Sukitara
First date?
So in this headcanon they start dating when Suki is a personal guard (Fire Lord or an Earth King, doesn't matter) and Katara is an ambassador. I think they'd go to the market, get food from different stalls, a little shopping but mostly just a chance to be close together. If they are in Ba Sing Se they might start at the Jasmine Dragon.
8. Who's the early bird and who likes to sleep in longer?
In any relationship, Katara is the one who prefers to sleep in (but she'll get up if she needs to). Suki is an early bird till she gets with Katara, then they both like lingering with morning cuddles 🥰
16. Do they steal each others clothes and does it sometimes end with them also claiming some of them as their own after a long while of "borrowing" it already?
Honestly I think they reach a point where they just acknowledge there is no sides to their closet, they share so much. Though Katara defaults to blue, she is definitely the first to steal something of Suki's if it looks cozy.

I do think after the war Sokka wants to take Suki out on a proper date. She insists it's not necessary, but he wants to woo her. There is definitely cheesy poetry involved, but on the whole Suki thinks it's cute. They'd probably end up a nicer restaurant, but just somewhere
8. Who's the early bird and who likes to sleep in longer?
Sokka's canon nickname from Toph is Snoozles so I think this is obvious. Unlike Katara, Sokka is a nightmare to wake up in the morning, so Suki learns to use the morning as her time to herself.

You know I think they both do it, especially when they are in the South Pole and need warm layers.

Just for fun, here are my rapid fire rambling thoughts on the ATLA ships and platonic dynamics hehe (please don’t go full ship wars tho - these are just my opinions as a chill multishipper!)
My Favorite Ships:
• Zukka - My current brainrot and main ship!! I know they aren’t canon but I really love them and their potential okay😭I just feel like their personalities would work so well! Sokka would call Zuko on his shit and Zuko would be good at grounding Sokka when he needs it. Plus I have seen some absolutely breathtaking AUs with this ship! And fire-and-ice vibes except gay! Them <3
• Kataang - Cutiessss!! I love them! They may not be the ship I think about most often, but when I do think about them, they’re adorable! Aang is such a “my wife” guy and Katara absolutely adores him back! Also the last airbender x last southern waterbender dynamic goes HARD! I like that these two are canon!
• Yuetara - Listen I know they barely interacted but THEY’VE ACTUALLY GROWN ON ME SO MUCH LATELY AND I VERY HIGH KEY SHIP THEM! Something about like, Katara thinking about Yue when she bends is so😭Their story would be heartbreaking in the best way!! Sapphic noncanon blorbos <3
• Mailee - These two are SO cute and have so much potential rahhh!! Again, love some noncanon sapphics <3
• Batkoda - Super SUPER cute and silly and fun! The dads fr <3 Bato is either Katara and Sokka’s adopted uncle or their stepdad and I love it for them hehe! This usually pairs well with a “Hakoda adopts Zuko” AU lmao!
Other Canon/Relatively Popular Ships:
• Zutara - A pretty good ship! I see the potential and tbh it’s very very fun to think about sometimes!!! However, some of y’all toxic Zutara stans need to leave my boy Aang alone lmao. Those who are chill tho, I rock with y’all!! Overall, I’m not opposed if it’s done well and I do occasionally seek out Zutara content! I personally do prefer seeing/writing them as found siblings tho, especially with the Azula and Katara parallels!!
• Sukka - Canon cuties!! I really like them! Suki my BELOVED <3 She’s so underrated!
• Yukka - Also canon cuties! They make me sad tho ahhhhh😭😭😭
• Maiko - Also ALSO canon cuties!! They have an interesting dynamic that I can really appreciate! And gotta love Mai <3
• Jinko - Jin my beloved! These two had a super cute dynamic during the one episode they had together lmaoooo, tho I don’t think about this ship too too often.
• Tokka - I don’t mind it if it’s them getting together as adults! But tbh I personally don’t prefer shipping them as teens and I think Toph’s crush was just a typical young girl crush on someone slightly older lol. Definitely not horrible and most Tokka shippers are relatively chill! I like to think Sokka sees Toph as a little sister tho.
Now For Some Of The Crackship-y/Less Popular Ships (based on ships I’ve actually seen):
• Zukki (Zuko/Sokka/Suki) - Power throuple fr and I love some polyamory!! While I mostly lean plain Zukka, this is extremely fun to think about and would be a great dynamic!
• Mai/Ty Lee/Suki - Saw this in a Zukka fic once and it was adorableeeeee! I may not have plans to actively write this or anything, but it’s cute! Another power throuple!
• Jetko - I don’t think they would be compatible long term, but by god they are very very fun to think about in a “Jet flirts with Zuko and Zuko is completely oblivious and they share one kiss before everything goes to shit” way lmao!
• Taang - I can respect it!! I will always love them as chaos siblings personally, but it’s a totally valid and chill ship!
• Katoph - Not a bad ship at all! I’ve only come across like one post tho lmao. Also I do think I heavily prefer them as found sisters, but that’s just me personally! Again, totally a valid and chill ship!
• Azutara - I’m very neutral on this lmao. I don’t despise it at all and it could be pretty interesting?? But tbh really not something I plan to seek out.
• Azulaang - I mean?? I’m also pretty neutral on this one. Aang would be kind to her if she was trying to get help but…idk lmao.
• Tyzula - I see the potential, but I personally think Mai and Ty Lee had a healthier and more interesting and more realistic dynamic. Just my preference tho!
(I think I just want Azula to be in therapy before I reallyyyyy ship her lmao, but NOT THE KIND OF “THERAPY” SHE WAS GIVEN IN THE COMICS)
• Zukaang - I don’t love this as a ship honestly. The canon age gap as teens is sketchy for my personal taste, tho I’ve seen people ship them in “Aang was 16 when he got frozen” AUs and that’s…better and I can get behind it a little! It would be interesting! But I think Roku being Zuko’s great-grandpa just still throws me off of this ship. I don’t have any beef with the shippers tho! I’m very “live and let live” and I have seen so much worse lol.
Can’t Forget My Fav Platonic Dynamics!
• Sokka and Aang - Two found brothers who share one idiot braincell when they interact LMAO! Love them always <3
• Sokka and Katara - The siblings ever!!
• Zuko and Aang - Enemies to found brothers!! Canon besties! I love their friendship and their parallels SO MUCH!!
• Toph and Katara - Absolutely ADORABLE as found sisters!!!! Love them!
• Zuko and Katara - I really like their development in a platonic sense and I think they’re very very fun and lovely found siblings by the end!!!! Zuko is 100% the brother that just “yeah my sister can and will whoop your ass” LMAO!
• Zuko and Toph - Also very found siblings in my head!! Only have a handful of solo interactions in canon but I DON’T CARE! I WILL FOUND FAMILY THEM ANYWAY! I’m a “Toph seeks out Zuko for sibling hugs/cuddles when she’s cold because he’s basically a space heater” truther.
• Uncle Iroh and the Gaang - Zuko needs to learn to share because that is ALL OF THEIR Uncle!!!
• Hakoda and Zuko - I thrive in this section of the fandom!! They have exactly one (1) frame together in canon, but I ADORE Dadkoda adopting Zuko! Something about it is just so wholesome and cute!!! My very very fav ATLA fics are this trope!!#LetHakodaBitchSlapOzaiAndAdoptZuko2024
• Uncle Iroh and Zuko - God they make me so ALSNDKSNXNCNSNSNXNX, y’know?
• The Gaang as a whole - Obvious I know, but I really do love them😭They all bonded sm and I adore their little family!! I eat up fanart of the Gaang cuddling like CANDY omg. And yes Suki is included in the Gaang because WHY WOULDN’T SHE BE!

