“Thank you,” Simon starts. He holds the door open to the antique shop for Min to follow behind him. “For coming with me, I mean,” In the middle of the week, the antique shop doesn’t appear busy, with just the owner and another patron or two milling around the thick layers of dust and cobwebs. “Specifically, I’m on the hunt for a large fish tank. But really, I’ll take a look at anything that appears to be of decent quality or high value,” He says. “Have you ever been antiquing before?” He realizes Min is quite literally older than many - if not all - of the pieces present in the shop, but that doesn’t mean she suddenly knows what sort of thing to look for when purchasing something that will continue to last.

Min vivia na vida boa desde que se entendia por gente, era a típica rica rebelde. Que queria mais do que a vida dentro de uma mansão. Infelizmente, os pais rígidos nunca deixavam a garota sair de sua barreira. Pelo menos, ela gostava dos luxos que ganhava e nunca negava presentes. Era apaixonada na dança e música. Mas nunca foi apoiada nisso, ainda sim, fez aulas e no futuro, estaria graduada em dança na faculdade.

Mas, vamos voltar à infância. Essa infância na qual Min conheceu quem seria seu futuro novo. Pois é. Tudo planejado. Song's e Park's tinham uma relação política e que envolvia muito dinheiro, por esse motivo, sempre foi de importância pra eles que a filha casasse com o mais novo dos Park, Hakkun.

A rebeldia aumentou desde que descobriu que teria que casar com um amigo de infância que nem ao menos gostava, e isso permaneceu até o seu crescimento. Nunca mudou. Contra a vontade dos pais, formou-se em dança e isso foi o que acelerou o processo do casamento forçado. A garota já era próxima do amigo a qual não tinha relação amorosa, e por causa dele, passou a ficar mais rebelde e sair mais, muito mais. Ir pras noites de Seul havia virado rotina, apostas, drogas e início numa vida um tanto malucas e que os pais nunca saberiam.

O casamento parecia de conta de fadas, sua semelhança com os contos era que ambos eram mentira. O plano de Hakkun e Min sempre foi obter o dinheiro que todos os envolvidos ganhariam e fugir. Foi o que começaram a fazer, foram pra Las Vegas, ilhas famosas e outros lugares. Juntos. Apoiando-se na vida ilegal ao mesmo tempo e mentindo pra família.

Quando a família descobriu da farsa, começaram a procurar o casal, o que fez com que eles voltassem pra Seul, pegassem o barco e ir pro primeiro destino. Mugunghwa foi o destino surpresa. E claro que gostaram, isolado e pequeno. Como descobririam? Era a fachada perfeita e o jeito de obterem o divórcio do casamento falso logo, e claro, trabalharem pra disfarçar as outras intenções.

Ulysses makes little claim to his alignment of House Fraser. Others may have had comradery with their shared union, and a bond over their mutual dislike of the other houses, but as a cursed blood, his status was not often appreciated by those honing in on their abilities the same time as the rest. Sign him up for a newsletter. Show up for an assignment once in a blue moon. Ulysses had more priorities than dedicating his life to House Fraser.

Fighting any of those monsters under his House banner seemed like a mistake waiting to happen, but Ulysses is not quick to forget his days as a soldier. Although he shies himself away from the public eye most days ( eating someone’s father does little to boost your own popularity ), when the monsters grow too close to his foster mother and the tavern he calls home, Ulysses can’t simply sit idly by.

The turnout of others surprises him - and in the heat of shouting and sweat, all he can smell is blood. His cravings in recent years have grown impossible to ignore. Even when his arms are flaked with frost from the shards of ice he sharpens from the air’s moisture, Ulysses grows still in the middle of battle. Blood seems to hang all around him - how easy would it be for him to join in on the beasts side? To take a warrior or two for himself?

The daydream fades too slowly and allows for a beast to sink their teeth into his side. Ulysses’ ice leaves bright red burns against the monster’s skin, but the damage to him has already been done, and he staggers in place in a struggle to collect his own thoughts.
