"it's just me."
you barely get a chance to roll onto your back before soonyoung's already climbing onto the bed and somewhat on top of you and your blankets, and it's only seconds later that he crashes. it's far from the first time this has happened (soonyoung is clingy and cuddly, especially when he's sleepy), but he manages to knock the wind out of you nonetheless. he rests his head on your chest, and you wiggle an arm out to curl around him as best as you can in your semi-trapped position.
"soonyoung--"
"just go back to sleep," he murmurs. "everything's fine."
you stroke his hair, thumb dipping down to graze his cheek at one point. "soonie--"
"i mean it," he says, eyes peering up in the low light to see yours. "i'm fine. just need to nap." his hand finds yours, and he wraps your arm around him as he snuggles in. he plants a kiss against your chest before resting his head against it again, eyes fluttering shut. "you can rest a little longer, too."
you settle back down after a moment, arms wrapped around soonyoung as you shut your eyes again. sometimes you swear this tiger is a teddy bear, but regardless of which he is, he's yours.

One day before Steve can even tell his students which page in their textbooks turn to, he sees a hand shoot up from the back of the class. He sighs internally and rubs at his eyes before saying, “Yes, Jeremy?”
Jeremy: Can I stream today’s lesson for Thomas? He doesn’t want to get behind.
Steve, taking too long to process what the hell he was asking: …okay? As long as it’s not a distraction. Let Thomas know that we are all hoping him a speedy recovery.
That’s how Eddie ends up lounging on Dustin’s couch, watching a live stream of his husband teach a bunch of kids about slope intercept. Also because Dustin is streaming on twitch, how some people ended up watching Eddie watch Steve teach a class.
Ten minutes into the lesson, Ozzy gets up from his bed by Steve’s desk and starts pacing around the room. He circles around Steve and paws at his shoes, but Steve barely acknowledges it. Eddie says aloud: He’s going to have a seizure.
Ozzy tugs on Steve’s pant leg and whines a little but all Steve does is pat him on the head and distractedly say: Not now, Oz.
Eddie: Jesus H Christ. Listen to the dog, Steve. That’s why you have him.
Eddie, typing in the chat: Tell him to sit down
Jeremy must have raised his hand because Steve says “We’ll do questions after this section” and turns back to the board. Eddie swears.
Dustin: Dude, just call him.
Eddie does and you can hear Steve’s phone ring over the live stream because he never remembers to put it on silent. Steve answers it when he sees that it’s Eddie and before he can say anything, Eddie says, “Sit down. You’re about to have a seizure.”
Steve, in the stream, looked alarmed and confused when he repeated back, “I’m about to have a seizure?”
Eddie doesn’t really know what happened for a while after that because Steve, for some reason, hung up on him and the live stream ended the moment he said the word ‘seizure.’

