- first off: the opening for the winter cup arc is different where they used scenes to indicate the yosen match with seirin instead of showing Kuroko’s ignite pass kai. Hyuga, too, was also very curious about what your relationship with Aida might be like, though he was much less in your face compared to the other two.

Izuki wanted to tell you all his jokes and you felt like you couldn’t refuse him, so you just listened. He had some pretty good ones in there that got you to laugh quite hard. Sometimes Aida would hear your snickering and she’d get distracted for a moment as she smiled at you gently, softening up for a moment as she watched you having fun before directing her attention back to the games.

Tsuchida, Furihata, Kawahara and Fukuda were generally nice people to be around. They’d sometimes try to talk to you about school or something general but they were very respectful and didn’t want to pry with questions about your relationship.

For the most part, Kuroko was the same. He was good at holding a conversation and he was polite about all his questions regarding your relationship. The softness of his voice made you feel more comfortable talking to him because it gave you the feeling that he was similar to you in that you were both generally quiet. By the end of it all you probably ended up bonding with him the most.

Meanwhile, Kagami was just a mess when it came to trying to talk to you. He was much too focused on practice to try and talk to you, but when he did feel like casually talking to you here and there, the conversation would lead nowhere. So for the most part, he opted to just sit in silence and listen to others talk to you as a way of getting to know you better.

Finally the practice came to an end. Once things were all cleaned up and put away, you prepared yourself to leave with Aida. “Good work today everyone,” she announced as she casually took your hand in hers. “Y/N and I are heading out. See you tomorrow!”

“Thanks Coach, see you tomorrow,” they all replied one by one.

“Aww look they’re holding hands!” Kiyoshi called out.

“Awww,” Izuki, Koganei and Hyuga cooed, gaining a glare from Aida as you two walked out of the gym, with you holding back an embarrassed laugh.

“Well, did you like it?” Aida asked you once you were alone.

“Yeah, it was pretty fun. They’re all quite... unique.”

Aida laughed, “Yeah that’s one way to put it. I’m glad you liked it. You should join in more.”

“I wouldn’t mind, I just don’t know how many more questions about our relationship I can answer at this point,” you joked.

“Eh, don’t worry about that. Just say the word and I’ll get them to zip it,” Aida said confidently.

She was really happy that you seemed to fit in well with the team though. For a moment she was worried that springing something up like this to a bunch of teenage boys would cause a lot of chaos and discomfort, but she was pleasantly surprised by how well they seemed to take it. If anything, they seemed excited and thrilled by the news.

For the rest of the night, Aida wore a big smile on her face. How could she not? She was walking hand in hand with the person she loved, after coaching a team of people who seemed to be very considerate of her feelings. She was the happiest person in the world that evening. And seeing her that happy only made your heart fill with joy.

Izuki and Shotolooked at the male below them, they looked at each worriedly "Is he going to be okay?" Izuki asked Shoto, the other male just shrugged, the guilt slowly eating him away as well.

"Damn it M/n, why did you have to do this....I'm sorry" Shoto clenched his fists as he continued to stare at the unconscious male in front of him.

Izuki blushed as he thought of an idea "M-Maybe, we can show him how much we appreciate his effort" he said shyly, they both knew the other had a crush on the taller male.

And they accepted the fact that they couldn't change that and they also both knew M/n wouldn't choose either, he cared too much for them.

"And how will we do that?" Shoto asked raising a brow. Izuki blushed harder and softly touched the tip of both of his fingers together

"W-We can pl-pl-pleasure him" he whispered while his face was burning and red, but it was loud enough for the other male to hear, Todoroki blushed brightly as he looked at the shorter male

"I mean...I guess we can" he cleared his throat and nodded "We can, but we should wait until he wakes up, for the meantime, we should clean up a bit" Izuki nodded in agreement, his blush slowly going away.

