The boy with the cool mask waved at me!"
"Uh huh. Whatever you say, sweetie."
Casey loved being herself. As she suspected, even with her blood covered clothes and dirtied skull mask, the dead eyed cashier didn't even seem to notice him. He'd just bought all the supplies for a molotov cocktail, homemade grenades, war paint, and some candy just for funsies and nobody cared!
Raph was right, stocking up on things before his next hit was totally paying off! Raph had been muttering to himself the whole time, Casey tuning him out as best she could. His negative attitude was totally burning a hole in his bad girl persona!
He forked over some of the money she stole from the Foot goons to the cashier, who gave him a dead-eyed stare and accepted the bills. Casey doubted she would have spared a second glance if Raph, in all his ghostiness, had been visible to others, not only a mutant turtle, but also a semi-transparent ghost. Then again, the lady did work in customer service at Walmart in New York, she figured not much would surprise this lady.
“Have a nice day– NIGHT! I meant night,” the cashier said, automatically course-correcting, eyes widening briefly as she blinked from the daze that must come with working such a long shift.
“You too,” Casey said as she accepted some bags and exited. A soft ‘whoosh’ of air hit his face as she stepped out of the sliding glass doors with as much vindication as one could when one stepped over a door threshold. Idly, he realized he should probably get her hands on a car. Or at least figure out some mode of transportation other than his own gear.
Shifting the bags into one hand as she walked into an alley, with Raph bobbing around her head, Casey fired his grappling hook.
It caught in a more stable part of the ladder, in contrast to the part of the ladder close to the ground, which was mangled and bent all out of shape.
Casey kept to the edge, so that he ascended in a vertical climb to her stomping grounds. She had to fire her grappling hook twice, the second time impaling deep the ceiling of the small room he and Raph resided in, only ascending again after three light tugs confirmed that the brick wasn’t about to cave, and send Casey to an early grave.
Any time before Oroku Saki’s grave was far too soon, she decided, spreading his newly bought wares on the floor. Investing in an actual table (or at least not a floor that was both freezing and almost definitely infested with any number of roaches and other bugs to make Raph die twice) wouldn’t be a bad idea either.
She dumped the bags down on the ground, grabbing the bag he'd taken from his home and setting it down next to the first one and sitting down on the ground next to the coffee table.
"C’mon Raphie! Don't be a stranger!" The turtle was hanging out towards the window, away from the short excuse for a table, slightly pissed that Casey had lied to Angel's face about getting a good night sleep.
He begrudgingly walked over, not wanting to deny his lover, almost there when his foot fell through the floor. He thought he'd fixed this already! The angry terrapin could hear Casey's cackle as he pulled his foot from the floor, a growl leaving his throat.
"Oh shut up." Casey stopped laughing for once, her face morphing into one of concern.
"You okay, Raph?" Uh oh. Not Raphie, just Raph. That meant he was serious, and serious Casey Jones could sometimes be a scarier creature than the angry, insane, or even pissed sides of Casey Jones.
"I'm fine, Case."
"Raph. I know you're lyin', knucklehead. What's going on?"
"Why'd you lie to Angel about sleeping?"
"I didn't!"
"Yeah, ya' clearly did!"
"No way, man! As soon as I kill a cop, I'm coming back here and we can sleep on the ice box together! The two of us! It's really comfy once ya get adjusted to it!" Raph shook his head.
At least Casey was serious about going to bed, that was a start. She still had a long way to go in terms of mental health, and if he was finally trying to get better, Raph wasn’t about to say no, even if it was sleeping on that godforsaken freezer box that his own fucking corpse was being kept in.
"Alright. I'll sleep on the fuckin’ death box." Casey glared.
"Don't call it that, asshole!"
"Hey, my body box, my choice." Casey looked confused for a moment before shrugging.
"I don't think the saying goes like that, but whatever, dude." Her face softened. "I'm sorry I yelled at you, Raphie. I didn't mean it, I promise."
"It's alright, Casey, I get it. You like it cause it's me in there, and you have your own way of coping. I should respect that. I DO respect it."
"Thanks. That um... means a lot, babe." Raph could see a hint of an actual, genuinely sweet Casey Jones smile, taking the moment to sit down next to him, cup her cheeks, and kiss him softly what would be her lips under the mask. Casey gasped before pressing her lips to the inside of the mask.
God, did he miss kissing Raph the normal way, pinning him against a wall, making out slowly until both of them were left breathless. She was pulled out of her thoughts as Raph broke the kiss, setting a pair of pants haphazardly on her lap. "Here." He pulled out a Sharpie too, and the older boy was impressed at how well he could hold it.
"Woah! You weren't kidding when you said you could hold shit, babe! Holy macaroni, you're good!"
They shared a laugh, Casey getting to work on redecorating the old pair of ratty gray jeans. Recreating his clothing took about an hour and a half, two Sharpies, a pair of scissors, half a braincell shared between them both, and an old burner phone playing Casey's "Battle Songs for Fucking Up Bitches" playlist.
Putting on the newly acquired corpse paint took them another hour, Casey insisting on putting the white paint on herself first before Raph saw his face. By the end of it, his entire face, ears, neck, and forearms were covered in elaborate designs Raph took his sweet time making and touching up. Casey put on the first pair of redesigned jeans, slipping on a black long sleeved shirt before adding his Insane Clown Posse "Hatchetman" shirt on top of that.
Her gear followed, then Raph with the bandana, and finally, the turtle lowered the skull mask over his love's face, finally readying her for the best part of the night.
"You look beautiful, Casey Jones."