OH MY G O D
Zukki is THE ship! It’s right up there with my other favorite ships. I love them dearly. I love the trope of Zuko looking at these two and thinking “God they’re so cool and pretty I wish I was a part of what they have but they’re soooo out of my league” meanwhile both Sokka and Suki have been dropping hints for months that they also want Zuko but he’s so oblivious LMAO.
Their dynamics together are also fascinating to me. Y’all know I already love the bromance Zuko and Sokka have going between them, and I love Sokka and Suki, but Zuko’s dynamic with Suki, especially in the comics is usually so overlooked but I loooove the friendship they develop. Zukki is the ultimate throuple in my heart.
I love Zukka, and I love Sukka, so basically combining them? It’s SO good. It’s actually criminal I’ve only drawn one Zukki piece I need to fix that asap.

ATTENTION all ATLA fans who also love ASOIAF/GOT/HOTD!!
I'm making this post mostly to gush but also to inform about an epic story I started reading years ago and was recently reuploaded to AO3
This excellent story is a wonderful ode to the worlds of ATLA and GOT. It's got just the right amount of both injected into it that fans of the two will enjoy it and ATLA fans who know little or nothing about GoT will still be drawn in by the excellent storytelling, worldbuilding, and characterization!
As a general warning, the story does focus on some ATLA characters that were either minor and not given much focus or were straight up dead during the events of the series but I promise the writing WILL make you care about them and their stories!!
The main ships so far are Sukka, Lu Ten/OFC (she is well written I promise), and YUE/ZUKO (!!!! MY BELOVEDS the whole reason I started reading it tbh lmao but I'll warn ya it's Very Slow Burn)