After cleaning up, M/N had awakened to a nice smell, He slowly sat up, groaning he went into the kitchen to see both of his cute boyfriends making his favorite dinner, f/d, he smiled "You did this for me? what did I do to deserve you guys" He smiled brightly, as he went to kiss both of them on their cheeks

Izuki and Shoto blushed lightly, "Well you do a lot for us so we decided to pay you back" Izuki smiled, while Shoto nodded "you guys didn't have too, you just being here with me is enough" M/n smiled while his eyes turned a ruby red before going back to their normal e/c

"well dinner is ready, let's eat!" All three males shined brightly as they served the food for each other. They sat down and talked about how M/n should take care of his health more.

After eating and enjoying a little bit of time together, they all went to the bedroom and cuddled. Shoto was on the right while Izuki was on the left, the tv in the room was playing a show that they all enjoyed, M/n was the only one watching while the two shorter males were slowly falling asleep from all the cleaning they did.

M/n watched the show that slowly made a turn into a sex scene, M/n's face turned red but was slowly getting turned on, he bit his lip as his member slowly started to get hard. Izuki moved closer to M/n and moaned softly, his soft breath hit M/n's neck causing M/n to blush even more.

both males were naked, M/n made marks all over the bottoms pale neck, making the male under him make noises, but he tried to not be loud since he didn't want to wake up Shoto, who looked like he needs the sleep since he cleaned most of the house.

Izukis puns won’t fly over well in the dub either. Im happy its on netflix, and yeah there are some people that won’t be bothered to watch anime unless its dubbed, like a few of my family members ive been trying to convince to watch knb over the years but now that it’s dubbed they might give it a chance. Still though, i agree the voices just don’t match at all. Japanese seiyuus idk how they do it, but their range is much wider. I can’t tell sometimes when two or more characters share the same VA if the VA is Japanese. With the English VAs its easier to pick up, you’ll hear the same voice over and over again. Not to discredit their hard work but that’s just my two cents.

Tbh, a lot of the dub is kind of.... interesting... I was going to make a post about my overall feelings soon! 

But I do agree. Japanese VA are better at emotions and expressing than English VA. And I don’t want people to think I’m hating on Dub. Cause I grew up with dub. But sometimes the Sub is just better... I’ll go into more depth in another post. But I agree :D

How I feel about this character

A+ captain 👌. He puts up with so much shit and loves his team so much and he’s such a good character okay, so much respect. That whole arc where he quits basketball and Kiyoshi has to convince him to play and you can just Tell he still loves the game he’s just been severely discouraged (”I know that! that’s why I’m so bored every day!”) that was *chef’s kiss*. I also love the bit where he asks Riko how he can make shots under pressure and she threatens to break his shit for every one he misses and he Actually Agrees like goddamn. That’s dedication. Also this absolute NERD collecting army general figures (people pass it off as him forcing a new hobby when he’s quitting bball but he actually does seem to love them and know a lot about them and I love that). He’s so good. His relationship with the whole team is so good and his ability to lead them and keep even the uppity freshman duo in line is perfect. Quality organic senpai material.  

All the people I ship romantically with this character

Riko (100% canon team parents and that one valid straight ship. I love how they can be this terrifying evil duo and still so sweet with each other, how they support each other and get on each other’s nerves and still have each other/the team’s back at all times. wholesome af) 

Kiyoshi (their whole relationship is amazing, from the way they meet and Kiyoshi’s pestering and Hyuuga refusing to acknowledge that he’s right and they work well together, and then finally getting his shit together and that Promise he makes when Kiyoshi is injured?? good shit good shit. I also like him, Kiyoshi and Riko as a poly trio.)

Mibuchi (I MEAN. Mibuchi’s interest in Hyuuga is canon and the way he’s so flirty with him is actually pretty adorable. I’d love for them to actually be a couple with Hyuuga trying to be the stoic unfazed cool guy and then Mibuchi opens his fucking mouth and he turns into a blushing stammering mess) 

Izuki (what can I say I love ships that come with banter. these guys have got some long-standing history too, and I’m always a sucker for that. Izuki would drive Hyuuga up the fucking wall but they’ve also got some major camaraderie and obviously care for each other a lot. it’d def never be boring when they’re together)

Sakurai (get that apologetic mushroom. the dynamic between these two is so odd but it kinda just works for me, esp Sakurai’s sulkiness trying to prove he’s better that he doesn’t really show anyone else)