"Thanks, Raphael Tomato."
"Hamato."
"Tomato, Hamato!" They let out a giggle before Casey started towards the door, taking the regular way out the building for once. It was time to go out and take down one of the worst threats to society.
It wasn't hard for her to find a cop car just sitting around on some random street far enough away from the hideout that he wouldn't be chased back. Casey smirked to himself seeing the guy eating a donut through the side window. She pulled out his spray can, shaking it, letting the black paint attach itself to the wall, starting her latest masterpiece. That ugly bastard in his car didn't like that at ALL.
He made the show of flashing his lights before hurriedly getting out of his car, cuffs in hand.
"Hey kid! Drop the can and put your hands in the air! You're under arrest for vandalizing private property!"
Casey continued to spray the paint, humming some random tune as he went.
"Hey! Kid! Can you hear me? Kid!"
"Oh, I heard you alright. I just don't listen to people as low in this world as you." He laughed. "I don't listen to assholes as evil as you."
"Kid, the only one doing evil is you." He walked over to Casey and grabbed him by his freshly painted arm, causing Casey to flinch and whip around, hitting the cop dead in the face with the spray can.
"Fuck off, grease-hands! My boyfriend just worked for two hours on that shit and I ain't lettin' a no good pig ruin all his hard work!"
The cop stumbled back, blood falling from his nose and mouth. "Alright, ya little faggot," he pulled out the gun from his holster. "No more Mr. Nice Guy."
Casey ducked as the shots fired, pulling out her own gun and shooting the cop in the leg. Unlike him, she never missed his targets. The cop screamed, falling to the ground as Casey pulled out his hockey stick.
"Aw! Looks like Mr. Not So Nice Guy couldn't even beat up a fag like me! So sad!"
The hockey stick swung down once, twice, five times, ten, until the pig was officially down on the ground. Then Casey pulled out a knife, relishing the look of horror on the cop's face as she stepped on top of him, kneeling on his chest and taking off her mask.
"I'm not even gonna lie, this is gonna fuckin hurt! Well, this is what you get for trying to arrest a lady just for makin' his art!" The cop looked mildly confused, but that was replaced by a wave of horror as the knife pressed against his skin.
Casey gave him a false sense of security for two seconds before lifting it up and slashing his throat with one solid motion.
"Go to hell, fag-" The cop choked out, his eyes wide as Casey watched the life slowly leave him.
"How's it feel be killed by a fag? Cause it sounds pretty good to me!" As his head finally met the street, Casey could hear cheering from above him, seeing Raph on the rooftop and waving.
"Look, Raphie! I did it!" He sounded like a kindergartener showing off their latest art project to their mom.
"I know! I'm so proud of you, babe! Now hurry up with that paint, will ya?"
Casey didn't waste another second, spreading the dead man's blood all over his gloved fingers and using it as a paint of its own. She alternated between spray can and blood, finishing up in a few minutes before going back to the cop and wiping the smeared corpse paint off his right hand. Raph smiled from above, so glad Casey remembered his rule about leaving no trace.
Before she left, Casey went over to the car, opening it with his not bloody hand, and grabbed the half eaten donut from on top of the middle console. She climbed up the ladder to where Raph was waiting, gazing down upon her finished masterpiece.
"It's perfect!"
"Is that really one you're going with?"
"Yeah, why?"
"Alright, I just didn't know you were gonna do it."
"But you like it?"
“Of course I like it, Case, I love it! Let's get outta here." They spend the whole way home singing and laughing, Casey reminding himself to wash the blood off her glove so that no one could trace that lowlife's murder back to him. Oh, it really was a good night after all.
Turtles POV
The news was the only thing played on the TV anymore, much to Mikey's dismay, but Donnie controlled the living room now, so the TV was technically in his domain.
The team was all piled up on the benches, sitting down to watch the 10 o'clock news like it was the newest superhero movie, popcorn, pizza, and all.
"This is Channel 5 news, I'm Theresa Merdir. Breaking news, cop murdered on 5th and Walnut, killer leaves behind a disturbing message to all. Warning, this story contains images of gore and violence. Viewer discretion is advised."
The group all looked at each other with worried expressions, save for Mikey who was focused solely on the TV. He gasped as the images were shown, many of the dead cop's wounds, but then they flipped to another chilling sight. Written on the cop's face in his own blood was: ‘Look up’, and the camera did exactly that, showing Casey's boldest artwork yet. April let out a gasp of her own. "Oh my god, Donnie, is that-''
Donnie looked equally horrified, he could only nod and whisper "It is."
In a combination of cop's blood and spray paint was Casey's signature hockey mask next to tall, bold graffiti letters that read one single bone chilling word: "Skullshot."

Okay— so!
I like the Oroku sibs thing you have going on it's just so sweet and aofnoenfoent
Idk if i havent seen it but is Raph the leader instead? Since i think it would fall on him without leo being there. What would his leadership be like? Wr know how his time being the leader ended up with, so how does he cope?
And if there's no leader, i just think they work together, with Raph callong the shots when it comes to fighting, Donnie caing the shots when it comes to important science stuff, and mikey calling the shots when it comes to interacting with new people.
ALSO ALSO SORRY FOR ASKING A LOT BUT
Would Karai still be a snake? Would Leo be thrown in the mutagen with her?
And What would the space arc look like? Would karai join in?