I'm fashionably late (as always) but today is Fanfic Writers Appreciation Day, so I need to gush about some very incredible, talented people, some of whom I'm very lucky to consider friends. This is probably going to be very lengthy, so if you don't want to see me scream about how amazing these lovely people are, I suggest you keep scrolling.
I've been in fandom for just over 2 years, and I've met some incredible people along the way. Here's what I love about them:
@neurologicaldamage as one of my oldest fandom friends, I have long enjoyed screaming excitedly at each other over new ideas or plot developments in existing fics. It was a thrilling ride waiting for each update of "These Scars of Ours". Your angst is the most exquisite type of pain I will gladly subject myself to over and over again.
@authorjoydragon JOY! My beloved multishipper. You are one of, if not the, biggest reason I have blossomed into the fully fledged multishipping trash that I am today. Your fics are like the sweetest, fluffiest piece of cake I can enjoy. I can't even remember the first fic I ever read from you. I definitely remember "Accidental Rendezvous" though, and I am forever honored you commissioned me for it!
@orangepanic you took someone who wasn't even that into the LoK fandom and gave her a whole new OTP while she was on hiatus from Zutara. You are the captain of Irosami, and I am humbled to have become your first mate on this wonderful little ship. I have adored everything that I've read from you so far, but I am deeply enjoying "Hotman" and "Starvation Paradise", as well as your new gift for me, "There Was Only One Bed".
@homeagainrose Not only are you a talented writer, you are also an endless well of knowledge that has become invaluable to me (and many others, I'm sure). "Summer At the Swimming Dragon" is everything, and my excitement is palpable every time you update it. But of course, everything you write is superb (also a big fan of "Hello Sailor").
@asajjvxntress You were one of the first Zutara writers I stumbled across. It was "I've Got A Dark Alley" if memory serves, and definitely contributed to my love of modern AUs. I fell in love with "New Girl" and then watched the show, which is now one of my favorites and it's all because of you! Your output feeds our ship so well, and we are honored to have you.
@myargalargan O Captain, Our Captain of the lovely Sukka ship. Your writing is so darling. Sukka is so wholesome, but somehow it feels even more like that when you write them. You take a side pairing and make them a main pairing. "Our Little Remedy" was much anticipated, and I must thank you for introducing all of us to...you know *wink wink*.
@krastbannert My dude, the way you write is so...hauntingly captivating. Even on your happiest fics, there's always this slight air of melancholy that I just adore. The way you get into a character's head is so amazing, too. It feels like you've cracked them wide open and studied them to understand them as well as you do. "Brave Soldier Girl" captured my attention with just one chapter.
@heavensenthearty you give 100% to everything you do with your writing. You have such a poetic way with words. It doesn't feel like first person works often with fanfic, but you always make it work perfectly.
@its-sooz-again Where do I begin? The pairings, the topics, the characters you explore are sometimes things I never would have thought of, but when I read you writing (or look at your art) I think, wow, this just makes sense. I've always loved Jet, but you've given him such a profound sense of humanity for me that has deepened my love for our favorite traumatized orphan of war. "The Break in the Bend" lives rent free in my head.
@lone-star-ranger you write some of the best fluff! The way you seamlessly weave canon into AUs, AtLA with LoK, Azula with Star Wars, is incredible. You've gifted me so many wonderful fics and have truly become my first mate on the S.S. Yuten, for which I am always deeply indebted to you. "Perks of Matchmaking" is short and sweet, and I'm forever honored that my gift for you inspired a fic that you gifted to me.
I've rambled on long enough, and thank you if you've made it this far. Gender Headcanon: cis, but i also adore the thought of trans suki.
A ship I have with said character: sukka, of course. they're so cute and adorable together. i also like sukitara and ty luki.
A BROTP I have with said character: katara, suki and toph would've been the best trio ever and you cannot convince me otherwise. we were so fucking robbed.
i also love suki and zuko being close friends, especially because i think suki would be the first to notice that zuko and katara are in love. they'd definitely bond over being in love with a water tribe sibling (especially how damn cold the south pole is).
A NOTP I have with said character: discounting all large age gap ships, probably none!
A random headcanon: suki leads the kyoshi warriors well into her forties, giving it up only to become the chief of the republic city police (after she's trained a worthy successor, naturally). seriously, why the fuck did they make toph police chief when suki, already the leader of a military organization and used to a regimented lifestyle, was right there???
General Opinion over said character: criminally underdeveloped and underappreciated. seriously, we had time for episodes like the great divide and nightmares and daydreams, but not to flesh out a character who would become part of our main protagonist group? and why did she just fucking disappear from existence by the time of lok??? did bryke just not know how to write women who didn't become housewives and mothers?
