using the dream i had where utena had white streaks in her hair as inspiration, i made these designs!!! i wanted to keep them recognizeable, but also have more fantastical elements to them. i dont know if their (mostly utena's) outfits make too much logical sense, but since they're inspired by a dream, do they have to be?

the chunin exams arc was so interesting for how it portrayed sakura's potential and how people in her life influenced it. kakashi lying about the team-based enrollment criteria because he thinks sakura would be likely to sign up only to appease sasuke, and being genuinely surprised when she shows up anyway. naruto being completely oblivious when sakura was upset preceding the exams and also after she cut her hair in the forest of death. naruto literally dreaming about saving sakura from enemies, being the hero to her damsel-in-distress. sakura moulding herself into a perfectly feminine lady because that's what society demanded and what she thought sasuke would want. versus sasuke calling her out for focusing too much on romance instead of her skills like she should be doing. sasuke picking up that she was upset because she felt inadequate and reminding her of what she was best at -- maybe even better than him -- and never begrudging her for it. ino hacking into her mind because she was sure, not a single doubt in her mind, that sakura would know the answers to the impossible questions on the written exam. ino and sasuke both stepping in to save her during her fight with the sound nin, but only after being spurred on by the brutal beating she took. ino and sasuke getting frustrated with naruto when he commented on how her haircut looked because it made sakura trivialize her experience and offer a fake explanation about women being fickle. the flashbacks revealing to us that ino affirmed that she would one day bloom into a beautiful flower. ino and sasuke serving as a catalyst for sakura to get stronger before pt 1 and pt 2 respectively. idk do you see what i'm seeing

#haruno sakura #inosaku #sasusaku #idk considering sakura's main goal as a character....#it's just so touching they're the only ones we see who ever seemed to expect something of her. believe in her even...#and tsunade eventually ofc. really really wish we had more of that dynamic #and i dont wanna discredit naruto he did cheer her on during her fight w ino #i just think this theme of knowing and encouraging sakura's potential is not really. true of ns as it is for is and ss #which is why whenever i see those 'naruto was the only one who saw sakura's REAL self' posts a part of me shrivels up and dies #the 'real self' in question = beating him up for little to no reason #and like sure it alludes to her real personality but it's not a healthy expression of it. that's why it occurs w far less frequency in pt 2 #anyway i'd need a whole other post to delve into that but let's just say it's really not an interpretation i enjoy #naruto meta

Karlach’s response to S/O tav that’s always cold and inching closer to her?

- camping out in the woods is no luxury. Sleeping on the ground even less so. Even with a tent the chill still sleeps in unless you sleep by the edge of the fire with the others.

- Tonight it’s not enough it seems, the wind has picked up, and with it a wet chill that sinks deep into your bones. One of the downsides of camping near a body of water, you suppose.

- You look to the side, where your partner, Karlach, sleeps peacefully. Her cover is tossed to the side and the fiery glow from the engine in her chest seems to rhythmically pulse with her every breath. Immune to the chill.

- You hesitate for a split second but crawl over to her bed roll, keeping quiet as to not wake the others.

- “Psst. Karlach.” You put a hand to her shoulder and relish in the heat that radiates off of her. She grumbles and slowly sits up, staring at you in confusion before finally blinking in clarity.

- “What’s the matter, Sweetheart? Feeling cold without me?” She jokes but then notices your face. “Oh, you really are cold, ok why didn’t you say so then” she says not giving you a chance to talk as she excitedly wriggles over a little so there’s room for you next to her.

-When you lay down next to her the warmth envelops you like a hug. Hee bedroll is already warm from her body heat, and the fire at your back keeps you from shivering.

- Your tiefling love will excitedly snuggle closer to you once you’re settling and wrap her arms around you, and you do the same. It’s blissfully warm. Perfect. You sigh in contentment and give her a quick kiss.

-She gazes at you lovingly, planting a kiss on your cheek…then your forehead, then your other cheek and keeps going till you giggle and tell her to cut it out.

-you both fall asleep again in eachothers arms, forgetting the fact that you were ever chilly to begin with.