That's all, sorry if the asks the a lot rkfjt
Hello my friend! First off don't apologize for all the questions! I like answering them whenever I can and it's always nice to interact with everyone!! Second off sgsgsfsfsfsf I'm glad you're enjoying the Oroku siblings, they're literally are becoming my children at this point and it's just such a fun concept to play around with and knowing that others like em as well makes me super happy!! Now onwards to your questions-!!!!
Hmmm to be completely honest with you I've actually been thinking about the whole leader thing for this au and one of those thoughts for a possible leader was surprisingly enough Donnie. While I adore Raph to bits and pieces and he'd make a great leader, I also know that my boy is a passionate turtle who sometimes goes head first into things without really planning. And Mikey, while talented and a prodigy, can also be a bit spaced out and off the ball sometimes when it comes to leadership. Donnie on the other hand likes to plan things and when he's not completely stressed out he's pretty good in the strategy department. So going based on this logic if anything plus thinking about how Splinter chose Leo in the original series because of his quick thinking, he'd probably go with Donnie. That and personally I think it'd be an interesting idea to play around with since we've already seen Raph be the leader in Rise and in that one episode of 12. But I'm also thinking about just making all the boys have a say in leadership as well. Honestly it's got so many things that it could go and I'm just playing around with what would fit best! As for how he'd cope Raph would probably be very much like he was in the show only instead he'll be much more willing to intervene in Donnie's leadership role whenever he feels like something's not done right or he feels like his little brother is in need of guidance or assistance.
Ah yes Snake Karai! Honestly she'll still get turned into a snake mutant! It'll just be under different circumstances than the original ones in the show! I just have to figure it out better. I've got an idea of Karai getting caught by the Shredder to be used as a pawning chip to lure both Leo and Splinter out of hiding, only for it to not go according to his plans. I've got to plan it out more for it to make sense lol. It'd basically be an opening for Leo to bond with his original family and clan on a one on one type of ordeal, plus give him a chance to grow to be his own person away from Karai somewhat. Since Leo his entire life has been trained to be her bodyguard and in a way doesn't really feel like he has a sense of purpose other than to protect his older sister. Which is something that drives Karai nuts because she wants him to be able to feel like he has a choice in what his destiny should be instead of the lessons their ex master and father Shredder had drilled into him. Plus Karai's character growth would take place in the five months her little brother is in his coma since she's always been by her little brother's side since she was five and he was four.
As for the Space arc yes most definitely Karai would be joining the Hamato kids, April and Casey on their journey. Mainly to help protect Leo and her new little brothers as well as trying to save their father and planet. Basically wherever Leo goes, Karai is sure to follow and vice versa. It's one of the reasons why they're called the Princess of the Foot clan and the Shadow of the Foot clan because they're rarely seen without the other attached to their hip. And if it's something as dangerous as a journey to outer space with a android and several new alien species out there, you can bet that Big Sister Karai is definitely going to be tagging along with her little brother who seems to be a magnet for trouble on a good day. (That and the thought of letting Leo go alone on a journey like this fills Karai with a shit ton of anxiety. Because the last times Leo had been left alone without her had been when he was about six years old and had been seen by a villager who attacked him with field equipment giving him a nasty scar on his arm, and when he was about fifteen years old when the Shredder had beaten him to death and tried to drown him, resulting in a ruined knee, a wicked cracked scar on the back of his shell, a scarred and ruined throat and vocal chords and a five month coma. So she's pretty paranoid about leaving him alone during dangerous missions.)

My Opinion: The Last Ronin Changes
[Warning: TMNT: The Last Ronin spoilers and descriptions of gruesome and tragic deaths.]
What I would’ve changed about the deaths.
Don’t get me wrong. The Last Ronin is great, I loved it, and frankly, I think we need more of this content on the TMNT fandom (Speaking as a big Mikey fan here :D hehe).
And I’m not saying my take is better, just that it's what I would have done. Good? Good.
 Now to the thing:
 Raphael
I actually thought Raph was going to die this way. :D
Let Raphael's anger be his downfall. He throws his sai at Karai, hitting her chest or something, maybe almost impaling her, saying it was for his father (foreshadowing how Splinter would do the same for him with Oroku Hiroto in the future), before being engulfed by foot ninjas. Torturously being stabbed to death.
 After:
Now, the turtles think Karai is dead because of the call for peace of Oroku Hiroto, the new head of the clan. But she wasn’t dead, she was weak but alive, and furious about how they could put her aside for peace (in her point of view, the clan accepted a new leader so easily because they saw her as weak after being almost killed), and her son promptly took power, not telling her about his plan in Japan.
Karai makes a trap with Stockman. After Donnie and Splinter left, she send a message that his brother was still alive (make so they didn’t find a body, that they only found a lot of blood and his other sai).
They know it’s a trap, but they go anyway if there’s a chance to save their brother. This mission should take maybe two volumes, one for each death. Leonardo and Casey go (with some other people), while Michelangelo stays with April and Honeycutt in the lair.
  Leonardo
Simultaneously, Leonardo fights with Karai while Casey looks for Raphael in the abandoned building with the other people.
In Part One, Leonardo starts to win against Karai, but she came with the bomb that his brother is dead, that she killed him, and that his remains were thrown in the sewer water of the river, where it was his place.
Leonardo is shocked and Karai takes the chance to stab him (with her swords? with his swords? It could go either way with them losing and trading weapons). Leonardo stabs her in the back… with Raphael sai. Karai ends up in a coma just like the original and Leonardo dies just in time to hear an explosion.