Kasamatsu (give me them good captain ships hells ye. I feel like Kasamatsu’s really come to respect him by the second Kaijo/Seirin game and they’re both such tough unyielding characters I’d love to see them get to be soft together)

My non-romantic OTP for this character

Kiyoshi (I can’t have a non-romantic OTP without it also working as a romantic ship can I) what can I say, the reason they work so well as a ship is also the reason they work so well as friends. The history and mutual trust between them, the determination and the promise that binds them together, they’re just such a good pair no matter how they fit together. They’ve also got a healthy dose of exasperated teasing banter about them and you know I eat that shit up. 

My unpopular opinion about this character

Blond Hyuuga is valid. *braces self* 

LISTEN my kink is long hair ok and even if he’d gotten it cut again I kinda wish he’d kept the color the bleached blond works with his eyes. Fight me.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

Guy wears rimless glasses and plays basketball and you’re telling me he never gets them broken even once? It’s not so much a suggestion for improvement as much as a nitpick for realism’s sake, but it was the first damn thing my roommate pointed out about him and now I can’t stop thinking it.

How I feel about this character

ALL HAIL THE PUN MASTER. Tbh I kinda wish I spoke some modicum of Japanese just so the majority of this guy’s jokes wouldn’t fly over my head, but still, even from what my ear and the subs have been able to gather, game recognize game. Izuki’s just an enjoyable character tbh, the way he puts his all into basketball with the rest of his team, the way he’s been playing the longest out of all of them and polished his skills over time, his intellect, his good jokes and absolutely TERRIBLE jokes and the way he harasses/bonds with Hyuuga, he’s such an all-around good egg and I don’t see him get enough love.  

All the people I ship romantically with this character

This list will be pretty short bc there aren’t all that many people... he interacts with one-on-one in canon? Which is kinda a shame tbh.

Hyuuga (As I said above, they’ve got history, they poke each other and get up in each other’s space and still have a rock solid foundation of support and trust for each other they’re a pure ship)

Kiyoshi (who on this team wouldn’t love this big lug to pieces? these two seem to be the only ones in Seirin with any common sense [at times they’ve also both got their fair share of nonsense to be sure] and have their own respectively odd personalities that would probably mesh really well together)

Takao (I talked about their birds-of-a-feather dynamic before in my list for Takao and I stand by it. they’re a good match with lots in common and the sass would be Endless)

Hayama (the ONE PERSON he gets to laugh at his jokes. they’re such an unlikely fit but I love the idea of the two of them just wreaking havoc as a couple)

My non-romantic OTP for this character

Koganei (say whaat at last a purely platonic relationship for this question). They’re such good bros tho, idk if I could see them as a couple, per se, but the way they play off each other is always hilarious and the way they each do their part to work together and support the team is fuckin wholesome. The arc of them working with Kiyoshi to form Seirin’s team in the first place is quality, and the shenanigans they get into over the course of the show never fail to delight me. Just a solid, good friendship that I’m here for.

My unpopular opinion about this character

LET HIM MAKE PUNS. This is more a disagreement with the characters in the show itself than with the fandom, but this guy is fuckin witty (even if his jokes are often groan-worthy, the wordplay itself, from what I’m able to understand, is really clever and that shit’s not easy to come up with on the spot). I respect his efforts and enthusiasm, at least, and as someone whose personality also revolves around lame jokes I will defend this guy to the grave.

One thing I wish would happen / had happened with this character in canon.

We get the briefest, barest mention of him being the one who’s played basketball since way back in grade school and therefore being the most experienced player, but it’s way in season 3 and is never really explored in any depth. Can we get some more backstory/growth for this guy, please? He doesn’t suffer from a lack of screentime (none of the Seirin guys do really) but I think a few of them do suffer from a lack of character development, and this guy’s got the foundation for something great I’m just not sure it was followed through on as well as it could’ve been. 

Tbh considering how well all the characters — even minor ones — in a show like, say... Haikyuu!! are fleshed out and given time and ways to grow and change, I just wish some of KNB’s supporting characters got the same love. It’s one of the show’s main weaknesses and while it doesn’t necessarily detract from the experience, there’s definitely some room for improvement there and I’m just kinda sad we didn’t get it.

