We stayed at a vacation rental across the water from Kirkjufell Mountain, and had a lot of time to enjoy the view during all weather and time of day.

The one restaurant you have to try is Bjargarsteinn, by far our best meal on the trip. The Icelandic Scallop, Red Fish, and Seafood Soup are excellent choices. The lamb is a bit bland though.

Das motiviert zu weiteren Ausflügen an der Küste

Auf der Westseite der Halbinsel Snaefellsnes

Übernachtet wird am Campingplatz in Arnarstapi. Wir anerkennen die Bemühungen des Betreibers um Modernisierung und Erweiterung, aber zufrieden sind wir nicht. Nur Online Registrierung, weit und breit kein Servicepersonal, grosser Andrang von Campinggästen, die halbe Infrastruktur ist ausser Betrieb, und die Seeschwalben sind ziemlich pissed, weil man ihr Terrain okkupiert hat.

PS: Unser Gespann ist NICHT für die Jeeppisten 570 und 575 geeignet!

Zum Snaefell-Gletscher bzw Gipfel hoch geht es nur zu Fuss oder mit einem einschlägigen Adventure-Anbieter!🧐

Die ersten zwei Tage unseres Urlaubs im März im Süden von Island vergehen wie im Flug. An Wasserfällen, Gletschern und auf den Straßen der Snaefellsnes Halbinsel. Und die Nordlichter dürfen auch nicht fehlen!

Another study from a photo I have from Iceland. While there I took over a thousand photos, so I have a lot to work from. I went through recently and set aside a few of my favorites to do studies from and this one was among them. It wasn't the clearest photo because it was taken from the car, but I loved that little black house in the distance.