 Casey Jones
Part Two. As Casey’s companions disappear one by one, he’s trying to find Raph in all those rooms and cells, and can barely realize that, while looking for his best friend, everyone around him is dying. He just fights some mousers and goes. Fight and Go. Fight and Go. Casey thinks he hears something, excited, he thinks it’s Raph’s voice. He encounters a room full of mousers, and they explode, leaving nothing behind.
(I don’t think Leo and Casey have that much of a connection, but uniting the two to die trying to find Raphael could make it much more interesting, in my opinion)
Stockman attacks the lair. The same thing happens. Honeycutt says he will never get him alive, and Stockman explodes the place. April is now in a little coma. Michelangelo is exploded away and thinks everyone is dead but tries to warn Leo and Casey about the trap, however, the building is already in flames. Mikey goes to Japan.
 Donatello
Everything happens the same, except, let Donatello save Master Splinter. Let him die atop of his father, shielding him. Let his body be unrecognizable because of so many arrows.
 Master Splinter
Mikey arrives in Japan with his father bedridden. Splinter thinks he is Donnie at first but discovers that everyone is dead. Let Splinter realize that because of his choice for peace, his choice to trust Oroku Hiroto, only one of his sons is left, they are all gone and Mikey will be completely alone. Because Splinter knows he’s not going to live, he knows he’ll die soon.
So, he makes Michelangelo promise him that he will live, he will survive, he will not die. He makes him promise before he passes away.
(Which makes it worse if you reread the first volume, that after so many years, Michelangelo can’t live alone anymore, can’t survive anymore after he failed, can’t maintain the promise he made for his father. So, he tries to end his life the most honorable way he knows how, with seppuku.)
I feel like a monster writing this :)

Something that I have kind of been thinking about is the Hamato Clan's tradition of self sacrifice & how it might have possibly started.
Tumblr media
Karai: No mortal weapon could defeat the Shredder so I resolved to make the ultimate sacrifice. Taking Shredder and myself into the Twilight realm.
The Hamato Clan's tradition of self sacrifice seems to have possibly originated with Karai when she sealed both herself & the Shredder in the Twilight realm with the rest of the Hamato Clan & Karai's descendants taking on a tradition of self sacrifice to protect the world, stop the Foot Clan & try to prevent the Shredder from ever returning.
Tumblr media
Karai:  Oroku Saki made a deal with a powerful oni. This demon offered him a suit of dark armor that would make him invincible but it came at a cost.
Something that I have seen a few people talk about however is that the tradition of self sacrifice might possibly not have been started by Karai but rather Oroku Saki, her father.
Tumblr media
Splinter: The Krang? I have heard that name. Powerful, barbaric creatures worshiped by the Foot Clan. Legend says they came from the stars.
Something that we learn in the Rise Movie is that the story of the Krang has been passed down in the Hamato Clan, possibly due to the fact that the Krang seem to be partly responsible for the creation of the Shredder but something that I am wondering about is if the story of the Krang was already being told before the Shredder's creation as the Krang were sealed away 500 years before the Shredder & Karai. It is possible that Oroku Saki knew what the Krang were & still made a deal with them for help in order to try to save his clan with Oroku Saki more or less sacrificing himself to have a chance at saving his clan.
Tumblr media
Leo: You're one to talk, big bro. Hero moves are totally your style.
Something that I have kind of been wondering about is if the Hamato Clan's tradition of self sacrifice is merely something that family members have learnt from each other by watching the ones they love try to sacrifice themselves & thinking it is something that they themselves should do for their clan & family. Karai saw her father sacrifice himself so she thought that sacrificing herself was the right thing to do & the cycle continued all the way until the Turtles.

Hey I've read one of your fanfic's on Archive on our own and I love the one where Rise Raphael is with the 2012 cast. I would like to give you a few ideas for the other chapters.
In the next chapter where he confronts the Karai of thier dimenssion 2012 Splinter explains his backstory to him about him,Tang Shen and Oroku Saki.
Tumblr media
The Shredder of their world while Rise Raph explains that in his world, Karai is his family's great great great great grandmother and Oroku saki's legitimate daughter by blood and that he was five times more dangerous.
When he meet's the April o neal and Casey jones of this dimmension he should be shocked that April's white and Casey's a dude!! which he explains that in his place April is black and casey's a female which makes the 2012 cast go WTF!! on Casey being a woman and Donnie asks him in secret if his Donnie in love with April but Rise Raph flat out says no and that they only see her as a Sister.
Oh and when he meets Tiger claw he should freak out since he's kinda hearing his father's voice from an enemy.
Then he finds out about 2012 Raph's pet Spike/Slash and why everyone's on edge when they speak to him since he resembles him way too much.
And if Rise Raph stays during the season 2 finale he should be the one fights off the krang and the foot clan by being his Savage self killing them one by one that not even TIger claw or Razhar could beat him. And of course Shredder still defeats him but the only difference should be that it take a lot longer to due Rise Raph's immense power and beserker like strengh and just like the 1990 movie it should be Raph that gets thrown out the window instead of Leo.
um. two things.
1. I already know what I'm planning for my story and the narrative arcs, I got this.
2.this literally just sounds like a jigsaw fic that you came up with and want me to write your ultimate jigsaw/tmnt fantasy. If you just want me to write a fanfic for pay me money. i may write for free, but my time aint free. Here's my ko-fi!

My Version of the Hamato Family
Hi everyone! Thank you for reading and liking part one. It made my day!
So, this is where I shine in writing. I love creating characters and their backstory; it’s so fun. I think it is more important to focus on characters than the plot since a character can create the storyline- well at least for me.
I’m excited to share! Hope you enjoy!