The One Where Kuroko Died

Hiiii! So I have a ton of fics I’m probably never gonna finish and I’m sick of them taking up space in my notes/drafts/drive so I’m just gonna dump em here! Expect to see more if you care about my writing lol. Here’s the first one. Drug-use reference and semi-explicit depictions of death mentioned, jsyk.

Kagami was angry. Blind, hot anger spreading through his veins like venom injected into his body.

The ball he'd bounced in his fingers slipped from his grip as he looked at the new comer.

Blue hit his vision, the colours of the sky and all Kagami heard was a whispered "I'm going to fly, Kagami-kun."

The damningly sweet voice had plagued his life since that summer before the first year of high-school. Since that horrifying night Kagami's already iffy mental-stability had crashed and burned violently.

Before right now, Winter-Cup third round preliminaries, he'd been fortunate enough to have not met any of the Miracles. He'd skipped out on basketball last year, too damaged from that night on the Tokyo bridge; Midorima was sick during the second round preliminaries and they hadn't fought him. Kise and Akashi were in different brackets and Murasakibara's group already in the quarterfinals due to their first placing during the Interhigh. He hadn't known what was to happen as he'd met them, didn't know to expect the anger and guilt and blame and vindication he felt.

"I'm going to fly, Kagami-kun."

The voice had lessened in the past few months, with Ogiwara and Kiyoshi having managed to get him to play basketball again. But here, with one of them on the court the voice ravaged him.

Seirin didn't matter, Winter-Cup didn't matter, because all he wanted to do was punch Aomine. To his side, Ogiwara had tensed. Kagami wondered briefly how he managed to control himself from hurting these guys this past year and a half, since Kagami couldn't even last the five minutes since Aomine had entered the game.

"I'm going to fly, Kagami-kun."

Kuroko's voice was stuck in Kagami's head and he hated it. Even after all these months, Kagami was still traumatised by that horrible night. Kagami could still remember the wild glint in Kuroko's eye from some drug he'd been slipped, the hysterical note in his laughter and the look of his body sinking deeper into the ocean, Kagami's fingers feeling the ghost of his clothing.

Growling, Kagami kicked a chair over, body about to tear Touo's ace to pieces. Only Ogiwara held him in place, his eyes hateful and angry.

"You have no right to screw this up Kagami, you cost us this game and I will kill you. "

Everyone's eyes widened, Ogiwara spoke very rarely, his joyful expressions answering most questions. His lengthy and crude threat was a surprise to everyone, even the seniors who had long suspected the animosity Ogiwara felt towards the Generation of Miracles.

"How the fuck can you stand looking at the motherfucker when he didn't go? None of those fuckers cared about Kuroko, but you're letting them off scot free, when they get to live and he doesn't! That's bullshit."

Before them a referee stands, prepped to stop any argument, but the words of death left him unable to move. Feeling suddenly awkward, the ref allows the team to continue their talk, in spite of the rapidly approaching end to the third quarter break.

"Kagami you don't know them, I don't know them. And I'm not letting your teenage angst ruin this game, Kuroko wouldn't want a fight started for him, but he would have wanted us to fight for him, with basketball."

To emphasise his words, Ogiwara throws the practice ball to Kagami's unsteady palms. A whine leaves his throat and he can still only see blue. With tears biting his eyes, he throws the ball down and sits at the bench, he couldn't play their last quarter like this.

Twenty minutes in, 107-98, Kagami finally calms down and subs out Tsuchida-senpai. He fouls left, right and centre, his game wild and untamed and angry. He scores fifteen points in the last half of the last quarter and glares coldly down at Aomine when the buzzer sounds. Ogiwara lays a hand on his shoulder but with the game finished, Kagami can no longer hold his anger back, not when Aomine's intrigued smile made Kuroko's voice stream in his head endlessly.