- Any time you’re cold or show signs of being cold she assures you that you can be close to her anytime. Anytime at all.

the frozen ii ending makes me soooooo angry like the whole POINT of frozen i was that elsa learned that she could rule arendelle with her powers and with anna by her side!!! literally in the bway musical she sings ‘i know i’ll never see that sunny day / when this trial is finally through / and it can just be me and you’ like. elsa WANTS to stay with anna

and they try and explain this somewhat in into the unknown, with the ‘who knows deep down i’m not where i’m meant to be’ but. WHY isn’t she where she’s meant to be. all of the first film was her learning that she belonged in arendelle and her powers/herself wasn’t something to be afraid of. why isn’t she meant to be with her family? with her sister who’s been desperate to reconnect with her? why doesn’t she belong where people readily love her and accept her and want the best for her?

and then, what about anna? there is no mention of her wanting/being ready to be queen in either two films. we don’t even see the offer on screen; we don’t get the sisters’ quiet, vulnerable conversation where elsa admits to wanting to live with the rest of the nature spirits and anna offers to take her place as queen. we don’t see anna begging elsa to stay in the forest because she can rule if elsa’s happier there. we never see their dialogue. it’s just so sudden. is anna once again just going along with what her sister wants? is elsa isolating herself all over again? we just don’t know. they both seem happy, but there’s barely any indication that it’ll lead up to that point.

it just makes no sense for either of their arcs, or their previous wants/needs. if they were meant to stay together, why separate them again? they just got each other back. and now they’re alone again.

#and yeah yeah neither of them are alone bc of kristoff/the other nature spirits etc etc but COME ONNNNNNN.#anna did not spend most of her life desperate to spend time with her sister just for elsa to fuck off to the mountains again! what was the+#point of the first film!#like when did anna show ANY indication of being ok with being QUEEN???? does she even WANT to be???#and yes elsa is now surrounded by people like her but. gah. idk it just feels so redundant #like why is that the only place she really belongs?#and i know they’re her people so ofc she wants to be with them bc she found where she belongs!!#i just think they could’ve balanced it a bit more so it’s not so out of nowhere #why didn’t we get to see anna and elsa talk it out???? sing a little duet?????#they don’t even HAVE a duet in this film what the hell #grrrr #anyway. normal i’m so normal about frozen #frozen #frozen ii #elsa of arendelle #anna of arendelle

You’re in luck anon, these two were next on my list! Castle McDuff grants immortality to those who reside in its walls, keeping them at a set age. However, these two don’t live there full time. Tilly stays alive because she constantly alternates between living there and not, and Hortense has her own methods of avoiding aging. As a result, all three McDuff siblings have quite varying physical ages, Scrooge appears to be a surpassingly spry eighty something year old, Matilda looks to be in her early sixties, and Hortense in her late forties to mid fifties.

Does your Zack ever get to his true breaking point where everything is just too much to push away and he can't help but show his true vulnerability? And if so, what or who is the catalyst?

OMG I RRRRR I LOVED DRAWING 4 THIS ONE OKAY SO. with the au, zack will reach a breaking point with the way he's handling his emotions by blocking them off/bottling them up. It's inevitable. The question of what/who is the catalyst and not when or if it happens hehehe AND IM SO EXCITED TO ANSWER. Through out the au story, zack is stuck in this sorta mentality.

he's so reliant on Cloud being okay, that he can't focus on anything else (for reasons i can discuss another time). My instinctive reaction, it to think that Cloud waking up would give him enough emotional relief to let down some of those walls. But, then I thought that if Zack bases his emotional wellbeing so heavily on cloud...

then theres not going to be a point where Cloud is suddenly 'okay' enough in Zacks brain to let it out. Life has its ups and downs, recovery from physical/mental trauma like cloud went through especially has its ups and downs. Theres always going to be some excuse for Zack to close up even further, particularly since he chooses to be in a caretaker role for Clouds early recovery when he needs it.

So then my mind hopped over to Tifa and Barret, his two closest friends in this au. But I thought that also could only go so far, Zack wants to appear strong for the people he cares for, and in his mind, he's somehow 'tricked' Barret and Tifa into thinking he's stable and tough enough to be their friend, he doesn't want to risk suddenly being too much. (IMPOSTER SYNDROME GANG RISE UP) And since Zack is so numb to violence and battle, I think it'd take a lot to push him out of that even in physically violent scenarios (u could still try though. whump writers i am on ur side 4ever) And not only that, but Tifa and Barret have only known Zack as he is now. They know that he's definitely a bit weird, but they don't know how far that goes, as this is the only version of Zack they've ever met.

BUT HE OBVIOUSLY will still have his own explosion. It's necessary, it's inevitable. Just look at that guy. So I thought, who else?