Comment your thoughts! It would be cool to read them! 😁
……………………..
Tumblr media
 Leonardo:
We’re starting with the usual leader-in-blue!
Although I adore Leo, his “perfect” personality can get a little boring. His versions usually have flaws, though they are the kind that makes you sympathize with him rather than feeling indifferent like with Raph’s anger issues.
Season 1 Leo would be a toned-down Rise Leo. He can be cocky when he succeeds over his brothers and would jokingly comment how he is Splinter’s favorite. However, it doesn’t come without hard work. Leo trains the most out of his brothers and spends most of his time studying fighting techniques. He is not naturally talented in ninjitsu like the past incarnations. Also, Leo’s motivations for training very hard and wanting to be leader is more for himself than anything.
Compared to his brothers, Leo was relatively average. Donnie was extremely smart, Mikey had his kind and joyful soul, and Raph was naturally a great fighter. Leo felt left out and decided that training to be a hero would be his way of standing out. He also believed that being special like his brothers was the only way to get Splinter’s attention; and it kind of worked. With all the progress Leo made, Splinter praised him, and they had a way to connect.
Around the beginning of S1(maybe ep. 5), Leo became the leader though how was different. Instead of Splinter deciding, the brothers did; the explanation was the turtles were a team and should make a consensus as one. This news made Leo ecstatic; he was finally living his dreams. Even so, he didn’t realize the baggage and responsibility a leader had to shoulder. Over the course of the story Leo grows as a great leader and fighter.
The Karai/Leo subplot will follow the 2003 version. He is convinced that Karai is a good person and tries to have her switch sides. There will be romantic feelings but its not the main motivation for both of their actions. I can’t say too much since this plot revolves around Karai more.
Tumblr media
   Donatello:
Donnie is a blend of 2003/12 versions. He is intelligent with an extremely high IQ and was a gifted child. However, his intelligence came with a cost; making connections with his brothers and father was really tough for him because of their different interests. This left him withdrawing from everyone and focusing on his inventions. His social skills evolve once the turtles visit the city and meet April. The increasing danger of the Kraang further builds his relationships since communication is important in teamwork, and Donnie’s talent in inventing grew more in the spotlight.
Because of her fascination with Donnie’s smarts and inventions, April and Donnie become good friends as the story continues. Donnie also gets close with April’s best friend, Irma since they are science lovers. At first, Casey irritates him as they have clearly different personality; Casey’s impulsive and extroverted attitude conflicting with Donnie’s plan-based mindset.
Donnie’s love for his family is showcased after witnessing a terrifying, apocalyptic future where his family suffers. Paranoia sets in. His work to calculate the cause of this terrible, and its solution leads Donnie to rarely take care of his needs. He has to learn to trust in others instead of doing things alone.
Tumblr media
 Raphael:
Unlike Leo, Raph is instantly gifted in fighting. He has more physical strength than his brothers and would constantly beat them in practice. Since childhood, Raph was Splinter’s “favorite” in the dojo and that definitely got into the red-banded turtle’s head. He would brag to his brothers and jokingly poke fun at their techniques. It wouldn’t affect anyone. Except for Leo.
Raphael’s ego started taking hits once Leo caught up to him and beating him in practice once in a while. It turned into anger after noticing Master Splinter praising Leo more. The tension soured their brotherhood. Unlike most versions, Raph’s anger is fueled by insecurity. He believes that fighting is the only thing he is good at and will get territorial if his spotlight is threatened.
Throughout the story, he learns to move on from his demons and realize his worth.
Family is important to Raph. He can be hard on his brothers yet will do anything to keep them safe, especially Mikey- his positivity must be protected. Casey and Raph become best friends for their similarities and love for fighting- they are impulsive bros.
Tumblr media
 Michelangelo:
Mikey’s role is to be the positive and glue of the team. He loves to make people happy and would always do something goofy or kind to do that. His family have nothing bad to say about their youngest member and are very protective of him. The youngest brother doesn’t take ninjitsu as seriously as skateboarding, dancing, or just general fun. Though, he will be serious when the situation calls for it, such as the fate of his family and the world.
Although being an open ear to anyone, Mikey is not open to expressing his negative emotions due to his fear of damaging the family dynamic. It is noticeable when he is upset because he jokes more often and not focus. A lesson he must learn is to accept the good and the bad. Mikey can be reckless, mostly when his brothers rarely let him participate in missions. He wants to prove to his family that he is strong enough to protect himself and others. Reading people is his best skill and takes great pride in it, usually taking on the role of a therapist.
Tumblr media
 Splinter/Hamato Yoshi:
I really wanted to take Splinter’s role in the Shredder’s descent to evil in the grayer area. He is usually the victim/innocent party of the story, which can get boring after a while.
Hamato Yoshi was born as the heir to Hamato Clan and childhood best friend of Oroku Saki. The Hamato and Foot clan were allies for centuries and would usually fight by each other’s side. Matters changed when the Foot’s beliefs grew more sinister. This left the Hamato Clan to eradicate their former ally. Splinter saved Saki before he could be killed, though, it came with consequences. Oroku Saki vowed to exact revenge for his fallen home. Growing up, Splinter became one of the strongest martial artists in Japan and married a woman named Tang Shen, later becoming a father to a girl. His world ended once he saw his clan destroyed and his family killed by the renewed Foot Clan.
Yoshi decided to move to New York and forget his old life. Years later, the martial artist noticed strange people caging defenseless animals. He would fight them long enough to protect four humanoid turtles, deciding to keep them after a moment of compassion. Splinter would continuously fight the strange men until a strange liquid turned him into a rat. This turning point banished Splinter and the turtles to the sewers for protection.