Without really thinking Kagami slams Aomine against the court, both their teams rushing forward to placate the roaring teen. Ogiwara can't move, not when he didn't understand. Sure, Kuroko was his best friend, but Kagami was the one with him in his last moments. Kagami was the one who couldn't stop Kuroko in the end, he might not have known Kuroko from a bar of soap, but their one and only meeting had ripped Kagami's life apart. Ogiwara had no right to interfere now.

"What the hell? What is your problem?" Aomine's smile had morphed into rage.

"Where the fuck were you!?" Kagami screamed suddenly, his voice loud even with the cacophony behind them.

Aomine has no time to answer before Kagami lays a knuckle bruising punch to the floor beside his face.

"Weren't you his friend? His partner? Didn't you feel anything when he died!? Where the fuck were you Miracles that night? Why weren't you with him? Why couldn't you stop him? Why couldn't I? Why couldn't he have fucking flied?"

Kagami's questions are hollow, yet loud. Aomine continues to stare in growing confusion.

"Get the hell off me you psycho, I don't know what you're on about but you'll regret it if you don't let me go soon."

A scream, scary and shrill sounds from Kagami and this time he aims properly, fist meeting Aomine's flesh. Kiyoshi, Izuki and Hyuga rip him off Aomine before more damage could be done.

"I'm going to fly, Kagami-kun. I'm going to fly, Kagami-kun. I'm going to fly, Kagami-kun."

The words kept ringing until finally Ogiwara's voice broke through the hazy anger, leaving a torrent of confusion.

"They don't know Kagami," red eyes meet amber in disbelief, but his eyes are honest,"None of them know, I was in the exact same position with Kise last year, none of them even realised he's dead."

The crowd quiet somewhat as Kagami falls limp, processing this information and suddenly tears of frustration fall down his face.

"I've been having nightmares for a year and eight months, I've had anxiety attacks, I can't even cross a bridge or swim without panicking and- they don't even fucking know."

His voice is hushed and broken, angry and from behind the crowd Momoi steps forward. Not to help Aomine like expected, but to listen closely to what Kagami was saying because a very sickening picture was forming in her head.

She'd heard Miracles and dead and partners and friends. The chances were slim but she kept thinking it had been two years since Tetsu-kun had talked with her. Kept remembering that his name wasn't on any of the Japanese Basketball teams and that Ogiwara had started a fight with Kise last year and no one was sure why, just that he kept screaming "you have no right to say his name. "

Kagami looks up and confirms her worst fears.

"I've had Kuroko's dead figure haunting my dreams and these fuckers don't know!? Their supposed friend died right before my fucking eyes and the only ones in this whole goddamn tournament who know are me and you!?"

Momoi falls and even in his surprised stupor Aomine manages to catch her.

"Tetsu-kun...Is dead? You're lying. You have to be lying." She refuses to believe it, murmur low. Suddenly the pieces Aomine had been struggling to fit together connected.

"Is this some fucked up joke? We mess around with your teams scores in Middle School so you think saying Tetsu is dead is an appropriate joke!" Aomine looks to Ogiwara in unadulterated fury.

Kagami, unable to handle the overload of emotions scrambles to his teams bench, everyone's eyes on him. Touo and Seirin are left so utterly confused and the officials and spectators who'd jumped down to see the fuss look around awkwardly. None of this seemed appropriate right now.

Ogiwara clenches his fist and looks down with cold disregard at Aomine.

"You know, his parents tried ringing you guys before they buried him. They called your cells and your home phones, no one answered. All of twenty people were at his funeral, his family, Kagami and I, my family and two guys we knew as kids. Kuroko died and you bastards, people he told me were some of his favourite people, didn't even bother finding out whether or not he was okay, much less whether he was alive. So don't talk as if you care now, not when he's been dead for a year and none of you Kiseki no Sedai shitheads knew that. "

Aomine shakes- arms, legs, head all shaking vigorously. He wouldn't believe it. Kuroko was only seventeen, he couldn't just die. Not like that. Not now, not for atleast seventy more years.

Ogiwara looks at Aomine, eyes sad and desolate. It had been nearly two years, he'd long since given up his anger. He was still bitter and could not associate with the Miracles without being reminded that Kuroko was forever gone, but times had numbed the pain, made it more scar than wound.
