I just realized... Orion Lake is probably named after Orion the hunter from Greek mythology🤦♀️

Too many years of getting up early at early thirty, I guess. I am standing in front of my western facing kitchen sink window admiring the moon as I prepare my morning coffee. It is cold and crisp with a strong northern breeze. The waning but bright “La Luna Llena”…
orion whose favourite was always sirius, his oldest, his dog. and regulus was never in his thoughts, not being close to him at all. orion thought of regulus as not a backup heir like walburga did, but as an unnecessary nuisance- someone to keep out of public eye/to be hunted and defeated, only his image remaining but not his actual being.
sirius was meant to be orion's loyal hunter/dog. he was to look up to orion and take after him, staying close by his side and destroying anyone orion told him to. but sirius met a deer, and instead of hunting him like orion expected of him, sirius befriended him instead.
and regulus, the heart of the lion, the animal orion holds the skin of in his arms, became the only heir willing to listen to him.