“Come on, come on. Breathe. In and out. You can manage that.”
Field Whump Time >:)
Hero collapsed in the moss. The smell of grass rose up to meet him, new and green.
His leg throbbed. He didn't have to look to know that the soft ground was soaked with blood.
His team caught up with him, their voices filling the air with anxious whispers. To him, it sounded like they were shouting.
"Hero?"
"Are you alright?"
"Hey! C'mon mate, get up!"
Hero, with a desperate sound, put his hands beneath him. He pushed himself up on all fours and then, digging a hand into a tree trunk, stood.
The faces of his team blurred together. He blinked and they cleared. He shook his head, putting a hand out to wave them aside. "I'm...I'm okay." Breathing should not hurt as much as it did, but other than that...he was fine. He refused to look at his leg.
"Are you sure?" asked Leader.
Hero took his hand off the tree to prove exactly how fine he was doing. Putting weight on his injured leg sent a spike of pain up his entire body, fresh and horrific. "Yeah," he gasped.
Medic looked at Hero for a long moment, their expression unreadable.
Hero broke eye contact first and took a step forward, to further prove himself. "We need to keep going--AH--" Hero crumpled to one knee, his leg betraying him. His face went white.
Medic turned to Leader and shook their head. As quickly as that, his sentence was passed.
Hero struggled to stand, but Medic put a hand on his shoulder to stop him. "Lie down. We have to remove the bullet." They spoke like they were simply announcing the result of a calculation.
Hero looked from Leader to Medic, searching their faces for any way of escape, and found none. He turned to his teammates. Nothing. "No, you don't have to do this." His voice shook. "No, please."
Medic crouched down next to Hero, unraveling their pack. Hero caught a glimpse of shining metal and shuddered. Medic caught him looking. "We have to work quickly." They did not say don't worry, it won't hurt.
The air contracted around Hero as Leader gently pushed him to the ground. It seemed to shimmer, as unreal as this whole situation. He dug his nails into the soft moss when he heard metal clinking against metal.
"Please," Hero tried again. "Please--"
"Give him something to bite down on," said Medic. "You two, grab his arms, don't let him thrash around."
Hero tried to jerk upright at this but his teammates already had him pinned. One whispered an apology as they pressed him into the ground, the other said nothing and would not look at him.
Leader squeezed his hand sympathetically, then held up a piece of leather, waiting to see if he would take it.
Hero blinked.
He was back.
Villain standing above him, just out of his line of sight--
No, no, no, n--no
"Keep begging like the dog you are."
The flash of steel-- the sudden brightness of it inside him-- digging under his skin, biting deep. Deeper and twisting--
Hero was shaking, suddenly aware of Leader and the moss and Medic cutting away his pant leg to reveal not one, but two, bullets embedded above his knee.
He nodded. "Give it to me." He bit down on the leather and hoped it would muffle his screams.
Villain's favorite pastime had involved a knife and Hero under his blade.
Medic pressed cool steel against the wound and Hero tried to scramble away, back arching.
Through the roaring in his ears, he heard Leader telling him to breathe.
He dug his hands into the moss, green and white behind his eyes. The smell of iron grew stronger. He couldn't--
"Come on, come on. Breathe. In and out. You can manage that.”
Hero exhaled a shuddering breath.
Medic dug deeper.
He screamed into the gag.
"In and out!" snapped Leader. "Breathe in and out."
Hero was shaking. He inhaled shallowly, more out of instinct than obedience.
Then came Medic's clear voice, "Got the first one."
Leader patted Hero's shoulder in sympathy.
Hero exhaled. His breathing came at a quicker and quicker pace, hands buried in the dirt, as Medic dug out the second bullet.
The color green danced behind his eyes, dull and pounding. He tried to drown himself in it. It didn't help. The taste of leather in his mouth felt wrong-- like vinegar or something sour-- warning bells going off too late.
He didn't hear Medic's relief when they said, "We're done." He only felt the tight pressure of the bandages being wrapped. His teammates let him up and when he spat the leather gag out, he noticed, vaguely, the dirt under his nails was bloodstained.
He worked his jaw in a circle, trying to erase the taste of wrongness. "Fuck you guys," he muttered.

There are three main models of disability that are in common use. The moral model, the medical model, and the social model.
You may not have heard of the moral model before, but if you are disabled, you have felt the impact of it. The moral model is disability as a failure of character. It sources the problem of disability in the character of the disabled person. It's the people who insist that if you just tried harder, were better, had a better attitude, that you would no longer be disabled. It is a model that is used by ableists in order to conceptualize of disability as a failing of the individual. An extreme example of this mindset are the Christian Scientists, who believe that all illnesses and disabilities should be healed by the grace of their god and that if you are not healed, something is wrong with you. It is the the most cruel of the models, and the least successful at assisting disabled people.
The medical model is the model used by the medical establishment and by those who put their stock in medical authority. It sources the problem of disability in the body. It measures disability against a theoretical average person, and seeks to make disabled people match that average person more closely. This model works very well for disabled people with disabilities that can be measured, have a potential treatment plan, and want their disability gone. It does not work very well for people who do not match all three criteria. If they match the first and second but not the third, then strict adherents of the medical model often fall back on the moral model, stating that they are stupid, lazy, or selfish for not being interested in being cured. This also often happens if treatment fails to improve the condition of the disabled person.
The social model is a newer model, largely designed by disability activists and scholars and often defined in opposition to the medical model. It sources the problem of disability in the interaction between the disabled person and their physical and social environment. It argues that the solution of disability is to change the environment so that impairments are no longer an issue. This model works very well for disabled people who consider their disability not to be an issue when fully accommodated. It does not work well for people who consider their disability an inherent impairment and/or desire a cure. Strict adherents of the social model often fall back on the moral model when considering these people, stating that they are short-sighted or that they worship the medical model. These are the people who state things such as that depression would not exist in a world without capitalism.
When a disabled person fails to behave as expected by the model a person has of disability, the moral model is almost always the fallback position, because many people cannot conceive of why someone would disagree with them other than a lack of good character. This is a problem, because the moral model proposes no solution but to ignore or abuse the disabled person until they behave as expected.
Another notable interaction is that adherents of the medical model can often be persuaded to support the more traditional parts of the social model, such as providing large text resources to people with impaired vision, so long as there is empirical research backing it. However, they rarely support more radical arguments that challenge how we define disability and how society should be structured or restructured.
All three models have major failure points. The moral model fails every disabled person it is applied to. The medical and social models both fail different disabled people when adhered to strictly. The best approach at the moment seems to be hybridizing the social and medical models, so that they cover each other's weak points and fit the needs of the widest spectrum of disabled people. The main barrier to this is that they are often defined in opposition to each other.

