This scene is from the west of Ireland and soon after sunset the wind and rain lashed, every thirty minutes the conditions changed.

The Egyptian sun god, Ra was believed to travel through the underworld every night after the sun set. In his travels he would collect souls, and transport them to their resting place. Each night the terrible serpent Apophis would attempt to block Ra from returning to the surface and Ra would have to battle the creature. Only if he was successful would the sun rise the next morning