Splinter equally loves his sons. He would always make sure to give them equal amounts of love to avoid lasting issues. Though, he has made some mistakes. Emotions were rarely discussed because of Splinter’s unintentionally withdrawn attitude. The rat master wouldn’t instantly notice problems between his sons, and usually didn’t know how to resolve them. No matter what, Splinter is proud of his children and would do anything to keep them safe; sometimes not realizing that it could hurt them.
Hamato Yoshi’s guilt and trauma over the terrible moments in his life would be the main focus of his development.

BITCH, HONOUR DOESN'T DEMAND SHIT.
I'm sorry, I just watched this scene and I'm flabbergasted. If the writers were going to redeem Karai, they did a very poor job of it, I'm sorry to say.
Showing her inner conflict by having her help the turtles? Fine. Having her defy her lord and father in the name of honour? Fine. Babbling about honour said lord and father doesn't have and carrying on the legacy of a genocidal murderer she has SEEN do horrible shit her entire life? Not so fine.
Karai goes on about defending Oroku Saki's honour and I'm sitting here like BITCH, WHERE? Splinter counters by mentioning his Master Yoshi's murder by Saki, but honestly that doesn't even cover 1% of the dishonourable shit he's done.
Karai, you KNOW he has no honour, you saw him try to murder disarmed and unconscious opponents and you had to stop him because honour - for just one example! You literally stood there and listened to a tribunal condemn your master for the genocide of 9 BILLION PEOPLE, and your master DOESN'T EVEN DENY IT!
This scene comes after the first Shredder's exile, the one where a tribunal laid bare all his crimes, not even including the shit he did on earth - which Karai knows about - and Karai's like 'NANI?!' and 'LEO, THIS IS NOT WHAT I WANTED!'
BITCH, WHAT DO YOU WANT?
When mass genocide doesn't convince you that the guy you're following is literal scum, nothing will, and you're a lost cause, I'm sorry. You can only excuse/forgive denial so much. This woman took up the mantel of a genocidal tyrant who has caused SO MUCH MISERY and thinks that honour makes it right.
This hurts Leo's faith in her, IMO, and his constant attempts to redeem her or get out her good side, especially after this point, will just look like delusion. At this point, he really should just listen to Raph.
It reminds me of a scene in Samurai Champloo, where Jin - a ronin - confronts a the bodyguards of a corrupt governor about to execute a defenceless civilian, and the following conversation ensues.
Jin (to the bodyguards): To serve your lord and do his bidding, is that honourable?
Bodyguard: Of course it is!
Jin: Even when that lord is an unimportant piece of shit?
This made me think of Karai. When the lord she is defending is an unimportant piece of shit, there is no honour in defending him.
This is why I liked her and Leo's confrontation in the SAINW episode, where she spouts the same tired bs about 'Turn back, or you will force me to do that which my duty commands!'
This Karai both backs up and defends a tyrant who has SENT AN ENTIRE CITY'S POPULATION (THAT ARE STILL ALIVE) TO WORK LABOUR CAMPS AND TURNED NEW YORK INTO THE ONE STATE.
Leo's response is essentially, and very justifiably, BITCH CHOOSE A LANE, I'M GONNA KILL YOU!
Seriously, they could have done a much better job with Karai IMO.

Shredder’s Little Light Chapter 1
Twas a cold and drizzly night but all was not calm, and all was not bright.
Outside a small little house in the suburbs outside of Manhattan, the sounds of police car sirens, officers through walking talkies, ambulances with flashing lights, and a crowed of worried neighbors gathering around, filled the drizzly nighttime air. On the front porch, two officers dragged a heavily overweight, red haired man with his hands behind his back and strapped into handcuffs and two paramedic nurses off to the right pronouncing the woman off to the side of the front yard dead. She lay on a pool of her own blood and the nurse on the right covered the body over with a sheet.
On the porch of the house, a girl, who was no more than three and a half years old, stood and watched the whole scene evolve in horror and fear, a large and overstuffed white pillow case with pink flowers on it lay off on the side wall far from the tiny tot.
But, what the others didn’t take to note, that a large figure of a one-eyed tiger with six other figures stood at the rooftop of the house, watching everything that had taken place minutes ago.
Tiger Claw had been silent for a long time until he heard the sound of a child's small voice.
The tiger's ears perked up at the small voice and looked down to find the small girl on the verge of tears.
"Mama.." the little one called with a crack in her voice. She backed away in order to not be seen by the police or the paramedics until she bumped into one of the smaller figures. The little one let out a small gasp in surprise and the other smaller figures landed on the porch as well, one of them grabbing the overstuffed pillowcase and slinging it over its shoulder. Tiger Claw gently landed on the porch with the surrounding Foot Bots.
One of the Foot Bots had a stack of papers in it's hands and handed it to Tiger Claw. The big cat looked over the documents and his eye widened in shock at one point.
He looked back at the young girl and back at the documents.
The documents that contained the results of a DNA test taken months ago and underneath the section that said "Alleged Father" it read; Oroku Saki.
Tiger Claw knew very well that Oroku Saki was the real name of his master, the Shredder, and as the papers have stated, the Shredder was the child's biological father.
The giant cat turned to Aurora, the girl's name, and knelt down to her level.
Aurora's chartreuse orbs went slightly wide as the Bengal Tiger stepped into the light.
"No one is going to harm you little cub," Tiger Claw said taking off his neckscarf off and tying it around Aurora's neck, "You will be safe with me," he nodded gently.