Okay.
I am being super, ultra cautious about how I'm wording this, but am going out on a limb here.
As someone who literally helped to care for her much younger brother (I had solo custody of him one night per week during his teens, I fed him, supervised homework, did his laundry, got him ready for school, made his lunches, all that jazz) I am just slightly familiar with what it's like to step in to be a guardian for a younger relative.
I'm reading Reborn. I'm reading basically all of Dick and Damian's appearances. I'm...not seeing a parent-child relationship here. I see mentoring and supervision, yes. I appreciated the "I was trying to have a night off" moment in Streets of Gotham. But a lot of this is just big brothering or vigilante mentor stuff.
I fully, 100% believe Dick and Damian bonded during their period together. I also believe they had a little family unit going on between Alfred, Dick and Damian. I respect people reading whatever interpretation they want to read of this material.
But from what I see on the paper? I think calling it parental is a stretch. Damian's in kincare, folks. On paper? Damian's physical needs are being provided by Alfred, his vigilante mentoring is being provided by Dick, as far as I can tell he's not even in education, and we get precious few insights into what's happening during daylight hours. (Especially, ESPECIALLY as I really have not seen Damian receive, well, boundaries outside of the field. Or consequences for his actions. Or...really, any active parenting)
Dick's looking after Damian, sure. But he's not Damian's parent.
And that's perfectly ok, not everything has to be reduced to a simple traditional nuclear family ideal.

Can everyone PLEASE leave Illymation tf alone?
"She used clickbait in her video" UM in some states they stupidly classify removing tumors from your uterus as an abortion because they're "living and growing" EVEN IF THEY ARE DANGEROUS.
Somebody made a video tearing apart her Being the Fat Kid video and even stooped low to the point of making fun of her posture, clothes, skin, and glasses. Idfc if you are doing it in the name of being "health conscientious," you don't insult people's appearance, especially if it's not related to the topic at hand. And yes she takes selfies of herself with fast food, but that's not the ONLY food she eats and her drawing herself with Frosted Flakes and the end title with various food that's not 100 percent healthy. It's a cartoon she's not actually eating that.
Also, her videos aren't aimed at kids that's just her artstyle, moreso 13+. You're assuming all cartoons are for kids based on her style.
And your reaction to her responding how one would normally reply to this is to call her a crybully.
Do you research and grow tf up people.

If I have to hear the name ozempic one more fucking time…..
I have a friend who’s diabetic and she told me that her doctor keeps trying to get her to go on ozempic…but her a1c levels are fine. My friend said she’d rather just get straight insulin shots if it’s that bad but her doc said she didn’t need it…
Then the mf started yapping about bmi and it clicked. My friends levels are fine. Her diabetes is under control. Her doctor just thinks she’s too fat so wants to put her on a medication to help lose weight even though it has atrocious gastrointestinal side effects
Diabetics that genuinely do need ozempic can’t fucking get it bc there’s a national shortage due to random mfs that were already 110 soaking wet with rain boots on snatching up the supply. Fatphobia in medicine isn’t just dangerous it kills, either through encouraging and allowing harmful behavior or neglecting the vulnerable.

You guys know I'm not a proponent at all for the "Medic tf2 has/had a wife" thing but like as an outsider looking in can I just say I kind of hate the way a lot of people will characterize her... Like tf2 both as a property and a community already have so many problems w misogyny and seeing people take this woman who might as well not even exist (I don't think she does lol), who they could choose to write in ANY way they want, and defaulting to like. "horrible controlling bitch" (ESPECIALLY in the context of "horrible controlling bitch who is keeping my gay bois uwu from being together!!!" like you CAN write a lot about the nuances of gay men who marry women but I am begging for Fandoms(tm) in general to abandon the "woman as an obstacle to my yaoi" thing in 2023 please)