Heartbroken, the tears that Aurora had been holding began to fall down her face. She sniffled and sobbed and trembled so much that she didn’t even notice that Tiger Claw had picked her up and held her close near his right shoulder.
"I… I want my mama!" Aurora exclaimed as Tiger Claw and the Foot Bots quietly snuck away from the old house in the semi-silence of the night.
Tiger Claw heard the loud sobs of Aurora that she was letting out into his cerulean shirt and felt bad for the poor girl. She lost her mother and the man who was supposingly her step-father was arrested for the murder of the woman according to what he heard from the police.
To comfort the child, he stroked her back and caressed her raven black hair that was tied up into two low pigtails supported by yellow hair ties with his paw.
He drew back slightly in order to lift Aurora’s chin, making her look directly into his eye as she sniffled. "…don't cry, Aurora…” he soothed, wiping the tears away from her right cheek as the child's sobs began to lessen, “...I’m right here, and I am not going anywhere...I will not be like that man who raised you alongside your mother... My name is Tiger Claw."
Aurora sniffled and looks at the giant tiger with big wet eyes and replied, “O-Ok...T…Ti…Tigger?”
Tiger Claw just looked at the sobbing girl for a while before he let out a chuckle and replied, “ No. That is not my name but you may call me that if you wish..”
Aura smiled a bit, fresh tears fell from her face but wiped them away with the back of his hand. Tiger Claw nodded once, activated his jetpack, and flew off into the night before the rain could get any worse, the Foot Bots following behind them.
-------
It wasn't until Tiger Claw had entered the room and shook the wetness from his fur that Shredder had looked up from looking at his photo with Karai.
 "You're late," Shredder replied.
"Apologies Master Shredder," Tiger Claw replied while bowing, "But there is something that should know about…it's….important."
Shredder raised a brow and replied, "…Proceed."
Little Aura poked her head out from behind the door and quivered as she saw the metal man talking to the giant cat, he looked like a monster, no wait-a…. wild thing! Like in the book her mother used to read to her before her naptime.
(A/N: If you know the name of the book I referenced, I'll reply to you with a heart emoji in the comments!)
Her chartreuse eyes met the man's brown left eye and damaged right eye and she stepped out into the light, standing closely next to Tiger Claw.
All was silent for a short time until Shredder said to the Foot Bots, "…Take her to the dungeon. She will need to be acquainted with her… sister.."
The Foot Bots began to come towards Aurora but she quickly grabbed onto Tiger Claw's leg and hid herself behind his leg.
"Master Shredder, if I may-" Tiger Claw started, but Shredder interrupted him pounding his fist on the left arm of his throne.
"My decision is final!" Shredder replied angrily, "By blood or not, she will not be of use to me."
Tiger Claw let out a small growl in disgust towards his master's behavior. The child was only a toddler, three and a half years old to be precise, and he wanted to lock the little one up in a damp and cold dungeon like he did with Karai a few days earlier.
She already lost her mother and the overweight man who was supposingly her step-father all in one night and he could tell by the red marks on her legs that she was being abused, mainly with a hand whip, just like he did when he was a young cub growing up in the circus.
The loud crack of the whip and the image of lonely, frail, and scared little cub with hot tears falling down his cheeks and quivering in fear inside of a cage played into his mind and Tiger Claw silently shuddered just remembering.
He looked at Aurora being dragged away by two other Foot Bots into the dungeon at the bottom of the church.
Aurora struggled in the grasp of the Foot Bots, crying and begging to be alongside "Tigger" as she called Tiger Claw.
"No! No! I wan Tigger!" Little Aurora begged, "TIGGER! COME HERE, I'M SCARED! TIGGER NO! OWW!"
Tiger Claw felt his heart throb for the poor child as he heard her screaming while being dragged to the doors. Aurora didn’t deserve to be in that dungeon cold, hungry, and alone.
No child had to suffer like he did.
Something clicked in his head at that moment.
Some kind of...parental instinct as some would say.
Like he needed to protect the girl at all costs.
 Should he do it?
 His ear twitched in doubt.
He was selfish even to hesitate this long.
He could never let her suffer the way he did all those years ago.
Without further delay, he turned to the Shredder.
“Master Shredder... I appose to your decision... she has seen things I myself have seen as a boy and through the code of honor.. the child should not be locked up simply because she is the spawn of the woman you once loved after the passing of Tang Shen...”
Shredder listened to the giant tigers words with a keen ear.
All was silent for a long time.
Then the Shredder told the Foot Bots, “...Release her.”
The Foot Bots turned to Shredder and released Aurora from their grasp who ran to Tiger Claw and latched onto his leg with a tight hug.
“Though she may be my daughter, I wish to have no part in her up bringing. She means nothing more to me than a mere mistake.” Shredder started.
Tiger Claw resisted the urge to swipe his claws at the Shredder for daring to say that to a young girl, but he knew his place.
“Therefore,” Shredder continued, “Aurora shall be under the care of Tiger Claw. Raise her as if she were your own. However, if anything were to happen to on your watch, the consequences will be dire.”
Tiger Claw bowed his head and looked at Aurora quivering behind his leg looking at the man who was supposed to be her father.
The one eyed cat nodded and replied, “Do not worry master. I assure you, I can handle her.”
With that, Shredder said, "Very well. You are dismissed. Do not disappoint me.”
Tiger Claw bowed once more, and he looked down at little Aurora, tapping her on the shoulder and beckoning for her to follow him, which she complied without hesitation.
Aurora turned around and looked at Shredder before turning around to follow Tiger Claw down the hall.
 -----
Aurora looked around the space that was supposed to be a new room.
Tiger Claw sighed in disgust at the room the Foot Bots have given to Aurora.
  The storage room.
Nothing but a large cot, a curtain-less window, weapons scattered everywhere, and stacks of boxes.
"Tigger? Is dis my woom?" Aurora asked.
"Yes. I know it looks a bit dull now, but we’ll be able to make it yours soon enough." Tiger Claw said with a trace of a smile on his lips. "So what do you think? Do you like it?"
"I love it." Aurora said grinning shyly up to him.
"Good, why don't you start unpacking your belongings and I'll go fix you something for you to eat in the kitchen.." he suggested.
Aurora only responded with a nod of her head before slowly and reluctantly letting go of his paw and making her way inside to unpack her pillow case.
Inside the pillowcase were three VHS tapes, her favorite blue butterfly blanket, her lamb lovey, a photograph of her late mother, her art box, her nightwear, some of her clothes, and a pair of shoes, her Wiggles toothbrush and a packet of bubblegum toothpaste, a can of Pringles chips and three cartons of chocolate milk, four of her favorite Barbie dolls, her Tinkerbell musical jewelry box filled with the bracelets and necklaces she made herself, her CD player with story and music CD's she would listen to at bedtime, her favorite Wiggles nightlight, her Snow White hairbrush and plastic bag filled with hair ties, a small stack of colored construction paper inside a maroon folder, and her most prized possession of all… her stuffed rabbit Barley.
He was a gray rabbit with a white muzzle, pink inside of his long ears that hung low, a light pink nose, black beady eyes, and wore a pair of green overalls with yellow buttons and a red pocket stitched on the front.
Aurora loved Barley dearly and was practically her best friend. She took Barley everywhere she went; even the grocery store and talked to him as if he were a real person when her mother was in one of her moods.
She squeezed the rabbit tightly and sat on top of the cot, swinging her legs at the edge of the cot and looked a the room that would eventually become her room within the span of a few weeks.
It didn't look so bad, it was better and even bigger than her room at home, still, aside from her newly found father and guardian "Tigger", she wished she had someone to play with her and show her the affection she truly desired.
Suddenly, Aurora saw two Foot Bots walking down the hall to a hidden door. The little one was curious and decided to follow them.
Grabbing Barley by the ear, Aurora quietly creped down the stairs that lead to the underground dungeon.
Cobwebs almost everywhere, torches lit with fire, cages with silver bars, and stone cold floors. Aurora clutched Barley close to her as she followed the Foot Bots to a cell within the dungeons to where an older girl was sitting on the floor.
Was this her sister like the Shredder had said before?
The little one hid herself behind one of the pillars and observed as the older girl say something to the foot bots before they left the dungeon.
  Now was her chance.
Aurora sat down on the cold floor with her back against the wall, holding Barley by the hands, quietly playing with him.
"I had a rabbit like that when I was your age.."
Aurora turned around to see the older girl, her amber eyes glowing in the darkness of her cell. She backed away a bit while holding Barley with her left arm.
"Don't worry," the older girl said, "I'm not going to punch you in the face or anything like that."
She reached to shake Aurora's hand. Aurora's hesitated for a moment but reached her hand out and the two gently shook hands.
"Aurora, right?" The older girl asked.
"Uh-huh," Aurora replied, "A-Are you my big sis'der?"
"So I've been told," she replied, "My name's Karai."
Aurora said, "H-Hi Kawai…Say hello to Kawai Bawlee. She's my big sis'der!"
The little one held up Barley and moved his right arm side to side to make it as if the rabbit was saying hello.
Karai smirked and waved back a light wave. "So, I take it that you've met your dad hm?"
"Yeah," Aurora replied but frowned, "He, he doesn't want me wif him an…I dunno why… he says I'mma mistake. B-But I didn' do anyfing wrong, I-I dunno why he hates me.."
Karai saw the look on Aurora's face and instantly felt pity for the poor girl.
She reached out her hand to gently stroke Aurora's small hand and said, "Hey, don't worry about dad OK? He can be a real jerk sometimes and doesn't care about anyone but himself. But y'wanna know something?"
  "What?" Aurora asked.
"…. If you have any advice or wanna talk or just hang out, you can always come down here." Karai said, "I'll be here so you don't have to face the wrath of dad but you have to make sure dad doesn't catch you. He doesn’t want anyone other than his "henchmen" down here or else you're gonna be in dead meat."
Aurora nodded excitedly and smiled widely. "OK sissy!" she exclaimed.
Karai giggled softly at her new sister's excitement. Once Aurora settled down, she sat down on the stone floor where she and Karai just sat and talked. Karai asked a lot of questions like what her favorite color was, what her favorite foods are, what shows does she like to watch on TV, what her favorite things to do are, what her favorite movies are, and so on and so fourth.
The girls didn't know how much time had passed but soon, Aurora heard the sound of foot steps heading towards the dungeon.
She knew it was time to go back up.
Grabbing Barley, Aurora got up from her spot on the floor but before she left, she gave Karai's hand and forearm a big hug.
  "Same time tomorrow?" Karai asked.
"Yeah!" Aurora replied excitedly. "I love you Kawai!!"
Karai was speechless at first but smiled and ruffled Aurora's raven black hair.
Aurora then quickly ran to the staircase to head back upstairs, dragging Barley by the ear, but not before looking back at her new big sister one more time.
Maybe this was going to work out after all.
